2. The Roman Colosseum Of Rome
When I ask you to imagine Italy and all the vast architecture, what do picture? I am
going to assume you would picture colosseums. The piece of art I chose to research
was the granddaddy of them all, the Roman Colosseum. This is potentially the most
famous monument to survive the classical period. Today, the Colosseumis one of
Rome s most popular tourist attractions, attracting millions of visitors every year.
This massive amphitheater is located in the center of Rome, Italy. During ancient
roman times these massive amphitheaters were commonly placed around cities.
Eventually there were well over 250 amphitheaters in the Roman empire(Hopkins).
However, no other amphitheater competes in size. What sparked the want to build
such a massive amphitheater? Why is this so important? Years prior to the
construction of the Colosseum, Rome was dealing with a massive civil war which
destroyed the city. At the time of construction, Rome s emperor was Vespasian s
and his decision to build the Colosseum on the site of Nero s lake can be seen as a
gesture of returning a part of the city to the people which emperor Nero had
appropriated for his own use (Roman Colosseum History). However, Vespasian
never saw the completion of his Colosseum due to his untimely death. His son, Titus
would go on to open the Colosseum to the public in AD 80. The Colosseum
remained in service for 450 years. The Colosseum is also known as The Flavian
Amphitheatre(Roman). The Colosseum had seating for

Look for other proverbs as you read. Cowry shells threaded on strings were
traditionally used as a means of exchange by many African cultures. The villages

* This important quote shows how the Igbo people use their art of rhetoric so plainly.
The quote shows how our lifestyle is one of fast paced conversations, yet the Igbo
prize conversation as an art form. That art form shows how the Igbo people use
rhetoric so plainly. We all know proverbs are meant to be well thoughtout and
intentional but not quickly digested and forgotten. In the quote the metaphor
suggests that words are organized by proverbs for digestion. Palm oil was a
common form of cooking oil, and many foods were prepared with it for use. For that
reason, proverbs are the source by which words or conversations are made. The same
value that they place on food, the nourishment of life, to words, the sustenance of
communication and for these reasons the

Parents knowing that their child is in a secure place is a wonderful feeling. The
feeling of knowing your child is in good hands and the opportunity to go see your

the mother can t go to school because there is nowhere for her child to go.

5. A Study On Neurodevelopmental Psychiatric Disorders
Neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders such as autism spectrum disorders,
schizophrenia and anxiety disorders, which typically emerge in children and
adolescents, have been extensively investigated worldwide for decades. The
pathogenesis and mechanism remained unclear, and no effective treatment has been
identified so far. Recently, a variety of studies identified prenatal stress (PS) as a
risk factor for neurodevelopmental socioemotional disorders (Khashan et al., 2008,
Kinney et al., 2008, Ronald et al., 2010, Monk et al., 2012). A popular thesis
proposed that socioemotional disorders arise from PS induced perturbations to early
brain development, especially the neurophysiology of amygdala. Various studies have
shown that the amygdala is implicated in the pathophysiology of neurodevelopmental
psychiatric disorders (Quirk and Gehlert, 2003), also several studies have identified
that PS affects amygdala development (Kraszpulski et al., 2006, Laloux et al., 2012).
However, little is known about how PS influences the amygdala developmental
trajectory. Ehrlich et al. conducted this study to first investigate whether PS has an
effect on socioemotional behavior of adolescents and adults, and secondly whether
and how PS alters amygdala neuronexcitability. They were motivated to explain the
relationship among PS, amygdala neuronal activity and socioemotional behaviors
because understanding the trajectory of brain development can provide potential
targets for intervention of the
6. Darwin On The Origin Of Species Essay
Charles Darwin begins his book, On The Origin of Species, by outlying the idea of
variation under domestication. Darwin opens by saying that species that are
domesticated are much more different from one another than species observed in
the wild (Darwin, p. 7). The major point Darwin is trying to get across in the first
chapter of his book is the idea that variation is a direct result of the inheritance from
parent to offspring. This is a new idea being generated because many scientists
before Darwin believed that variation was a result of environmental conditions. On
page 11 of chapter one, Darwin does seem to revert to previous ideology when he
provided the example of ducks with strong wings for flight in wild ducks, but

The preservation of favorable variation and the rejection of injurious variations, I
call Natural Selection (Darwin, p. 81). Darwin goes on to compare both natural
selection and artificial selection within chapter four. Artificial selection can only act
on external and visible characteristics. This is a major difference between artificial
selection and natural selection. Natural selection acts on organisms both on internal
and external characters, it does not care about appearance, but only deals with the
usefulness of the trait for the organism. Man selects only for his own good; Nature
only for that of the being which she tends (Darwin, p. 83). The process of natural
selection happens over a long period of time and is a continual process. The evidence
of natural selection cannot instantaneously be observed because it is an accumulation
of small changes over

Relationship between Fantasy and Time
Fantasy and time have an absolute relationship as described in the stories The Book
of Martha and Mrs. Todd s Shortcut . The authors have tried to bring out how fantasy
literature and its relationship with time can be used to get the mind of the audience
and its results to the imaginations of the reader in that sense. Therefore, in
understanding the exact imaginations and how they affect or are affected by time,
then the relationship arguments can be explored with specific and distinctive examples
Literature fantasy tries to depict the unbelievable imaginations in the subject of
existence. Its close relation with time comes if the exact setting ... Show more content

Taking the narrative of Octovia Butler, Martha prays. This time is very unknown
of the exact duration she did this and also, readers wonder how comes she is in her
room and praying then in few minutes she gets herself in heaven and in the
presence of God? Is it the power of prayer? She tries to imagine the scenario and it
seems to be like a dream to her in this case. In time factor, it is impossible to move
such fast.
Again, fantasy and time relationship can richly help in comparing the impossible
actions with what we tend to have an idea about. In the narrative of Octavia, there is
fantasy relation and the time when Martha started to compare God, on his physical
with Michelangelo Moses and his dressing denies this. The reaction of God really is
unrealistic and the whole story is like a dream to Martha. It defines so perfectly the
interaction between the time that Martha was in heaven and the imaginations that she
gets herself and her mind
9. Hand Hygiene Compliance Report
Hand washing has been proven to be one of the most effective means of preventing
the spread of infection in healthcare facilities (Centers for Disease, 2015). An
outpatient dialysis facility noted that staff was very complacent about hand hygiene.
The Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goal 7 (JCPSG) states that healthcare
organizations must perform an accurate baseline assessment of hand hygienein order
to identify opportunities for improvement (The Joint Commission, 2016). 90,000
people die each year from hospital acquire infections at about a cost of 4.5 billion
dollars (Fairchild, 2009). By increasing hand hygiene compliance could save this
facility many dollars and not only that many precious lives.
The purpose of this paper is to take a look at an investigational look at change in
hand washing compliance through education and covert observation to see if the
change was effective.
B Summary This brief summary addresses the hand hygiene proposal for the
advanced nursing practice field experience. The organizational change I am
investigating is an increase in staff compliance with hand hygiene in an outpatient
dialysis facility. The population affected by this change is all outpatient dialysis
patients. My change leader is the Director of Education for the facility. My plan for
conducting this investigation was to find a current and ongoing quality improvement
that was being conducted and look at what was being done to make the change and
the outcomes

be valuable tools for leads generation. It is the best place to get your next client,
referral source or even a friend who might eventually result in new business.
However, without a well thought out strategy, the time and resources you invest will
not result in quality leads.
Generating event based primes is very simple with a given etiquette and approach.
Here are a few tips on how to get leads on your next networking or marketing event ...

Be more specific and engaging on what you do
A person should be more specific on what one does by asking himself/herself why
people they are connecting with should care about what they are saying. After that
craft an engaging conversation which will create a rapport between the two of you.
Also, to be more appealing, use your body language like nodding to show you are
still listening and following which will develop a trust. All these give you individual
control over what happens, and it would not be a wonder if your prospects ask for
contact information next.
Targeted mingling A person should always set a goal to meet 2 5 people and not try
associating and talking to everyone in the event. It is even said that sometimes, one
solid connection is plenty. A pre planning on whom to meet and talk to should be
done. After that a serious research on the selectively chosen leads should be done
before the conference, to ensure that you understand what they do and get ways in
which your business can improve that. Through targeted mingling, one has higher
chances of generating meaningful leads which will build and grow his/her brand
Consider your leads networks
When choosing whom to talk to, always remember that people can help you get leads
indirectly from someone in their network. As you approach and make connections
with new people, you should thoroughly engage with them. You should not leave
unfinished conversations just because you have seen someone who s more

12. Examples Of Metafiction In Northanger Abbey
Metafiction Northanger Abbey is a perfect example of the clever use of
metafiction to get across the point that regular life doesn t need to be all that
exciting to be enjoyable. Jane Austen wrote the novel as a parody of the gothic
genre by using the structure of the genre and being satirical with it and the
importance of this I think is to convey while books are fascinating they are not real
life. Austen had written other more serious gothic works but this one specifically
wasn t made to mock the genre but point out to society how well its conventions
work in a real world setting which is to say they don t. Austen also writes the novel
metafictionally for the betterment of society of her time. The very first line of the

Austen wants to see the change in the world and she is trying to make it possible the
only way she can think of. Northanger Abbey is a metafiction because it reflects a
fictional story in a non fictional way it allows the reader to be so engrossed in a
story that ends up being something that could happen to anyone of that time. What s
gained from this novel is the movement forward of society, the progression from not
only the gothic genre but the ideas tied to it. With this parody Austen allowed the
forward thinking of other authors to be more playful with their genres. Austen had a
real world effect from her novel which is what any author wants its something they
seek, and she accomplished it with this meta fiction. With characters Austen created

Regulatory Oversight and Recall Congress began to hold high profile hearings on
automobile safety in 1965. In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed both the
National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and the Highway Safety Act into
law. The two bills gave the federal government authority to set and enforce safety
standards for vehicles and roads. The NTMVSA was the first legislation
mandating federal safety standards for motor vehicles. Although the safety
standards in the NTMVSA were watered down in response to industry lobbyists, it
required important safety features that the current generation of car drivers would
never expect to be absent from a vehicle: seat belts for every passenger, impact
absorbing steering wheels, rupture resistant fuel tanks, door latches that stayed
latched in crashes, side view mirrors, shatter resistant windshields, windshield
defrosters, lights on the sides of cars as well as the front and back, and the padding
and softening of interior surfaces and protrusions. (History.com) Also in 1966, two
new government agencies the National Traffic Safety Agency and the National
Highway Safety Agency were created to carry out the safety programs authorized
under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and the Highway Safety
Act. The two agencies were consolidated in 1970 and became the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration ( NHTSA ). NHTSA is responsible for reducing
deaths, injuries and economic losses resulting from
14. Erikson s Stages Of Cognitive Development
There are various theories of development that provide a strategic framework on
how individuals and societies interpret the growth. development and learning of
human beings. Throughout the history of psychology, psychologists have proposed
numerous theories to predict and interpret different aspects of human behavior.
Some theories are well supported by researchers; and others, are still under
examination or partially accepted by researchers. Two theories, Erikson s Theory of
Psychological Development, and Piaget s Stages of Cognitive Development are
both well accepted and have helped to contribute to our knowledge of the human
mind and behavior. Theories such as Freud s Psychosexual Theory have not had
much success and have been replaced by other theories to explain human growth and
development. Spiritual development is a dimension that has as much significance as
psychological and cognitive development. Erickson theorized that personality
develops in a series of stages, and how social experiences impacts human
development across the lifespan. He emphasized more identity and behavior in the
ego, which related to the attitudes and feelings of self and others (Broderick and
Blewitt, 2015). He believes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
al (2005) suggest that minimal evidence and research has been conducted on spiritual
development, however, they hypothesize that spiritual development is a dimension of
human life that is as important as cognitive, social, or emotional development and
interrelated to each other. It is a dimension that is a person s effort to mix various
aspects of development. Spiritual development introduces questions about the nature
of spiritual change, transformation, growth, or maturity through life phases or stages.
The authors emphasize that understanding the continuity of childhood and
adolescence is as vital to understanding spiritual development as it is to recognizing
the phases and stages that are part of that process (Roehlkepartain et. al,

In 2015, an estimated 3 million adolescents aged 12 to 17 in the United States had
at least one major depressive episode in the past year ( Major Depression Among
Adolescence ). One of the leading mental health issue amongst teen in America is
depression. Depression (major depressive disorder) is defined in the American
Psychiatric Association as causing an overwhelming feeling of sadness and loss of
interest in activity. One must understand the causes of depression, how depression
affects the adolescence, and how to treat adolescence depression in order to help
those suffering from depression. To be successful in helping adolescence suffering

The unstable balancing of hormones in the body can trigger the onset of depression.
When neurotransmitters (natural brain chemicals) are impaired while carrying
signals to other parts of the body, nerve systems and receptors can change which will
cause depression. Environmental factors in ones life is the third cause which can lead
an adolescent to being susceptible to developing depression. Environmental factors
that can cause depression are factors of everyday life that bring stress and discomfort
to the adolescent. The home life of an adolescent will determine the quality of life he
has. Divorce, financial instability, dysfunctional family, lack of sleep, abuse, death,
bulling, and school are just a few of the numerous environmental factors that can
negatively impact the adolescents life leading to depression. Not only is the cause of
depression necessary in understanding those who suffer from depression, but
understanding the affect it has on the adolescent is necessary to help those suffering.
Depression affects the adolescent emotionally, physically, and functionally. In
understanding these three factors, one can understand the mindset and mentality the
depressed adolescent is feeling. Emotions are essential to determining the outcome of
ones day. If ones emotions are unstable, it creates an internal battle of feeling at
peace. Depression causes adolescents to impress negative feelings through their day.

course, it is only when the Ghost enters that Hamlet loses control of the scene. The
father figure is seen here as theatrically and sexually castrating. From the beginning of
the scene to the moment when the spirit appears, Hamlet dominates the stage both
theatrically and sexually. The Queen speaks no more than twelve lines while the
18. The Components Of Mass Communication
For many years now, the task of creating a more stable and reliable form of
communication for sharing information with people as well as with the world is
something that many people across the globe have studied, redesigned, improved, and
rebuilt. The spark of mass communication is all thanks to one man named Alexander
Graham Bell who invented the first telephone. Bell s invention of the telephone has
opened a multitude of opportunities that have extended the way we communicate in
the world today. Bell s invention went public on March 7, 1916, and many people
gathered to see a demonstration that would start a revolution of communication
beyond even Bell s imagination (A Rural Broadband...). That evenings demonstration
made clear that the telephone service was poised to revolutionize communications
and unite every part of the country... (A Rural Broadband...). Bell s invention was the
first reliable, and cost effective way for communication until just a few decades later
when someone decided to take Bell s invention to the next level and help to bring us
public Internet. Just like Bell, AT T is determined to create the world s first truly
reliable and cost effective Internet connection for rural areas by revisiting an old
concept that, at the time, was proved not reliable. I believe that we can help to cut
cost even more by creating a partnership between the FCC and the DOE (Department
of Energy). Using AT T s current plans, we can partner with other companies and
government
19. Good And The Social Sector
Good to Great and the Social Sector is a short essay, written by Jim Collins,
designed to accompany his book, Good to Great. In this essay he discusses the
principles addressed in Good to Great and their relationship to the social sector.
Collins examines the frequent idea that social sector companies, including public
schoolsystems, should strive to be run similar to traditional businesses. While most
traditional businesses are mediocre, at best, the refined language, according to
Collins, should be that social sector companies should strive for greatness, which is
not synonymous with traditional businesses. Collins states Greatness is not a
function of circumstances. Greatness it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious
choice... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to do this strong output goals must be established. Unlike traditional
businesses most social sector businesses do not use financial profits as output
goals and thus should not be the company s focus. Rather, social sector businesses
should assess their performance based on their mission and assess the outputs
relative to the company s resources. By changing focus from inputs to outputs
social sectors can begin to achieve the greatness they desire. In the public school
system this shift has been made by changing our focus away from the finances we
have, input, to a clearly defined focus on producing college and career ready
graduates (output). This refocusing is aimed at making our school great as measured
by a great product, our graduates. Collins states A great organization is one that
delivers superior performance and makes a distinct impact over a long period of
time. (p.5) The second principle, Level 5 Leadership Getting things done within a
diffused power struggle, suggests that decision must be made for the good of the
entire organization rather than one individual. While decisions may be difficult and
unpopular, those that are best for the organization must be on the forefront of the
business. Collins discusses that leadership is not about doing what is popular or nice
nor about what everyone thinks is best. Leadership and
20. Energy Resources And Energy Management
1.3 Energy Misused in Campus
Energy management supplies sizeable options throughout helping significant
community organizations including colleges, hospitals wards, government workplace
houses and other who have high energy consumption personal operations cut costs
substantially. Energy management is something electricity providers as well as
electricity corporations accomplish to ensure that his or her electric power programs
as well as alternative electricity solutions produce enough electricity to satisfy need
in which the volume of electricity which his or her shoppers require. It can be used
to refer to method for handling and regulating one s own levels of personal energy.
Energy wastage can arise throughout Malaysian colleges mainly due to ineffective
utilization of energy as well as not enough consciousness involving constructing
consumers.
There are many instances of energy misused in campus such as energy uses in
heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) must normally be closely tied to
occupancy hours. Sizeable energy can be wasted in case a building is warmed or
even cooled off while no one using it, or even in the event that an entire building
can be warmed or cooled off while only a couple of rooms are in use. The maximum
energy are use when we want to cold the room until attain the best heat range.
Secondly, unplug your home appliances when not in utilised. This process targets

21. The Effects Of Caffeine On Anaerobic Performance
The Effects of Caffeine on Anaerobic Performance
Introduction
Caffeine is a natural stimulant which is commonly used in sport for increasing heart
rate via the nervous system. Anaerobic performance is when an exercise or activity
is done in limited volumes of oxygen this can be examples such as jumping,
sprinting and the overall effects it has on sports. There are very little articles in
which write about the effects of caffeine on anaerobic performance in which most
articles talk about 3mg/kg, however, there is very little research on the effects of
using lower dosage on anaerobic performance. The main purpose of this text will
determine the effect of caffeine on anaerobic respiration and the effect it has on
performance
Discussion
Jump performance is a form of anaerobic performance that is used in sports.
Caffeine has shown to improve anaerobic performance by increasing muscle power
and agility on volleyball players Del Coso et al. (2014). The study suggested that
caffeine increased in volleyball skills required such as jump height by 3mg/kg,
however, the study didn t measure lower dosage to see if it will still have the same
effect also Abian et al. (2014) found that caffeine had a significant effect on jump
performance in badminton players. Both trials support the effects of caffeine on
anaerobic respiration. Both trials underwent a double blind trial in which both
volunteers and experimenters had no effects on the results, this allows the results to
be more reliable.
22. Daisy Buchanan Character
Defended as one of the most sympathetic female characters in classic literature and
simultaneously argued to be selfish and conniving, The Great Gatsby s Daisy
Buchanan is a controversial woman, to say the least. From the moment that she is
found in the view of the book s narrator, Nick Carraway, she s described as an
otherworldly beauty of ethereal quality. This suits the character, who can often be
equally airheaded and helpless in the way that she speaks, as if she s performing
for an audience only she can see. At the same time, she is a self proclaimed cynic,
possessing a deep understanding of the world around her and her place in society as
a woman, going so far as to wish that her daughter would grow up to be a beautiful,
little fool because that is all that she can be in... Show more content on

The character s behavior can be confusing to a reader having high and low points
that can be hard to keep up with. It is a plausible, however, that Daisy Buchanan
exhibits symptoms of bipolar disorder. Also, known as manic depressive illness,
patients that are diagnosed with this are shown to have unusual shifts in mood,
energy, activity levels, and the ability to carry out day to day tasks (National
Institute of Mental Health, 2016). Shifts in mood are divided into two types of
episodes. High points, or manic episodes, are characterized by feelings of elation,
talking about many different things at once, and performing risky activities. Low
points, or depressive episodes, are characterized by feelings of sadness and/or
emptiness, a lack of enjoyment, and having trouble concentrating (National Institute
of Mental Health, 2016). Daisy Buchanan exhibits these

their own personal wants and needs, for family and friends, or for prestige. These
consumers vary in age, income, education, and lifestyles. This report briefly discusses
the influences involved in consumer purchases and identifies the consumer process
used in order to purchase a product or service.
Consumer decision making is the process of making purchase decisions based on
cognitive and emotional influences such as impulse, family, friends, advertisers, role

purchase was a major decision in itself, I had to face the dilemma of purchasing (or
not) an extended warranty package offered by the dealership. (Schiffman Kanuk,
2007, p. 532) According to an Internet article by Chen, Kalra, Sun (2009):
Warranties have since become ubiquitous at the checkout aisle, and extended
service contracts have become a core product for retailers, generating about US$15
billion in revenue annually. According to Business Week, in 2003 warranties
accounted for more than half of Best Buy s profit and almost 100 percent of
Circuit City s. The dealership offered a Mechanical Protection Plan (MMP),
Guaranteed Automobile Protection Plan (GAP), On Gard Theft Protection, and
Premier Vehicle Coverage for new, pre owned and certified vehicles, with a total
service contract of $2,990.00 above the purchase price. There appears to be two
different need or problem recognition styles for consumers, which includes the
actual state types, wherein the consumer perceives they have a problem when a
product fails to perform satisfactorily, and the desired state types, for whom the
desire for something new may trigger the decision process. As I was purchasing a

24. The Rationale For The Choice Of Title Essay
1.0Title and the Rationale for the Choice of Title The title of this training program
is Say No to Sexual Harassment . Sexual harassment means undesirable or
unwelcome sexual conduct which makes people feel annoyed, embarrassed or scared
(University of Minnesota 2015). Normally, female employees are most likely to be
the pity victims of sexual harassment. However, male employees can be the victims
too. Appendix 5 shows the snapshot of statistics about sexual harassmentin the
workplace.
For most female today, it is important to get a job in order to be successful and
independent women. It is a transformation from past decades. The amount of
female employees in the workplace is getting more and more. In Malaysia, female
employees consist of 38.60 % of total labor force in 2013. By comparing to 1990,
involvement of women in the workplace has increased 1.1% (Trading Economics
2015). Appendix 6 shows the percentages of female workforce in the workplace in
Malaysia in different years. Since involvement of women in the workplace is getting
more and more, we believe that sexual harassment against female employees will
increase.
The aim of this training program is to help trainees understand sexual harassment
more in the workplace. Sexual harassment is part of the sex discrimination
(Australian Human Rights Commission 2015). Sexual harassment in the workplace
becomes a common issue in this world. Therefore, sexual harassment training must

Thesis:
My objective will be to analyze Of a Waterfront (Kazan, 1954) by scenes the use of
black and white filter.
Opening Section:
On the waterfront opens by introducing small corrupt local that are mobsters that
run the docks Hoboken, New Jersey, across the river Manhattan. Terry Malloy, is
an incomprehensible boxer in his late twenties, which now he is a petty errand boy
for the local mobsters that are the union head of the docks. The local mob uses
Terry as a decoy to kill Joey Doyle by drawing Doyle out of his apartment to the
roof then the local mobsters push him off the roof. Terry is shocked as he thought
they were going to only rough up Doyle making Terry as an accomplice to the
murder. Doyle was killed because he was going to break the policy of Deaf and
Dumb by testifying in court.
The locals gather around Doyle s corpse, Doyle s father worker at the dock tells
everyone to be quiet, he told his son to be quiet as Doyle s testimony would affect
the workers at the dock. You can hear in the background as the local priest comes to
give the prayer for Doyle, Doyle s sister screaming and crying.
Terry returns to Johnny Friendly s bar, and then goes to the smoky barroom, where
the local mobsters hang out including Terry s brother Charlie, Terry is really angry,

26. Lightning Strikes Quotes
Lightning makes no sound until it strikes. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said
Lightning makes no sound until it strikes . This quote means that something bad or
destructive cannot be found or uncovered until it has been put into action. It also
means that a revolution can be assembled quietly and that it can strike with power.
MLK said this because he wanted the populace to learn how a something that is quiet
can strike with unknowing force. In his case, the Negro Revolution was his cause of
this quote. After being treated badly, they decided to make a quiet revolution, and
then strike with frightening force. I think that the quote let your plans be dark and
impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt. by Sun
27. The Effects Of Overdevelopment On The Environment
A huge forest with lots of trees is near. The gargantuan trees Stand tall and straight,
like soldiers. But this lovely picture is just a memory. A huge fire (man made of
course) quickly spreads throughout the forest and even nearby areas, too. The
smell of burning wood fills nearby areas. In the once strong forest is now factories
and energy plants. The smog hovers over the land like clouds ready to storm. Cities
are being built left and right, with no care for the environment. It s new population
causes noisy traffic. This is a burden to all nearby people. Overdevelopment is a huge
problem that harms our environment. Many objectives and other urban plans support
the clearing of land. Many harmful effects slowly kill off Earth. Solutions are much
needed for this worldwide problem. But if the solutions are ignored, like they
currently are, the world can change for the much worse. In 50 years from now,
Earth would not be an enjoyable place. Grass nor plants would just be a memory.
The only plants that exist would be electricity and water filter plants. The factories
would be everywhere you look. Their smog would also take over. Smog would be
the new air to humans around the world. In some cities that have met a polluted
fate, stars are not visible any more. This might be the case for every place on Earth.
It doesn t matter if you are in a small town, the only place on Earth now is cities.
Traffic would be everywhere. Not one street is free from cars and trucks. The noise

Programs
Evaluation and Recommendations for New Training Programs With the downturn of
the economy, and the increase of globalization, organizations continuously are
restructuring its operations to handle the company s demands. Modern day
organizations strive to stay ahead of the marketplace. As the workforce shifts from
hard labor to knowledgeable workers, human resource management need to design
and implement a strategic training program that not only teaches operational
competency, but excellent job skills in the latest technology, industry and
competition. In this case, as the appointed Training Director of Reliance Reliable
LLC, I will be reviewing and evaluating the employee s internal and external training
program and giving my recommendation on three methods/models to improve
training needs, assessments, and implementation strategies to be used as an inclusion
in the new employees handbook. Strategic Approach to Training An organizations
exclusive purpose is to align its training program with its overall company objectives.
Many companies use a systematic approach to training. As explained by Carter
McNamara, n.d. A systematic approach to training includes taking the time to analyze
what results the organization needs from its employees, if employees are
accomplishing those results, and what training and development approaches are
needed by employees to better accomplish those results (para. 2). This should be
taken in to an account when developing new strategic
30. Consequences Of Teen Dating Violence
In my last paper I touched base on some of the consequences for Teen Dating
Violence (TDV) but closely focused on the victims and much less on the actual
abuser. In today s paper I would like to focus more on the aspects of the law side of
TDV. What happens to the abusers after it is all said and done. Teen Dating Violence
occurs almost as Domestic Violence, the only difference is the term and the age
group that it affects solely. As a teenager 13 18 or a middle school child 13 and
younger, they are sometimes oblivious to the red flags (warning signs) of dating
violence, or even that they themselves may be abusing their boyfriends or
girlfriends and have no idea it is happening. Today I will discuss the after effects of
TFV after the abuse is already dealt. First let s talk about the physical consequences
a teen or middle school child could suffer from after abuser as the victim as well as
the abuser. Physical abuser may result in minor injuries all the way up to severe
injuries or even de3ath in some cases. Statistics say that nearly 1 in 4 teens in the
United States may be victims of severe domestic violence and their offenders most
all of the time end up being repeat abusers on into their adult ages. Although it is rare,
in some cases of physical violence it can affect the internal system as well such as,
affecting your immune systems, affecting the heart causing cardiovascular disease,
the intestines from severe threat of knife wounds, being kicked in the stomach both
31. The Root Cause Of Gun Violence In Bowling For Columbine
By...
In the documentary Bowling for Columbine by Michael Moore, talks about the
root cause of gun violence in the United States of America. The documentary
shows how more than 11, 127 people die every year from guns whereas 381 in
Germany, 255 in France, 165 in Canada, 68 in the United Kingdom, 65 in
Australia, and 39 in Japan. Many say that violent movies, video games, and violent
rock artists such as Marilyn Manson contribute to gun violence in America but
violent movies are seen in France, violent video games are from Japan, and
Marilyn Manson is heard in Germany. Also, guns in America are easy to obtain as
in the documentary Moore got a free gun as he signed up for an account and only
required to get a background check. However, fear is the root cause of America
gun violence as people fear getting killed it leads to others getting killed. For
example, in the documentary Moore shows that the media promotes fear in the
American news program as they only focus on negative news such as violence and
death such as in the news they state, Tonight in South Central, a drive by shooting .
It makes people fear certain places such as going to South Central as they portray it
to be a dangerous place to go to as the news shows all the negative things that
happen there such as crimes which make people fear to go there. Where in Canada
news are positive and focus on what is going around town. They are not talking
about what can kill you or get you sick which is why they don t live in fear as they
even leave their house unlocked and don t have loaded arms. Moore goes further
on to ask a news reporter if he would go to a gun shooting before he went to a child
near drowning and the reporter would rather go to a gun shooting. It is seen that
people are more afraid of each other in America than in other countries. Americans
are fearful of their own fellow Americans as Moore s illustrates a cartoon that
portrays American history, of fearing each other as it shows when the pilgrims first
arrived to America because they were scared but when they arrived they were greeted
by savages so they killed them because they got scared and then they began to fear
each other then they signed the 2nd amendment which stated that every white

This is about Johnny R. Cash and the depression that consumed his life after the
death of his wife Mrs. June Carter Cash who passed away in May 2003. In this
case study you will read about Mr. Cash s life from childhood till present day. The
study will show how I have diagnosed Johnny Cash with Major Depressive
Disorder as well as Alcohol, Stimulant and Sedative Use Disorder from prior drug
and alcohol abuse. It is important to note Johnny states he has been in remission
from drugs and alcohol for 40+ years which classifies as sustained remission. I do
discuss how he can possibly recover from this disorder. I have chosen the method
of family therapy and behavior changes. Mr. Cash will greatly benefit from a
strong support system in contrast to the confinement he has chosen. It is my belief
with family present to offer love and support it will change his thoughts and
destructive behavior. My goal with this type of therapy is to show Johnny that he is
loved and wanted. Also that there is a way to be happy and have peace again and
while overcoming depression and continuing his sustained sobriety. The purpose of
this case study is to reveal that John R. Cash has depression and has suffered from
this disorder for many years. Johnny Cashhas had an interesting past and some of it
hints to signs of previous depression. This study will show that depression can hit
anyone, even those that people admire and want to be like someday.

The first transcontinental railroad began was building in 1863. Half of this railroad
was built by Chinese immigrants. The Chinese immigrants came to find jobs because
there was famine in China. Since the Chinese workers were hard workers and they

transcontinental finished building in 1869, but by that time, there were too many
Chinese workers in USA looking for jobs. After the railroad was built, the Chinese

Over the course of the traditional American public education from kindergarten
through high school graduation, a student will have more than fifty teachers. Many of
these educators are easily forgotten, but there are always some whose influence
makes a lasting impression. One of those memorable educators taught seventh grade
American history. Thirty years later, her name still comes up in conversation among
former students. There was no formal character educationcurriculum in practice, but

Flowers has been a mentor for me. She exemplifies the finest qualities of respect and
compassion for students. I often reflect on my seventh grade year in her class, and I
try to provide the same moral influence for my own students, knowing that each child
has worth and dignity. It has been my experience that students are likely to buy into
the values that the teacher demonstrates and exemplifies.
Many students come to school without a solid moral and ethical foundation because it
has not been a priority at home. The lack thereof must not be used as an excuse.
Educators must assume the responsibility to be effective caregivers, moral models,
and ethical mentors. Successful character education is an integral part of a school s
culture, most effective when the virtues are integrated into the academic curriculum
(Dean, 2014).
Character education is the foundation on which students will be equipped to make
wise decisions and smart life choices (Lickona, 2003). Mrs. Flowers contributed
significantly to building this foundation for generations of students. In addition to
teaching the basics of American history, she was a compassionate caregiver, a moral
model, and an ethical mentor to her students. Character education was a priority, and
the impact of her teaching was enduring. Mrs. Flowers is, without a doubt, a leader

The Uneasily Defined Organizational Structure of Apple Organizational structures
have been used for centuries to help people within organizations to understand who
holds authoritative roles and how it is ordered, who has certain responsibilities and
how they are organized and executed, and how communication flows between the
tiers of management ( BusinessDictionary, 2013). There are many types of

It was rare that any employee would not have a clear understanding of what Job s
direction was going and what his objectives of any given week were. There was
such a personal connection to the CEO that employees at all levels generally

the very best person in each specific job; therefore, employees were held accountable
for their own positions. Lashinsky (2011) noted the odd culture and organizational
structure of Apple:
To Apple s legion of admirers, the company is like a tech version of Wonka s factory,

For the first time in my life, I disagree with the dictionary. Success is defined as a

goals, doing
what you love every day, and being content with your choices in life.

45. Sarasota County Real Estate Case Study
On January 16, 2009, the Sarasota County Board of County Commission granted
approval of a rezoning from Open Use Rural, 1 unit/10 acres (OUR) to Residential
Estate, 1 unit/2acres with a binding site plan named Boleyn Lake Estates. The
original project was approved for the development of 25 lots consisting of single
family homes. This approved project was designed in accordance with the Sarasota
County Conservation Subdivision zoningregulations. As the major objective
originally and currently for this Conservation Subdivision is to reduce land impacts
while embracing the natural systems for the subject property.
Therefore, on behalf of our clients, Sam Rodgers Homes, Incorporated, the intentions
for pursuing this rezoning petition is to obtain proper zoning that will allow
development of a conservation subdivision. The subject site is comprised of five
adjoining parcels (PID ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The five existing parcels currently contain single family residences, Detached
garages, Barns and sheds consisting primarily of grazing land. The project plans to
develop the property into a 79 single family residential lot Conservation Subdivision
in accordance with Sections 4.10.6 and 6.4.4 of the Sarasota County Zoning Code.
The proposed amendment will be an increase from the previously approved plans by
54 lots. This increase has minimal impacts while providing additional housing
opportunities to the residents of Sarasota County. The current proposed Conservation
Subdivision density was determined by avoidance of developing 60% of the land. In
studying the surrounding land uses the proposal is consistent and will not adversely
impact adjoining properties. As found, to the north, Open Use
46. Rolls-Royce Theory Case Study
Rolls Royce Limited is a British car and aero engine manufacturing company
established by Charles Stewart Rolls and Sir Frederick Henry Royce on 15th
March, 1906. Rolls Royce was founded in Manchester, England and its
headquarters is based in Derby, England, United Kingdom. The company has been
in existence for over 43 years. Rolls Royce is known for their superior engine
quality and also, known for manufacturing high powered R engines responsible for
land and air. On top of their outstanding reputation, Rolls Royce is well branded for
successful performances in automobile racing, their speed records are remarkable.
One year later, in 1907, Charles Rolls interests detoured into flying. His interests lead

As stated earlier, the deontological theory states that there is a duty to perform
certain acts not because of some benefit to ourselves or others, but because of the
nature of these actions or the rules from which they follow. Deontology theory
abides by the rules of doing the right thing always and avoid wrong doing. The
word Deon comes from a Greek word meaning duty; therefore, deontologists
believe all companies has a duty to conduct business in the right and most ethical
way. Rolls Royce bribery, from a deontologist perspective is seen as immoral and
unethical practice. In hindsight, they should have conducted business to gain profits
in a just manner, no matter the consequences of doing the right thing, it would just
be more ethical. Although, the results of doing the right thing may not have
resulted in gaining profits and earning up to millions in profits but it would be the
most ethical way to operate a business, especially not having the company s name
making headlines for a scandal. Over $10.5 billion dollars was paid in the period of
years to land contracts, which is a huge sum of money to spend on landing major
contracts. That money could have been invested wisely in to the company and they
may be could have reaped more benefits. On Wednesday 16th November, 2016, a Rio

47. The Changing Face Of Political Campaigns
The media is everywhere. In our computers. In our phones. In our radios. Just
around the corner waiting in a newspaper stand and flashing bright colors across
our TVs. It seems like there is something being reported continuously every day.
News and information are only a few taps away; unlimited knowledge now sits in
almost anyone s back pocket. All these new forms of media are changing everything.
Political campaigns are not something we typically think about. To most people
above the age of 18 in the United States, it is now normal to be bombarded by a
presidential candidate s campaign. On the other hand, this is a newer phenomenon
caused by new media. The changing face of political campaigns has many sides.
Public opinion, the youthvote, fundraising, and negative campaigning are only a few
things that are affected by new media.
Public Opinion Public opinion is something that is tricky to define. There are
multiple groups within the public that all have different opinions. This makes it
impossible for everyone to have the same opinion on an issue. Public opinion then
becomes the belief of the majority of people in a certain area. The so called public
can only be a town, a city, a state, or even the whole country. This makes public
opinion vary. Though most of the time when it is discussed in campaigns it is the
whole of the nation that is being discussed. Public opinion is influenced by multiple
things including new media. The internet is a growing source for
48. Research Paper On Prebiotics
Prebiotics
A prebiotic is a non digestible food ingredient that beneficially affects the host by
selectively stimulating the growth and/or activity of one or a limited number of
bacteria in the colon thus improving host health. The prebiotic approach advocates
the administration of non viable entities. Dietary carbohydrates such as fibres are
candidate prebiotics, but most promise has been realised with non digestible
oligosaccharides, because of their selective metabolism. In particular, the ingestion of
fructo oligosaccharides (FOS) stimulates bifidobacteria in the lower gut. As
prebiotics exploit non viable food ingredients, their applicability in diets is wide
ranging. A further approach is synbiotics, where probiotics and prebiotics are
combined. Today, only bifidogenic, non digestible oligosaccharides (particularly
inulin, its hydrolysis product oligofructose, and (trans) galactooligosaccharides),
fulfill all the criteria for prebiotic classification. ... Show more content on

The main site of action is the colon. Thus, prebiotic should also resist the effects of
various digestive enzymes and acidic conditions of the gut. Once the prebiotic can
phase through all these conditions, it helps in the stimulation of growth and the
various metabolic activities of live probiotic bacteria by fermentation itself. The target
bacterial genera for the prebiotic actions are bifidobacteria and lactobacillus species.
These bacterial species are able to take as a diet of any prebiotics and then produces
various metabolic end products via the fermentation process. These fermented end
products have a direct effect on health through the stimulation of host immune system
as well as functions as a binding of receptor sites. The fermentation end products can
be organic acids or biologically active peptides. These fermented products have a
specific role in the direct antagonistic action against the harmful disease causing
49. The Detroit Lions
This won t be the most popular subject but here goes nothing... it s time to trade
Calvin Johnson. Before you start with the name calling and the bashing of my
intellect, just hear me out and be open minded for a second. Try to think
unemotionally and recognize what is best for the future of the Detroit Lions.
There are far too many reasons to ship out our future Hall of famer and not enough
logical ones to keep him. Here are five explanations of why we should deal
Megatron. 1. Calvin isn t getting any younger and our window to win with him is
all but closed. We are not going anywhere this year and there is no point to
exacerbate his attrition. His body has plenty of wear and tear and there s a limited
amount of time before Calvin s stock precipitously declines. It has been evident in
recent weeks that his speed and agility has diminished. Tackles that he used to
break and defenders he used to make miss are becoming a thing of the past. He is
still fast for his massive frame, but no where near the 4.35 speed that used to take
slants and posts to the house. Calvin just had a dominant performance against a
weak and negligent Chicago Bears defense. This week would make for a perfect
time to sell high. We should cash in before his value is completely squandered
away. The thread is thin on Calvin s tires and it s just a matter of time before
another nagging injury resurfaces. 2. Another problematic facet is Calvin s price tag.
Megatron still makes an average of more than two
50. Physiology Lab 3 Activity 2 Essay
1) Make a graph of resting heart rates from Activity 1. Provide a physiological
explanation for fluctuations in resting heart rate over time. Discuss a couple of
extrinsic factors that influence the autonomic nervous regulation of resting heart rate.
The resting heart rate fluctuates over time because it is under control of the
autonomic nervous system and the fluctuations are a result of the sympathetic and
parasympathetic systems trying to balance each other out.
There are many reasons on why the resting heart rate can fluctuate over time. Factors
can include things like the temperature of the room we were in, or what we ate
/ drank for breakfast. Also volume of liquid or chemicals in the cell can impact the
heart rate.
2) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Homeostatic is all about balance so when you begin to exercise, you need more
oxygen. The harder you breathe the more energy it takes to replace it. Your body
temperature while exercising also increases; typically it creates too much heat so
your body has to figure out a way to release the heat so it doesn t become dangerous.
This is done by sweating
4) Compare and contrast oscillations in heart rate observed at rest (Activity 1),
during exercise and recovery exercise (Activity 2). Is the relative magnitude of the
oscillations the same? Provide a physiological explanation in your answer.
In the first experiment I was subject 2. For the most part my heart rate did not
oscillate too much. My heart rate was a little slower than the other subjects as well.
Compared to Activity 2, his oscillations while exercising were a little more dramatic.
The reason for this could be that your heart is trying to adjust to the new physically
taxing activity that you are enduring. Your body is trying to balance, but if it is
thrown into a demanding activity it will take a little bit more adjusting than if you
are just resting.
5) Describe how the normal range for any given measurement is obtained. Explain
why published values for normal ranges may differ and why these values must be
continually checked and updated.
There really is no ideal reading for any measurement, it really just varies depending
on your diet
51. How Parasitology Is A Very Important Area Of The...
Parasitology is a very important area of the microbiology clinical laboratory of
NYU Langone Medical Center. Medical technologists perform many different
types of assays and observe countless samples under the microscope in order to
detect the presence of any parasites causing infections. Parasitology is the study of
parasitic organisms that cause disease within humans. Parasites are defined as
organisms that live in or on another organism and uses its resources. The major
groups of parasitic organisms studied and observed in the clinical laboratory are
helminths, protozoa, and arthropods. Helminths are worm parasites and this group
contains the parasitic subgroups nematodes, cestodes and trematodes. Nematodes
are roundworms, cestodes are tapeworms, and trematodes are flukes. There are
thousands of different species of helminths. Protozoa contains organelles within
their cell. There are more than 50,000 species and are very common throughout the
world. Arthropods are organisms with a chitin cytoskeleton, such as fleas, ticks,
spiders, and insects. Although parasitic infections are most often associated with
tropical areas they can also occur in subtropical and more temperate areas, even
places such as New York City. Billions of people all over the world have fallen prey
to parasitic infections. People who live, work, visit, or immigrate from more remote
and underdeveloped parts of the world are at a higher risk of acquiring parasitic
infections. The level of symptoms

To begin with, as always, the story begins with Mother Ceres is busy tending to the
harvest of wheat, corn, rye, and barley; as usual, Mother Ceres is enjoying her
daughter Proserpina s company. Proserpina a very curious and adventures girl,
who often learned from her mistakes and was known of often not listening to her
Mother Ceres. One day, Proserpina eagerly and anxiously asked her protective
Mother Ceres, if she could go to the mountainside. Her Mother Ceres, knowing
Proserpina very well, and how naive and curious she is. Mother Ceres after a while
of thought and getting tired of Proserpina s begging, very hesitantly agrees to let
Proserpina go to the mountainside. Right before Proserpina left to the mountainside,
Mother Ceres warns her The gnomes are good creatures, and they will protect you!
Remember though not to stray away from them and leave the mountainside, and go
wandering in the desert by yourself. As usual, after Proserpina visited the gnomes
and waited for them to fall asleep, she secretly went out to do what her Mother Ceres
precisely told her not to; she went out into the desert.... Show more content on

53. Compare And Contrast Harris And Jeffery
Have you ever heard of a slave man that tries to get his own master to buy his
betrothed? From what we read in class, in a story it talks about how a slave man
begs his master to please buy his betrothed, but it turned out that Dorcas was sold
with a whole family. In the meanwhile, Jeffery s master only wanted Dorcas not the
whole familythat was with her. While on the other story, it talks about how a group
of slaves got caught hidden in a barn. While they was trying to escape for their
freedom, a man asked if he could help them. That they could hide in his barn
because if someone caught them escaping that then they would probably be beat to
death. The poor slaves accepted going to the man s barn, but it turned out that they
got caught and they fought. Two of the slaves dead and the other two were taken
back and they were beaten. But that for sure did not stop Wesley Harris from
escaping one more time.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most common similar that both men had was, that they were both brave slaves
that did not give up. Wesley Harris and Jeffery both received help from others. For
example Jeffery received help from his master because after begging the master to
buy Dorcas. The master finally deceived to buy her. While on the other hand, Harris
received help from one of the slaves to get him a rope and some nails. Even after
being caught escaping he still tried it one more time. The both men were desperate
for getting their freedom. And another alike thing that both men had was that they
both got unexpected
54. The Terrorist Turn Adopted By Eta
However, the terrorist turn adopted by ETA was not an effective strategy to have
their voice heard in a democracy. As argued by Furlow and Goodall, a way to
understand the political rhetoric of any extremist group is to analyse their core
narrative techniques. Linking enemies to historical villains of the past is a common
strategy for extremist groups to justify their actions. Reminding the historical
repression of the Basque identity is actually the strategy adopted by ETAto justify its
actions. Such as strategy turns out to be inefficient in democratic Spain.
At first, the heavy repression undertaken by the Franco government boosted ETA s
support not only in the Basque country but also internationally. The main strategies of
ETA were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Franco Government answered by sentencing death penalty to any person found
guilty, but this practice only strengthened international support for ETA, which was
compared to national liberation movements (Alonso, 2011). As Spain was on the
verge of democratization, ETA experienced profound changes in its internal
structure. In 1974, ETA was divided into two groups, a military one (ETA m) and a
political military one (ETA pm). ETA m, the minority group, wanted to stick with
use of violence only while ETA pm was advocating that armed struggle should be
coupled with popular mobilization (de la Calle and Sanchez Cuenca, 2013).
The repression faced during the dictatorship along with the determinant role played
by ETA in the opposition to the dictatorship encouraged the democratic government to
recognize the particularities of the Basque identity. After passing an amnesty law for
all ETA prisoners in 1977, the Government granted the status of autonomy to the
region. The Basque Country now had a Basque Parliament, a Basque Government,
their own education and health system, their own fiscal system as well as their own
police force. As a result, Basque history and language were inserted in school
curriculum and Basque newspapers emerged. But ETA wanted independence. The
group thus radicalized killing civil guards, businessmen, parliamentarians, judges and
prosecutors, journalists, university professors but also civilians in car bombing
attacks. In April1995, ETA
