The document defines the World Wide Web (WWW) as a collection of hyperlinked documents that form part of the Internet. It was invented at CERN by Tim Berners-Lee in the 1990s, adding commercial applications to the Internet. The WWW has a distributed client-server architecture where clients access services using servers located at different sites, with each site containing one or more web pages connected through links. Key components of the WWW include URLs to identify pages, DNS to translate names to addresses, web browsers to view pages, and search engines to search the vast information on the WWW. The document notes some implications of the WWW in education, banking, medicine, and transportation.
'In this presentation I will be explaining to you the difference between "the Internet and the Web". Whist I will be as vague as I can be this is still a review/analysis of these two things. Even basic computer knowledge would be enough for you to understand this presentation.

A very important thing to know about internet is WWW. We all see this 1 word but most of us are not aware of it. So in this slide you will find everything about World Wide Web.
World Wide Web, which is also known as a Web, is a collection of websites or web pages stored in web servers and connected to local computers through the internet. These websites contain text pages, digital images, audios, videos, etc.
web 2.0
Web 2.0 refers to a perceived second generation of web development and design, that facilitates communication, secure information sharing, interoperability, and collaboration on the World Wide Web.
To access and use the internet, you typically need a few basic components and follow some straightforward steps. Here's a general guide:
Components Needed:
Device: You'll need a device capable of connecting to the internet, such as a computer, laptop, smartphone, tablet, or a smart device.
Internet Connection:
Wi-Fi: If using a wireless device, make sure you're in range of a Wi-Fi network. Connect by selecting the appropriate network and entering the password if required.
Ethernet: For wired connections, connect your device to an available Ethernet port using an Ethernet cable.
Internet Service Provider (ISP):
Subscribe to an internet service through an ISP. This may involve setting up an account, choosing a plan, and installing necessary equipment like a modem or router.

2. Definition:
World Wide Web or web in short is an extensive and growing
collection of hyperlinked documents which from part of the internet. It is
a subset of the internet and it present text, images, animation, video,
sound and other multimedia in a single interface.
Invention:
In the 1990s the explosion of Internet application due to the
emergence of the World Wide Web (WWW). The web was invented at
CERN by Tim Berners – Lee. This invention has added the commercial
application to the Internet.
3. Architecture:
The WWW today is a distributed client-server service,
in which a client using a browser can access a service using
server. However, the service provided is distributed over
many location called sites. Each site holds one or more web
pages. Each web page can contain some links to other web
pages in the same or other sites. Each web page is a file with
a name and address.
4. WWW contains some parts they are:
1. URL (Uniform Resource Locator)
2. DNS (Domain Name System)
3. Web browser
4. Search engine
And some protocols like, HTTP, TCP etc.
URL: A web page, as a file, needs to have a unique identifier to distinguish it
from other web pages. To define a web page, we need three identifiers: host,
port and path.
5. DNS: Domain name system is a hierarchical naming system for computers in
the internet. Most importantly it converts or translate human meaningful domain
names in to the numerical (binary) identifiers associated with networking
equipment for the purpose of locating and addressing these devices world wide.
6. Web Browser: A browser is a computer program that
accesses web pages and displays them on the computer screen. It is the basic
software that is needed to find, retrieve, view and send information over
internet. In fact, to access the World Wide Web, the user requires a web
browser. Example of web browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer.
7. Search Engine: The internet provide access to a wealth of information
on countless topics contributed by people throughout the world. However, the
internet is not a library in which all its available items are identified and can
require by single catalog. In fact, no one knows how many individual files (could
be millions) resides on the internet. Hence, to conduct a search on the internet a
special search tool known as search engine are used.
8. Implication of WWW (World Wide Web)
World Wide Web used in education:
World Wide Web used in banking system
9. World Wide Web used in medicine
World Wide Web used in transportation
