 Steroids are class of medication called Anti-
inflammatory drugs.
 Used to treat inflammation & inflammatory disease,
Disorders.
 They have ability to reduce and block effect of
chemicals responsible for inflammation.
 The adrenal cortex secretes steroidal hormones which
have glucocorticoid, mineralocorticoid and weakly
androgenic activities.

 There are androgens with anabolic properties and are rarely
prescribed, but are commonly abused by athletes in an
attempt to enhance perfomance.
