Definition Essay On Open Relationships
Have you found yourself asking, What is an open relationship or Are we in an open relationship? If so,
hopefully it isn t because you agreed to such a relationship without understanding what it really
means.
If you and your partner want to have a successful relationship (open or not), it s absolutely critical to
have clarity on your expectations of each other. This is rarely more important than when committing
to a non traditional arrangement.
Okay... back to the question. What exactly does it mean to have a relationship that s open? The
complicated thing is that the term has different meanings to different people, so take a look at some of
these categories and come to a finite agreement with your partner on some open relationship rules. ...

A relationship like this may or may not include full disclosure. In some cases, the faithful partner
accepts that there will be outside relationships but doesn t want to discuss it at all.
Swinging
One of the more controversial types of open relationships is the swinger lifestyle. In an open
relationship that includes couples dating others, there is often a focus on togetherness in the affairs.
In some cases, the couple dates other couples; however, there are many cases where the couple adds a
single third party to the relationship. The primary relationship comes first, but both partners are open
to fully disclosed outside relationships. When this is strictly sexual, a third (or fourth or fifth or
whatever) person may simply be included on occasion.
Swinging exists in a variety of other forms as well. In some cases, there may be a multitude of people
committed to openly sharing each other while forsaking all outside parties.
Open Committed
The most important reason to ask your partner What is an open relationship to you, is that for some
people the term simply means keeping communication lines

Drugs
Cocaine and crack are among the most addictive substances known to modern science, and they have
already ruined the lives of millions of Americans (Morganthau and Miller, 208). Cocaine and crack are
both dangerous, harmful drugs. Though pleasurable effects can be obtained from these drugs, the use
of crack and cocaine cannot be worth the actual consequences that are inflicted on mind and body. The
bad effects of these drugs, by far outweigh the good. Because crack and cocaine are so closely related,
it is important to have a firm understanding of both drugs. Cocaine (coke) is made from the
Erythroxylon coca plant, a coca tree that grows high in the Andes Mountains of South America. The
coca farmers purpose is to pick and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More specifically, crack is crystallized freebase cocaine. Freebasing is where cocaine hydrochloride is
mixed with ammonium hyroxide ether. This solution is then heated, the ether evaporated, and leaves
freebase cocaine which is then smokes (Zonderman and Shader, 65). This process is called cooking .
The crack residue is a solid crystalline substance that is broken into chips or pieces resembling gravel
(Edwards, 76). Crack is the smokable form of cocaine, and can only be taken into the body by
smoking it. Smoking crack cocaine introduces it into the system faster than other methods
(Zonderman and Shader, 660. To smoke it, the crystalline chips are either put into a glass pipe and
smoked, or crushed and smoked in a marijuana joint. The chips change to smoke when heated, which
is inhaled, drawn into the lungs, and then diffused rapidly into the bloodstream (Edwards, 77). The
little sacs of the lungs are lined with fatty tissue that readily absorbs the fat soluble crack (Mickey, 2).
Circulating blood transports the dissolved cocaine to the brain where it has immediate effect
(Edwards, 77). Crack reaches the brain within seven seconds (Mickey, 2). The effect, called a rush, is
caused by the almost pure cocaine s assault on the brain and central nervous system. The central
nervous system responds by involuntary movement of the muscles, increased body temperature, and
an overstimulation of the pleasure centers of the brain. The high

Postmodernism Has Changed The Representation Of Women
This literature review will explore how and to what extent postmodernism has changed the
representation of women in images. Postmodernism was a time period after modernism, being at the
centre of culture. What is to be regarded as postmodern, those things that are seen to occur as natural
are in fact shaped by humans, thus making it cultural. Postmodernism was brought as a result from the
1960 s onwards, being a reaction against anti realism modernism. Feminist artists and theorists have
combined postmodernism with their own work in order to bring forth the ideas surrounding that of,
how cultural forms or representation within the mass media are based around particular ideologies.
When referring to representation, when linking this with the works of the theories brought about by
postmodernism, how we see ourselves and how we construct the notions of ourselves are through the
structure of available images. Feminist theory points to how the construction of gender is an effect of
representation. The representation of women in images during the postmodern era, could merit further
investigation in order to inform of how women from all over the world have been represented,
whether it be regarding their race, nationality, age or sexuality. Using a variety of texts, the main
debates regarding this topic will be explored through critiquing selected theorists in order to develop
upon my own research. The following academic writings will be referenced: Weedon (1987),

Essay on Fire Imagery in Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre
Fire Imagery in Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre
Incomplete Works Cited
The prevalence of fire imagery and it s multitude of metaphoric uses in Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre
expresses two things that could not be expressed openly in the Victorian Period, which are mainly
passion and sexuality. Brontes writing was dictated by the morals of her society, but her ideas were
not. Jane Eyre was written with the Victorian reader in mind. Bronte knew that if she were to write
about these two things directly she would have to face possible rejection of her book. A resolution to
this dilemma was to awaken the audience in a way that society deemed not only respectable, but also
acceptable. So Bronte creates Jane, and Jane becomes the embodiment of ... Show more content on

In this passage from the novel, Jane begins to understand what will become of her if she gives into the
consuming passion that she often feels:
A ridge of lighted heath, alive, glancing, devouring, would have been a great emblem of my mind
when I accused and menaced Mrs. Reed; the same ridge, black and blasted after the flames are dead,
would have represented as meetly my subsequent condition. (69; ch. 4)
Bronte takes the fire and transforms it to illustrate the image of sexuality and passion. By doing this,
she also proposes the way in which internalized feelings of opposing ideas give into self depleting
energy through the loss of self control. Here, Jane has the fear of becoming like Mrs. Reed. She comes
to the realization that if this is not what she wants to be like, then she must keep her passions under
control. Otherwise, she could become black and blasted after the flames have died. This is presented
to embody what Victorian society believed to be true and is a fine example of everything that it
despises, which is namely the expression of passion. The fulfillment of self becomes the foundation of
society s views, on which the fears of women and their passionate behaviors are laid.
Indeed, fire and tumult are major themes within the novel, but these images also invade Victorian
arguments pertaining to a women s place in society, and the possible consequences that could occur if

The Discovery Of Mount Everest
Over nine thousand people died and thousands were displaced when an earthquake with a magnitude
of 8.1 hit Nepal in April 2015. Consequently, this earthquake triggered the deadliest event in the
history of Mount Everest when an avalanche killed 19 people two weeks later (1). This tragedy was
caused by two pieces of the planet s crust that have been colliding for millions of years now.
Moreover, this collision is based on the scientific theory of plate tectonics that cases the large scale
motion of the planet s lithosphere. The same theory also explains how Mount Everest, a part of the
Himalayas, was affected. Nepal s seismic nature and the Himalayas are connected through the
collision of the Indian Plate and the Eurasian plate. First and foremost, plate tectonic theory deals with
the idea that lithospheric plates or tectonic plates move around the crust. Tectonic plates are slabs of
the Earth s lithosphere which is a combination of the crust and uppermost mantle. The lithosphere is
characterized by its rigid and cooler nature. On the other hand, the asthenosphere is hotter and more
viscous and lies beneath the lithosphere. Together, the lithosphere and the asthenosphere makes up the
outer layers of the Earth. These two layers are really important because the rigid pieces of the
lithosphere ride on the viscosity of the asthenosphere (2). As previously mentioned, the Nepal
earthquake was caused collision of these plates and it has numerous underlying factors that started

The Use Of Nanopolymers For Biomedical Purposes
Statement of the problem:
The driving forces behind this work are related to the increased use of nanopolymers for biomedical
purposes. Charged and neutral polymers are routinely used for gene and drug delivery. However,
limited studies are performed to test their safety. Therefore, the originality of this work lies in its
attempt to evaluate the toxicity of three widely used polymers for delivery of chemotherapeutic
agents. Furthermore, we aim to establish efficient methods for nanotoxicity testing through comparing
the results of three different models ( 2D, 3D invitro cell cultures and invivo zebrafish
embryo)preparing these materials for clinical application.
Abstract
Nanomaterials exhibit a wide range of applications in different aspects of human life . In biomedical
fields, nanoparticles are packaged into different nanocarriers for drug and gene delivery especially for
improving the delivery of chemotherapeutic agents to tumors. However, no sufficient data that detect
their toxicity. In the present study, the toxicity of three different polymers that represent promising
drug carriers will be evaluated using 2D, 3D cell cultures and zebrafish embryos. The polymers to be

Cide In The Rocide Genocide
genocide the deliberate killing to eliminate of a group of people of the same race, religion or ethnicity.
This word is derived from a combination of a Greek word genos ( race or tribe ) and a Latin word cide
( killing ). In 1994, in the beginning of April, the same has happened in Rwanda. A genocide.
Before the colonial period in Rwanda, there were three classifications of people. Hutus, who made up
the majority of the population 84%, Tutsi who were only 17% and Twa who only made up 1%. Hutus
were from less privileged families and were cultivators, Tutsis were cattle herders and from rich
families, and Twa were potters and were outshined by the other groups (Stapleton 28). However, these
classifications were based on the number of cattle people owned. People who owned 10 cows or more
were considered Tutsi and people with less than 10 cows were considered Hutu. People could shift
from being a Hutu to a Tutsi or vice versa depending on the number of cattle they had. Before
colonization Tutsis and Hutus lived peacefully (Warren 19).
During the colonial period tensions from all corners, politically, educationally and socially were
created such that hatred and violence was harbored in Hutus and they decided to eliminate fellow
Rwandese, Tutsis. The existence of ethnicities itself did not lead to the Tutsi Genocide since they
existed even before the colonial era.
In 1914 after Germany lost all its colonies, Rwanda which was also one of Germany colonies was

and rushed to a small place he knew very well right outside the city.
Aidan knew better than to rush into a vampire lair unassisted, but there was no time for carefully laid
out plans now. He was preparing for this raid for the two weeks he has been away from Megan, and he
knew the entries and exists. That s all he needs now to get inland get her out safely, anything else is to

Aidan got to the big warehouse situated deep into that deserted neighborhood in 20 minutes. Although
the building is quite big, it s impossible to spot anything is going on inside. Vampires made sure their
lair remains hidden from everyone, but always in plain sight, where they could have access to food
and play in minutes.
Aidan quickly proceeded with the first part of his old plan. He emptied a bag of blood making a noise
at a close enough distance from the lair, and waited, hidden. When the door opened, he snuck in, only
to be faced with a gang of smiling vampires. Hello. We have been expecting you, Doggie, said one of
them.
Aidan instinctively growled at the gang, who stood there giggling. Their colleagues who have been

Juxtaposition In The General Prologue
Geoffrey Chaucer s poem, The General Prologue, presents a character whom is a Prioresse. Because
of the culture during the medieval times the description of the Prioresse that is given is interestingly
contradicting. The juxtaposition that exists throughout the entire description of the Prioresse builds a
tone of doubt. While it is expected that the Prioresse be pious and fully devoted to the monastery the
text doesn t prove her loyalty, in fact, it discredits it. Although the Prioresse s portrayal in the text is
full of delicacy and well mannered behavior, the juxtaposition following the delicate description nulls
her goodness. This contradiction exposes the Prioresse s true nature which does not meet the
expectations, creating a critical tone of leadership positions in the church during this time. From the
beginning the narrator establishes the role the nun, revealing the weight of meaning this description
holds. The narrator starts his description by stating the identity of the nun as a Prioresse, Ther was also
a Nonne,a Prioresse (118), this first statement highlights the position the nun holds as a leader giving
further importance to all description that follows. She was not a common nun or church related figure
but instead a leader of the church. The high positions she holds would influence those below her.
Additionally, her given authority creates an expectation for her to be a role model. Therefore the
impact of the effect is magnified when her given description

Fathers Should Not Be Treated
Fathers Should Not Be Treated the Same as Mothers in Deciding Family Court Cases Involving Child
Custody A major argument in contemporary debates on social issues is that mothers are often favored
in family court decisions. This favoritism is claimed to be particularly rampant on the issue of children
s custody, whereby many cases grant the custody to mothers. Here, the nurturing stereotype that
perceives a mother as a better nurturer is blamed for the cases outcome. A recent study on whether
fathers are actually discriminated against produced more controversy, as it argued that despite the fact
that less than half of the cases grant fathers some form of access to children, these cases can be
considered successful (Meyer). One would thus wonder whether there could be some factors studies
like this take into consideration to argue that the cases are nonetheless successful. Notwithstanding,
whether these factors are there or not, a keen look at the issues surrounding divorce cases show that it
would actually be unfair to treat mothers the same as fathers in family court decisions since mothers
are naturally or in default entitled more access to the children. Fathers are actually to blame for the
little or no access to children granted to them in family court decisions. This can be seen in the fact
that even before divorce is initiated or in normal family circumstances, most fathers spend way less
time with children compared to mothers. One study found that a married

The Ury et al. reading explains that a dispute resolution is used to diagnose an existing conflict,

William Cronon The Trouble With Wilderness Summary
According to William Cronon s The Trouble with Wilderness , the main concerns with the wilderness
term being humanly constructed and lack of concern with the local environments. Cronon emphasize
much of the historical and philological meanings of wilderness as a human construct via spiritual and
religious perspectives. He desired for people stop putting so much emphasis on the above and beyond
that is out of our reach and focus on the present. He pushed this into the idea of one should start
putting emphasis and care into one s own environment rather than just focusing on environments
beyond the local one. He believes change should start locally. I agree with his concern of people
always looking to help those not local to them, and they do tend to not realize the help they can do
locally as well. This concern easily applies to public health, where many seek to go overseas when
they fail to realize how much help is needed locally or nationally. I also agree with how historically,
people have changed their views on nature and the wilderness as this was often discussed in art
history. However, I find that his view on the wilderness connotations are quite subjective. He viewed
wilderness through human eyes as it is a culture we created and that we seek to conserve nature for
selfish reasons to satisfy our romantic ideals: whether it be recreational sites, religious icons, spiritual
healing, masculinity ideals, a place of paradise and escape, primitive ideals or for the

The Godfather Character Analysis Essay
The old saying, Behind every great man is a great woman, is true in the case of Michael Corleone, the
son of Don Vito Corleone of The Godfather. The film focuses on the story of Michael and how he
changes from a respectable, educated Marine to the ringleader of his father s mafia business. In
between the drastic turn of events, Michael has two love interests, both of which have a large, yet
quiet, impact on his life. Kay Adams, the first of the two love interests, is the average American
woman. She is educated, smart, and possibly a bit too liberated for a female of that time period, but
she is a loved character because of this. Kay s relationship with Michael started before the movie and
they seem to enjoy a pleasant romance and friendship, but it is put on hold when Michael goes to
Sicily to evade charges of a murder he committed. The second of the love interests is Apollonia Vitelli,
a Sicilian native whom Michael met when he was in hiding in Italy. She was the complete opposite of
Kay and was raised by a traditional Italian family. I think you got hit by the thunderbolt, says one of
Corleone s bodyguards when Michael sees Apollonia for the first time. The two are in love and soon
married, though it is short lived when a bomb meant for Michael is ignited and kills Apollonia.
Michael then returns to his home in New York and pursues a relationship and marriage with Kay

Mechanical And Transport Properties Of Cellular Solids
Abstract This work presents a novel formulation for a Voronoi type cellular material with in plane
anisotropic behaviour, showing global positive and negative Poisson s ratio effects under uniaxial
tensile loading. The effects of the cell geometry and relative density over the global stiffness,
equivalent in plane Poisson s ratios and shear modulus of the Voronoi type structure are evaluated with
a parametric analysis. Empirical formulas are identified to reproduce the mechanical trends of the
equivalent homogeneous orthotropic material representing the Voronoi type structure and its geometry
parameters. Keywords Lattice structures; Elastic behaviour; Simulation; Finite element analysis 1.
Introduction The mechanical and transport properties of cellular solids have been traditionally
modeled using periodic unit cells representative volumes. Examples of these unit cell topologies are
the hexagonal prismatic and quadrilateral centrosymmetric ones (Gibson and Ashby, 1997), Kelvin
lattices (Choi and Lakes, 1995, Zhu et al., 1997, Warren and Kraynik, 1997, Mills, 2005, Gong et al.,
2005 and Weaire, 2008). The level of disorder associated to the shape and orientation of cells
belonging to real open cell foams has been described numerically by making use of Voronoi diagrams
(Kraynik et al., 2003). Voronoi tessellations create one to one optimal (i.e., minimum distance)

Ideas In Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Language is fundamental when it comes to building relationships and putting ideas into action. Buffy
the Vampire Slayer features several themes that are difficult to notice immediately because of how

the fictional town of Sunnydale have their voices taken away by demons who are called the

defeat the demons and get their voices back. The episode exemplifies the notion that pressure allows

Notorious Jumping Frog
1. The educational aspect portrayed in this text The Notorious Jumping Frog , was made very clear.
Mark Twain brilliantly allowed the readers to see a difference between Easterners and Westerners
through educated and uneducated diction. The narrator s tone and choice of words used at the
beginning of the text, revealed to me that he has academia background. The narrator stated, I called on
good natured, garrulous old Simon Wheeler... (Twain 121). When using the word garrulous, when in
terms simply means chatty, right away this led me to think the narrator s vocabulary was extensive.
The narrator also carried a certain persona about himself, a persona of patience and self control, being
that he sat and listened to the very chatty Simon Wheeler s without interrupting. ... Show more content

Unlike the narrator, Simon Wheeler s dialect and description of Jim Smiley was not so much formal.
He used westernized slang words such as feller and thish er when telling the story of Jimmy Smiley to

background where survival by any means possible was the motto for life. Any means possible,
meaning doing bizarre things that to another would seem classless. Mark Twain depicted Smiley as a
man simply trying to make best out of life. It was perceived that formal education was not prevalent in
his surroundings and street hustling was the way of life, perhaps passed on from previous generations.
Overall, Twain was able to show the readers a distinct difference between Easternized and

1. Introduction Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the world accounting for 17.5
million people, or more than 30% of all deaths. Atherosclerosis leads to coronary artery disease, which
is a manifestation of ischemic heart disease [1,2]. When an artery narrows, or becomes blocked,
intervention is required to restore normal blood flow. In patients with multi vessel coronary artery
disease, coronary artery bypass graft surgery in generally accepted as a better method due to the
greater risk of developing recurrent ischemic events. However, in those with a single vessel
obstruction, the non surgical procedure known as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been
shown to be as effective in treating stenosis [2]. PCI is achieved using balloon angioplasty, which was
first introduced in 1977 [1]. 1.1 Bare Metal Stents (BMS) By the mid 1980 s, bare metal stents (BMS)
were developed to overcome the limitations of balloon angioplasty [1]. Coronary stents are metal
lattices that hold the vessel open, which prevents recoil following angioplasty [2]. They are delivered
using a catheter mounted balloon inserted either in the brachial or femoral artery, which is then
threaded to the site of blockage in the coronary artery. The balloon is inflated, and the stent is released
covering the stenosed lesion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Out of 744 cases, eight main reasons for using BMS were found to be: large vessel diameter (32.4%);
ST segment elevation MIs (17.7%); reimbursement/other reasons (9.4%); advanced age (12.4%);
concomitant oral coagulant treatment (11.3%); increased bleeding risk, cancer, or anemia (9.5%);
planned surgery within 12 months (5.5%); and anticipated poor dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT)
compliance (1.7%). Patients often receive BMS over DES to avoid long term DAPT; this reduces
treatment from 1 year for DES to 1 month for BMS

Research Problem: Is the spread of Dengue Fever being effectively controlled? If so how?
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2012, September). Prevention: How to reduce your risk
of dengue infection. Retrieved from http://www.cdc.gov/dengue/prevention/
Summary: Although there is no vaccine, or medication for dengue fever there are several precautions
that can be made to help reduce the number of dengue fever cases that occur. The best way to reduce
these cases is to avoid getting bitten by mosquitoes (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The number of mosquitoes increases with warmer temperatures and higher levels of rainfall, therefore
there would be a rise in dengue fever cases. This article argues that although basic practices play a role
in the outbreak, climate factors play an even greater role. The higher the temperatures the more likely
persons are to store water. These are ideal conditions for mosquitoes to lay their eggs. This study
showed that Caribbean Islands experienced an increase in the temperature by more than 0.5 degrees
during 1900 1955 (Environmental Management Authority, (n.d). Also, if society does not cooperate
with health personnel and take action starting with their immediate surroundings, then the efforts to
contain this virus will not be successful.
Reflection: This source is very helpful to me because it gives more than one view which I can use in
my research essay. This article helped shape my argument because it not only gave the basic
precautions for controlling the outbreak of dengue fever, it also stressed that the environment
contributes greatly to this problem. Overall, this article gave me a different view on the topic which I

Conflict Resolution Was Created By Jeff Muir Essay
Summary
Conflict Resolution was created by Jeff Muir. The main idea revolves around the idea that conflict
occurs when one needs something from another and is not receiving that need. The resolution of
conflicts grows out of that idea, and involves three basic steps. The first step circles around clearly
expressing the need. The next step is figuring out if that need can be met, or if it cannot. Step three is
negotiation to see if the need can be met a different way, or management of conflict. If the need can be
met, then conflict resolution has been reached, and there is no need for step three. If not, then the third
step is needed. The third step can go one of two ways; negotiation or conflict management.
Negotiation is the prefered way because the need is acknowledged and a different path is found.
Conflict management is worse because it involves avoidance or aggressive behaviors like the silent
treatment or harmful gossip.
Problems manifest when people skip step one and step two by jumping straight to conflict
management. People cannot jump to negotiation because a keystone of negotiation is knowing what
need is to be negotiated. If the need is not expressed, then people can only jump to conflict
management. One reason why people may not express their need is because they are scared and refuse
to open up to those who could help. Another reason is because the need is too hard or personal to
express by themselves. If that is the reason, then a mediator is suggested to

America Is Not Universally Free Essay
America is not universally free. This is easily proven with examples from a variety of subjects. For
example, take LGBT rights. De jure, gay marriage is legal nationwide. But de facto, when one looks at
the social reality dealt with by people who are not heterosexual, one finds that not everyone has the
realistic ability to do so. Even on a de jure level, there are the bathroom bills, passed by North
Carolina and looked at by many states, designed to limit transgender people s ability to use the
bathroom. But even if one deals with that, and all of the other issues of systematic discrimination
faced by modern America race, class, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc. on both a de jure
and de facto level, America would still not be universally free. What do I mean by this? Well, firstly I
need to be entirely clear about what I mean by freedom. The Oxford English Dictionary defines
freedom as the state or fact of being free from servitude, constraint, inhibition, etc.; liberty. This is
true; however, any reasonable person can determine that that does not even begin to cover what
freedom really means. There is emotional value in the word that simply cannot be captured by such a
clinical definition. When I say freedom, what I really mean is the reasonable ability to make choices
about one s own actions and one s own life. This does not have to be free from consequence, but it has
to be a reasonable possibility on a de facto level. What exactly a

Henry Ford Biography Essay
Before 1907 when Henry Ford installed the first assembly line, the early 20th century provided
automobiles for mostly the rich as a showing of keeping up with the Jonseses. The car models were
mostly complicated machines which mostly required a chauffeur knowledgeable on how to operate the
complex automobile. The invention helped reduce a four men work to a one men power. It first took
around more than 12 hours to build one car to 2 hours and about 30 minutes. Henry Ford said that by

were to offer the bankers who wanted to invest in his company that would offer dealer franchises. This
required the franchise dealers to pay for the automobiles when they were received instead of when
they were sold. This helped him have additional capital to expand his manufacturing enterprise, invest

character of the officers to whom the financial status and reports of the company are entrusted
(Jennings, 2005, p. 44 45). One measurement that can be used is a look into their personal lives. An
evaluation of the private conduct of the executive can often prove to be insightful and a predictor of

The Leadership Styles Of Leadership
Leadership is a concept most people feel informed enough to discuss, but that few are truly educated
sufficiently to comment on. Therefore, it is instructive to consider the leadership styles of people with
very different approaches both to better understand the diversity underlying leadership, as well as to
appreciate the effective and less effective strategies that underlie different leadership outcomes. For
that reason, this essay will consider the styles of two leaders who are less visible in this highly
contentious presidential election season: Jill Stein (the Green Party nominee) and Gary Johnson, the
Libertarian candidate. The leadership styles of both are very different, yet they are aligned in the sense
that both are outsider candidates struggling to gain momentum from a disaffected electorate. This
essay begins with a theoretical discussion of leadership more generally and then turns to the two
leaders as case studies, comparing and contrasting them and drawing conclusions about how they both
work within the same public sphere and for putatively similar ends (i.e., gaining votes). Leadership,
according to theorist John Kotter, ...is about... coping with change (Kotter, 1990, p. 4). By this
definition, one should consider leadership to be the product of change in context and the ways in
which the response to this change informs strategy. Leadership is...a set of traits, qualities and
behavior possessed by the leader that encourage the participation, development, and

Old World versus New World
The Old World wine industry, centered on France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Germany, was
characterized by long standing traditions of wine production, industry fragmentation, high levels of
regulation from production to labeling and marketing, and strong domestic markets. Most Old World
wines were made from a blend of different grapes and were named after the growing regions
themselves, such as Bordeaux, Chianti, or Rioja, which resulted in considerable complexity of
designation for example, the French regulatory system included 450 different apellations d origine
controlées (AOCs, or registered origin names). The Old World philosophy of wine production was
based on the importance of terroir (terrain), which assumed that every vineyard was unique because of
differences including soil, microclimate, topography, and the skill and practices of the winemaker. The
New World wine industry, dominated by Australia, the United States, South Africa, Chile, and
Argentina, was more concentrated and more focused on exports. In addition, the lack of stringent
regulation in the New World had spurred innovation in production processes and a more scientific

Benefit Of Technology In Society
Technology and Its Benefits Human Society
Technology is a beautiful thing and very beneficial to carrying out our daily lives. The internet lets us
develop application software where we can train our brains, entertain ourselves, and communicate
with almost anybody from anywhere in the world. Technology has also advanced so much that we are
creating robots to take over dangerous human jobs, and satellites to track the development of our solar
system. Most people use some type of technology in their life everyday whether it be a cellphone,
computer at work or even a watch to tell time. All of these aspects can surely have downsides, but they
do not amount to the number of beneficial opportunities that each provide to our daily lives.
Technology affects society tremendously and is definitely beneficial when looking at how it has
advanced over the years to improve the daily lives of the human society.
One of the most positive aspects of creating cellular technology is the fact that it helps build
relationships whether it be a simple phone call or an application of some sort such as a social media
platform. Cellular connection is detrimental in staying connected with the rest of society as it provides
us with speedy access and convenience to update us on our peer s lives, also it helps us keep up news
and what is going on in the media these days, and it helps people in job fields to maintain their

A major key element in the film comprises of settings. It is where the actions takes place and helps
viewers to understand where and when the film is set. Settings not only create mood, it has social,
psychological, emotional and cultural significance in which the film are able to portray. Settings used
in the film are very rarely just backgrounds to the characters dialogue. Viewers are often seen shots of
places, without any action taking place. They can be used to influence viewers by building certain
expectations and then the actions takes a different turn. Gibbs (2002) mention that, Mise en scene

For example, the scene where Mrs. Chan goes to get noodles where she is seen to be walking along a

The Effects Of Family Systems On Healthy Development
The Affects of Family Systems on Healthy Development
Relationship between Family Systems and Development Family systems are essential to the healthy
development of a child. Family systems and development go hand in hand. Children who come from a
healthy family system are more likely to have a healthy development. Children who come from an
unhealthy family system are more likely to have an unhealthy development. According to David V.
Papero (2014), Murray Bowen developed a family systems theory, called the Bowen theory, to
distinguish it from other systems theories (p. 386). Papero (2014) goes on to say that, the theory
proposes that emotional, physical, relational, and social symptoms in a person or set of relationships
reflect disturbances in the family relationship system itself (p. 386). It is vitally important for parents
and other caregivers to help their children develop in a healthy manner. Although there might be some
disturbances in a family system, the disturbance should not take precedent over the healthy
development of a child. Healthy development occurs when a child comes from a healthy family
system where the children has one or two people in their lives who will take time to invest in them and
care for them. Healthy family systems are critical to healthy development. Development starts in
infancy and continues through adulthood (Broderick Blewitt, 2015, p. 20). As a result, it is important
for caregivers to help children develop in a healthy manner.

Colonial Avoidance Of Duties
How did the British attempt to handle colonial avoidance of duties? While reading chapter I found
myself comparing America to a teenage girl and Britain to a mother who is struggling to keep her
child undercontrol. I think I felt this way because America really hated being told what to do by their
mother country. The catalyst that eventually led to the eroding relationship between the two entities
really was the French and Indian War because Britain was left with a giant debt while America was
left with the satisfaction of winning and more land than ever. Britain called for stricter rule of colonial
lands this angers the colonists because they believe these actions go against their rights as English
citizens. Britain first tried to rein in control with the Proclamation of 1763 which prohibited white
settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains. They followed this with the Quartering Acts which
required all colonists to provide supplies and barracks for soldiers. This really infuriated colonists who
in turn acted like teenagers. They paid no mind to what Britain proclaimed and moved to those lands
anyway. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Examples Of Ghost In Hamlet
Hamlet: Belief of Ghost from a Psychological Perspective Psychological factors can be seen as the
reason people believe in ghost. It could be because their minds have the concept of ghost wired into

psychological tendencies, such as depression and dissociation, which make them think they have seen

In Are Ghost Concepts Intuitive, Endemic and Innate ? by Pascal Boyer, Boyer explores the reasons

pinnacle of rapid development and robust growth. Despite the efforts of notable city planners such as
Sir Ebenezer Howard, Peter Calthorpe and Andres Duany the potential of true sustainable
development has not been realized by the majority of urban cities. The inevitable question asserts how
cities can continue growth and development while corroborating the triple bottom line as a framework
for virtually every city.
The urban city by modern definition is characterized by a broken community structure, dangerous
high density, and a lack of sustainable design. The city of Orlando Florida is a quintessential example
of a city designed not on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Education
At the foundation of every issue in the broad scope of sustainability is a fundamental lack of proper
environmental education as an individual, which ultimately permeates into all of society. The
education referred to here is not simply the standardized tests, memorizing and essays of the modern
day classroom but the education, which takes place at home. As children, there is a universal myth that
has been passed down since the golden age of the industrial revolution. This idea of the American
dream informs virtually every decision Americans make and how society is structured. Simply put:
Get an education, get a Job, have children, acquire wealth, capital and leave a legacy before you die.
The fundamental problem with this is that there is no mention of our most basic responsibility, as
environmental stewards. In short this anthropocentric paradigm acts a rearguard for sustainable
development and begins as early as the conception of language in a child s life.
Over the course of the next 15 years there are very simple yet, crucial strategies that must be in place
to amend not the foundational goals of America or the American dream but rather, the means of
achieving it. This calls first for a new approach to the environmental movement: disregard everything
that has been labeled and stigmatized as environmentalism. Instead the education infrastructure must

Abstract Mobile marketing can be made more personalized through Mobile Personalized Marketing
(MPM). Customers now expect content to be more personalized and relevant, and marketing
technology has risen to meet the challenges. Due to the ubiquity, interactivity and localization of
mobile devices, the customer contextual information ((i.e) the environment where a customer is
located) identifies the needs of customer and offer product services by understanding the customer s
preferences. Existing work focused on contexts of mobile users and their activities for better
predicting customer preferences. In existing, only limited numbers of dimensions are considered to
predict the user preferences. It cannot precisely predict about people s daily activities, which could be
extremely difficult due to the inherent randomness of human behavior. The proposed work focuses on
the number of dimension combination to be increased for each event with respect to context and
action rule of a user. User clustering is constructed and similarities between the users are also
evaluated for prediction of mobile behaviors with considerations of user relation. Personalized

Us Foreign Policy Analysis
Q 7 Discuss the Foreign policy making in USA in current Scenario.
BACKGROUND
The USA exercises its foreign policy through financial aid. For example, scarcity relief in North Korea
provides not only humanitarian aid but also a base for the development of democratic ideals and
bodies.
George Washington s Farewell Speech in 1789 enclosed one major piece of advice to the state
regarding relations with other nations: avoid entangling alliances. Those words designed USA foreign
policy for more than a century.
Today some Americans consider that Washington s words are still wise ones, and that the USA should
take away from world affairs whenever possible. In fact, , the US has been involved in world politics
throughout the 20th century, and as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Who Makes Foreign Policy?
Henry Kissinger work for as National Security Adviser and Secretary of State under Presidents Nixon
and Ford. He was a key figure in uttering U.S. foreign policy during the Cold War, and remains one of
the leading authorities on international relations and diplomacy.
As with all policy making, many people and organizations have a hand in setting United States foreign
policy. The main goals of foreign policy is to use diplomacy or talking, meeting, and creating
agreements to solve international issues. They try to keep problems from developing into conflicts that
require military settlements.
The President almost always has the primary obligation for affecting foreign policy. Presidents, or
their representatives, meet with leaders of other nations to try to resolve international issues
peacefully. According to the Constitution, Presidents sign treaties with other nations with the advice
and approval of the Senate. So the Senate, and to a lesser extent, the House of Representatives, also
contribute in shaping foreign policy.

  • 2. Definition Essay On Open Relationships Have you found yourself asking, What is an open relationship or Are we in an open relationship? If so, hopefully it isn t because you agreed to such a relationship without understanding what it really means. If you and your partner want to have a successful relationship (open or not), it s absolutely critical to have clarity on your expectations of each other. This is rarely more important than when committing to a non traditional arrangement. Okay... back to the question. What exactly does it mean to have a relationship that s open? The complicated thing is that the term has different meanings to different people, so take a look at some of these categories and come to a finite agreement with your partner on some open relationship rules. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A relationship like this may or may not include full disclosure. In some cases, the faithful partner accepts that there will be outside relationships but doesn t want to discuss it at all. Swinging One of the more controversial types of open relationships is the swinger lifestyle. In an open relationship that includes couples dating others, there is often a focus on togetherness in the affairs. In some cases, the couple dates other couples; however, there are many cases where the couple adds a single third party to the relationship. The primary relationship comes first, but both partners are open to fully disclosed outside relationships. • 3. Drugs Cocaine and crack are among the most addictive substances known to modern science, and they have already ruined the lives of millions of Americans (Morganthau and Miller, 208). Cocaine and crack are both dangerous, harmful drugs. Though pleasurable effects can be obtained from these drugs, the use of crack and cocaine cannot be worth the actual consequences that are inflicted on mind and body. The bad effects of these drugs, by far outweigh the good. Because crack and cocaine are so closely related, it is important to have a firm understanding of both drugs. Cocaine (coke) is made from the Erythroxylon coca plant, a coca tree that grows high in the Andes Mountains of South America. The coca farmers purpose is to pick and ... This solution is then heated, the ether evaporated, and leaves freebase cocaine which is then smokes (Zonderman and Shader, 65). This process is called cooking . The crack residue is a solid crystalline substance that is broken into chips or pieces resembling gravel (Edwards, 76). Crack is the smokable form of cocaine, and can only be taken into the body by smoking it. Smoking crack cocaine introduces it into the system faster than other methods (Zonderman and Shader, 660. To smoke it, the crystalline chips are either put into a glass pipe and smoked, or crushed and smoked in a marijuana joint. The chips change to smoke when heated, which is inhaled, drawn into the lungs, and then diffused rapidly into the bloodstream (Edwards, 77). The little sacs of the lungs are lined with fatty tissue that readily absorbs the fat soluble crack (Mickey, 2). Circulating blood transports the dissolved cocaine to the brain where it has immediate effect (Edwards, 77). Crack reaches the brain within seven seconds (Mickey, 2). The effect, called a rush, is caused by the almost pure cocaine s assault on the brain and central nervous system. The central nervous system responds by involuntary movement of the muscles, increased body temperature, and an overstimulation of the pleasure centers of the brain. The high ... • 6. Postmodernism Has Changed The Representation Of Women This literature review will explore how and to what extent postmodernism has changed the representation of women in images. Postmodernism was a time period after modernism, being at the centre of culture. What is to be regarded as postmodern, those things that are seen to occur as natural are in fact shaped by humans, thus making it cultural. Postmodernism was brought as a result from the 1960 s onwards, being a reaction against anti realism modernism. Feminist artists and theorists have combined postmodernism with their own work in order to bring forth the ideas surrounding that of, how cultural forms or representation within the mass media are based around particular ideologies. When referring to representation, when linking this with the works of the theories brought about by postmodernism, how we see ourselves and how we construct the notions of ourselves are through the structure of available images. Feminist theory points to how the construction of gender is an effect of representation. The representation of women in images during the postmodern era, could merit further investigation in order to inform of how women from all over the world have been represented, whether it be regarding their race, nationality, age or sexuality. Using a variety of texts, the main debates regarding this topic will be explored through critiquing selected theorists in order to develop upon my own research. Essay on Fire Imagery in Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre Fire Imagery in Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre Incomplete Works Cited The prevalence of fire imagery and it s multitude of metaphoric uses in Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre expresses two things that could not be expressed openly in the Victorian Period, which are mainly passion and sexuality. Brontes writing was dictated by the morals of her society, but her ideas were not. Jane Eyre was written with the Victorian reader in mind. Bronte knew that if she were to write about these two things directly she would have to face possible rejection of her book. A resolution to this dilemma was to awaken the audience in a way that society deemed not only respectable, but also acceptable. So Bronte creates Jane, and Jane becomes the embodiment of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this passage from the novel, Jane begins to understand what will become of her if she gives into the consuming passion that she often feels: A ridge of lighted heath, alive, glancing, devouring, would have been a great emblem of my mind when I accused and menaced Mrs. Reed; the same ridge, black and blasted after the flames are dead, would have represented as meetly my subsequent condition. (69; ch. 4) Bronte takes the fire and transforms it to illustrate the image of sexuality and passion. By doing this, she also proposes the way in which internalized feelings of opposing ideas give into self depleting energy through the loss of self control. Here, Jane has the fear of becoming like Mrs. Reed. She comes to the realization that if this is not what she wants to be like, then she must keep her passions under control. Otherwise, she could become black and blasted after the flames have died. This is presented to embody what Victorian society believed to be true and is a fine example of everything that it despises, which is namely the expression of passion. The fulfillment of self becomes the foundation of society s views, on which the fears of women and their passionate behaviors are laid. Indeed, fire and tumult are major themes within the novel, but these images also invade Victorian arguments pertaining to a women s place in society, and the possible consequences that could occur if a women ... • 8. The Discovery Of Mount Everest Over nine thousand people died and thousands were displaced when an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.1 hit Nepal in April 2015. Consequently, this earthquake triggered the deadliest event in the history of Mount Everest when an avalanche killed 19 people two weeks later (1). This tragedy was caused by two pieces of the planet s crust that have been colliding for millions of years now. Moreover, this collision is based on the scientific theory of plate tectonics that cases the large scale motion of the planet s lithosphere. The same theory also explains how Mount Everest, a part of the Himalayas, was affected. Nepal s seismic nature and the Himalayas are connected through the collision of the Indian Plate and the Eurasian plate. First and foremost, plate tectonic theory deals with the idea that lithospheric plates or tectonic plates move around the crust. Tectonic plates are slabs of the Earth s lithosphere which is a combination of the crust and uppermost mantle. The lithosphere is characterized by its rigid and cooler nature. On the other hand, the asthenosphere is hotter and more viscous and lies beneath the lithosphere. Together, the lithosphere and the asthenosphere makes up the outer layers of the Earth. These two layers are really important because the rigid pieces of the lithosphere ride on the viscosity of the asthenosphere (2). As previously mentioned, the Nepal earthquake was caused collision of these plates and it has numerous underlying factors that started ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Use Of Nanopolymers For Biomedical Purposes Statement of the problem: The driving forces behind this work are related to the increased use of nanopolymers for biomedical purposes. Charged and neutral polymers are routinely used for gene and drug delivery. However, limited studies are performed to test their safety. Therefore, the originality of this work lies in its attempt to evaluate the toxicity of three widely used polymers for delivery of chemotherapeutic agents. Furthermore, we aim to establish efficient methods for nanotoxicity testing through comparing the results of three different models ( 2D, 3D invitro cell cultures and invivo zebrafish embryo)preparing these materials for clinical application. Abstract Nanomaterials exhibit a wide range of applications in different aspects of human life . In biomedical fields, nanoparticles are packaged into different nanocarriers for drug and gene delivery especially for improving the delivery of chemotherapeutic agents to tumors. However, no sufficient data that detect their toxicity. In the present study, the toxicity of three different polymers that represent promising drug carriers will be evaluated using 2D, 3D cell cultures and zebrafish embryos. The polymers to be studie include the well known cationic transfection agents Poly(ethylenimine) (PEI) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) for their established cytotoxicity as well as the uncharged drug carrier material pHPMA (i.e. poly(N 2 hydroxypropyl) methacrylamide), Poly(ethylene glycol) b poly(N (2 hydroxypropyl) ... This word is derived from a combination of a Greek word genos ( race or tribe ) and a Latin word cide ( killing ). In 1994, in the beginning of April, the same has happened in Rwanda. A genocide. Before the colonial period in Rwanda, there were three classifications of people. Hutus, who made up the majority of the population 84%, Tutsi who were only 17% and Twa who only made up 1%. Hutus were from less privileged families and were cultivators, Tutsis were cattle herders and from rich families, and Twa were potters and were outshined by the other groups (Stapleton 28). However, these classifications were based on the number of cattle people owned. People who owned 10 cows or more were considered Tutsi and people with less than 10 cows were considered Hutu. People could shift from being a Hutu to a Tutsi or vice versa depending on the number of cattle they had. Before colonization Tutsis and Hutus lived peacefully (Warren 19). During the colonial period tensions from all corners, politically, educationally and socially were created such that hatred and violence was harbored in Hutus and they decided to eliminate fellow Rwandese, Tutsis. • 12. Juxtaposition In The General Prologue Geoffrey Chaucer s poem, The General Prologue, presents a character whom is a Prioresse. Because of the culture during the medieval times the description of the Prioresse that is given is interestingly contradicting. The juxtaposition that exists throughout the entire description of the Prioresse builds a tone of doubt. While it is expected that the Prioresse be pious and fully devoted to the monastery the text doesn t prove her loyalty, in fact, it discredits it. Although the Prioresse s portrayal in the text is full of delicacy and well mannered behavior, the juxtaposition following the delicate description nulls her goodness. This contradiction exposes the Prioresse s true nature which does not meet the expectations, creating a critical tone of leadership positions in the church during this time. From the beginning the narrator establishes the role the nun, revealing the weight of meaning this description holds. The narrator starts his description by stating the identity of the nun as a Prioresse, Ther was also a Nonne,a Prioresse (118), this first statement highlights the position the nun holds as a leader giving further importance to all description that follows. She was not a common nun or church related figure but instead a leader of the church. The high positions she holds would influence those below her. • 13. Fathers Should Not Be Treated Fathers Should Not Be Treated the Same as Mothers in Deciding Family Court Cases Involving Child Custody A major argument in contemporary debates on social issues is that mothers are often favored in family court decisions. This favoritism is claimed to be particularly rampant on the issue of children s custody, whereby many cases grant the custody to mothers. Here, the nurturing stereotype that perceives a mother as a better nurturer is blamed for the cases outcome. A recent study on whether fathers are actually discriminated against produced more controversy, as it argued that despite the fact that less than half of the cases grant fathers some form of access to children, these cases can be considered successful (Meyer). One would thus wonder whether there could be some factors studies like this take into consideration to argue that the cases are nonetheless successful. Notwithstanding, whether these factors are there or not, a keen look at the issues surrounding divorce cases show that it would actually be unfair to treat mothers the same as fathers in family court decisions since mothers are naturally or in default entitled more access to the children. Fathers are actually to blame for the little or no access to children granted to them in family court decisions. This can be seen in the fact that even before divorce is initiated or in normal family circumstances, most fathers spend way less time with children compared to mothers. One study found that a married ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

William Cronon The Trouble With Wilderness Summary According to William Cronon s The Trouble with Wilderness , the main concerns with the wilderness term being humanly constructed and lack of concern with the local environments. Cronon emphasize much of the historical and philological meanings of wilderness as a human construct via spiritual and religious perspectives. He desired for people stop putting so much emphasis on the above and beyond that is out of our reach and focus on the present. He pushed this into the idea of one should start putting emphasis and care into one s own environment rather than just focusing on environments beyond the local one. He believes change should start locally. I agree with his concern of people always looking to help those not local to them, and they do tend to not realize the help they can do locally as well. This concern easily applies to public health, where many seek to go overseas when they fail to realize how much help is needed locally or nationally. I also agree with how historically, people have changed their views on nature and the wilderness as this was often discussed in art history. However, I find that his view on the wilderness connotations are quite subjective. He viewed wilderness through human eyes as it is a culture we created and that we seek to conserve nature for selfish reasons to satisfy our romantic ideals: whether it be recreational sites, religious icons, spiritual healing, masculinity ideals, a place of paradise and escape, primitive ideals or for the ... The film focuses on the story of Michael and how he changes from a respectable, educated Marine to the ringleader of his father s mafia business. In between the drastic turn of events, Michael has two love interests, both of which have a large, yet quiet, impact on his life. Kay Adams, the first of the two love interests, is the average American woman. She is educated, smart, and possibly a bit too liberated for a female of that time period, but she is a loved character because of this. Kay s relationship with Michael started before the movie and they seem to enjoy a pleasant romance and friendship, but it is put on hold when Michael goes to Sicily to evade charges of a murder he committed. The second of the love interests is Apollonia Vitelli, a Sicilian native whom Michael met when he was in hiding in Italy. She was the complete opposite of Kay and was raised by a traditional Italian family. The effects of the cell geometry and relative density over the global stiffness, equivalent in plane Poisson s ratios and shear modulus of the Voronoi type structure are evaluated with a parametric analysis. Empirical formulas are identified to reproduce the mechanical trends of the equivalent homogeneous orthotropic material representing the Voronoi type structure and its geometry parameters. Keywords Lattice structures; Elastic behaviour; Simulation; Finite element analysis 1. Introduction The mechanical and transport properties of cellular solids have been traditionally modeled using periodic unit cells representative volumes. Examples of these unit cell topologies are the hexagonal prismatic and quadrilateral centrosymmetric ones (Gibson and Ashby, 1997), Kelvin lattices (Choi and Lakes, 1995, Zhu et al., 1997, Warren and Kraynik, 1997, Mills, 2005, Gong et al., 2005 and Weaire, 2008). Atherosclerosis leads to coronary artery disease, which is a manifestation of ischemic heart disease [1,2]. When an artery narrows, or becomes blocked, intervention is required to restore normal blood flow. In patients with multi vessel coronary artery disease, coronary artery bypass graft surgery in generally accepted as a better method due to the greater risk of developing recurrent ischemic events. However, in those with a single vessel obstruction, the non surgical procedure known as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been shown to be as effective in treating stenosis [2]. PCI is achieved using balloon angioplasty, which was first introduced in 1977 [1]. 1.1 Bare Metal Stents (BMS) By the mid 1980 s, bare metal stents (BMS) were developed to overcome the limitations of balloon angioplasty [1]. Coronary stents are metal lattices that hold the vessel open, which prevents recoil following angioplasty [2]. The resolution of conflicts grows out of that idea, and involves three basic steps. The first step circles around clearly expressing the need. The next step is figuring out if that need can be met, or if it cannot. Step three is negotiation to see if the need can be met a different way, or management of conflict. If the need can be met, then conflict resolution has been reached, and there is no need for step three. If not, then the third step is needed. The third step can go one of two ways; negotiation or conflict management. Negotiation is the prefered way because the need is acknowledged and a different path is found. Conflict management is worse because it involves avoidance or aggressive behaviors like the silent treatment or harmful gossip. Problems manifest when people skip step one and step two by jumping straight to conflict management. People cannot jump to negotiation because a keystone of negotiation is knowing what need is to be negotiated. If the need is not expressed, then people can only jump to conflict management. One reason why people may not express their need is because they are scared and refuse to open up to those who could help. Another reason is because the need is too hard or personal to express by themselves. If that is the reason, then a mediator is suggested to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. America Is Not Universally Free Essay America is not universally free. This is easily proven with examples from a variety of subjects. For example, take LGBT rights. De jure, gay marriage is legal nationwide. But de facto, when one looks at the social reality dealt with by people who are not heterosexual, one finds that not everyone has the realistic ability to do so. Even on a de jure level, there are the bathroom bills, passed by North Carolina and looked at by many states, designed to limit transgender people s ability to use the bathroom. But even if one deals with that, and all of the other issues of systematic discrimination faced by modern America race, class, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc. on both a de jure and de facto level, America would still not be universally free. What do I mean by this? Well, firstly I need to be entirely clear about what I mean by freedom. The Oxford English Dictionary defines freedom as the state or fact of being free from servitude, constraint, inhibition, etc.; liberty. This is true; however, any reasonable person can determine that that does not even begin to cover what freedom really means. There is emotional value in the word that simply cannot be captured by such a clinical definition. When I say freedom, what I really mean is the reasonable ability to make choices about one s own actions and one s own life. This does not have to be free from consequence, but it has to be a reasonable possibility on a de facto level. What exactly a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Leadership Styles Of Leadership Leadership is a concept most people feel informed enough to discuss, but that few are truly educated sufficiently to comment on. Therefore, it is instructive to consider the leadership styles of people with very different approaches both to better understand the diversity underlying leadership, as well as to appreciate the effective and less effective strategies that underlie different leadership outcomes. For that reason, this essay will consider the styles of two leaders who are less visible in this highly contentious presidential election season: Jill Stein (the Green Party nominee) and Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate. The leadership styles of both are very different, yet they are aligned in the sense that both are outsider candidates struggling to gain momentum from a disaffected electorate. This essay begins with a theoretical discussion of leadership more generally and then turns to the two leaders as case studies, comparing and contrasting them and drawing conclusions about how they both work within the same public sphere and for putatively similar ends (i.e., gaining votes). Leadership, according to theorist John Kotter, ...is about... coping with change (Kotter, 1990, p. 4). By this definition, one should consider leadership to be the product of change in context and the ways in which the response to this change informs strategy. The Effects Of Family Systems On Healthy Development The Affects of Family Systems on Healthy Development Relationship between Family Systems and Development Family systems are essential to the healthy development of a child. Family systems and development go hand in hand. Children who come from a healthy family system are more likely to have a healthy development. Children who come from an unhealthy family system are more likely to have an unhealthy development. According to David V. Papero (2014), Murray Bowen developed a family systems theory, called the Bowen theory, to distinguish it from other systems theories (p. 386). Papero (2014) goes on to say that, the theory proposes that emotional, physical, relational, and social symptoms in a person or set of relationships reflect disturbances in the family relationship system itself (p. 386). It is vitally important for parents and other caregivers to help their children develop in a healthy manner. Although there might be some disturbances in a family system, the disturbance should not take precedent over the healthy development of a child. Healthy development occurs when a child comes from a healthy family system where the children has one or two people in their lives who will take time to invest in them and care for them. Healthy family systems are critical to healthy development. Development starts in infancy and continues through adulthood (Broderick Blewitt, 2015, p. 20). As a result, it is important for caregivers to help children develop in a healthy manner. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As children, there is a universal myth that has been passed down since the golden age of the industrial revolution. This idea of the American dream informs virtually every decision Americans make and how society is structured. Simply put: Get an education, get a Job, have children, acquire wealth, capital and leave a legacy before you die.
