Another big issue the protest music dealt to was the civil rights movement in America. Protest music
was different because always had a message and was not confined to the sound and style of folk
rock. This music was a reaction to social injustice, cultural changes. And, in many cases, it brought

1. Introduction.
1.1 What Is Within This Report?
The purpose of this report is to explore the question Who Am I? Through this research study will
contain an overview of why interior design has been my intended choice to study and how it could
be a possible future career path. Also included will be a summary of both my skills and how these
will help within the future career alternative, and the skills needed to achieve this. Along with this
will be a review of the design discipline currently and what is intended for interior design in the next
five years, this will also cover designer's philosophy and a comparison between my own and theirs.
Furthermore, these findings will then lead me to conclude on what's yet to come for the future of

To consider something to be forgotten, good or bad, history loses its definition and becomes
distorted with fiction. If you can't acknowledge history's mistakes you can't develop and grow as a
society. To forget blackface minstrelsy would mean to forget such a vast part of early American

Nigerian culture is shaped by her multiple ethnic groups. As the most populous African country with
over 170 million people and an emerging economy, the country boasts of over 521 languages and
more than 250 dialects and ethnic groups. The Hausa and Fulani are predominantly in the North,
Igbo are in the south east and the Yorubas are in the south western part of Nigeria. These four ethnic
groups are believed to be the four predominant ethnic groups while the other ethnic groups such as
Ibibio, Ijaw, Efik among others are referred to as the ethnic minorities. The Nigerian government
legislated English as her official language, the language that binds together.

The essay examines evolution of popular music, experiences and how the public understood it
between 1918 and 1939. During this period, a national culture dance was developed in England.
Evolution process was marked with transformation of popular dance forms, affordable and easily

A reoccurring observation made in literature focused on music in contemporary Iran, is the
challenge music has faced since the Islamic revolution of 1979 and the subsequent establishment of
a theocratic state . Ghazizadeh (2011) argued that music is one of the most controversial issues in
Islam and so after the victory of the Islamic revolution, which promised a return back to traditional
Islamic norms and values, the position of music significantly changed in Iran. Similarly, this notion
of music being a challenging issue is reflected in the writings of Maghazei (2014). Maghazei
highlighted that since the revolution of 1979, some religious authorities have been categorically
against music and others have been more progressive, maintaining that music is not prohibited in the
Qur'an . Youssefzadeh (2000) also stressed that, not only has music been at the centre of a fierce
religious debate, but also at the heart of a political one. He highlights that the position of music in
Iran is not solely determined based on religious grounds, but also by political undercurrents. Music
is viewed by the people of Iran and the ruling elite, as a potential initiator of social change.
Therefore, any state policy towards music would reflect the paranoia and chief concerns of the

African Music Traditionally, music has played a very important role in Africa's culture and history.
If you observe any part of the culture you can see that music is essential in representing their
heritage. Unlike most cultures today, ancient African cultures brought music into their lives every
day. Music also helps with African story–telling, dance, and even religious practices. Music is
especially important for African dance because in some cultures there is not even a spoken language,
they tell their stories through songs and dance. When discussing the impact of music in Africa it is
important to also mention the power of dance as well.
In the African culture, music and dance mean so much more than just something done for a good
time, it has a much greater purpose. In the African culture, a dance is usually done by a group and
usually for a specific purpose. That being said, having a group of people means that these tribes run
with utilitarianism. "The idea of Utilitarianism suggests that the value of a thing depends on its use,
and not its beauty. In many ways, African music is a utilitarian function used in vital aspects of life
