The following Impact Report is created by the Good City Foundation to report on the footprint and conversion of values into action in local communities.
About Rainmaking Series 2021:
Rainmaking Series 2021 is a special series of webinars across 11 countries in Asia, Africa and North America that explore the critical matters in local context such as Affordable Housing in Cambodia, Environmental Sustainability Planning in Vietnam, Reindustrialisation Development and Future of Jobs in Singapore and Hong Kong and Financial Hub Transformation in Hong Kong through Family Offices, sponsored by Tsangs Group and supported by Invest Hong Kong (StartmeupHK).
The Series serves to aggregate local key stakeholders in public policies (government), corporates and technology & innovation sectors regarding the corresponding development issues. The webinar explores the topics and provides better awareness education to the local public, and extends to the formation of specific public policy-driven “Smart City Working Groups” in local cities (with the corporates and governments). The Series also serves to build extensive technology project pipelines and public policymakers network in the regions for supporting regional development with the World Economic Forum (IoT and Urban Transformation Committee).

Urban Data Lab in Bandung City
Urban Data Lab is consolidated as a flagship development
project in 2022 with Indonesia being the host country of
G20 Summit in 2022, upon the continual support in the
Rainmaking Series.
Urban Data Lab (the “Lab”) is a next-generation technology
collaborative operation and distribution partnership between
the Good City Foundation (the “GCF”) and Indonesia
Creative Cities Network (the “ICCN”). The technology
collaboration and distribution is enabled by transforming an
old historic heritage building in Braga District of Bandung
City into a smart digital experience centre. The digital
experience centre focuses on urban data analysis, smart
city visualisation and smart urban innovation education
distribution with wearable VR devices at sponsored or an
affordable price.
The Lab is structured as a hybrid of non-profit foundation
and a limited company to provide sufficient and specific
legal entities for operation, technology implementation and
access to financing.
Smart City Working Groups (Cambodia, Sri Lanka and Indonesia)
Smart City Working Groups are successfully established across 4 cities in Indonesia [Semarang and West Java (Bandung)],
Cambodia (Phnom Penh) and Sri Lanka (Gampaha) respectively, on various specific urban transformation public policy
advisory and benchmarking, corresponding to the critical development challenges highlighted in the Rainmaking Series,
where the direct impact of Smart City Working Groups cover a population of 8,890,751 with policy impacts.
