The Secret Law Of Attraction
Almost all of us that nurture a passion for success will face days when it seems as though the whole
world is falling in around us. No matter how we try, Success always seems to remain just outside of
our grasp and difficulties appear impossible to overcome. However, if we ascribe to the Law of
Attraction, it becomes clear that any negativity will only emphasise our despair and avert our
attentions from our Passion for Success. Therefore it is clearly necessary that you start to nurture a
positive mindset to help overcome problems on days where life seems firmly stacked against you.
The basic principles of the law of Attraction states that we become whatever we create through our
own thought. By allowing negative thoughts to cultivate in our minds, we will by default attract more
of the same into our future. Imagine the moment you open your credit card ... Show more content on

A good starting point is with The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and, without going into too much depth
here, might urge you to listen to this presentation a few times over the coming weeks. As the concept
starts to make sense to you, reinforce this with a positive communication and test the results during
your commute to work, at the office or even in the supermarket, after all, checkout staff have feelings
too! As you start to explore this approach, keep your outlook bright. The future is only a perspective
of your thoughts until it becomes a reality. Those thoughts will seek to nurture and protect by
projecting fear or concerns. So, over these next few weeks, let s try to overlay these projections with
success. Don t worry if this takes a long time to achieve and don t worry if the results fail to manifest

Albee and Williams Use of Virility in Their Plays Essay
The sexual dominance of male characters over their female counterparts in the plays establishes their
superiority and control. Both playwrights suggest that a degree of personal status is acquired by
sexually dominate women. The rape scene shows Stanley s use of power sexually through rage and
strength, used to illustrate his final defeat of Blanche and establish himself as King of his territory,
limited to expressing basic desire . Since earliest manhood... his life has been pleasure with women...
giving and taking of it... with power and pride . It is a power he can achieve over women that they
cannot over him. Let s have some rough house! [He springs towards her, overturning the table. She
cries out... he picks up her inert figure... ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Williams uses the men s clothing to portray power, a statement which contrasts to Blanche s delicate
white clothing. [Stanley, Steve, Mitch, and Pablo wear colored shirts, solid blues, a purple, a red and
white check, a light green, and they are men at the peak of their physical manhood, as coarse and
direct and powerful as the primary colors.] . This description allows the image of the men to be
presented as vivid and virile. Both playwrights suggest that physical and sexual dominance over
women leads to an improved perception and status of men.
George s power over Martha is not evident until the end of the play when he kills their child. George
says, We got a telegram; there was a car accident, and he s dead. POUF! Followed by Martha s reply
(A howl... weakens into a moan) NOOOOOOoooooo . By killing their son he kills the illusion which
gives Martha her maternal role, and she effectively loses the battle. By killing the son, George gains
power after Martha s fling with Nick, while the... two of you were out of the room... I mean, I don t
know where . Similarly he regains a position of control after Martha soiled his role as a father, a son
who was so ashamed of his father he asked me... that he was not our child; who could not tolerate the
shabby failings his father had become . At the end of the play the battle for power is won by George,
and his virility is restored as he takes her to bed . Her stumbled simple sentences show the

Women In Canterbury Tales
* I did not know that much about the Middle Ages at the beginning of this course and Chaucer
eather. My only knowledge about it was about some medieval movie characters such as Hercules and
Xena. I liked this characters a lot because they acted as heroes showed a little panorama about the
medieval religious customs ( Gods and myths). I remember These characters got into constant fights
against bad Gods to protect they abbeys and assure the wellbeing of the people. According to my little
knowledge about the medieval times I thought this course was going to be based on mythological
stories only.So we would be learning about a variety of Gods and the myth ideology behind of it.That

I imagined most women to be like Griselda but this was not the case.Eventually, women of the
medieval ages started to gain power in some way. As you mentioned, women played their roles as
mothers and wives, some were passionate about equality, some were sexually liberated, dominant, and
others took upon the role of running their homes and even becoming heads of their homes.Women no
longer entitled themselves to just the role of a housewife. They also started to work and become a

Comparing Poems Dover Beach And The Ruined Maid
Each poem that we have read is completely different from the last, but they each do not have the same
meaning. I decided to compare the themes of the poems Dover Beach and The Ruined Maid. Dover
Beach is about a couple looking at the water on the English Channel and what the sound waves bring
the speaker to think about. The Ruined Maid is about two old friends, who used to work together,
running into each other and speaking on how one of them has moved up in life, as some would say.
These two poems may not be alike, but they both share the same theme of man and the nature world. I
wanted to first go into detail about the three poems, starting with Dover Beach. Dover Beach was
written by the well known poet Matthew Arnold, who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stanza two doesn t begin in the room, but in Ancient Greece. After listening to the sound of the
pebbles washing up the shore and returning to the water, the speaker thinks back to ancient times in
Greece. He imagines Sophocles, who is known as a tragedian and known for his playwrights.
Sophocles, according to the speaker, heard the same sound from the pebbles while he stood on the
Aegean Sea, which is a part of the Mediterranean. Lines 17 and 18 of stanza two are that into his mind
the turbid ebb and flow of human misery; we. the definition of turbid is cloudy, opaque, even muddy,
which means that into his mind cloudiness moved in and out. The speaker ends stanza two by
returning back to his present day on the English Channel. Find also in the sound a thought, hearing it

discovered thoughts at the sound of waves from the sea of the English Channel. Stanza three is started
with the statement that the sea of faith was also full like the ocean s tide along the English Channel.

The Role Of A Superintendent Within A School District
Introduction Much of this clinical experience has been examining the specific role of a superintendent
within a school district. I found that the reflections as part of the weekly journal to of particular
interest and benefit as I examined he Guiding Questions for this final synthesis essay. Interestingly,
my colleagues in this course found these reflections not to be beneficial. During one of our class
meetings it was noted that these were not a beneficial exercise and that reflection was not needed. To
that, I would counter that reflection s always needed but it is often the easiest item to overlook. In our
hectic administrative world, it is easy to become buried in Administrivia. Often we do not event take a
moment to move from one crisis to the next. Reflection is the only way we can halt the inexorable
march to the end. I for one, was pleased that we were asked to reflect on each week. I took this as an
opportunity to examine the actions of the superintendent and, in a risk free environment, provide my
perspective on the positive or negative actions observed or experienced. Hopefully the observations
and judgments in those weekly journals remain an academic exercise and not a communique to my
superintendent. As I re read the journal entries and focus them with the lens of the guiding questions, I
have some final thoughts about my qualifications and idiosyncrasies that may come into play if ever I
was afforded the honor of being a superintendent.

American Identity In The Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel...
The quintessential struggle for identity inundated the American people after the Revolutionary War;
the country was faced with the struggle of not only establishing a new government but also with the
feat of defining America as a new country. Many literary works and writings were crucial in
facilitating the infant nation s journey in separating from the English culture in order to create this
unique American identity. This process of creating an American identity was not realized with either
ease or haste, and the concept of American identity altered and grew concurrently with the nation.
Literary figures portray different understandings of American identity, each perspective echoing the
national reality at of the epoch or expressing a visionary idea of American identity. Nathaniel
Hawthorne and Washington Irving, both from around the early nineteenth century, demonstrate the
diversity that exists in the concept of the American identity, though this identity is based in a similar
truth. Neither Hawthorne nor Irving are wholly able to separate the concept of American identity from
the country s history and past, as although America is a new county, its origin lies in its Puritan and
English heritage; however, in his story Rip Van Winkle Irving only focuses on the muddled reality of a
shaky and underdeveloped American identity whereas in The Scarlet Letter, Hawthorne portrays an
unique American identity that has begun to grow from the past while still being inseparable from

Lets talk about glue and even glue in stick form. The earliest signs of glue was in cave drawings from
5000 years ago. They would mix their form of glue with their paint to make it stick better and have a
layer of protection over it. ( Koontz, Robi. ) Early glue was made from a lot of animals parts such as
hides, horns, bones, and hooves. Sometimes blood, brains, and fish was also used to make glue. When
scientists made a better glue for pottery, utensils, and weapons people began to get more into unsung

A Summary on James Joyce’s Eveline
In James Joyce s Eveline , Eveline remains in Dublin to care for her father, to take care of the house
and the kids, and she realized she was already comfortable in her current home. Eveline has lived in
Dublin her whole life in Dublin and has seen her siblings either leave home or pass away through
time. Yet she remains in the house that she grew up in, experienced the changes in environment,
changes in time, and the change in the people around her. She has seen her mother pass away, her
father grow older and crueler. She has witnessed the field in which they used to play every evening
with other people s children be destroyed by a man from Belfast who bought the field and built houses
in it not like their little brown houses but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eveline feared what would happen if she just got up and left her father. She was the one taking care of
him, regardless of his actions towards her. This fear can be backed up by state of Ireland during that
time, as it is written in On the Resources of Ireland Much of the public attention is at this time drawn
to the wants of the labouring poor of Ireland, and the great decay of her trade and manufactures. (425).
Thus in the end Eveline decided to stay in Dublin, her fear swallowed her up. However this isn t a bad
thing all together. It gave her the realization of what she truly wanted in the end, and just because she
gave into her fears, it does not mean she won t be happy where she stays.

This essay is about a women by the name of Helen Cunningham. At her home, she has an open door
policy. This means she allows for strangers, friends, and exchange students to stay at her home. The
essay starts out with Helen making herself dinner at her home, and her new visitor arrived early. Her
new visitor was a Mexican artist who would stay three nights with her. His name was Enrique. As they
talk it seems although they are strangers, they have several similar interests.
Helen then goes on to explain that inviting strangers into her home is usual for her. Her family always
invited those in who needed a place to stay. Helen s mother came from Mexico, and was a foreign

The Tragedy Of Antigone And Aristotle s Description Of A...
The tragedy of Antigone is an amazing story of the tragedy that Thebes experienced. At the end of the
story one is still left wondering who is the hero and who is the villain. This question has been asked
since the story was ever told. After reading the story I am going to explain why Creon best suits the
role of hero according to Aristotle s description of a classic hero. Aristotle wrote six characteristics of
a classic hero and I am going to use them to explain why Creon is the hero. The first thing that must
be covered before one can decide who is the hero of story is the six characteristics of a classic hero. 1.
The first trait that describes a classic hero is a character that holds a high position throughout the play.
This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is part of the noble family that has ruled Thebes for a while. Due to this Creon fits the guide well
so far. Next Creon could be considered to be gifted with greatness, but is nowhere near perfect. Creon
was not born to be in power, but after taking up rule he shows a strong rule that looks to be promising.
A classic hero must have a downfall caused by them and this is checked off by Creon. When Creon
forbids the burial of Polyneices; he goes against the law of the gods and later pays for through the loss
of his son and wife. He was turned upon by the people and his son, because they saw that it was unfit
for him to not allow the other brother to be buried and sentence Antigone to death. Following down
the list Creon fits the next characteristic. The loss the Creon experiences is quite harsh and was not
really necessary at any point in the story. Through this loss though he gains wisdom as the play ends.
Creon found the wisdom that he desired. He learned that his pride was his down fall and it kept him
from being great. Now I will show why Antigone just doesn t add up to being the Hero. Unlike Creon,
Antigone has no highly regarded position in the story. Even though Antigone and Creon are part of the
same family Creon is the one with the noble position. Antigone also shows no natural greatness. She is
just like any other person in Thebes. Antigone dose face a downfall that she caused by only herself.
Her downfall was caused

Pascal s Triangle And The Triangle
Pascal s Triangle is named after the seventeenth century mathematician and philosopher, Blaise
Pascal. However, several other mathematicians knew about and utilized the triangle before Pascal s
birth in 1623. In the twelfth century, both Persian and Chinese mathematicians were trying to create an
arithmetical triangle that is easy to construct and that gives the coefficients of the expansion of the
algebraic expression expression (a + b)n for different integer values of n. Pascal s Triangle was first
discovered by Chinese mathematician, Yang Hui, and rediscovered 500 years later by the French
mathematician, Blaise Pascal (1623 62). The Chinese mathematician, Chu Shih Chieh, depicted the
triangle and indicated its use in providing coefficients for the binomial expansion of (a + b)n in his
1303 treatise The Precious Mirror of the Four Elements. Chinese mathematician, Chia Hsien (circa
1050) used the triangle to extract square and cube roots of numbers. In addition, after Chia Hsien s
discovery of the relationship between extracting roots and the binomial coefficients of the triangle,
work continued on this topic by several Chinese algebraists to solve higher than cubic equations.
Pascal s work on the triangle emanated from the popularity of gambling. The triangle came to be
known as Pascal s Triangle with Blaise Pascal s completion of Traité du triangle arithmétique in 1654.
Making use of the already known array of binomial coefficients, Blaise Pascal developed many of the

In 1995, two criminal psychologists decided it was necessary to undertake studies into this particular
area of eye witness testimonies. They felt the need to identify factors that must be taken into account
when judging the value of the account given by the witness. Cutler and Penrod, after completing, their
investigation into the subject they decided that there were seven main factors that must be considered.
A contrary finding is reported by Cutler, Dexter and Penrod (1990) who found
that judges instructions failed to increase the scepticism . . . concerning eye
witness evidence
(Feldman, 1993: p120)
The first of these factors relates to the actual eye witness themselves. It takes into account various
individual and personal characteristics of the actual witness. The first section measures stable
characteristics of the witness. These characteristics are items that are personal to the individual at the
time of the incident. Police can judge similar testimonies to similar types of people because many
people may fall into the same brackets when evaluating using stable characteristics. Things that would
be considered in this area would be the age of the witness, their gender and other things like

The Symbolism Of A In The Scarlet Letter
What is a symbol? A symbol is something that is used to represent something else. For example the
letter A in The Scarlet Letter stands for adultery. Symbols are usually used to deliver a specific
message. In the book the scarlet letter A is used to convey a message and throughout the book the
meaning changes. The scarlet letter A in the beginning stands for adultery, during the middle of the
book it changes and becomes a symbol for able, and finally in the end it becomes approachable. In

Dimmesdale, Hester s lover who has not been punished also sees the A in the sky and thinks it stands
for his sin. Since he feels guilty that is why to him it means adultery, but the others think it means

Dimmesdale finally confessed that he was hester s lover and the townspeople started to see that Hester
was not the only one in the sin and that she really is not a bad person. They see that even the reverend
sinned so she could not possibly be as bad as they thought. Dimmesdale and hester then shared the sin
even till death on their tombstone it said, On A Field, Sable. The Letter A, Gules (Hawthorne 180). At
first they did not share the sin, but now in death they do.
It is important to know that a symbol s meaning is not set especially when used in a book like the
scarlet letter. Hester went through a lot of changes with the scarlet letter. She went from basically
being cut off from the community to being accepted again. The townspeople base their opinion of her
on her actions and what they saw her doing for them. That same concept can apply to a person s life
now it prove the saying actions speak louder than words in a big way. The scarlet letter A does not just

The Middle East is a region of Western Asia and Egypt; some of the countries in this region are

from any land invasion that would come from the Soviet republic. Military facilities and bases of the
Soviet are closer to the Middle East; this implies that Soviet control of this region is of strategic
importance as it shields the Middle East from the West.
The geostrategic importance of Middle East is also derived from its psychological and political

In conclusion, the strategic importance of Middle East benefits most if not all nations in the World.
However, the parameters to measure this have to be in a globally extended framework. This means
that any conflict, especially that which may between the West and the East, May ultimately spell the

John Marshall s Effect on the American Judicial System Essays

Rhetorical Analysis Of Affirmative Action
Shelby Steele s Affirmative Action Rhetorical Analysis
On May 13, 1990, an eager yet serious Shelby Steele claims that affirmative action is reformist and
corrective, even repentant and redemptive , in the New York Times. Despite the different political
views, Steele does not want to insult these sincere intentions despite the conflicts that will arise once
these policies take effect. Steele believes that affirmative action is similar to a ...Faustian bargain as it
creates more moral problems rather than fixing them. Shelby Steele points out the flaws of affirmative
action and hopes to bring awareness to affirmative action by using appeals to logic, credibility,
emotion, and other canons of rhetoric. Steele s plan is to persuade the readers into believing the
harmful effects of the policy.
First and foremost, Shelby Steele starts off with an appeal to logic. Steele offers specific evidence of
the harmful effects regarding affirmative action for example But it is the music of innocence and
power that we hear in affirmative action that causes us to cling to it and to its distracting emphasis on
representation. This quote uses an appeal to logic to express why people are still persisting on using it.
When people think of affirmative action they tend to believe that colleges need more representation,
but really when Colleges are asking to recruit people of color and insert diversity into their college,
they only want the cosmetic diversity that covers the blemish of disparity. These quotas are not
actually effective in helping blacks be progressive for their future and education Only 26 to 28 percent
of blacks graduate from college. Shelby Steele wants young blacks to take action for their education,
rather than being a diversity trophy at college. Steele is motivated to help start a change in how blacks
are educated, because the amount of black students that are graduating in a six year term is too low.
Shelby then connects this to race because this results in an artificial diversity that gives the appearance
of an educational parity between black and white students that has not been achieved in reality. An
artificial diversity is what is making this situation a crisis. When a school ask for

Analysis Of The Story Ancestors-The Genetic Source
Cultural Diversity Ancestors The Genetic Source and Why My Mother can t speak English are two
both entirely diverse cultural up in immigrants. In both stories there are similarities and differences. In
both stories how people who migrated to Canada bring their language, beliefs and cultural background
or tradition. In the story Ancestors The Genetic Source by David Suzuki, has no attachments or
connections to his culture more to the point of his family bonds. In the story Why My Mother can t
speak English by Garry Engkents, his mother did not want to abandon her Chinese heritage. Together,
both stories shows comparable viewpoints of a Canadian citizen and a non citizen but lived in Canada

Engkent s mother had certain beliefs. Staring at the judge, my mother remarks: Noi yren. The judge
shows interest in what my mother says, and I translate in she says you re a woman.... if she is going to
examine me, mother tells me, I might as well start packing for China. Sell my house. Dig up you
fathers bones, and I ll take them back with me (Garry Engkent). This quote shows that his mother is
used to the Chinese culture and thinks that a girl does not have the power to do anything over a man.
However, her thought as a Chinese immigrant was proven wrong when she received her citizenship
from a woman. In comparison, when Suzuki visited Japan with his wife Tara, who is English, he had
trouble booking a room at a hotel. We asked a man at the travel bureau to book a Ryokan a traditional
Japanese Inn for us in Tokyo. He found one and booked it for Suzuki san and off we went. When we
arrived at the inn and I entered the foyer, the owner was confused by my terrible Japanese...because of
my name he expected a real Japanese instead, I was a gaijin and the owner told us he wouldn t take us
(David Suzuki). In this quote, the owner did not give them a room at the Inn because he had a bad
experience with the gaijin. For example, Japanese always takes their shoes off when they enter a
ryokan, but Suzuki did not do that, that s why the owner was disappointed in the beginning; Japanese
think that entering a room with shoes will be compared to a person entering homes and spitting on the
door . This shows that Suzuki growing up in Canada he does not know Japanese s beliefs. However, in
Engkent s mother s case she follows the Chinese beliefs even though she is living in Canada for more

Discrimination Against the Disabled Essay
It doesn t matter what you look like on the outside, it s what s on the inside that counts, but our society
today lacks to understand that. In today s time different is not accepted, people that are different are
discriminated, looked down upon and usually picked on. People with disabilities are seen as different
creatures by most people, the disabled don t choose to be the way they are, but still our society
alienates them. There are different types of disabilities, some type of disabilities are; mental disability,
physical disability, learning disability and socializing disability. These disabilities are seen as
weakness in our society that hence contribute to the stereotype that leads to the discrimination against
the disabled.

It is human nature to despise those that are different than normal. Everyone has a different perception
of normal and when someone cuts that boundary it results in discrimination. Some people also tend to
dislike the disabled due to their own weaknesses, to hide their own failures they will look down upon
the handicap to make themselves feel better. Some people s self esteem is so tiny that they have to find
someone lower than them to feel superior. Also society perceives the disabled as useless, powerless
and inefficient human beings, which also contributes to the ideology that leads to the discrimination
against the disabled. Psychological and cultural influences also result in discrimination against the
disabled. Hence, we can conclude that the fact that the disabled are different is what leads to the
discrimination against them.
Direct discrimination occurs when a person with a disability is treated less favourably than a person
who does not have a disability.
This occurs if a person is discriminated against in the following areas; employment, education and
training, provision of facilities, access to public premises, etc...
Indirect discrimination will occur where a person imposes a requirement, condition or practice that has
the effect of disadvantaging people with a protected attribute, and that is not reasonable.

* Before the redesign project, what factors, processes and behaviors led to the planning problems?
Lack of consensus on forecasts that the departments of sales, marketing, finance and operation all had

The lack of formalized process and communication of forecasting was the key reason underlying.
Also, the data most relevant to forecasting was often not accurate or inusable and Leitax had no built

Leitax should tie its demand planning system to its product group, because it constantly introduces
new products, so that product group needs to help all these parties involved in demand planning to
navigate through the new products on the agenda. This may help different parties to have a better
understanding from an inner perspective in addition to marketing and sales perspective.
Extending products beyond their lifecycle as Leitax did only serves the purpose of making your
numbers look good in the short term. Ultimately, Leitax did more damage extending the cycles than
honoring the lifecycles agreed to in the beginning. Forecasts should be performed with long term
results in mind versus purely short term results.
The decision to introduce more sophisticated forecasting techniques to aid the demand planning
process would not have worked well for Leitax. The introduction of the system Fowler and McMillan
introduced was a significant change for the staff of this company, thus trusting the system and
improving the system for better accuracy would pay off more than confusing things by adding more
sophisticated models. Relying on the most robust model, the statistical model has proven successful in
Leitax s past, but Fowler was concerned the DMS group would seem over bearing. I think DMS had

Why Is Karl Marx Considered Radical
Karl Marx and His Radical Views
Karl Marx[i] Karl Marx is among the most important and influential of all modern philosophers who
expressed his ideas on humans in nature. According to the University of Dayton, the human person is
part of a larger history of life on this planet. Through technology humans have the power to have an
immense effect on that life. [ii] The people of his time found that the impact of the Industrial
Revolution would further man s success within this world and would ensure his success as a species.
Marx was extremely radical in finding that this was a positive impact on humans in nature.

Marx believed the workers were not collecting the benefits of the Industrial Revolution. Marx says
that men are forced to work for natural survival. Marx also suggests that working men only have time
to engage in the basic animalistic tendencies of a quest for survival. He says that man becomes
alienated from nature and other humans as well. Marx is basically saying that man lived day by day,
by day and he has nothing else to really live for.
Marx thought that as the workers grew stronger, they would eventually rebel against the organization.
In doing this, they would create a classless society where everyone would be equal and all property
would be abolished. The basis of Marxism is the conviction that socialism is inevitable. Marx believed
the free enterprise system, or capitalism, was doomed and that socialism was the only option[iv].
Obviously, this was not a favored philosophy with expanding industrialists, entrepreneurs, and
existing political systems of the mid nineteenth century [v].
Marx wrote The Communist Manifesto with the German radical, Fredriech Engels,

German Revolution in 1848. In his essay, Marx explains his radical theories on politics and history.

Mrs. Cook, a 65 year old female, came to the hospital for a hernia repair. She is relatively healthy. Her
medical history includes asthma due to a history of smoking but states she quit about 5 years ago.
When Mrs. Cook arrived to the surgical unit she is complaining of moderate to severe pain. Laura, her

the patient is comfortable and awake enough to teach her how to use the incentive spirometer. Laura
explained to Mrs. Cook that using the incentive spirometer will help open up her lungs so that she
does not develop complications such as pneumonia causing a longer stay in the hospital. It also
provides her body with oxygen which promotes healing and helps to clear her lungs and body from the
anesthesia. Laura informed Mrs. Cook that her doctor has ordered her to do these breathing exercises
10 times every hour while awake. Mrs. Cook followed Laura s instruction and made a tight seal

With the economy in a downturn it makes it a lot more difficult for people to justify spending the
money on things that they really do not need. And since these stores are not everywhere you go it
causes people to travel long distances in order to visit, which means they have to spend additional
money on fuel to get there. The gas prices have been increasing to amounts that have put a damper on
a lot of peoples travel plans. With all of the economic problems some customers are going to go
somewhere that is more local and better in their price range. In addition, Bass Pro Shops face threats
from traditional and specialty sporting stores, mass merchandisers, and catalog and Internet based
retailers. These merchandise providers are everywhere and the 50 Bass Pro Shops that are currently in
the United States and Canada can be quite a distance for the outdoor enthusiast that already knows
what he or she may need. Furthermore, the consumer who enters a store with the intention to only
touch and / or play with an item that he or she ultimately plans to purchase online threatens all retail
stores.
We would recommend that Bass Pro Shops continue to make their stores unique; however, making a
few smaller stores with some of the same features, lower prices, and closer to large shopping centers
would allow customers to experience the environment, which may entice them to visit the larger
stores. I think that since they

With respect to Europe Harley could expand the presence of its HOG club as well as begin to offer
lines of motorcycles geared toward European tastes that are lighter weight, smaller, and faster. They
have already shown signs of doing this with the purchase MV Augusta Group in 2008. For the nation
of Japan Harley can expand its local distribution network and subsidiary. An introduction of the HOG
club there may also boost interest in the brand. The company can also focus on cutting production
costs and offering their motorcycles at lower prices to compete with the local Japanese brands that are
considerably cheaper. It would also be wise for Harley to maintain its path of lowering its greenhouse
gas emissions and carbon footprint to appease the Japanese government and to appeal to the Japanese
public.
Question 4 Harley can compete against firms such as Lifan and Zongshen in a few ways. In one regard
Harley can stick to its core business of heavyweight bikes and attempt to rely on its brand name and
history to attract customers. These bikes would be more expensive and Harley probably would not
make large gains within these markets. Simultaneously Harley could also attempt to open local
assembly plants, distribution networks, and subsidiaries to utilize the same low cost labor as their
emerging competitors. As they did in Europe, Harley could also purchase one of these competitors to
adhere to the tastes of the local market. Harley should look

Buying Feminine Hygiene Products For People Magazine s...
ADVERTISER AND MEDIUM The advertiser for this product is Energizer, who is a manufacturer.
This advertisement was shown in People magazine s July 2015 edition. MARKET SITUATION
Carefree is a lesser known and lesser used brand in comparison to its competitors, so its important for
their ads to really resonate with their target market. Competition in this industry is mainly between
Tampax, Always, and Playtex, which almost leaves Carefree out of the running. Carefree products are
sold in Target, Walmart, and drugstores like Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid. Another thing to consider
with this industry are the consumer attitudes towards these products. A lot of women tend to be
embarrassed when buying feminine hygiene products because of the social stigma around periods, but
the fact is that they still have to buy them. So, when the consumers go to the store to purchase these
type of products they ll usually purchase the same product every time because they know it works,
they know where it is in the store, and they know the price, which makes the whole process go
quickly. TARGET MARKET CUSTOMER PROFILE This print ad was published in People

Love is the feeling of devotion to the beloved person and respecting his or her decisions regardless of
one s own wants while desire is the feeling of greed to possess the unattainable or unethical wants just

American dream which he wants to achieve. He has the best of everything whether it is house, car, or

Capital Punishment is the lawful infliction of death and has been used in Britain since the 5the
century. It was not until 1964 that capital punishment was abolished and this has been described by
many historians as Britain s worst decision in over 500 years.
Along with these Historians, I also believe that our country was much better off with the death penalty
as a punishment for sick and twisted people, murderers, rapists and peadophiles. Did you know for
instance that in 2003 there were 1048 murders and 172 attributed to one man. . . Harold Shipman.

I hate to bore you with the statistics again but it is true that the threat of a hard punishment is enough
to scare without having to carry it out. In the Isle of Man, there was a punishment up until 1975 called
birching, a public beating for any crime. The crime rate in the isle of man for 17 years in a row? Less
than 2%. A few minor crimes in 17 years. Birching was abolished and now the crime rate in the Isle of
Man is sky high, just like the rest of the UK. Proof that if the punishment is severe enough, there wont
be a crime to start with.
So will Britain ever restore capital punishment? In a survey of 2000 UK residents 72% would like it re
instated. Despite what the government tells us we live in a society of ever rising serious crime and
wether we like it or not, something needs to be done. And harder sentencing is not enough. We need a
real deterrent, Capital Punishment is the answer to our prayers. Hanging was my family s business for
over 14 years and we were honored to protect our country and perhaps in advertantly save lives. I
know for a fact that if hanging was re instated as the quick and painless punishment to kill, i would
gladly pull the lever.
I am as sure as I can be that capital punishment is the answer. The mandatory life sentence is just not
enough. It fails, in my view to distinguish between really awful crimes and those crimes, whilst still
murder, are more understandable. Ask yourself, is it right that a serial rapist

Companies are Tricking People Through Marketing...
Companies use advertisements as a mirror for their products. They use advertisements to encourage,
persuade, or manipulate their audience. The most important factor for the company is how the
advertisements will appeal to the customers. Companies use psychologists to help them gauge social
trends. Time and culture are very important as well companies need to know what people like, value,
or need the most at a certain time. They consider all of these factors when promoting their products,
yet they do not consider the quality of said products. Companies have been successful with marketing
advertisement because people usually pay too much attention to the advertisements to pick what
works best for them, while trying to buy something. The first and second advertisements are about
how the corporations use Disney characters and happy kids on food or toys products. Many food and
toys, especially geared for children, usually have a kind of contest that goes along with it. If you buy
this , you have a chance to win this which makes kids want it more. Usually a PlayStation or Xbox is
the big prize offered. Many things geared towards the children have a big impact on the child who
then makes it a big impact on the parent. Most of the times companies use happy or cute kids to
promote yogurt, cereal and toys advertisements, because people like cute kids. Also all children are
looking for that happiness and joy but when they buy it they do not find what they were looking for.

The Normal Distribution Is A Continuous, Unimodal And...
The normal distribution is a continuous, unimodal and symmetric distribution. For a typical normal
distribution, a mesokurtic (which means to have a moderate peak and tails for a graph), definition is
one that has a mean of 0 and a standard deviation of 1. While this is the case, there might be other
normal distributions with means that are not 0 and a standard deviation that is not 1, for these cases,
we use their means and standard deviation. For example, if a normal distribution had a mean of 2 and
a standard deviation of 3, then in order to clarify that it is indeed a normal distribution, we write N(
2,3). Among the normal distributions, we have a standard normal, exponential, uniform and beta.
These are varieties of distributions we can get within a normal distribution based on factors like
number of cases for example and where the cases were drawn from. At times when it gets complicated
to distinguish between the standard deviation of a variable and that of a sampling distribution, there is
a solution. The standard deviation for a sampling distribution is called a standard error and this
literally means that if a sampling distribution is normal, then 68% of its samples will lie within one
standard error of the mean and 98% within 1.98 standard error of the mean. The normal distribution is
useful not just due a random variable following a normal distribution, but also because the Central
Limit Theorem, which is a theorem that shows the sampling distribution of the mean

Web Architecture And Components That Enable Internet And...
Unit 28 Website Production Assignment 1
Alex Aricci 2nd October 2014
P1
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to outline the web architecture and components that enable internet and
web functionality.
Internet Service Providers (ISP)
ISPs are the companies which own or rent the infrastructure which provides internet access to its
customers for a fee. ISPs often offer different services at different price points with more expensive
ones often having higher bandwidth and download limits (or no download limits at all) as well as
sometimes providing phone and digital TV services (for instance, Sky, Virgin, BT) although available
services vary locally due to differences in infrastructure.
Web Hosting Services
Web hosting services provide space and bandwidth on the internet for people to make their websites
available online. When a web page is requested the web host sends a web page to someone trying to
access it via a server.
Domain Structure
The Domain Name system is a system on the internet used to translate IP addresses (long string of
numbers that describe the location of a resource on the internet) into recognisable names, this makes it
easier for humans to navigate the internet as it is much easier to remember the name of a website than
to remember its I.P. address. It is a hierarchical system that points users to various resources,
computers or services on the internet, such as images or videos.

Advantages to a Rigorous Approach to Environmental Virtue...
A good ethical theory requires both logical rigor and intuitive appeal to provide an effective tool for
understanding what is right and what is wrong. In the field of environmental ethics, there has been
significant scholarship in developing a duty ethics based on the inherent value of nature, most notably
by Paul Taylor. Taylor indeed provides a logically clear argument for protecting the environment by
building on the principles he calls the biocentric outlook (Taylor, 99). While this scholarship has been
helpful in offering an explanation for what those who value the environment intuitively recognize,
some have noticed that it does not provide positive answers to how we should live (Cafaro, 31). Virtue
ethicists, on the other hand, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additional insight is gained by examining the formal conditions presented by Taylor (Taylor, 27.). A
summary of these conditions is that an ethical system must be: general in form, universal in
application and, as a standard of right and wrong, it must outweigh any non moral concerns.
Because of this universal nature, these systems are described as normative ethics (as opposed to meta
ethics, which describes the nature of ethics itself, or applied ethics which applies an ethical standard to
a practical situation). Any discussion of norms quickly encounters the problems familiar to the other
branches of philosophy: Are universal norms? If there are how can we know what they are? How do I
demonstrate that something is a norm? These questions are far beyond the scope of any one system of
normative ethics and certainly beyond this paper. Thus, we must leave an elaborate justification for the
reason for adopting a specific set of norms to different discussion.
To that end, I propose that the purpose of a system of ethics should be to identify a self consistent set
of normative claims that would be accepted by any morally responsible individual . Where a morally
responsible individual is defined as someone whom other morally responsible individuals identify as
such. This definition is obviously self referential and poses yet more questions that are beyond the
scope of this paper. However, this definition can provide a minimal criterion

  • 2. The Secret Law Of Attraction Almost all of us that nurture a passion for success will face days when it seems as though the whole world is falling in around us. No matter how we try, Success always seems to remain just outside of our grasp and difficulties appear impossible to overcome. However, if we ascribe to the Law of Attraction, it becomes clear that any negativity will only emphasise our despair and avert our attentions from our Passion for Success. Therefore it is clearly necessary that you start to nurture a positive mindset to help overcome problems on days where life seems firmly stacked against you. The basic principles of the law of Attraction states that we become whatever we create through our own thought. By allowing negative thoughts to cultivate in our minds, we will by default attract more of the same into our future. Imagine the moment you open your credit card ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A good starting point is with The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and, without going into too much depth here, might urge you to listen to this presentation a few times over the coming weeks. As the concept starts to make sense to you, reinforce this with a positive communication and test the results during your commute to work, at the office or even in the supermarket, after all, checkout staff have feelings too! As you start to explore this approach, keep your outlook bright. The future is only a perspective of your thoughts until it becomes a reality. Those thoughts will seek to nurture and protect by projecting fear or concerns. So, over these next few weeks, let s try to overlay these projections with success. • 3. Albee and Williams Use of Virility in Their Plays Essay The sexual dominance of male characters over their female counterparts in the plays establishes their superiority and control. Both playwrights suggest that a degree of personal status is acquired by sexually dominate women. The rape scene shows Stanley s use of power sexually through rage and strength, used to illustrate his final defeat of Blanche and establish himself as King of his territory, limited to expressing basic desire . Since earliest manhood... his life has been pleasure with women... giving and taking of it... with power and pride . It is a power he can achieve over women that they cannot over him. Let s have some rough house! [He springs towards her, overturning the table. She cries out... he picks up her inert figure... ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Williams uses the men s clothing to portray power, a statement which contrasts to Blanche s delicate white clothing. [Stanley, Steve, Mitch, and Pablo wear colored shirts, solid blues, a purple, a red and white check, a light green, and they are men at the peak of their physical manhood, as coarse and direct and powerful as the primary colors.] . This description allows the image of the men to be presented as vivid and virile. Both playwrights suggest that physical and sexual dominance over women leads to an improved perception and status of men. George s power over Martha is not evident until the end of the play when he kills their child. George says, We got a telegram; there was a car accident, and he s dead. POUF! Followed by Martha s reply (A howl... weakens into a moan) NOOOOOOoooooo . By killing their son he kills the illusion which gives Martha her maternal role, and she effectively loses the battle. By killing the son, George gains power after Martha s fling with Nick, while the... two of you were out of the room... I mean, I don t know where . Similarly he regains a position of control after Martha soiled his role as a father, a son who was so ashamed of his father he asked me... that he was not our child; who could not tolerate the shabby failings his father had become . At the end of the play the battle for power is won by George, and his virility is restored as he takes her to bed . Her stumbled simple sentences show the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I found that the reflections as part of the weekly journal to of particular interest and benefit as I examined he Guiding Questions for this final synthesis essay. Interestingly, my colleagues in this course found these reflections not to be beneficial. During one of our class meetings it was noted that these were not a beneficial exercise and that reflection was not needed. To that, I would counter that reflection s always needed but it is often the easiest item to overlook. In our hectic administrative world, it is easy to become buried in Administrivia. Often we do not event take a moment to move from one crisis to the next. Reflection is the only way we can halt the inexorable march to the end. I for one, was pleased that we were asked to reflect on each week. I took this as an opportunity to examine the actions of the superintendent and, in a risk free environment, provide my perspective on the positive or negative actions observed or experienced. Hopefully the observations and judgments in those weekly journals remain an academic exercise and not a communique to my superintendent. • 8. American Identity In The Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel... The quintessential struggle for identity inundated the American people after the Revolutionary War; the country was faced with the struggle of not only establishing a new government but also with the feat of defining America as a new country. Many literary works and writings were crucial in facilitating the infant nation s journey in separating from the English culture in order to create this unique American identity. This process of creating an American identity was not realized with either ease or haste, and the concept of American identity altered and grew concurrently with the nation. Literary figures portray different understandings of American identity, each perspective echoing the national reality at of the epoch or expressing a visionary idea of American identity. Nathaniel Hawthorne and Washington Irving, both from around the early nineteenth century, demonstrate the diversity that exists in the concept of the American identity, though this identity is based in a similar truth. Neither Hawthorne nor Irving are wholly able to separate the concept of American identity from the country s history and past, as although America is a new county, its origin lies in its Puritan and English heritage; however, in his story Rip Van Winkle Irving only focuses on the muddled reality of a shaky and underdeveloped American identity whereas in The Scarlet Letter, Hawthorne portrays an unique American identity that has begun to grow from the past while still being inseparable from ... At the end of the story one is still left wondering who is the hero and who is the villain. This question has been asked since the story was ever told. After reading the story I am going to explain why Creon best suits the role of hero according to Aristotle s description of a classic hero. Aristotle wrote six characteristics of a classic hero and I am going to use them to explain why Creon is the hero. Next Creon could be considered to be gifted with greatness, but is nowhere near perfect. Creon was not born to be in power, but after taking up rule he shows a strong rule that looks to be promising. A classic hero must have a downfall caused by them and this is checked off by Creon. When Creon forbids the burial of Polyneices; he goes against the law of the gods and later pays for through the loss of his son and wife. He was turned upon by the people and his son, because they saw that it was unfit for him to not allow the other brother to be buried and sentence Antigone to death. Following down the list Creon fits the next characteristic. The loss the Creon experiences is quite harsh and was not really necessary at any point in the story. Through this loss though he gains wisdom as the play ends. Creon found the wisdom that he desired. He learned that his pride was his down fall and it kept him from being great. Now I will show why Antigone just doesn t add up to being the Hero. Unlike Creon, Antigone has no highly regarded position in the story. Even though Antigone and Creon are part of the same family Creon is the one with the noble position. Antigone also shows no natural greatness. She is just like any other person in Thebes. • 13. Pascal s Triangle And The Triangle Pascal s Triangle is named after the seventeenth century mathematician and philosopher, Blaise Pascal. However, several other mathematicians knew about and utilized the triangle before Pascal s birth in 1623. In the twelfth century, both Persian and Chinese mathematicians were trying to create an arithmetical triangle that is easy to construct and that gives the coefficients of the expansion of the algebraic expression expression (a + b)n for different integer values of n. Pascal s Triangle was first discovered by Chinese mathematician, Yang Hui, and rediscovered 500 years later by the French mathematician, Blaise Pascal (1623 62). The Chinese mathematician, Chu Shih Chieh, depicted the triangle and indicated its use in providing coefficients for the binomial expansion of (a + b)n in his 1303 treatise The Precious Mirror of the Four Elements. Chinese mathematician, Chia Hsien (circa 1050) used the triangle to extract square and cube roots of numbers. In addition, after Chia Hsien s discovery of the relationship between extracting roots and the binomial coefficients of the triangle, work continued on this topic by several Chinese algebraists to solve higher than cubic equations. Pascal s work on the triangle emanated from the popularity of gambling. The triangle came to be known as Pascal s Triangle with Blaise Pascal s completion of Traité du triangle arithmétique in 1654. Despite the different political views, Steele does not want to insult these sincere intentions despite the conflicts that will arise once these policies take effect. Steele believes that affirmative action is similar to a ...Faustian bargain as it creates more moral problems rather than fixing them. Shelby Steele points out the flaws of affirmative action and hopes to bring awareness to affirmative action by using appeals to logic, credibility, emotion, and other canons of rhetoric. Steele s plan is to persuade the readers into believing the harmful effects of the policy. First and foremost, Shelby Steele starts off with an appeal to logic. Steele offers specific evidence of the harmful effects regarding affirmative action for example But it is the music of innocence and power that we hear in affirmative action that causes us to cling to it and to its distracting emphasis on representation. This quote uses an appeal to logic to express why people are still persisting on using it. When people think of affirmative action they tend to believe that colleges need more representation, but really when Colleges are asking to recruit people of color and insert diversity into their college, they only want the cosmetic diversity that covers the blemish of disparity. These quotas are not actually effective in helping blacks be progressive for their future and education Only 26 to 28 percent of blacks graduate from college. Shelby Steele wants young blacks to take action for their education, rather than being a diversity trophy at college. Steele is motivated to help start a change in how blacks are educated, because the amount of black students that are graduating in a six year term is too low. Shelby then connects this to race because this results in an artificial diversity that gives the appearance of an educational parity between black and white students that has not been achieved in reality. Some people s self esteem is so tiny that they have to find someone lower than them to feel superior. Also society perceives the disabled as useless, powerless and inefficient human beings, which also contributes to the ideology that leads to the discrimination against the disabled. Extending products beyond their lifecycle as Leitax did only serves the purpose of making your numbers look good in the short term. Ultimately, Leitax did more damage extending the cycles than honoring the lifecycles agreed to in the beginning. Relying on the most robust model, the statistical model has proven successful in Leitax s past, but Fowler was concerned the DMS group would seem over bearing. Why Is Karl Marx Considered Radical Karl Marx and His Radical Views Karl Marx[i] Karl Marx is among the most important and influential of all modern philosophers who expressed his ideas on humans in nature. According to the University of Dayton, the human person is part of a larger history of life on this planet. Through technology humans have the power to have an immense effect on that life. [ii] The people of his time found that the impact of the Industrial Revolution would further man s success within this world and would ensure his success as a species. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Marx believed the workers were not collecting the benefits of the Industrial Revolution. Marx says that men are forced to work for natural survival. Marx also suggests that working men only have time to engage in the basic animalistic tendencies of a quest for survival. He says that man becomes alienated from nature and other humans as well. Marx is basically saying that man lived day by day, by day and he has nothing else to really live for. Marx thought that as the workers grew stronger, they would eventually rebel against the organization. In doing this, they would create a classless society where everyone would be equal and all property would be abolished. The basis of Marxism is the conviction that socialism is inevitable. Marx believed the free enterprise system, or capitalism, was doomed and that socialism was the only option[iv]. Obviously, this was not a favored philosophy with expanding industrialists, entrepreneurs, and existing political systems of the mid nineteenth century [v]. Marx wrote The Communist Manifesto with the German radical, Fredriech Engels, Fredriech Engels[vi] who was also Marx s best friend. Her medical history includes asthma due to a history of smoking but states she quit about 5 years ago. When Mrs. Cook arrived to the surgical unit she is complaining of moderate to severe pain. Laura, her registered nurse, medicated Mrs. Cook and oriented her to her room. After 30 minutes, Laura decided the patient is comfortable and awake enough to teach her how to use the incentive spirometer. Laura explained to Mrs. Cook that using the incentive spirometer will help open up her lungs so that she does not develop complications such as pneumonia causing a longer stay in the hospital. It also provides her body with oxygen which promotes healing and helps to clear her lungs and body from the anesthesia. Laura informed Mrs. Cook that her doctor has ordered her to do these breathing exercises 10 times every hour while awake. Mrs. Cook followed Laura s instruction and made a tight seal around the mouth piece. And since these stores are not everywhere you go it causes people to travel long distances in order to visit, which means they have to spend additional money on fuel to get there. The gas prices have been increasing to amounts that have put a damper on a lot of peoples travel plans. With all of the economic problems some customers are going to go somewhere that is more local and better in their price range. In addition, Bass Pro Shops face threats from traditional and specialty sporting stores, mass merchandisers, and catalog and Internet based retailers. These merchandise providers are everywhere and the 50 Bass Pro Shops that are currently in the United States and Canada can be quite a distance for the outdoor enthusiast that already knows what he or she may need. Furthermore, the consumer who enters a store with the intention to only touch and / or play with an item that he or she ultimately plans to purchase online threatens all retail stores. Competition in this industry is mainly between Tampax, Always, and Playtex, which almost leaves Carefree out of the running. Carefree products are sold in Target, Walmart, and drugstores like Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid. Another thing to consider with this industry are the consumer attitudes towards these products. A lot of women tend to be embarrassed when buying feminine hygiene products because of the social stigma around periods, but the fact is that they still have to buy them. So, when the consumers go to the store to purchase these type of products they ll usually purchase the same product every time because they know it works, they know where it is in the store, and they know the price, which makes the whole process go quickly. The most important factor for the company is how the advertisements will appeal to the customers. Companies use psychologists to help them gauge social trends. Time and culture are very important as well companies need to know what people like, value, or need the most at a certain time. They consider all of these factors when promoting their products, yet they do not consider the quality of said products. Companies have been successful with marketing advertisement because people usually pay too much attention to the advertisements to pick what works best for them, while trying to buy something. The first and second advertisements are about how the corporations use Disney characters and happy kids on food or toys products. Many food and toys, especially geared for children, usually have a kind of contest that goes along with it. If you buy this , you have a chance to win this which makes kids want it more. • 37. The Normal Distribution Is A Continuous, Unimodal And... The normal distribution is a continuous, unimodal and symmetric distribution. For a typical normal distribution, a mesokurtic (which means to have a moderate peak and tails for a graph), definition is one that has a mean of 0 and a standard deviation of 1. While this is the case, there might be other normal distributions with means that are not 0 and a standard deviation that is not 1, for these cases, we use their means and standard deviation. For example, if a normal distribution had a mean of 2 and a standard deviation of 3, then in order to clarify that it is indeed a normal distribution, we write N( 2,3). Among the normal distributions, we have a standard normal, exponential, uniform and beta. These are varieties of distributions we can get within a normal distribution based on factors like number of cases for example and where the cases were drawn from. At times when it gets complicated to distinguish between the standard deviation of a variable and that of a sampling distribution, there is a solution. The standard deviation for a sampling distribution is called a standard error and this literally means that if a sampling distribution is normal, then 68% of its samples will lie within one standard error of the mean and 98% within 1.98 standard error of the mean. The normal distribution is useful not just due a random variable following a normal distribution, but also because the Central Limit Theorem, which is a theorem that shows the sampling distribution of the mean ... Unit 28 Website Production Assignment 1 Alex Aricci 2nd October 2014 P1 Introduction The purpose of this report is to outline the web architecture and components that enable internet and web functionality. Internet Service Providers (ISP) ISPs are the companies which own or rent the infrastructure which provides internet access to its customers for a fee. ISPs often offer different services at different price points with more expensive ones often having higher bandwidth and download limits (or no download limits at all) as well as sometimes providing phone and digital TV services (for instance, Sky, Virgin, BT) although available services vary locally due to differences in infrastructure. Web Hosting Services Web hosting services provide space and bandwidth on the internet for people to make their websites available online. When a web page is requested the web host sends a web page to someone trying to access it via a server. Domain Structure The Domain Name system is a system on the internet used to translate IP addresses (long string of numbers that describe the location of a resource on the internet) into recognisable names, this makes it easier for humans to navigate the internet as it is much easier to remember the name of a website than to remember its I.P. address. It is a hierarchical system that points users to various resources, computers or services on the internet, such as images or videos. Domain Name Registrars Domain Name Registrars allow ... A good ethical theory requires both logical rigor and intuitive appeal to provide an effective tool for understanding what is right and what is wrong. In the field of environmental ethics, there has been significant scholarship in developing a duty ethics based on the inherent value of nature, most notably by Paul Taylor. Taylor indeed provides a logically clear argument for protecting the environment by building on the principles he calls the biocentric outlook (Taylor, 99). While this scholarship has been helpful in offering an explanation for what those who value the environment intuitively recognize, some have noticed that it does not provide positive answers to how we should live (Cafaro, 31). A summary of these conditions is that an ethical system must be: general in form, universal in application and, as a standard of right and wrong, it must outweigh any non moral concerns. Because of this universal nature, these systems are described as normative ethics (as opposed to meta ethics, which describes the nature of ethics itself, or applied ethics which applies an ethical standard to a practical situation). Any discussion of norms quickly encounters the problems familiar to the other branches of philosophy: Are universal norms? If there are how can we know what they are? How do I demonstrate that something is a norm? These questions are far beyond the scope of any one system of normative ethics and certainly beyond this paper. Thus, we must leave an elaborate justification for the reason for adopting a specific set of norms to different discussion. To that end, I propose that the purpose of a system of ethics should be to identify a self consistent set of normative claims that would be accepted by any morally responsible individual . Where a morally responsible individual is defined as someone whom other morally responsible individuals identify as such. This definition is obviously self referential and poses yet more questions that are beyond the scope of this paper. However, this definition can provide a minimal criterion ...
