The paper presents a new method for generating image thumbnails that effectively embeds blur and noise information, significantly enhancing user satisfaction in digital imagery. Current thumbnail methods often fail to indicate the presence of blur and noise, leading to user frustration; this proposed method, based on direct pixel-based down-sampling, provides a clearer representation of image quality. Experimental results demonstrate that the new approach outperforms existing algorithms by accurately capturing and displaying blur and noise details in the thumbnails.
