Arctic Vs. Antarctica
Have you ever misapprehended the Arctic and Antarctica for the same thing? If you have, the
mistake is reasonable. They both have extremely cold temperatures and are just on opposite sides
of the globe. They have snow all year, and fantasies are made about igloos and eskimos. Although
there are similarities, there are two sides to the same coin.
Antarctica is a continent that is used for more of scientific study and holds 90% of earth s ice.
Antarctica is one big continent, meaning there are no other parts to Antarctica. Antarctica has even
reached the nice and breezy 128.6 degrees F. Henceforth, there are not many animals in Antarctica.
Both continents have extremely cold temperatures, and have two seasons instead of four. They

Energy Commission Information ( Eia ) Essay
The United States is the largest economy in the world. According to the World Bank its GDP is
approximately 16.8 trillion as of 2013. As the U.S. grows in population, so does the demand of
goods. Is the country heading towards greater prosperity or towards a dismal hole? Is the United
States practicing weak or strong sustainabilityand should we be worried about running out of non
renewable resources?
We all know what non renewable resources are economic values that cannot be replaced within a
reasonable time frame. According to the U.S. energy commission Information (EIA) Administration
the United States consumed approximately 6.89 billion barrels of petroleum in 2013. Now, 6.89
billion barrels of petroleum may seem like an overwhelming amount of oil, but according to the
EIA we should have enough oil to meet demands for the next 25 years. The EIA predicts that the
demand for non renewable resources will be met for at least 25 more years, but what happens after
that? Some people would argue that the U.S. has been sustained up to this point in time however
others would say the contrary. So, first I would like to define my interpretation sustainability as,
being able to meet today s demand, without compromising tomorrows . Under this definition I
believe that the U.S. has been sustainable up to this point in time. Although non renewable
resources have been utilized, new discoveries are still happening.
The track record of finding non renewable resources has fared

Iago s Jealousy In Othello, The Moor Of Venice
Othello is one of William Shakespeare s most famous dramas. Othello is called a tragedy and has
been a popular play throughout the history of literature and drama. The non shortened original
title of this play is The Tragedy of Othello, The Moor of Venice. There are several key points of
analysis that can be found when reading Othello. These include specific themes, irony, symbolism,
and tone. Each of these devices add to the overall meanings in a specific way, Shakespeare placed
them within the play for the reader to understand. The prominent theme in Othello is jealousy. It s a
theme that is present throughout the entire play. Iago, who the main villain of the play, is jealous of
Othello and the power he has. Iago s jealousy is what leads to the conflict later into the play. In the
beginning, Iago expresses his hate for Othello, One Micheal Cassio, a Florentine....As masterly as
he: mere prattle, without practice in all his soldiership.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Shakespeare s time, this was not widely viewed as acceptable and this is why it causes conflict
in the play. Even though Othello has a high position of power and is highly respected, his race is
always brought into the picture and never seems to be forgotten. The tone of Othello is mostly
bitter. This is mainly due to Iago s conflict throughout. He influences the other characters, especially
Othello, and causes them to become bitter as well. Each character is emotionally affected by Iago
and his ability to get inside each individual mind. For example, Othello is overcome with emotions
from his heartbreak when finding out that Desdemona has been seeing Cassio that he kills
Desdemona and later himself. He also stabs Iago when he finds out all of the lies that he has told.
The irrational emotions and actions that follow make the ton depressing as

Clarisse Vs Nancy Bobofit Research Paper
Clarisse vs. Nancy What is a girl with a big ego? CLARRISE!!!! In paragraph #6, they introduce
a girl that is very full of herself. That made me think about Nancy Bobofit. Both of them have
stuff in common and not. Let s talk about it. Clarisse is a tough girl that has super big muscles
and is built like a body builder. She likes when people are afraid of her and doesn t care if she
gets caught by anybody older person supervising (watch over) her. Also, she bothers or bully
people by physically hurting them. On the other hand, Nancy is a girl that is not so big in size but
likes to taunt or annoy people, especially people that are not so big in size and scrawny. Also, she

Financial Statements And The Financial Statement
Financial statements have several key components and specific criteria into them to relay the
detailed information for auditors and management. A deeper look into financial statements and the
many concepts surrounding them are needed to explain in more detail. It s also important to
recognize the Auditor s opinion letter, balance sheet, operating statement, statement of changes in
net assets, and statement of cash flows and footnotes of their involvement in the process. Relevant
accounting articles are a useful supplement to financial statements and how they enhance concepts
in the financial statement. The meaningful uses of financial statements for health care

Next, the receivables would decrease and give the balance left. Lack of copayments and a number
of reasons of patients not paying their bills or copays not collected. The final result shows a bad
debt balance of the percentage of uncollected copays and the amount of copays collected giving the
accounts receivable, net an overall balance.
Inventory is important to consider for the balance sheet as it s listed after receivables since its
less liquid than receivables. This is how patient care services are provided from inventory. The
process starts when the services have been provided, notification of a bill sent to patient, then
accounts receivables grow. As a result, inventory takes longer to convert to cash than receivables
because it hasn t been used to provide services. Next, cash is the most universal way to pay for
items. Also, cash includes amounts on deposit in checking and savings accounts and cash on hand.
Marketable securities are listed to be probably liquidated in the near future. A beneficial factor of
marketable securities is they can be converted into cash in only a few days. In addition, marketable
securities that the organization intends to hold as long term investments shouldn t be listed with
current assets, but instead under a long term investment category after fixed assets, (Finkler, S.A.,
Ward, D.M. Calabrese, I.D., 2013).

Global Strategy Of Hong Kong And Shanghai Bank Essay
In Depth Integrative Case 4.1: HSBC in China
1.How has HSBC adapted its global strategy to operate in China, both before and after China s
WTO accession?
China s financial industry was just another piece of the centrally planned or command economy of
China before any World Trade Organization (WTO) accession agreements were put in place.
Regulated lending practices where govern for the banks to hewed to and indeed produced a few of
China s notable thriving businesses, at the same time sustained hundreds of additional incompetent
and profitless state owned operations.
This manner transmitted state commercial banks with an extensive mass of debt that happened to
be essentially unrecoverable and swarms of non performing credits. In the year 1865, Hong Kong
and Shanghai Bank (HSBC) was established to bankroll the expanding trade between China,
Europe, and India. HSBC quickly extended their reach by opening offices worldwide with a
sustained sharp center in China as well as particular Asia Pacific territories. As the decade of 1880
approached the calendar, the group provided maintenance of British administration accounts in the
countries, China, Japan, Penang, and Singapore. HSBC also secured state funds in Hong Kong and
distributed banknotes.
Following the two World Wars, HSBC aimed to a climactic extension within takeovers and mergers
to diversify the company. In 1993, the bank relocated their headquarters from Hong Kong to
London while they proceeded with their global

they in my own opinion have out lived there use. these pagers where used during the early 90s
for the reason that they are more reliable, less expensive and more portable than a cellphone. but
now cellphones are cheaper and come in sizes that are almost as small as a pager. so these pagers

Airlift Deployment Analysis
A military deployment system called ADANS, which stands for Airlift Deployment Analysis
System, was introduced in 1990. It refers to a collection of logistic and spatial technologies that
helped efficiently transport troops and equipment to whatever spot. ADANS is used today to
schedule peacetime, exercise, and contingency missions, plus relief and humanitarian operations.
1990 1991 saw use of GIS technologies in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. It was the
largest airlift of personnel and equipment from zone to zone ever consummated.
The Energy And Development Administration, which later became the Department Of Energy, used
GIS technologies to evaluate environmental impacts of various National Energy Plans. Later, they

It can also utilise a system of data layers; oceanographic and meteorological conditions. Air
operations need accurate readings on location; the distance from land to air. They need terrain
readings. The military uses GIS and GPS technologies to assess situations and make the best
tactical decision based on the accurate spatial data involved. Understanding terrain is crucial to
deployment of troops. Geospatial analysists make sure this gets done. The military uses GIS for
intelligence, production mapping, and military operations. In a land situation, an assembly
position can be created using GIS map. A roadblock can also be put in. Basically, what used to
be done on paper is now virtually limitless with GIS mapping technology. Military commanders
utilise spatial data to create plans for land operations. Based on observed activity, possible
enemy scenarios can be configured. Vehicle commander is a real time GPS application used on
the ground. The vehicle commander can see other partners driving around. It s got a 911
application, which allows the vehicle commander to put out a distress call, to alert the other
vehicles on the ground that they are in trouble. The vehicle commander can also do a spot
report; reporting any suspicious activity. And that data will be stored in the application and the
other vehicles and management will be alerted to the spot report in an instant. If suspicious guys
are seen in the area, the spot report will have the set of reported information in that area. The
spot report can also detail if they had any weapons on them, etc. The squad leader application is
android based. It s meant to be used by guys on the ground. The application can utilise a scan map,
topographic map, or satellite imagery. Once a red light (spot report) has been checked and
confirmed okay, that light can be updated to green on the map, so the event is

Similarities Between Heart Of Darkness And Apocalypse Now
Heart of Darkness and its modern film adaptation Apocalypse Now are two masterpieces of art,
by Joseph Conrad and Francis Ford Coppola respectively, seeking to show the truth of their
respective worlds, that explore themes of conflict and darkness. They explore the idea of going
native and venturing into the abyss of Nietzsche, who once wrote, in Beyond Good and Evil: He
who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. If you gaze long
enough into the abyss, the abyss will also gaze into you. These two texts have a lot of similarities,
namely Kurtz and the use of smoke. The differences between the two are noticeable, but they are
intentional, and often not as different as they first appear. These being mainly the locations:

both unfit and uncomfortable in civilized society, are changed by their adventure into hell, and their

Oligopoly Market Failure
In micro economics market failure is characterized by resource misallocation and subsequent Pareto
inefficiency. Just as the invisible hand falters, so is the case that the unregulated markets are
incapable of solving all economic problems. In laissez faire economy, market models mainly
monopolistic, perfect competition and oligopoly are expected to efficiently allocate resources for
the welfare benefit of the society. However individualistic and selfish private interests divert the
public benefits thereby prompting government intervention to correct the imperfection which may
lead to disastrous economic impact. Although corrective intervention policies by government may
not necessarily address the underlying imperfection induced by... Show more content on

Competition failure or monopoly may result from natural monopoly where it costs incurred in
production becomes lower when only one firm is involved in production than several firms
producing the same output. In a monopolist market under production, higher prices become
dominant contributing to market inefficiency. Winston cites cases of misuse of monopoly power
can lead to market failures and sometimes may lead to acute shortage of essential commodities
(130).
Coordination failures by private markets are perceived to contribute significantly in inefficiency.
Negative externalities like environmental pollution and positive externalities like focusing on public
benefits and ignoring the private benefits significantly contribute to market failures. Fundamental
questions have been raised to determine the appropriate time government intervention is required
and the magnitude of inefficiency to warrant supposedly intervention or to let the market correct
itself. Stiglitz, argued that inefficient government microeconomic policies to address the market
gap often tends to exacerbate the existing problem or yield unproductive results in the economy
(34).
Market failure Correction The principal of Pareto efficiency dictates that market failure is a product
of making other individuals worse than they were found. To

average individual income was $369 a week whereas in Kingscliff the average individual income

new franchise was the total population of people in the workforce. In Gatton the total
population of people in the work force was only 166 people whereas in Kingscliff the number of
people in the work force was 2460 people. After I went over the information the clear choice was
to invest in a franchise in Kingscliff as it is a growing town with a high number of people in the

one up in Gatton as the information shows that you get more customers where people have more

land in, and how many rebounds or times it would have to hit off a wall in order to go into a

which corner pocket the ball will land in is that if the height of the table is a multiple of 2 then it

Comedy originates from drama focusing on the humour of a story to entertain the audience. This

only directed the film but was also cinematographer. A recent example of where comedy has come

The Impact Of Technology On The Music Industry Essay
Technology has brought many advantageous opportunities to the music industry in the area of
production and distribution. Besides popular and valuable instruments such as the electric guitar
and the synthesizer, technology has brought us new production equipment such as high fidelity
microphones, re mastering equipment and CD ROMs that provide us with a crystal clear sound of
the recording. The development of these equipment has allowed the audience to experience a higher
quality of sound coming from both live concerts and recordings.
Easiness of transportation that came along with the technological developments in the sector, has
allowed the record labels to distribute music all around the world. During the 1950s turbojet
engines were cleared for civilian use, and with new civil jet engine cargo aircraft distribution of
almost any item became easier and faster than ever before. The evolution of the computer and the
Internet was also a great distribution advantage for the music industry and should not be
underestimated. New sound formats, such as the MP3, have made music distribution easier.
Companies could now provide selling licenses to companies that would allow users to download
certain songs from the Internet at a very high speed. The music industry also got many
opportunities for advertisements since they were now not limited to billboards, TV and radio.
Many companies can now promote their records by playing a preview for the user, on certain
websites.

Difference Between Liberalism And Anarchism
The multiple strands of both liberalism and anarchism prevent any continuous agreement between
the main ideas of the two ideologies. The fundamental belief that mankind comprises rational free
thinking individuals is common to both view points. However, the level to which the individual
can be trusted differs between the two. Anarchists place greater emphasis on the ability for
individuals to excel without the interference of an overarching body. Liberals argue that the state is
a needed device to ensure that the liberty of each individual is maintained and not limited by other
individuals. Liberals believe that individuals are rational and able to recognise their own self
interest, this being the main reason why liberals support high levels of individual freedom only
constrained to some extent by the state. Liberal individualism, especially within classical liberalism,
means that individuals are atomistic and that they will act rationally in support of their own self
interest rather than in the interests of society as a whole. Although the liberal adoption of laissez
faire economics promotes an atomistic view on individuals, it also argues that an atomistic
approach to economics will benefit the entirety of society. However, modern liberals have developed

In addition, both ideologies struggle to have a distinct set of agreed ideas and therefore a clean
comparison of the key ideas of each ideology is difficult. The various anarchist views of economic
systems fundamentally disagree with the economic principles of both classical and modern
liberalism. Although both have a positive outlook on human nature they disagree on the extent to
which humans require a structure within which to operate. Anarchism can therefore be seen as the
extreme liberal and extreme socialist forms of liberalism. Anarchism, in all forms, is the critique of
the centrist liberal

The Battle Of Luzon And The Pacific Theater
The Battle of Luzon, fought in the Pacific Theater in early 1945, is remembered as the World War
Two battle which had the highest net casualties. After Luzon, the largest island of the Philippines,
was captured by the Japanese in 1942, General MacArthur believed that it was extremely important
to recapture it. This took some time, but in 1944, a new campaign to recapture the Philippines was
created. The campaign started with attacks on Leyte and Mindoro, which prepared for Luzon. The
US, working together with the Commonwealth of the Philippines, successfully used multifaceted
assault tactics including the use of air force, naval, and ground troops to advance from the
Lingayen Gulf to the capital city of Manila. After the capture of Manila,... Show more content on

Although Allied troops encountered many Japanese kamikaze planes which destroyed some
warships, the Allied Air Force successfully supported their troops on the ground. While the Sixth
Army landed more troops on the beach, the I Corps protected them and advanced eastward, and
the XIV Corps moved south toward Manila. Because of central Luzon s geographical features
mostly open plains the XIV Corps was able to quickly advance toward Manila. Around this time,
another amphibious landing of the Eighth Army occurred to the south of Manila. From there, the
11th Airborne Division also advanced on Manila. While the XIV Corps was advancing southward,
the I Corps switched to defending their left flank. Meanwhile, General Yamashita had his strongest
forces deployed in north Luzon and around the Clark Air Base. However, the Japanese were
disorganized because of lack of communications and were not prepared for many US attacks. On
their southward journey, when the XIV Corps reached Clark Air Base, they battled for control until
it was captured on January 29, which also gave the US more supplies found within the base.
Following this, the XIV Corps pushed towards Manila and started the attack on January 31 from the
north and south of the city. On February 4th the 11th Airborne Division advanced into the city, but
met strong Japanese defences. They pushed through and finished capturing the defences on

A Need For Peaceful Refuge
A Need for Peaceful Refuge Every winter, people living in the middle to upper northern
hemisphere can see birds migrate south in hopes of warmer weather. They need a place of refuge
in order to survive. Humans, although we do not fly south, must move from one place to another
in order to either live, find happiness, or experience societal needs. While some may have
generally one motive for their migration, most will inhabit some other reasons for moving from
their homeland. A current issue in today s world is the crisis occurring in the Middle East. People in
that area are having land disputes for, mainly, both cultural and economic reasons. Because of this,
the conflict was escalated into war, and now many inhabitants of the Middle East must seek refuge
in other places of the world where they can experience economic stability and practice their culture.
The current Syrian refugeecrisis, while it is not the only form of migration among humans on
Earth, is a highly stressed global issue and is a great example of migration. The United Nations
have arranged several refugee camps for the civilians who wish to escape from the warfare.
Unfortunately, their health, education, and economy is at risk. They require a stable society. Caryl
Stern, a journalist who traveled to a camp in Jordan, stated that while they had temporary safety
from the warfare, families were dependent on their children as they generated a mass amount of the
family income (Stern, 2015). Mrs. Stern

Persuasive Speech About Sex Education
Did you know that 24 states in the US require their public schools to teach sex education and HIV
education to their students (NCL.org)? Do they even need to understand sex or STDs? Well of
course not. That s why schools should not even teach these students sex because it s just going to
be too much for the high school students young mind, sex education will definitely motivate the
students to have sex regardless of their sexuality , and it s up to their not so busy parents to
explain sex and all its glory to their children who are attending high school.
First off, why would you want to teach high school students about sex if you know it s going to
be too much for their young, innocent minds? Let s face it, once when the teacher begins to talk
about the males baby maker and the females foo foo the students are going to start laughing, or
getting very uncomfortable. Very mature children, won t you say? Of course, the teachers are not
going to call it baby maker or foo foo they re going to say the correct terms. Furthermore, sex
education will most likely have to touch on the more sensitive topics like sexual harassment, or
prostitution. Students having to hear about innocent people being raped is already crossing the
line, and learning that women and maybe men are willing to have sex just to gain money. Might as
well drop the class, or start skipping it.
If for some reason the students are able to handle the lessons of sex, then that means they re going
to be motivated to want to have sex with each other regardless their sexuality. Evidently this class
is going to motivate them, the students, to have sex, and the students are not going to give a flip
about the results. They re going to eventually learn that sex can be a pleasurable action as
explained in both stage three and five of Sigmund Freud s psychosexual development theory. Stage
three, which is the phallic stage, states that around the age of three to five years old, the child will
seek for pleasure that is centered on masturbation and/or oral sex. Furthermore, stage five of the
theory, which is the genital stage, states that around the age of 12 through adulthood centers on the
seeking for sexual pleasuring through romantic

Crisis
Crisis! Anytime we, as a society, hear this word our ears perk up and the speaker has our attention.
Usually when we hear crisis we think that it is something with the distinct possibility of a highly
undesirable outcome (Merriam Webster) that calls for immediate response. President George W.
Bush says that we are in a national energy crisis (Is Yucca Mountain in Nevadaa safe disposal
site?). Bush has proposed a solution, storing all of our nation s nuclear waste in Nevada s Yucca

Lisa Gue, a policy analyst with Public Citizen says, Yucca Mountain is an unsuitable site for an
unsuitable project.
Many of the environmentalists oppose Yucca Mountain because they believe that the waste could
contaminate our water supply. They believe that water could corrode the canisters and then the
United States would be confronting a catastrophe. However, a study, conducted by the DOE, found
that even if water would erode the canisters of waste, the waste would still have to pass through one
thousand feet of rock to contaminate an underground water supply. Obviously, this fifteen year
study, completed in 1998, greatly encouraged progression towards completion of Yucca Mountain.
Despite these findings, skeptics still believe that water could be contaminated and claim that
because the study was conducted by the DOE which is pro Yucca Mountain that it should be
disregarded as biased.
The largest problem confronting Yucca Mountain is transporting the radioactive waste from
temporary storage sites. The waste would be transported by truck and train. Inevitably, accidents
would occur during this process. The DOE says that special shipping casks should prevent any
major impacts from any accidents. Critics, who have dubbed the Yucca Mountain plan Mobile
Chernobyl, say that the combination of diesel fuel fires and radioactive waste could seriously

* We wanted to check the initiative taken by the Consumers to fight against malpractices and its
effects?
* Does education level of people make them more aware about the unfair trade practices going in
the consumer market?
* Are people aware about consumer courts and consumer protection acts?
* Do people take the initiative to go ahead and fight against, raise voice against these malpractices?
Through our research we will try to find out all the above objectives and come to a conclusion
whether the steps and actions implemented by the government to raise the level of consumer
awareness among the masses is affective or not?
Limitations of the research * The project is not purely based on primary information but includes a
lot of information obtained from various sources.
* The sample size is small compared to the population of our country.
* The project has approximately 50% of primary data and rest of the data is secondary.
* The project is based on human assumptions and their self thinking as different persons thinking

class (currently unemployed and used to work in a local furniture store). He is a single man, but
his sexual orientation, romantic and sexual relationships are not mentioned in the report.
Considering his particular cultural elements, he is in advantageous situation in some part such
as, ethnicity, sex, religion and age. Thus, he is not likely to feel extra oppression due to his
metal health and alcohol use problems. However, his comes from low SES and has a mental
disability (therefore, he become eligible to Medicare), these probably negatively influence his
mental health progression. For example, he is not able to access his former psychiatrist due to his
current insurance. When it comes to his spirituality, even though his father is a religious man, the
client does not seem to be interested in spiritual issues. However, his father s strong spirituality
would be beneficial for both. Since, the client s father, as a main social support source, his mental
and physical health is also vital for Tom. In fact, his father plays a critical role in Tom s life.
Conceptualization

Essay on Social Welfare
The Declaration of Independence was created in 1776 with three basic principles in mind. The
pursuits of life, liberty, and happiness were the paramount issues focused on by the framers. The
18th Century was a different time. Back then, every man worked on his own farm. He was
expected to provide for himself and his family. It was unheard of for anyone to receive assistance
from the government. As the country progressed and evolved, the rich got richer and the poor
poorer. The Gilded Age of the late 19th Centurytruly showed the disparity in wealth in America

Today, many Americans still rely on government subsidies to provide money for survival
necessities. Despite the reduction in many programs, Social Security, unemployment, and other
federal programs still provide money to millions of Americans. One of the greatest arguments in
every political race is the fight to keep or modify existing legislation that allows these programs to
continue. In the 2000 presidential race, these programs were on the forefront of the political
bickering between the Republicans and Democrats. The legislation of 1996 has shown that it is
possible to reduce social welfare programs, but often it is difficult to eliminate them totally.
Social Security is the prime example of a social welfare program that is all but impossible to
eliminate. Created by the passage of the 1935 Social Security Act, money was to be provided to 35
million elderly American citizens who, at the time, faced a bleak, penniless future. Franklin
Roosevelt was one of the staunchest supporters of this legislation:

but is by no means complete.... It is...a law that will take care of

Analysis Of On Self Respect By Joan Didion
In 2017 our thoughts and actions are guided and molded in large part by social media, reality
television shows and pop culture. Without realizing the extent to which constructed reality and
self curated life exhibitions shape how we see the world, we form perceptions and establish
standards of what our lives should look like based on stories and photos posted on Snapchat and
Instagram and find ourselves reflexively belting out song lyrics that directly contradict our values.
Joan Didion, a unique and relatable but brilliant author, seems to have an understanding that the
challenges she faced as a freshman in college in the 1950s would still be relevant and problematic
for college students almost 70 years later. In Didion s essay, On... Show more content on

Didion convinces her audience that self respect is the complete opposite; it is about taking
ownership of your actions and having the moral courage to gracefully accept the consequences of
those actions, even when the actions themselves are not respectable. One of the most interesting
things about Didion manifested through her writing is her traditional and precise understanding of
self respect. Self respect can be developed through the audacity of an individual and a personal
journey that is composed of mistakes of any breadth, and ultimately not running away from those
points of weakness.
In attempts to stop this new definition of self respect (seeking attention and acceptance from
people around you) from blossoming any further, Didion needs to find a way to convince her
audience that her definition is correct. To get her audience s full attention she must first gain their
trust. Joan Didion is an esteemed author. Before Slouching Towards Bethlehem, a compilation of
Didion s essays, including On Self Respect, was published in 1968, most of her works were
initially published in reputable news publications and magazines such as American Scholar,
California Monthly, New York Times Magazine, and the Saturday Evening Post. Her frequent
contributions to these respected publications gives her a credible

Ocean Currents Are Affected By Global Warming
The answer is yes. During this quarter we learned a lot about global warming and its disturbing
effects on ocean and climate. Ocean currents that are caused by thermohaline circulation are
affected by global warming due to glacial melting in Antarctica and Greenland which cause
abundant freshwater input into thermohaline circulation and thus mixing of freshwater with saline
water causes the current to slow down and even possibly to shut down, for example, ocean current
such as Gulf Stream. Likewise, global warmingcauses tidal range change due to sea level rise,
which is caused by the same factor of glacial melting. NOAA suggests that tidal datums must be
updated at least every 20 25 years due to global sea level rise. According to Doeke

The Characteristics Of Media Feeding Frrenzy By Larry Sabato
The media is a citizen s gateway to the world of politics. For the majority of Americans the news
is their primary source of information and the substance of that news very often is based on the
number of viewers it will draw, not the importance of the story. Basically the media shows you
the stories that it wants you to know, but it also shows the stories it wants you to get upset about.
A trait that the general media has developed for the past double decades is that of jumping on a
story particularly about political figures and going into frenzy for as long as the public s attention
span will allow them to. Often times it is because of something a person did wrong or
controversially, but that is not always the case as it could be over something very ordinary but just
surprising. Media feeding frenzies can sometimes be warranted, and other times they just seem to
happen because there s nothing else for them to latch onto at the time. Billygate, Jimmy Carters
killer rabbit and Sarah Palinbeing announced as John McCains running mate in 2008 are just a
few examples of media feeding frenzies. In Feeding Frenzy by Larry Sabato he is critical of the
characteristics of the media in situations where they openly ridicule and attack a widely known
person for some sort of wrongdoing, or past indiscretion. According to Sabato, journalists and the
media now fit snugly into their newfound role as gatekeeper, which he says enables them to
basically screen people who are fit for

BP s Consideration of Outsourcing IT
One of the most important forces of outsourcing is that organizations do not have gain the needed
and required sources internally. And they have a difficulty in integrating and attracting expertise,
where outsources own capabilities on a global level, modern technologies and other required
resources. Also, by outsourcingthe cost of keeping employees and consultants for short term is
reduced. Furthermore, outsourcers are able to offer better career opportunities for business IT
staff if they decide to transit to the outsourcer. As the manager of BP Company viewed the main
reason of BP Company outsourcing is that it has become increasingly apparent that service
companies provide us with technical skills and ideas that we could no longer develop inside our

Homemade Is The New Organic By Rachel Jones For The Atlantic
Nowadays, many people start living a healthy lifestyle. People realize an importance of caring
about what is in their food and benefits of home cooked meals over processed food. Home
Cooking is not just healthier, but also it has tons of benefits. Simple examples are saving money,
controlling body weight and avoiding foodpoisoning. Homemade is the New Organic written by
Rachel Jones for the Atlantic (2015), discussed the new food trend cookingat home. In her article,
she explained how cooking is becoming popular recently. An earlier time, a family which has low
income had no choice but to use homemade food. Today, however, meaning of homemade food
changes. People start to appreciate the goodness of cooking at home and intentionally choose the
homemade. Moreover, she mentioned that social media has a huge effect on this change. Since we
have all the necessary tools and food in our kitchen, only a bit of time needs to be devoted.
Basically, she tried to inform a general public that home cooking has an essential value in our life.
In my opinion, Rachel successfully achieves her intention with the help of following rhetorical
strategies: logos, ethos and counterpoint.
First, Rachel adopts logos to illustrate the emerging importance of homemade meals to the
audience. In other words, using general reasoning and facts, she tried to make her article more
persuading. In the beginning of the article, she acknowledges her personal facts to demonstrate her
idea. For example, she

Economic Injustice During The Middle East And South Africa...
Economic Injustice In Education System Abstract This paper is presented with the empirical
investigation of the inequality of education opportunities, that are limitless, effected by economic
injustice throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The inequality of opportunities,
plays a significant role in the lack of educational achievements in the Middle Eastand MENA
countries. Gender equality, poverty, and community can be significant reason on why younger
adults are not given the opportunity for higher educationor education overall. Economic injustice
in education, are due to the fact that many citizens can t afford to attend high school or college.
Due to this, it has resulted in a high percentage of illiteracy in the Middle East and the majority
of MENA countries. Gender equality, one of the biggest vital role that plays in the cause of
economic injustice in education system in the Middle East. Women are not expected to go to
school or make it to a higher level of education, but instead they are expected to stay home and
tend to their families. In the Middle East, religious prejudices often prevent girls from attending
school as well. Economic injustice in education is flourishing because child labor to prop up
household incomes when times are tough, due to the lack of developed insurance or saving
systems in these countries. Access to educate has evolved dramatically over the decades , and there

There are many other analytical methods exist for solving nonlinear differential equations, for
example: Adomin s decomposition method, Homotopy perturbation method (HPM), Liapunov
s artificial method etc. But HAM is more general in comparison of all of these methods. In this
thesis, author presents a difference between HPM and HAM, but he has not compared the
results of any problem obtained by HAM and HPM. He presents only a theoretical description of
comparison of methods. In HAM, we have to choose an initial guess, a linear operator and a
convergence control parameter h. According to Liao, we can choose these parameters freely. This
thesis provides a way to select an appropriate linear operator and value of convergence parameter.
Non uniqueness of linear operator has also mentioned, which shows the independency of choosing
a linear operator. Author has applied HAM to solve a system of nonlinear partial and ordinary
differential equations, which shows a significant application of HAM. But he has not solved any
system of more than two equations; this is a drawback of this thesis. In chapter 3, some theorems
are given to show the existence of solution. In fluid flow problems, many differential equations have

Relationship Between Wildlife And Wildlife
In areas of the world where economic development has been in delicate balance with protecting
wildlife and natural environments, conflict has arisen between humans and the wildlife. In Africa
(bless the rains) and Asia habitat is being replaced by small scale agricultural needs, and
agribusiness (1) resulting in human wildlife conflict; within India alone as many as 1144 people
were killed between April 2014 and May 2017 (2) according to their environment ministry. This
increased conflict between species has had detrimental impacts on conservation efforts, such as with
the Asian elephant.
Elephants have seen incredible habitat loss due to human encroachment, now with about 20% of
the world s human population living in or near the present range of them (4). As a result of this
the interactions between the two have become tense. Cases have been documented of them crop
raiding (3) and in parts of Sumatra it can be the most significant source of park people conflict.
(3) As these crops can be a large part of local people s livelihoods, ensuring as little wildlife ruins
them as possible is essential. However a study conducted showed that elephants raided crops
year round at a rate of 0.53 a day in their study area, and (3) such regular interactions resulted in
24 deaths within the study area over a 12 year period. With their loss of habitat comes a loss of
food and resources, coupled with the fact that human settlements will have a regular supply of food,

of the galleries and my favorite was the Flavin Installation because of the light design he chose.
Within my whole experience visiting the museum I would say that the art I enjoy most is buildings

They both have extremely cold temperatures and are just on opposite sides of the globe. They have snow all year, and fantasies are made about igloos and eskimos. Although there are similarities, there are two sides to the same coin. Antarctica is a continent that is used for more of scientific study and holds 90% of earth s ice. Antarctica is one big continent, meaning there are no other parts to Antarctica. Antarctica has even reached the nice and breezy 128.6 degrees F. Henceforth, there are not many animals in Antarctica. • 3. Energy Commission Information ( Eia ) Essay The United States is the largest economy in the world. According to the World Bank its GDP is approximately 16.8 trillion as of 2013. As the U.S. grows in population, so does the demand of goods. Is the country heading towards greater prosperity or towards a dismal hole? Is the United States practicing weak or strong sustainabilityand should we be worried about running out of non renewable resources? We all know what non renewable resources are economic values that cannot be replaced within a reasonable time frame. According to the U.S. energy commission Information (EIA) Administration the United States consumed approximately 6.89 billion barrels of petroleum in 2013. Now, 6.89 billion barrels of petroleum may seem like an overwhelming amount of oil, but according to the EIA we should have enough oil to meet demands for the next 25 years. The EIA predicts that the demand for non renewable resources will be met for at least 25 more years, but what happens after that? Some people would argue that the U.S. has been sustained up to this point in time however others would say the contrary. So, first I would like to define my interpretation sustainability as, being able to meet today s demand, without compromising tomorrows . Under this definition I believe that the U.S. has been sustainable up to this point in time. Although non renewable resources have been utilized, new discoveries are still happening. The track record of finding non renewable resources has fared ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It s a theme that is present throughout the entire play. Iago, who the main villain of the play, is jealous of Othello and the power he has. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Shakespeare s time, this was not widely viewed as acceptable and this is why it causes conflict in the play. Even though Othello has a high position of power and is highly respected, his race is always brought into the picture and never seems to be forgotten. The tone of Othello is mostly bitter. This is mainly due to Iago s conflict throughout. He influences the other characters, especially Othello, and causes them to become bitter as well. Each character is emotionally affected by Iago and his ability to get inside each individual mind. For example, Othello is overcome with emotions from his heartbreak when finding out that Desdemona has been seeing Cassio that he kills Desdemona and later himself. He also stabs Iago when he finds out all of the lies that he has told. The irrational emotions and actions that follow make the ton depressing as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Similarities Between Heart Of Darkness And Apocalypse Now Heart of Darkness and its modern film adaptation Apocalypse Now are two masterpieces of art, by Joseph Conrad and Francis Ford Coppola respectively, seeking to show the truth of their respective worlds, that explore themes of conflict and darkness. Just as the invisible hand falters, so is the case that the unregulated markets are incapable of solving all economic problems. In laissez faire economy, market models mainly monopolistic, perfect competition and oligopoly are expected to efficiently allocate resources for the welfare benefit of the society. However individualistic and selfish private interests divert the public benefits thereby prompting government intervention to correct the imperfection which may lead to disastrous economic impact. Competition failure or monopoly may result from natural monopoly where it costs incurred in production becomes lower when only one firm is involved in production than several firms producing the same output. In a monopolist market under production, higher prices become dominant contributing to market inefficiency. Winston cites cases of misuse of monopoly power can lead to market failures and sometimes may lead to acute shortage of essential commodities (130). Coordination failures by private markets are perceived to contribute significantly in inefficiency. Negative externalities like environmental pollution and positive externalities like focusing on public benefits and ignoring the private benefits significantly contribute to market failures. Fundamental questions have been raised to determine the appropriate time government intervention is required and the magnitude of inefficiency to warrant supposedly intervention or to let the market correct itself. Stiglitz, argued that inefficient government microeconomic policies to address the market gap often tends to exacerbate the existing problem or yield unproductive results in the economy (34). • 23. Difference Between Liberalism And Anarchism The multiple strands of both liberalism and anarchism prevent any continuous agreement between the main ideas of the two ideologies. The fundamental belief that mankind comprises rational free thinking individuals is common to both view points. However, the level to which the individual can be trusted differs between the two. Anarchists place greater emphasis on the ability for individuals to excel without the interference of an overarching body. Liberals argue that the state is a needed device to ensure that the liberty of each individual is maintained and not limited by other individuals. Liberals believe that individuals are rational and able to recognise their own self interest, this being the main reason why liberals support high levels of individual freedom only constrained to some extent by the state. Liberal individualism, especially within classical liberalism, means that individuals are atomistic and that they will act rationally in support of their own self interest rather than in the interests of society as a whole. Although the liberal adoption of laissez faire economics promotes an atomistic view on individuals, it also argues that an atomistic approach to economics will benefit the entirety of society. They need a place of refuge in order to survive. Humans, although we do not fly south, must move from one place to another in order to either live, find happiness, or experience societal needs. While some may have generally one motive for their migration, most will inhabit some other reasons for moving from their homeland. A current issue in today s world is the crisis occurring in the Middle East. People in that area are having land disputes for, mainly, both cultural and economic reasons. Do they even need to understand sex or STDs? Well of course not. That s why schools should not even teach these students sex because it s just going to be too much for the high school students young mind, sex education will definitely motivate the students to have sex regardless of their sexuality , and it s up to their not so busy parents to explain sex and all its glory to their children who are attending high school. First off, why would you want to teach high school students about sex if you know it s going to be too much for their young, innocent minds? Let s face it, once when the teacher begins to talk about the males baby maker and the females foo foo the students are going to start laughing, or getting very uncomfortable. Very mature children, won t you say? Of course, the teachers are not going to call it baby maker or foo foo they re going to say the correct terms. Furthermore, sex education will most likely have to touch on the more sensitive topics like sexual harassment, or prostitution. Students having to hear about innocent people being raped is already crossing the line, and learning that women and maybe men are willing to have sex just to gain money. Might as well drop the class, or start skipping it. If for some reason the students are able to handle the lessons of sex, then that means they re going to be motivated to want to have sex with each other regardless their sexuality. Evidently this class is going to motivate them, the students, to have sex, and the students are not going to give a flip about the results. They re going to eventually learn that sex can be a pleasurable action as explained in both stage three and five of Sigmund Freud s psychosexual development theory. Stage three, which is the phallic stage, states that around the age of three to five years old, the child will seek for pleasure that is centered on masturbation and/or oral sex. Without realizing the extent to which constructed reality and self curated life exhibitions shape how we see the world, we form perceptions and establish standards of what our lives should look like based on stories and photos posted on Snapchat and Instagram and find ourselves reflexively belting out song lyrics that directly contradict our values. Joan Didion, a unique and relatable but brilliant author, seems to have an understanding that the challenges she faced as a freshman in college in the 1950s would still be relevant and problematic for college students almost 70 years later. In Didion s essay, On... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Didion convinces her audience that self respect is the complete opposite; it is about taking ownership of your actions and having the moral courage to gracefully accept the consequences of those actions, even when the actions themselves are not respectable. One of the most interesting things about Didion manifested through her writing is her traditional and precise understanding of self respect. Self respect can be developed through the audacity of an individual and a personal journey that is composed of mistakes of any breadth, and ultimately not running away from those points of weakness. In attempts to stop this new definition of self respect (seeking attention and acceptance from people around you) from blossoming any further, Didion needs to find a way to convince her audience that her definition is correct. To get her audience s full attention she must first gain their trust. Joan Didion is an esteemed author. Before Slouching Towards Bethlehem, a compilation of Didion s essays, including On Self Respect, was published in 1968, most of her works were initially published in reputable news publications and magazines such as American Scholar, California Monthly, New York Times Magazine, and the Saturday Evening Post. Her frequent contributions to these respected publications gives her a credible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Ocean Currents Are Affected By Global Warming The answer is yes. During this quarter we learned a lot about global warming and its disturbing effects on ocean and climate. Ocean currents that are caused by thermohaline circulation are affected by global warming due to glacial melting in Antarctica and Greenland which cause abundant freshwater input into thermohaline circulation and thus mixing of freshwater with saline water causes the current to slow down and even possibly to shut down, for example, ocean current such as Gulf Stream. Likewise, global warmingcauses tidal range change due to sea level rise, which is caused by the same factor of glacial melting. NOAA suggests that tidal datums must be updated at least every 20 25 years due to global sea level rise. According to Doeke ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. The Characteristics Of Media Feeding Frrenzy By Larry Sabato The media is a citizen s gateway to the world of politics. For the majority of Americans the news is their primary source of information and the substance of that news very often is based on the number of viewers it will draw, not the importance of the story. Basically the media shows you the stories that it wants you to know, but it also shows the stories it wants you to get upset about. A trait that the general media has developed for the past double decades is that of jumping on a story particularly about political figures and going into frenzy for as long as the public s attention span will allow them to. Often times it is because of something a person did wrong or controversially, but that is not always the case as it could be over something very ordinary but just surprising. Media feeding frenzies can sometimes be warranted, and other times they just seem to happen because there s nothing else for them to latch onto at the time. Billygate, Jimmy Carters killer rabbit and Sarah Palinbeing announced as John McCains running mate in 2008 are just a few examples of media feeding frenzies. In Feeding Frenzy by Larry Sabato he is critical of the characteristics of the media in situations where they openly ridicule and attack a widely known person for some sort of wrongdoing, or past indiscretion. According to Sabato, journalists and the media now fit snugly into their newfound role as gatekeeper, which he says enables them to basically screen people who are fit for ... • 37. BP s Consideration of Outsourcing IT One of the most important forces of outsourcing is that organizations do not have gain the needed and required sources internally. And they have a difficulty in integrating and attracting expertise, where outsources own capabilities on a global level, modern technologies and other required resources. Also, by outsourcingthe cost of keeping employees and consultants for short term is reduced. Furthermore, outsourcers are able to offer better career opportunities for business IT staff if they decide to transit to the outsourcer. As the manager of BP Company viewed the main reason of BP Company outsourcing is that it has become increasingly apparent that service companies provide us with technical skills and ideas that we could no longer develop inside our own company (Kremis, 2006). 5. Risks and Opportunities Associated with IT Outsourcing Various previous studies viewed outsourcing concept and have tried to explain its fact including challenges, risks, motivation, and determinates. Where, the decision of outsourcing is usually seen as logical and rational decision by senior management with prediction to gain various benefits and avoid the expected risks. So, both side of outsourcing should be noticed and taken into considerations when deciding to take any outsourcing decision, below explanation of these opportunities as well as risks associated with IT outsourcing, according to (Kremis, 2006; Mui, 2003; sell et al., 2004): 5.1. • 39. Homemade Is The New Organic By Rachel Jones For The Atlantic Nowadays, many people start living a healthy lifestyle. People realize an importance of caring about what is in their food and benefits of home cooked meals over processed food. Home Cooking is not just healthier, but also it has tons of benefits. Simple examples are saving money, controlling body weight and avoiding foodpoisoning. Homemade is the New Organic written by Rachel Jones for the Atlantic (2015), discussed the new food trend cookingat home. In her article, she explained how cooking is becoming popular recently. An earlier time, a family which has low income had no choice but to use homemade food. Today, however, meaning of homemade food changes. People start to appreciate the goodness of cooking at home and intentionally choose the homemade. Moreover, she mentioned that social media has a huge effect on this change. Since we have all the necessary tools and food in our kitchen, only a bit of time needs to be devoted. Basically, she tried to inform a general public that home cooking has an essential value in our life. In my opinion, Rachel successfully achieves her intention with the help of following rhetorical strategies: logos, ethos and counterpoint. First, Rachel adopts logos to illustrate the emerging importance of homemade meals to the audience. In other words, using general reasoning and facts, she tried to make her article more persuading. In the beginning of the article, she acknowledges her personal facts to demonstrate her idea. For example, she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Economic Injustice In Education System Abstract This paper is presented with the empirical investigation of the inequality of education opportunities, that are limitless, effected by economic injustice throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The inequality of opportunities, plays a significant role in the lack of educational achievements in the Middle Eastand MENA countries. Gender equality, poverty, and community can be significant reason on why younger adults are not given the opportunity for higher educationor education overall. Economic injustice in education, are due to the fact that many citizens can t afford to attend high school or college. Due to this, it has resulted in a high percentage of illiteracy in the Middle East and the majority of MENA countries. Gender equality, one of the biggest vital role that plays in the cause of economic injustice in education system in the Middle East. Women are not expected to go to school or make it to a higher level of education, but instead they are expected to stay home and tend to their families. In the Middle East, religious prejudices often prevent girls from attending school as well. There are many other analytical methods exist for solving nonlinear differential equations, for example: Adomin s decomposition method, Homotopy perturbation method (HPM), Liapunov s artificial method etc. But HAM is more general in comparison of all of these methods. In this thesis, author presents a difference between HPM and HAM, but he has not compared the results of any problem obtained by HAM and HPM. He presents only a theoretical description of comparison of methods. In HAM, we have to choose an initial guess, a linear operator and a convergence control parameter h. According to Liao, we can choose these parameters freely. This thesis provides a way to select an appropriate linear operator and value of convergence parameter. Non uniqueness of linear operator has also mentioned, which shows the independency of choosing a linear operator. Author has applied HAM to solve a system of nonlinear partial and ordinary differential equations, which shows a significant application of HAM. But he has not solved any system of more than two equations; this is a drawback of this thesis. In chapter 3, some theorems are given to show the existence of solution. In fluid flow problems, many differential equations have multiple solutions, but in this thesis this case has not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Relationship Between Wildlife And Wildlife In areas of the world where economic development has been in delicate balance with protecting wildlife and natural environments, conflict has arisen between humans and the wildlife. In Africa (bless the rains) and Asia habitat is being replaced by small scale agricultural needs, and agribusiness (1) resulting in human wildlife conflict; within India alone as many as 1144 people were killed between April 2014 and May 2017 (2) according to their environment ministry. This increased conflict between species has had detrimental impacts on conservation efforts, such as with the Asian elephant. Elephants have seen incredible habitat loss due to human encroachment, now with about 20% of the world s human population living in or near the present range of them (4). As a result of this the interactions between the two have become tense. Cases have been documented of them crop raiding (3) and in parts of Sumatra it can be the most significant source of park people conflict. (3) As these crops can be a large part of local people s livelihoods, ensuring as little wildlife ruins them as possible is essential. However a study conducted showed that elephants raided crops year round at a rate of 0.53 a day in their study area, and (3) such regular interactions resulted in 24 deaths within the study area over a 12 year period. With their loss of habitat comes a loss of food and resources, coupled with the fact that human settlements will have a regular supply of food, it only makes sense ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
