The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is the premier business organization in Eastern and North-Eastern India. It was established by pioneering industrialists led by G.D. Birla and was closely associated with the Indian independence movement. The ICC aims to promote business and industry in the region through various initiatives such as the North-East Initiative, Young Leaders Forum, and task forces on economic policy. The ICC also organizes the North-East Business Summit to promote investment and business opportunities in North-Eastern India between the private and public sectors. The first summit was held in 2002 in Mumbai and subsequent summits have been held in New Delhi and Guwahati.

3. About Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) The Indian Chamber of Commerce, or ICC as it is popularly known, is the premier body of business and industry in Eastern and North-Eastern India . The membership of the Chamber comprises several of the largest corporate groups in the country, with business operations all over the country and abroad. ICC was set up by a group of pioneering industrialists led by Mr G D Birla and it was closely associated with the Indian Freedom Movement , as the first organised voice of indigenous Indian Industry. Several of the distinguished industry leaders in India, such as Mr B M Birla, Sir Ardeshir Dalal, Sir Badridas Goenka, Mr S P Jain, Lala Karamchand Thapar, Mr Russi Mody, Mr Ashok Jain, have led the ICC as its President. With over seventy five years of service to the nation , the ICC retains the character of being the premier Chamber with senior Indian industry leaders forming the core of its Executive Committee or the Governing Board.

The North-East Initiative North-Eastern India, comprising 8 sister States NEIIPP Adequate availability of critical natural and energy resources North East Business Summit The first summit was held in Mumbai on July 19-20, 2002. The second summit was held in New Delhi during January 2004. The third Summit during April 10-11, 2007 at New Delhi . The fourth summit at Guwahati on September 15-16, 2008.
