Total Quality Management ( Tqm )
Total Quality Management (TQM) is a systematic approach that organizations take in order to
implement constant organizational improvements. There are 8 essential points that help an
organization achieve it TQM goals: Training, executive management, Customer Focus, Decision
Making, Methodology Tools, Continuous Improvements, Company Culture and Employee
Involvement. It is important for any modern organization to understand the importance of TQM as
consumers demand better products and services. TQM can differentiate an organization and can give it
a competitive advantage.
A key author in the study of TQM Dr W. Edwards Deming derived 14 points for management
philosophy for management. Deming was influential in Japan when companies like Toyota, Sony and
Fuji adopted his techniques. This led to a rise in demand for Japanese products that represent what
TQM is all about.
Innocent Drinks was founded in 1999 and since then has grown to command 75% of the UK smoothie
market. Organizations that grow rapidly can experience a loss in the quality of its offer as the focus
moves more towards profits and reach and loses its focus on quality. Innocent Drinks is one company
that understand the importance of TQM, Innocent has achieved TQM through focusing on its people
and the environment.
This report will look at Innocent Drinks as a company and how TQM has affected and helped the
business achieve competitive advantage. The report will also look at TQM theories and the key

Essay On Sri Aurobindo
Political Life
Sri Aurobindo s life can be divided into two clear phases. The first relates to political activism and the
second to spiritual activism.
Aurobindo s political career lasted only four years, from 1906 to 1910. Though he had been active
behind the scene surveying, organizing and supporting the nationalist cause, ever since his return to
India, especially during his excursions to Bengal.
In 1905 an event occurred that changed the course of Indian history and the freedom movement. This
was the Partition of Bengal by Lord Curzon, known as Banga bhanga, which immediately created a
tremendous reaction in the whole of India and particularly in Bengal. The whole of Bengal galvanised
into activity.
Sri Aurobindo resigned his job in Baroda and moved to Calcutta. For five years, from 1905 to 1910,
he shone like a meteor in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having returned to India to join the Baroda service, Sri Aurobindo immediately set about writing on
politics. A brilliant writer, his first series of articles was published in a journal called Indu Prakash, in
which he castigated the moderate leadership of the Congress. He said that their policy of prayer,
petition and protest would lead nowhere. What was needed was a revolutionary movement against the
British. A born revolutionary, Sri Aurobindo revolted against the British and the Congress leadership
This change was affected by the advent of the aggressive nationalist thought of Lokmanya Tilak who
declared that swaraj was his birthright and Bipin Chandra Pal who demanded complete autonomy
from Britain. However none went as far as Aurobindo in articulating the legitimacy and necessity of
complete independence. He based his claim for freedom for India on the inherent right to freedom, not
on any charge of misgovernment or

A Dilemma and My Solution Based On Utilitarianism Ethical Model
(Assignment # 1)
Prepared by : Efren A.

Class : Friday Afternoons
Part 1: Utilitarianism Ethical Model
Many people from all walks of life have trouble making decisions in their everyday lives, especially
on tough or critical situations that may even involve life and death considerations. To address this
issue, there are four ethical models and four ethical principles developed as guidance in making
decisions in an ethical way. One of the four ethical models is the Utilitarianism. This model is based
on the principle that the best decision is the one that gives benefits to most or causes harm to ... Show

So long as a course of action produces maximum benefits for everyone, utilitarianism does not care
whether the benefits are produced by lies, manipulation, or coercion (Manuel Velasquez, 1989).
Utilitarianism ethics has two types. One is act utilitarianism and the other is rule utilitarianism. Act
utilitarianism conforms to the description of utilitarianism mentioned above while rule utilitarianism
considers also the adherence to the law and fairness of the decision. A rule utilitarian seeks to benefit
the most people but through the fairest and most just means available. Therefore, added benefits of
rule utilitarianism are that it values justice and includes beneficence at the same time (Rainbow).
However, utilitarianism (both act and rule) has numerous flaws like in all other theories. First, there is
uncertainty as to the outcome which is the basis of the decision. Outcomes maybe inferred from life
experiences or from logical evaluations but no one can be certain of the actual outcome in the future.
Wrong prediction of the outcomes resulting to less benefit or more harm, makes the utilitarian
decision as unethical. Second, predicted outcomes of different nature like money (tangible) against
happiness (intangible) are not really comparable, making a quantified advantage of the other is
debatable. Last but not the least, there

Anna s Ego Defenses In Matilda, James And The Giant Peach,
This study applies Freud s, and Anna s Ego defenses to Dahl s three novels, Matilda , James and the
Giant Peach , and Charily and the Chocolate Factory, and the effect of them in developing the
personalities of the main characters. Even though, the three novels have been discussed before,; this
study differs as it concentrates on a subject that has not received much attention. . : the use of Freud s
and Anna s Ego defense in the above mentioned novels. A detailed study of this theme will provide a
comprehensible understanding of the novels. This thesis examines the psychological factors that

In fact, many of his books become children s classic and many studies have been made on the social
aspect of his books and the elements of social criticism. However, not so many studies are made on
the psychological aspect of his works. This thesis will focus and analyze the psychological aspect of
Dahl s books for children through investigating the novels from a specific perspective, named as Ego
Defense . Life is not easy. The ego .. the I stands at the center of some pretty powerful forces in
society as represented by the Superego , biology as represented by the Id , when these forces make
conflicting demands on the ego, we come to understand why the one feels threatened, feels
overwhelmed, feels as if he was near collapsing under the weight of it all. This feeling is named
anxiety, and it serves as a signal to the ego that its survival. According to Freud, to deal with conflict
and problems in life the Ego employs a range of Ego defenses. Ego defenses operate at an
unconscious level and help to hold off unpleasant feelings. If the Ego is forced to admit its weakness,
it breaks out in discomfort regarding the outside world, moral discomfort regarding the Superego, and
neurotic discomfort regarding the strength of the passions in the Id .in fact, memories that banished to
the unconscious do not disappear, but continue to give a strong influence on behavior. The

Nutrition Action Plan
My current diet is not consistent. Some days I will have well balanced meals, which consist of fruits,
veggies, dairy, protein, and whole grains. Other days I will just eat what is easy to make or worst I will
skip a meal. Also, on some days I will just snack all day. By skipping meals or just snacking on
whatever is easiest, is not very healthy because my body is not getting the right nutrients it needs to
function healthily. Also, by snacking all day, I am eating more then what my body needs or doesn t
need and is stored as fat most likely. My action plan to improve my dietary behavior is to measure out
my food as well as making sure the food is healthy. I do have measurements from 21 day fix that helps

On days I do not work I will sleep in as long as I can. I am also a restless sleeper, I know this because
my jawbone also records my sleep pattern. I feel like my sleep is inadequate because most days I feel
tired in the morning except on days I sleep in. Stress from work and school also plays a role in my
inadequate sleep. I do not have a nightly routine that will make me feel relaxed and ready for bed. My
plan to increase my sleep is to start a nightly routine of doing some yoga to calm my body from stress
or read a book that I enjoy to read. I also need to go to bed at the same time every night and wake up
every morning at the same time, so that my eternal clock will get use to my nightly routine. This will
help me sleep better throughout the night. Homework and TV are my main barriers for making it hard
to get to bed early. I need to set an exact time to start my nightly routine, that way I have no excuses to

Birth Control Access to Teens
Formal Outline
Topic: Birth control access to teenage girls
Thesis statement: Although teenage girls are prohibited from purchasing birth control, laws should be
implemented to allow access to birth control as a means of managing safer sex, preventing the health
risks and guarding them from the cycle of poverty.
1. Reasons for not allowing birth control to be given to teenagers A. It encourages sexual activity (Sex
with many partners promiscuity) B. Abstinence should be promoted 1. It is 100 percent effective 2.
Sex is not for teenagers
11. Reasons for providing teenage girls access to birth control A. Easy access to birth control makes
sex safer 1. Prevention of unwanted pregnancies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But they get the message that sex is risky. They begin to see sex as a sensitive issue that should be
taken very seriously because it involves life changing consequences. Additionally, a study published in
the Journal of Adolescent Health found that teaching about contraception and making them available
to teenagers was not associated with increased risk of sexual activity as many abstinence only
supporters have insisted. Therefore, the availability of birth control along with education about it does
not increase sexual activity but informs teenagers to practice good decision making for their bodies
and their future.
The opponents of birth control to teens overlook the fact that providing birth control to teenage girls
would make sex much safer. Certainly, the unsteady rate of teenage pregnancies would decrease. In
previous times, girls between the ages of 16 17 would get pregnant unintentionally. However, in this
era, 13 and 14 year old girls are having babies teens who are completely unprepared to give birth and
raise a child. In these instances, if the child is not given up for adoption, the responsibility usually
becomes that of the parents. In addition, when teenagers are protected from unwanted pregnancies the
number of teen abortions taking place each year could be reduced significantly. According to
Guttmacher.org, some states in the U.S have reported that 50 percent of pregnant teens receive an
abortion. Not only is this a costly procedure, but it is also

Lack Of Fear In Lolita
Dr. Stanton Samenow wrote, You cannot be other than who you are. A crime that appears out of
character can be understood only by discerning what the character of the individual truly is .
Deciphering the characteristics that will identify a criminal can be very situational. Criminals actions
all depend on who they decide to be in the world around them. For law breakers like Humbert
Humbert, appeasing his pedophiliac urges becomes his main goal once setting his eyes on his landlord
s daughter, Dolores. Although Humbert recognizes the harm in his sexual affections, he can not be
other than who he is. He pursues Lolita relentlessly, gaining her trust to eventually abusive her

Although bombarded in many situations by the landlord, Charlotte Haze, Humbert manages to
sexually assault Lolita without being caught. He narrates his thoughts during the encounters and
recalls ignoring the fear of being discovered in the act. During his first sexual engagement with Lolita
he mentions that, there seemed to be nothing to prevent [his] muscular thumb from reaching the hot
hollow of her groin just as you might tickle and caress a giggling child just that (Nabokov 61).
Humbert points out that he feels nothing preventing him from touching and groping Lolita. Despite
knowing that his actions are immoral, Humbert continues them, confident enough to not fear the
consequences that could happen. This criminal thinking error Humbert shows grants him the ability to
push the boundary when advancing sexually on Lolita. After gaining full possession of now orphaned
Dolores Haze, Humbert traps her in a shared hotel room with an extensive plan to rape her. Despite
her slight stirring and growing understanding of his sly abuse, Humbert still, after a long stirless vigil ,
had no fear when moving his, tentacles towards her again, and this time the creak of the mattress did
not awake her. [He] managed to bring [his] ravenous bulk so close to her that [he] felt the aura of her
bare shoulder like a warm breath upon [his] cheek (Nabokov 130). Lolita had previously hinted at
recognizing his strange steps to get closer romantically and physically to her yet, Humbert continued
to make his moves. At this point in novel, Humbert indirectly eliminates his one true way of being
caught and reported to authorities, Charlotte Haze. Without her, displays of affection towards Lolita
could be made publically in their space without fear. Not only does Humbert Humbert show no fear
with the watchful eye of Charlotte around, but even more with

Gender Roles In The Canterbury Tales By Geoffrey Chaucer
Geoffrey Chaucer was an English poet, born in 1342 into well to do merchant family. He got some of
his education in Greek and Latin. He was a courtier, soldier, diplomat, administrator, knight of the
Shire and a poet. He is the most musical, stylistically versatile poet but his language is different from
the language we use today. The most famous work of the Chaucer is The Canterbury Tales . It is a
descriptive poem rather a narrative. This poem is about the description of 30 people: rich and poor,

How Did Josef Mengele Dehumanize
When Josef Mengele s bones were found, the world let out a sigh of relief. For over forty years
survivors of the Nazi death camps, known as Auschwitz, were haunted by the vision of the handsome,
well dressed man with a caring smile who pointed his white gloved finger either left or right deciding
who lived and who died. Those who passed this man and survived have always remembered him as
the Angel of Death. Dr. Mengele is directly responsible for the deaths of thousands at Auschwitz
concentration camp. Josef Mengele s horrific experiments prove that he is the most dehumanizing
person in history. Dr. Josef Mengele was born on March 16, 1911, in Günzburg, Germany. His upper
middle class family was the proprietors of a machine tools business. Josef Mengele was the eldest son
of Karl Mengele and Walburga Mengele. Josef Mengele was a promising student and went to Munich

Eros Turnannos Ethos
Eros Turnannos , by E.A. Robinson is a lyric poem consisting of six stanzas. It tells a story of an aging
wife trying to keep her marriage afloat with her worthless husband. The plot seems to be, regret and
misleading love. She fears him, and will always ask/what fated her to choose him; .(Stanza 1, line1 2)
The wife is willing to lead a life of deception to hold onto her marriage. The wife chooses to hold onto
this doomed marriage even after knowing that her husband has betrayed her. She also knows that their
love for each other is essentially a self created illusion. She tries to maintain a positive image of her
husband, from pride and need, and all while in the public eye. Her pride assuages her almost, as if it
were alone the cost (Stanza 2, line 5 6) Her husband seems to be aware of this and plays a deceptive
role with her and himself. Deception is also a major theme, along with struggle and decline. ... Show

Was The American Revolution Radical Or Radical
The American Revolution is typically looked at as a conservative movement, but it seems most of the
actions taken were very radical. They were fighting to defend their rights, governed and natural. The
American Revolution was as radical as any other revolution, in a special 18th century way, and this
seems to hold true while looking at the new waves of thinking. It involves the Whigs and Tories, and
while they are at opposite sides of the spectrum, they consecutively agreed to not address and higher
law principles so they would not have to rework their entire system.. The Revolution worked against
this, and the parties chose to pretend it was not a serious movement and act, as they believed it would
not take any effect. More people got involved and all aspects of life began to be questioned and
revolutionized. The Revolution seems to be radical in a more definitive way as it caused segregation
of beliefs, the Declaration of independence, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The people were finally being valued and everyone was given a chance to work towards improving
the things taking place around them. While it is very debatable, the actions that were taken and how
individuals started to think on their own cause the Revolution to be a special and more defining type
of radical. There has never been a revolution that has been born out of ideas alone and this time, it was
at least the beginning of seeing change. Starting with the Tories and Whigs reformation, carrying out
through the war and even the justice and social systems, the radicalism started growing and spreading.
There was still a long way to go and a huge separation between conservative and liberal views, but it
was a revolution for the people. It was special for the 18th century and was able to be carried out due
to the segregation of beliefs, the magnum opus, and the acts of the

A little bit about steroids: aromatizing and not only.Prolonged use of steroids can lead to increased
levels of estradiol in the blood and as a consequence of it to aromatization. I note here that this
property have only the so called aromatizable steroids. Testosterone is considered to have the biggest
incline to this process, of course. The second place occupies such a steroid as methandrostenolone.
Boldenone and flyuksimetreon have more weak property of aromatization. There are steroids that can

What Is The Double Spiral Of Conflict

motive. All the workers, for exsample, in an oil refining company have a lot of knowledge, interest

and eventually cause separation due to their different views. The double spiral of conflict contains two
ends where the upper end explains some of the values that will bring back the parties together while
the other end strains the whole group to a downfall. When the two camps are separated, they will try
to create a conflict, and as both do not want to retreat, they see themselves as supposed to fight back

George S. Patton Rhetorical Leadership
Respected by most, yet feared by many, General George S. Patton was one of the most profound
leaders the United States Army has ever had. He took part throughout the Mexican Revolution, World
War One, and dominating the stage throughout World War Two. His career as an officer took stage
shortly after his graduation from The United States Army Military Academy, where he branched as a
cavalry officer (Patton, Wikipedia, 2017). Inpatient and young, he eventually went on his first
deployment as a lieutenant to take part in the battle of San Miguelito. It was in Mexico that Patton met
General John Joseph Pershing, where it is believed that he based a lot of his military leadership styles
on the way Pershing led his troops (Pershing, Wikipedia, 2017). Through imitating Pershing, George
had some of the most courageous leadership styles known widely throughout, where many praised his
bravery, yet several found him foolish. Following the battle of San Miguelito, Patton was promoted to
Captain and appointed by General Pershing to the head of the new AEF Tank Corps. (Pershing,
Wikipedia, 2017). It was throughout the process of developing the AEF Tank Corps. that I feel Patton
demonstrated his most profound adaptive leadership trait, drive. George Patton was driven in anything
and everything he did for the AEF Tank Corps. He implemented his own ideas, tactics, design,
uniform, and procedures in a way that revolutionized war (PATTON 360, 2015). The United States

One thing that could have high effect is decline in sales due to economic stability. Clothing is a
necessity but expensive clothing isn t so it is important that this brand make an experience and
clothing that customers will want to indulge in no matter what financial situation. For this threat the
recommendation that I have is producing high quality products. If I am having a hard time and I don t
want to continually spend money on a good pair of jeans I will splurge and by a few so that I don t
have to waist my money on buying tens of pair of pants quality over quantity. Other factors that post a
threat to Abercrombie and Fitch are other stores and competition such as H M, Macys and Nordstrom.
If this brand can offer consumers what the others can t I believe than can eliminate any competition in
their way. The fact Abercrombie and Fitch has different divisions it defiantly gives them a leg up on
the completion because their exposure is greater. The last threat is trends, it is very important as a
brand to have up to date items in their store. Teens are always looking to their favorite stores for the
latest fashions crave, it is important to them to stay in style. Making sure they are current will help
them not get left behind by their competitors. All in all, Abercrombie and Fitch has what it takes to

This can be read as a nod to how Frank is like a rolling stone himself, in the way in which like a
rolling stone he gathers no moss, whereby he keeps moving to avoid the less rewarding side of his
criminal activities. Later on in the film the evidence that Colin is a Rat is placed in a Rolling Stone
album CD case Exile on Main Street this use of popular music as a tangible part of the mise en scene
furthers the innovative use of music by Scorsese in his film. The meaning created by this use of album
art can be connoted in many ways, maybe it s the foreshadowing of Colin s Exile after Madolyn
hearing the incriminating evidence that s on the tape, or mayb it s another stamp on franks influence as
taping conversations is a precaution Frank used to cover his tracks, again furthering this notion of his
character being like a rolling stone gathering no moss. There is a fantastic sequence when Bill first
meets Frank that carries on with a series of different stones songs teamed with classical music. The
first stones song is heard when Frank first sits down and the scene follows with a mixture of both sex
and violence. Scorsese in Schikel (p.271) comments on how the character of Frank equates sex with
violence as part of the thrill . The character of Bill is interrogated brutally by Frank and French (Ray
Whinstone) as to whether or not he is a cop, immediately after Frank leaves the room to meet

Essay On Life Of A Superintendent
Life of a Superintendent
Taking care of a golf course is a great field to go into because supervisors get the winter months off,
they only need two years of college minimum, have to be a good supervisor for the crew members,
and they have to be self motivated to be a golf course superintendent.
There is a bunch of things that superintendents do. One thing they do is mow. Now on a golf course
there is a lot of grass and it has to be maintained to a certain height. The greens are mowed lower than
the fairways and the rough. Mowing is a crucial point of a golf course because that will determine the
greens rolling speed and nobody likes slow greens. The greens are the part where the cups are cut and

watering is a the biggest part of watering. If there is dry spots or anything looking funky out there then
they grab a hose and start hand watering. Spraying is the biggest part of a golf course. If the
superintendent doesn t spray then say goodbye to it. They spray pesticides, herbicides, and fungicide.
Pesticides will kill any kind of pest that is on a golf course. A couple of examples of pesticides to be
found are grubs, worms and ants. Herbicides is used to kill weeds and if they apply to much to an area
you could also kill grass. There is a ton a weeds out there but the old chemicals are not doing the trick
anymore just because the weeds are prone to it and it just won t die out. Scientist are working on
making new formulations to make sure they won t be prone to it anymore and will die. Fungicides are
used for diseases and can be sprayed at a preventative rate or curative rate. The two most common
diseases on a golf course are dollar spot and brown patch. Dollar spot are like quarter size brown spots
that can be found on fairways and greens. It feeds off of water and will start to expand if not treated
right away. Brown patch is a circle and will be brown but leave the green turf in the middle and it will
die if not treated.
The working environment on a golf course is dangerous and also can be nice. The dangerous side of it
is that they are outside all the time and the people working could be a long ways from

The Private Market And Venture Capitalist
Mr. Whitney presented enlightening information regarding entrepreneurship, why it is important and
how the private market or venture capitalist are so important in investing in entrepreneurs. Venture
capital is changing the global economy as banks are not investing in businesses anymore other than
lending funds. Wealth creation has changed due to the internet and today wealth creation is out pacing
the wealth created by inheritance (M. Whitney, personal communication, May 21, 2016). An axiom
from Mr. Whitney s company is networks create and disrupt net worth. As explained, networks bind
things together, but they take away somewhere else. This can be illustrated in the railroad industry.
The railroad created a network, which tied the east and west coast together, facilitating travel and
movement of goods from coast to coast. However, the railroad industry disrupted net worth of the
horse and buggy industry, as this mode of transportation was replaced. It is typical for organizations to
follow a common business model within an industry but, if you assume that there is only one business
model, then your organization gets disrupted and you are blindsided. Another idea presented was retail
is a good indicator of market shifts, with three big trends portrayed in retail that is extended to every
industry as a predictive indicator. One of these trends is consolidation, which we see companies
buying up companies, therefore the customer base is getting smaller. This

of this in children. Most of the time lazy eye is caused by a mild weakness of the muscles that control

The Differences Between The Native Taiwanese And...
When I was younger, I didn t quite understand the differences between the Native Taiwanese and
Mainlander in Taiwan, where Mainlander referred to Chinese migrants during or after the period of the
surrender of Imperial Japan, and World War II. It wasn t until much later that I understood why
Taiwanese divided among themselves. I was told that my mother s side of family have experienced the
White Terror, which refers to the entire period from 1947 to 1987, during this period, many of the
family lands was confiscated by the Kuomintang, the Chinese nationalist party. It was also during the
White Terror period that Mandarin Chinese language was established as the official language of
Taiwan, and the other native language mainly Taiwanese was considered as taboo and forbidden. The
language differences are especially obvious between Northern and Southern of Taiwan, while my
mother s side of the family resident in the South, as I grow up in the North, I speak mainly Mandarin
Chinese, and I can understand but not quite fluent in Taiwanese.
My grandfather on my father s side was a general of the Chinese military that defeated the Nationalists
and declaring the People s Republic of China then retreat to Taiwan in 1949. He stayed in the military
and retired at an older age. As for my mother s side of the family whom has resided in Taiwan during
and likely before the period between 1895 and 1945, while Taiwan was under Japanese rule and was a

In The Country We Love Summary
In The Country We Love By Diane Guerrero is a written masterpiece. Many people will not talk let
alone write about their illegal status or anyone they know that is illegal because of fear. What Diane
Guerrero did is give a voice. She let go of her fear and spoke for those in the same of similar positions
of their lives. She did not write about a mid life crisis or something redundant. She wrote about reality.
Primarily, Guerrero was not seeking a crowd of illegals. She was pursuing young readers with open
minds. Such as when she reached out to young girls during the time in the book when she got her
menstrual cycle and what a difficult time that was. She also related to young women when she had to
buy her first bra and the awkwardness that swallowed her and then spit her out. She was relating to
half of the worlds population when she wrote about these moments in her ... Show more content on

She did not make herself sound proper (in other words something that she is not) and unrealistic. She
wrote events the way they were. Whether it included curse words or not, Guerrero wrote the truth and
how she saw things happen. Guerrero was telling the readers about her life not a story. That really
captures people into the book; which makes it challenging to stop reading. People want to feel apart of
something; Guerrero exposed multiple possible openings that many can find enjoyment and
participation with. Guerrero s use of figurative language consisted of a flashback during the majority
of the book. This is relatable to young readers because they are constantly thinking about the past. If
they did the right thing and could they have done a better job. They are always looking towards the
future for instance what college or what career pathway they want to follow. Guerrero reassured them
that you don t necessarily have to make the correct choice at once when thinking about the future. She

The City-Soul Dichotomy In Plato s Republic
In the Republic, the city soul analogy serves as the starting point from which Plato builds the dialogue,
and its implications phantasmically loom in the background of the work s political and philosophical
deliberations. At the end of Republic II, Socrates, in an effort to impugn Thrasymachus commendation
of injustice, asserts that a just soul and a just man will live well, and an unjust one badly. (Republic
353e) Socrates therefore believes that the just live better lives than those who are unjust, and to
demonstrate this to his main interlocutors he considers a city in which justice is applied. Socrates
general approach is to draw out the fundamental concept of political justice, and, through the vehicle
of the city soul analogy, relate this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example of this is found in Republic IV as the soul is proven to be partitioned into three
independent components: reason, spirit, and appetite, all of which have direct counterparts in the class
structure of Socrates city. The analogy s significance is also showcased in Republic VII, as an accurate
depiction of justice s intrinsic value in the individual is derived through the interlocutor s investigation
of the conventions in Socrates city. Justice is ultimately found to possess universal qualities, one of
which includes being a product of the pursuit of the form of the good. Further consistencies between
the city and soul are evinced by Republic VIII and IX where Socrates finds equivalence among the
specific dynamics of various political systems and natural constitutions of the soul. With these
examples in mind, we must turn to the text of the Republic in order to gain a more comprehensive
understanding of the message Socrates was seeking to communicate through his analogy of city and

How Politics Should Be Viewed By Chris Matthews
Chris Matthews, who has written Hardball, has truly changed my perspective on how politics should
be perceived and how to win within the political world through the hardball (13) way. Hardball (13) is
an idea how politicians could win and gain highest political status through clean, aggressive
Machiavellian politics (13). I have originally viewed the book as uninteresting because I had lacked
knowledge about politics in general. However, Chris Matthews had made the book engrossing on how
he described politics should be looked up and utilized within the political world. I had enjoyed the
book about how Chris Matthews used many recollections about various politicians who have
encountered failures through their political careers, which had motivated the politicians to become the
best politicians in the world or to achieve the highest political status. Chris Matthews was able to
captivate me and many audiences on how these political rules could be applied to our situation if we
handle the situation the hardball (13) way. Hardball will be a stepping stone for aspiring politicians to
learn about the political field and to take advantage of using the rules to have successful political
careers. The first chapter of the book, It Is Not Who You Know: It s Who You Get To Know, has truly
exemplified on how politicians should take this rule as a stepping to perceiving on how politicians
could become successful within the political world or acquire the highest political status

We provide more complete results regarding the effectiveness of the amphotericin B as an antifungal
treatment for chytridiomycosis. As an attempt of finding novel antifungal therapeutic agents for Bd,
we tested the viability of the zoospores, sporangia and biofilm associated cells in the presence of
different concentrations of methyl chavicol, curcumin, allicin and 6 gingerol. Plant extracts have been
used to treat different microbial diseases of humans, animals and plants for decades. Methyl chavicol
is not soluble in water; instead it is highly soluble in ethanol and DMSO. Ethanol and DMSO both kill
Bd. Therefore, testing its ability to kill Bd was determined in mixed cultures by directly adding
different volumes of oil into 10 ml H broth cultures. The minimal inhibitory concentration of methyl
chavicol was 1 µl/ml which completely killed a mixer of both zoospores and sporangia. Our results
match with the previously reported MIC of 1 µl/ml for methyl chavicol which completely inhibited
the mycelial growth of Moniliophthora perniciosa (Costa et al. 2015). Antibacterial activities of
Ocimum sp. essential oils, which consist methyl chavicol as the major component, have been proved
to be effective against different bacteria and fungi (Moghaddam et al. 2014, Pandey et al. 2014). Even

Writing An Assignment On The Generating Ideas
Good afternoon everyone!

process of completing my final essay, I believe I am far enough along that I can discuss my writing
process. I have writing anxiety and I am sure I am not the only one in here that feels that way. When I
wrote the Generating Ideas assignment on my writing process, I compared my writing anxiety to what
a person feels prior to a dental procedure or having surgery. I used to cope by avoidance. I would
procrastinate until the very last minute. That level of deadline stress combined with the apprehension
of writing in general compounded my panic level. This is not a good thing and the results were less

Abstract
The goal of this essay is to focus on theory and implementation of the Balanced Scorecard system.
Because of the structured generic approach of the methodology, the Balanced Scorecard has gained its
popularity as means of evaluating performance and reporting quantitative performance results. The
balanced scorecard is a strategic planning and management system that is used extensively in business
and industry, government, and nonprofit organizations worldwide to align business activities to the
vision and strategy of the organization, improve internal and external communications, and monitor
organization performance against strategic goals (The Balanced Scorecard Institute, 2014). The
Balanced Scorecard is the most prevalent and adopted of the several strategic performance tools since
the early 1990s. In addition, the derivatives of the Balanced Scorecard such as Performance Prism and
Results Based Management have also gained prominence in the field of strategic performance
management and improvement. The Balanced Scorecard commenced as a performance management
tool that incorporated strategic non financial performance measures to the conventional financial
indicators in order to provide managers and company executives with a somewhat balanced view of
the aspect of organizational performance.

Describe The Four Types Of Weapons In Elizabethan
Elizabethan Era Weapons
, All of mankind s existence has been in thanks for weaponry. From the cavemen to the Elizabethan
Era, weapons have always been by man s side. Nobles, Archers, and Knights have all used various
types of weapons in the Elizabethan Era. From the billhook to the Poleaxe, Elizabethan Era soldiers
have used almost any weapon given to them, and they will fight for their cause no matter the cost.
Foot soldiers were the main men the Elizabethan used during war. Foot soldiers were the most
versatile out of the main four types of soldiers used by Elizabethan. These soldiers either rode
horseback or were on foot, giving them their name, Foot Soldiers . Foot soldiers mainly used a mace.
Foot soldiers used the mace because of it s mobility and also by the amount of damage it could deal in
a single blow. These soldiers were also the most plentiful of any type of soldier that Elizabethan had at
her disposal, but foot soldiers weren t the only type of soldier Elizabethan had. Not only did

Using weapons on horseback made someone a harder target to hit and more deadly on the battlefield.
The most used weapons on horseback were the mace and the poleaxe. The mace was a metal ball with
spikes attached to a chain and rod. It could severely injure or kill anyone with one hard blow. While
the mace was very effective, it was also very cheap to manufacture. So if a mace broke in combat, it
wouldn t make a financial hole into the ruler s pocket. Poleaxes were also a very effective weapon to
use from horseback. It was a long sharpened rod with an axehead on the top. The poleaxe was long so
that a soldier could be up close, but also keep their distance to protect themselves from the enemy.
Poleaxes were primarily used while a knight was mounted on horseback. Just like the mace, it could
do significant damage with just one blow and defend a soldier against

  • 3. Essay On Sri Aurobindo Political Life Sri Aurobindo s life can be divided into two clear phases. The first relates to political activism and the second to spiritual activism. Aurobindo s political career lasted only four years, from 1906 to 1910. Though he had been active behind the scene surveying, organizing and supporting the nationalist cause, ever since his return to India, especially during his excursions to Bengal. In 1905 an event occurred that changed the course of Indian history and the freedom movement. This was the Partition of Bengal by Lord Curzon, known as Banga bhanga, which immediately created a tremendous reaction in the whole of India and particularly in Bengal. The whole of Bengal galvanised into activity. Sri Aurobindo resigned his job in Baroda and moved to Calcutta. For five years, from 1905 to 1910, he shone like a meteor in ... A brilliant writer, his first series of articles was published in a journal called Indu Prakash, in which he castigated the moderate leadership of the Congress. He said that their policy of prayer, petition and protest would lead nowhere. What was needed was a revolutionary movement against the British. A born revolutionary, Sri Aurobindo revolted against the British and the Congress leadership This change was affected by the advent of the aggressive nationalist thought of Lokmanya Tilak who declared that swaraj was his birthright and Bipin Chandra Pal who demanded complete autonomy from Britain. However none went as far as Aurobindo in articulating the legitimacy and necessity of complete independence. Course Section : GNED212 091 Instructor : Mr. Paul B. Class : Friday Afternoons Part 1: Utilitarianism Ethical Model Many people from all walks of life have trouble making decisions in their everyday lives, especially on tough or critical situations that may even involve life and death considerations. To address this issue, there are four ethical models and four ethical principles developed as guidance in making decisions in an ethical way. One of the four ethical models is the Utilitarianism. This model is based on the principle that the best decision is the one that gives benefits to most or causes harm to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So long as a course of action produces maximum benefits for everyone, utilitarianism does not care whether the benefits are produced by lies, manipulation, or coercion (Manuel Velasquez, 1989). Utilitarianism ethics has two types. One is act utilitarianism and the other is rule utilitarianism. Act utilitarianism conforms to the description of utilitarianism mentioned above while rule utilitarianism considers also the adherence to the law and fairness of the decision. A rule utilitarian seeks to benefit the most people but through the fairest and most just means available. Therefore, added benefits of rule utilitarianism are that it values justice and includes beneficence at the same time (Rainbow). However, utilitarianism (both act and rule) has numerous flaws like in all other theories. First, there is uncertainty as to the outcome which is the basis of the decision. Outcomes maybe inferred from life experiences or from logical evaluations but no one can be certain of the actual outcome in the future. Wrong prediction of the outcomes resulting to less benefit or more harm, makes the utilitarian decision as unethical. Second, predicted outcomes of different nature like money (tangible) against happiness (intangible) are not really comparable, making a quantified advantage of the other is debatable. Last but not the least, there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They begin to see sex as a sensitive issue that should be taken very seriously because it involves life changing consequences. Additionally, a study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health found that teaching about contraception and making them available to teenagers was not associated with increased risk of sexual activity as many abstinence only supporters have insisted. Therefore, the availability of birth control along with education about it does not increase sexual activity but informs teenagers to practice good decision making for their bodies and their future. The opponents of birth control to teens overlook the fact that providing birth control to teenage girls would make sex much safer. Certainly, the unsteady rate of teenage pregnancies would decrease. • 8. Lack Of Fear In Lolita Dr. Stanton Samenow wrote, You cannot be other than who you are. A crime that appears out of character can be understood only by discerning what the character of the individual truly is . Deciphering the characteristics that will identify a criminal can be very situational. Criminals actions all depend on who they decide to be in the world around them. For law breakers like Humbert Humbert, appeasing his pedophiliac urges becomes his main goal once setting his eyes on his landlord s daughter, Dolores. Although Humbert recognizes the harm in his sexual affections, he can not be other than who he is. He pursues Lolita relentlessly, gaining her trust to eventually abusive her passivism. Although bombarded in many situations by the landlord, Charlotte Haze, Humbert manages to sexually assault Lolita without being caught. He narrates his thoughts during the encounters and recalls ignoring the fear of being discovered in the act. During his first sexual engagement with Lolita he mentions that, there seemed to be nothing to prevent [his] muscular thumb from reaching the hot hollow of her groin just as you might tickle and caress a giggling child just that (Nabokov 61). Humbert points out that he feels nothing preventing him from touching and groping Lolita. Despite knowing that his actions are immoral, Humbert continues them, confident enough to not fear the consequences that could happen. This criminal thinking error Humbert shows grants him the ability to push the boundary when advancing sexually on Lolita. After gaining full possession of now orphaned Dolores Haze, Humbert traps her in a shared hotel room with an extensive plan to rape her. Despite her slight stirring and growing understanding of his sly abuse, Humbert still, after a long stirless vigil , had no fear when moving his, tentacles towards her again, and this time the creak of the mattress did not awake her. [He] managed to bring [his] ravenous bulk so close to her that [he] felt the aura of her bare shoulder like a warm breath upon [his] cheek (Nabokov 130). Lolita had previously hinted at recognizing his strange steps to get closer romantically and physically to her yet, Humbert continued to make his moves. At this point in novel, Humbert indirectly eliminates his one true way of being caught and reported to authorities, Charlotte Haze. Without her, displays of affection towards Lolita could be made publically in their space without fear. • 10. How Did Josef Mengele Dehumanize When Josef Mengele s bones were found, the world let out a sigh of relief. For over forty years survivors of the Nazi death camps, known as Auschwitz, were haunted by the vision of the handsome, well dressed man with a caring smile who pointed his white gloved finger either left or right deciding who lived and who died. Those who passed this man and survived have always remembered him as the Angel of Death. Dr. Mengele is directly responsible for the deaths of thousands at Auschwitz concentration camp. Josef Mengele s horrific experiments prove that he is the most dehumanizing person in history. Dr. Josef Mengele was born on March 16, 1911, in Günzburg, Germany. His upper middle class family was the proprietors of a machine tools business. Josef Mengele was the eldest son of Karl Mengele and Walburga Mengele. The Private Market And Venture Capitalist Mr. Whitney presented enlightening information regarding entrepreneurship, why it is important and how the private market or venture capitalist are so important in investing in entrepreneurs. Venture capital is changing the global economy as banks are not investing in businesses anymore other than lending funds. Wealth creation has changed due to the internet and today wealth creation is out pacing the wealth created by inheritance (M. Whitney, personal communication, May 21, 2016). An axiom from Mr. Whitney s company is networks create and disrupt net worth. As explained, networks bind things together, but they take away somewhere else. This can be illustrated in the railroad industry. The railroad created a network, which tied the east and west coast together, facilitating travel and movement of goods from coast to coast. However, the railroad industry disrupted net worth of the horse and buggy industry, as this mode of transportation was replaced. It is typical for organizations to follow a common business model within an industry but, if you assume that there is only one business model, then your organization gets disrupted and you are blindsided. The City-Soul Dichotomy In Plato s Republic In the Republic, the city soul analogy serves as the starting point from which Plato builds the dialogue, and its implications phantasmically loom in the background of the work s political and philosophical deliberations. At the end of Republic II, Socrates, in an effort to impugn Thrasymachus commendation of injustice, asserts that a just soul and a just man will live well, and an unjust one badly. (Republic 353e) Socrates therefore believes that the just live better lives than those who are unjust, and to demonstrate this to his main interlocutors he considers a city in which justice is applied. How Politics Should Be Viewed By Chris Matthews Chris Matthews, who has written Hardball, has truly changed my perspective on how politics should be perceived and how to win within the political world through the hardball (13) way. Hardball (13) is an idea how politicians could win and gain highest political status through clean, aggressive Machiavellian politics (13). I have originally viewed the book as uninteresting because I had lacked knowledge about politics in general. However, Chris Matthews had made the book engrossing on how he described politics should be looked up and utilized within the political world. I had enjoyed the book about how Chris Matthews used many recollections about various politicians who have encountered failures through their political careers, which had motivated the politicians to become the best politicians in the world or to achieve the highest political status. Chris Matthews was able to captivate me and many audiences on how these political rules could be applied to our situation if we handle the situation the hardball (13) way. Hardball will be a stepping stone for aspiring politicians to learn about the political field and to take advantage of using the rules to have successful political careers. The first chapter of the book, It Is Not Who You Know: It s Who You Get To Know, has truly exemplified on how politicians should take this rule as a stepping to perceiving on how politicians could become successful within the political world or acquire the highest political status ... • 32. Essay On Sodium Chloride Our results mostly match with these studies. Interestedly, biofilm associated cells showed to be significantly more metabolically active than the sporangia at pH 9 (p 2 ppt has significantly reduce the infection loads (Stockwell and Mahony 2015). There is evidence that higher concentrations of sodium chloride, 10% (w/v), can kill Bd in 2 min (Johnson et al. 2003).But, this is a very high concentration which can negatively affect amphibians as well. Salinity of the natural water bodies increase gradually every year due to agricultural clearing, irrigation and the massive use of de icing salt on roads both in urban and suburban areas (Kaushal et al. 2005, Pitman 2002). There are lentic water bodies which have the mean annual salinity as high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We provide more complete results regarding the effectiveness of the amphotericin B as an antifungal treatment for chytridiomycosis. As an attempt of finding novel antifungal therapeutic agents for Bd, we tested the viability of the zoospores, sporangia and biofilm associated cells in the presence of different concentrations of methyl chavicol, curcumin, allicin and 6 gingerol. Plant extracts have been used to treat different microbial diseases of humans, animals and plants for decades. Methyl chavicol is not soluble in water; instead it is highly soluble in ethanol and DMSO. Ethanol and DMSO both kill Bd. Therefore, testing its ability to kill Bd was determined in mixed cultures by directly adding different volumes of oil into 10 ml H broth cultures. The minimal inhibitory concentration of methyl chavicol was 1 µl/ml which completely killed a mixer of both zoospores and sporangia. Our results match with the previously reported MIC of 1 µl/ml for methyl chavicol which completely inhibited the mycelial growth of Moniliophthora perniciosa (Costa et al. 2015). Antibacterial activities of Ocimum sp. essential oils, which consist methyl chavicol as the major component, have been proved to be effective against different bacteria and fungi (Moghaddam et al. 2014, Pandey et al. 2014). Even though methyl chavicol seems very promising in mitigating Bd in vitro, in vivo studies are highly recommended as there is evidence that methyl chavicol ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My assessment on the Texas Gulf Sulphur press release of April 12 was that due to the rumors that a major ore strike is I the making, and the unauthorized report being published, there was an actual press release. • 34. Writing An Assignment On The Generating Ideas Good afternoon everyone! I cannot believe this is week four already. This class has gone by so fast! While I am still in the process of completing my final essay, I believe I am far enough along that I can discuss my writing process. I have writing anxiety and I am sure I am not the only one in here that feels that way. When I wrote the Generating Ideas assignment on my writing process, I compared my writing anxiety to what a person feels prior to a dental procedure or having surgery. I used to cope by avoidance. I would procrastinate until the very last minute. That level of deadline stress combined with the apprehension of writing in general compounded my panic level. This is not a good thing and the results were less than adequate. Over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The most used weapons on horseback were the mace and the poleaxe. The mace was a metal ball with spikes attached to a chain and rod. It could severely injure or kill anyone with one hard blow. While the mace was very effective, it was also very cheap to manufacture. So if a mace broke in combat, it wouldn t make a financial hole into the ruler s pocket. Poleaxes were also a very effective weapon to use from horseback. It was a long sharpened rod with an axehead on the top.
