For a project to be successful, accurate cost estimation during the design phase is very important. Estimate decides whether the proposed plan matches the funds available or not. In this project we estimate the quantities required for the construction of the Tailor shop and later calculate the cost by preparing the abstract of cost.

Types of teams
Formal teams are created for specific, important purposes and have structured operations to achieve goals within set constraints like budgets and timelines. Examples include job interviewing teams and event planning teams. Informal teams form more casually to improve work processes in less important ways without constraints, like sports teams discussing game tactics. The optimal team size is around five members, large enough for diverse skills and perspectives but small enough for involvement and efficiency. Temporary teams work together just for one project, while permanent teams collaborate continuously as part of an organization. Benefits of teams include setting and monitoring goals, reviewing performance, sharing expertise, fostering innovation, and identifying talents.
Team log
The team set an objective to profit from operating a tuck shop event. They expanded on this objective by setting profit goals of £100, £250, and £500 along with some stretch goals. The team leader was chosen based on their previous experience leading a team. Roles and tasks were assigned by the team leader to spread the workload evenly. The author's workload included planning the layout of the event space and creating posters and a price list. Conflicts were resolved by listening to both sides and finding compromises. Constructive criticism was used to address underperformance in a suggestive rather than negative way to prevent conflicts. Identifying and addressing potential conflicts helped prevent issues between members with different work styles.
Team development
1. Developing as a team, especially for permanent teams, allows members to become better at their jobs and work more effectively together over time. Temporary teams should still develop team skills for future use.
2. Building a team is important for organizational success. The team leader plays a key role in the team's performance. Individual team members should have their own skills to contribute and collaborate effectively.
3. Recruitment should focus on both bringing in new talent and retaining current employees to allow the team to build experience and knowledge together over time through developing skills like leadership.

Homebuilders are walking a fine line when it comes to new projects as high mortgage rates curb demand.
New residential construction, including single-family homes and multifamily, dropped 11.3% month over month in August to 1.283 million units on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to Census Bureau data released Tuesday. That's down 14.8% compared with a year ago and well below the 1.44 million units economists surveyed by Bloomberg projected.
But authorized residential permits — an indicator of potential future activity — rose 6.9% to 1.543 million permits in August from July. That was still down 2.7% from last August. Single-family permits, though, were up 2% from July to 949,000. Multifamily permits came in at 535,000.
The data reflects two opposing forces builders are trying to balance: the ongoing need for new construction to fill in limited inventory and elevated mortgage rates that are hurting their biggest customer right now, the first-time homebuyer.
"High mortgage rates are clearly taking a toll on builder confidence and consumer demand, as a growing number of buyers are electing to defer a home purchase until long-term rates move lower," Robert Dietz, chief economist of the National Association of Home Builders, said Monday in a press release after builder confidence dropped for the second straight month.

However, he pointed out a notable trend: over the last two months, the year-to-date order gap has narrowed during historically slow periods. While job shops have seen decreased orders, other industries that benefited from reshoring or government investments have helped fill the gap.
Among specific sectors, job shops, the largest customer segment, placed their lowest total monthly orders since August 2020. In contrast, metal valve manufacturers recorded their third-highest monthly order value on record, last seen in September 2018, making up nearly 5% of the total manufacturing technology order value for July 2023. Manufacturers of motor vehicle transmissions continued to order machinery at an elevated pace. However, the aerospace industry continued to order below its early 2022 peaks, with hopes that recent projects like the federal government's $1.5 billion investment in communications satellites might reverse this trend.

Information technology was the worst-performing sector in the S&P 500, down nearly 2%. Adobe shares fell more than 4% even after the software firm posted better-than-expected quarterly results. Shares of Arm Holdings were lower one day after its successful public debut.
Auto stocks General Motors and Stellantis N.V. were higher Friday, while Ford Motor was about flat. Thousands of members of the United Auto Workers went on strike after failing to reach a deal with the automakers Thursday night.
Elsewhere, Lennar shares slid 3%. The home construction firm posted third-quarter results that beat on the top and bottom lines.
On the economic front, the University of Michigan's consumer sentiment survey showed one-year inflation expectations dropped to 3.1% in
September, tied for the lowest since January 2021. Also, the five-year outlook fell to 2.7%, matching its lowest since December 2020.

financial assets represent claim for future benefit or cash. Financial assets are formed by establishing contracts between participants. These financial assets are used for collection of huge amounts of money for business purposes.
Two major Types: Debt Securities and Equity Securities.
Debt Securities are Also known as fixed-income securities or instruments. The type of assets is formed by establishing contracts between investor and issuer of the asset.
• The first type of Debit securities is BONDS. Bonds are issued by corporations and government (both local and national government).
• The second important type of Debit security is NOTES. Apart from similarities associated with notes and bonds, notes have shorter term maturity.
• The 3rd important type of Debit security is TRESURY BILLS. These securities have short-term ranging from three months, six months, and one year. Issuer of such securities are governments.
• Above discussed debit securities are mostly issued by governments and corporations. CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSITS CDs are issued by Banks and Financial Institutions. Risk factor associated with CDs gets reduced when issued by reputable institutions or Banks.
Following are the risk attached with debt securities: Credit risk, interest rate risk and currency risk
There are no fixed maturity dates in such securities, and asset’s value is determined by company’s performance. There are two major types of equity securities: common stock and preferred stock.
Common Stock: These are simple equity securities and bear no complexities which the preferred stock bears. Holders of such securities or instrument have the voting rights when it comes to select the company’s board of director or the business decisions to be made.
Preferred Stock: Preferred stocks are sometime referred to as hybrid securities, because it contains elements of both debit security and equity security. Preferred stock confers ownership rights to security holder that is why it is equity instrument

Potential growth of company is required in competitive market. So, these securities are used for capital generation, and then uses it for company’s growth.

Companies have to cover multiple expenses and expansion of business. They can also use equity instruments for repayment of debits. So, there are multiple uses for securities.
