Aes (USA): IPL announces agreement to acquire solar project in Clinton County
Indianapolis Power & Light Company, a subsidiary of the AES Corporation,
announced an agreement to acquire a 195 megawatt solar project. Expected to be
completed in 2023, the solar project will be located in Clinton County, Ind., and
Invenergy will develop the project and manage construction. Once operating, the
solar facility will generate enough electricity to power more than 30,000 homes.
The acquisition agreement is subject to approval from the Indiana Utility
Regulatory Commission. Through its recent Integrated Resource Plan, IPL
identified a need for new generation resources to serve our customers' needs. An
extensive process which included an all-source request for proposals led IPL to
Chicago-based Invenergy, a leading global developer and operator of sustainable
energy solutions with extensive experience in solar generation. In addition to
providing affordable, renewable energy and diversifying IPL's portfolio, the solar
project will create 200 temporary construction jobs and provide landowners in the
area lasting economic benefits.
Executive Commentary
"The recent advancements in digital technologies and renewable energy give
our customers a wide variety of options when it comes to how they power
their homes and businesses," said. "Gone are the days when customers had to
choose between reliability, affordability and sustainability. Now they can have
all three, and this solar project is a great example of how IPL can help our
customers achieve their most important personal and business objectives."

Ameren (USA) Missouri continues to expand clean energy with acquisition of second
wind energy generation facility
Ameren Missouri, a subsidiary of Ameren Corporation, closed on the acquisition of the company's second wind
energy center, a 300-megawatt (MW) project located in northwest Missouri. Clean, renewable energy from the
facility is already reaching customers, even as construction continues on some of the project turbines.
Approximately 100 MW are now in-service, with an additional 50 MW to 75 MW expected by the end of March.
The remaining 125 to 150 MW are expected to be operational later this year. The new Atchison Renewable
Energy Center, along with the 400 MW High Prairie Renewable Energy Center that Ameren Missouri began
operating in December, will add 700 MW of in-state wind generation to the grid. The total investment in these
two projects is approximately $1.1 billion. The new energy centers are the first of many renewable energy
additions anticipated by Ameren Missouri. The company recently released plans to invest approximately $4.5
billion in 3,100 MW of renewable generation by 2030, including the Atchison and High Prairie renewable energy
centers. The remaining portion of the Atchison Renewable Energy Center wind facility is still being constructed
by Invenergy. It is the fourth utility-scale wind energy facility operating in the county, which will soon have a
combined wind generation capacity of approximately 800 MW, the most of any county in Missouri. Ameren
Missouri is dedicated to supporting the communities where it serves or operates. Recent philanthropic recipients
in the area include Tarkio Tech to support its wind energy technician training program and the East Atchison
Wolves Football Team Booster Club. Ameren Missouri has been providing electric and gas service for more than
100 years, and the company's electric rates are among the lowest in the nation. Ameren Missouri's mission is to
power the quality of life for its 1.2 million electric and 132,000 natural gas customers in central and eastern
Missouri. The company's service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 communities, including the greater
St. Louis area.
Executive Commentary
"Missouri-based clean energy is good for our customers, the environment and the economy," said chief
renewable development officer at Ameren Missouri. "The ongoing operation of these facilities is the next
step in getting the energy we provide as clean as we can, as fast as we can, without compromising on
reliability or affordability."

American Electric (USA): Aep to Sell Racine Hydro Plant
American Electric Power has reached an agreement to sell its
48-megawatt (MW) hydroelectric Racine Plant in Racine, Ohio, owned
by AEP Generation Resources, the company’s competitive generation
affiliate, to Eagle Creek Renewable Energy. The sale of Racine is
expected to close in the second quarter of 2021 and is subject to approval
by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Due to the competitive
nature of the transaction, the sale price will not be disclosed. AEP
Generation Resources has retired or sold all of its capacity, except for the
595-MW Cardinal Plant Unit 1, which is set to retire in 2030, consistent
with AEP’s move to exit the competitive generation business. Scotiabank
is acting as AEP's financial advisor, and Porter Wright is serving as legal
counsel for the sale process. Eagle Creek Renewable Energy owns and
operates 86 hydroelectric facilities in the United States.
Executive Commentary
“The sale of Racine Plant is part of our ongoing strategic evaluation
of our generating assets as we focus on our regulated business
operations and invest in the infrastructure and energy innovations that
bring value to our customers,” said AEP chairman, president and
chief executive officer. “We continue to add new emission-free
energy both in our regulated states and through contracted renewable
projects that fit with our overall strategy and portfolio.”

Dominion (USA) Energy Acquires Solar Energy Project in Ohio from Invenergy
Dominion Energy announced that one of its subsidiaries has acquired the
150-megawatt (AC) Hardin solar generating facility, which recently entered
service in Hardin County, Ohio, from Chicago-based Invenergy. This marks
Dominion Energy's first solar energy investment in Ohio, where the
company owns and operates a Cleveland-based natural gas local
distribution company serving 1.2 million customer accounts in, principally,
northeastern Ohio. Dominion owns solar arrays in nine other states,
including in North Carolina, South Carolina and Utah, where the company
also owns and operates gas utilities. Dominion Energy closed on the
acquisition in 2020, and construction activities were completed in
December. Dominion Energy has more than 2,200 megawatts of solar
generating capacity in operation with nearly 3,500 megawatts of capacity in
development. In 2020, S&P Global ranked Dominion Energy's solar
portfolio third among utility holding companies in the U.S.
Executive Commentary
"With this solar project, Dominion Energy is expanding our solar
generating portfolio into Ohio, where we have a deep history of serving
our customers and communities through our local distribution
business," said executive vice president and chief operating officer. "We
continue to acquire and/or develop clean energy projects for companies
like Facebook that are looking to reduce their carbon footprints and to
contribute to combating climate change. And we are proud to build on
our Invenergy partnership that has already produced nearly 100
megawatts of solar generating capacity elsewhere."

Duke Energy (USA) partners with GIC to secure minority investment in Duke
Energy Indiana, increases long-term EPS growth rate
Duke Energy, alongside GIC, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement for an
acquisition of a 19.9 percent interest in Duke Energy Indiana (DEI), a subsidiary of Duke Energy, by
an affiliate of GIC Private Limited, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund and an experienced investor in
U.S. infrastructure. Duke Energy also announced its 2021 adjusted earnings per share (EPS) guidance
range of $5.00 to $5.30. The transaction with GIC bolsters the company’s growth potential and
supports its increased long-term adjusted EPS growth rate of 5 to 7% through 2025, based off of a
2021 adjusted EPS midpoint of $5.15. This is up from the previously stated 4 to 6% rate. Under the
terms of the agreement, GIC will acquire a 19.9 percent indirect minority interest in Duke Energy
Indiana for a total purchase price of $2.05 billion, a significant premium to Duke Energy’s current
public equity valuation. Proceeds from the transaction will fund Duke Energy’s increased $58 to $60
billion capital plan – a five-year plan that will accelerate its clean energy transition – and redeploy
capital to support increased growth investments within its portfolio of regulated utilities. With this
source of capital and increased financial strength, Duke Energy will continue providing reliable
service and investing in important energy infrastructure while maintaining affordable rates for
customers. Given the innovative transaction structure, Duke Energy will receive proceeds in two,
separate phases to efficiently align with the company’s capital needs. The transaction allows Duke
Energy to forego its previously announced plan to raise $1 billion of common equity. Duke Energy
will continue to operate DEI with its best-in-class workforce and will remain the majority owner, with
an 80.1 percent stake in the business.
Executive Commentary
“We are pleased to have GIC as a long-term investor in DEI,” said Duke Energy’s chair, president
and chief executive officer. “This agreement with GIC allows Duke Energy to not only partner
with a highly respected global investor, it also strengthens our confidence as we increase our
long-term adjusted EPS growth rate to 5 to 7 percent. With this agreement, Duke Energy is well
positioned to effectively finance our robust investment plan in a clean energy future and continue
delivering sustainable value to our investors.”

Sempra Energy (USA): SoCalGas to Provide Over $1 Million to Fund Research &
Development of Hydrogen to Fuel Commercial Transportation
Southern California Gas Co. announced it will provide $1.3 million to fund the development of four
hydrogen fuel technologies that could provide emissions-free transportation for railways and at ports in
California and around the world. The funding will help bring to market innovative clean hydrogen
technologies, including fuel-cell marine vessels, hydrogen refueling stations at ports, and fuel cell
locomotives. The four projects were selected for funding through the California Energy Commission's
(CEC), Hydrogen Fuel Cell Demonstrations in Rail and Marine Applications at Ports (H2RAM) grant
program. In addition to $1.3 million in funding from SoCalGas, the CEC will provide over $10.4 million to
fund the research and development of these projects – bringing the total funding to approximately $11.7
million. Project partners include maritime fuel cell maker Golden Gate Zero Emission Marine Inc., research
organization Gas Technology Institute (GTI), and non-profit CALSTART. In addition to this funding,
SoCalGas is advancing numerous low- and zero-carbon energy technologies. Late last year, the company
announced the creation of a Hydrogen Blending Demonstration Program to study blending hydrogen in its
gas system, so it can ultimately recommend a hydrogen injection standard for regulatory approval. It also
announced it will build a home to demonstrate, in a microgrid setting, the use of hydrogen produced from
solar energy. Called the "H2 Hydrogen Home," the project will use solar panels to create electricity that can
be used to produce green hydrogen via electrolysis. The hydrogen will be blended with natural gas for the
home's appliances as well as converted back to electricity using a residential fuel cell. In addition,
SoCalGas will field test a new technology that separates and compresses hydrogen from a blend of
hydrogen and natural gas, allowing hydrogen to be delivered wherever a natural gas distribution system
exists.
Executive Commentary
"SoCalGas is thrilled to support these important hydrogen technology projects," said vice president of
clean energy innovations at SoCalGas. "Projects like these have the potential to create more
zero-emissions transportation and reduce the cost of hydrogen fueling infrastructure, consistent with
California's climate goals. SoCalGas remains committed to helping California reach these goals and
our support of innovative clean fuel projects like these demonstrates that commitment."

Gas Natural Fenosa (Spain): Naturgy finalizes the start-up of the first installation
to inject renewable gas from landfills into the distribution network
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

Solution Description
Naturgy is finalizing the commissioning of the first installation to inject renewable gas from landfills into the gas distribution network. This facility, located in the Parc
de l'Alba de Cerdanyola del Vallés (Barcelona) next to the Elena waste dump, will involve an investment of 2.2 million euros and will produce 12 GWh / year of
biomethane that will be injected into the network, which is equivalent to the annual consumption of 3,200 homes, and will avoid the emission into the atmosphere of
2,400 tons of CO 2 / year. there was an institutional visit to the works of this new plant, which was attended by the CEO of Nedgia, the Naturgy gas distribution company,
Narcís de Carreras, the Minister of Enterprise and Coneixement, Ramón Tremosa, the general director of Energy, Seguretat Industrial i Seguretat Minera, Manel Torrent,
the mayor of Cerdanyola del Vallés, Carlos Cordón, as well as the director of the Urbanistic Consortium of the Directional Center of Cerdanyola del Vallès del Parc de
l'Alba, Pere Solà, which is where the installation is located. With this new project, the company takes a further step in its commitment to the energy transition and the
circular economy, while at the forefront of innovation in order to develop this important energy vector. It is worth highlighting the company's ability to carry out this type
of project thanks to the strength of its distribution network, which is prepared to be able to distribute renewable gases thanks to the investments made in recent years, the
existing gas infrastructure in Spain and its contribution to security of supply. In the case of the Nedgia network in Catalonia, widely developed throughout the territory,
it is very close to the main areas potentially generating biomethane (slurry farms and wastewater treatment plants), which makes it highly attractive for use. of biogas.
Thanks to this type of project, which places the company at the forefront of innovation in order to develop this growth vector and which can make the town a benchmark
in new technologies, it is possible to improve the development of renewable gas and its commercialization, since it allows to test different models of relationship with
the agents involved.

Fortum has finished the construction of two new wind parks in the
Nordics
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
21
Solution Description
Fortum is growing its wind power portfolio in the Nordics with two newly commissioned wind power parks, Kalax in Finland and Sørfjord in Norway. Both
are now producing clean energy for the Nordic market. According to the company’s new joint strategy with Uniper, wind power will be one of the key growth
areas in the future. Kalax in Närpes, on the west coast of Finland, is Fortum’s first large-scale wind park in Finland. The Kalax wind park’s total capacity is
90 MW and, with its annual production exceeding 0.3 TWh, it has the highest annual production of all wind parks commissioned in Finland in 2020. The
construction was finished on schedule and according to the plans. The wind park is jointly owned by Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) and Fortum, and
Fortum took over responsibility for asset management of the wind park after commissioning. 70% of the renewable wind power it produces is sold directly
to the Finnish energy company Neste through a long-term agreement. Sørfjord located in a remote area in north-western Norway, in Hamarøy region, is a
large, 99-MW wind park. The construction on top of a mountain was an extraordinary project requiring extensive planning. As agreed in December 2019,
EIP, on behalf of its clients, invested in an 80% share of the wind park after commissioning, and the wind park joined Fortum and EIP’s joint portfolio on 20
January 2021 with Fortum taking a role in asset management of the wind park. In Fortum’s updated strategy, published in December, wind power and other
CO2-free sources of energy play a significant role. Fortum is currently developing new opportunities for wind power in Finland, Sweden, and Norway. In
Russia, Fortum is the largest producer of wind power. In cooperation with its subsidiary Uniper, Fortum will be looking for opportunities to develop wind
power also in other European countries.

Fortum expands its EV battery recycling operations with a new mechanical
processing plant in Finland
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
22
Solution Description
Fortum announced the further expansion of its battery recycling operations. In February 2021, Fortum will open a new mechanical recycling processing plant located in
Ikaalinen, Finland. The new plant, which is expected to employ up to 20 employees, will complement Fortum’s existing hydrometallurgical pilot facility in Harjavalta,
Finland, which is already capable of operating on an industrial scale. The world will increasingly need sustainable raw materials for EV batteries, as the electrification
of cars is rapidly increasing the need for the valuable materials and chemical elements that batteries contain, such as lithium, nickel, cobalt and manganese. In addition,
a recent EU directive proposal will also require improved collection targets, higher recovery rates and the increased use of recycled raw materials in new batteries.
Fortum, a leading European energy company, is committed to engage its customers and societies to decarbonise and to help them in decreasing their environmental
footprints. Moving forward, CO2-neutral societies will rely on battery technology. Fortum has been developing new and increasingly efficient ways to optimise the entire
lifecycle of lithium-ion batteries for several years now and aims to further expand its battery operations in the coming years. Partnering with industrial and infrastructure
customers is one of Fortum’s strategic priorities. The global lithium-ion battery recycling market was worth about EUR 1.3 billion in 2019, but it is expected to boom in
the coming years to more than EUR 20 billion. According to a forecast by the International Energy Agency, the number of electric vehicles on the world’s roads will
increase from three million to 125 million by 2030. Many current operators that recycle battery metals often do so by smelting, which results in lower material recovery
rates and higher emissions. In order to recycle used lithium-ion batteries efficiently, safely and with the lowest possible CO2 footprint, Fortum has taken an approach that
includes using both mechanical and hydrometallurgical methods for the recycling process; this approach can reach a recovery rate of up to 95% of the metals included
in the valuable active materials of a battery’s black mass.

Solution Description
The LNG tanker LNG Rosenrot is now complete and will be delivered to Uniper in South Korea. Uniper will become the ship's first charterer
as part of a transport service contract that covers multiple trips. The shipbuilders, South Korean company Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine
Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME), handed over the approximately 300-m-long and 50-m-wide transport ship for liquefied natural gas (LNG) to
the joint venture company owned by the two Japanese companies that ordered its construction—Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) and Itochu
Corporation—at the Okpo shipyard in South Korea. The new LNG ship will join a sister LNG ship currently used by Uniper. LNG is a sector
that Uniper has identified as a strategic growth area and that has undergone significant expansion in recent years. 225 cargos were traded in
2020, compared to 134 in the previous year. The Asia-Pacific region in particular has seen strong growth in the LNG trade in recent times:
Uniper traded around two-thirds of its volumes of LNG in this region last year. This second transport contract with MOL has increased the
LNG transport capacity available to Uniper and will help the company to grow its presence in the LNG sector, while also increasing the
flexibility of its LNG portfolio. LNG Rosenrot and other vessels of this type can transport around 180,000 m3 of LNG at speeds of up to 19.5
knots. The energy onboard is enough to supply approximately 65,000 single-family homes for a year.

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) – the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies – has named Alliant Energy and ITC as recipients of EEI’s
Emergency Response Award for working collaboratively to restore electricity following the August 10 derecho. Presented to EEI member companies, Emergency Response
Awards recognize electric companies for their recovery and assistance efforts following service disruptions caused by extreme weather or other natural events. The winners,
chosen by a panel of judges following an international nomination process, were announced during EEI’s virtual Winter Board and Chief Executives Meeting. With an estimated
$11 billion in damage, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has categorized the derecho as the second costliest weather disaster of 2020 and the most-costly
thunderstorm in U.S. history. The unprecedented storm severely impacted the heart of the Alliant Energy and ITC Midwest service territories in Iowa, causing major property
destruction and widespread power outages. ITC Midwest sustained damage to more than 30 percent of its electric transmission system or approximately 2,100 circuit miles of
lines, with 37 percent of the Alliant Energy distribution system impacted. In all, more than 256,000 Alliant Energy customers in 341 communities were initially without power.
Alliant Energy and ITC mobilized more than 2,400 utility workers from 25 states and Canada to supplement their normal crews and personnel to support the restoration effort.
Between the two companies, more than 4,800 poles and structures were replaced. While utility crews worked day and night to restore all services, they also focused on staying
safe and healthy, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The crews rose to the challenge to restore the transmission and distribution systems as quickly and safely as
possible. Within eight days following the storm, ITC Midwest had restored transmission service to the distribution utilities it serves, while Alliant Energy had restored electric
service to approximately 90 percent of its customers. By August 26, all Alliant Energy customers once again had power available.

SoCalGas Data Analytics Team Named Most Innovative in the U.S.
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
37
Southern California Gas Co. announced that its data analytics work has been recognized as the most innovative among over 150 utilities across the U.S. and
the world by the Utility Analytics Institute (UAI). The UAI praised SoCalGas' use of data analytics to increase safety, save money for its customers, improve
customer service, help conserve energy, and cut greenhouse gas emissions. Increased energy conservation is among the many benefits of SoCalGas' data
analytics work. For example, the utility's data analytics team developed a way to identify customers who were less likely to conserve energy during a winter
cold snap, allowing the company to target those households with reminders of the tools and information available to help them manage their natural gas use.
This initiative is now saving these targeted customers over 300,000 therms of energy every year, reducing the bills of as many as 100,000 customers and
decreasing greenhouse gas emissions. These reductions are among the more than 36.5 million therms SoCalGas helped natural gas users conserve through
energy efficiency last year—saving customers more than $64 million and reducing carbon emissions linked to climate change by nearly 193,000 metric tons,
the equivalent of taking 42,000 cars off the road for a year. SoCalGas is also using data analytics to increase the safety of its employees and customers, and
the new safety challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic provide one example: Since the pandemic began, data analytics have allowed pinpoint accuracy
in predicting the number and location of customer service orders, allowing for highly effective inventory management of Personal Protective Equipment as
well as appropriate staffing at the 75 facilities across SoCalGas' 24,000 square mile service territory.

EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG and Energiekontor AG have again concluded a long-term power purchase agreement
(PPA) for a solar park planned by Energiekontor. The solar park, which Energiekontor is planning to build in the municipality
of Dettmannsdorf in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, east of Rostock, is to produce around 55.5 gigawatt hours of
electricity per year with an installed capacity of approximately 52.3 megawatts. This is enough to cover the annual electricity
needs of around 18,500 households. Construction is scheduled to begin in autumn 2021. Commissioning is scheduled for the
second quarter of 2022. The power purchase agreement now concluded between EnBW and Energiekontor is the second
between the two partners. The PPA concluded in 2019 was the first of its kind ever in Germany. A PPA allows Energiekontor
to build and operate the solar park without EEG subsidies. The latest agreement stipulates that EnBW will purchase 100 per
cent of the electricity at a fixed price. Within the agreed contract period of 15 years, the two companies assume a total
produced electricity volume of around 830 gigawatt hours.

EnBW (Germany) and bp to jointly develop offshore wind farms in the UK
following key auction win
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
47
Karlsruhe-based EnBW and bp plan to jointly develop offshore wind farms off the coasts of Great Britain in a 50:50 partnership. An
important first milestone has now been reached: In the auction for the award of seabed rights by The Crown Estate in the UK, the two
partners secured two large areas in the Irish Sea that are estimated to be the highest-value areas in the first auction of offshore wind rights
in England and Wales for ten years. EnBW and bp plan to build two offshore wind farms there with a combined capacity of three
gigawatts, that is enough to power the equivalent of 3.4 million households. The Crown Estate (TCE), the British state property
management organisation, had selected a total of four areas within which six project areas were awarded to bidders. EnBW and bp were
able to outbid a prestigious field of competitors. Securing seabed rights is a necessary precondition for developing an offshore wind farm.
After a habitats regulations assessment, which is scheduled to take one year, EnBW and bp will sign an agreement for lease and then
coordinate with local stakeholders, conduct further environmental and habitat assessments, and apply for approval of the specific projects.
Only when this consent has been applied obtained can the partners apply for a government-backed feed-in tariff and sign the final lease.
On this basis, the two companies then still have to make their investment decisions.

EnBW (Germany) signs contract to phase out brown coal
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

EnBW has co-signed the contract regulated by public law between the federal government and the power plant
operators to phase out the use of brown coal. The risk to EnBW of compensation claims potentially being lodged by
Mibrag AG as the supplier of brown coal was eliminated beforehand. For EnBW, the contract means that the
company’s sole brown coal block – Lippendorf Block S – will be decommissioned by no later than the end of 2035 with
no compensation payments. Due to the fact that the talks to exclude the possibility of compensation claims have only
recently been concluded, the EnBW Supervisory Board has not yet had an opportunity to examine the agreement. The
signature is therefore still subject to the corresponding approval of the board.

Gas Natural Fenosa (Spain): Waga Energy, Ferrovial Servicios and Nedgia join forces
to produce biomethane at the Can Mata controlled deposit, near Barcelona
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
49
Ferrovial Servicios, one of the main international benchmarks in providing services to cities and infrastructures, has partnered with Waga Energy, a specialist in the recovery of
landfill biogas, to produce biomethane from the biogas generated in the Can Mata controlled deposit, located in Els Hostalets de Pierola, near Barcelona. The Can Mata site will
be the first in Spain to have WAGABOX® purification technology, developed by Waga Energy to valorize biogas from waste deposited in landfills in the form of biomethane,
a renewable substitute for natural gas. This purification technology for biomethane production will start up in 2022. It will process up to 2,200 m3 / h of biogas and inject 70
GWh of biomethane per year into the gas network of the Spanish operator Nedgia (a subsidiary of the Naturgy group), which is equivalent to to the annual energy consumption
of 14,000 Spanish homes or a fleet of 200 trucks. The project will avoid the emission of 17,000 tons of CO2 per year by replacing natural gas with renewable gas. This is the
first landfill gas biomethane injection project financed through a long-term power purchase agreement in Europe. This type of agreement - known as "Power Purchase
Agreement" (PPA) - is very common in renewable electricity projects, not being the case for renewable gas projects given the difficulty for the biomethane producer to reach a
sale price agreement long-term that is attractive enough. The formalization of this long-term purchase agreement (PPA) has been made possible thanks to the efficiency of
WAGABOX® technology, Waga Energy's unique experience in landfill gas biomethane injection projects and more than 50 years of experience Ferrovial Services in the
treatment and recovery of waste. The two partners have adopted a business model that guarantees high performance throughout the project: Waga Energy will purchase part of
the biogas from the Can Mata site from Ferrovial Servicios and will be responsible for all aspects of the project: financing, construction and operation of the WAGABOX®
unit, relations with the gas network operator and marketing of biomethane. Waga Energy will invest 7.5 million euros in the commissioning of the purification unit and in
connecting the site to the network of the operator Nedgia, which will build more than 4 kilometers of pipeline to connect the installation to the distribution network.

  • 6. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consec- tetuer Financial, M&A Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Aes (USA): IPL announces agreement to acquire solar project in Clinton County Indianapolis Power & Light Company, a subsidiary of the AES Corporation, announced an agreement to acquire a 195 megawatt solar project. Expected to be completed in 2023, the solar project will be located in Clinton County, Ind., and Invenergy will develop the project and manage construction. Once operating, the solar facility will generate enough electricity to power more than 30,000 homes. The acquisition agreement is subject to approval from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. Through its recent Integrated Resource Plan, IPL identified a need for new generation resources to serve our customers' needs. • 12. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consec- tetuer Financial, M&A Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Duke Energy (USA) partners with GIC to secure minority investment in Duke Energy Indiana, increases long-term EPS growth rate Duke Energy, alongside GIC, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement for an acquisition of a 19.9 percent interest in Duke Energy Indiana (DEI), a subsidiary of Duke Energy, by an affiliate of GIC Private Limited, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund and an experienced investor in U.S. infrastructure. Duke Energy also announced its 2021 adjusted earnings per share (EPS) guidance range of $5.00 to $5.30. The transaction with GIC bolsters the company’s growth potential and supports its increased long-term adjusted EPS growth rate of 5 to 7% through 2025, based off of a 2021 adjusted EPS midpoint of $5.15. This is up from the previously stated 4 to 6% rate. Under the terms of the agreement, GIC will acquire a 19.9 percent indirect minority interest in Duke Energy Indiana for a total purchase price of $2.05 billion, a significant premium to Duke Energy’s current public equity valuation. Proceeds from the transaction will fund Duke Energy’s increased $58 to $60 billion capital plan – a five-year plan that will accelerate its clean energy transition – and redeploy capital to support increased growth investments within its portfolio of regulated utilities. With this source of capital and increased financial strength, Duke Energy will continue providing reliable service and investing in important energy infrastructure while maintaining affordable rates for customers. Given the innovative transaction structure, Duke Energy will receive proceeds in two, separate phases to efficiently align with the company’s capital needs. The transaction allows Duke Energy to forego its previously announced plan to raise $1 billion of common equity. Duke Energy will continue to operate DEI with its best-in-class workforce and will remain the majority owner, with an 80.1 percent stake in the business. Executive Commentary “We are pleased to have GIC as a long-term investor in DEI,” said Duke Energy’s chair, president and chief executive officer. “This agreement with GIC allows Duke Energy to not only partner with a highly respected global investor, it also strengthens our confidence as we increase our long-term adjusted EPS growth rate to 5 to 7 percent. With this agreement, Duke Energy is well positioned to effectively finance our robust investment plan in a clean energy future and continue delivering sustainable value to our investors.” For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com Description 7

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Fortum has finished the construction of two new wind parks in the Nordics For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 21 Solution Description Fortum is growing its wind power portfolio in the Nordics with two newly commissioned wind power parks, Kalax in Finland and Sørfjord in Norway. Both are now producing clean energy for the Nordic market. According to the company’s new joint strategy with Uniper, wind power will be one of the key growth areas in the future. Kalax in Närpes, on the west coast of Finland, is Fortum’s first large-scale wind park in Finland. The Kalax wind park’s total capacity is 90 MW and, with its annual production exceeding 0.3 TWh, it has the highest annual production of all wind parks commissioned in Finland in 2020. The construction was finished on schedule and according to the plans. The wind park is jointly owned by Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) and Fortum, and Fortum took over responsibility for asset management of the wind park after commissioning. 70% of the renewable wind power it produces is sold directly to the Finnish energy company Neste through a long-term agreement. Sørfjord located in a remote area in north-western Norway, in Hamarøy region, is a large, 99-MW wind park. The construction on top of a mountain was an extraordinary project requiring extensive planning. As agreed in December 2019, EIP, on behalf of its clients, invested in an 80% share of the wind park after commissioning, and the wind park joined Fortum and EIP’s joint portfolio on 20 January 2021 with Fortum taking a role in asset management of the wind park. In Fortum’s updated strategy, published in December, wind power and other CO2-free sources of energy play a significant role. Fortum is currently developing new opportunities for wind power in Finland, Sweden, and Norway. In Russia, Fortum is the largest producer of wind power. In cooperation with its subsidiary Uniper, Fortum will be looking for opportunities to develop wind power also in other European countries.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Fortum expands its EV battery recycling operations with a new mechanical processing plant in Finland For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 22 Solution Description Fortum announced the further expansion of its battery recycling operations. In February 2021, Fortum will open a new mechanical recycling processing plant located in Ikaalinen, Finland. The new plant, which is expected to employ up to 20 employees, will complement Fortum’s existing hydrometallurgical pilot facility in Harjavalta, Finland, which is already capable of operating on an industrial scale. The world will increasingly need sustainable raw materials for EV batteries, as the electrification of cars is rapidly increasing the need for the valuable materials and chemical elements that batteries contain, such as lithium, nickel, cobalt and manganese. In addition, a recent EU directive proposal will also require improved collection targets, higher recovery rates and the increased use of recycled raw materials in new batteries. Fortum, a leading European energy company, is committed to engage its customers and societies to decarbonise and to help them in decreasing their environmental footprints. Moving forward, CO2-neutral societies will rely on battery technology. Fortum has been developing new and increasingly efficient ways to optimise the entire lifecycle of lithium-ion batteries for several years now and aims to further expand its battery operations in the coming years. Partnering with industrial and infrastructure customers is one of Fortum’s strategic priorities. The global lithium-ion battery recycling market was worth about EUR 1.3 billion in 2019, but it is expected to boom in the coming years to more than EUR 20 billion. According to a forecast by the International Energy Agency, the number of electric vehicles on the world’s roads will increase from three million to 125 million by 2030. Many current operators that recycle battery metals often do so by smelting, which results in lower material recovery rates and higher emissions. In order to recycle used lithium-ion batteries efficiently, safely and with the lowest possible CO2 footprint, Fortum has taken an approach that includes using both mechanical and hydrometallurgical methods for the recycling process; this approach can reach a recovery rate of up to 95% of the metals included in the valuable active materials of a battery’s black mass.

R & R Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable SoCalGas Data Analytics Team Named Most Innovative in the U.S. For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 37 Southern California Gas Co. announced that its data analytics work has been recognized as the most innovative among over 150 utilities across the U.S. and the world by the Utility Analytics Institute (UAI). The UAI praised SoCalGas' use of data analytics to increase safety, save money for its customers, improve customer service, help conserve energy, and cut greenhouse gas emissions. Increased energy conservation is among the many benefits of SoCalGas' data analytics work. For example, the utility's data analytics team developed a way to identify customers who were less likely to conserve energy during a winter cold snap, allowing the company to target those households with reminders of the tools and information available to help them manage their natural gas use. This initiative is now saving these targeted customers over 300,000 therms of energy every year, reducing the bills of as many as 100,000 customers and decreasing greenhouse gas emissions. These reductions are among the more than 36.5 million therms SoCalGas helped natural gas users conserve through energy efficiency last year—saving customers more than $64 million and reducing carbon emissions linked to climate change by nearly 193,000 metric tons, the equivalent of taking 42,000 cars off the road for a year. SoCalGas is also using data analytics to increase the safety of its employees and customers, and the new safety challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic provide one example: Since the pandemic began, data analytics have allowed pinpoint accuracy in predicting the number and location of customer service orders, allowing for highly effective inventory management of Personal Protective Equipment as well as appropriate staffing at the 75 facilities across SoCalGas' 24,000 square mile service territory. Customer Success Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable EnBW (Germany) and Energiekontor conclude another long-term power purchase agreement for a large solar park For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 41 EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG and Energiekontor AG have again concluded a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for a solar park planned by Energiekontor. The solar park, which Energiekontor is planning to build in the municipality of Dettmannsdorf in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, east of Rostock, is to produce around 55.5 gigawatt hours of electricity per year with an installed capacity of approximately 52.3 megawatts. This is enough to cover the annual electricity needs of around 18,500 households. Construction is scheduled to begin in autumn 2021. Commissioning is scheduled for the second quarter of 2022. The power purchase agreement now concluded between EnBW and Energiekontor is the second between the two partners. The PPA concluded in 2019 was the first of its kind ever in Germany. A PPA allows Energiekontor to build and operate the solar park without EEG subsidies. The latest agreement stipulates that EnBW will purchase 100 per cent of the electricity at a fixed price. Within the agreed contract period of 15 years, the two companies assume a total produced electricity volume of around 830 gigawatt hours. Description

  • 56. Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable EnBW (Germany) and bp to jointly develop offshore wind farms in the UK following key auction win For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 47 Karlsruhe-based EnBW and bp plan to jointly develop offshore wind farms off the coasts of Great Britain in a 50:50 partnership. An important first milestone has now been reached: In the auction for the award of seabed rights by The Crown Estate in the UK, the two partners secured two large areas in the Irish Sea that are estimated to be the highest-value areas in the first auction of offshore wind rights in England and Wales for ten years. EnBW and bp plan to build two offshore wind farms there with a combined capacity of three gigawatts, that is enough to power the equivalent of 3.4 million households. The Crown Estate (TCE), the British state property management organisation, had selected a total of four areas within which six project areas were awarded to bidders. EnBW and bp were able to outbid a prestigious field of competitors. Securing seabed rights is a necessary precondition for developing an offshore wind farm. After a habitats regulations assessment, which is scheduled to take one year, EnBW and bp will sign an agreement for lease and then coordinate with local stakeholders, conduct further environmental and habitat assessments, and apply for approval of the specific projects. Only when this consent has been applied obtained can the partners apply for a government-backed feed-in tariff and sign the final lease. On this basis, the two companies then still have to make their investment decisions. Description
  • 57. Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable EnBW (Germany) signs contract to phase out brown coal For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 48 EnBW has co-signed the contract regulated by public law between the federal government and the power plant operators to phase out the use of brown coal. The risk to EnBW of compensation claims potentially being lodged by Mibrag AG as the supplier of brown coal was eliminated beforehand. For EnBW, the contract means that the company’s sole brown coal block – Lippendorf Block S – will be decommissioned by no later than the end of 2035 with no compensation payments. Due to the fact that the talks to exclude the possibility of compensation claims have only recently been concluded, the EnBW Supervisory Board has not yet had an opportunity to examine the agreement. The signature is therefore still subject to the corresponding approval of the board. Description
  • 58. Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Gas Natural Fenosa (Spain): Waga Energy, Ferrovial Servicios and Nedgia join forces to produce biomethane at the Can Mata controlled deposit, near Barcelona For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 49 Ferrovial Servicios, one of the main international benchmarks in providing services to cities and infrastructures, has partnered with Waga Energy, a specialist in the recovery of landfill biogas, to produce biomethane from the biogas generated in the Can Mata controlled deposit, located in Els Hostalets de Pierola, near Barcelona. The Can Mata site will be the first in Spain to have WAGABOX® purification technology, developed by Waga Energy to valorize biogas from waste deposited in landfills in the form of biomethane, a renewable substitute for natural gas. This purification technology for biomethane production will start up in 2022. It will process up to 2,200 m3 / h of biogas and inject 70 GWh of biomethane per year into the gas network of the Spanish operator Nedgia (a subsidiary of the Naturgy group), which is equivalent to to the annual energy consumption of 14,000 Spanish homes or a fleet of 200 trucks. The project will avoid the emission of 17,000 tons of CO2 per year by replacing natural gas with renewable gas. This is the first landfill gas biomethane injection project financed through a long-term power purchase agreement in Europe. This type of agreement - known as "Power Purchase Agreement" (PPA) - is very common in renewable electricity projects, not being the case for renewable gas projects given the difficulty for the biomethane producer to reach a sale price agreement long-term that is attractive enough. The formalization of this long-term purchase agreement (PPA) has been made possible thanks to the efficiency of WAGABOX® technology, Waga Energy's unique experience in landfill gas biomethane injection projects and more than 50 years of experience Ferrovial Services in the treatment and recovery of waste. The two partners have adopted a business model that guarantees high performance throughout the project: Waga Energy will purchase part of the biogas from the Can Mata site from Ferrovial Servicios and will be responsible for all aspects of the project: financing, construction and operation of the WAGABOX® unit, relations with the gas network operator and marketing of biomethane. Waga Energy will invest 7.5 million euros in the commissioning of the purification unit and in connecting the site to the network of the operator Nedgia, which will build more than 4 kilometers of pipeline to connect the installation to the distribution network.
