The And Its Effects On America
Over the last few years, podcasting has continued to grow in both audience and programming.
However, most of those listening to the podcasts are in the minority of the American public and about
half of the country hasn t even heard of the term podcasting and they don t know what it means. Those
that produce podcasts have continued to try and experiment with different revenue streams throughout
the year and some have moved beyond the standard method of downloading to get people to listen.
Podcast Listenership
Despite the number being relatively small when you look at the population as a whole, there are a
growing percentage of Americans that are now listening to podcasts. As of 2016, 21% of Americans
age 12 or older say that they have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a matter of fact, according to Edison Research data conducted in 2015, only about 2% of all audio
listening is spent listening to podcasts. As a comparison, about 54% of that time is spent listening to
both AM and FM radio.
Familiarity With Podcasting
Despite the fact that overall listenership of podcasts is on the rise, there is one factor that could be
standing in the way of it experiencing huge growth in the United States. In 2015, only about half of all
Americans age 12 or older said that they were familiar with the term podcasting , a number that has
remained relatively unchanged over the years.
Podcast Hosting And Downloads
Due to the fact that podcasts can be downloaded and created from just about anywhere, there really is
no way to know or get an estimate regarding how many podcasts have been produced in the United
States, including those focusing on news and public affairs. Luckily, there is publicly available data
from Libsyn, one of the largest commercial podcast hosting companies, which continues to indicate
there is an upward trend in both the number of downloads and the number of podcasts hosted over the
last four years. In 2015, the company alone hosted 28,000 shows, which is a big increase over the
22,000 shows in 2014 and the 16,000 shows hosted in 2013.
Additionally, Libsyn reported a large increase in the number of download requests made in 2015. In
2015, Libsyn received about 3.3 billion requests for downloads, which was up from 2.6

Effects Of Legalizing Marijuana In Canada
Marijuana
Killing Drug
Since long time, there has been controversies over the legalization of marijuana. The government is
unclear about its effects on society and on individual. As of today, marijuana is illegal in Canada. The
government is just now looking at its effects. Marijuana should be legalized in Canada because
marijuana is essentially medically beneficial, can also lower the crime rate in Canada and give benefit
to the economy by diminishing the Black Market and providing the government with tax money.
There are at least two active chemicals in marijuana that researchers think have medicinal applications
tetrahydrocannabinol which impacts the brain and cannabinol is a pain relieving drug. The marijuana

Contemporary Issues Involving Sex Crimes
Contemporary Issues Involving Sex Crimes, Sexual Offenders, and Victims of Sexual Crimes
Heather Anderson
American Public University
Abstract
Sexual abuse is any uncontrolled sexual act in which a person is pressed or physically forced to
engage against their will, or any non consensual sexual touching of a person. A sex offender is a
person who has been convicted of certain sex crimes. A victim of a sexual crime is the subject of
unwanted sexual offenses. In order for sexual activity to be all right, both people must want it to
happen. When any person forces you to participate in any sexual act when you don t want to it is
sexual assault. Physical force is not always used to sexually assault a victim. Most victims are
assaulted by someone they know. Most offenders are male whether the victim is female or male. The
victims of sexual abuse can be males or females of any race, age, social class, appearance, or sexual
orientation. This paper will discuss some of the contemporary issues involving sex crimes, sexual
offenders, and victims of sexual crimes.
Keywords: sex crimes, victims, offenders, abuse, assault
Sex crimes can involve physical contact such as unwanted touching or no physical contact for
example, internet crimes (CSOM, 2006). Sexual abuse is unwanted contact between two or more
adults or two or more minors. Sexual abuse is sexual contact between an adult and a minor (CSOM,
2006). Sexual abuse is any unwanted sexual contact initiated by a

The United States Of The Industrial Revolution
Earth provides enough to satisfy every man s needs, but not every man s greed. Mahatma Gandhi
Since the start of the Industrial Revolution the United States of America has been dependent on
burning fossil fuels for energy. In 2015 nearly sixty seven percent of energy generated in the United
States was from fossil fuels including coal, natural gas, and petroleum. The United States had been
aware of a large abundance of natural gas in shale rock formations thousands of feet below the
surface; however, when they first found these rocks around 1940 there was no technology or tools
advanced enough to drill into these rocks, until the 1970s and 1980s. Companies worked endlessly
finding a way to allow shale rocks to release the gas that they held. Companies eventually came up
with a practice called hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking; this process utilizes water pressure
to fracture or break a rock in order to release and collect fuel such as gas or oil. In recent years,
companies have mixed sand, chemicals and other proponents to retrieve the maximum amount of gas
that each drilling site has to offer. A heated debate has begun concerning these mixtures and the money
involved in fracking. While one side asserts that fracking should be banned because of potential
environmental damage produced by the fracking mixtures, others claim that fracking should continue
because of potential gains it could provide for the economy in the United States.

A Secret Sorrowful Woman
The excerpts from A Secret Sorrow and A Sorrowful Women told stories of two vastly different
women. In A Secret Sorrow a deeply caring passionate women was depicted. Where as in A Sorrowful
Women a cold calloused women was described. After reading the two stories and comparing the two
characters I developed a liking towards Faye. I felt like although Faye was depicted as vulnerable and
reluctant throughout the story her character was strong. There are several reasons I came to this
conclusion. The main reason was because of the subject matter that she was dealing with. Although
she had not come to terms with her situation she knew that she did not want to let Kai down and stood
firm to the decision until she was comfortable and confident

Oliver Cromwell
Oliver Cromwell is and has always been one of the most controversial characters in British and Irish
history. There are few people in Great Britain and Ireland today who have not yet heard of Oliver
Cromwell and either loathe him or see him as a hero. Yet, the world is not black and white and so is
the truth about Cromwell. In order to understand his role in both countries as a whole, one has to look
at the perspective of both nations, Cromwell s beliefs and his motives.
Oliver Cromwell s religious belief was one of the most important influences on his doings and shaped
his way of thinking immensely. Cromwell was a highly religious man and member of Puritans.
Basically, the word Puritan means that its followers had a pure soul and ... Show more content on

Throughout history, Cromwell has been portrayed in very different lights, especially in Great Britain.
It is an undeniable fact that Cromwell contributed some good to his country. For instance, numerous
laws were made less severe and politics as well as justice less corrupt. In matters of religion, he
granted freedom of worship. Yet, after his death Cromwell was seen as a tyrant and a king slayer and
the people were tired of living under such strict rules. Regarding politics, debates arose about what
effect he had on the political system after his death. It is incontrovertible that his rule was one of the
turning points in British history, as Cromwell ensured that a king would never be able to rule on his
own.
However, nowhere is Cromwell more associated with fevered anti Catholicism and murder than in
Ireland. Cromwell came to Ireland in 1649 pursuing two objectives: to place the island firmly under
the control of British leaders and to suppress those Royalists who wanted to return to the status quo, in
which English monarchy ruled. Those Loyalists and also Irish Catholics were especially a thorn in the
side of Cromwell, as he believed they were all potential traitors and willing to help any Catholic
uprising that wanted to attack England. Cromwell personified the anti Catholicism of his time and he
believed he was carrying out the orders from God by taming the Irish. His first target was Drogheda, a
town in which he slaughtered thousands of Irish people.

Symbolism And Symbolism In Wuthering Heights By Emily Bronte
A heart shape symbolizes love, a star shape symbolizes fame, and a diamond shape symbolizes
wealth. Isn t is crazy that a something physical can be utilized within writing to represent something
emotional or figurative? Symbolism is the art of using an object or situation to represent an abstract
idea. It is when an object, person, or situation have both a literal meaning, and a figurative meaning.
Many authors use symbolism to add personality and emotion to their writing. Symbols within pieces
of literature make the writing more enjoyable and interesting to read. Emily Bronte efficiently uses
symbolism throughout her novel Wuthering Heights to enhance her writing and give her work more
richness. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte takes place in England on two very contrasting estates,
Wuthering Heights, owned by the Earnshaw family, and Thrushcross Grange, owned by the Linton
family. Both of the estates in this novel can be considered symbolic. Wuthering Heights symbolizes
the dark, cold, and gloomy nature of the circumstances around it. They even proclaim in the novel that
the name of the estate is descriptive of the atmosphere tumult to which its station is exposed in stormy
weather (4). The weather around Wuthering Heights also contributes to its symbolic meaning. The
strong winds symbolize the tough times presented to those who live there, along with exemplifying
the toughness of the inhabitants themselves. When Catherine is at Wuthering Heights she often feels

Individual Disclosure Decisions
In addition to analyzing the information, disclosers also consider the quality of relationship with the
audience, and predict how the audience is likely to respond when making disclosure decisions
(Greene, 2009). Typically, individuals will choose to disclose to those with whom they have a higher
relational closeness and quality, while concealing with those who are more distant. However,
situations arise that contradict these assumptions, as in the case of public disclosure of private
information. The individuals in this study disclose to an audience that varies in relational closeness.
Researchers have not yet accounted for individuals who reveal private information in public;
consequently, they do not understand what rules govern these individuals decisions. In this ... Show

In addition to assessing the information to be disclosed, anticipated response is another method
disclosers utilize to determine whether to reveal their private information. Typically, individuals only
disclose when they have confidence in an accurate prediction of the audience s response (Greene,
2009). Other scholars (Jellison Riskind, 1977; Jourard, 1971b; Omarzu, 2000; Taylor, 1968) have
examined the rewards by which disclosers are motivated. Omarzu (2000) named five social rewards:
intimacy, or the pursuit of closeness; social control, wherein the audience can bestow benefits or
rewards for disclosure; social approval, or attempts to increase acceptance and liking; relief of
distress, during which individuals talk about problems and negative emotions to relieve stress; and
lastly, identity clarification, which helps to clarify self knowledge. As individuals goals change and
they desire differing social rewards, the disclosure changes either in content or in the targeted
audience (Omarzu, 2000). In the present study, individuals disclose private information to a large,

Video Games And Violence Effects On Children Essay
Today, people spend excessive amounts of time watching TV or playing video games. Although not all
television shows and games endorse violence, the majority of them do. This violence can have severe
personality effects on children if unmonitored. Some of these effects include depression, aggression,
or lack of morals which can affect children later on in life.
I Time spent playing video games
In a study conducted by Dr. Brent, Conrad we discovered that the minority population on average
spend ample amount of time playing video games. Surprisingly by age 4, Nearly half the population
has played a video game. Within the next 4 years of a child s life that numbers jump to around 81%
who have played some form of video game. Conrad also finds that children under the age 8 typically
play video games for 25 minutes a day.(Dr.Brent Conrad [2]).
II Time spent watching TV Furthermore, in a follow up study regarding the time spent watching TV
Dr.Conrad finds some outrageous numbers. Analyzing the data we find that 66% of all children under
the age of 2 have watched television at one point in their life. By age 8 this number skyrockets to a
whopping 96%. On average 65% of them watch tv daily for about an hour and a half or 100 minutes to

device such as an iPhone iPad or tablet and 90% have used a computer.(Dr.Brent Conrad [2]).

Symbolism Of The Lottery By Shirley Jackson
When incorporated well, symbolism enhances a story s overall impact. Shirley Jackson s short story
The Lottery contains symbolism to affect the readers feelings as well as add interest. The story begins
with the villagers gathering at the square to participate in the lottery. The villagers chat while waiting
for the event to begin. After Mr. Summers comes with a black box, he stirs the pieces of paper in the
box. The narrators describe the lottery as an old ritual that the community continues to respect. Once
Tessie Hutchinson arrives, the lottery starts and the men pick a slip of paper from the black box. Bill
Hutchinson has selected the special slip and Tessie doesn t believe it s fair. The Hutchinson s family
member draw from the box and Tessie ends up with the paper with the black spot. The lottery s
intention is revealed as the community crowds around Tessie, stoning her to death. Jackson constructs
a compelling story with the symbols used, such as the lottery and the stoning.
Jackson uses lotteries, which are generally seen as good things to win, as a representation of the town.
When the story begins, the village seems to be a normal village engaging in a yearly ritual, Nothing
suspicious or deadly with what they are doing so far. As they gather, the men [speak] of planting and
rain, tractors and taxes while the women greeted one another and exchanged bits of gossip (388).
Everything plays out similar to lotteries or a raffle because they have slips of paper to

Dr. David Mckay, Chief Scientist for Planetary Science and Exploration at the Johnson Space Center,
concludes, Moon rocks are absolutely unique... They differ from Earth rocks in many aspects. The
rocks contain a composition unlike the composition of rocks from Earth. Randy L. Korotev of the
Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences of Washington University in St. Louis gives, Lunar
samples show evidence of formation in an extremely dry environment with essentially no free oxygen
and little gravity... Lunar rocks and soil contain gases (hydrogen, helium, nitrogen, neon, argon,
krypton, and xenon) derived from the solar wind with isotope ratios different than Earth forms of the
same gases. The ability to imitate, or reconstruct, a fake lunar rock is ludicrous. Lunar rock samples
are simply composed of too many foreign materials for any scientist to recreate, even for the
government. Moreover, the lunar rocks have been inspected internationally by a myriad of scientists.
As any scientist who observed the rock, they will say the lunar rock has a more consistent composure
of iron oxide (FeO) to manganese oxide (MnO). Rocks from earth may appear similar, but the
composition of Earth rock is far more inconsistent than any lunar rock. Korotev himself says best, It
was easier and cheaper to go to the Moon and bring back some rocks than it would have been to create
all these fascinating features on Earth. Inspected by many and unopposed, the lunar rocks

before that someone has founded their favorite song in a commercial or in a bizarre place that
surrounds many human lives. Although a group of the population does not agree with this tactic of

without internet or data either way but when you down load a song you can listen to it anytime you

Foreign Banking in the United States
There are several basic organizations through which a foreign banking organization such as D. Beers
Bank of South Africa may engage in banking activities or business to varying degrees in the United
States under federal law. Options for entity formation include: representative offices, agencies,
branches, Edge Act and Agreement international banking corporations, commercial lending
companies, and subsidiaries of bank or financial holding companies. Under California law the offices
of foreign banks are divided into classes and ranked roughly according to the activities that each class
may engage in. These categories are: representative offices, non depository agencies, depository
agencies, limited branch offices, wholesale branch offices, and retail branch offices. D. Beers has
narrowed down that he wants a branch or subsidiary, but within those types of bank charters there are
further distinctions
A branch is a legal and operational extension of its parent foreign bank. A branch may engage in a
wide range of bank activities such as: trading and investment activities, accepting wholesale and
foreign deposits, granting credit and acting as a fiduciary. A branch may not engage in retail deposit
taking activities. A branch is cheaper to establish than a separately chartered bank subsidiary because a
separate capital investment is not required, and the legal and accounting costs of maintaining a
separate corporation can be avoided. In addition, a branch may make larger loans

Analysis Of The Emperor s New Clothes By Patricia J. Williams
In The Emperor s New Clothes, Patricia J. Williams speaks of her sons experiences in his school. The
ethical problem she brings up is that kids see color as a factor in how they like something. Whereas
her son sees color as if it doesn t matter. In the article, Williams says that her son resists to identify
color at all. I don t know, he would say when asked what color the grass was, or, most peculiarly, it
doesn t matter. Williams wishes for people to realize that color does not matter. Williams wants people
to see that race really matters and people bringing it up that it does not matter, is just proving her point
even more. Williams audience is to parents of these children in schools. Williams wants these parents
to teach them that people have different skin color than you and it does not matter. Parents should do
this instead of shushing their kids and waiting to a different time to explain when, in reality, it never
comes up. The result of this is what happens to kids like Williams son. The kids become to be hurt and

Theme Of Alcoholism In Reservation Blues
Alcoholism severely changes the lives of the people it affects. By stripping away the few choices the
natives once had, the men no longer have any way to go. With this in mind, this photo looks more at
the struggles of an individual with alcoholism. The bottle represents alcoholism s tendency to trap its
victims. In Reservation Blues, the men are said to be trapped on the reservation by the beer they
indulge themselves in. Therefore, the man is trapped within the bottle and without a means of escape.
The duality of the symbol comes into play when one looks at him as a reflection on the bottle or as a
being inside the bottle. When a reflection, he is trapped in the shape of the bottle where he navigates a

The Execution of the Romanov Family After three centuries of Romanov rule, the people began to
grow unhappy with government leading to multiple protests and riots around Russia, starting the

The Romanov family ruled Russia for three centuries helping it become a major European power, but

given an incentive to recruit others to participate (Bachman Schutt, 2014). Women will be located

asked to refer other women to participate. To reach a more diverse sample the women will be offered

His most prominent findings were most notably in the Galapagos Islands. He observed the variety of
finches, tortoises in different islands. It is with these observations in which he coined the Natural
Selection and Evolution Theories.
On the voyage, Darwin read books by a British economist, Thomas Malthus, whom studied the
problems of overpopulation and books by Charles Lyell who has written about uniformitarianism.
These two scholars are believed to be the influences of Darwin, according to Rice and Moloney
(2008). Another contemporary of Darwin, Thomas Huxley wrote saying that he felt extremely stupid
not to have thought of that (Huxley 1901).

Scupin and DeCorse (2012) go on to explain this saying the environment affect human variation by
promoting growth and development. Differences amongst humans may be a result because of how
well requirements for growth have been met. Humans are very sensitive changes in their surrounding
environment. For example, if you were to separate two identical twins, who share the same parents,
and raise them separately in different environmental settings. Variations will definitely be visible.
Genetic variation in some human populations has also revealed how natural selection has played a role

An Hour Symbolism
The paper copy of The Story of an Hour symbolized the open window in a more complete manner
than the movie. In the paper copy, the open window symbolizes a new beginning, which can easily be
determined by the view outside the window and Mrs. Mallard s actions. In paragraph number 5, the
author wrote, She could see in the open square before her house the tops of trees that were all aquiver
with the new spring life. By using the words aquiver, new, and life, the author indicates a more
positive view and explains how Mrs. Mallard looks forward to a new life. Also, on page 2, Mrs.
Mallard begins to whisper the words free, free, free . By the end of the page the author states that, ...

Liz Krammer s Argumentative Analysis
In a seminar titled Sustainable Food Initiative Transforming Food Systems, Dr. Liz Krammer
elaborated upon the challenges facing the human race in terms of sustainability as the population of
humans steadily climbs to nine billion. There were many points I agreed with although her perspective
on agricultural diversity particularly struck a chord. She described how out of the thirty thousand
terrestrial plant species that are known to be edible, only thirty crops are used to feed the world. This
utter lack of agricultural diversity poses a difficult problem. The genetic diversity, that was thriving
beforehand, is now struggling. Although this seems like a relatively minor issue, take for example the
Cavendish banana in order to see the potential catastrophic consequences. Bananas are the most eaten
fruit in the world with twelve kilograms of bananas eaten ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Krammer voiced her opinion that sustainability is nearly impossible but that we must simply keep
trying to make sustainability a reality. However, I beg to differ. Sustainability is a movement that
needs the support of everyone. If individuals do not believe sustainability is possible, their efforts will
lose their intensity which thereby is counterproductive to the very concept of sustainability.
Sustainability is very possible in some areas and harder in others, but to label them impossible
eliminates even the probability of achieving sustainability. As such, Dr. Krammer should have
changed her wording as nearly impossible in some areas but definitely possible in others. Moreover,
the three spheres of sustainability are environmental, social, and economic. The environmental and
economic elements of the equation might be hard to achieve, but the social aspect is an excellent area
to begin. It is only by educating the community that sustainability can be achieved, and it is important
to note that in terms of education, the word impossible should be left out of the entire

Cricket DBQ
The introduction of the sport Cricket was much more complex than simply just a new game for people
to play. Cricket played a profound role in political relationships in South Asia between 1880 to 2005
by easing tensions and restrictions of caste members, athough sometimes intensifying British Indian
rivalry, as well as increasing religious tensions between Hindus and Muslims. Cricket played a huge
part in lessening social divisions, a constant problem in almost all of civilization s history. Prince
Ranjitsinhji, photographed in London s paper, planned to visit England and join the Sussex team, who
are glad to have him (Doc. 2). This is evidence that despite English likely believing they are superior
to Indians, because of the game of cricket, they are glad to incorporate a talented player even if he is
Indian. This theme is recurring, English Cricketer and historian Cecil Headlam agreed with this
sentiment, writing, Cricket unites the rulers and the ruled (Doc. 3). The document, written by a white,
English, cricket player, is obviously likely to favor the means of ... Show more content on

Gandhi himself even noticed this, and in his reply to Hindu cricket club s request for support in
religious based cricket competitions, he stated, My sympathies are wholly with those who would like
to see the Quadrangular Tournament matches stopped (Doc. 8). Gandhi s point of view was that the
matches simply served to only worsen religious chasms, and that they should be stopped. Other
leaders of the community voiced similar concerns. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, leader of the All India
Muslim League, commented on the Quadrangular Tournament, saying, I hope our Hindu brethren as
sportsmen would be no less pleased but also rejoice at the Muslims winning the championship (Doc.

together, and appreciate eachother s greatness and

Ethics Reflection Paper
Before WorldCom and Enron, many organizations unconditionally placed social and ethical
responsibility with administrative legal and compliance obligations, regulations and rules. Today, a
company s ethical behavior is vital to the success of the company. Consumers not only expect but
demand that a company is visible in their practices and are held accountable for their actions; be it
through internal regulations and rules through the involvement of the government. In this paper, there
will be discussions of the social responsibility and role of ethics as it relates to the development of a
strategic plan and how the ethical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this program, the author s perspective evolved as a result of the author being discovered that
the end result of Enron failure was motivated ethically, the company itself was unsound ethically in
the mere beginning. Some may question how could this be; however, from the readings on the
organization, Enron was unethical from the start. Enron was in the business to sell natural gases and
electricity. The purchasing and selling natural gas and electricity is not something that would
necessarily be considered an ethical business. How this organization was handled was very strange on
unprofessional. Strategic planning taught valuable lessons such as ethics, honesty and trust in which
should be incorporated into the core foundation of the organization which to includes conducting
business in an ethical way. Being transparent is another concept learned in the chapters of ethical
behavior. From the information gathered on Enron, the organization was anything but transparent to
the shareholders and its customers or stakeholders. Communicating the ethical stance of the company
to all level employees is one of the most important concepts learned about ethics. Obviously, the
ethical behaviors would not be on Enron s list of ethical behavior list. While the Enron scandal
unambiguously is the most popular figure of obstinate corporate corruption and fraud, there were
some good tips that came of this for all organizations. As a

Sonny s Blues
A captivating tale of a relationship between two troubling brothers in Harlem, Sonny s Blues is told
from the perception of Sonny s brother, whose name is never mentioned. Baldwin s choice of Sonny s
brother as a narrator is what makes Sonny s Blues significant in terms of illustrating the relationship
and emotional complications of Sonny and his brother. The significance of Sonny s Blues lies in the
way Sonny s brother describes their relationship based on what he observes, hears, and feels, and how
he struggles trying to understand Sonny through the course of the story. This is a story of how two
African Americans brothers take their own path through life as they struggle to find meaning in their
lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their father spent many years struggling to support a family in an overtly racist Northern urban
community. Sonny, by contrast, is a romantic artist who is not afraid of taking risks to pursue the
things he desires. His passion for music makes him impatient with everything else. He drops out of
school; however, he does try to stay away from danger. Sonny does want to live a respectable life
without corruption. He does several things to try to escape this corruption; he tries to escape by
joining the military, but fails. He tries to escape by using illicit drugs and fails. When life seems to
take a toll on Sonny he immerses himself in his music. He realizes that his problems are real and that
he can t truly escape them. Music becomes his life as he plays to transform his pain and suffering into
something beautiful depicted in his jazz and blues music. Perhaps there is no way that we can
absolutely stay out of danger, like Sonny s father said, there is no safe place for anyone (Baldwin 95).
Sonny s music offers an outlet for expressing the darkness within him while giving his life meaning.
In the pivotal scene of Sonny s Blues, the narrator agrees to go with Sonny to the jazz nightclub. The
narrator s realization that he must accept Sonny as he is sets the stage for the narrator s first trip to the

March 16th, 44 B.C.E Roman Republic Times
Conspirators kill mighty Caeser
Yesterday around noon, Rome witnessed the fall of a mighty leader named Julius Caesar. The
conspirators involved in this murder were witnessed by the names of Cassius, Casca, Cinna,
Trebonius, Ligarius, Decius Brutus, Metellus Cimber and Brutus.
It was supposed to be an ordinary gathering like any other at the Capitol on March 15th, 44 B.C.E, but
things ended up turning out very differently from what was normally expected. It started out with
Caesar heading to the Senate house with all of the conspirators surrounding him. Caesar sees the

This attempt quickly failed when she said that his hubris just took over. I knew that Caesar should
have stayed away from the Senate house yesterday, but I guess his pride just took over his mind, it was
just all too much, Calpurnia sobbed. This has turned out to be the most tragic moment in my life and I
hope those conspirators kneel to the gods, for they have upset the heavens with the killing of the
mightiest leader Rome has ever seen.
It wasn t just Calpurnia that was upset, Mark Antony, a good friend of Caesar, was completely
depressed and raging with anger at the same time. Those worthless blocks of stones, how could their
hearts be so dark to inflict pain on one of the most generous and good hearted people of Rome, Mark
Antony explains with tears in his eyes. They shall suffer great consequences in the near future and
only time will tell when their journey will also come to an end.
Some Romans on the other hand believed Caesar s death was a gift from the gods and portrayed a sign
of peace in Rome.
He deserved his death, he was becoming too conceited, Cassius, a main conspirator in the murder,
explains as he was walking on the streets yesterday evening.
Brutus, the leader of the conspirators also felt the same way about Caesar s death. The Gods knew that
it was time for Caesar to fall, everything happens for a good

The Market Crash of 2008
The stock market is what one would know as a collective group of buyers/sellers that trade stocks,
also known as shares on a stock exchange. These securities are listed on the exchange itself and trade
freely each and every day. On the exchange, stocks move hands day in and day out. Companies are
able to get their stock listed on the exchange at any time that they want. There are other stocks,
too...known as OTC stocks or over the counter stocks that go through a specific dealer. Larger
companies tend to have their stocks listed on exchanges all throughout the world. Participants in the
market can be anyone from your grandma, to retail investors, day traders, institutional investors, and
so forth. One notable exchange is the NYSE; also known as The New York Stock Exchange. Moving
forward, a stock market crash is when a decline of stock prices takes place throughout the stock
market that results in a catastrophic loss of wealth via paper. The crashes are driven strictly by panic 9
times out of 10 a crash takes place. As a crash is happening, panic occurs; the panic keeps evolving
and ends up like the snowball effect before you know it. A crash occurs when economic events take
place. These events are always bad news... The behavior of traders follows, which leads to a crash
when panic ensues. Crashes normally occur of a seven day period and may extend even further.
Crashes happen in bear markets as the market is already weak to begin with. Once traders see a drop
in prices,

Syntax And Syntax
The task of providing a simple description of a programming language is very difficult but it is
essential to the language s success.
ALGOL 60 and 68 was initially represented using compact formal descriptions; in both scenarios,
however, the description was not clear because they utilized a completely new notation. Hence, both
these languages were not accepted by the developer community. Similarly, few languages have faced
some issues due to different dialects, a result of simple but informal and imprecise description.
The study of programming languages is similar to natural languages. It can be classified into Syntax

Semantics is referred to the meaning of words and sentences.
Mostly semantics studies the understanding of each word and creates the sentences in the form of text

Social Media Impact
Impact of social media on student s learning
Situation:
Over the last three decades, rapid growth and development has occurred in the area of information and
communication technologies. Within the last decade particularly, the growth in prominence of social
media and Web 2.0 technologies has had a dramatic impact globally on how people communicate.
Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google_ and RenRen have the potential
to become important disruptive technologies for building cutting edge models of management
education (Michael and Howard 2012). This rapid growth in technology had made the efforts to make
things more challenging, dynamic and convenient as well. The impact is greater on the youth or
particularly students. Students no more utilize or surf online they live their lives there. The ever
engaging behavior of students in social media had created various opportunities for different scientists
to target them towards a thing.
Problem Statement:
With change in technology, the ways to deliver information has also shaped with it. For example, there
are new ways of marketing the products, providing valuable content online rather than on physical
books. The need to adapt to technological change that has rapid and crucial in success of the education
system. It is very important to use social medial in classroom as a teaching tool because it has multiple

Baroque and Classical Opera: A Comparison
Operas are a unique form of entertainment that are typically a written drama piece put to music and
performed by instrumentalists and acting singers They became popular in the seventeenth century
coming out of the renaissance and into the popularity of Baroque Operas. This eventually shifted the
attention to the next type of opera: Classical Operas in the eighteenth century. Each type of opera was
adored in Europe because of the stories they brought to the people everywhere to the music and
singing that they loved. And so the rave of Opera blew up Europe. In the early 1600 s Baroque Operas

Healthcare Coverage of the Americans
Legislative Position:
When U.S. President Barrack Obama signed the health care reform bill into law in March 2010,
opposing political pundits were quick to brand the initiative as government takeover of the healthcare
system and pejoratively described it as socialized medicine. I considered it my civic duty to look a
little deeper into the pros and cons of the issue as earlier research findings had reported 45,000
Americans died annually for lack of health care coverage (Robertson, 2009).
The first amazing fact I discovered is that every modern westernized country, with the exception of the
United States, broadly accepts and runs some form of socialized medicine. England passed their
National Health Service (NHS) Act in 1948, and from that year has provided free physician and
hospital services for all her citizens. Government takeover is a concept that contributed to the
European approach where government not only owns the hospitals but doctors are also public
employees.
The health reform bill was enacted by the Congress based largely on the free market and has been
criticized for significantly enhancing government regulation of health insurers. However, critics of this
law have failed to highlight that it established a system that relies on private companies and the
government neither nationalized doctors, nor seized control of institutions offering health care to
citizens.
Since the law established exchanges that drove private insurers to compete to provide coverage

My Adventure Of Friendship
Sitting in front of the computer, I typed in the very first letters that began my adventure of endless
exploration, discovery and creation. Two words flashed before me on the screen. Hello World .
Perhaps, that s where my journey began. It was fourteen years ago that I was first introduced to these
wonderful machines called computers. One fine day, all of a sudden, my father reeled in a bulky
grayish yellow box. Although it seemed quite intimidating and dull at first, we became the best of
friends spending majority of our time together, him seated elegantly on the desk and I, who had
somehow managed to squish myself in the drawer of the same. At that time, I barely understood the
potential that box of mysteries held. Nevertheless, every click, every window even those annoying
popup adverts amused me. Yet fate brought our friendship to a standstill when I went back to my
home country, India after having lived and studied in Saudi Arab since birth. It wasn t until 6 years
later that it decided to greet me again. Our meeting felt quite surreal. Fumbling around in my mother s
prized bookshelf, the then nine year old me discovered a treasure. It s pages were tinted and torn but
its cover had the picture of my estranged friend and a cryptic acronym HTML . After going through its
pages for an hour, I finally decided to type out whatever knowledge I had acquired on my mother s
laptop. Twenty minutes later, my most treasured masterpiece was ready my first webpage . It was

  • 2. The And Its Effects On America Over the last few years, podcasting has continued to grow in both audience and programming. However, most of those listening to the podcasts are in the minority of the American public and about half of the country hasn t even heard of the term podcasting and they don t know what it means. Those that produce podcasts have continued to try and experiment with different revenue streams throughout the year and some have moved beyond the standard method of downloading to get people to listen. Podcast Listenership Despite the number being relatively small when you look at the population as a whole, there are a growing percentage of Americans that are now listening to podcasts. As of 2016, 21% of Americans age 12 or older say that they have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a matter of fact, according to Edison Research data conducted in 2015, only about 2% of all audio listening is spent listening to podcasts. As a comparison, about 54% of that time is spent listening to both AM and FM radio. Familiarity With Podcasting Despite the fact that overall listenership of podcasts is on the rise, there is one factor that could be standing in the way of it experiencing huge growth in the United States. In 2015, only about half of all Americans age 12 or older said that they were familiar with the term podcasting , a number that has remained relatively unchanged over the years. Podcast Hosting And Downloads Due to the fact that podcasts can be downloaded and created from just about anywhere, there really is no way to know or get an estimate regarding how many podcasts have been produced in the United States, including those focusing on news and public affairs. Luckily, there is publicly available data from Libsyn, one of the largest commercial podcast hosting companies, which continues to indicate there is an upward trend in both the number of downloads and the number of podcasts hosted over the last four years. In 2015, the company alone hosted 28,000 shows, which is a big increase over the 22,000 shows in 2014 and the 16,000 shows hosted in 2013. Additionally, Libsyn reported a large increase in the number of download requests made in 2015. In 2015, Libsyn received about 3.3 billion requests for downloads, which was up from 2.6 ... Contemporary Issues Involving Sex Crimes Contemporary Issues Involving Sex Crimes, Sexual Offenders, and Victims of Sexual Crimes Heather Anderson American Public University Abstract Sexual abuse is any uncontrolled sexual act in which a person is pressed or physically forced to engage against their will, or any non consensual sexual touching of a person. A sex offender is a person who has been convicted of certain sex crimes. A victim of a sexual crime is the subject of unwanted sexual offenses. In order for sexual activity to be all right, both people must want it to happen. When any person forces you to participate in any sexual act when you don t want to it is sexual assault. Physical force is not always used to sexually assault a victim. Most victims are assaulted by someone they know. Most offenders are male whether the victim is female or male. The victims of sexual abuse can be males or females of any race, age, social class, appearance, or sexual orientation. This paper will discuss some of the contemporary issues involving sex crimes, sexual offenders, and victims of sexual crimes. • 5. The United States Of The Industrial Revolution Earth provides enough to satisfy every man s needs, but not every man s greed. Mahatma Gandhi Since the start of the Industrial Revolution the United States of America has been dependent on burning fossil fuels for energy. In 2015 nearly sixty seven percent of energy generated in the United States was from fossil fuels including coal, natural gas, and petroleum. The United States had been aware of a large abundance of natural gas in shale rock formations thousands of feet below the surface; however, when they first found these rocks around 1940 there was no technology or tools advanced enough to drill into these rocks, until the 1970s and 1980s. Companies worked endlessly finding a way to allow shale rocks to release the gas that they held. Companies eventually came up with a practice called hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking; this process utilizes water pressure to fracture or break a rock in order to release and collect fuel such as gas or oil. In recent years, companies have mixed sand, chemicals and other proponents to retrieve the maximum amount of gas that each drilling site has to offer. A heated debate has begun concerning these mixtures and the money involved in fracking. While one side asserts that fracking should be banned because of potential environmental damage produced by the fracking mixtures, others claim that fracking should continue because of potential gains it could provide for the economy in the United States. Where as in A Sorrowful Women a cold calloused women was described. After reading the two stories and comparing the two characters I developed a liking towards Faye. I felt like although Faye was depicted as vulnerable and reluctant throughout the story her character was strong. There are several reasons I came to this conclusion. The main reason was because of the subject matter that she was dealing with. Although she had not come to terms with her situation she knew that she did not want to let Kai down and stood firm to the decision until she was comfortable and confident ... • 7. Oliver Cromwell Oliver Cromwell is and has always been one of the most controversial characters in British and Irish history. There are few people in Great Britain and Ireland today who have not yet heard of Oliver Cromwell and either loathe him or see him as a hero. Yet, the world is not black and white and so is the truth about Cromwell. In order to understand his role in both countries as a whole, one has to look at the perspective of both nations, Cromwell s beliefs and his motives. Oliver Cromwell s religious belief was one of the most important influences on his doings and shaped his way of thinking immensely. Cromwell was a highly religious man and member of Puritans. Basically, the word Puritan means that its followers had a pure soul and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout history, Cromwell has been portrayed in very different lights, especially in Great Britain. It is an undeniable fact that Cromwell contributed some good to his country. For instance, numerous laws were made less severe and politics as well as justice less corrupt. In matters of religion, he granted freedom of worship. Yet, after his death Cromwell was seen as a tyrant and a king slayer and the people were tired of living under such strict rules. Regarding politics, debates arose about what effect he had on the political system after his death. It is incontrovertible that his rule was one of the turning points in British history, as Cromwell ensured that a king would never be able to rule on his own. However, nowhere is Cromwell more associated with fevered anti Catholicism and murder than in Ireland. Cromwell came to Ireland in 1649 pursuing two objectives: to place the island firmly under the control of British leaders and to suppress those Royalists who wanted to return to the status quo, in which English monarchy ruled. Those Loyalists and also Irish Catholics were especially a thorn in the side of Cromwell, as he believed they were all potential traitors and willing to help any Catholic uprising that wanted to attack England. Cromwell personified the anti Catholicism of his time and he believed he was carrying out the orders from God by taming the Irish. His first target was Drogheda, a town in which he slaughtered thousands of Irish people. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Symbolism And Symbolism In Wuthering Heights By Emily Bronte A heart shape symbolizes love, a star shape symbolizes fame, and a diamond shape symbolizes wealth. Isn t is crazy that a something physical can be utilized within writing to represent something emotional or figurative? Symbolism is the art of using an object or situation to represent an abstract idea. It is when an object, person, or situation have both a literal meaning, and a figurative meaning. Many authors use symbolism to add personality and emotion to their writing. Symbols within pieces of literature make the writing more enjoyable and interesting to read. Emily Bronte efficiently uses symbolism throughout her novel Wuthering Heights to enhance her writing and give her work more richness. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte takes place in England on two very contrasting estates, Wuthering Heights, owned by the Earnshaw family, and Thrushcross Grange, owned by the Linton family. Both of the estates in this novel can be considered symbolic. Wuthering Heights symbolizes the dark, cold, and gloomy nature of the circumstances around it. They even proclaim in the novel that the name of the estate is descriptive of the atmosphere tumult to which its station is exposed in stormy weather (4). The weather around Wuthering Heights also contributes to its symbolic meaning. The strong winds symbolize the tough times presented to those who live there, along with exemplifying the toughness of the inhabitants themselves. • 9. Individual Disclosure Decisions In addition to analyzing the information, disclosers also consider the quality of relationship with the audience, and predict how the audience is likely to respond when making disclosure decisions (Greene, 2009). Typically, individuals will choose to disclose to those with whom they have a higher relational closeness and quality, while concealing with those who are more distant. However, situations arise that contradict these assumptions, as in the case of public disclosure of private information. The individuals in this study disclose to an audience that varies in relational closeness. Researchers have not yet accounted for individuals who reveal private information in public; consequently, they do not understand what rules govern these individuals decisions. In this ... In addition to assessing the information to be disclosed, anticipated response is another method disclosers utilize to determine whether to reveal their private information. Typically, individuals only disclose when they have confidence in an accurate prediction of the audience s response (Greene, 2009). Other scholars (Jellison Riskind, 1977; Jourard, 1971b; Omarzu, 2000; Taylor, 1968) have examined the rewards by which disclosers are motivated. Omarzu (2000) named five social rewards: intimacy, or the pursuit of closeness; social control, wherein the audience can bestow benefits or rewards for disclosure; social approval, or attempts to increase acceptance and liking; relief of distress, during which individuals talk about problems and negative emotions to relieve stress; and lastly, identity clarification, which helps to clarify self knowledge. As individuals goals change and they desire differing social rewards, the disclosure changes either in content or in the targeted audience (Omarzu, 2000). The Hutchinson s family member draw from the box and Tessie ends up with the paper with the black spot. The lottery s intention is revealed as the community crowds around Tessie, stoning her to death. Jackson constructs a compelling story with the symbols used, such as the lottery and the stoning. Jackson uses lotteries, which are generally seen as good things to win, as a representation of the town. When the story begins, the village seems to be a normal village engaging in a yearly ritual, Nothing suspicious or deadly with what they are doing so far. Lunar rocks and soil contain gases (hydrogen, helium, nitrogen, neon, argon, krypton, and xenon) derived from the solar wind with isotope ratios different than Earth forms of the same gases. Moreover, the lunar rocks have been inspected internationally by a myriad of scientists. As any scientist who observed the rock, they will say the lunar rock has a more consistent composure of iron oxide (FeO) to manganese oxide (MnO). Rocks from earth may appear similar, but the composition of Earth rock is far more inconsistent than any lunar rock. Charles Darwin grew up as a shy kid who did not show much interest in his studies which led to his father, a prominent English medical doctor, to send him to a medical school in Edinburgh and was later sent to Cambridge for clergy and still showed no interest in either but found interest in nature whilst studying Botany. While studying in Cambridge, he got an offer to embark on a voyage to survey the coast of South America in the British Navy Ship (Pew Research Centre, 2009) His most prominent findings were most notably in the Galapagos Islands. He observed the variety of finches, tortoises in different islands. It is with these observations in which he coined the Natural Selection and Evolution Theories. On the voyage, Darwin read books by a British economist, Thomas Malthus, whom studied the problems of overpopulation and books by Charles Lyell who has written about uniformitarianism. These two scholars are believed to be the influences of Darwin, according to Rice and Moloney (2008). She described how out of the thirty thousand terrestrial plant species that are known to be edible, only thirty crops are used to feed the world. This utter lack of agricultural diversity poses a difficult problem. The genetic diversity, that was thriving beforehand, is now struggling. Sustainability is very possible in some areas and harder in others, but to label them impossible eliminates even the probability of achieving sustainability. As such, Dr. Krammer should have changed her wording as nearly impossible in some areas but definitely possible in others. Moreover, the three spheres of sustainability are environmental, social, and economic. The environmental and economic elements of the equation might be hard to achieve, but the social aspect is an excellent area to begin. • 34. Telekinesis-Personal Narrative My eyes scan the computer as I read about telekinesis. With telekinesis you re able to move objects with your mind. I believe I have that. Well I guess it s time to see. I get up and grab an apple and go outside to the field by my house. I set the apple down on a picnic table in the middle of the field and walk away from it. I turn back around and I look at the bright red apple. My eyes narrow and the apple is thrown across the field. I close my eyes and breathe in, smelling the freshly cut grass. I awake with a jolt in the middle of the field. That was a weird dream. It s times like right now when I m the most relaxed. Yes I understand, I just threw something across the field in my dream by using my mind and I m not even questioning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 37. Healthcare Coverage of the Americans Legislative Position: When U.S. President Barrack Obama signed the health care reform bill into law in March 2010, opposing political pundits were quick to brand the initiative as government takeover of the healthcare system and pejoratively described it as socialized medicine. I considered it my civic duty to look a little deeper into the pros and cons of the issue as earlier research findings had reported 45,000 Americans died annually for lack of health care coverage (Robertson, 2009). The first amazing fact I discovered is that every modern westernized country, with the exception of the United States, broadly accepts and runs some form of socialized medicine. England passed their National Health Service (NHS) Act in 1948, and from that year has provided free physician and hospital services for all her citizens. Government takeover is a concept that contributed to the European approach where government not only owns the hospitals but doctors are also public employees. The health reform bill was enacted by the Congress based largely on the free market and has been criticized for significantly enhancing government regulation of health insurers. However, critics of this law have failed to highlight that it established a system that relies on private companies and the government neither nationalized doctors, nor seized control of institutions offering health care to citizens. Since the law established exchanges that drove private insurers to compete to provide coverage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. My Adventure Of Friendship Sitting in front of the computer, I typed in the very first letters that began my adventure of endless exploration, discovery and creation. Two words flashed before me on the screen. Hello World . Perhaps, that s where my journey began. It was fourteen years ago that I was first introduced to these wonderful machines called computers. One fine day, all of a sudden, my father reeled in a bulky grayish yellow box. Although it seemed quite intimidating and dull at first, we became the best of friends spending majority of our time together, him seated elegantly on the desk and I, who had somehow managed to squish myself in the drawer of the same. At that time, I barely understood the potential that box of mysteries held. Nevertheless, every click, every window even those annoying popup adverts amused me. Yet fate brought our friendship to a standstill when I went back to my home country, India after having lived and studied in Saudi Arab since birth. It wasn t until 6 years later that it decided to greet me again. Our meeting felt quite surreal. Fumbling around in my mother s prized bookshelf, the then nine year old me discovered a treasure. It s pages were tinted and torn but its cover had the picture of my estranged friend and a cryptic acronym HTML . After going through its pages for an hour, I finally decided to type out whatever knowledge I had acquired on my mother s laptop. Twenty minutes later, my most treasured masterpiece was ready my first webpage . It was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
