On Monday, April, 18, 2016, I attended a concert held by Wake Forest University s
Department of Music. The performance was titled Student Chamber Music I
Concert and it began promptly at 7:30pm. 7. The program that was distributed

In the book Animal Farm by George Orwell, the author explains how absolute
power corrupts absolutely. Orwell uses the animals on the Manor Farm to
represent this. The animals are upset because they feel they aren t receiving good
treatment on the farm by Mr Jones. They decide one night to rebel against the
farmer and successfully overthrows him, which leads them to pick a new leader.
This starts the feud between the two prize pigs Napoleon and Snowball. After a
long debate the animals pick Napoleon to be the leader, and he proceeded to run
out Snowball. Napoleon became corrupt and continued to take away rations and
increased working hours. He started to make relations with humans and by the end
started to walk like a human. Orwell presents this idea of power makes people
corrupt, which would conclude that if given a chance Snowball would present the

leader. He was looked up to by the rest of the animals and was the ringleader of

When you see the homeless what do you think about? Do you see them and feel
disgust or are you someone who wonders how and why they are where they are, or
maybe, you are one of the few who want to help and who are able to. In the U.S.,
more than 3.5 million people experience homelessness each year and that number is
growing. They are families with little children, people who are trying to escape
domestic violence, people with mental illness, veterans who have served our country,
and many more. From what I read in Jonathan Kozol s Untouchables city officials in
various places are only coming up with short termsolutions, that aren t helping the
homeless. City officials are just trying to get rid of the homeless from their cities
or area. I think it s time that more individuals and groups, really gets involved and
figure out a way to help those who are already homeless, and stop future people
from becoming homeless. We have to come up with ways to help the homeless
readjust and get back into the world. The first thing we as people need to do, is
really educate other younger and older people on the homeless. People don t have a
clear insight into who homeless people are. For example, I went and asked several
young kids in my neighborhood who they think the homeless are and for the most
part they said they are drug addicts and people who just don t want to live within
society. People have so many misconceptions about homeless people they judge them
