The Problem Of Crisis Intervention
An abundance of characteristics exists with this group of twelve learners. While all
are undergraduate college level students, they each possess an individual level of
healthcare experience. The ages widely swing between low twenties and upper
thirties, mostly likely providing a great number of varied life experiences. The
subject of Crisis Intervention calls for one to be able to assess the clients needs,
identify the risks, locate resources, and provide therapeutic communication (ATI
Nursing Education, 2013). Although this topic is an acute matter, it stems from
fundamental nursing knowledge that the learners have been practicing since eight
nursing courses ago.
Per the assignment criteria, three topics of interest were offered to the learners via e
mail. The topics included Crisis Intervention, Power of Attorney/Advance Care
Directive, and High Risk Health Behavior. These three were influence by the NCLEX
Test Plan (2013). The learners had proclaimed that there was a greater interest in the
topic of Crisis Intervention versus the other options (Personal communication, 2015).
With this conclusion, the topic was submitted to the clinical instructor for review.
Crises are a natural part of life (Halter, 2014). However, when one does not have the
proper tools to overcome a crisis, it can be valuable for a nurse to aid the client in
doing so. By the very definition of nature , it is not unique to one subset population.
Therefore, a pediatric nurse or an endocrine nurse is
My Future Teacher
Throughout my time as a first semester freshman in college with the intent to
become a future teacher, I was offered several experiences that have solidified my
decision about becoming a teacher. I got the chance to attend Johnsonville High
for four days which I learned just how much fun you could have teaching at a
school that has less standardized testing. Then, I had the most amazing time being
able to be an assisting teacher at Carolina Forest High. My cooperating teacher, Dr.
Ledford, was the best cooperating teacher I have ever had in my life. She was the
idle teacher that was an inspiration to me and her students. I could tell she had a
true passion for teaching by the way she taught her students. Dr. Ledford would
always give interesting and fun activities to her students to help them learn a
subject. Being her teacher assistant influenced me to become a teacher more than
anything else. I want to become a teacher so I can teach in a similar way she does.
In the past, I have had teachers who did not really care about their students and did
not put an effort into their lesson plans. This is the opposite with Dr. Ledford. She
genuinely cares about her students in such a way it has inspired me to teach like
her. I also got to attend monthly seminars where I learned several things to keep in
mind as a teacher; such as the importance of being professional and how every
student has the capability of doing remarkable things. Finally, I attended several

Fury Road Essay
In an ideal future, most people would expect to see a world devoid of sickness,
disabilities, violence, and terror; but what if the more realistic future holds all of
these things to be the norm? What culture would then arise from the ashes of this
new wasteland society, where people survive off the misfortune of others and the
humanbody is a degenerate vessel for lost souls? Mad Max: Fury Road encapsulates
every aspect of this future with all of the explosions and car chases of a classy action
filmand then some; for many, it stands as a masterly produced action thriller, but for
me, the cultural implications, disabled heroes, and purposeful desexualization of
female characters in the film prove that Fury Road is about so much more than simply
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fantasy/sci fi film was directed by George Miller and received praise from
many critics, and has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Picture and Best
Director. The basic plot revolves around two characters, Furiosa (Charlize Theron)
and Max (Tom Hardy), who join forces to help five women escape from the tyrant,
Immortan Joe. Along the way, Furiosa and Max not only have to keep the girls
alive, but also each other and outrace the army that follows them in order to make
it to the Green Place, a haven of sorts where Furiosa was born. However, when the
group finally reaches the Green Place, there is nothing but ruin to be found and so
begins the epic climactic battle between the escapees and Immortan Joe s army.
There are so many unique aspects to the plot alone that detach this film from most
of the action film genre, but what adds to the significance of Fury Road is the
overwhelming presence of disabilities, and how these disabilities are treated within
the context of the film. The world itself projects a new culture where everyone is
disabled and everyone is enslaved in some way. Yet, despite what our society would
deem of these circumstances, this new culture is not a despairing one for no character
falls victim to their disability, and those who would be expected to resign to abuse
are the very heroes of their own
Public Policy Analysis And Management Should Be My Next
Step
During an economics lectures the professor said to my class I do not know
whether the increasing income inequality is an issue or not . I was perplexed. I
thought the goal of Economics, as a social science, was to achieve the maximum
welfare of people by using all the resources most efficiently. So how is income
inequality that renders many people worse off, not an issue? I knew he did not state
his opinion to avoid introducing his bias. However, if everyone in the world were to
keep their understanding of justice and inequality to themselves without a meaningful
dialogue, no societal issue would gain attention or action. Realizing that I want to be
equipped with tools necessary to take appropriate measures when welfare of

They showed me that scientific methods involving quantitative and qualitative work
could result in working solutions to some of the most complex and pressing
problems of our time. Chandra Talpade Mohanty s writings like Under Western
Eyes: Feminist Scholarship and Colonial Discourses (1984) provided me a
theoretical understanding of my experiences as a transnational feminist and find my
voice in discussions of global relevance. My mentors at Iowa State University further
encouraged my interest in policy formulation by exposing me to a host of socio
economic issues and conflicts through their teachings. It is during the last three years
of my undergraduate college career that I became confident about my decision to
pursue Public Policy.
On the recommendation of Dr. Teshome, a professor of Women s Studies and
Anthropology, I opted to take a graduate level Anthropology course called Global
Development. For this course, I read various development theories in the context of
social, political and economic disparities in the world. We discussed the ramifications
of certain development policies implemented in the global south. These theoretical
texts along with real case studies captured my interest in policy formulation and the
role of gender in development. I presented my final project on feminist critiques of

Medicine Is Not Just Been My Career Choice
Half awake, I could still hear the loud agonizing cries. I grabbed my mini
stethoscope and hurried downstairs to observe an impressive array of tasks to
save lives. Though, I was a child, it was not the first time I had seen a critical
patient with a busy medical crew around. I grew up in a hospital where both my
parents worked full time. Gradually I started imbibing the quintessential values of a
medical career to the point when helping others was no longer an act, but a way of
living life. This is why I believe, medicinehas not just been my career choice but a
personal journey of self discovery and human revelation.
In 2004, I donated all my savings to the Tsunami relief fund, which sowed the seeds
for the growth of the person I had chosen to become. Since then, years of experience
as a president and a member of various Non governmental organizations (NGO)
including the American Red Cross Society has inculcated in me the compassion and
leadership qualities.
During my medical school, attending several enlightening workshops on Art of living
and meditation, assimilated in me higher moral values and an inner code of conduct.
While, the hardships of staying away from home at a boarding school with acute
shortage of basic amenities were testing me, I maintained a rank in top few students
throughout my medical school. Teaching health issues and nutritional requirements
to primary school teachers and in Primary Health Care(PHC) centers of villages,
exposed me to a completely
Judging Abercombie Fitch for Their Hiring Practices Essay
Looks and first impressions are key points for many things in our lifes. Now a days
people are deep into fashion and everything is about looking presentable and well.
This has made clothing companies compete even more day by day and do
everything in their power to attract more people. To bring more people to the
bussiness and sell as much as they can they have been using a method of
prioritizing and aiming to certain group of poeple to sell to. This has lead
companies such as Abercombie Fitch to be seen as a store with a high profile of
racismand discrimination. Aiming to a natural classic amarican style and to hiring
only certain type of people has caused them to be sued multiple times. Abercombie
Fitch is a private company and there... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the constitution the company discriminates and excludes a group of
people but at the same time this is a private company and it should be their choice
who they hire or not. In my personal opinion Abercombie Fitch should not be
judged or sued. Companies across the world do exactly the same thing. I mean, I
live in Los Angeles where montly the population is mexican. Some mexicans like
dressing up with boots and big belts, they have a certain look which now people
call Paisa Look . When I go to the mall there are many paisa stores where the people
who work there obviously look mexican and dress up with the look they sell. When
I say mexican looking, I mean dark skined, mustache, the boots, the belts, the Ed
Hardy things, the hats and of course their music. This exact same thing happens in
Abercombie Fitch. The only difference is that caucasians are not the minority in this
country. I find very hypocritical the fact that people judge Abercombie, Hollister,
Express and other stores in that range for who they hire. This is a duble standard and
very unfair way of looking at things. In the article Going for the look, but risking
discrimination by Steven Greenhouse; Tom Lenox, Abercombie s communicatons
director said: Brand representatives are embassadors to the brand. We want to hire
brand representatives that will represent the abercombie Fitch
Advantage And Disadvantage Of Composites
CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION Composite materials are the engineering materials
made from two or more constituent materials they remain separate and distinct on a
macroscopic level but forming a single component or Composites can defined as
materials that consist of two more chemically and physically different phases
separated by a distinct interface(matrix phase and dispersed phase). The different
systems are combined judiciously to achieve a component with more and more
useful structural or functional properties non attainable by any of the constituent
alone. In the composites usually Matrix phase is the primary or base phase having a
continuous character or continuous molecular chain. But these Matrixes are usually
less hard and more ductile phase. In composites it holds the dispersed (reinforcing)
phase, shares a load with it. The Dispersed phase is encapsulated in the matrix in a
discontinuous form called a secondary phase. This Secondary phase... Show more

Determine in plane shear strength. Determine the processibility of composites.
Determine heat resistance of composites. The needs or desired properties of the
matrix which are important for a composite structure are as follows: Reduced
moisture absorption and Low shrinkage. Low coefficient of thermal expansion. Good
flow characteristics so that it penetrates the fibre bundles completely and eliminates
voids during the compacting/curing process. Must be elastic to transfer load to fibres.
Reasonable strength, modulus and elongation (elongation should be greater than
fibre). Strength at elevated temperature (depending on application). High temperature

application). Should be easily processable into the final composite shape. Good

Korsgaard
Korsgaard takes Kant s Formula of Universal Law to mean the following: [one
should] never...act on a maxim that [one] could not at the same time will to be a
universal law. For Korsgaard, it is impossible to will that a maxim be universally
followed when the goal of that action would become unreachable if everyone
practiced that action. For example, if everyone cheated at poker in order to win
money, then no one would play poker and the goal of cheating would be made
unreachable. From this interpretation, Korsgaard arrives at the test question for
whether an action is right. The test question is Could this action be the universal
method of achieving this purpose? If the answer is no, then that action would
undercut its own goal if it were
Abraham Maslow Research Paper
On April 1, 1908 Abraham Harold Maslow was born in a multiethnic neighborhood
in Brooklyn, New York to Jewish immigrants from Russia. From a young age
Maslow s parents pushed him hard for academic success. His parents were
uneducated but they valued education. They hoped that the new world would bring
the best for their children. Aside from pushing their children to exceed in school,
Maslow s parents were uncaring and different. His father verbally abused him and his
mother was selfish and showed her children no love or attention. He eventually
developed a strong revulsion for his parents. Maslow also had hard time in school. He
heard teachers speaking contemptuously of him as that smart Jew, and throughout his
youth he was tormented by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He analyzed biographies and writings of 18 people he identified as being self

because of its very limited no diverse sample. It is extremely difficult to empirically
test Maslow s concept of self actualization in a way that causal relationships can be
established. Biographer, Eric Hoffman said that it is important to note that self
actualization is a continual process of becoming rather than a perfect state one

Jordan Burroughs Accomplishments

successful at the sport and much of his time resulted in trial and error in order for
him to be successful.
Burroughs comes from the youngest of four siblings and a home where nobody else

Analyzing The Menace Of Mass Destruction
Analyzing The Menace of Mass Destruction Although many people carry on with
their daily life half indifferent and half frightened, their tomorrow s fate solely lies in
their thoughts, actions and decisions at the current time. The Menace of Mass
Destruction is a speech that was previously given by Albert Einstein to the General
Assembly and the Security arm of the United Nationsduring the second yearly dinner
of the Foreign Press Association. Ideally, the speech is among the most influential
speeches ever given because it addresses critical issues that threaten human peace,
outlines the reasons for the mishaps, and provides adequate solutions to their
problems. The speech is the most effective since it focuses on the real issues affecting
today s generations that in turn determines the future generations peace and stability.
In addition, it gives guidelines into how different nations can live peacefully without
posing threats to the future generations. Furthermore, Einstein s speech was effective
since he grabbed the attention of his audience through the use of various literary and
rhetorical devices. He applies logos to pass on valuable information to his audience.
For instance, he notes that fear and anxiety result into hatred and aggressiveness. He
also asserts that fear and distrust usually fasten conflicts among nations. In addition,
progressive growth in technology has been the cause of the ever increasing instances
of hostility, (Atomic

among the most dangerous in which a police office can respond. They are volatile

1997 to 2006 there were 1058 official assaulted in America and 13 feloniously

2014). Many, if not most people suffering a mental illness will react negatively to the
presence of the police, and this reaction tends to cause a like reaction by the officers
involved as they resort to their training and take a defensive posture for self
protection. As soon as each reaction is apparent, which is oftentimes immediate, then
a tension builds that can cause the situation to escalate and become very volatile. The
police are neither accustomed to nor trained to; de escalate them in the midst of a
tense situation. Traditional police training makes no distinction between sanity
The Road Monologue
Every fool and child knows that crossroads are magical places. Places where one
might encounter things not easily found elsewhere. Where the desperate might cut a
deal with a demon, and where the world weary might find themselves crossing into
another place or time. Every fool and child knows these things, but sometimes the
wise forget them.
The crossroads in question did not look like a crossroads to most who saw it. It
looked like a simple dirt path, bisecting a field full of long grass that waved in the
wind, the Earth s flowing green hair. On the path, at a seemingly random spot, there
was a little town. But the townspeople could see the other half of the crossroads, as
could the few who traveled upon it.
The dirt path led from nowhere to nowhere, and the other road, which was made of
something far less substantial than earth, led to just about any destination one
could think of. And an inn had sprung up where the two roads met, as inns are
wont to do. Later, a little town had built itself around the inn. The town was just
like any other town, and the inn like any other. Horses brayed in their stables.
Fields of crops grew. But if you were observant, and you walked along the wheat,
you would notice something strange about it. It was. . . Wispy, almost. Shimmering.
Almost like it was not quite real enough, or perhaps a bit too real. And if one
walked through the horses stables, or among the cows in the field, one would see a
fierce, wild intelligence in the animals eyes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

And beside the hearth in its cozy taproom sat a man. This was true in a general sense,
though the man often traveled around the town. But no matter where he was, if

they would always find him there, sitting by the
The Context Of Stanislavski
Methods:
A very important aspect to Stanislavski s methods was subtext. He really wanted
actors to pick up the underlying text of the dialogue being said. He wanted the actors
to not say the subtext but show it through body movements, pauses in speech,
gestures, etc. This is what was the main element for speaking to the audience, the
subtext was something the audience could not read, it was something they had to
pick up from viewing. In Chekhov s plays silence was one of the main forms of
subtext, as it would enrich the scene. This also builds a connection with the audience
because the subtext is almost as if there is a secret between the audience and the
character and no else knows it but them. Thus heightening the audience s interest in

Emotional memory was very successful however, Stanislavski believed that it was
losing its purpose and it needed to be redefined (Sawoski). The procedure of
emotional memory was becoming extremely tiresome and exhausting to the actors,
which would make them feel sick, hysterical or tense. The results were coming
through with negative outcomes, the actors would not be as vocal and would stay in
their shell more, and Stanislavski would have to force those feelings out of them,
rather than them doing it themselves. This led to Stanislavski trying to find other
methods of using the actor s emotions but without mentally affecting them (

A Summary Of Asian American Assimilation
Asian American Assimilation, Incorporation, and Intermarriage Asian immigrants
and their offspring encounter vastly different assimilation experiences in the United
States compared to early European immigrants, mainly due to their non white status
(Portes and Zhou 1993; Neckerman et al. 1999). Portes and Zhou (1993) consider this
racial and phenotypical distinctiveness of post 1965 immigrants in the segmented
assimilation theory, which provides three possible paths of integration for immigrants
straight line, selective, and downward assimilation. Most Asian immigrants and their
children experience selective assimilation, where they achieve rapid socioeconomic
mobility while holding onto ethnic and immigrant community values and solidarity.
The scholarly merits and scientific contributions of the segmented assimilation theory
in explaining differing integration patterns of the new immigrants of post 1965
Immigration and Naturalization Act cannot be understated. Nonetheless, Portes and
Zhou do not directly address the role of intra Asian diversity in diverging paths of
assimilation. Rather, they simply state that children of nonwhite immigrants may not
even have the opportunity of gaining access to middle class white society, no matter
how acculturated they become (Portes and Zhou 1993, p.96). Moreover, they
emphasized the role of co ethnic communities in dealing with blocked mobility as
well as racial and ethnic discrimination and prejudice. However, more recent research

The Pros And Cons Of Forced Sterilization
Forced sterilization, also called eugenic sterilization, is a procedure commonly
performed on women as a way to permanently prevent that woman from having future
children, and is still being practiced today in many countries around the world,
including the United States.
Sterilization abuse is a practice in which the woman is either unaware she is being
sterilized, or she has been coerced or deceived into getting the procedure done by
either being told it is a temporary or reversible procedure, or being told that by not
consenting, there would be negative impacts to her immigration, housing,
government benefits, or parenting.1 This method, which has been documented in the
United States starting around 1907, was commonly used on poor, disadvantaged,
unwed, mentally disabled women, children, and even some men, including many
people within a minority group, as a way to control their fertilization and combat
overpopulation.
This gave the government the ability to decide who was incapable of regulating their
own reproduction abilities which is what was used to justify the use of forced
sterilization in these groups of people. It wasn t until the 1970 s that federal
legislation passed a sterilization policy to prevent sterilization of women without their
consent, but the caveat to this was those women who it applied to were those who
received government assistance for medical care.2 This was their way of making an
attempt to allow women to have control over their reproductive

Mentoring Programs For A Mentoring Program
In today s volatile business world, it is vital for organizations to engage employees
both intellectually and emotionally. Through mentoring, employees identify
themselves as a vital part of the organization while creating a heightened level of
ownership. Mentoring programs are of great value to any organization. In most cases,
these programs are considered essential. By developing and implementing a
mentoring program, the learning process for employees is accelerated. It is said that
mentoring can can accomplish things that training cannot (Johnson). Though,
developing a mentoring program is not an easy task, the benefits outweigh the
challenges. A mentoring program will help alleviate high employee turnover and
assist in building a pipeline of diverse employees.
The development of a mentoring program begins by deciding on whether it should be
a formal or informal program. On one hand, a formal mentoring program includes 1.
Connection to a strategic business objective of the organization 2. Established goals
3. Measurable outcomes 4. Expert training and support 4. Direct organizational
benefits and 5. Mentoring engagements lasting 9 12 months ( Business mentoring
matters , 2012). On the other hand, an informal mentoring program includes: 1.
Unspecified goals 2. Unknown outcomes 3. Self selection of mentors and mentees 4.
No expert training or support 5. Long term mentorship and 6. Indirect organizational
benefits ( Business mentoring matters , 2012). Therefore, based
Why I Want To Be A Veterinarian Essay
There are several professions that allow for an individual to succeed at doing
something they love to do. For example, computers, the health of others, working
cars, and even writing can lead to successful careers. The profession of veterinary
allows people how love to opperiate with animals to do just that. An individual

The decision to be a Veterinarian has been influenced by several different factors
and reasons. The first reason for my passion for Veterinary is the ability to help
animals who need it a lot. As a kid growing up, I would try to kill my dog elmo,
because I thought he was dying. Also, The hard process a veterinarian goes
through, allows for professional growth of knowing what to do to help animals
.Growing up I still want to be a veterinarian and there are many schools that help
with that. Veterinary would allow me to help animals almost everyday. Finally,

Medical Diagnostic Devices
Healthcare, and all that it provides, is considered one of the most precious
resources in the United States today. Everyone has been there. After days of
feeling crummy you break down and go the doctor. After all, there is so much you
need to do. From your child s soccer game your little one has been talking about for
days, your cousin s wedding with the perfect dress hanging in the closet and of
course, you cannot afford to miss work. So there you are, in the doctor s office
with the all important question. What is wrong with me? Thankfully, with modern
day science, there is technology available to peer inside and discover what stands
between you, the soccer field sideline, and embarrassing your family by dancing the
Macarena. With each passing year, the sophistication of medical diagnostic devices
increases with disruption to the traditional and centralized diagnostic delivery
model. A review of five medical diagnostic devices available today, or coming soon
to a healthcare facility near you, will be reviewed along with how it will disrupt the
current model.
Capsule Endoscopy According to Christensen, Grossman, and Hwang (2009),
medical device and diagnostic equipment (MDDE) is progressively decentralized
with each pass year in a predictable and consistent fashion. This pattern of change
may be seen in every discipline of medicine including the arena of endoscopy, which
involves a visual examination of the gastrointestinal tract. The capsule endoscopy is

IFRS 8 replaced IAS 14 because the revenue earned from the sales to external

This causes teachers to become overwhelmed and frustrated because they cannot
share their ups and downs with others. Observations are a way to bring a teacher
down. They are conducted in a way that degrades the teacher and does not offer any
constructive criticism. This creates a climate where teachers feel inferior and
ineffective when in reality the school and its teachers are not. Kallestad (2010)
states that school climate has clear parallels to other concepts like school culture
and teachers professional communities. This climate also gives outsiders the
perception that the school is ineffective when again, that is not the case as shown
through test scores. The principal has the power to change these deficits into
opportunities. She creates the schedule and could easily set a schedule where
teachers had collaboration time built into their day. The school has people available
to cover classrooms for a short twenty minute collaboration. Even allowing teachers
to collaborate two or three times a week would be helpful if that is all the schedule
could allow.
The school does have some qualities of a congenial climate. The teaching staff is
very close. Many of the teachers have been in this school for over ten years and work
very hard for student achievement. The staff will take the initiative to try to create a
climate that is fun and friendly through a sunshine committee that plans spirit week

Short Essay On Paradiso
In the distant past, the world of Paradiso is a magical land filled with tons of
magical energy. Nature was plentiful and many civilizations were in a state of
prosperity. The residents of that world were magical beings called Seraphs and they
use their powers to live happily. The future of that world might continue to prosper
if it weren t for these certain events. It started a few Seraphs causing many crimes to
get what they want. These seven Seraphs soon wanted the precious energy of
Paradiso and attack their own brethren to get their hands on it. Soon, they were
defeated by the other residents and cast out from Paradiso into the world with little
magic known as Earth where the residents there were called humans. On Earth, these
seven Seraphs have survived through the harshness of that world as they seek revenge

Underneath the beautiful chalk white castle is the underground dungeon where
they imprison numerous criminals for over the centuries for their heinous acts.
The dark and depressing atmosphere is greatly contrasted from above. One person

Her skin was white and smooth as if it was highlighted and looked
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Managed Care
Organizations
Manage Care Organizations
The United States has a unique system of healthcare delivery, it is complex and
massive. Twenty five years ago; American citizens had guaranteed insurance, meaning
the patient could see any physician and the insurance companies and patients would
share the cost. But today, 187.4 million Americans have private health insurance
coverage (Medicaid, 2014). The subsystems of American health care delivery are
Managed care, military, vulnerable populations and integrated delivery
So what is Managed care?
Managed care is a system of healthcare delivery that seeks to achieve efficiency by
interpreting the basic functions of healthcare delivery. It employs mechanisms to
control (manage) utilization of medical services and determines the price at which
the services are purchased and how much the providers get paid.
Managed care is the most dominant healthcare delivery system in the United States
and available to most Americans. Employers and government are the primary
financiers of managed care. The managed care sector includes approximately
540 licensed Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs)
925 Preferred Provider Organisations (PPOs)
Advantages of Managed Care:
Private care management organizations in close connection with providers obtain
claims for services rendered
Providers have a more predictable and stable cash flow
Education of members on plan benefits and how to access appropriate level of care
for these patients
Promote better outcomes for the patients by providing health education prevention
program
Disadvantages of Managed care:
Rigidity of rules, related to the choice of healthcare providers
Pay out of pocket, when consulted with another provider for extended care, as the
provider not included in the network
Unnecessary treatments and tests performed on patients in order to make money (or)
tests and treatments not performed due to lack of money
The prime types of Managed care organizations (MCOs) are:
Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs)
Preferred Provider Organisations (PPOs)
Point of Service (POS)
A health plan is a contractual arrangement between the MCO and the members; it
includes a list of covered health services to which members are entitled

The Spiritual Practice Of The Labyrinth
Since I was a child I was told to read the Bible, pray, and repeat. Eventually, these
few spiritual practices became empty rituals to me for a time. In the duration of this
class thus far, I ve had the chance to relook at my spiritual practices, learn why I
should practice them, and then put them into practice with a right heart. I ve also had
the chance to partake in many other types of spiritual practices. One in particular
interested me, so I decided to try it that is, the spiritual practiceof the Labyrinth.
There were many spiritual practices that I had never done before on the list, but the
Labyrinth was a formative practice that I hadn t even heard of. I had no experience
with the discipline before the class. However, I decided to try it because I might not
have had the chance to practice it again, unless I first tried it. Also, the fact of a
spiritual practice having a labyrinth involved greatly interested me, and I wanted to
study it. When I found out what the Labyrinth was I wanted to try it even more. A
prayer labyrinth is a labyrinth used to facilitate prayer, meditation, spiritual
transformation, and/or global unity. Walking a prayer labyrinth is seen in 3 stages:
Purgation, Illumination, and Union. Purgation occurs as you first walk into the
labyrinth until you reach the center, the goal is to clear the mind from distractions,
and open the heart. Illumination happens at the center, the goal to pray and meditate
and listen to what God has for you. Union,
Analysis Of Frremont High By Jonathan Kozol
Most people assume that America has the best education in the world. In fact, my
dad moved our whole family here mainly for us (his children) to get a good
education. However, what he and many others are not aware of is the effects that
economic inequality has on education. Jonathan Kozol s Fremont High discusses how
the lack of funding affects the quality of educationthat students are receiving.
Homeless on Campus by Eleanor J Bader brings light to the hardships of homeless
collegestudents and the fact that school institutions aren t providing them any
assistance. On the other hand, Anu Partanen s Finland School Success explores how
getting rid of economic inequality had greatly benefited education in Finland.
Jonathan Kozol, who is an American writer, best known for his books on public
education in the United States wrote about the condition of which students at a public
high school in Los Angeles were going through. In his essay, Fremont High , Kozol
informs us of how students success was being affected because of the lack of well
equipped classrooms, as well as necessary classes to help them succeed in college.
Kozol starts off with a vivid description of the classrooms he was visiting. He
describes the conditions of these classrooms by saying that nearly a third of all the
classrooms in the school, were located in portables...in converted storage closets
windowless and nasty (713). This is important because it gives the readers an

A Report On Hasbro s Revenues
Hasbro s revenues come from their US and Canada, international, entertainment
and licensing, and global business units. Their revenues are accumulated through
sales of toys and games in addition to a variety of licensing rights for items like
video games as well as other entertainment and cinematic products. A breakdown of
revenues by segment for the years 2012 2014, obtained from their annual 10k, is
presented for illustration below. U.S and Canada segment brings 47% of their
total revenue. In this segment sales have decreased from 2012 to 2014, with a
recent 1% increase from 2013 to 2014 and a 5% decrease from 2012 to 2013, this
segment has a 4% decrease from 2012 to 2014. The initial decrease in 2012 was
mainly due to decreased sales in the boy s toys, per the 10k for 2014. The
International segment also represents 47% of their total revenue. In 2014 net
revenue increased by 8% from 2013. This increase represents two years of growth
in that segment as seen with an increase from 2012 to 2013 of 5%. These increases
are mainly due to increased revenues in emerging markets like Russia. (10k) The
Entertainment and Licensing unit s revenue was up 15% in 2014 from 2013. This
is due to the success of several lifestyles brands that include names like My Little
Pony and Transformers. Additionally, Hasbro purchased a 70% interest in Backflip
Studios, of which a full year of revenue was recognized in 2014. (Research, 2013)

One of the effective means to at least lessen the occurrence of our present garbage
disposal problem is through the use of methods that are non toxic, less expensive,
less harmful, and yet equally effective. This project aims to provide for a natural and

Every living cell contains nitrogen and its abundance leads to green, succulent growth.
Phosphorous occurs in the protoplasm, with its great concentration in seeds thereby
increasing their production. Potassium influences the uptake of other elements and
affects both respiration and transpiration (Fitzpatrick, 1974). * Methodology
Kitchen wastes, composed mainly of vegetable and fruit peelings, were gathered,
shredded, and placed in garbage bags with small holes. Temperature build up inside
the bags due to partial decomposition was measured and allowed to lower down for
one month until three consecutive declining of temperature were achieved.
Three set ups measuring 15 x 8 inches were prepared and were covered with plastic.
One box contained pure carabao manure, the other box contained 70 percent carabao
manure and 30 percent processed kitchen wastes and the last box contained pure
processed kitchen waste. About one hundred pieces of Lumbricus terrestris were
placed in each set up. The boxes were placed in a lighted area to prevent the worms
from escaping Since worms are known to be light sensitive. The set ups were checked
daily and watered to keep moisture. Upon consumption of the contents of the boxes,
as evidenced by the appearance of brown granular structures, the set ups were spread
on newspapers under the sunlight. The Lumbricus terrestris were gathered. The
resultant product, called earthworm castings, were then sun dried and passed

Women and a Living Wage
The gender pay gap exists today because of discrimination, an undefined legal
premise, and women s deeply ingrained concept of themselves as second class
citizens. Many believe that gender based discrimination has long been eradicated and
this opinion is often the cause that perpetuates the problem. Each of these issues must
be addressed and resolved. By continuing to combat long held biases by the upper,
male oriented management, refining the argumentative legality of the current Equal
Pay law and empowering women to realize they are equal to men, beyond
physicality, in all aspects, we can finally become a modern day thinking, civilized
society.
Gender inequality is difficult to explain and understand as men have always been
held in a higher regard than women in society in every sense of the word; business,
government, religion, family relationships and so on. It s as though just because
men are physically stronger (muscle wise) than women that is must also be true that
they are superior in all other areas as well. This thought consensus began as far back
to the creation of Adam and Eve and largely believed even today. Throughout the
centuries, slowly women have displayed abilities that proved to be equal to or greater
than men and the perception that men ruled the world had become fractured. What

Kidney disease can affect children in various ways, ranging from treatable disorders
without long term consequences to life threatening conditions. According to Inker et

acute renal failure (ARF) as the sudden loss of kidneyfunction, generally occurring
over the course of hours to days and resulting in the retention of metabolic waste

purpose of this paper is to describe pathophysiology of ARF, to discuss specific
developmental impact on adolescents with ARF, to review the different teaching

Like adults, most pediatric patients with mild to moderate acute kidney injury are
asymptomatic and are identified on laboratory testing (Rahman et al., 2012). But
pediatric patients with severe cases may be symptomatic and present with oliguria,
edema, fatigue or tiredness, shortness of breath, hypertension, nausea, confusion,
seizures or coma (Rahman et al., 2012). Based primarily on urinalysis and blood
chemistry results BUN, sCreat, sodium, potassium, and calcium levels (London et
al., 2017). The gold standard to diagnose these injuries is kidney biopsy (Faught et
al., 2015).
It is important to identify the disease early because it might be reversible by
stopping the offending agents (Chang et al., 2015; Faught et al., 2015). ARF
results from drug toxicity or dehydration, the prognosis is generally good (London
et al., 2017). However, ARF that results from diseases such as hemolytic uremic
syndrome or acute glomerulonephritis are more likely to develop chronic kidney
disease in the future (London et al., 2017; Rahman et al.; 2012, Vasudevan et al.,
2012). They are also at higher risk of end stage renal disease in later in life (Rahman
et al., 2012). According to Faught et al. (2015), one of the treatment options is to
avoid the use of nephrotoxic drugs, particularly in those at high risk of developing
renal injury. Chang et al. (2015) explained that the initial management of patients
with ARF is a conservative treatment, including prompt
International and Strategic Marketing Essay
International and Strategic Marketing The globalization of business markets from
domestic to international has generated a unique competitive advantage for all the
organizations whose products and services are being welcomed by the customers all
around the world demanding mass marketing efforts. In this regard, marketing
research in the international environment is having different methodology and

International marketing concept is also the same as the general defined concept of
marketing but the methodology to enter and penetrate in the international market is
not the same as it is in domestic marketing. Indeed the tools and skills to enter in the
international market is same but their application differs due the factors which
include economy, political and legal system, and most importantly culture and buying
behavior of the nation. Hence, the ideology of international marketing can be gauged
in this way that the organization which offers its products and services by planning,
pricing, promoting, and distributing to more than one nation other than domestic
market to earn higher profit (Cateora et al., 2002).
Internationalized Business Operations Many potential organizations tend to bring
their operation on global level rather than national level. When the companies move
to internationalization the complexity and sophistication of operations change

Good Night And Goodluck Analysis
Good Night. And, Good Luck by George Clooney and Grant Heslov follows CBS
reporter Edward R. Murrow and his producer Fred Friendly who resolve to take a
stand against Senator Joseph McCarthy. There was an air of fear and paranoia in
the United States, in the 1950 s, because of Communism. Those fears were
manipulated by McCarthy, who wanted to gain more power by calling out people
who he claimed to have communist ties. His only piece of evidence involved a
sealed envelope that no one could see the contents of. Murrow and his reporting
team decide to do a piece on those exploitations. The first piece they do is on an air

clear that there was no fair trial held and the officer s rights were violated. Although...

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), is a form of chronic liver disease ranging

Therefore, the liver gut interaction is central to understand the pathophysiology of
liver diseases, including non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and hepatic
encephalopathy. Current knowledge on the association between gut microbial
composition and NASH is incomplete. Liver malfunction leads to altered genetic
composition of gut microbial, and in the meantime specific bacterial species are
present during liver pathogenesis, and the abundance of some bacteria is correlates
with grade of liver disease, implying the term gut liver axis .
Toll like receptors (TLRs) constitute very important players in this microbiome

activation of innate and adaptive immune responses to microorganisms through
recognition of conserved molecular patterns of organisms. In order to maintain
immune tolerance to the luminal microorganisms the expression of TLRs by
intestinal epithelial cells is normallyat its minimal.
Historical And Environmental Aspects Of Theology
Ecological theology focuses on the scientific and environmental aspects of theology.
It tries to determine the proper relationship between nature and humans from a
religious perspective. Throughout history, Christians have turned to the Bible for
advice on almost every aspect of life, but only a select few have been asking
questions about caring for the environment. The recent environmental crisis has
caused an increase in interest for this type of theology over the past fifty years.
Certain passages from the Biblecalls Christians to love and care for each other and
ultimately for the environment. Advocators for creation care have found verses in
the Bible that suggest that God calls us to protect the Earthand serve as temporary
stewards. Ecological theology seeks to find the answers to how Christians can
remain true to God s will in a time of environmental destruction and what exactly is
the Christian ecological responsibility. Throughout the old testament and the new
testament there are a multitude of verses that relate directly to the role God calls
christians to play regarding the environment. Some of the verses can be interpreted
differently and the variety can lead to confusion about Gods true will. However, If
Christians choose to look closely at the Bible they can find very specific sources
that support the need to care for God s creation. Leviticus 25:23 states The land must
not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you reside in my land as

  • 2. The Problem Of Crisis Intervention An abundance of characteristics exists with this group of twelve learners. While all are undergraduate college level students, they each possess an individual level of healthcare experience. The ages widely swing between low twenties and upper thirties, mostly likely providing a great number of varied life experiences. The subject of Crisis Intervention calls for one to be able to assess the clients needs, identify the risks, locate resources, and provide therapeutic communication (ATI Nursing Education, 2013). Although this topic is an acute matter, it stems from fundamental nursing knowledge that the learners have been practicing since eight nursing courses ago. Per the assignment criteria, three topics of interest were offered to the learners via e mail. The topics included Crisis Intervention, Power of Attorney/Advance Care Directive, and High Risk Health Behavior. These three were influence by the NCLEX Test Plan (2013). The learners had proclaimed that there was a greater interest in the topic of Crisis Intervention versus the other options (Personal communication, 2015). With this conclusion, the topic was submitted to the clinical instructor for review. Crises are a natural part of life (Halter, 2014). However, when one does not have the proper tools to overcome a crisis, it can be valuable for a nurse to aid the client in doing so. By the very definition of nature , it is not unique to one subset population. Therefore, a pediatric nurse or an endocrine nurse is
  • 3. My Future Teacher Throughout my time as a first semester freshman in college with the intent to become a future teacher, I was offered several experiences that have solidified my decision about becoming a teacher. I got the chance to attend Johnsonville High for four days which I learned just how much fun you could have teaching at a school that has less standardized testing. Then, I had the most amazing time being able to be an assisting teacher at Carolina Forest High. My cooperating teacher, Dr. Ledford, was the best cooperating teacher I have ever had in my life. She was the idle teacher that was an inspiration to me and her students. I could tell she had a true passion for teaching by the way she taught her students. Dr. Ledford would always give interesting and fun activities to her students to help them learn a subject. Being her teacher assistant influenced me to become a teacher more than anything else. I want to become a teacher so I can teach in a similar way she does. In the past, I have had teachers who did not really care about their students and did not put an effort into their lesson plans. This is the opposite with Dr. Ledford. She genuinely cares about her students in such a way it has inspired me to teach like her. I also got to attend monthly seminars where I learned several things to keep in mind as a teacher; such as the importance of being professional and how every student has the capability of doing remarkable things. Finally, I attended several service hour
  • 4. Fury Road Essay In an ideal future, most people would expect to see a world devoid of sickness, disabilities, violence, and terror; but what if the more realistic future holds all of these things to be the norm? What culture would then arise from the ashes of this new wasteland society, where people survive off the misfortune of others and the humanbody is a degenerate vessel for lost souls? Mad Max: Fury Road encapsulates every aspect of this future with all of the explosions and car chases of a classy action filmand then some; for many, it stands as a masterly produced action thriller, but for me, the cultural implications, disabled heroes, and purposeful desexualization of female characters in the film prove that Fury Road is about so much more than simply ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fantasy/sci fi film was directed by George Miller and received praise from many critics, and has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Picture and Best Director. The basic plot revolves around two characters, Furiosa (Charlize Theron) and Max (Tom Hardy), who join forces to help five women escape from the tyrant, Immortan Joe. Along the way, Furiosa and Max not only have to keep the girls alive, but also each other and outrace the army that follows them in order to make it to the Green Place, a haven of sorts where Furiosa was born. However, when the group finally reaches the Green Place, there is nothing but ruin to be found and so begins the epic climactic battle between the escapees and Immortan Joe s army. There are so many unique aspects to the plot alone that detach this film from most of the action film genre, but what adds to the significance of Fury Road is the overwhelming presence of disabilities, and how these disabilities are treated within the context of the film. The world itself projects a new culture where everyone is disabled and everyone is enslaved in some way. Yet, despite what our society would deem of these circumstances, this new culture is not a despairing one for no character falls victim to their disability, and those who would be expected to resign to abuse are the very heroes of their own
  • 5. Public Policy Analysis And Management Should Be My Next Step During an economics lectures the professor said to my class I do not know whether the increasing income inequality is an issue or not . I was perplexed. I thought the goal of Economics, as a social science, was to achieve the maximum welfare of people by using all the resources most efficiently. So how is income inequality that renders many people worse off, not an issue? I knew he did not state his opinion to avoid introducing his bias. However, if everyone in the world were to keep their understanding of justice and inequality to themselves without a meaningful dialogue, no societal issue would gain attention or action. Realizing that I want to be equipped with tools necessary to take appropriate measures when welfare of individuals is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They showed me that scientific methods involving quantitative and qualitative work could result in working solutions to some of the most complex and pressing problems of our time. Chandra Talpade Mohanty s writings like Under Western Eyes: Feminist Scholarship and Colonial Discourses (1984) provided me a theoretical understanding of my experiences as a transnational feminist and find my voice in discussions of global relevance. My mentors at Iowa State University further encouraged my interest in policy formulation by exposing me to a host of socio economic issues and conflicts through their teachings. It is during the last three years of my undergraduate college career that I became confident about my decision to pursue Public Policy. On the recommendation of Dr. Teshome, a professor of Women s Studies and Anthropology, I opted to take a graduate level Anthropology course called Global Development. For this course, I read various development theories in the context of social, political and economic disparities in the world. We discussed the ramifications of certain development policies implemented in the global south. These theoretical texts along with real case studies captured my interest in policy formulation and the role of gender in development. I presented my final project on feminist critiques of some conventional
  • 6. Medicine Is Not Just Been My Career Choice Half awake, I could still hear the loud agonizing cries. I grabbed my mini stethoscope and hurried downstairs to observe an impressive array of tasks to save lives. Though, I was a child, it was not the first time I had seen a critical patient with a busy medical crew around. I grew up in a hospital where both my parents worked full time. Gradually I started imbibing the quintessential values of a medical career to the point when helping others was no longer an act, but a way of living life. This is why I believe, medicinehas not just been my career choice but a personal journey of self discovery and human revelation. In 2004, I donated all my savings to the Tsunami relief fund, which sowed the seeds for the growth of the person I had chosen to become. Since then, years of experience as a president and a member of various Non governmental organizations (NGO) including the American Red Cross Society has inculcated in me the compassion and leadership qualities. During my medical school, attending several enlightening workshops on Art of living and meditation, assimilated in me higher moral values and an inner code of conduct. While, the hardships of staying away from home at a boarding school with acute shortage of basic amenities were testing me, I maintained a rank in top few students throughout my medical school. Teaching health issues and nutritional requirements to primary school teachers and in Primary Health Care(PHC) centers of villages, exposed me to a completely
  • 7. Judging Abercombie Fitch for Their Hiring Practices Essay Looks and first impressions are key points for many things in our lifes. Now a days people are deep into fashion and everything is about looking presentable and well. This has made clothing companies compete even more day by day and do everything in their power to attract more people. To bring more people to the bussiness and sell as much as they can they have been using a method of prioritizing and aiming to certain group of poeple to sell to. This has lead companies such as Abercombie Fitch to be seen as a store with a high profile of racismand discrimination. Aiming to a natural classic amarican style and to hiring only certain type of people has caused them to be sued multiple times. Abercombie Fitch is a private company and there... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the constitution the company discriminates and excludes a group of people but at the same time this is a private company and it should be their choice who they hire or not. In my personal opinion Abercombie Fitch should not be judged or sued. Companies across the world do exactly the same thing. I mean, I live in Los Angeles where montly the population is mexican. Some mexicans like dressing up with boots and big belts, they have a certain look which now people call Paisa Look . When I go to the mall there are many paisa stores where the people who work there obviously look mexican and dress up with the look they sell. When I say mexican looking, I mean dark skined, mustache, the boots, the belts, the Ed Hardy things, the hats and of course their music. This exact same thing happens in Abercombie Fitch. The only difference is that caucasians are not the minority in this country. I find very hypocritical the fact that people judge Abercombie, Hollister, Express and other stores in that range for who they hire. This is a duble standard and very unfair way of looking at things. In the article Going for the look, but risking discrimination by Steven Greenhouse; Tom Lenox, Abercombie s communicatons director said: Brand representatives are embassadors to the brand. We want to hire brand representatives that will represent the abercombie Fitch
  • 8. Advantage And Disadvantage Of Composites CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION Composite materials are the engineering materials made from two or more constituent materials they remain separate and distinct on a macroscopic level but forming a single component or Composites can defined as materials that consist of two more chemically and physically different phases separated by a distinct interface(matrix phase and dispersed phase). The different systems are combined judiciously to achieve a component with more and more useful structural or functional properties non attainable by any of the constituent alone. In the composites usually Matrix phase is the primary or base phase having a continuous character or continuous molecular chain. But these Matrixes are usually less hard and more ductile phase. In composites it holds the dispersed (reinforcing) phase, shares a load with it. The Dispersed phase is encapsulated in the matrix in a discontinuous form called a secondary phase. This Secondary phase... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Determine inter laminar shear strength. Determine damage tolerance of composites. Determine in plane shear strength. Good flow characteristics so that it penetrates the fibre bundles completely and eliminates voids during the compacting/curing process. Must be elastic to transfer load to fibres. Reasonable strength, modulus and elongation (elongation should be greater than fibre). Strength at elevated temperature (depending on application). For Korsgaard, it is impossible to will that a maxim be universally followed when the goal of that action would become unreachable if everyone practiced that action. For example, if everyone cheated at poker in order to win money, then no one would play poker and the goal of cheating would be made unreachable. From this interpretation, Korsgaard arrives at the test question for whether an action is right. The test question is Could this action be the universal method of achieving this purpose? If the answer is no, then that action would undercut its own goal if it were
  • 10. Abraham Maslow Research Paper On April 1, 1908 Abraham Harold Maslow was born in a multiethnic neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York to Jewish immigrants from Russia. From a young age Maslow s parents pushed him hard for academic success. His parents were uneducated but they valued education. They hoped that the new world would bring the best for their children. Aside from pushing their children to exceed in school, Maslow s parents were uncaring and different. His father verbally abused him and his mother was selfish and showed her children no love or attention. He eventually developed a strong revulsion for his parents. It is extremely difficult to empirically test Maslow s concept of self actualization in a way that causal relationships can be established. • 12. Analyzing The Menace Of Mass Destruction Analyzing The Menace of Mass Destruction Although many people carry on with their daily life half indifferent and half frightened, their tomorrow s fate solely lies in their thoughts, actions and decisions at the current time. The Menace of Mass Destruction is a speech that was previously given by Albert Einstein to the General Assembly and the Security arm of the United Nationsduring the second yearly dinner of the Foreign Press Association. Ideally, the speech is among the most influential speeches ever given because it addresses critical issues that threaten human peace, outlines the reasons for the mishaps, and provides adequate solutions to their problems. The speech is the most effective since it focuses on the real issues affecting today s generations that in turn determines the future generations peace and stability. Every fool and child knows these things, but sometimes the wise forget them. The crossroads in question did not look like a crossroads to most who saw it. It looked like a simple dirt path, bisecting a field full of long grass that waved in the wind, the Earth s flowing green hair. On the path, at a seemingly random spot, there was a little town. But the townspeople could see the other half of the crossroads, as could the few who traveled upon it. The dirt path led from nowhere to nowhere, and the other road, which was made of something far less substantial than earth, led to just about any destination one could think of. And an inn had sprung up where the two roads met, as inns are wont to do. Later, a little town had built itself around the inn. The town was just like any other town, and the inn like any other. Horses brayed in their stables. Fields of crops grew. But if you were observant, and you walked along the wheat, you would notice something strange about it. It was. . . Wispy, almost. Shimmering. He wanted the actors to not say the subtext but show it through body movements, pauses in speech, gestures, etc. This is what was the main element for speaking to the audience, the subtext was something the audience could not read, it was something they had to pick up from viewing. In Chekhov s plays silence was one of the main forms of subtext, as it would enrich the scene. The results were coming through with negative outcomes, the actors would not be as vocal and would stay in their shell more, and Stanislavski would have to force those feelings out of them, rather than them doing it themselves. • 17. A Summary Of Asian American Assimilation Asian American Assimilation, Incorporation, and Intermarriage Asian immigrants and their offspring encounter vastly different assimilation experiences in the United States compared to early European immigrants, mainly due to their non white status (Portes and Zhou 1993; Neckerman et al. 1999). Portes and Zhou (1993) consider this racial and phenotypical distinctiveness of post 1965 immigrants in the segmented assimilation theory, which provides three possible paths of integration for immigrants straight line, selective, and downward assimilation. Most Asian immigrants and their children experience selective assimilation, where they achieve rapid socioeconomic mobility while holding onto ethnic and immigrant community values and solidarity. The scholarly merits and scientific contributions of the segmented assimilation theory in explaining differing integration patterns of the new immigrants of post 1965 Immigration and Naturalization Act cannot be understated. Nonetheless, Portes and Zhou do not directly address the role of intra Asian diversity in diverging paths of assimilation. Rather, they simply state that children of nonwhite immigrants may not even have the opportunity of gaining access to middle class white society, no matter how acculturated they become (Portes and Zhou 1993, p.96). Moreover, they emphasized the role of co ethnic communities in dealing with blocked mobility as well as racial and ethnic discrimination and prejudice. However, more recent research

Sterilization abuse is a practice in which the woman is either unaware she is being sterilized, or she has been coerced or deceived into getting the procedure done by either being told it is a temporary or reversible procedure, or being told that by not consenting, there would be negative impacts to her immigration, housing, government benefits, or parenting.1 This method, which has been documented in the United States starting around 1907, was commonly used on poor, disadvantaged, unwed, mentally disabled women, children, and even some men, including many people within a minority group, as a way to control their fertilization and combat overpopulation. This gave the government the ability to decide who was incapable of regulating their own reproduction abilities which is what was used to justify the use of forced sterilization in these groups of people. It wasn t until the 1970 s that federal legislation passed a sterilization policy to prevent sterilization of women without their consent, but the caveat to this was those women who it applied to were those who received government assistance for medical care.2 This was their way of making an attempt to allow women to have control over their reproductive

(2014), Kidney Disease Outcomes Quality Initiative (KDOQI) guidelines defines acute renal failure (ARF) as the sudden loss of kidneyfunction, generally occurring over the course of hours to days and resulting in the retention of metabolic waste products and dysregulation of fluid, electrolyte, and acid base homeostasis. The purpose of this paper is to describe pathophysiology of ARF, to discuss specific developmental impact on adolescents with ARF, to review the different teaching methods for family and adolescents to increase compliance, and to identify different... Like adults, most pediatric patients with mild to moderate acute kidney injury are asymptomatic and are identified on laboratory testing (Rahman et al., 2012). But pediatric patients with severe cases may be symptomatic and present with oliguria, edema, fatigue or tiredness, shortness of breath, hypertension, nausea, confusion, seizures or coma (Rahman et al., 2012). Based primarily on urinalysis and blood chemistry results BUN, sCreat, sodium, potassium, and calcium levels (London et al., 2017). The gold standard to diagnose these injuries is kidney biopsy (Faught et al., 2015). It is important to identify the disease early because it might be reversible by stopping the offending agents (Chang et al., 2015; Faught et al., 2015). ARF results from drug toxicity or dehydration, the prognosis is generally good (London et al., 2017). However, ARF that results from diseases such as hemolytic uremic syndrome or acute glomerulonephritis are more likely to develop chronic kidney disease in the future (London et al., 2017; Rahman et al.; 2012, Vasudevan et al., 2012). They are also at higher risk of end stage renal disease in later in life (Rahman et al., 2012). According to Faught et al. (2015), one of the treatment options is to avoid the use of nephrotoxic drugs, particularly in those at high risk of developing renal injury. Chang et al. (2015) explained that the initial management of patients with ARF is a conservative treatment, including prompt

International and Strategic Marketing Essay International and Strategic Marketing The globalization of business markets from domestic to international has generated a unique competitive advantage for all the organizations whose products and services are being welcomed by the customers all around the world demanding mass marketing efforts. In this regard, marketing research in the international environment is having different methodology and complications with respect to geographical boundaries of a specific country in which penetration and development of a product is required. Therefore, an international market planning with strategic aligned goal, for development in the global world should be the objective of marketers to captivate international market leadership.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... International marketing concept is also the same as the general defined concept of marketing but the methodology to enter and penetrate in the international market is not the same as it is in domestic marketing. Indeed the tools and skills to enter in the international market is same but their application differs due the factors which include economy, political and legal system, and most importantly culture and buying behavior of the nation. Hence, the ideology of international marketing can be gauged in this way that the organization which offers its products and services by planning, pricing, promoting, and distributing to more than one nation other than domestic market to earn higher profit (Cateora et al., 2002). Internationalized Business Operations Many potential organizations tend to bring their operation on global level rather than national level. When the companies move to internationalization the complexity and sophistication of operations change enormously. The basic guidelines for the companies orienting in international market are described by EPRG framework (Wind, Douglas, Perlmutter, 1973). This framework deals with four types of orientation of company going to international market which are: a.

Murrow and his producer Fred Friendly who resolve to take a stand against Senator Joseph McCarthy. There was an air of fear and paranoia in the United States, in the 1950 s, because of Communism. Those fears were manipulated by McCarthy, who wanted to gain more power by calling out people who he claimed to have communist ties. His only piece of evidence involved a sealed envelope that no one could see the contents of. Murrow and his reporting team decide to do a piece on those exploitations. The first piece they do is on an air force officer who was fired because his father was deemed to be a communist. It was clear that there was no fair trial held and the officer s rights were violated. Although... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a journalist Murrow strongly believed that everyone should be aware of the affairs of the world in rightful way. He found McCarthy to be a liar who was taking away peoples right and wanted to open people s eyes, to show them that they have the right to speak out. Toward the end of his program, Murrow gave a memorable speech: This is no time for men who oppose Senator McCarthy s methods to keep silent, or for those who approve. We can deny our heritage and our history, but we cannot escape responsibility for the result. There is no way for a citizen of a republic to abdicate his responsibilities. As a nation we have come into our full inheritance at a tender age. We proclaim ourselves, as indeed we are, the defenders of freedom, wherever it continues to exist in the world, but we cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home. After Murrow s show ended, McCarthy political influence diminished. Unfortunately, the consequences of going after McCarthy caused Murrow and Friendly to practically lose their

Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (Nafld), Is A Form Of Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), is a form of chronic liver disease ranging in severity from simple fat infiltration (steatosis) to an advanced form, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH, steatosis with liver inflammation) with subsequent progression to fibrosis.1 The relationship between gut flora and the development of NAFLD have been under study for almost the last decade. Uncontrolled growth of gut bacteriaand translocation of gut microorganisms from the intestinal lumen predispose patients to multiple bacterial infections. 2 The portal vein carries blood containing digested products and gut microbiota products to the liver.3 Factors like increased gut permeability, and increased bacterial endotoxins, especially ... Current knowledge on the association between gut microbial composition and NASH is incomplete. Liver malfunction leads to altered genetic composition of gut microbial, and in the meantime specific bacterial species are present during liver pathogenesis, and the abundance of some bacteria is correlates with grade of liver disease, implying the term gut liver axis . Toll like receptors (TLRs) constitute very important players in this microbiome balance. TLRs are trans membrane non catalytic receptor proteins that prompt activation of innate and adaptive immune responses to microorganisms through recognition of conserved molecular patterns of organisms. In order to maintain immune tolerance to the luminal microorganisms the expression of TLRs by intestinal epithelial cells is normallyat its minimal.

It tries to determine the proper relationship between nature and humans from a religious perspective. Throughout history, Christians have turned to the Bible for advice on almost every aspect of life, but only a select few have been asking questions about caring for the environment. The recent environmental crisis has caused an increase in interest for this type of theology over the past fifty years. Certain passages from the Biblecalls Christians to love and care for each other and ultimately for the environment. Advocators for creation care have found verses in the Bible that suggest that God calls us to protect the Earthand serve as temporary stewards. Ecological theology seeks to find the answers to how Christians can remain true to God s will in a time of environmental destruction and what exactly is the Christian ecological responsibility. Throughout the old testament and the new testament there are a multitude of verses that relate directly to the role God calls christians to play regarding the environment. Some of the verses can be interpreted differently and the variety can lead to confusion about Gods true will. However, If Christians choose to look closely at the Bible they can find very specific sources that support the need to care for God s creation. Leviticus 25:23 states The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you reside in my land as

I knew that I was really effective at organizing and doing the task, but not so much helping. I am more quiet and sometimes it is difficult for me to explain certain concepts to people without making that person more confused than they probably already are. The Focus 2 Assessment made me realize that it is not bad to be the person I am because I can easily affect someone just as much as someone else can affect me. The Focus 2 assessment made me realize the career field that I want to pursue. After completing the work interest and personality assessment, the occupation that
