IGC Web2.0 improvement

To attract the large numbers of international delegates to a attend the 34th IGC, it is
necessary to draw support from the power of social media.

Current tools:
Website, Circulars, E-Newletters and Inserts.

Issues and Limitation:
the current tools been used are not very attractive, there is not a qualified platform to
make communication between not only within IGC, but also towards the public.
 Allow internal and external stakeholders to have
  an access to information on organization as
  much as possible.
 Focusing on developing an infrastructure that
  will support the adoption of Web 2.0 paradigm.
 Allow users to create collaborative and
  integrative processes on the own use of Web
  2.0 tools available in various types such as
  Wiki, Twitter, Facebook etc.
 Standardization is applied for establishing and
  publishing. To keep every procedures under
  control.
The major proposal objectives are:
 Increased awareness of IGC organization
 Increased traffic to website
 Greater favourable perceptions of the IGC
  organisation
 Able to monitor conversations about IGC
  organisation
 Able to develop targeted activities
 Better understanding of audience perceptions of
  IGC organization
 Ability to measure the frequency of the discussion
  about IGC
To facilitate these objectives, the
  following web 2.0 tools have been
  created:
 Wikis
 Blogging and twitter
 Others: Facebook, Flickr, and
  Del.icio.us.
Primary benefits:
 Raise Awareness and attract more
  people attend IGC
 Reputation Management
 Customer Service and Feedback
 Lead Generation
Secondary Benefits:
 IGC Branding:
  Whether users directly engage with IGC
  or not, they will still see IGC’s name and
  activities within the networks they use.
 Educational Asset:
  Social media provides IGC with a free
  source of constant information from
  others.
For start-up, the total cost in first month is
  $12200 Australia dollars.
The following ROI’s will be measured for this proposal:
   Increased attendance, sponsorship, and Increased exhibitor numbers
   Increase the speed of access to data and information about IGC and its
    various departments and services.
   Decrease in the work load of the IGC staff with more user participation in
    online social media.
   Reduce the time lag in collaboration and communication
   Reduce the costs of communication .
   Increased delegates and customers satisfaction and staff engagement.
   Contributions for international and interdisciplinary communication and
    cooperation.

  • 2. To attract the large numbers of international delegates to a attend the 34th IGC, it is necessary to draw support from the power of social media. Current tools: Website, Circulars, E-Newletters and Inserts. Issues and Limitation: the current tools been used are not very attractive, there is not a qualified platform to make communication between not only within IGC, but also towards the public.
  • 3.  Allow internal and external stakeholders to have an access to information on organization as much as possible.  Focusing on developing an infrastructure that will support the adoption of Web 2.0 paradigm.  Allow users to create collaborative and integrative processes on the own use of Web 2.0 tools available in various types such as Wiki, Twitter, Facebook etc.  Standardization is applied for establishing and publishing. To keep every procedures under control.
  • 4. The major proposal objectives are:  Increased awareness of IGC organization  Increased traffic to website  Greater favourable perceptions of the IGC organisation  Able to monitor conversations about IGC organisation  Able to develop targeted activities  Better understanding of audience perceptions of IGC organization  Ability to measure the frequency of the discussion about IGC
  • 5. To facilitate these objectives, the following web 2.0 tools have been created:  Wikis  Blogging and twitter  Others: Facebook, Flickr, and Del.icio.us.
  • 6. Primary benefits:  Raise Awareness and attract more people attend IGC  Reputation Management  Customer Service and Feedback  Lead Generation
  • 7. Secondary Benefits:  IGC Branding: Whether users directly engage with IGC or not, they will still see IGC’s name and activities within the networks they use.  Educational Asset: Social media provides IGC with a free source of constant information from others.
  • 8. For start-up, the total cost in first month is $12200 Australia dollars. The following ROI’s will be measured for this proposal:  Increased attendance, sponsorship, and Increased exhibitor numbers  Increase the speed of access to data and information about IGC and its various departments and services.  Decrease in the work load of the IGC staff with more user participation in online social media.  Reduce the time lag in collaboration and communication  Reduce the costs of communication .  Increased delegates and customers satisfaction and staff engagement.  Contributions for international and interdisciplinary communication and cooperation.
