Essay Journey
Embarking on the journey of writing an essay about the concept of an "Essay Journey" proved to
be a more intricate task than initially anticipated. The seemingly simple topic unveiled layers of
complexity as I delved into the intricacies of crafting a narrative around the very process of
crafting a narrative.
The challenge lay not only in avoiding redundancy and clichГ©s but also in capturing the
essence of the essay-writing experience itself. It required a delicate balance between
introspection and objectivity, as I navigated through the labyrinth of my own thoughts and
experiences in the realm of essay composition. The task demanded a nuanced approach,
threading the fine line between personal reflection and broader insights into the nature of the
creative process.
The conundrum deepened as I attempted to convey the evolution of ideas, the twists and turns in
the thought process, and the moments of revelation that characterize the journey of constructing
an essay. Expressing the ebb and flow of inspiration, the challenges encountered, and the
triumphs achieved in a coherent and engaging manner posed a formidable writing challenge.
Moreover, the very act of dissecting the essay-writing journey necessitated a level of self-
awareness that added an extra layer of intricacy to the task. It called for a meta-analysis of the
writing process itself, creating a narrative about the act of creating narratives.
In conclusion, the journey of crafting an essay on the theme of an "Essay Journey" was a
thought-provoking expedition into the depths of self-expression and the art of storytelling. It
underscored the complexity inherent in articulating the very process of articulation. As the ink
dried on the final page, I realized that the challenge was not just in composing words but in
encapsulating the essence of an intellectual odyssey.
For those seeking assistance in navigating the intricacies of essay writing or exploring diverse
topics, it's worth noting that resources and support are readily available. Similar essays, along

Analysis Of Tom Hanks s Speech In Philadelphia
On March 21, 1994, Tom Hanks received the award for best actor at the 66th
Academy Awards for his performance as Andrew Beckett in Jonathan Demme s
1993 film Philadelphia. The acceptance speech that Hanks s delivered was an
emotionally charged classic that touched upon various aspects of his life, such as
the importance of the role that he played in the film, the impact of two individuals
from his past, and his overall faith in god. At this moment of time, Hanks used his
acceptance speech at The Oscars as a social platform in an effort to increase
awareness and compassion towards the victims of the AIDS/HIVepidemic in the
United States. Overall, Tom Hanks s Academy Award acceptance speech for his role
in Philadelphiais a powerful and effective speech because of how he uses imagery
and firsthand experience from his past to effectively create an emotional appeal to his
audience about the then AIDS/HIV epidemic that was taking the country by storm.
In the film Philadelphia, Tom Hanks plays the role of Andrew Beckett who is a
homosexual man who was wrongly fired from his job because of his HIV positive
diagnosis. During the duration of the film, Beckett s health starts to fade as his
condition gradually worsens from HIV to full blown AIDS in a heartbreaking
process that gives the audience a visual of just how punishing this disease is
(Demme, 1993). Hanks himself mentions the overall importance of this role in his
speech during which he states And there lies my dilemma here
Type 1 Insulin Research Paper
Packaging and Formulation
Insulin is considered to be a heat sensitive product which needs to be maintained at
certain optimum temperatures for it to work effectively. The transportation from the
laboratory to the consumer has to be taken into consideration as all temperature
variation can cause the efficiency of the treatment to decrease. (Lens, 2010)
In fact, there have been studies conducted which prove that if insulin is placed outside
for more than 2 mins of time it will cross its critical +8В°C threshold level. It should
also be noted that Insulin should also not drop below the +2В°C as it can be
dangerous to the chemical composition of the drug. This makes it necessary to
transport the drug with the same temperature conditions at each step.

Type 1 insulin is a result of deficiency of insulin present in the body. Whereas, Type
II insulin is caused due to the resistance to Type 1 insulin. Therefore, there have been
various types of insulin dosages characterized in the industry. They focus on the
duration and how quickly they are capable of acting. They include, rapid,
intermediate, short and long acting insulins. This will affect the type of dosages
required to sustain good blood glucose levels. (Steiner, 2009)
Dosages
The following listed below are some of the insulin drugs produced based on their
reaction within the human body. Therefore, each type of category requires a different
type of dosage (Kin, 2008).
Rapid Acting Insulins:
Some of the rapid acting insulins are: Insulin aspart (NovoLog), Insulin glusine

Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that causes individuals to have frequent seizures.
However, originally epilepsy was not considered a biological or medical issue.
Rather, It was said to be some sort of curse summoned by spirits or wrathful deities.
Famed ancient Greek physician, Hippocrates, was the first individual to document
epilepsy correctly as a biological disorder in 400 B.C. Although Hippocrates
incorrectly believed epilepsy to be a condition caused by the imbalance of certain
bodily fluids, he did correctly conclude that the condition was natural and
neurological. Centuries later English neurologist, John Hughlings Jackson, accurately
determined that seizures resulted from excessive electrical discharges ... Show more

Martin Bomber Plant Essay
Everyone in the United States, and the world, knows about the dropping of the
atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II. There are countless
pictures, bombs, and destruction caused, but where did it all start? It started in the
Martin Bomber Plant right here in Nebraska.
The Martin Bomber Plant was commissioned well before Pearl Harbor in September
1940. All over the country, plants were being opened to make bombs, tanks, guns,
and more. Even though the Unites States wasn t fighting in the war yet, we sold
these items to other countries. The plants were also built in preparation for full on
war. Many people in the government wanted to be well prepared for when the United
States would inevitably enter the war.
The U.S. War Department decided to create two new assembly plants on the
interior of the country. The plants needed to be at least 200 miles from the coast.
This was to ensure that the plants would be spared if an assault would have
occurred on the coasts. One of the plants was at Fort Cook that was owned by the
War Department. It was later called the Offutt Air Force Base. This plant supplied the
war effort with many B 26 bombers, like the Martin Bomber Plant in Baltimore. Now,
the government need the second plant.
Rumors quickly spread that more Nebraska communities were being considered for a
plant. These rumors turned out to be true. Vital plants were built near Omaha, Mead,
Hastings, Grand Island, and Sidney. These plants created numerous jobs
Essay about Advice to Youth and Mark Twain
Mark Twain, known at the time to be a humorous author, wrote a speech on Advice
to Youth. Twain gives several pieces of advice all with a twist of honesty attached.
The way this speech was written suggest that it would have been delivered at a
graduation ceremony. Perhaps Twain was asked to speak at a college graduation
ceremony and was going to deliver this speech. It is the perfect speech to relate to
youth. Twain s advice begins with always obey your parents... (Norton, 550) which
is sound advice. The rule of obeying one s parents comes right from the Ten
Commandments. Obeying one s parents is a rule that is as old as time, engraved in
everyday teachings. Twain twists this idea and adds ... when they are present (Norton,
550) saying... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Twain is relating to the target audience. Twain is getting into the shoes of a youth
in their era. This is one way to get the youth to listen and respond in a positive way.
Twain writes every sentence positively then ends sarcastically. If a person offends
you ... hit him with a brick (Norton, 550). This line is hilarious. Twain is telling
young adults it is ok to act out aggressively, just wait for the appropriate time and
place. Also, if it is the wrong person you act out against just apologize and
everything will be fine. The lark is commonly used as a symbol in a variety of
ways. Twain uses the lark in the part about going to bed early and waking up early.
Waking up with the sun is the normal time to rise for the year this was written.
Depending on the time of year the sun usually rises at about seven in the morning.
Twain says to wake up with a lark is respectable but you can easily train him to get
up at half past nine (Norton, 550). Meaning on average this would give you an
extra two and a half hours to sleep in. This is evidence showing that Twain is
writing to teens or college students because they are usually the ones who like to
sleep the day away. Mark Twains advice on lying is do not get caught. Twain says
once caught, you can never again be, in the eyes of the good and the pure (Norton,
550) Meaning once a person lies, that person is a liar. Branded like cattle, forever
having a mark of the liar. It literally scars a
The Role Of Technology In Education
Technologies role
We re living in a country that is called a technologically civilized society. The use of
the internet has not changed the way that we think. However, it is making unique
contributions in classrooms by providing us with immediate and convenient access to
an extraordinary amount of ideas and information. In the world that we currently live
in, technology is a very vital factor . Today most people are more familiar with the
technically advanced gadget that they carry in their backpack, or their pocket. Every
other day a new software device is being brought into the marketplace, which helps
improve our knowledge in and out of school. One of the advantages that the internet
provides students with, is being able to access all sorts of books that are available at
any time. Despite the fact that technology plays a positive role in making our school
lives much easier, it also has a negative effect. The internet seems to be impairing our
ability to focus and to think deeply on any subject. The more technology continues to
grow, the more improvement it provides in an education level for certain students;
while for others it has a very different effect in the way we read and take in
information. In this paper, I will be discussing both pros and cons of the way
technology is used in and out of our schools today.
To begin with, the continuing advances in the technological world, students are
In Today’S Global Market, China Is One, If Not The
World’S
In today s global market, China is one, if not the world s most important player.
When China s economy is doing well, the majority of the world s economies tend
to do the same. When China s economy is slow, the rest of the world usually
follows. At the start of the 2016 year, China s stock market declined by 7% (Best).
Stock markets in Europe, Asia, and the United States quickly followed the trend. It is
clear that when Chinaslows down, its trade partners follow. China affects a lot of
countries. Three examples include oil, commodities, and trade (Best). When there is
not a lot of supply of a certain item, the prices usually skyrocket and the supplier
benefits. On the flipside, when there is oversupply, the economy can suffer. This is...

After the war, Mao Zedong took over China in 1949 (BBC History Mao Zedong).
Shortly after, China s influence in the global economy declined. China s involvement
in the global economy was only 5% during his rule (Holodny). This happened as a
result from Mao Zedong implementing The Great Leap Forward in 1958, and the
Cultural Revolution in 1966. The Great Leap Forward was an attempt to modernize
China s economy so that it could match up with the economy of the United States by
around 1988 (Trueman). He saw potential growth in agriculture and industry. His
reasoning for choosing agriculture and industry was that one could not blossom
without the other. Agriculture needed industry because they needed the best
machinery and equipment to succeed, while the industry would prosper if it was fed
well by agriculture. To do this, the government took complete control. Schools, tools,
retirement homes, entertainment, and healthcare were all provided by the
government (Trueman). This would ensure all the people could work. After the first
year, everything seemed great according to plan. Things would turn around at the
start of 1959. In 1959, the government wanted its people to work faster to produce
more products. This caused workers to work long hours every day. Due to the quick
production, the goods lacked quality. The steel that was produced was too weak for
construction, which was its intended purpose. Buildings that were erected would not

Comparing Two Movie Comparison Research Paper
Comparing and Contrasting Two Love Stories There are many differences between
Pride and Prejudice and Spirited Away. However, despite that both are made for
two types of age groups and each have a different plot, there are also many things
that these two movies have in common. They are love stories, but not necessarily
romantic. In this essay I will compare and contrast two films by pointing towards
their different settings and lifestyles, explaining the similarities I found while
watching them, and Pride and Prejudice is a classic novelby Jane Austen. It is based
around a romantic setting. Unlike Spirited Away, it is completely focused around a
girl and her loveinterests. It also has an old, comfortable feeling to the movie s
atmosphere.
On Being Anointed and the Great Awakening Essay
Why do we need another Great awakening? When I think of an Awakening, even
after our class, my mind immediately goes to images of eighteenth century
revivalists like Jonathan Edwards, George Whitfield, Jereena Lee and a large
constellation of other preaching giants of yesteryear. These men and women created
a legacy of spiritual fervor which has earned them a place in the annals of American
religious history. Their effectiveness as preachers of the word and proclaimers of
truth permeated a nation s consciousness and snatched the nation from spiritual
decline.
Several questions arise as I think of the Awakenings of years past. My first question
is whether our nation is as spiritually receptive of an Awakening as it was two
hundred years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps that is what we need a contemporary awakening to do. In the face of drone
strikes, unending poverty, mass incarceration, and myriad social issues with spiritual
ramifications, an Awakening is what is needed to turn this nation, its culture and its
people around. I think there needs to be a turning to a moral center; be it God
(thinking out of my Christian context), or to a common place of civility and mutual
understanding. The church has a unique role to play in bringing renewal and
restoration to the brokenness of the world. I think that the mission the broken,
crucified, despised Jesus was and is healing brokenness. Jesus Christ was anointed
to do the work of restoring a sick and sad nation. I, therefore, hold as my point of
departure that in Jesus Christ we are anointed to preach in a way that will awaken
the nation to wholeness and to the reality of God s reign on Earth. In light of my
theme, this paper hopes to accomplish three goals. My first goal is to reflect on the
calling forth of bold, brave, and anointed preachers in James A. Forbes book The
Holy Spirit and Preaching. Second, I will explore the preaching ministry of Howard
Washington Thurman who, I think, exemplifies what it means to operate in the
anointing of Christ. Finally, I will take these considerations about the Holy Spirit and
Howard Thurman, and reflect on my own preaching ministry, which nears eleven

Technology On Children And Children In Hanna Rosin s
The...
Have you ever thought about what affects technology actually has on a growing child
s mind? In Hanna Rosin s, The Touch Screen Generation, she suggests that touch
screens are not inherently bad for kids. Many people think that if children spend too
much time on electronic devices such as, iPad, cell phones and tablets, it will take
tolls on the child s physical and mental growth and development. There are also many
that believe that technologyis very beneficial to the growth and development of
children. There are also many people that believe technology is misshaping and
effecting family structure and function. Many people also believe that technology is
disintegrating the core values of families. There are so many children who are so
technologically inclined, that they will always rely on the technology being
available. There are many pros and cons to children spending an abundant amount of
time on technology. There are many different opinions about how technology affects
children and families. Some parents rely heavily on technology to entertain children
while they need to keep their children occupied. Entertainmenttechnology (TV,
Internet, video games, iPads, and cell phones) has advanced so rapidly, that families
have scarcely noticed the significant impact and changes to their family structure and
lifestyles. (The Impact of Technology on the Developing Child) There are so many
children that have become so engulfed in electronicsbecause that is all they have
grown up with to keep them entertained. A 2010 Kaiser Foundation study showed
that elementary aged children use on average 7.5 hours per day of entertainment
technology, 75 percent of these children have TV s in their bedrooms, and 50
percent of North American homes have the TV on all day. (The Impact of
Technology on the Developing Child) Some people believe that old fashion is the
way things should be. Some believe that technology is taking away the things that
used to be an everyday thing in most households. The fracturing of households is
solely to blame on technology. Gone is dining room table conversation, replaced by
the big screen and take out. (The Impact of Technology on the Developing Child) One

African American Civil Rights Movement
Following World War I, a new, militant spirit of resistance and activism burgeoned
among African American citizens across the United States. Empowered by the sense
that blacks had played a crucial role in the conflict, the descendants of freedmen
returned home to fight for their own rights only to find persecution; this dire situation
called for immediate, decisive action. During the interwar years, African Americans in
the southwest Georgia Black Belt fought for community empowerment and, through
the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the
Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA), and numerous other political and
labor oriented groups, established a significant organizing tradition, thereby laying the

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had led the community in mass demonstrations the
previous year. Indeed, almost every historian who has dealt with the southwest
Georgia movement has made a similar assertion. However, such a notion could not be
farther from the truth. The organizing tradition amongst oppressed African
Americans involved a sustained working class struggle over several decades that was
both tenacious and politically heterogeneous. In order to more fully understand the
agendas and motivations for this political activity in southwest Georgia, one must
first have some clue as to the nature and scope of their economic options. In 1935,
noted statistician Charles E. Hall, under the supervision of Z.R. Pettet of the United
States Bureau of the Census, published an exhaustive study of the social and
economic characteristics of African America entitled Negroes in the United States.
Based upon information gathered by the Census Bureau, the work provides
invaluable insight into the lives and movements of black Americans in the early part
of the century. One crucial inference that may be drawn from Hall s compilation is
the overwhelmingly rural composition of the African American population in
southwest Georgia counties as late as 1930. For the purposes of the study, Hall
employed the terms urban and rural in accordance with the meanings assigned
Kids In Factories
It was not rare to find kids working for long days and hours in mills or factories or
other places of trade. It was called child labor. Many families lived off of the
income that their kids brought home every day. Concern from the public about the
fact that these kids had to work so much and so hard began to rise. Supporters for
childlabor laws proved that children who worked such long days, such as 26 27
hours a week, were always rundown, depressed, and deprived of real education,
fresh air, and time to play with friends and act like children. They also were
concerned about the physical risks that these kids could have. Kids in factories had
high accident rates. Some states passed laws limiting child labor, but these states had
restrictions that held an economic drawback. The case was brought to the Supreme
Court by Roland H. Dagenhart. Roland Dagenhart was from North Carolina and he
worked at a cloth mill with his two sons. He sued... Show more content on

In reply to the concerns from the people, Congress passed the Keating Owen Act
of 1916. This law banned the delivery across borders of the states of goods made in
factories which hired kids under the age of 14, or kids between 14 and 16 who
worked overnight shifts, more than eight hours a day, or more than six days/week.
This is what was considered to be child labor. In this case there was majority and
minority opinions of the Supreme Court. The majority was William Day. The
minority had to have been Oliver W. Holmes. The rationale for the justices opinions
on the case is 1st, he claimed that the law was not a rule of trade. After that, he
thought the Tenth Amendment gave up the power to make sure that there are rules in
place for child labor so that the states could decide on their own what they wanted. In
the end, his freedom and property was secured by the Fifth Amendment and this
included the right to let his sons

What caused Ranbir concern was the lack of consensus among the various
stakeholder groups in the Indian
Railways about the idea of tracking the rolling stock
(freight railcars, passenger coaches, locomotives). The need to automate such
tracking especially for freight railcars6 had been felt for almost two decades.
Initially, the available technology was too expensive, and experimental in nature;
however, lately, technologies had stabilized, and costs had come down. Various
options had become available to automate the tracking, ranging from the use of RFID
tags to the use of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) based technology. Other
available alternatives were the use of optical tracking systems using OCR, or the use
of hand held devices to manually record wagon identification data.
Ranbir scrutinized the thick file of papers in front of him.
It described the pilot project for automatic wagon tracking, which had recently
commenced. The pilot project envisaged the use of RFID technology, already proven
in North
American railroads and other Railways, to tag 500 coal hopper wagons (Figure 1).
Three trackside tag readers would be placed along one of the routes used for

The CAN SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes
requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have entities stop
emailing them, and sets forth the penalties for violations. However, the law does not
apply just to bulk e mail. It covers all commercial messages, which the law defines as

Commission, 2009).
If an entity is found guilty of violating the CAN SPAM Act, each separate email in
violation is subject to penalties of up to $16,000 and more than one person may be
held responsible for violations. The CAN SPAM Act has certain aggravated
violations that may give rise to additional fines. The law provides for criminal
penalties including imprisonment for:

The cops show up and Hunting is arrested for hitting a cop and sent to jail. It is
then that Will solves the complicated math equation. He is sent to jail but the
professor, who must have had some pull in Boston was able to get Will out of jail if
he works on math proofs and see a psychologist.
Hunting agrees, but has a hard time with dealing with a psychologist, scaring five
away, two are shown. He then meets Lambeau s old college roommate, Sean
Maguire (Robin Williams). It is Maguire that turns Will around because he is not
afraid to talk back to him.
The movie really relates the main idea of the story and that is what psychologists
call intimacy. The two characters of Will and Sean are the central focus of the
movie. Skylark, Chuckie and his friends help in the bigger scope but the relationship
between the psychologist Sean and Will is what really counts in this tale.
The main focus is placed on Will, whom has a rare genius to put together abstract
math problems and finds it hard to relate to world without getting arrested for doing
something violent and rebellious. He grew up in South Boston and the hard streets
have jaded him, while his intelligence further isolated him from people and made
him hostile to other people. In the beginning of the film, Will is discovered by
Lambeu (Stellan Skarsgard) a professor of mathematics, and his well being becomes
a serious issue and he is pursued. While placing a difficult math problem on the

the album cost approximately AUD $4,000 to produce and it sold 100,000 copies in

in the country . Eventually, they moved to larger arenas such as the Beacon

Ku Klux Clan ( Kkk )
Ku Klux Clan (KKK) The Ku Klux Clan, notoriously known as the (KKK), was first
established as a social club. As time progressed, the clan became an underground
movement dedicating itself to violent acts of terror. The clan s primary goal was to
repress Republican leaders and voters, both white and black, in attempts to restore
white supremacy. The Federal Government attempted to step in and intervene but
consequently failed in their attempts. The ratification of the Fifteenth Amendment
was colossal, prohibiting states the power to deny citizens the right to vote because of
race, color, or servitude. This Amendment was a direct result of southern states failing
to adhere by the rules of the Fourteenth Amendment. Overall, the Federal Government
stepped up and played their part with the ratification of the Fifteenth Amendment.
However, it s one thing to actually ratify something, and it s a completely different
ball game when attempting to enforce it. Republicans had great success in passing
their legislative agenda for Reconstruction in Washington, D.C., but the enforcement
of those laws in the south remained very much in question. This is a perfect example
of the Federal Government intervening but not progressing on the situation at hand.
Another great example of this is, The twenty thousand federal troops stationed in the
South in 1867 were not nearly enough to pacify regions such as Carolina up country,
where Klan was at its greatest strength. Again, the
The Difference Between Shakespearean And Aristotelian
Tragedy
Tragedies across Time
In our modern language, the word tragedy has become a word that describes
mundane incidents that are negative. At the most, a tragedy is used describe horrific
event that involves severe misfortune; however, when comes to the theatre term, the
definition of tragedy is much more specific then the modern use of the word. In
essence, a tragedy depending on the time and place was used to tell the tale of tragic
hero and the flaw that contributed his eventual downfall. Unfortunately, this too
simple of an answer. Shakespearean and Aristotelian tragedy are the most widely
excepted forms of theatric tragedy, yet their execution and their method of exposition
have major difference which greatly effects the interpretation of the story.
To understand the differences between Shakespearean and Aristotelian tragedy, first it
is important to understand each style individually. Starting first with the oldest form,
Aristotelian Tragedy, the key of understanding is to understand its origins. B.L.
Ullman, the mention of tragedy by Aristotle in his book, Poetic, as he explains the
fundamental differences between tragedy and history. This is where the bases for
Greek tragedy came forth. For Aristotle, tragedy was the following:
Tragedy, then, is an imitation of an action that is serious, complete, and of a certain
magnitude; in language embellished with each kind of artistic ornament, the several
kinds being found in separate parts of the play; in the form of
Thin Blue Line And The Fog Of War Essay
The essay film, as contextualized in this course by AgneМЂs Varda and Ross
McElwee, has been defined by many traits, perhaps most notable in the physical
presence of said directors in their films; at times on screen, at times in voiceovers,
sometimes a combination of thereof. Over the span of several class meetings, this
particular trait (the filmmaker s presence a la Varda and McElwee) and its
implications became the epicenter of most discussions, as well as the assumed
baseline by which other directors would be critiqued. In this paper, the argument
advanced is that by the standard(s) that emerged from the class discussions and
evaluations of the aforementioned directors, Errol Morris specifically in his films
The Thin Blue Line and The Fog of War technically is not an essayistic film maker.
However, this stance also states that Morris is a film essayist by other means, in that
Morris simply implements Laura Rascaroli s thoughts on reflectivity and subjectivity
in a form dissimilar to Varda and McElwee.
What makes a film essayistic? It isn t a film maker video recording an actual
traditional essay of words on paper, but rather certain thoughts conveyed through film

Stella Bruzzi outlines his most obvious one. Morris aim is consistently marry
individual testimony with historical events... (Bruzzi 231). This is undeniable in
both Thin Blue Line and Fog of War. The entire focus of Thin Blue Line is on the
subjectivity of a single event the murder of a cop and subsequent trial of the
perpetrator(s) through the eyes of several individuals uniquely connected to the
incident s occurrence (which holds in itself the reflectivity). In Fog of War there is
a single testimony for several events in Robert McNamara s dynamic reflection on
his experiences as US Secretary of Defense during what many scholars consider to be
some of the most important years in modern American

A Study On Traumatic Brain Injury
parindent{ }Traumatic brain injury is a significant health problem in the United
States that is estimated to occur in 1.6 1.8 million persons annually
(citealt{faul2010}). Diffuse axonal injury is %the most frequently occurring a
common type of traumatic brain injury primarily characterized by damage to the
axons (citealt{smith2000, Gennarelli1982}). An improved understanding of the
pathophysiology of diffuse axonal injury is needed to develop improved diagnostic
tools, protective measures and rehabilitation treatments(citealt{Giordano2014}).
Many techniques have been developed to help elucidate the injury mechanism
associated with diffuse axonal injury over years. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is
one such technique where the mesoscale structural information is studied to
investigate the diffuse axonal injury. Finite element models have also provided a
means to investigate diffuse axonal injury. Several finite element head models have
been developed and reported in the literature
(citealt{shugar1977,ward1980,hosey1982,Ruan1991,mendis1992,bandak1995,kang1997,al199
These models have demonstrated that over time, the structural resolution of the head
models, including advancements in constitutive laws, anatomical resolution, and
injury descriptions were improved. Previous studies have shown that the brain tissue

Suicide In Romeo And Juliet
Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet is one play in a series of stories about two young
lovers with feuding families. The first known story was in the fifth century A.D.,
not printed until 1726, called Ephesiaca by Xenophon of Ephesus. The wife is
separated from her husband and to avoid marrying another man, she takes a
sleeping potion. She wakes up in a tomb and is carried off for other adventures.
Based on this story is Masuccio s Il Novellino of 1476. It is an Italian story about
Mariotto and Giannozza. A Friar secretly marries them, and then Mariotto kills an
important citizen and is exiled to Alexandria. Giannozza takes a sleeping potion to
avoid marrying a man of her fathers choosing and after being buried, sneaks away to
Alexandria. Pirates... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is beheaded and Giannozza comes back and dies in a convent. The sequences
of events in this story are very similar to Romeo and Juliet. However, there is no
mention of feuding families and the lovers do not commit suicide. In 1530 Luigi
da Porto published Historia novellamente ritrovata di due Nobili Amanti based on
Masuccio s story but set in Verona with feuding families, the Montecchi and the
Cappelletti. Romeo meets Giulietta at a Carnival ball and forgets about an
unrequited love he has for another girl. They see each other at church and Romeo
visits her chamber window. Romeo mistakes Giulietta s sleeping for her death and
kills himself. When Giulietta wakes she drew in her breath and held it long, and
then, uttering a great cry, fell dead on the corpse of Romeo. It lacks characters
comparable to the Nurse and Benvolio but Mercutio has an undeveloped counterpart
in this narrative, named Marcuccio. Inspired by Porto, Matteo Bandello wrote
Novelle in 1554. In this version, Julietta wants to run off with the banished Romeo
but he forbids it. Romeo writes a letter to his father explaining everything when he
learns the false news that Julietta is dead. Julietta and Romeo share a scene in the
tomb
Rhetorical Analysis Of The Wiley College Debate

act of violence, 379 people died, including children. At the last part of the debate,
he uses another rhetorical question which is The definition of moral: Dyer s lesson
or Gandhi s victory. You choose. He purposely asks us this because he knows that
the audience will likely to choose Gandhi s victory because it is far better than
killing people to call it a moral victory . After the first debater was finished Samantha

Regarding the Baroque period, it is stated the period of time in Western Europe
from about 1600 to the mid 1700s was one of religious, political, and scientific
upheaval, and these tensions are reflected in the arts of the age. Focusing on the
political end, King Louis XIV of France used the style of art during this period to
portray himself as an absolute monarch. The phrase absolute monarch refers to the
method that kings would use to consolidate their power and resources at the
expense of the nobility of the church. King Louis XIV is known to be the most
successful of the absolute monarchs. In order to achieve this, he relied heavily on
the art and style of the Baroque period. The art was used to emulate their power, and

Fairy Tales By Hans Christian Anderson
Once upon a time... are words that almost every child is familiar with. Following
these words comes tales of adventure and romance that display ideals that are
transmitted from society into the fairy tales. These fairy tales teach children how to
act and what their place is in society. One of these fairy tales is Cinderellaby Hans
Christian Anderson. When first reading the children s book, it is simply about a poor
girl whose wishes come true but, when looking deeper into the story, there is a hidden
message that reflects society s standards that ultimately influence children s ideals
based on the characters portrayals, genderroles, and on their identity.
The story of Cinderella based on Hans Christian Anderson s version, portrays a young
girl who was of ...unparalleled goodness and sweetness of temper. After her mother s
death, her father remarried, ...his second wife was the proudest and most haughty
woman that was ever seen. The stepmother had two daughters who were, exactly
like her in all things. The stepmother and stepsisters forced Cinderella to do all the
hand work around the house such as scrubbing the floors. News was brought that
the King s son was going to hold a ball and immediately the step sisters began to
find the most lavish dresses they could. For poor Cinderella, she was not permitted
to go by the stepmother who said, it would make people laugh to see a cinder wench
at a ball (Anderson).
Once the stepsisters and stepmom had left for the ball,

Dodecane: 5.50 min The smaller the alkane the faster it will reach the detector,
therefore the shorter the retention time. This is because alkanes experience
intermolecular Van der waal forces. The stronger these forces are the greater the

are, meaning they have stronger forces (and a higher boiling point). Components

On the receiving end, the demodulator works by detecting one or both of the
frequencies, often with a band pass filter, regenerating the input signal. You can also
use a signal processor to convert the carrier from time domain to frequency domain
with a fourier transform, and then pick off the signal that way.) The FSK method of
modulating/demodulation is typically limited to low frequency signal rates, such as
300 bits per second
1.2.2: FSK DEMODULATION:
FSK demodulation is the process of recovering the original signal by detecting the
frequencies involved in the original modulation. Typically, this is done with a
bandpass amplifier tuned to one of the two frequencies, followed by a amplitude
demodulator. The output is the original signal. It is possible, though often
unecessary, to use two bandpass ampliers, one for each frequency, but this is
redundant. It is also possible to use a digital signal processing technique to perform a
fourier transform on the input signal, but that can be complex and costly.
This is the method used in very early modems, up to around 1200 baud.
It is also possible, using FSK, to send multiple signals across one line. Simply pick
suitable frequencies for each modulation state, and mix the outputs into one
consolidated analog signal. On the other end, you have multiple bandpass filters
running at the same time and, as long as the chosen frequencies are
The Importance Of Being A Successful Work Of A Trumpet
Player
Anxiety, endurance, knowledge, Focus, Preparation
As a trumpeter a successful musical performance experience is the ultimate goal.
We spend countless hours trying to prefect our craft that at times can feel like a
futile endeavor. In our preparation for the perfect performance at times we forget to
address our greatest impediments that can take control of our performance. These
impediments vary greatly from person to person, but overall there seems to be some
commonality for most trumpeter as well as all brass players. Performance anxiety,
technical proficiency, endurance, preparation, and knowledge seems to be the most
common impediment to a successful performance for trumpet players.

Benefits Of Raising Minimum Wage
Creating jobs, raising minimum wage, donating to the poor are not going to erase
the poverty out of the United States of America. The government defines poverty as
the bottom fifteen percent of annual income. No matter what one does to increase a
person s income there will always be someone in poverty. Across America there are
always charities, religious groups, and civic clubs who are givingto the poor from
food giveaways, clothing giveaways, free tutoring, free health screenings, whatever
else there is constantly something for the poor to benefit from. The problem is that
people want to help, but if they are constantly giving the needy these items, services,

If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime ( Chinese par. 1). This
ancient proverb has some truth in it. Right now in America, the poor are not being
taught how to fish instead they are relying on charities to give away food and
clothing for them to survive. Through work readiness programs and a reform in
food and clothing distribution, charities can cut the parasite of the dependent poor
and prepare them to go out and earn what they need. Job preparation programs are
an excellent way to minister the poor and needy by preparing them for the future
and empowering them to be able to take care of themselves. In Seat Pleasant,
Maryland, the Training Source offers job training program, self improvement
workshops, and skill training. The Training Source is teaching those who do not
have jobs, job skills which will equip them and help them to find a job (Singletary
par. 9). Once the poor and needy have a job, they will not need to rely on donations
of food and clothing to survive. In my hometown, Anniston, Alabama, the Christians
Women s Job Corp and the Christian Men s Job Corp pairs men and women up with
mentors who will help the needy with obtaining their GED, interviewing skills,
resume building, how to dress for success, and applying for jobs. The job corps also
provide, upon completion of classes, interview appropriate clothing and
transportation to job interviews. Both of these programs are helping
Blue Collar Brilliance By Mike Rose
The articles Blue Collar Brilliance written by Mike Rose and Are Too Many People
Going to College? by Charles Murray discuss the importance of education and its
outcomes. Both authors talk about people s careers on the aspect of whether a
college degree made them succeed in life or it is just an expensive waste of time.
Also, each article has its own opinion over the fact that some people with college
education aren t able to find jobs while others with no college background are able
to succeed. Rose and Murray, both agreed on the idea that college isn t for all just
simply because of its cost, and how each person s intelligence does not depend on
their acceptance to a college; further, both authors also acknowledge the
importance of blue collar workers and their prosperity. First, Mike Rose starts
making references on how some people can t afford a college education and
through this, they believe that they don t need to get a degree in order to work or
learn something different; those who can t go to college, look for any possible way
of getting an education that could help them discover a different path for their life.
Different levels of intelligence and particular talents set people apart and make them
unique in their own way which help them to carry on with their life. On the other
hand, Charles Murray addresses that now, high school students have a new approach
about getting a college education. They now believe that getting a B.A. would
guarantee them a job and
Reflection Paper On Poverty Walk
Today I began the first day of my Poverty walk. Prior to start of this experience, I
took note of the simple foods I could eat that would remain within the spectrum of
$3.25. I concluded that Ramen noodles, applesauce, and black beans would build
up the majority of what I will be eating this week. If money is available, I will
include a tiny serving of meat to my meal. I am fortunate enough to live in close
proximity to my classes and was able to skip the bus fare by walking. For lunch, I ate
a generous serving of Ramennoodles that I have bought for $0.29 per one pack. Due
to the lack of additional nutrients, my slight hunger never subdued. If one limited
meal was enough to cause discomfort in my stomach, how am I to continue a whole
week of this process? It is day one of my Poverty walk, and I already have gained a
respect for individuals experiencing this calamity on a day to day basis. Come
dinnertime, a friend of mine was celebrating her birthday at the Reber Thomas
Dining Hall on campus. Despite the fact that I would be unable to afford a full
meal, I have decided to participate in celebrating my friend s special day. I gathered
a plate of black beans, which I have calculated would cost an average of $0.48 per
four ounces. Given that I had additional money left from my lack of breakfast and
limited lunch portion, I splurged slightly and had a small serving of ground beef to
my plate. This serving would cost about $1.16 for the four ounces I ate. When I sat

the intense deep sea environments. First and foremost, every species has different
ways of adapting to the world around them. These simple adaptations allow them to
survive their extreme living environments. One creature has many features that
contribute to its living space. The giant squid is a worldwide squid that adapts... Show

One of these creatures are the yeti crabs. These crabs live near the thermal vents at
the bottom of the deep sea. Their white color could be due to their obscured
environment. There is a reason these crabs are called yeti crabs . Yetis have hair,
so this would represent the crab s distinct features. As said in the article, these
crabs are Dubbed yeti crabs for their hairy chests and legs, these creatures are new
to science (p.3). This has grown on the crabs over many years to adapt to the
thermal vents around its living space. The yeti crab lives in a mixed climate where
it is very hot and very cold at the same time. When these two temperatures collide,
chemical reactions produce an array of mineral compounds, which many organisms
consider food (p.2). Animals such as the yeti crab depend on chemistry rather than
photosynthesis. Since these crabs are new to science and new to the studies of
scientists, they aren t sure but conjecture that mineral eating bacteria might grow on
the crabs hairs and that the crabs might scoop up the bacteria (p.3). This differs from
the other crabs in the world. Maybe the more the yeti crabs live near the thermal
vents, they will adapt even more and evolve
Equal Pay For Women And Equal Equality
The divide between genders has been fought over for many years, dating back to the
1800 s where families started to grow and an income increase was needed, as a result
women began working alongside men in factories, but for much smaller pay. As the
world started to modernize, social norms related to women started to change. Women
were granted the right to vote through the nineteenth amendment and were provided
access to health care and birth control. Women should be seen as equal to men and
given equal opportunities.
Equal pay for women and even minority groups should be expected, and should not
be an issue today. In 1963, women who worked full time, year round made 59 cents
on average for every dollar earned by men. In 2010, women earned 77 cents to men
s dollar. That means that the wage gap has narrowed by less than half a cent per year
(National Committee on Pay Equity). The Equal Pay Act attempted to make equal
pay and get rid of discrimination in the workplace has continued to slowly progress,
but it is still extremely large today. As of 2017, women earn about eighty cents for
every dollar earned by men. Furthermore, the amount of time the Equal Pay Act is
taking is ridiculous and should immediately change women s income in the
workplace. Equality for pay doesn t look like it will be happening very soon, Based
on its research, the Institute for Women s Policy Research estimated in 2015 that
women won t
Dr Hastings Monologue
Dr. Hastings runs over and sedates Wilbur again. Wilbur falls back asleep. There is
a buzzing on Dr. Hastings phone. DR. HASTINGS Ugh! Finally! Buddy here!
Imaginary Friend extraordinaire! Did you guys complete the task? You didn t?
What happened? Oh my god. You are letting me down, Clyde. Do you want your
father to die or not? I think I can send you to the final room through a different
door. Gia and Dale will unfortunately be able to go too. But still only one of us gets
the treasure. It had better be me or your father will always think of you as a failure.
As this is going on, Janet is taking notice of how Dr. Hastings is sedating her
husband. DR. HASTINGS... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

your help so far. WINSLOW Thanks, but I really think you should do it. Do it for
your dad. The ol pops! CLYDE All right. Clyde walks up to the other bomb. Clyde
and Dale each take their position and grab wire cutters. BUDDY(OS) Ok, good
luck boys! First one into the safe wins! Time starts... now! The bombs begin to

progressively more nervous as the ticker ticks down. People are yelling words of

Gia! Do something! Gia runs over to Clyde and takes his wire cutters from him.
CLYDE What are you doing? Gia runs back to the viewing area and Clyde follows
her trying to get his wire cutters back. 42. DALE Yes! I... I got it! I defused it! With
5 seconds left! As the 5 seconds count down, Dale shows off and celebrates around
his defused bomb as he prepares to crack the safe. Clyde s bomb explodes at
Natural History Of Us Essay
I received an e arc of The Natural History of Us by Rachel Harris from Spencer Hill
Press via Inkslinger PR in conjunction with The Natural History of Us Blog Tour.
This has in no way influenced my thoughts and feelings about the book.
This is the first YA book from Rachel Harris that I have read, which is totally wired
because I love her stuff. I have only read her NA books before this one. So when I
received this for review, I was very excited and I loved it.
The Natural History of Us was a fun, emotional read that is sweet and adorable. You
want to find out what happened? What is going to happen? And how everything is
going to be fixed?
The Natural History of Us follows protagonist Justin and Peyton. Two people that
were torn apart and with a school ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am not saying that his friends are horrible, because they are not. But he needs
someone to be there for me, for him to tell everything. He had that in Peyton, until
everything went south.
I liked that setting of The Natural History of Us. I don t know what it s like to live
on a farm, but the way that it s presented in the book, let me use my imagination and
it was really fun.
Nevertheless, there were also some really amazing things that happened in The
Natural History of Us. That made you want to cry. They weren t the amazing that is
the best thing in the world, but the amazing, that I am glad that Rachel Harris used
them in her book.
I love Rachel Harris writing style, it s easy to read and you know that when you start
her books, you are going to finish them pretty quickly because you want to know
what is going to happen next.
Overall, The Natural History of Us tells us a story of how two people that have
been torn apart can be brought back together. With writing that is captivating, a story
line that is intriguing and characters that you want to be friends with, The Natural
History of Us is a book for every contemporary fan or
Persuasive Essay On Optimism
Looking at the bright side and noticing what is right as opposed to what is wrong is
not normal for most people. It is commonly thought that being optimistic is not being
realistic and even though that is true for some people, there are ways to be optimistic
in a healthy manner that can help one see life s challenges realistically even when
times get tough. Being optimistic is a skill that takes effort and thoughtbut spending
the time to work on cultivating optimismcan be life changing. Cultivating optimism is
one of the happiness enhancing strategies that has been shown to increase happiness
levels and positive thoughts about the future, which is the concept which I
experimented with when I conducted the Best Possible Selves activity.... Show more

This has had an impact on my life growing up because I was bullied for a majority of
my life and going to Disney was the one place where I did not feel judged. I want to
be able to spread that magic and joy to other children, especially those who have
similar stories, by making them feel special and included because I know how life
changing that was for me.
The third goal I have is to lead an authentic life with a partner who cares about me
and allows me to be my true self. I believe that in society people work too hard to
please others and fit into the mold of what is viewed as normal. I know that this
lifestyle does not allow for authenticity or creativity because I have adhered to it
for several years and am now starting to face the consequences of not being my true
self around my family and friends. I want to be with someone who makes me feel
celebrated and special for who I am whether it be having funky colored hair, going to
Disney World as an adult, saying sarcastic funny comments, or whatever other aspects
make up my being.
While creating these goals for myself I was able to think about more cohesive steps
that will lead me in the right direction towards achieving them. In order to become a
successful journalist, I plan to continue studying journalism in college and write for
Analyzing Smith´s The Meaning and End of Religion
In his seminal work, The Meaning and End of Religion, Wilfred Cantwell Smith
proposes using two separate concepts for religious studies. Believing that the
conventional approach of studying a religion or the religions is inadequate and
misleading, Smith states, If religion or a religion is anything at all, it is not only in
fact but in theory something in which actual living, historical persons are involved
(1838). Therefore, he offers his theories of examining faithand cumulative tradition as
more valuable for any intellectual analysis of the religious experience of mankind.
With these two separate, albeit, related concepts, Smith theorizes that religious
studies can better grasp both the mundane and the transcendent aspects... Show more

A severe rift has recently developed in the United Methodist Church concerning this
very topic. While the church s laws, found in the Methodist Book of Discipline,
officially welcome and value homosexuals as members of the church, the laws also
declare that the practice of homosexuality violates the church s teaching, and they
thereby prohibit practicing homosexuals from serving in the clergy and bar clergy
from officiating at same sex unions (Wangsness). Some members of the church have
called for changes to the Book of Discipline, believing that the passages on
homosexuality are contradictory. A number of clergy have even come to their own
interpretation of church law, or openly violated it, when acting in accordance with
their personal faith by officiating at same sex unions (Otterman). This split in the
United Methodist Church over gay marriage provides an excellent example of Smith
s reference to a Christian Church whose theology is inadequate and which could
benefit from conscious reevaluation. To find a resolution to its current discord,
Methodism may not survive in its current form. When examining the Methodist
struggle with the issue of same sex marriage in relation to Smith s concepts of
personal faith and cumulative tradition, one can better understand what the future
may hold for the Methodist Church.
At a United Methodist trial held in Pennsylvania on November 19th of this year, the

A Clockwork Orange Moral
In Anthony Burgess s novel A Clockwork Orange, Alex the narrator grows up in a
near future English city that develops his inner moral disconnect and sociopathic
tendencies. These characteristics mirror and grow from the corruption of his city,
originating with its lack of resources and culminating in the great cultural divide
between teenagers and adults, emphasizing the importance of perspective in decision
making and acting. In Alexs city, adequate education is near nonexistent and crime
fills the streets, fostering dangerous attitudes and causing him to lack outside
perspective on his situation. Near the beginning of the novel, Alex ditches school, and
while roaming the town, meets two ten year old girls. This occurrence is not

Essay Journey. What Is A Journey Essay Sitedoct.org

  • 1. Essay Journey Embarking on the journey of writing an essay about the concept of an "Essay Journey" proved to be a more intricate task than initially anticipated. The seemingly simple topic unveiled layers of complexity as I delved into the intricacies of crafting a narrative around the very process of crafting a narrative. The challenge lay not only in avoiding redundancy and clichГ©s but also in capturing the essence of the essay-writing experience itself. It required a delicate balance between introspection and objectivity, as I navigated through the labyrinth of my own thoughts and experiences in the realm of essay composition. The task demanded a nuanced approach, threading the fine line between personal reflection and broader insights into the nature of the creative process. The conundrum deepened as I attempted to convey the evolution of ideas, the twists and turns in the thought process, and the moments of revelation that characterize the journey of constructing an essay. Expressing the ebb and flow of inspiration, the challenges encountered, and the triumphs achieved in a coherent and engaging manner posed a formidable writing challenge. Moreover, the very act of dissecting the essay-writing journey necessitated a level of self- awareness that added an extra layer of intricacy to the task. It called for a meta-analysis of the writing process itself, creating a narrative about the act of creating narratives. In conclusion, the journey of crafting an essay on the theme of an "Essay Journey" was a thought-provoking expedition into the depths of self-expression and the art of storytelling. It underscored the complexity inherent in articulating the very process of articulation. As the ink dried on the final page, I realized that the challenge was not just in composing words but in encapsulating the essence of an intellectual odyssey. • 2. Analysis Of Tom Hanks s Speech In Philadelphia On March 21, 1994, Tom Hanks received the award for best actor at the 66th Academy Awards for his performance as Andrew Beckett in Jonathan Demme s 1993 film Philadelphia. The acceptance speech that Hanks s delivered was an emotionally charged classic that touched upon various aspects of his life, such as the importance of the role that he played in the film, the impact of two individuals from his past, and his overall faith in god. At this moment of time, Hanks used his acceptance speech at The Oscars as a social platform in an effort to increase awareness and compassion towards the victims of the AIDS/HIVepidemic in the United States. Overall, Tom Hanks s Academy Award acceptance speech for his role in Philadelphiais a powerful and effective speech because of how he uses imagery and firsthand experience from his past to effectively create an emotional appeal to his audience about the then AIDS/HIV epidemic that was taking the country by storm. In the film Philadelphia, Tom Hanks plays the role of Andrew Beckett who is a homosexual man who was wrongly fired from his job because of his HIV positive diagnosis. During the duration of the film, Beckett s health starts to fade as his condition gradually worsens from HIV to full blown AIDS in a heartbreaking process that gives the audience a visual of just how punishing this disease is (Demme, 1993). Hanks himself mentions the overall importance of this role in his speech during which he states And there lies my dilemma here

Type 1 Insulin Research Paper Packaging and Formulation Insulin is considered to be a heat sensitive product which needs to be maintained at certain optimum temperatures for it to work effectively. The transportation from the laboratory to the consumer has to be taken into consideration as all temperature variation can cause the efficiency of the treatment to decrease. (Lens, 2010) In fact, there have been studies conducted which prove that if insulin is placed outside for more than 2 mins of time it will cross its critical +8В°C threshold level. It should also be noted that Insulin should also not drop below the +2В°C as it can be dangerous to the chemical composition of the drug. This makes it necessary to transport the drug with the same temperature conditions at each step. Packaging Today, in the market... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Epilepsy Research Papers Jayson Karuna Epilepsy Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that causes individuals to have frequent seizures. However, originally epilepsy was not considered a biological or medical issue. Rather, It was said to be some sort of curse summoned by spirits or wrathful deities. Famed ancient Greek physician, Hippocrates, was the first individual to document epilepsy correctly as a biological disorder in 400 B.C. Although Hippocrates incorrectly believed epilepsy to be a condition caused by the imbalance of certain bodily fluids, he did correctly conclude that the condition was natural and neurological. Centuries later English neurologist, John Hughlings Jackson, accurately determined that seizures resulted from excessive electrical discharges ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Martin Bomber Plant Essay Everyone in the United States, and the world, knows about the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II. There are countless pictures, bombs, and destruction caused, but where did it all start? It started in the Martin Bomber Plant right here in Nebraska. The Martin Bomber Plant was commissioned well before Pearl Harbor in September 1940. All over the country, plants were being opened to make bombs, tanks, guns, and more. Even though the Unites States wasn t fighting in the war yet, we sold these items to other countries. The plants were also built in preparation for full on war. Many people in the government wanted to be well prepared for when the United States would inevitably enter the war. The U.S. War Department decided to create two new assembly plants on the interior of the country. The plants needed to be at least 200 miles from the coast. This was to ensure that the plants would be spared if an assault would have occurred on the coasts. One of the plants was at Fort Cook that was owned by the War Department. It was later called the Offutt Air Force Base. This plant supplied the war effort with many B 26 bombers, like the Martin Bomber Plant in Baltimore. Now, the government need the second plant. Rumors quickly spread that more Nebraska communities were being considered for a plant. These rumors turned out to be true. Vital plants were built near Omaha, Mead, Hastings, Grand Island, and Sidney. These plants created numerous jobs
  • 6. Essay about Advice to Youth and Mark Twain Mark Twain, known at the time to be a humorous author, wrote a speech on Advice to Youth. Twain gives several pieces of advice all with a twist of honesty attached. The way this speech was written suggest that it would have been delivered at a graduation ceremony. Perhaps Twain was asked to speak at a college graduation ceremony and was going to deliver this speech. It is the perfect speech to relate to youth. Twain s advice begins with always obey your parents... (Norton, 550) which is sound advice. The rule of obeying one s parents comes right from the Ten Commandments. Obeying one s parents is a rule that is as old as time, engraved in everyday teachings. Twain twists this idea and adds ... when they are present (Norton, 550) saying... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Twain is relating to the target audience. Twain is getting into the shoes of a youth in their era. This is one way to get the youth to listen and respond in a positive way. Twain writes every sentence positively then ends sarcastically. If a person offends you ... hit him with a brick (Norton, 550). This line is hilarious. Twain is telling young adults it is ok to act out aggressively, just wait for the appropriate time and place. Also, if it is the wrong person you act out against just apologize and everything will be fine. The lark is commonly used as a symbol in a variety of ways. Twain uses the lark in the part about going to bed early and waking up early. Waking up with the sun is the normal time to rise for the year this was written. Depending on the time of year the sun usually rises at about seven in the morning. Twain says to wake up with a lark is respectable but you can easily train him to get up at half past nine (Norton, 550). Meaning on average this would give you an extra two and a half hours to sleep in. This is evidence showing that Twain is writing to teens or college students because they are usually the ones who like to sleep the day away. Mark Twains advice on lying is do not get caught. Twain says once caught, you can never again be, in the eyes of the good and the pure (Norton, 550) Meaning once a person lies, that person is a liar. Branded like cattle, forever having a mark of the liar. It literally scars a
  • 7. The Role Of Technology In Education Technologies role We re living in a country that is called a technologically civilized society. The use of the internet has not changed the way that we think. However, it is making unique contributions in classrooms by providing us with immediate and convenient access to an extraordinary amount of ideas and information. In the world that we currently live in, technology is a very vital factor . Today most people are more familiar with the technically advanced gadget that they carry in their backpack, or their pocket. Every other day a new software device is being brought into the marketplace, which helps improve our knowledge in and out of school. One of the advantages that the internet provides students with, is being able to access all sorts of books that are available at any time. Despite the fact that technology plays a positive role in making our school lives much easier, it also has a negative effect. The internet seems to be impairing our ability to focus and to think deeply on any subject. The more technology continues to grow, the more improvement it provides in an education level for certain students; while for others it has a very different effect in the way we read and take in information. In this paper, I will be discussing both pros and cons of the way technology is used in and out of our schools today. To begin with, the continuing advances in the technological world, students are

When China s economy is doing well, the majority of the world s economies tend to do the same. When China s economy is slow, the rest of the world usually follows. At the start of the 2016 year, China s stock market declined by 7% (Best). Stock markets in Europe, Asia, and the United States quickly followed the trend. It is clear that when Chinaslows down, its trade partners follow. China affects a lot of countries. Three examples include oil, commodities, and trade (Best). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the war, Mao Zedong took over China in 1949 (BBC History Mao Zedong). Shortly after, China s influence in the global economy declined. China s involvement in the global economy was only 5% during his rule (Holodny). This happened as a result from Mao Zedong implementing The Great Leap Forward in 1958, and the Cultural Revolution in 1966. The Great Leap Forward was an attempt to modernize China s economy so that it could match up with the economy of the United States by around 1988 (Trueman). He saw potential growth in agriculture and industry. His reasoning for choosing agriculture and industry was that one could not blossom without the other. Agriculture needed industry because they needed the best machinery and equipment to succeed, while the industry would prosper if it was fed well by agriculture. To do this, the government took complete control. Schools, tools, retirement homes, entertainment, and healthcare were all provided by the government (Trueman). This would ensure all the people could work. After the first year, everything seemed great according to plan. Things would turn around at the start of 1959. In 1959, the government wanted its people to work faster to produce more products. This caused workers to work long hours every day. Due to the quick production, the goods lacked quality. The steel that was produced was too weak for construction, which was its intended purpose. Buildings that were erected would not last
  • 9. Comparing Two Movie Comparison Research Paper Comparing and Contrasting Two Love Stories There are many differences between Pride and Prejudice and Spirited Away. However, despite that both are made for two types of age groups and each have a different plot, there are also many things that these two movies have in common. They are love stories, but not necessarily romantic. In this essay I will compare and contrast two films by pointing towards their different settings and lifestyles, explaining the similarities I found while watching them, and Pride and Prejudice is a classic novelby Jane Austen. It is based around a romantic setting. Unlike Spirited Away, it is completely focused around a girl and her loveinterests. It also has an old, comfortable feeling to the movie s atmosphere.
  • 10. On Being Anointed and the Great Awakening Essay Why do we need another Great awakening? When I think of an Awakening, even after our class, my mind immediately goes to images of eighteenth century revivalists like Jonathan Edwards, George Whitfield, Jereena Lee and a large constellation of other preaching giants of yesteryear. These men and women created a legacy of spiritual fervor which has earned them a place in the annals of American religious history. Their effectiveness as preachers of the word and proclaimers of truth permeated a nation s consciousness and snatched the nation from spiritual decline. Several questions arise as I think of the Awakenings of years past. My first question is whether our nation is as spiritually receptive of an Awakening as it was two hundred years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Perhaps that is what we need a contemporary awakening to do. In the face of drone strikes, unending poverty, mass incarceration, and myriad social issues with spiritual ramifications, an Awakening is what is needed to turn this nation, its culture and its people around. I think there needs to be a turning to a moral center; be it God (thinking out of my Christian context), or to a common place of civility and mutual understanding. The church has a unique role to play in bringing renewal and restoration to the brokenness of the world. I think that the mission the broken, crucified, despised Jesus was and is healing brokenness. Jesus Christ was anointed to do the work of restoring a sick and sad nation. I, therefore, hold as my point of departure that in Jesus Christ we are anointed to preach in a way that will awaken the nation to wholeness and to the reality of God s reign on Earth. In light of my theme, this paper hopes to accomplish three goals. My first goal is to reflect on the calling forth of bold, brave, and anointed preachers in James A. Forbes book The Holy Spirit and Preaching. Second, I will explore the preaching ministry of Howard Washington Thurman who, I think, exemplifies what it means to operate in the anointing of Christ. Finally, I will take these considerations about the Holy Spirit and Howard Thurman, and reflect on my own preaching ministry, which nears eleven

There are many pros and cons to children spending an abundant amount of time on technology. There are many different opinions about how technology affects children and families. Empowered by the sense that blacks had played a crucial role in the conflict, the descendants of freedmen returned home to fight for their own rights only to find persecution; this dire situation called for immediate, decisive action. During the interwar years, African Americans in the southwest Georgia Black Belt fought for community empowerment and, through the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA), and numerous other political and labor oriented groups, established a significant organizing tradition, thereby laying the ... Indeed, almost every historian who has dealt with the southwest Georgia movement has made a similar assertion. However, such a notion could not be farther from the truth. The organizing tradition amongst oppressed African Americans involved a sustained working class struggle over several decades that was both tenacious and politically heterogeneous. In order to more fully understand the agendas and motivations for this political activity in southwest Georgia, one must first have some clue as to the nature and scope of their economic options. In 1935, noted statistician Charles E. Hall, under the supervision of Z.R. Pettet of the United States Bureau of the Census, published an exhaustive study of the social and economic characteristics of African America entitled Negroes in the United States. Based upon information gathered by the Census Bureau, the work provides invaluable insight into the lives and movements of black Americans in the early part of the century. One crucial inference that may be drawn from Hall s compilation is the overwhelmingly rural composition of the African American population in southwest Georgia counties as late as 1930. Many families lived off of the income that their kids brought home every day. Concern from the public about the fact that these kids had to work so much and so hard began to rise. Supporters for childlabor laws proved that children who worked such long days, such as 26 27 hours a week, were always rundown, depressed, and deprived of real education, fresh air, and time to play with friends and act like children. They also were concerned about the physical risks that these kids could have. Kids in factories had high accident rates. Some states passed laws limiting child labor, but these states had restrictions that held an economic drawback. The case was brought to the Supreme Court by Roland H. Dagenhart. Roland Dagenhart was from North Carolina and he worked at a cloth mill with his two sons. He sued... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In reply to the concerns from the people, Congress passed the Keating Owen Act of 1916. This law banned the delivery across borders of the states of goods made in factories which hired kids under the age of 14, or kids between 14 and 16 who worked overnight shifts, more than eight hours a day, or more than six days/week. This is what was considered to be child labor. In this case there was majority and minority opinions of the Supreme Court. The majority was William Day. The minority had to have been Oliver W. Holmes. The rationale for the justices opinions on the case is 1st, he claimed that the law was not a rule of trade. After that, he thought the Tenth Amendment gave up the power to make sure that there are rules in place for child labor so that the states could decide on their own what they wanted. In the end, his freedom and property was secured by the Fifth Amendment and this included the right to let his sons

What caused Ranbir concern was the lack of consensus among the various stakeholder groups in the Indian Railways about the idea of tracking the rolling stock (freight railcars, passenger coaches, locomotives). The need to automate such tracking especially for freight railcars6 had been felt for almost two decades. Initially, the available technology was too expensive, and experimental in nature; however, lately, technologies had stabilized, and costs had come down. Various options had become available to automate the tracking, ranging from the use of RFID tags to the use of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) based technology. Other available alternatives were the use of optical tracking systems using OCR, or the use of hand held devices to manually record wagon identification data. Ranbir scrutinized the thick file of papers in front of him. It described the pilot project for automatic wagon tracking, which had recently commenced. The pilot project envisaged the use of RFID technology, already proven in North American railroads and other Railways, to tag 500 coal hopper wagons (Figure 1). Three trackside tag readers would be placed along one of the routes used for

As time progressed, the clan became an underground movement dedicating itself to violent acts of terror. The clan s primary goal was to repress Republican leaders and voters, both white and black, in attempts to restore white supremacy. The Federal Government attempted to step in and intervene but consequently failed in their attempts. The ratification of the Fifteenth Amendment was colossal, prohibiting states the power to deny citizens the right to vote because of race, color, or servitude. This Amendment was a direct result of southern states failing to adhere by the rules of the Fourteenth Amendment. Overall, the Federal Government stepped up and played their part with the ratification of the Fifteenth Amendment. However, it s one thing to actually ratify something, and it s a completely different ball game when attempting to enforce it. Republicans had great success in passing their legislative agenda for Reconstruction in Washington, D.C., but the enforcement of those laws in the south remained very much in question. This is a perfect example of the Federal Government intervening but not progressing on the situation at hand. Another great example of this is, The twenty thousand federal troops stationed in the South in 1867 were not nearly enough to pacify regions such as Carolina up country, where Klan was at its greatest strength. At the most, a tragedy is used describe horrific event that involves severe misfortune; however, when comes to the theatre term, the definition of tragedy is much more specific then the modern use of the word. In essence, a tragedy depending on the time and place was used to tell the tale of tragic hero and the flaw that contributed his eventual downfall. Unfortunately, this too simple of an answer. Shakespearean and Aristotelian tragedy are the most widely excepted forms of theatric tragedy, yet their execution and their method of exposition have major difference which greatly effects the interpretation of the story. Over the span of several class meetings, this particular trait (the filmmaker s presence a la Varda and McElwee) and its implications became the epicenter of most discussions, as well as the assumed baseline by which other directors would be critiqued. Many techniques have been developed to help elucidate the injury mechanism associated with diffuse axonal injury over years. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is one such technique where the mesoscale structural information is studied to investigate the diffuse axonal injury. Finite element models have also provided a means to investigate diffuse axonal injury. Romeo meets Giulietta at a Carnival ball and forgets about an unrequited love he has for another girl. They see each other at church and Romeo visits her chamber window. Romeo mistakes Giulietta s sleeping for her death and kills himself. When Giulietta wakes she drew in her breath and held it long, and then, uttering a great cry, fell dead on the corpse of Romeo. The FSK method of modulating/demodulation is typically limited to low frequency signal rates, such as 300 bits per second 1.2.2: FSK DEMODULATION: FSK demodulation is the process of recovering the original signal by detecting the frequencies involved in the original modulation. Typically, this is done with a bandpass amplifier tuned to one of the two frequencies, followed by a amplitude demodulator. The output is the original signal. It is also possible to use a digital signal processing technique to perform a fourier transform on the input signal, but that can be complex and costly. Across America there are always charities, religious groups, and civic clubs who are givingto the poor from food giveaways, clothing giveaways, free tutoring, free health screenings, whatever else there is constantly something for the poor to benefit from. The problem is that people want to help, but if they are constantly giving the needy these items, services, or money, then are the poor becoming dependent? When will one person stop... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime ( Chinese par. 1). This ancient proverb has some truth in it. Right now in America, the poor are not being taught how to fish instead they are relying on charities to give away food and clothing for them to survive. Through work readiness programs and a reform in food and clothing distribution, charities can cut the parasite of the dependent poor and prepare them to go out and earn what they need. Job preparation programs are an excellent way to minister the poor and needy by preparing them for the future and empowering them to be able to take care of themselves. In Seat Pleasant, Maryland, the Training Source offers job training program, self improvement workshops, and skill training. The Training Source is teaching those who do not have jobs, job skills which will equip them and help them to find a job (Singletary par. 9). Once the poor and needy have a job, they will not need to rely on donations of food and clothing to survive. In my hometown, Anniston, Alabama, the Christians Women s Job Corp and the Christian Men s Job Corp pairs men and women up with mentors who will help the needy with obtaining their GED, interviewing skills, resume building, how to dress for success, and applying for jobs. The job corps also provide, upon completion of classes, interview appropriate clothing and transportation to job interviews. Both of these programs are helping
  • 37. Blue Collar Brilliance By Mike Rose The articles Blue Collar Brilliance written by Mike Rose and Are Too Many People Going to College? by Charles Murray discuss the importance of education and its outcomes. Both authors talk about people s careers on the aspect of whether a college degree made them succeed in life or it is just an expensive waste of time. Also, each article has its own opinion over the fact that some people with college education aren t able to find jobs while others with no college background are able to succeed. Rose and Murray, both agreed on the idea that college isn t for all just simply because of its cost, and how each person s intelligence does not depend on their acceptance to a college; further, both authors also acknowledge the importance of blue collar workers and their prosperity. First, Mike Rose starts making references on how some people can t afford a college education and through this, they believe that they don t need to get a degree in order to work or learn something different; those who can t go to college, look for any possible way of getting an education that could help them discover a different path for their life. Different levels of intelligence and particular talents set people apart and make them unique in their own way which help them to carry on with their life. On the other hand, Charles Murray addresses that now, high school students have a new approach about getting a college education. They now believe that getting a B.A. would guarantee them a job and
  • 38. Reflection Paper On Poverty Walk Today I began the first day of my Poverty walk. Prior to start of this experience, I took note of the simple foods I could eat that would remain within the spectrum of $3.25. I concluded that Ramen noodles, applesauce, and black beans would build up the majority of what I will be eating this week. If money is available, I will include a tiny serving of meat to my meal. I am fortunate enough to live in close proximity to my classes and was able to skip the bus fare by walking. For lunch, I ate a generous serving of Ramennoodles that I have bought for $0.29 per one pack. Due to the lack of additional nutrients, my slight hunger never subdued. If one limited meal was enough to cause discomfort in my stomach, how am I to continue a whole week of this process? It is day one of my Poverty walk, and I already have gained a respect for individuals experiencing this calamity on a day to day basis. Come dinnertime, a friend of mine was celebrating her birthday at the Reber Thomas Dining Hall on campus. Despite the fact that I would be unable to afford a full meal, I have decided to participate in celebrating my friend s special day. I gathered a plate of black beans, which I have calculated would cost an average of $0.48 per four ounces. Given that I had additional money left from my lack of breakfast and limited lunch portion, I splurged slightly and had a small serving of ground beef to my plate. This serving would cost about $1.16 for the four ounces I ate. When I sat back
  • 39. Deep Sea Research Paper The deep sea is home to many fascinating creatures that have yet to be explored by scientists for their features. These creatures can be seen as special for the way they are able to survive in the extreme sea environments. Three species, in particular, have interested scientists for their own unique ways of adapting: the giant squid, the zombie worm, and the yeti crab. Their ways of adaptations allow them to survive in the intense deep sea environments. First and foremost, every species has different ways of adapting to the world around them. These simple adaptations allow them to survive their extreme living environments. One creature has many features that contribute to its living space. The giant squid is a worldwide squid that adapts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of these creatures are the yeti crabs. These crabs live near the thermal vents at the bottom of the deep sea. Their white color could be due to their obscured environment. There is a reason these crabs are called yeti crabs . Yetis have hair, so this would represent the crab s distinct features. As said in the article, these crabs are Dubbed yeti crabs for their hairy chests and legs, these creatures are new to science (p.3). This has grown on the crabs over many years to adapt to the thermal vents around its living space. The yeti crab lives in a mixed climate where it is very hot and very cold at the same time. When these two temperatures collide, chemical reactions produce an array of mineral compounds, which many organisms consider food (p.2). Animals such as the yeti crab depend on chemistry rather than photosynthesis. Since these crabs are new to science and new to the studies of scientists, they aren t sure but conjecture that mineral eating bacteria might grow on the crabs hairs and that the crabs might scoop up the bacteria (p.3). This differs from the other crabs in the world. Maybe the more the yeti crabs live near the thermal vents, they will adapt even more and evolve

Equal Pay For Women And Equal Equality The divide between genders has been fought over for many years, dating back to the 1800 s where families started to grow and an income increase was needed, as a result women began working alongside men in factories, but for much smaller pay. As the world started to modernize, social norms related to women started to change. Women were granted the right to vote through the nineteenth amendment and were provided access to health care and birth control. Women should be seen as equal to men and given equal opportunities. Equal pay for women and even minority groups should be expected, and should not be an issue today. In 1963, women who worked full time, year round made 59 cents on average for every dollar earned by men. In 2010, women earned 77 cents to men s dollar. That means that the wage gap has narrowed by less than half a cent per year (National Committee on Pay Equity). The Equal Pay Act attempted to make equal pay and get rid of discrimination in the workplace has continued to slowly progress, but it is still extremely large today. As of 2017, women earn about eighty cents for every dollar earned by men. Furthermore, the amount of time the Equal Pay Act is taking is ridiculous and should immediately change women s income in the workplace. Equality for pay doesn t look like it will be happening very soon, Based on its research, the Institute for Women s Policy Research estimated in 2015 that women won t

The third goal I have is to lead an authentic life with a partner who cares about me and allows me to be my true self. I believe that in society people work too hard to please others and fit into the mold of what is viewed as normal. I know that this lifestyle does not allow for authenticity or creativity because I have adhered to it for several years and am now starting to face the consequences of not being my true self around my family and friends. • 44. Analyzing Smith´s The Meaning and End of Religion In his seminal work, The Meaning and End of Religion, Wilfred Cantwell Smith proposes using two separate concepts for religious studies. Believing that the conventional approach of studying a religion or the religions is inadequate and misleading, Smith states, If religion or a religion is anything at all, it is not only in fact but in theory something in which actual living, historical persons are involved (1838). Therefore, he offers his theories of examining faithand cumulative tradition as more valuable for any intellectual analysis of the religious experience of mankind. With these two separate, albeit, related concepts, Smith theorizes that religious studies can better grasp both the mundane and the transcendent aspects... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A severe rift has recently developed in the United Methodist Church concerning this very topic. While the church s laws, found in the Methodist Book of Discipline, officially welcome and value homosexuals as members of the church, the laws also declare that the practice of homosexuality violates the church s teaching, and they thereby prohibit practicing homosexuals from serving in the clergy and bar clergy from officiating at same sex unions (Wangsness). Some members of the church have called for changes to the Book of Discipline, believing that the passages on homosexuality are contradictory. A number of clergy have even come to their own interpretation of church law, or openly violated it, when acting in accordance with their personal faith by officiating at same sex unions (Otterman). This split in the United Methodist Church over gay marriage provides an excellent example of Smith s reference to a Christian Church whose theology is inadequate and which could benefit from conscious reevaluation. To find a resolution to its current discord, Methodism may not survive in its current form. When examining the Methodist struggle with the issue of same sex marriage in relation to Smith s concepts of personal faith and cumulative tradition, one can better understand what the future may hold for the Methodist Church. At a United Methodist trial held in Pennsylvania on November 19th of this year, the Rev.

A Clockwork Orange Moral In Anthony Burgess s novel A Clockwork Orange, Alex the narrator grows up in a near future English city that develops his inner moral disconnect and sociopathic tendencies. These characteristics mirror and grow from the corruption of his city, originating with its lack of resources and culminating in the great cultural divide between teenagers and adults, emphasizing the importance of perspective in decision making and acting. In Alexs city, adequate education is near nonexistent and crime fills the streets, fostering dangerous attitudes and causing him to lack outside perspective on his situation. Near the beginning of the novel, Alex ditches school, and while roaming the town, meets two ten year old girls. This occurrence is not
