2. • Students for 25% seats in Master degree programs in AUs are admitted
through AIEEA (PG).
• All (100%) seats of the four ICAR-DUs namely, Indian Agricultural
Research Institute (IARI), Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI),
National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) and Central Institute of
Fisheries Education (CIFE) are also filled up through the same
examination.

3. There is no provision of direct nomination for
admission through ICAR in any Master degree
programme without qualifying in ICAR AIEEA
(PG).

4. Important tentative date and month
• Online application: Feb. month
• Last date of receipt of application: Last week of the month Feb.
• Last date of receipt of application from
remote areas (A&N Island, Arunachal Pradesh,
Assam, J&K, Lahul and Spiti district and Pangi
division of Chamba district of HP, Lakshadweep,
Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim
and Tripura): 5-6 days relaxation
• Admit card or Roll number query: After last week of March
• Examination: April
• Declaration of results: After third week of May
• Schedule for counselling: June-July

7. Scheme of Examination
The test of AIEEA (PG) 2020 has a single paper of 2 hours
duration. Details of the test are given below:
• Mode of Examination LAN Based CBT (Computer Based Test)
• Duration 120 minutes (2 hours)
• Number of Questions 120
• Type of Questions Multiple Choice Questions
• Scoring 4 marks for each correct response
-1 mark fo each incorrect response
(negative scoring)
0 for non-attempt
• Medium of Paper English only

8. Syllabus for the Test
The Question Papers for the test shall be
based on the syllabus prescribed by the
ICAR, which is available at the website
www.icar.org.in

9. Age and Nationality: Indian nationals, Not less than 19
years, No relaxation is admissible regarding the minimum age
limit.
 Qualifying Examination:
• Only those candidates having passed their Bachelor’s Degree
or appearing at the Final Examination of the Bachelor’s
Degree in Agriculture from recognized university with
required OGPA of 6.60/10; 3.25/5; 2.60/4 for General, OBC
and UPS (Remote and Under Privileged States/UT)
categories whereas, for SC/ST/PC categories, the said
requirement is 5.60/10; 2.75/5; 2.20/4, respectively.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

10. • 10+2+4; 10+6 years degree programs may apply
for this examination.
• Very few universities available for 10+2+3 years
degree programs (CCSHAU-Hissar, Dr.
YSPUH&F-Solan, PAU-Ludhiana, IARI-Pusa,
SHIATS-Allahabad, GBPUA&T-Pantnagar)

11. RESERVATION OF SEATS FOR SC/ST, PC,
UPS AND OBC
• 15% for SC and 7.5% for ST in different disciplines.
• The reservation of seats among SC and ST categories is interchangeable.
• 3% seats are reserved, horizontally across the categories in different
subjects for physically challenged (PC) candidates.
• Reservation for candidates belonging to Central OBC category would be
available at BHU, Viswa Bharati, AMU, SASARD Nagaland University,
CAU, CIFE, IARI, IVRI and NDRI universities as per latest GoI
directions.

12. The admission (without fellowship) as well as with ICAR-JRF
(PGS) will be given to only that candidate who joins the masters
degree programme in the university other than that from where
he/she has obtained his/her Bachelors degree except at NDRI,
Karnal, where 100% seats were filled through ICAR Entrance
Examination

14. AMOUNT OF FELLOWSHIP
The fellowship is at the rate of Rs. 12 640/ - per month for a
period of two years together with a contingency grant of Rs.
6000 / - per year (for procurement of essential chemicals, equipments, books and
travel connected with the research work).
Note: The rates of fellowship and contingency grant for higher studies will be
as prescribed by the Council from time to time.
Duration of ICAR-JRF (PGS) will be two years and in no case it
will be extended beyond the period of two years.
DURATION

15. Not more than 50% of the contingent grant will be
spent for purchase of books. All purchases are to be
made with the approval of the Major
Advisor/Chairman of Student Advisory Committee.

16. The non-PG Scholarship/NTS(PG) candidates shall be eligible to
get revised National Talent Scholarship (NTS) of Rs. 5,000/- per
month for two years provided they join Master degree programme
in an AU located in a state different from their state of domicile.

26072016.pdf/. Even the candidates who do not want to avail NTS
(PG) have to mandatorily seek admission in an AU different from
the one from where they have graduated.
