Social Communication And Human Characteristics Of Social...
It is extremely important to understand the traits of social media and the human factors impacting
technology because if we did not, there would be a lot more miscommunications and
misunderstandings between people. For example, social media users need to understand that social
media communication is limited compared to face to face communication. Factors such as Temporal
Structure, which is the time it takes to send and receive a message, affect how effective social
media communication is. Also, Asynchronous communication, which is communication that occurs
when participants are not co present, could cause communication problems because the people who
are communicating might not be as involved in a conversation. Tone and other signs that people
give off to relay emotions and messages are not present in many social communication forms as
well.
There are three key steps in the Perception Process. The first is to Observe someone s behavior
and determine what the behavior means. The second is to describe the behavior to the person
objectively. It is important to not show any approval or disapproval to their actions in this step.
Next, you explain your personal perception of the behavior. This step is very important because
you let the person know how YOU feel, and this will allow them to respond to your feelings
accordingly. It is also important to be ready to change or alter your perception based on the person
s reaction to your perception checking process.
Automatic social cognition or perception means that someone is arriving to conclusions about
situations, people, or themselves, without much conscious awareness or intention on what the
future effects might be. On the other hand, conscious or controlled cognition means that someone
is stopping to think about something intentionally, because they realise that their thoughts can
affect what happens in a situation. This means that automatic social cognition is always happening
and can lead to someone making decisions and judgements that are not very thought out or
reasonable. One time I made the automatic and unconscious assumption that someone was weird
just because they watched Japanese cartoons, I told my friend and this ended up spreading to the
person I was

The Islamic Finance and The Sukuk Market
CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
1.1 OVERVIEW
The Islamic finance industry has been evolving and growing rapidly for the past decade. The
recent global financial meltdown has open opportunity to Islamic finance to offer a new outlooks
and effective solutions to economics problems. Economists are now looking to the east, learning
lessons and seeing advantage of Islamic finance. Since then, serious research on Islamic financial
system has been carried out and Islamic financial system has been an interesting area of discussion.
Today, Islamic finance has shown impressive performance with the Islamic finance industry s
assets are estimated to have amounted to $1.8 trillion as at end 2013, recording an over 16% y o
y growth according to KFH Research. In a newly released report Islamic Finance Outlook 2014 by
Kuwait Finance House Research Limited (KFHR), the Islamic finance industry is forecasted to
continue to chart tremendous double digit growth rates across all sectors, with total industry assets
estimated to reach approximately $2.1 trillion as at end 2014.
The Sukuk market has been one of the most popular sectors in Islamic finance over the past few
years. According to Zawya, 2011 was a record year for these relatively young assets which reached
$84.4 billion. In 2012 Sukuk issuance is already shaping up to be a record year with $68 billion
issued in the first half, an increase of 55% over the same period of 2011. Sukuk is an Islamic

Wealth Distribution and William Domhoffs Wealth, Income,...
In William Domhoff s article, Wealth, Income, and Power, he examines wealth distribution in the
United States, specifically financial inequality. He concludes that the wealthiest 10% of the United
States effectively owns America, and that this is due in large part to an increase in unequal
distribution of wealthbetween 1983 and 2004. Domhoff also states that the unequal wealth
distribution is due in large part to tax cuts for the wealthy and the defeat of labor unions. Most of
Domhoff s information is accurate and includes strong, valid arguments and statements. However,
there is room for improvement when identifying the subject of what is causing the inequality.
The most important points made in Domhoff s article are his statistics, the ... Show more content on

William Domhoff s claims in the article Wealth, Income, and Power, are, for the most part, very
strong. He makes strong statements regarding the concentration of wealth in the United States, and
backs them up with good sources throughout. The statistics used are valid, and consistent among
many trusted sources. The only area where Domhoff s argument falls short is when he references
the causes of wealth inequality. In this portion, his argument is a bit weak and could be
strengthened by considering other important factors effecting wealth concentration, rather than
limiting it to two seemingly all important issues. Overall, upon examination of Domhoff s ideas and
sources, he presents an accurate and fairly strong argument about the unequal distribution of wealth
in the United States.

Reflection Of The Five Psychoosexual Stages Of Personality...
Attending the psychology lecture has been an interesting experience for me, which I learn about
different psychological theories explaining how our behaviors and thoughts are changing by the
surrounding stimuli and factors. While I attain the theoretical knowledge, I also understand the
important to convert this knowledge into daily applications. Among the theories I have learnt in the
lesson, I found the psychoanalytic framework of Sigmund Freudis more appealing to me as I can
somehow relate it to myself and the psychological development of my little brother. Moreover, it
seems a more controversial theory when compare to other psychologyperspective.
As Sigmund Freud suggested, every mature individual has a personality structure with three ...

he started to show empathy to others, and more often to lend a hand to people who are in need,
for example giving seat to the needy in public transport and participating in different volunteering

person. The first example about revision shows that my brother starts to have a stronger self control

Crime Rate And Crime Rates
Complying with the order to release 9,600 inmates by year s end will increase the crime rate. Since
the release of one prisoner is associated with an increase of 14.86 crimes per year (Levitt 1996),
compliance is projected to increase crimes by 142,656 per year. It is possible to minimize the social
costs of crimedespite this increase in crime rate, though. If inmates convicted of property crimes
are the release s focus, the subsequent social cost will be comparatively less than if it was
otherwise implemented. Sentence enhancements have been shown to reduce certain types of crime
(Kessler and Levitt 1999), but such measures are typically focused on the most frequent and
dangerous offenders (Kessler and Levitt 1999, p. 359), and those who commit property crime are
unlikely to be classified as such. So sentence reductions may increase violent crime rates, but the
effect on property crime rates is unknown. The best way to comply with the order, then, is to release
inmates convicted of property crimes and to not implement sentence reduction.
How to structure the release
Property crimes (burglary, larceny, and auto theft) are the most likely to increase following a
release of prisoners, but also the least costly. They make up 84.12% of the projected increase in
crime, but only 15.96% of the projected social cost (Levitt 1996). Despite the greater increase in
crime it would cause, targeting property crime offenders for release is still an attractive option
because of the

A Cod Forsaken Place
The term knowledge is power is attributed to Sir Francis Bacon, and has been prominently used
throughout the years since. When the term is used in modern day, it is often thought of as
becoming more knowledgeable about certain topics, allowing one to make more informed
decisions. Furthermore, this leaves the term power with a connotation revolving around doing
good, or using the power for the greater good. However, when it comes to down to environmental
issues, it is often not the case. The notion of the tragedy of the commonsis also relevant, as people
who obtain knowledge on environmental issues will often attend to their own self interest, rather
than using the knowledge to increase environmental sustainability. Conclusively, when it... Show

However, when examining environmental sustainability, it does not seem to be the case. When
people are faced with knowledge in relation to natural resources that may be sold for personal
capital, people are quick to exploit the resource without taking the environment into consideration.
For example, it can be presumed that if people did not have knowledge of the abundance of cod in
Newfoundland in the 1960 s, the environment would have been thriving in that area to this day.
Similarly, a notion that was present in Davis article is the tragedy of the commons. This plays a key
role when looking at the environment today, in a capitalist world. Furthermore, people are often too
caught up in extending their own enterprises to even consider the potential effects that certain acts
can have on the environment. On the other hand, there are people who obtain knowledge on
something that is harming the environment, yet they do not act on that knowledge or do anything
to mitigate the damage. In the modern world and especially western society, people will easily put
their needs above the environment from which we live. Therefore, from a sustainability point of
view, knowledge is not

Good Night And Good Luck Film Analysis Essay
Good Night, and Good Luck instead used visual techniques to convey particular messages, the
most apparent being that the whole film was shot in high contrast black and white spliced with
occasional real footage of McCarthy. This blend creates the impression that the film was made
in the 1950s while taking Clooney s audience there, watching the conflict as it occurs, as if the
broadcasts were live. Combining historic footage of McCarthy with black and white imagery
further conveys the film as more realistic and era appropriate. Not only for historically accurate
purposes, the employment of a black and white filter paints the film as black and white ,
illustrating McCarthy as black as he is doing wrong and falsely accusing the innocent of being
communists, and Murrow as white as he is doing right and standing up to McCarthy. Whilst black
and white film is typically seen as boring and dull, it proves to make the film s story stand out to
the viewer so that by removing the distraction of vibrant colour, the viewer can focus on character s
actions and dialogue and the conflict between Murrow and McCarthy.
Camera techniques also support the theme of McCarthyism in Good Night, and Good Luck by
showcasing actors in tight situations through expressive camera angles and shots. During Murrow s
several broadcasts, he is shot from multiple unconventional angles and distances, though mostly
close ups zooming toward his face until he is nearly swallowed by the frame. These shots

The Pros And Cons Of The Pickens Plan
T. Boone Pickens created the Pickens Plan with the intention of reducing the international use of
oil. Pickens Plan states that by using natural gas in the place of oil, imported oil demands would

used to repair the U.S. s damaged economy. However, Pickens idea, like every alternative oil
plan, has its flaws. If Pickens Plan was implemented, the U.S. would not solely be affected; the
world and its economy would be shaken. The supply and demand of oil would fluctuate
dangerously, as would its prices.

Since the U.S. is such a prominent oil buyer from as Corey Flintoff (2012) informs countries such
as Canada, Africa, Latin America, and others, a sudden cease of demand would rock the world s

the U.S. demand of oil dropped dramatically, as Pickens Plan says it should, oil supplying
countries would scramble to compensate for lost profits. In theory with the supply and demand
model, the cost and supply of oil would skyrocket, while demand would be nonexistent. Since oil
would be so costly, countries that purchase oil would be unable to afford it anymore, resulting in
an even higher increase of prices and steeper decrease of consumers. With the loss of the U.S. as a
consumer, the economies of these countries would suffer; this suffering would then spread
worldwide, affecting everyone

Taking a Look at Niemann-Pick Disease
Niemann Pick disease an inherited condition involving lipid metabolism, which is the
breakdown, transport, and use of fats and cholesterol in the body is the condition in which
abnormal lipid metabolism causes harmful amounts of lipid to accumulate in parts of the body.
There are 3 forms of this disease: Type A, B, and C. The general focus of this paper will be Type C.
Niemann Pick s disease Type C (NPC) is disease in which unesterified cholesteroland other lipids
accumulate in late endosomes/lysosomes (LE/L) of all cells and tissues. Resulting in excessive
amounts of cholesterol accumulation within the liver and spleen and excessive amounts of
other lipids accumulating in the brain. The cause of NPC is quite distinct from A B whose
patients have defects in their lysosomal acid sphingomyelinase gene (3). On the contrary, NPC
is a recessive, autosomal disorder that affects around 1 in 150,000 births and causes premature
death due to relentless neurodegeneration as well as lung and liver dysfunction (4,5). NPC can
further be divided into two subgroups known as C1 and C2, which are each, caused by a
different gene mutation. One of the many interesting features of this disease is that symptoms
may appear as early as childhood or as late as adulthood. The symptoms that follow this disease
are the inability to move ones eyes up and down, enlarged liver, enlarged spleen, or jaundice in
young children. But it is common for only one or two symptoms to appear in the early

Power Of Expression In Rap Music
The Power Of Freedom Of Expression In Music
Throughout the years, Music has always played an influential part on our social behavior. I
personally believe that the Music we listen to everyday, the lyrics we hear are favorite artist sing
or rap has a key part into how we conduct ourselves. Why should we oppose censorship when
corporations pay thousands of dollars to create a murder scene and mayhem in a music video and
release it to the public and it usually dominates the TV screen, when works of art can be seen as a
direct insult to people s religious beliefs, threatening to the public and when much sexually explicit
material can be seen as degrading to women. The freedom of speech amendment gave artist the

Animals In The Trojan War
As we discussed in class, the Iliad s mortals lie between gods and animals in their thoughts and
actions, and often struggle to overcome their baser instincts in the pursuit of god like wisdom and
power. However, the events of the Trojan War paradoxically suggest that in order to attain divine
glory heroes must become increasingly bestial, slowly losing their humanity as the battle drags on.
Homer makes the inhuman ferocity of his heroes obvious, most notably in frequent similes
comparing various fighters to predators. These comparisons are more frequent and violent as the
war escalates. During the peak of Agamemnon s fury in battle, he is compared to a lion [seizing] the
innocent young of the running deer...and [ripping] out... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the Achaians and the Trojans place high value on honor earned in battle, multiple
characters comment on the futility of war. While in combat, Menelaos angrily declares that the
Trojans will never be satisfied with their accomplishments in war, directly contrasting it with more
humane activities such as song and dance. Even Achilleus admits, There [is] no gratitude given for
fighting incessantly forever against your enemies...A man dies still if he has done nothing, as one
who has done much (9.316 318). However, the heroes recognition of the wasteful, unending nature
of war is ultimately meaningless, as emotion drives them to fight even when logic would tell them
to turn back. This is what separates the humans from the gods gods have some control over their
emotions, while humans, like animals, are completely beholden to them. This contrast is clearest in
Book 16, where Zeus ultimately masters his own sadness over his son Sarpedon s impending death
and allows fate to take its course, while Patroklos, in a huge blind fury (16.685), forgets Achilleus s
orders and pursues the Trojans, leading to his demise. Thus, the human heroes lead a fundamentally
tragic existence they, like animals, are increasingly controlled by their instincts and emotions as the

Hamlet And Hamlet Comparison
When comparing two different Hamlet movies I found that one scene in particular was obviously
more different than the others. I compared Columbia pictures 1996 version with Kenneth Branagh
playing the role of Hamlet versus BBC s 2009 Hamlet in which David Tennant played the
honorable role of Hamlet. When comparing both movies I found a lot of similarities but there was
one major difference when I compared the To be or not to be scene. The scenes vary in multiple
ways whether it is lighting, focus, camera movements, and even the actors that play Hamlet.

While both did their job of acting out the scene I believe Kenneth Branagh s 1996 film does a
much better job. Kenneth choose to act the scene in a very grand ballroom, which I think was
appropriate due to the grandness of soliloquy itself. In the BBC version of the scene Hamlet is
shown leaning against a pillar with such low key lighting you can not tell what sort of room he is
in. When Hamlet first enters the grand ballroom in the older movie he takes his time to begin
speaking which is crucial between the transition between the last scene and the current scene. The
length in speech gives the audience the chance to settle in for what they are about to hear. In David
Tennant s version he quickly jumps into his speech not leaving much room for transition. The
common audience does not understand every word of the Shakespearean language hamlet speaks
and may lose interest while Hamlet continues to ramble on. The continued camera movement
throughout Kenneth Branagh s movies helps the audience to stay focussed on the movie even if
they do not fully understand every word Hamlet speaks. During Gregory Doran s movie,
throughout the entire scene there are only two transitions and the camera never moves in either
position. This adds to the viewer losing interest, not only are they bored by having nothing in the
background to look at, due to the low key lighting, they are bored by the complex English
language Hamlet speaks and given only two transitions and no movements to maintain their
interest. The first representation of the To be or not to be speech creates multiple plots to further
add in maintaining the viewers interest. By placing the king and Polonius behind the two way
mirror and having Hamlet walk to the exact mirror creates a sense of urgency that is non existent
in the BBC version. Having this extra story allows

The Common Abnormality of Proteinuria in the Liver
I.Introduction
The kidney is one of the most important organs in the human body. It supports and carries many
bodily functions, primarily in excretion of wastes and filtration of the needed nutrients and
products to maintain homeostasis in the body. However, if these two functions fail to do its part in
the system, it will disrupt the its own cycle and will result to some diseases and abnormalities. One
of the most common of these abnormalities is the presence of too much protein in the urine, or
commonly known as Proteinuria.
The kidney is an important organ of the body because it serves as a filter for the wastes in the
bodies. Ideally, urine contains very little amounts of protein. It cannot surpass the perm selectivity
of the glomerulus because proteins are considered as macromolecules; they are too big to be
filtered. The normal amount of protein that should be present in urine is 150mg/day or less, but in
some cases, it exceeds the normal range, which results to a foamy urine. This is what happens in
Proteinuria.
II.History/ Overview
Dating back to the time of Hippocrates, whom first inspected and described the presence of
bubbles in the urine, paved way to the discovery of Proteinuria. Various methods sprung out during
latter centuries. One physician who started the study is Frederick Dekkers, sho came up ith idea
that that it as milk that causes the abnormality. But his idea was changed as soon as other

Constitutional Interpretation Essay
Constitutional Interpretation
In this essay I will try to explain and critique the two dominant methods of constitutional
interpretation. Which are originalism and non originalism. I will do this by taking help from How
to Read the Constitution by Christopher Wolfe, and different source s from Internet. I will start by
giving what Wolfe says originalism is, and then I will give some background to other ways to
interpret the constitution, and the founders and interpretation and I will finish up with my view on
originalism and non originalism and the critics to that.

Certain historical considerations are essential. The words are to be understood by those for whom
they were written, and therefore we must know what those understandings where. Christopher
Wolfe believes that the framers would tend to give preferences in such cases to the fair reading of
the document itself.
To summarize, the approach to constitutional interpretation employed in the early years of
American government: an interpreter is to begin with the words of the document in their ordinary
popular usage and understand the in light of their context. That context includes the words of the
provision of which it is a part, but also extends to the much broader context of the document as a
whole. The deeper assumption underlying these early rules of interpretation was a fairly traditional
realist epistemology: that the constitution has a fixed, determinate meaning intelligible to those

Rood Vs Beowulf
Heroic Actions Pay Off
The Dream of the Rood
The Son was victorious in venturing forth, / mighty and triumphant when he returned with many,
/ a company of souls to the Kingdom of God (150 152).
Beowulf
The treasure had been won, bought and paid for by Beowulf s death.
Both had reached the end of the road, through the life they had been lent (2842 2845). The Dream
of the Rood and Beowulf both have similarities that show a heroic image for the main character
in the stories. These two passages both show how the heroic character in the end of their stories
received a glorious ending to their lives. For example, in The Dream of the Rood the particular
line, a company of souls to the Kingdom of God is describing how the Rood reached the ultimate
afterlife with God after everything the Rood has been through. This passage shows that the Rood

People show respect to heroes in different ways if they are from a different culture or area from
someone else. The Rood was respected as a hero by going to the ultimate afterlife for that
culture. The culture that was around the Rood was Christianity and they believe if someone
does enough good deeds they will be able to live their life in heaven. To these people everything
the Rood went through and stood for was a heroic image for them to see the Rood not fall before
the man. However, in Beowulf there was no talk about a heaven or a god it was more about the
riches. Beowulf fought all the monsters and evil that attacked towns to receive the label they
called a hero. After Beowulf defeated the monsters he would receive the treasure had been won

Thread And Balance By Timothy Tapestry
Thread and Balance
In a small town many years ago, the Tapestry family walked to work enjoying the simple
pleasures that the morning offered. Timothy Tapestry was a tall man with blond hair and a
subdued face. He had lived in this town his whole life, and just like any other morning, he gazed
happily at the hills in the distance. Ever since he was young, Timothy had marveled at how the sun
lit up those hills in the morning, and since he was a creature of habit, he did the same today.
Past his thoughts, and in a world of her own, Adeline Tapestry walked with her husband to work.
She too enjoyed the morning, but for reasons other than its routine. Adeline had an easy smile, and

Even as they said yes, a cloud of doubt covered their hearts, because they knew full well that three
days was not enough time to make these items. However, they had already agreed to the task. So
they took the slip of paper containing the king and queen s measurements.
With these deadlines in mind, the king began. We bid you farewell. He then raised his hand to
wave goodbye, and the royal parade began to leave. A mixture of joy and anxiety rushed through
Timothy and Adeline as the king and queen left. For although the Tapestrys were well known for
their quality products, it always took them a while to actually fabricate their orders. They would
have to work quickly, and precisely to overcome their time constraints.
Once the crowd had finally dispersed, the Tapestrys let themselves into their shop. It was a homey
place that told comforting stories through its exposed beams, and crackling fireplace. Immediately
they began to pull out different fabrics, and patterns trying to decide what would best suit King
Leonardo, and his wife Queen Alisha. Ideas were shared and compromises made, so that in the end
it was decided that Timothy would make the king s coat, while Adeline would make the queens.
While sewing, they would use different satin fabrics that had pastel colors to subtly speak of
wealth, and embroider

Serial Killers and Mass Murderers
Thomas Blankenship 6 April 2000 Mrs. Waggener English II Mass Murderers and Serial Killers
Mass Murderers and Serial Killers are nothing new to today s society. These vicious killers are
all violent, brutal monsters and have an abnormal urge to kill. What gives people these urges to
kill? What motivates them to keep killing? Do these killers get satisfaction from killing? Is there
a difference between mass murderers and serial killers or are they the same. How do they choose
their victims and what are some of their characteristics? These questions and many more are
reasons why I was eager to write my paper on mass murderers and serial killers. However, the most

Most serial killers are white males between the ages of 25 and 35 years old with an intelligence
level of average or higher. They also tend to be married with children and have a career (Serial
1). They also seem to have a childhood past of being physically and sexually abused and are
from broken homes. As children, they often wet the bed, were infatuated with masturbation,
were cruel to animals, and liked playing with fire. Because of their childhood, they often
develop a psychopathic nature and do not know how to feel sympathy or be in a relationship
(Scott 2). Because of their insecurity, a compulsive need to feel like they are in authority
becomes a vital part of their well being, even at the cost of others lives. As Americans look back
at the past one hundred years, we stand in awe while looking at the drastic increase in crime.
However, at the same time we have a hunger for knowledge of these crimes as we search for and
interesting theory. People want to know every detail of the most brutal crimes, and moreover, how
they were committed. Angie cannon insists that this is because people want to believe that it
cannot happen to themselves. We want to know how these unspeakable acts were committed, to
convince ourselves that we are immune from the same wretched fait (Cannon 1). Lee Ross also
states a similar theory, which indicates that Every suicide is unconsciously a suicide and

My Life And Future Goals In Life
A common statement some might say to someone of my age is: Anyone under the age of
eighteen cannot possibly experience something that will change their perspective on life; they
are simply too young. Regardless of how old someone is, they can still face experiences that
could one day shape them as a person. I, personally, have participated in an event that has
completely impacted my life to this day, and has helped me discover my future goals in life.
This event has made me want to change the world and I believe has made me a better person. In
the summer of 2011, I was given what I believed was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Since I
was a young girl, I only ever wanted to be around animals, and I dreamt that one day I would be
able to be an animal doctor , as I once called it. So when my mother told me I would be spending
two weeks at the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Adventure Camp, I was elated. I would be able to
work with animals both large and small and be a part of the park s conservational efforts. Once I
was there, the opportunity felt even more like a dream. I and other campers participated in
activities like sleeping beside beluga whales, swimming with sharks, and meeting one of the
veterinarians at the park. Everything was perfect, it seemed, until the events at the park began to
become a bit emotional so to speak. After the first few days at SeaWorld Orlando, our camp
counselor decided it was time to show us the new additions at the park. She took us

Connections Between U.S. Presidents and Roman Emperors
Throughout history, countless leaders, had their periods of leadership among the masses; a story of
how they claimed their superior position. Are there connections though between leaders and their
lives, positions, and their form of a kingdom? My goal is to find these connections between the
United States current and former presidents, Barrack Obama and George W. Bush and two Roman
emperors, Augustusand his great grandson, Nero.
After a 20 year period of transition from the republic and the assassination of Julius Caesar,
Augustus returned to Rome forming an alliance with Mark Antony and Marcus Lepidus known as
the Second Triumvirate which led to the establishment of the Roman Empire. The first 206 years of

It was suspected by some historians that Nero caused the fire of 64. Nero attempted to rebuild
Rome and organize the construction of the buildings that were burned or destroyed. The attempt to
rebuild Rome cost immense funds that the Rome State Treasury didn t have, causing the Roman
currency to decrease in value.
Nero was surrounded by death and as emperor was known for his many of his atrocities and
executions, including the execution of his mother. Even as a child, Nero was surrounded by death
in his family. Nero s father, Lucious Ahenobarbus, died when Nero was 2 years old. Several other
family members deaths followed including: his uncle, aunt and cousin; his half brother, and his
mother. After becoming emperor, he had ordered the execution of his mother for having indecent
relations.
Later in his reign, Nero became one of the first prosecutors of Christians. After the fire of 64, Nero
tortured and executed countless Christians. Was known by some historians as the antichrist that the
bible predicted.
Our government now has great contrast to the Roman Empire but like the up Empire, we look to
one man for leadership and approval. In a democracy, that one man is known as the president. The
masses vote on a president to represent them for four years. As president, they have several

The 2008 financial crisis was the biggest crisis since the 1930s. What has been referred to as the
2008 crisis, or the 2008 meltdown, or the Great Recession, has been considered by many to have
actually started in August of 2007.
But, more importantly, the 2008 financial crisis made the US economy, and most of the Western
economy, a bad joke. The West s greatest minds, and the West s highest income nations, did not
understand or anticipate the financial disaster the US had created. People all over the world

that a major financial crisis was highly unlikely. They were, of course, wrong.
Various radical policy measures were used to deal with the massive 2008 problem. These measures
included the bailout of the commercial banking system, a huge monetary expansion, and the
accumulation of massive fiscal deficits. These measures, particularly Bernanke s monetary

The Summation Of Stress Occurrences Essay
Stress at work typically is not felt from a single occurrence. The summation of stress occurrences
lead to stressors. Stressors are defined as an event or context that elevates levels of adrenaline
forcing a physical or mental response. There typically is a straw that broke the camels back
philosophy that builds negative stress(Bauer and Erdogan page 138). Furthermore, our world is
rapidly changing. The world becoming a global economy, rapidly changing technology, and
increased competition between business is changing roles and expectations. Negative stress is
often the result of a combination of undefined roles, rapidly changing technology, group, family,
and social influences. As the global economy, technology, and business competition increase, our
roles and expectations are rapidly changing and evolving to accommodate these needs. Many
changes have been beneficial. Changes like these also have brought unintended consequences.
More than ever companies need to deliver goods are services leaner, have competitive advantage,
and cheaper. This need can blur the lines expectations and accountabilities. This can build into
unclear expectations which can grow role ambiguity. Having unclear defined expectations leads
to who is accountable for what role. This can grow role conflict. Having unclear expectations can
lead to role overload. Role overload is defined as having not enough time and resources to fulfill a
given task. For the most part, people what to

Bryce Courtenay s The Power Of One
Ever wanted to see a roach busting chicken named after a granpa? If you read this book, your
dreams will come true. The Power of One, is a somewhat non fiction novel written by Bryce
Courtenay. It tells the tale of Peekay, a small South African boy who is sent to boarding school
until his mother recovers from a mental breakdown. When he returns, he meets a man on the train
called Hoppie Groenewald, who teaches him about boxing. Peekay instantly realizes that he is
meant to become a boxer. The rest of the story consists of Peekay s adventures and him trying to
become the next welterweight champion of the world. The Powerof One is filled with many
different themes that are prominent throughout the book, but the one that sticks out is Logic and
Emotion, or: You must have a nice balance of faith and logic to formulate a reliable plan.

Filial Piety In Confucian Ideology
In Confucian ideology, filial piety is perhaps the most sacred of traditions. This concept literally
refers to the virtue of respecting one s parents, elders, and one s ancestors. However, filial piety
was not limited to the familial sphere: it was also meant to serve as a model for organizing society.
The earliest records defining filial pietys significance in Confucian ideology can be traced to a text
from the third fourth century B.C.E., The Canon of Filial Piety. Throughout succeeding eras and
dynasties, this work had been consistently regarded as the official source on the subject. The text
recounts a conversation between Confucius (referred to as the Master ) and one of his disciples,
Zeng Zi (referred to as Master Zeng ). Confucius explains to Zeng Zi that... Show more content on

Following the initial conversation between Confucius and Zeng Zi, Confucius subsequently
provides guidelines of how to act filially for people of different positions in society. These include
the common people, ministers, feudal lords, the Shi (scholars), and even the Son of Heaven. In
each case, no matter the position, Confucius strongly advocates for people to revere their parents.
Additionally people will indirectly honor their parents by acting decently towards others: those
who love their parents dare not be hateful to others (Mair, Steinhardt, Goldin, 107). Confucius
elaborated on other concepts relating to filial piety and their value within society. Regarding The
Essential Way and Utmost Virtue, there is nothing more efficacious to teach the people of intimacy
and love than filial piety. Through these teachings of respect for their parents, the people learn to
revere authority figures. Therefore they will come to respect the emperor and other rulers.
However, Confucius makes clear that a child is not acting filially if they

Atomic Theory And The Study Of Matter
Atomic Theory and the Study of Matter Matter is anything made up of atoms and molecules and
the study of these things called atoms dates back to the time of Ancient Greece to the present. The
information about atoms known today is certainly much greater than what was known centuries
ago. First, there was only hypotheses on this idea that everything in the world is made up of tiny,
unseeable particles. As technology advanced, these hypotheses were tested, critiqued, modified, and
built upon. A mass of knowledge is known regarding atoms, thanks to the research of numerous
chemists and physicists. The atomic theory is the building block to the study of matter just as the
atomis the building block to all matter. Around 400 BCE was when the Greek philosopher
Democritus, alone with his teacher Leucippus, the idea of the atom was born (the word atom
comes from the Greek word atomos or atomon meaning that which cannot be split ). This was a
completely new concept, and Democritus s theory stated that atoms were indestructible and
homogenous, and different states of matter were made up of differently shaped atoms: solids had
sharp and pointy atoms and liquids had large round atoms. Later these ideas would be proved
inaccurate, however, this was the beginning of the discovery of the atom even though the people of
this time had no instruments capable of testing the theory. It was not until centuries later that the
atomic theory was truly looked at again. In 1803 an English

Unhappy Triad The unhappy triad is an injury involving three major ligaments, hence triad , being
completely or partially torn. As imagined, the pain felt from this is excruciating, therefore earning
the name unhappy or terrible triad. Being a very common injury in contact sports, the background,
characteristics, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of the unhappy triad are all essential to
understanding this injury.
The unhappy triad, also known as blown knee , terrible triad , or O Donoghue triad , is named after
Dr DH O Donoghue, an American orthopaedic surgeon who described this injury back in 1950.
This injury includes full or partial tears of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), the Medial
Collateral Ligament (MCL), and a meniscus. The unhappy triad happens to about 25% of athlete s
knee injuries. The unhappy triad is a very common sports injury, especially in contact sports where
the knee can often be hit. It is thought to be the most common knee injury in football and can occur
when the knee is clipped during a tackle.
Normally, the unhappy triad occurs when the foot is planted and the knee is hit and pushed in
another direction. This causes the ligaments and tendons to tear and rip, thus causing the terrible or
unhappy triad. The most common and serious thing that happens to cause a unhappy triad starts
with the ACL. The ACL provides stability to the entire knee and it can be difficult to

Negotiation strategies by Date of Submission Negotiation strategies Introduction Dealing with a
stalemate or conflict can at times be very challenging to two or more groups that are in conflict.
Negotiation happens to be one of the most utilised conflict resolution strategies. The success of
the negotiation process would rely on the strategies employed in the process and responses by the
parties in conflict. Lewicki, Hiam and Olander (2007, pp. 24 28) have provided great insights on
negotiation and how to make the process effective. In their article, Selecting a Strategy, the three

Making an allusion of the negotiation process being just like the buying and selling process, the
buyer and the seller would have different roles to play. Haydon argues that the buyer is in a good
position to sell their product in that he or she can make her case right in describing the product.
Whereas the opponent may be given a chance to give their option, they would be limited with
what has already been given by the proactive party. The proactive party would always set the tone
and thereby have greater say in the negotiation, regardless of the equal opportunities given to both
parties (Jun Geol Ouk, 2007, pp. 606 615). Whereas equality of the parties is granted, this may not
play in terms of the discussions on the main tenets of the conflict and possible resolutions. The
intention of parties in the negotiation table is usually to get favourable resolutions based on their
situation or the conflict. Gregorio Billikopf (2001) argues that Interest based (or integrative)
negotiation is built upon the principle of meeting the needs of all the individuals or stakeholders .
However, the needs of all the stakeholders would only be known on the negotiating table and not on
assumptions or general knowledge of the parties involved. This cements the fact that proactive
player in the negotiation to have an added advantage over the .opponent using the no strategy
approach. For the proactive player, the

American farmer is over 57, white and male; he often has no succession plan. One of my clients,
Larry Peter the Owner of Petaluma Creamery worked in agriculture as a young man picking prunes
and raspberries. He washed milk bottles; bottle fed calves, and drove a forklift for ten years
while he learned the business. He saved his money, bought run down houses, fixed them up, and
rented them out. In doing research, I found farmers and ranchers earned a median annual income
of nearly $61,000 in 2010, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. (1) Seven of the 10

to kill Clarence for the murder of Little Margaret. Intuitively, the night that the group of Native
American men were going to revenge Little Margaret s death and kill Clarence, the Native
American women were so in tune with what was happening even though there were not a part of
the planning that one of the Native American women, Sadie, Silas girlfriend, takes it upon
herself to kill Clarence before Silas does because she knows that if Silas kills Clarence, he will
not be able to fulfill his dreams of becoming a mechanic and would spend his life in jail. She
knew that if she killed him, she would not be a suspect and Silas would have an alibi. Upon
Clarence s murder, the entire group of Native American friends was taken to the police station for
questioning. During their time at the police station, the white officers degraded them and made
them feel less than human. They were made to strip down to their boxer shorts and were treated
poorly because they were Native American. Fortunately for

Nickel and Dime
Nickel and Dimed is about a woman, Barbara Ehrenreich, working at a number of low income
jobs and writing about the experience. Barbara moves to three different cities in the United
States to experience poverty and working conditions in those cities. Barbara spends about a
month in each different city, where she works as a waitress, maid, and sales assistant, and
reports on her experiences. She concludes by pointing out how difficult it is for low income
employees to get by and advocates policies to provide more social supports or increased wages. I
liked Nickel and Dimed because it revealed to me the realities of the working poor. I have learned
that some people end up staying in motel rooms that cost twice as much as an apartment,... Show

The service industry is often underpaid for the work they do, and showing them that you
appreciate and value their work can make all the difference in the world. This next part of the
book finds Barbara in Minneapolis, working at a Wal Mart in the women s clothing section.
There is a link between one s personal appearance and one s financial situation that is brought to
my attention in this section. I was bothered by the author s findings that Wal Mart caters to the
lower income families. They offer inexpensive food items loaded with calories and very little
nutritional value and clothes that are cheaply made and designed to fit overweight people.
Much of the food available to low income people is loaded with empty calories, which leads to
obesity, however, their physical appearance become less important than food in their belly and a
roof over their head. Even Barbara, making 7 dollars an hour at Wal Mart, seeks help from a
charitable agency. They prove unable to help her yet they load her up with a stack of sugary and
unhealthy food items. People who have limited budgets and are in poor health still require their
needs to be met. I think it is wonderful that Wal Mart caters to these customers. The working
class often uses Wal Mart as a place to escape, if only for a little while, and not feel as though they
are looked down upon. Class status exists in America and is often exploited by large

Summary Of La Belle Dame Sans Merci
Deceived
In John Keats La Belle Dame sans Merci, the speaker express his love for this fairy woman where
he explains, I met a lady in the meads, Full beautiful a faery s child, (13,14). But he was Lured
(33), to sleep with the woman who he thought once loved him and as she said, I love the true (28).
Why then if she love thee does he feel the darkness of horrid warning gapГЁd ? Was it all just a
dream? Or reality?
Firstly, the speaker as I assume is a man because he is talking about a lady he met which he
called her a faery s child, (14). As he said in the poem he was, Alone and palely loitering (Keats,
2), That certain stanza made me pictured a man alone with no sense of direction no sense of
love. Lonesome. But they never went into much detail on what he was doing or where he came
from. Moving on, just from a few lines into the poem the speaker s tone was coming off as
melancholy. I got the melancholy tone because the speaker seemed very sad and gloomy with
phrases as, O what can ail thee (1) almost sound like a cry for help or just a cry out of last hope.
He then goes on to say I met a lady in the meads, ( 13 ), as stated previously but, this is when the
poem turns from melancholy and alone to happy and almost hopeful.
Continuing on, in this poem the speaker became infatuated with this lady. As he said, I made a
garland for her head, And bracelets too, and fragrant zone; (17,18 ) he begins to fall for her and
starts to be very taken with her

Scottsboro Trial Analysis
Beware: Injustice Ahead!
Rape is considered a very serious topic and is not taken lightly, however it was different in this
case. It was taken as a joke and it was laughed about rather than frowned upon. Justice was
snatched away because of this vulgar joke . The Scottsboro Boys Trial, that took place in Alabama
from 1931 to 1937, revealed the consequences of false accusations, explained the loss of innocence,
and established the miscarriage of justice.
The Scottsboro Trials had set a limit to falsely accusing someone and created a legacy of racism
that had never been forgotten. Also discovered aboard were two white female millworkers, Victoria
Price, age nineteen, and Nancy Bates, age seventeen. Fearful that they, too, would be arrested, ...

This letter from Haywood Patterson shows exactly that: Anything might happen at such a place
and then again I had received several threats on my life and they would not give me any Medical
attention there and worked me quite hard every Day when I couldn t hardly get around my leg.
You see they sent me right out of the Hospital one day and the next day I was put to work
(Kinshasa 186). This proves how Haywood Patterson was being treated in a brutal way and was
not given any medical attention which is only one example of the miscarried justice. Patterson
had not been shown the proper respect because he was being worked too hard when he was ill.
If this was not because of the color of his skin then what other reason would it be? First, they had
been given unprofessional and ineffective legal counsel a real estate lawyer and an elderly
attorney who had not tried a case in decades who offered no witnesses or closing arguments to the
jury. Then the testimonies of the boys themselves conflicted with one another, as six denied the
rapes entirely while the other three alleged that the six had committed the acts; the boys later stated
they lied about the rapes because they had been beaten and threatened ( Scottsboro Boys Trials ).
The boys had their mouths taped shut because they had been beaten and threatened which is
another example of miscarried justice. They were destined to lose this case because they were
given a lousy counsel and lawyer to fight for their justice. How could there be such a lack of

  • 2. Social Communication And Human Characteristics Of Social... It is extremely important to understand the traits of social media and the human factors impacting technology because if we did not, there would be a lot more miscommunications and misunderstandings between people. For example, social media users need to understand that social media communication is limited compared to face to face communication. Factors such as Temporal Structure, which is the time it takes to send and receive a message, affect how effective social media communication is. Also, Asynchronous communication, which is communication that occurs when participants are not co present, could cause communication problems because the people who are communicating might not be as involved in a conversation. Tone and other signs that people give off to relay emotions and messages are not present in many social communication forms as well. There are three key steps in the Perception Process. The first is to Observe someone s behavior and determine what the behavior means. The second is to describe the behavior to the person objectively. It is important to not show any approval or disapproval to their actions in this step. Next, you explain your personal perception of the behavior. This step is very important because you let the person know how YOU feel, and this will allow them to respond to your feelings accordingly. It is also important to be ready to change or alter your perception based on the person s reaction to your perception checking process. Automatic social cognition or perception means that someone is arriving to conclusions about situations, people, or themselves, without much conscious awareness or intention on what the future effects might be. On the other hand, conscious or controlled cognition means that someone is stopping to think about something intentionally, because they realise that their thoughts can affect what happens in a situation. This means that automatic social cognition is always happening and can lead to someone making decisions and judgements that are not very thought out or reasonable. One time I made the automatic and unconscious assumption that someone was weird just because they watched Japanese cartoons, I told my friend and this ended up spreading to the person I was ... In William Domhoff s article, Wealth, Income, and Power, he examines wealth distribution in the United States, specifically financial inequality. He concludes that the wealthiest 10% of the United States effectively owns America, and that this is due in large part to an increase in unequal distribution of wealthbetween 1983 and 2004. Domhoff also states that the unequal wealth distribution is due in large part to tax cuts for the wealthy and the defeat of labor unions. William Domhoff s claims in the article Wealth, Income, and Power, are, for the most part, very strong. He makes strong statements regarding the concentration of wealth in the United States, and backs them up with good sources throughout. The statistics used are valid, and consistent among many trusted sources. The only area where Domhoff s argument falls short is when he references the causes of wealth inequality. In this portion, his argument is a bit weak and could be strengthened by considering other important factors effecting wealth concentration, rather than limiting it to two seemingly all important issues. Overall, upon examination of Domhoff s ideas and sources, he presents an accurate and fairly strong argument about the unequal distribution of wealth in the United States. 1 Edward N. Wolff. • 6. Crime Rate And Crime Rates Complying with the order to release 9,600 inmates by year s end will increase the crime rate. Since the release of one prisoner is associated with an increase of 14.86 crimes per year (Levitt 1996), compliance is projected to increase crimes by 142,656 per year. It is possible to minimize the social costs of crimedespite this increase in crime rate, though. If inmates convicted of property crimes are the release s focus, the subsequent social cost will be comparatively less than if it was otherwise implemented. Sentence enhancements have been shown to reduce certain types of crime (Kessler and Levitt 1999), but such measures are typically focused on the most frequent and dangerous offenders (Kessler and Levitt 1999, p. 359), and those who commit property crime are unlikely to be classified as such. So sentence reductions may increase violent crime rates, but the effect on property crime rates is unknown. The best way to comply with the order, then, is to release inmates convicted of property crimes and to not implement sentence reduction. How to structure the release Property crimes (burglary, larceny, and auto theft) are the most likely to increase following a release of prisoners, but also the least costly. They make up 84.12% of the projected increase in crime, but only 15.96% of the projected social cost (Levitt 1996). When the term is used in modern day, it is often thought of as becoming more knowledgeable about certain topics, allowing one to make more informed decisions. Furthermore, this leaves the term power with a connotation revolving around doing good, or using the power for the greater good. However, when it comes to down to environmental issues, it is often not the case. Conclusively, when it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, when examining environmental sustainability, it does not seem to be the case. When people are faced with knowledge in relation to natural resources that may be sold for personal capital, people are quick to exploit the resource without taking the environment into consideration. For example, it can be presumed that if people did not have knowledge of the abundance of cod in Newfoundland in the 1960 s, the environment would have been thriving in that area to this day. Similarly, a notion that was present in Davis article is the tragedy of the commons. This plays a key role when looking at the environment today, in a capitalist world. Furthermore, people are often too caught up in extending their own enterprises to even consider the potential effects that certain acts can have on the environment. On the other hand, there are people who obtain knowledge on something that is harming the environment, yet they do not act on that knowledge or do anything to mitigate the damage. In the modern world and especially western society, people will easily put their needs above the environment from which we live. Therefore, from a sustainability point of view, knowledge is not ... Good Night And Good Luck Film Analysis Essay Good Night, and Good Luck instead used visual techniques to convey particular messages, the most apparent being that the whole film was shot in high contrast black and white spliced with occasional real footage of McCarthy. This blend creates the impression that the film was made in the 1950s while taking Clooney s audience there, watching the conflict as it occurs, as if the broadcasts were live. Combining historic footage of McCarthy with black and white imagery further conveys the film as more realistic and era appropriate. Not only for historically accurate purposes, the employment of a black and white filter paints the film as black and white , illustrating McCarthy as black as he is doing wrong and falsely accusing the innocent of being communists, and Murrow as white as he is doing right and standing up to McCarthy. Whilst black and white film is typically seen as boring and dull, it proves to make the film s story stand out to the viewer so that by removing the distraction of vibrant colour, the viewer can focus on character s actions and dialogue and the conflict between Murrow and McCarthy. Camera techniques also support the theme of McCarthyism in Good Night, and Good Luck by showcasing actors in tight situations through expressive camera angles and shots. Niemann Pick s disease Type C (NPC) is disease in which unesterified cholesteroland other lipids accumulate in late endosomes/lysosomes (LE/L) of all cells and tissues. Resulting in excessive amounts of cholesterol accumulation within the liver and spleen and excessive amounts of other lipids accumulating in the brain. NPC can further be divided into two subgroups known as C1 and C2, which are each, caused by a different gene mutation. One of the many interesting features of this disease is that symptoms may appear as early as childhood or as late as adulthood. While both did their job of acting out the scene I believe Kenneth Branagh s 1996 film does a much better job. Kenneth choose to act the scene in a very grand ballroom, which I think was appropriate due to the grandness of soliloquy itself. In the BBC version of the scene Hamlet is shown leaning against a pillar with such low key lighting you can not tell what sort of room he is in. When Hamlet first enters the grand ballroom in the older movie he takes his time to begin speaking which is crucial between the transition between the last scene and the current scene. The length in speech gives the audience the chance to settle in for what they are about to hear. In David Tennant s version he quickly jumps into his speech not leaving much room for transition. The common audience does not understand every word of the Shakespearean language hamlet speaks and may lose interest while Hamlet continues to ramble on. The continued camera movement throughout Kenneth Branagh s movies helps the audience to stay focussed on the movie even if they do not fully understand every word Hamlet speaks. During Gregory Doran s movie, throughout the entire scene there are only two transitions and the camera never moves in either position. This adds to the viewer losing interest, not only are they bored by having nothing in the background to look at, due to the low key lighting, they are bored by the complex English language Hamlet speaks and given only two transitions and no movements to maintain their interest. The first representation of the To be or not to be speech creates multiple plots to further add in maintaining the viewers interest. It supports and carries many bodily functions, primarily in excretion of wastes and filtration of the needed nutrients and products to maintain homeostasis in the body. Ever since he was young, Timothy had marveled at how the sun lit up those hills in the morning, and since he was a creature of habit, he did the same today. Past his thoughts, and in a world of her own, Adeline Tapestry walked with her husband to work. She too enjoyed the morning, but for reasons other than its routine. Adeline had an easy smile, and delighted in the fact that she could walk with Timothy to work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even as they said yes, a cloud of doubt covered their hearts, because they knew full well that three days was not enough time to make these items. However, they had already agreed to the task. So they took the slip of paper containing the king and queen s measurements. With these deadlines in mind, the king began. We bid you farewell. He then raised his hand to wave goodbye, and the royal parade began to leave. A mixture of joy and anxiety rushed through Timothy and Adeline as the king and queen left. For although the Tapestrys were well known for their quality products, it always took them a while to actually fabricate their orders. They would have to work quickly, and precisely to overcome their time constraints. Once the crowd had finally dispersed, the Tapestrys let themselves into their shop. It was a homey place that told comforting stories through its exposed beams, and crackling fireplace. Immediately they began to pull out different fabrics, and patterns trying to decide what would best suit King Leonardo, and his wife Queen Alisha. Ideas were shared and compromises made, so that in the end it was decided that Timothy would make the king s coat, while Adeline would make the queens. Serial Killers and Mass Murderers Thomas Blankenship 6 April 2000 Mrs. Waggener English II Mass Murderers and Serial Killers Mass Murderers and Serial Killers are nothing new to today s society. These vicious killers are all violent, brutal monsters and have an abnormal urge to kill. What gives people these urges to kill? What motivates them to keep killing? Do these killers get satisfaction from killing? Is there a difference between mass murderers and serial killers or are they the same. Most serial killers are white males between the ages of 25 and 35 years old with an intelligence level of average or higher. They also tend to be married with children and have a career (Serial 1). They also seem to have a childhood past of being physically and sexually abused and are from broken homes. As children, they often wet the bed, were infatuated with masturbation, were cruel to animals, and liked playing with fire. Because of their childhood, they often develop a psychopathic nature and do not know how to feel sympathy or be in a relationship (Scott 2). Because of their insecurity, a compulsive need to feel like they are in authority becomes a vital part of their well being, even at the cost of others lives. As Americans look back at the past one hundred years, we stand in awe while looking at the drastic increase in crime. However, at the same time we have a hunger for knowledge of these crimes as we search for and interesting theory. People want to know every detail of the most brutal crimes, and moreover, how they were committed. Angie cannon insists that this is because people want to believe that it cannot happen to themselves. My Life And Future Goals In Life A common statement some might say to someone of my age is: Anyone under the age of eighteen cannot possibly experience something that will change their perspective on life; they are simply too young. Regardless of how old someone is, they can still face experiences that could one day shape them as a person. I, personally, have participated in an event that has completely impacted my life to this day, and has helped me discover my future goals in life. This event has made me want to change the world and I believe has made me a better person. In the summer of 2011, I was given what I believed was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Since I was a young girl, I only ever wanted to be around animals, and I dreamt that one day I would be able to be an animal doctor , as I once called it. So when my mother told me I would be spending two weeks at the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Adventure Camp, I was elated. I would be able to work with animals both large and small and be a part of the park s conservational efforts. Once I was there, the opportunity felt even more like a dream. I and other campers participated in activities like sleeping beside beluga whales, swimming with sharks, and meeting one of the veterinarians at the park. Everything was perfect, it seemed, until the events at the park began to become a bit emotional so to speak. After the first few days at SeaWorld Orlando, our camp counselor decided it was time to show us the new additions at the park. She took us ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nero was surrounded by death and as emperor was known for his many of his atrocities and executions, including the execution of his mother. Stressors are defined as an event or context that elevates levels of adrenaline forcing a physical or mental response. There typically is a straw that broke the camels back philosophy that builds negative stress(Bauer and Erdogan page 138). Furthermore, our world is rapidly changing. The world becoming a global economy, rapidly changing technology, and increased competition between business is changing roles and expectations. Negative stress is often the result of a combination of undefined roles, rapidly changing technology, group, family, and social influences. As the global economy, technology, and business competition increase, our roles and expectations are rapidly changing and evolving to accommodate these needs. Many changes have been beneficial. Changes like these also have brought unintended consequences. More than ever companies need to deliver goods are services leaner, have competitive advantage, and cheaper. This need can blur the lines expectations and accountabilities. This can build into unclear expectations which can grow role ambiguity. Having unclear defined expectations leads to who is accountable for what role. This can grow role conflict. Having unclear expectations can lead to role overload. This concept literally refers to the virtue of respecting one s parents, elders, and one s ancestors. However, filial piety was not limited to the familial sphere: it was also meant to serve as a model for organizing society. The earliest records defining filial pietys significance in Confucian ideology can be traced to a text from the third fourth century B.C.E., The Canon of Filial Piety. Throughout succeeding eras and dynasties, this work had been consistently regarded as the official source on the subject. The text recounts a conversation between Confucius (referred to as the Master ) and one of his disciples, Zeng Zi (referred to as Master Zeng ). Confucius explains to Zeng Zi that... The information about atoms known today is certainly much greater than what was known centuries ago. First, there was only hypotheses on this idea that everything in the world is made up of tiny, unseeable particles. As technology advanced, these hypotheses were tested, critiqued, modified, and built upon. A mass of knowledge is known regarding atoms, thanks to the research of numerous chemists and physicists. The atomic theory is the building block to the study of matter just as the atomis the building block to all matter. Around 400 BCE was when the Greek philosopher Democritus, alone with his teacher Leucippus, the idea of the atom was born (the word atom comes from the Greek word atomos or atomon meaning that which cannot be split ). This was a completely new concept, and Democritus s theory stated that atoms were indestructible and homogenous, and different states of matter were made up of differently shaped atoms: solids had sharp and pointy atoms and liquids had large round atoms. Later these ideas would be proved inaccurate, however, this was the beginning of the discovery of the atom even though the people of this time had no instruments capable of testing the theory. It was not until centuries later that the atomic theory was truly looked at again. In 1803 an English ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As imagined, the pain felt from this is excruciating, therefore earning the name unhappy or terrible triad. Being a very common injury in contact sports, the background, characteristics, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of the unhappy triad are all essential to understanding this injury. The unhappy triad, also known as blown knee , terrible triad , or O Donoghue triad , is named after Dr DH O Donoghue, an American orthopaedic surgeon who described this injury back in 1950. This injury includes full or partial tears of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), the Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL), and a meniscus. Whereas the opponent may be given a chance to give their option, they would be limited with what has already been given by the proactive party. The proactive party would always set the tone and thereby have greater say in the negotiation, regardless of the equal opportunities given to both parties (Jun Geol Ouk, 2007, pp. 606 615). Was it all just a dream? Or reality? Firstly, the speaker as I assume is a man because he is talking about a lady he met which he called her a faery s child, (14). As he said in the poem he was, Alone and palely loitering (Keats, 2), That certain stanza made me pictured a man alone with no sense of direction no sense of love. Lonesome. But they never went into much detail on what he was doing or where he came from. Moving on, just from a few lines into the poem the speaker s tone was coming off as melancholy. I got the melancholy tone because the speaker seemed very sad and gloomy with phrases as, O what can ail thee (1) almost sound like a cry for help or just a cry out of last hope. He then goes on to say I met a lady in the meads, ( 13 ), as stated previously but, this is when the poem turns from melancholy and alone to happy and almost hopeful. Continuing on, in this poem the speaker became infatuated with this lady. It was taken as a joke and it was laughed about rather than frowned upon. Justice was snatched away because of this vulgar joke . The Scottsboro Boys Trial, that took place in Alabama from 1931 to 1937, revealed the consequences of false accusations, explained the loss of innocence, and established the miscarriage of justice. The Scottsboro Trials had set a limit to falsely accusing someone and created a legacy of racism that had never been forgotten. Also discovered aboard were two white female millworkers, Victoria Price, age nineteen, and Nancy Bates, age seventeen. Fearful that they, too, would be arrested, ... This letter from Haywood Patterson shows exactly that: Anything might happen at such a place and then again I had received several threats on my life and they would not give me any Medical attention there and worked me quite hard every Day when I couldn t hardly get around my leg. You see they sent me right out of the Hospital one day and the next day I was put to work (Kinshasa 186). This proves how Haywood Patterson was being treated in a brutal way and was not given any medical attention which is only one example of the miscarried justice. Patterson had not been shown the proper respect because he was being worked too hard when he was ill. If this was not because of the color of his skin then what other reason would it be? First, they had been given unprofessional and ineffective legal counsel a real estate lawyer and an elderly attorney who had not tried a case in decades who offered no witnesses or closing arguments to the jury. Then the testimonies of the boys themselves conflicted with one another, as six denied the rapes entirely while the other three alleged that the six had committed the acts; the boys later stated they lied about the rapes because they had been beaten and threatened ( Scottsboro Boys Trials ). The boys had their mouths taped shut because they had been beaten and threatened which is another example of miscarried justice. They were destined to lose this case because they were given a lousy counsel and lawyer to fight for their justice. How could there be such a lack of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
