Jesus Paschal Mystery Research Paper
Monday, pgs 95 105: All four of the Gospels in the New Testament depict Jesus Paschal Mystery. The
first part to that Paschal Mystery is Jesus Passion, which are the sufferings of Jesus during his final
few days on earth. The events that make up the Passion are important to the Catholic Faith. Those
events include: Jesus entering Jerusalem, The Last Supper, The Garden of Gethsemane, The Trial
before the Sanhedrin, The Trial before Pilate, The Scourging, The Crucifixion, and Jesus Death. A lot
of those events also make up the Stations of the Cross, which is a symbolic way of showing people
what Jesus went through during his last few hours of life. Jesus death is a main part to the Stations.
Catholics all around have a special Mass commemorating

Hosea 3 Essay
Hosea s marriage is symbolic to Israel s Unfaithfulness to God through their continuous Idolatry. God
s unwavering love is represented in the long suffering husband of the unfaithful wife. The purpose of
writing about Hosea s marriage was to provide an illustration of His relationship with the People of
Israel. In Hosea 3 shows the greatness of God s grace, when Hosea s wife left him and was living in
sin Hosea was commanded by the Lord to buy her back. This illustrated how Israel needs God s
intervention to restore their relationship. God desires our love over external spiritual practices. For I
delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, And in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings
(Hosea 6:6). God was going back to (Deut 6:5) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then GOD ordered me, Start all over: Love your wife again, your wife who s in bed with her latest
boyfriend, your cheating wife. Love her the way I, GOD, love the Israelite people, even as they flirt
and party with every god that takes their fancy (Hosea 3:1 MSG). Through Hosea, God says that Israel
had left Him to value Harlotry, wine and new wine (Hosea 4:11 NASB). In Verse 12 God makes it
clear that men and women were committing infidelity with cultic prostitutes in the worship of false
gods. Gomer was an appropriate representation of Israel because of the fleshly nature of idolatry that
the folks were committing. Their spiritual adultery gave rise to the physical act of adultery. Hosea
marriage is a lasting symbol of God s faithfulness and conditional redemption of His unfaithful
people, beforehand and presently, through Jesus Christ. God s words to ancient Israel ought to fill us
with hope: I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and in
justice, In lovingkindness and in compassion, 20And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then
you will know the LORD (Hosea 2:19 20

The Arms Race and How it Changed the United States of America
The Evil Empire that is what, at the height of the arms race, United States President Ronald Reagan
called the Soviet Union (Rudolph 1). Unsurprisingly, the Soviet Union was similarly upset at the
United States. This anger is what fueled the arms race. During the Cold War, due to fears of nuclear
attack, the US and Soviet Union designed and deployed thousands of nuclear warheads, each hoping
to deter the other from nuclear launch with threat of counter attack (O Neal 1). This massive arms
buildup, however, had many negative effects on the US. To recognize the impact that the arms race
continues to have on today, it is crucial to understand not only its causes, but also its immediate
impacts on the US economy, society, foreign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This preparation took the form of an arms race. The arms race was a competitive acquisition of
weapons by the Soviet Union and the United States. (Boilard 1). The strategy behind the arms race
was to amass more nuclear weapons than the opponent, thus enabling them to win any future nuclear
war. It was assumed that if nuclear war happened, then the country with the most nuclear weapons
would destroy more of the other country, consequently winning the war (Boilard 1). Under this
strategy, the Soviet Union built about 45,000 nuclear warheads, and obtained enough radioactive
materials to triple that. The Soviet Union also placed tactical missile sites in many countries from
Cuba to Kazakhstan, hoping to be able to perform a fast strike from close range if necessary (O Neal
1). Likewise, the US placed missiles in Europe and started the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI)
program. The SDI program was meant to defend against a nuclear attack. The SDI program included
satellites with lasers and nuclear powered railguns, which would ideally be able to shoot down
approaching missiles long before they reached their target. The SDI program was also referred to as
Star Wars because its use of lasers in space made it seem like science fiction. Furthermore, the price,
amount of electricity needed to power these weapons, and amount of research needed was so great that
the project was abandoned several billion dollars later (Rudolph 2). In essence, the

Proud Item Analysis
Proud Item:
Maha considers this item as one of her greatest achievements since it was the first medal she received
here in Canada. It must make a person extremely proud to receive an award in their first year in a
brand new country. Maha carried on to tell her class that she received the Greatest Strides Award in
elementary school after her recent arrival in Canada. When she moved from Saudi Arabia, it was her
first time attending a school here and everything was absolutely different in the education system to
her, how everything ran and how students were taught. The school she attended back in Saudi Arabia
had so many differences with the schools as she said it took time to adjust and fit in. Maha soon went
deeper into the subject by explaining that the school she went to, Ashgrove Public School gave out
year end awards which were the Citizenship Award, the Greatest Strides Award, and the Kindness and
Caring Award. Three students from every class would receive an award. Maha finished by mentioning
that this item was one she has always been and proud and will continue to appreciate this medal.
Place Item:
There are numerous places someone would like to visit someday in their life especially people who
like traveling and seeing new places. Being one those people Maha chose South Korea over all the
other places she would like to go to. To symbolize this country Maha brought in Korean Calligraphy
she had done in the past. She showed her favorite country through a creative

Shewin Memorandum 1
Heather M Fuller PA402: Employment Law Assignment: Shewin Memorandum #1 April 27, 2015
Anti discrimination laws cover categories that include race, gender, religion, age national origin, and
others. Ms. Shewin s case has several factors that could be split into the discrimination categories. The
first factor that can be considered is that Ms. Shewin is an African American. In the fact pattern is
states that there are only five African American senior managers in the company. This would fit into
the race discrimination category because the number of African American individuals that are in
senior management positions could be subject to the EEOA depending on the records kept by the
company. The gender category is also a factor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also helps to establish credibility because there were other people that saw and/or hear the same
comments or actions that you are trying to prove happened. It is always better to make sure that you

heard.
3. The type of compensation, or damages you can hope to recover?
I thought this would be a good question to ask because in the end, anyone who files a lawsuit is
looking to get something out of it. By the attorney asking what the clients expected outcome should
be, this allows the attorney to prepare the case in the correct manner. It also gives the attorney the
opportunity to talk with the client about what the realistic outcomes could be and how the process will
work.
4. Did you speak with Human Resources regarding the interview process?
This is a good question to ask the Ms. Shewin because if she went to the HR department or an upper
management person to talk to them about the inappropriate interview circumstances, then it give the
case more leverage that these alleged allegations did in fact take place and when they took place. This
also gives the attorney additional people to talk with to get a better understanding of what they thought
happened and if they tried to handle the situation.
5. Why do you feel that you did not get the job?
I would have the attorney ask this question

Analysis Of The Sun, Line, And Cave
Victoria McAlister
Professor Talcott
Ancient Philosophy
5 December 2014
Consistency in the Sun, Line, and Cave Plato s theory of the Forms showcases that acquiring
knowledge involves turning away from the world of senses and moving towards the Forms/world of
intellect. Within Plato s Republic there are three analogies: the sun, line, and cave, which are intended
to clarify how things experienced in the sensible world are less real than the Forms. All three
analogies are consistent through their descriptions of the differences between the intelligible and
sensible worlds. The usage of all three also enables Plato to guide readers through the knowledge
process, starting with a simple description of the sun and ending with a full example of how man can
reach that sun. Plato starts with the analogy of the sun, which points out the contrast between the
visible and the intelligible worlds. Within the visible world man has eyes and objects to be seen, but
man needs another object for the eyes to see the object. This object is the sun, which provides the light
that is required by the eye to view the visible world. In correspondence, the Form of the Good in the
intelligible world is equal to the sun by the way that the Good allows the forms to be known. Plato
specifically states, What gives truth to the things known and the power to know to the knower is the
Form of the Good. And though it is the cause of knowledge and truth, it is also an object of knowledge
(508e). Along with

Essay on Origin and Story of Soy Sauce
Imagine you are at you favorite Asian inspired restaurant with your friends. You just finished ordering
your food, when u look over and see that bottle of dark syrupy liquid off to the side. Known around
the world, Soy sauce is an international condiment that is used as a sauce, a condiment, as well as an
ingredient in plenty of dishes and recipes. Although this condiment is seen a lot in most Asian style
restaurants or even in packets from your Chinese take out place but it is used all over the world But
have you ever wanted to know exactly is soy sauce, or how its made and what gives it that dark color?
In this paper I will discuss and explain the origin of soy sauce, how its made and the different types of
soy sauce there are, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These merchants gave their new sauce a name which they hoped would catch on in their own language
and also help it to sell. Then they started to distribute it widely. By December 1750 it had reached the
North America, arriving first in New York Harbor bearing the name India Soy. (Shurtleff
Aoyagi,2012)
Now, I will explain the process of making soy sauce. Now we all know that soy sauce comes from soy
beans, but how is it turned into the dark syrupy liquid? These use a process called fermentation, which
a way of cooking a food using bacteria. There are two distinct ways to making soy sauce, there is the
traditional brewing fermentation and refining process, and then there is a chemical non brewing
process called chemical hydrolyzation. The fermentation method takes up to six months to complete
and results in a transparent, delicately colored broth with balanced flavor and aroma but the non
brewing method is done in two days and has a harsher flavor and is opaque in color with a strong
chemical aroma. The basic raw ingredients are soy beans, wheat, and salt. There is also the
introduction of bacteria called Aspergillus oryzae or Aspergillus soyae, which breaks down the proteins
in the soybeans.
So, in a nutshell, this is how the process works. First they blend or mash the soybeans and wheat,
adding it to water and boiling it till the seeds are softened. Then they add a seed mold to

The, The And The Cia As A Mind Control Program
MK Ultra was a project formed by the CIA as a mind control program ( Project MKULTRA, 2016).
This program implemented a new way to interrogate by using torture and drugs such as marijuana and
LSD ( Project MKULTRA, 2016). The reason for these tactics were to weaken the individual so the
agency could get a confession through mind control ( Id, 2016). Headed by Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, MK
Ultra was started officially on the order of CIA director Allen Welsh Dulles on April 13, 1953 ( Id,
2016). The goal was to develop mind controlling drugs for use against the Soviet bloc in response to
the allegations that North Korea, China, and the Soviet Union were already using techniques of mind
control and torture on prisoners of war ( Id, 2016). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although sometimes top officials at these institutions were aware of the CIA s involvement, most
often the CIA operated through these institutions using front organizations ( Id, 2016). They also
conducted business through other organizations by having subprojects ( Id, 2016). These projects were
the research that most did not know MK Ultra was driving ( Id, 2016). Some of these subcontracts
were also through colleges ( Id, 2016). Project MK Ultra was first brought to public attention by
anonymous tips ( Id, 2016). Because of those tips, in 1975 the Church Committee of the U.S.
Congress and Gerald Ford began to investigate CIA activities within the United States ( Id, 2016).
Investigative efforts were initially hampered by the fact that CIA Director Richard Helms ordered all
MK Ultra files destroyed in 1973; however, the Church Committee and Rockefeller Commission
investigations relied on both the sworn testimony of direct participants and on the relatively small
number of documents that survived Helms destruction order ( Id, 2016). One 1955 MK Ultra
document gives an indication of the size and range of the effort; this document refers to the study of
an assortment of mind altering substances ( Id, 2016). Obviously enough information survived or else
we still wouldn t know about these experiments today. Once Project MK Ultra officially got underway
in April 1953, experiments

Russia
There are many areas and factors to how Russia developed into an Enlightened Absolute and
European country. In order to answer the question above I will need to understand Russia from the
wider picture; how the Romanovs established authority, what was the significant changes in the
Russian society, how did the economy develop, what was the ideology of the people and was foreign
policies achieved by the monarchs of this century? These questions have opened up debates by many
historians, such as Lucy Worsley, Lindsey Hughes and Matthew S. Anderson. Through the broad task
at hand, and the potential to not display all knowledge of the time period, there will only be a few
aspects that I will focus on. Increased centralisation of Royal authority, ... Show more content on

This year of travelling encouraged and influenced Peter into making Russia a great nation. M.S
Anderson is convinced that Peter wanted to learn about shipbuilding, navigation and seamanship. This
corresponds with Lucy Worsley ( Reinventing Russia , Empire of the Tsars: Romanov Russia with
Lucy Worsley, BBC FOUR, 10/01/2016, London). As Lucy Worsley talks about in the TV Show, this
year of Peter travelling incognito is the year that changed Russia forever . However, whether this
improved politics, the economy and the social attitude in Russia is still open to debate among
historians. An argument that is still put in place today is the main Westernisation came from Catherine
the Great, and wasn t from Peter. Catherine in 1785, 60 years after the death of Peter I, issued the
Charter of the Nobility. The Charter by some is seen as Revolutionary and instituted Civil Rights in
Russia. This has been questioned as it is Civil Rights for the wealthy minority, however it was a great
step for Russia. Considering everything belonged to the Tsar which was the people and the land in
where they lived. Catherine had changed the way Russian Society was situated. In saying this, Russian
culture changed dramatically under Peter, and more so according to Robert Jones and Simon Dixon,

Identifying Mental Illnesses
Mental illness refers to a condition, which affects the thinking, feeling, and mood of a person.
Apparently, this condition affects the ability of a person to function every day and the capacity to
relate to others (Tracy, 2015). Here are some diagnosis and tests that can be carried out to determine
mental illness in a person: A psychological assessment where a mental health provider helps a patient
understand the behavior patterns, feelings, thoughts, and symptoms that can cause mental illness. At
this point, a patient may be asked to fill out a questionnaire to assist in answering the questions. Lab
tests where health practitioners check out the thyroid function of a patient or screen for drugs and
alcohol. Physical examination the health practitioner tries to rule out physical issues, which could lead
to mental illness. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Apparently, a psychiatrist is a qualified medical doctor who has extra training in the field of mental
illnesses and health. The work of a psychiatrist is to assess the mental condition of a patient in
coordination with their physical condition, and thus prescribe medication. Only psychiatrists have the
mandate to treat and prescribe medication to people with a mental health condition. With the mental
illnesses, the health professionals do not culture some microorganism and carry out a blood test to
establish if a patient has a mental illness. The mental illnesses are diagnosed based on the symptoms,
which a person has. Behavioral Illness Behavioral illnesses affect our conscious (Behavioral Health
Resources, 2016). For instance, behavioral illness is caused by substance abuse, where the patient
suffering from behavioral illness makes a sober, and a conscious decision to use drugs. Other
examples are eating disorders like the anorexia nervosa. Behavioral treatment centers on the extent

The State Of Utopi A Continuity Of Operations Plan
Introduction. The State of Utopia has determined to develop a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)
that incorporates all of the key state governmental functions. The National Guard (NG) being one of
these key organizations has been tasked to develop and coordinate their own plan and ensure it nests
correctly within the state plan. The Adjutant General of Utopia has ordered that the Joint Staff produce
a COOP that relocates the affected units to an alternate site, accounts for and protects all personnel
and equipment, and maintains mission command capabilities. We must maintain the ability to quickly
generate ready forces to safeguard Utopia and protect the nation while adding value to our
communities. The National Guard of Utopia is made up of approximately 2,000 Army NG (ARNG)
members, 1,500 Air NG (ANG) members, and 150 state employees spread across 24 different
campuses statewide. The National Guard also services approximately 4,500 veterans throughout the
state.
The problem. The National Guard has a Pandemic Influenza (PI) Continuity of Operations Plan, but it
does not have a COOP plan that covers an all hazard approach. Even though there is a PI COOP, it
was written in 2009 and at best has been minimally exercised which included one TTX and a drill on a
small portion of the entire plan. Since then there has been little emphasis placed on developing an all
hazards COOP.
The objective. To have an effective all hazards COOP for the Utopia NG that nests both the

For the track Doo Wop ( That Thing), Hill comments on self respect and how the issue of sex
dominates society. For instance with the lyrics, Don t think I haven t been through the same
predicament Let it sit inside your head like a million women in Philly, Penn It s silly when girls sell
their souls because it s in Look at where you be in, hair weaves like Europeans Fake nails done by
Koreans.Come again. Hill uses this line to show that women do not need to conform to Eurocentric
standards in order to be deemed beautiful by societal standards. With the line come again Hill is trying
to challenge women to be more than sexual objects and that women should remove the inorganic
beauty products. In Doo Wop, Hill tells men and women to avoid societal pressures and become
independent. For the track Doo Wop, the song starts with a piano, a deep bass, and a simple hip hop
beat. This sound sets the tone for the rest of the song because it intertwines classical, soul, and R B
music together. The intertwining of the different beats meshes well with the acapella style of singing
Hill uses in the song causing an earthy feel to the song. The vocals in the song are loud and powerful
which helps communicates the theme of self respect and

Comparing A Good Man Is Hard To Find And Good Country People
The Power of Judgement
Are there really any good people living on this planet? This question seems to loom in the one s mind
after reading Flannery O Connor s two stories, A Good Man is Hard to Find and Good Country People
. Not only does O Connor portray gruesome imagery throughout both stories, she also incorporates
aspects of religion. What makes these stories captivating is the element of pure shock during the
climax. Nevertheless, the short stories both help the readers visualize how judging others or jumping
to conclusions about certain individuals can have a dramatic conclusion.
O Connor enlightens the readers about how judging a book by its cover or jumping to certain
conclusions about others can be fatal. This is shown in Good Country People when the main character
Hulga gets too comfortable with a bible salesman named Manley Pointer. Even though Pointer seems
simple or of good country people , he is the polar opposite. In fact, he has a secret identity and cons
disabled women. However, the reader does not understand this shocking twist until Pointer gets close
to Hulga and convinces her that they are in love just to steal her prosthetic leg. O Connor also uses the
theme of judgment in another short story.

like after the failure of the march that King had gone back to Atlanta and the people requested King s

The Pros And Cons Of Gentrification
Everyday buildings and shops seem to be coming to a rust and becoming of age. There is a process in
which it gives the neighborhood or streets a fresh new sense to the community. In doing this brings in
a variety of different people from different customs and making the community more diverse. This
process is called gentrification which is urban change, particularly, the transformation of a low income
or economically depressed area of a city into a higher income more economically prosperous.
Gentrification is not tied to race and ethnicity but social class. Although it seems like all negatives to
the community because they have lost their childhood store or restaurant, there are positives to
gentrification. Gentrification is beneficial to our community because of the displacement of not only
the buildings but of the people, urban renewal, and property value. During gentrification there are
certain displacements that improve and benefit our community as a whole. The displacement of people
coming from all different races and culture increasing the diversity in the communities and not only
create a diversity but also benefits the citizens around that community. Although some people believe
the increase of diversity is a negative and will cause harm, studies found no evidence of displacement
or harm ( Buntin). In 2010, a university examined gentrification across the nation as whole and they
saw that when african americans are living with a more diverse community (with whites

One is the adequacy of the research itself. In view of the extent of the research, and the high
proportion of negative ļ¬ndings, this seems unlikely to be fruitful. I will deal with it here cursorily.
Another is the appropriateness of the research to the nature of the theory. In this respect I argue that it
is the sort of theory which is not easily amenable to crucial test, as Wahba and Bridwell accept. This
would usually be seen as a shortcoming. I here argue that, on the contrary, it is one of the qualities
which gives the theory its power. The third ground is that the theory itself can be reļ¬ned. A series of
modiļ¬cations are later proposed. The remainder of the paper works through a number of stages. The

consequence of this examination I propose a series of Maslow revis(it)ed Paper 02 5 modiļ¬cations

HIST 122 RC: World Civilization from 1500
April 29, 2015
The Struggle of the Asian Powers During the Age of Imperialism , which lasted through the entire
nineteenth century, most countries/ areas outside of North America and Europe struggled to adjust
industry based economies. Asian countries were left with a dilemma: industrialize quickly or become
subjects of western powers. Although some Asian countries were conquered many of them become
world powers by the twentieth century.
Japan s goal during the nineteenth century was to catch up to match the strength of Europe. By
beginning their transformation, the Japanese adopted a new form of government. Feudalism became
insufficient so Japan formed a government that utilized a written constitution. This new government
allowed the establishment of modern military forces. Western technology was integrated which
allowed Japan to revamp their economy from an agriculture based to an industrialized machine in less
than fifty years. By the end of the Meiji Restoration, Japan no had no more fears of being
imperialized. Instead, they set out to practice imperialism themselves. From 1894 to 1895 Japan
fought China in the Sino Japanese War and forced China to agree to terrible terms. At the turn of the
century Japan was ready to become a world power. When Russia came into conflict with the Japanese

The Making of the 1963 Baptist Faith
The Making of the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message (2008)
BOOK REVIEWS
The Making of the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message. A. J. Smith Eugene, OR: Wipf and Stock
Publishers, 2008. In the book entitled, The Making of the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message, by A. J.
Smith he begins to established in the introduction how Herschel H. Hobbs stands out as one of the
most prolific writers in Southern Baptist history. (p. 1) He shares that in some sections Hobbs
introduced concepts and phrases. (p.1) In others he coordinated the thinking of the committee.
Throughout, he was the writer, presenting successive drafts for committee approval. (p.1) His

This issue was doctrinal. In chapters 4 and 5, Smith takes boundless lengths to show that historically
Baptists have detained that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and it alone stands as the principal
authority in all substances of doctrine. This did not refute the use of confessions. Baptist associations
did use confessions to express their views and differentiate themselves from other denominations.
Though Baptists also contributed to the notion of soul liberty, this was not seen as a chance to advance
from confessional ethics. (Pp. 11 12) In the last chapters of the book, Smith explains how a committee
was developed, which was led by Hobbs, to revise the BFM of 1925. Smith shares how Hobbs s only
goal was to enhance the BFM not rewrite it. There were no main changes made. The manuscript went
through numerous drafts and was done so with a combine effort of the SBTS and Mercer University.
The areas that were examined with the changes were scripture, Ecclesiology, Anthropology, and
Soteriology, because they were re worded or revised in some form. (p. 13) The goal was not to make
any key variations; some important balances were made. In respects to the Scriptures, the committee
dampened down the Bible as inimitable revelation and only recognized it as a printed record of
revelation. The emphasis was taken from scripture understanding to Jesus Christ of Nazareth being the
key to

Slave Codes In The Slave
Most slaves could not read or write, and they were not allowed to be taught how to read or write,
therefore they found ways to communicate with each other in different forms that their owners would
not be able to understand. Sometimes codes were created by whites who were helping the slaves and
the slaves who had already escaped. Some examples of communication, also known as codes, are
songs, quilts, dancing, and drums. Songs were used in everyday life by African slaves. The slaves
called these songs negro spirituals. People such as Harriet Tubman and others used songs as a means
for communication amongst each other in their fight to gain freedom. Many slaves knew the secret
meanings of words from the negro spirituals, so they could be used to signal many things. For
example, Harriet Tubman used the song Wade in the Water to tell slaves who were trying to escape to
get off the trail and go into the water. This made sure that the dogs slavecatchers couldn t sniff out
their trail. Other slaves used songs as signals. For example, the Virginia slave Nat Turner, who
organized a revolt against slave owners, used the song Steal Away as a signal to call people together to
talk about their plans ( Joe Carter and the Legacy of African American Spirituals. ) The Underground
Railroad is a huge example of where slaves used codes to communicate. They used codes like bundles
of woods, drinking gourd, and load of potatoes, (Underground Railroad Secret Codes. Premium

Wedding Toast
Wedding Speech Best Man
Afternoon everyone, firstly, the city council have asked me to request that, for health and safety
reasons, none of you get up on top of the chairs and tables during my standing ovation.
I m sure you ll all admit this has turned out to be a fabulous wedding celebration, yet every silver
lining does have a cloud, and that is, unfortunately that you ve all got to listen to me for a few
minutes.
I d just like to start by thanking everyone on behalf of the Bride and groom, for sharing their wedding
day, although personally I wish you d all stayed at home, because things would have been a lot easier
on me.
I d also like to thank you George, on behalf of the bridesmaids for your kind words and ... Show more

(brick)!
Anyway a few words about the main man himself:
George and I go back some 14 years now, and in that time he has always kept me and the rest of the
lads entertained. He is, and I think most of you that know him will agree, pretty much your typical lad.
During his bachelor day s he was the only guy I knew that had a pool table in the front room, a
scalectrix in the loft, and 2 fridge s, one for non essentials such as foodstuffs and the other dedicated
purely to chilling the boys beer. I still think the scalextrix in the loft was just a ruse to watch the girls
on the toilet as the hatch was in the bathroom and whenever they needed to go you could never get the
loft hatch shut as the ladder was in the way.
In fact I guess many of us assumed he would always remain a single man certainly that s what he
would have you believe, always professing that he would be the last man standing where marriage was
concerned. So it was quite a surprise when he told me he was getting married.
We may be asking ourselves what Julie sees in George, I know I regularly do!
But they say love is blind and marriage is a real eye opener, so I d like to say, George, you are a lucky
man, marrying Julie today. She deserves a good husband...... unfortunately you got to her before she
had a chance to find one! Actually, while wondering what to say this afternoon, I couldn t help
thinking

Nine Algorithms That Changed The Future
In Mathematics is an integral part of of computer science and computer programming. A great
example of this would be how algorithms for computer programs are directly taken from a
mathematics stand point. They are used for calculations and data processing. In the book Nine
Algorithms that Changed the Future by John MacCormick, the author takes the reader through
different algorithms that have made a significant impact on the internet and computer science as a
whole. None of these algorithms would even be possible if it was not for applied or pure mathematics.
Similarly, computer scientist can gain a lot by developing a deeper understanding of mathematical
foundations. According to Wikipedia, applied mathematics is where one studies practical problems,
whereas pure mathematics tends to focus on the ideas or concepts behind these problems. Both play

Numerical analysis can be defined as the design and analysis of techniques to give approximate but
accurate solutions to difficult problems. I find this interesting because by using numerical analysis one
can find different tricks or methods of understanding or solving a problem. Many theories within
mathematics come from numerical analysis. It s been in practice for centuries and without it, simple
mathematical operations such as solving a system of equations might not exist. Furthermore, the
theory of computation also interests me due to the fact that it tests the limitations on what computers
can and can not do. According to Wikipedia, the theory of computation is split into three different
branches: automata theory and language, computability theory, and computational complexity theory.
In fact, one of the most commonly used models used when studying computation is the Turing
machine. This is because it is simpler to analysis and represents everything a computer could

The Prague Spring, Solidarity Movement, And The Fall Of...
There were many events that led to the fall of the Soviet Union. In my opinion, the most important
events that led to the fall of the Soviet Union were the Romanian Revolution, Velvet Revolution,
Prague Spring, Solidarity Movement, and the Fall of the Berlin Wall. The Romanian Revolution was
the 5th most important event because it was important revolution that resulted in many causalities.
The Velvet Revolution (4th most important) was a major event in the fall of the Soviet Union and was
also a non violent one. The Prague Spring (3rd most important) showed that the Soviet Union wasn t
happy to give up it s republics and satellites. The Solidarity Movement (2nd most important) was the
first chink in the armor of the Soviet Union. The Fall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Germans from the East started to travel around the wall (from Germany to Hungary to Austria to
Germany). People became fed up so they took matter into their own hands and started destroying the
wall with sledgehammers. In 1990, East Germany and West Germany signed a treaty that unified
them.
The Solidarity movement in Poland occurred in 1980 and was the first event that led to the fall of the
Soviet Union. Solidarity was a trade union that was fighting for better working conditions. It
eventually became a politically party and demanded reforms.
The Prague Spring took place in Czechoslovakia in 1968. They tried to reduce the control the Soviet
Union had on them by implementing a couple of reforms. Alexander Dubček (Czech leader) promised
the Soviets they wouldn t leave the Warsaw Pact but despite this, the Soviets sent troops to
Czechslovakia. Dubček s was arrested and sent to Moscow.
Between November and December of 1989, the Velvet Revolution took place in Czechoslovakia. The
defeat of the Communist party in Czechoslovakia was a result of popular protest and student
demonstrations. The country returned to capitalism and democracy and later separated to become the

Summary Of Peter Eisinger s Essay Is Detroit Dead
In his essay Is Detroit Dead?, Peter Eisinger investigates the slow decay and degradation of the city of
Detriot, and argue that it is no longer a living city. He uses the analogy of a patient who is diagnosed
with a terminal disease to help prove his point. Eisinger looks at the lack of self governance,
inefficient and eroding public services, and the shallow indigenous labour pool in Detroit, to sustain
his argument that Detroit is on the cusp of death. As well, he uses other literature that points out the
mass migration of Detroiters that started in the 1950s, and the rapid decline of the auto industry.
Eisinger also discusses limitations in finding numerical data for the exact amount of debt Detroit has
and with the proportion of Detroiters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He argues that the city does not have an elected official running the city; instead, the state appointed a
bankruptcy lawyer, Kevyn Orr, who answers only to the state governor (Eisinger, 2013). As such, Orr
does not serve the residents of Detroit specifically, which Eisinger states is a central urban function of
a city. Instead, Orr is primarily in charge of recasting the city budget and selling assets to help pay off
the extraordinary debt, and published a report of the situation in Detroit in 2013. Eisinger also argues
that the public services in Detroit are in crisis. The effectiveness and efficiency of the police
department is extremely low (Eisinger, 2013), and that the public transportation system is unreliable; it
should be noted that Detroit is one of the few cities in the United States without public transportation
between the city and its major airport. (Eisinger, 2013). As well, Eisinger states that the indigenous
labour pool holds little attraction to employers in technology or information fields. (Eisinger, 2013).
The city is the 94th least educated in the United States, and less than 15% of city adults have a college
or postgraduate education (Eisinger, 2013). From these arguments, and from other literature, it is clear
that Eisinger s argument that Detroit is no longer a living city may hold truth to

Intravenous Catheter Case Paper
Introduction
Indwelling central venous catheters (CVCs) have been in use for the last 3 decades and offer a more
simplified approach for children and adolescents who must endure frequent intravenous access for
treatment {Hastings, 2002 #6}. Well known complications are line infection, thrombosis, occlusion,
migration, and fracture with possible subsequent embolization. Less common complication is retained
CVC, following unsuccessful removal. This situation is reported in 0.4% 2% of all line removals
{Maizlin, 2010 #8;Milbrandt, 2009 #7}. Adherent tunneled catheters can usually be removed by a
surgical cut down, but in some cases the line can become stick to the wall of the central veins. In such
cases, forceful traction can cause vascular injury, or fracture of the catheter {Field, 2007 #9}. We
present challenging cases of a patients with stuck tunneled catheter, which could be securely removed
by combined surgical and endovascular techniques.

Gestational Diagnostic Essay
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a type of diabetes which usually occurs around 24th to 28th
weeks of pregnancy. [1] A pregnant woman is diagnosed with GDM when her blood glucose level is
higher than normal. Therefore, there are several treatment options available to treat GDM patient.
The main aim of treatment of GDM patient is to ensure the blood glucose level of a GDM pregnant
woman is equal to those normal pregnant women that do not have GDM. The first line therapy in the
management of GDM involves lifestyle modification and medical nutrition therapy. Based on the
trigger, the patient is overweight. Thus, she needs nutritional counseling from a registered dietitian in
order to help her to manage her weight. She should follow a healthy eating plan to keep her blood
glucose level within the target value, provide enough nutrition and achieve appropriate weight changes
during her pregnancy. Furthermore, she should keep physically active by doing some light exercise
such as brisk walking which can help to prevent further gaining of weight. Plus, exercise can also help
to reduce blood sugar level by stimulating body to move glucose into the cells, where it is used for
energy [2].
Insulin therapy should be considered if the GDM patient fails to reach the target ... Show more content

Analysis Of Margaret Atwood s The Penelopiad
Margaret Atwood is a Canadian author and poet. She is the author of more than forty books of fiction,
poetry, and critical essays (margareatwood.ca) and is very popular in the feminist community due to
her novels focusing on women s culture and viewpoint. The Penelopiad is a novel written by Atwood
that tells the myth of the famous Greek king Odysseus from his wife Penelope s point of view. The
reader response theory is the best way to interpret this novel. This theory is a form of literary criticism
that depends on the reader s response to the text. Each reader will have a similar but slightly different
experience from the text. This novel contains experiences most can relate to or will relate to in their
future and receive a lesson from it. Perspective is very important in this novel. How it is interpreted is
dependent upon who is reading it. There is not a single meaning to this novel but many. As a child,
Penelope s father had attempted to drown her but she was saved by ducks and was ultimately
nicknamed Duck by her family. Afterwards, her father became overly affectionate towards her
seemingly out of guilt. Her mother was very absent minded and not consistently proactive in her life.
Many people have had issues from or in their childhood. Many have also had traumatic experiences as
a child and understanding why these things happened is rare and this often permanently affects lives.
Penelope was described as intelligent instead of beautiful while her cousin, Helen, was

The Civil War and American Art Exhibit at the New York...
On Saturday, June 15 I attended the Civil War and American Art exhibit at the New York Metropolitan
Museum of Art. There were a number of different people who were present on this occasion. I believe
there were so many people there because this is one of the better known art galleries throughout New
York. Additionally, the fact that today was part of the weekend probably contributed to the massive
crowds of people present. Not everyone was there to attend the Civil War and American Art exhibit,
however; there were several other exhibits taking place in different locations throughout the museum
that day. The exhibit contained upwards of 20 photographs and at least 60 paintings. One of the most
agreeable things about the works of art that I witnessed is that collectively, they assisted in recounting
the sentiment that gripped the country during the war that threatened to sunder it. One could almost
feel the initial enthusiasm as the war broke out, that was swiftly prolonged by numerous clashes over a
period of years. There were works that alluded to an impending war, ones that depicted that war, and
numerous ones that hinted at a hoped for ending in which the mightiness of the country would
someday be restored. One of the pieces that I found to be the most moving was Frederic Edwin
Church s Our Banner in the Sky , which was painted during the war s outset in 1861. This is one of the
pieces in which the enthusiasm for the war was quite clearly seen. In this work, the

  • 2. Jesus Paschal Mystery Research Paper Monday, pgs 95 105: All four of the Gospels in the New Testament depict Jesus Paschal Mystery. The first part to that Paschal Mystery is Jesus Passion, which are the sufferings of Jesus during his final few days on earth. The events that make up the Passion are important to the Catholic Faith. Those events include: Jesus entering Jerusalem, The Last Supper, The Garden of Gethsemane, The Trial before the Sanhedrin, The Trial before Pilate, The Scourging, The Crucifixion, and Jesus Death. A lot of those events also make up the Stations of the Cross, which is a symbolic way of showing people what Jesus went through during his last few hours of life. Jesus death is a main part to the Stations. Catholics all around have a special Mass commemorating ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hosea 3 Essay Hosea s marriage is symbolic to Israel s Unfaithfulness to God through their continuous Idolatry. God s unwavering love is represented in the long suffering husband of the unfaithful wife. The purpose of writing about Hosea s marriage was to provide an illustration of His relationship with the People of Israel. In Hosea 3 shows the greatness of God s grace, when Hosea s wife left him and was living in sin Hosea was commanded by the Lord to buy her back. This illustrated how Israel needs God s intervention to restore their relationship. God desires our love over external spiritual practices. For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, And in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings (Hosea 6:6). God was going back to (Deut 6:5) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then GOD ordered me, Start all over: Love your wife again, your wife who s in bed with her latest boyfriend, your cheating wife. Love her the way I, GOD, love the Israelite people, even as they flirt and party with every god that takes their fancy (Hosea 3:1 MSG). Through Hosea, God says that Israel had left Him to value Harlotry, wine and new wine (Hosea 4:11 NASB). In Verse 12 God makes it clear that men and women were committing infidelity with cultic prostitutes in the worship of false gods. Gomer was an appropriate representation of Israel because of the fleshly nature of idolatry that the folks were committing. Their spiritual adultery gave rise to the physical act of adultery. Hosea marriage is a lasting symbol of God s faithfulness and conditional redemption of His unfaithful people, beforehand and presently, through Jesus Christ. God s words to ancient Israel ought to fill us with hope: I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and in justice, In lovingkindness and in compassion, 20And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then you will know the LORD (Hosea 2:19 20 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Arms Race and How it Changed the United States of America The Evil Empire that is what, at the height of the arms race, United States President Ronald Reagan called the Soviet Union (Rudolph 1). Unsurprisingly, the Soviet Union was similarly upset at the United States. This anger is what fueled the arms race. During the Cold War, due to fears of nuclear attack, the US and Soviet Union designed and deployed thousands of nuclear warheads, each hoping to deter the other from nuclear launch with threat of counter attack (O Neal 1). This massive arms buildup, however, had many negative effects on the US. To recognize the impact that the arms race continues to have on today, it is crucial to understand not only its causes, but also its immediate impacts on the US economy, society, foreign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This preparation took the form of an arms race. The arms race was a competitive acquisition of weapons by the Soviet Union and the United States. (Boilard 1). The strategy behind the arms race was to amass more nuclear weapons than the opponent, thus enabling them to win any future nuclear war. It was assumed that if nuclear war happened, then the country with the most nuclear weapons would destroy more of the other country, consequently winning the war (Boilard 1). Under this strategy, the Soviet Union built about 45,000 nuclear warheads, and obtained enough radioactive materials to triple that. The Soviet Union also placed tactical missile sites in many countries from Cuba to Kazakhstan, hoping to be able to perform a fast strike from close range if necessary (O Neal 1). Likewise, the US placed missiles in Europe and started the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) program. The SDI program was meant to defend against a nuclear attack. The SDI program included satellites with lasers and nuclear powered railguns, which would ideally be able to shoot down approaching missiles long before they reached their target. The SDI program was also referred to as Star Wars because its use of lasers in space made it seem like science fiction. Furthermore, the price, amount of electricity needed to power these weapons, and amount of research needed was so great that the project was abandoned several billion dollars later (Rudolph 2). • 5. Proud Item Analysis Proud Item: Maha considers this item as one of her greatest achievements since it was the first medal she received here in Canada. It must make a person extremely proud to receive an award in their first year in a brand new country. Maha carried on to tell her class that she received the Greatest Strides Award in elementary school after her recent arrival in Canada. When she moved from Saudi Arabia, it was her first time attending a school here and everything was absolutely different in the education system to her, how everything ran and how students were taught. The school she attended back in Saudi Arabia had so many differences with the schools as she said it took time to adjust and fit in. Maha soon went deeper into the subject by explaining that the school she went to, Ashgrove Public School gave out year end awards which were the Citizenship Award, the Greatest Strides Award, and the Kindness and Caring Award. Three students from every class would receive an award. Maha finished by mentioning that this item was one she has always been and proud and will continue to appreciate this medal. Place Item: There are numerous places someone would like to visit someday in their life especially people who like traveling and seeing new places. Being one those people Maha chose South Korea over all the other places she would like to go to. To symbolize this country Maha brought in Korean Calligraphy she had done in the past. Shewin Memorandum 1 Heather M Fuller PA402: Employment Law Assignment: Shewin Memorandum #1 April 27, 2015 Anti discrimination laws cover categories that include race, gender, religion, age national origin, and others. Ms. Shewin s case has several factors that could be split into the discrimination categories. The first factor that can be considered is that Ms. Shewin is an African American. In the fact pattern is states that there are only five African American senior managers in the company. The type of compensation, or damages you can hope to recover? I thought this would be a good question to ask because in the end, anyone who files a lawsuit is looking to get something out of it. By the attorney asking what the clients expected outcome should be, this allows the attorney to prepare the case in the correct manner. It also gives the attorney the opportunity to talk with the client about what the realistic outcomes could be and how the process will work. 4. Did you speak with Human Resources regarding the interview process? This is a good question to ask the Ms. Shewin because if she went to the HR department or an upper management person to talk to them about the inappropriate interview circumstances, then it give the case more leverage that these alleged allegations did in fact take place and when they took place. This also gives the attorney additional people to talk with to get a better understanding of what they thought happened and if they tried to handle the situation. 5. • 7. Analysis Of The Sun, Line, And Cave Victoria McAlister Professor Talcott Ancient Philosophy 5 December 2014 Consistency in the Sun, Line, and Cave Plato s theory of the Forms showcases that acquiring knowledge involves turning away from the world of senses and moving towards the Forms/world of intellect. Within Plato s Republic there are three analogies: the sun, line, and cave, which are intended to clarify how things experienced in the sensible world are less real than the Forms. All three analogies are consistent through their descriptions of the differences between the intelligible and sensible worlds. The usage of all three also enables Plato to guide readers through the knowledge process, starting with a simple description of the sun and ending with a full example of how man can reach that sun. Plato starts with the analogy of the sun, which points out the contrast between the visible and the intelligible worlds. Within the visible world man has eyes and objects to be seen, but man needs another object for the eyes to see the object. This object is the sun, which provides the light that is required by the eye to view the visible world. In correspondence, the Form of the Good in the intelligible world is equal to the sun by the way that the Good allows the forms to be known. Plato specifically states, What gives truth to the things known and the power to know to the knower is the Form of the Good. And though it is the cause of knowledge and truth, it is also an object of knowledge (508e). Along with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These merchants gave their new sauce a name which they hoped would catch on in their own language and also help it to sell. Then they started to distribute it widely. By December 1750 it had reached the North America, arriving first in New York Harbor bearing the name India Soy. (Shurtleff Aoyagi,2012) Now, I will explain the process of making soy sauce. Now we all know that soy sauce comes from soy beans, but how is it turned into the dark syrupy liquid? These use a process called fermentation, which a way of cooking a food using bacteria. There are two distinct ways to making soy sauce, there is the traditional brewing fermentation and refining process, and then there is a chemical non brewing process called chemical hydrolyzation. The fermentation method takes up to six months to complete and results in a transparent, delicately colored broth with balanced flavor and aroma but the non brewing method is done in two days and has a harsher flavor and is opaque in color with a strong chemical aroma. The basic raw ingredients are soy beans, wheat, and salt. There is also the introduction of bacteria called Aspergillus oryzae or Aspergillus soyae, which breaks down the proteins in the soybeans. So, in a nutshell, this is how the process works. First they blend or mash the soybeans and wheat, adding it to water and boiling it till the seeds are softened. Then they add a seed mold to ... This program implemented a new way to interrogate by using torture and drugs such as marijuana and LSD ( Project MKULTRA, 2016). The reason for these tactics were to weaken the individual so the agency could get a confession through mind control ( Id, 2016). Headed by Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, MK Ultra was started officially on the order of CIA director Allen Welsh Dulles on April 13, 1953 ( Id, 2016). The goal was to develop mind controlling drugs for use against the Soviet bloc in response to the allegations that North Korea, China, and the Soviet Union were already using techniques of mind control and torture on prisoners of war ( Id, 2016). ... Although sometimes top officials at these institutions were aware of the CIA s involvement, most often the CIA operated through these institutions using front organizations ( Id, 2016). They also conducted business through other organizations by having subprojects ( Id, 2016). These projects were the research that most did not know MK Ultra was driving ( Id, 2016). Some of these subcontracts were also through colleges ( Id, 2016). Project MK Ultra was first brought to public attention by anonymous tips ( Id, 2016). Because of those tips, in 1975 the Church Committee of the U.S. Congress and Gerald Ford began to investigate CIA activities within the United States ( Id, 2016). Investigative efforts were initially hampered by the fact that CIA Director Richard Helms ordered all MK Ultra files destroyed in 1973; however, the Church Committee and Rockefeller Commission investigations relied on both the sworn testimony of direct participants and on the relatively small number of documents that survived Helms destruction order ( Id, 2016). One 1955 MK Ultra document gives an indication of the size and range of the effort; this document refers to the study of an assortment of mind altering substances ( Id, 2016). In order to answer the question above I will need to understand Russia from the wider picture; how the Romanovs established authority, what was the significant changes in the Russian society, how did the economy develop, what was the ideology of the people and was foreign policies achieved by the monarchs of this century? These questions have opened up debates by many historians, such as Lucy Worsley, Lindsey Hughes and Matthew S. Anderson. M.S Anderson is convinced that Peter wanted to learn about shipbuilding, navigation and seamanship. This corresponds with Lucy Worsley ( Reinventing Russia , Empire of the Tsars: Romanov Russia with Lucy Worsley, BBC FOUR, 10/01/2016, London). As Lucy Worsley talks about in the TV Show, this year of Peter travelling incognito is the year that changed Russia forever . However, whether this improved politics, the economy and the social attitude in Russia is still open to debate among historians. Catherine in 1785, 60 years after the death of Peter I, issued the Charter of the Nobility. The Charter by some is seen as Revolutionary and instituted Civil Rights in Russia. This has been questioned as it is Civil Rights for the wealthy minority, however it was a great step for Russia. • 11. Identifying Mental Illnesses Mental illness refers to a condition, which affects the thinking, feeling, and mood of a person. Apparently, this condition affects the ability of a person to function every day and the capacity to relate to others (Tracy, 2015). Here are some diagnosis and tests that can be carried out to determine mental illness in a person: A psychological assessment where a mental health provider helps a patient understand the behavior patterns, feelings, thoughts, and symptoms that can cause mental illness. The State of Utopia has determined to develop a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) that incorporates all of the key state governmental functions. The National Guard (NG) being one of these key organizations has been tasked to develop and coordinate their own plan and ensure it nests correctly within the state plan. The Adjutant General of Utopia has ordered that the Joint Staff produce a COOP that relocates the affected units to an alternate site, accounts for and protects all personnel and equipment, and maintains mission command capabilities. We must maintain the ability to quickly generate ready forces to safeguard Utopia and protect the nation while adding value to our communities. The National Guard of Utopia is made up of approximately 2,000 Army NG (ARNG) members, 1,500 Air NG (ANG) members, and 150 state employees spread across 24 different campuses statewide. The National Guard also services approximately 4,500 veterans throughout the state. The problem. The National Guard has a Pandemic Influenza (PI) Continuity of Operations Plan, but it does not have a COOP plan that covers an all hazard approach. Even though there is a PI COOP, it was written in 2009 and at best has been minimally exercised which included one TTX and a drill on a small portion of the entire plan. Since then there has been little emphasis placed on developing an all hazards COOP. The objective. To have an effective all hazards COOP for the Utopia NG that nests both the ... This question seems to loom in the one s mind after reading Flannery O Connor s two stories, A Good Man is Hard to Find and Good Country People . Not only does O Connor portray gruesome imagery throughout both stories, she also incorporates aspects of religion. What makes these stories captivating is the element of pure shock during the climax. Nevertheless, the short stories both help the readers visualize how judging others or jumping to conclusions about certain individuals can have a dramatic conclusion. O Connor enlightens the readers about how judging a book by its cover or jumping to certain conclusions about others can be fatal. There is a process in which it gives the neighborhood or streets a fresh new sense to the community. In doing this brings in a variety of different people from different customs and making the community more diverse. This process is called gentrification which is urban change, particularly, the transformation of a low income or economically depressed area of a city into a higher income more economically prosperous. Gentrification is not tied to race and ethnicity but social class. Although it seems like all negatives to the community because they have lost their childhood store or restaurant, there are positives to gentrification. Gentrification is beneficial to our community because of the displacement of not only the buildings but of the people, urban renewal, and property value. During gentrification there are certain displacements that improve and benefit our community as a whole. The displacement of people coming from all different races and culture increasing the diversity in the communities and not only create a diversity but also benefits the citizens around that community. Asian countries were left with a dilemma: industrialize quickly or become subjects of western powers. Although some Asian countries were conquered many of them become world powers by the twentieth century. Japan s goal during the nineteenth century was to catch up to match the strength of Europe. By beginning their transformation, the Japanese adopted a new form of government. Feudalism became insufficient so Japan formed a government that utilized a written constitution. This new government allowed the establishment of modern military forces. Western technology was integrated which allowed Japan to revamp their economy from an agriculture based to an industrialized machine in less than fifty years. Sometimes codes were created by whites who were helping the slaves and the slaves who had already escaped. Some examples of communication, also known as codes, are songs, quilts, dancing, and drums. Songs were used in everyday life by African slaves. The slaves called these songs negro spirituals. People such as Harriet Tubman and others used songs as a means for communication amongst each other in their fight to gain freedom. Many slaves knew the secret meanings of words from the negro spirituals, so they could be used to signal many things.
