The World Wide Web (WWW) is a subset of the Internet that allows users to access and view web pages through a web browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. Web pages are written using HTML and hypertext links that allow users to easily navigate between pages on the same or different websites. The Internet is a larger network that also includes other non-Web applications like email, file transfer, and chat services. All websites reside on web servers that are connected to the Internet and identified by unique IP addresses.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

1. WORLD WIDE WEB
W.W.W stands for "World Wide Web." It is
important to know that this is not a
synonym for the Internet. The World Wide
Web, or just "the Web," as ordinary people
call it, is a subset of the Internet. The Web
consists of pages that can be accessed
using a Web browser. Web Browsers are
software installed on our PC. To access the
Web you need a web browsers, such as
Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet
Explorer Mozilla Firefox.
2. On the Web, when you navigate through
pages of information this is commonly
known as browsing or surfing. The
Internet is the actual network of networks
where all the information resides. Things
like Telnet, FTP, Internet gaming, Internet
Relay Chat (IRC), and e-mail are all part
of the Internet, but are not part of the
World Wide Web. The Hyper-Text
Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is the method
used to transfer Web pages to your
computer.
3. All Web pages are written in the hyper-
text markup language (HTML), which
works in conjunction with HTTP. With
hypertext, a word or phrase can contain a
link to another Web site, which is a
collection of various pages written in
HTML markup language. This is a
location on the web where people can
find tutorials on latest technologies.
Similarly, there are millions of websites
available on the web.
4. Each page available on the website is
called a web page and first page of any
website is called home page for that site.
Every Website sits on a computer known
as a Web server. This server is always
connected to the internet.
Every Web server that is connected to
the Internet is given a unique address
made up of a series of four numbers
between 0 and 256 separated by periods.
