Background or Introduction
Hospital acquired infections are a big problem today, but the use of disinfectants by the medical
staff can help to avoid or limit such exposures to pathogens. The authors main purpose of this
research article was to educate and teach the importance of hand hygiene and test the reason why
certain virucidal hand rubs result in poor compliance due to the poor tolerability of the products.
The overall goal with the study would to show the reason certain hand rubs are not being used and
how to improve their formula to increase compliance. The article written by the author was very
well written with a thorough abstract. The study was very easy to follow and read, due to the well
thought out structure of the article. The authors introduction starts out by stating the approximate
amount of hospital acquired infections in the European Union and why hand sanitizers play an
important role to avoid such infections. The introductions statement showed the importance of the
topic. Although some of the results were complicated and confusing, the discussion laid out the
results in layman

Security Social Reform (SSR)
Security Sector Reform, or SSR, is a type of governmental assistance in which another country
supplies helpful support in the democratic direction. An example of this would be in Egypt when
the United States Government helped develop their democracy. This sector also helps those
who are used to being at war find places amongst society and be able to live their lives working a
full time job, rather than a rebel outpost. The SSR uses the help of the citizens currently in place
to form the democracy. In this sense, they do not go into the country and do anything. The SSR
is assisting those who are already there. The following is a synopsis of the SSR and how it could
help, and possibly has helped, the world. West Africa, a sometimes highly dangerous place, was
subject to SSR attempts to help. The SSR is currently trying to find the sources of threat, which
are, as Adedeji Ebo states, ...it is evident that the sources of threat are often internal and that the
targets/victims are not merely states and security forces. (Ebo). The SSR is still trying to help the
government and to some degree it has been successful. Another case was in Iraq, when the Iraqi
government had problems as Arnold Luethold states, However, the Coalition Provisional Authority
s (CPA) decision to dissolve all the forces, including the police forces, without prior consultation
with Iraqis, has met considerable criticism in Iraq and abroad, for it was perceived to undermine
Iraq s stability. (Luethold).

The Garden Essay
Andrew Marvell s The Garden is a poem that through logical progression argues its already
established point of view. It is a poem of meditation in a particular place, where the place presented
influences the course of this meditative state. Even though filled with the imagery of nature the
poem takes a rather pessimistic point of view, where it argues that total isolation from society and
harmony with nature as the singular best way of living. Thus, the whole of the poem centers on the
idea of wholesome nature in a world without the instruction of mankind. In the first three stanzas,
the virtues of the garden are provided through comparison with the trial (and supposed pleasures) of
the world of men, stanzas five through seven address... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In effect, in the second stanza, the speaker speaks to the harmony he has found in the garden as he
compares the world of men and that of nature: Fair Quiet, have I found thee here, / And
Innocence, thy sister dear? (9 10). However, as he does so the speaker seem to fully inhabit
neither of these worlds, and his praise of the garden is lessened by doubt in the very stanza that
should establish the garden s virtues, the speaker cant even be certain that those virtues exist:
Your sacred plant, if here below, / Only among the plants will grown (13 14). The words if and
will signify that such was not yet achieved. However, the last two lines of the come back to the
central idea of the negation of humanity: Society is all but rude/ To this delicious solitude (15 16)
implying that the society is harmful to this perfect harmony of the garden. The argument of the
poem in the third and fourth stanzas still remains that of humanity against nature, however this
time with an emphasis on sexual passions. Here, the pleasures of human erotic pursuit are found
decidedly wanting when compared to the pleasures of the garden. The pleasures compared are of a
kind: No white nor red was ever seen / So amorous as this lovely green (17 18). The colors of white
and red are emblematic of female beauty (Rumrich, 554.9)

Peanut Butter Essay
Peanut butter is a sure treat for humans, especially with its tasty and delectable flavor. Most often
than not, we want to give our dogs the best food that we can give them. When we have a favorite
food, we always want to share it to our lovable pets for them to get a taste of what we are eating.
However, as dogowners, we should keep in mind that not all food are great four our dogs such as
chocolate since it can be a poison to them.
But then again, can dogs eat peanut butter? Can we share to them this peanut based food or should
we avoid it too? Fret not as the answer to the question is a yes. Peanut butter for dogs is generally
a safe food. As a matter of fact, it even contains more vitamins, proteins, and healthy fats as long as

They love peanut butter, but they definitely hate medicines. Hence, most dog owners trick their
dogs to drink the medicine by hiding them inside the peanut butter that their dogs will eat up
unnoticed.
When it comes to dog training, peanut butter dog treats are also used as a reward for your
pooches. Once they do something great or if they are following certain instructions, they
sometimes find it boring to get the same old dog biscuits every time. Hence, in order to spice
things up and keep them very much interested, a peanut butter dog treat can always be the key.
Saying such, it is very important that we provide our dogs what they really need, and that is to
give them peanut butter dog treats that will enhance their appetite. You do not need to purchase
these peanut butter dog treats at all since you can just make them personally with a touch of your
own love and recipe. If you do not know how to make a peanut butter dog treat for your dog,
simply follow these instructions and you will be able to provide your dog the best peanut butter

Viewpoints On Ageism
In the past one hundred years, the human life expectancy has increased by thirty years. This
trend continues to rise (Hooyman Kiyak, 2018). As a direct result, the amount of elderly people
in our society will also rise. At first glance, this may seem like a positive growth in our society.
However, when taking a second look, you come to realize that with such a positive trend comes a
negative trend: the growth of ageism. Ageism consists of the stereotypical and discriminatory
viewpoints placed upon an individual based solely on age (Hooyman Kiyak, 2018). Stereotypes
generalize large groups of people primarily on the behaviors or appearances of just a small
percentage of people within that group (Cambridge, 2017). Discrimination is the act of treating
someone unfairly based upon certain personal attributes (Cambridge, 2017). Ageist viewpoints
create a preconceived divide between the technological abilities of the younger and older
generations.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They illustrate the notion that older people are dependent, obtuse, and not as technologically
advanced (Effros, Hsu, Levy Storms, 2017). As we watch these shows, we are reinforcing these
ageist views within our minds and conclude that every person encountered must have those
common traits of those that we see on the screen. Often, these traits cause a divide between the
older and younger generation because the stereotypes create such a dramatic contrast between the
two age groups. One of the most prevalent ageist viewpoints is the idea that millennials are
technologically advanced while older generations are technologically

The Congo War
Within the next few weeks, the Congo declined quickly. On the tenth day of independence the
Force Publique army was irate with the new governments lack of change, and rebelled, asking for
promotions, pay raises, and the removal of white officers (Dunn, 63). Belgian officers were still
commanding the higher positions in the army, and while the Congo may have gained
independence, the Belgians not only ran things economically they also maintained a total grip on
the military apparatus (Van Reybouck, 285). The Congolese soldiers were anger and frustrated,
one a Belgian officer, General Janssen, confirmed his soldier s belief that, Independence brings
change to politicians and to civilians. But for you, nothing will be changed (Zeilig, 103).... Show

At first, the United Nations had refused to take part in the Katanga succession because it was an
internal conflict between the Congolese and the Belgians (Gibbs, 93). In actuality, the United
Nations really just wanted to stay in good with the United States. The United States has a large
amount of influence over the United Nations and even currently, the United States pays almost
thirty percent of the organizations bills (UN.org, HowMuchDoesPeacekeepingCost?). The United
States at the beginning had supported the succession of Katanga. The Central Intelligence Agency
had even sent military aid to the Katangese military. Although it did not take long for the United
States to understand that for the Congo to thrive it would need to have, Superior forces and
effective external support were crucial arbiters of political outcomes (Duignan, 124). The United
States could not allow for the Soviet Union to be that external support. United States had a fear of
communist take over and believed that if the Congo turned communist then all of Africa would turn
as well. The United States had believed that Lumumba was a secret communist, under the control of
the Soviet Union, and it did not help that he had gotten aid from the Soviet Union (Dunn, 63). So in
order to keep Congo and subsequently Africa, the United States came up with contingencies to get
rid of Lumumba (Vanthemsche, 203). In Lumumba s defense he had not been a

Adaptive Evolution Without Natural Selection Summary
In an effort to simplify the complexities of the scientific landscape, it goes without saying that
humans inadvertently rely on observed and calculable data nearly every day. From the basic
function of respiration; to an intern statistician at ESPN which calculates next gen stats; and
furthermore to a Nano technician altering particles at an anatomic level, different scientific fields
are taught, researched, and practiced with respect to making life a little easier on you and I. There
are, however, proponents of various fields one such being evolutionists that depend on science
retrospectively to attain enough data to conclude what previous walks of life might have been like.

Tragedies While Climbing Mount Everest Are Caused by Human Error
Especially in terrible weather, every second counts while nearing the top of Mount Everest on an
expedition. A step in the wrong place or a rope hooked to the wrong crag may send a climber
falling thousands of feet into a deep crevasse. Turning an oxygen level the wrong way may leave
the air non breathable to a climber after a few short minutes. These errors happen every season on
Everest, no matter what the conditions are. Whether errors in judgement or just simple mistakes,
accidents on Mount Everest are caused by human error.
During pushes up the mountain, it is easy for climbers to make subtle decisions that may have
grave consequences later on the hike. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other physical errors involved the precious resource of oxygen atop the mountain. In one instance,
guide Andy Harris refused to believe that a portion of the oxygen canisters stored at the South
Summit contained oxygen, often reporting There s no oxygen here! (qtd. in ITA, 195) After
research and tests other climbers deduced that there was in fact a supply of oxygen just below
the top of the mountain where Harris stood. The misunderstanding by Harris was likely caused
by a faulty oxygen register, but his unwillingness to believe his own tests were wrong confused
many struggling climbers. Harris caused additional trouble while descending the mountain; he
turned Jon Krakauer s oxygen level in the wrong direction on his tank. This caused Krakauer to
have a sudden surge of pure oxygen followed by his canister running out of the gas. The mistakes
by Harris and Krakauer caused Krakauer s schedule of receiving oxygen to be thrown off balance,
causing his descent to be severely tougher than expected.
Climbers neglect of their own physical limitations also caused grief during the climb and descent.
The harsh winds and temperatures of the high altitudes unexpectedly tortured Beck Weathers, who
had undergone eye surgery months before the climb. The conditions caused Beck to lose almost all
of his vision, which obviously impacted his attempt at descending the mountain. If Beck had taken

Case Application: Mixing It Up
In July of 2000, General Mills acquired Pillsbury from London based Diageo for $10.5 billion in
stock and assumed debt. (All Business, A D amp;B Company) After the merger, managers from
General Mills were now faced with integrating the two Minnesota based companies. A special
concern that had been brought up was marketing issues. With such household names such as
Pillsbury, Betty Croker, Green Giant, Wheaties, and Cheerios, the managers at General Mills had a
large task at hand on how to continue to market the many brands under their umbrella. As said by

The use of these types of teams creates the potential for an organization to generate greater outputs
with no increase in, or even fewer, outputs (Stephen P. Robbins 249). According to Beth
Gunderson, the director of organization effectiveness at General Mills, you can leverage beyond
people s functional expertise. A person from human resources, for instance, would ask a
provocative question [precisely because] she wasn t a marketer. And you d see the look on the
marketers faces: Whoa, I never thought of that. (Gordon).
Aside from the many benefits gained by these cross functional teams, managers face some major
problems. The same qualities that make these teams work, that they are large, virtual, diverse, and
composed of highly educated specialists, also work against it. Members of these complex, cross
functional teams are, as long as there are not any outside influences, less likely to share knowledge
freely, to learn from one another, to shift workloads flexibly to breakup unexpected bottlenecks, to
help one another complete jobs and meet deadlines, and to share resources in other words, to
collaborate. (Erickson). Some the ways that managers may deal with these issues is to look into the
issues discussed in the next section.
There are a number of items that affect how a team works. These items include roles, norms, status,
group size, and group cohesiveness. Roles are behavior

IMMIGRANT MIGRATION
One in every fifty human beings more than 150 million persons live outside their countries of
origin as migrants or refugees. They are highly vulnerable to racism, and discrimination. The fact
that an increasing proportion of international migration today is irregular and unauthorized
facilitates abuse and exploitation. But, even when their movements are legal and authorized, non
citizens face high levels of discrimination. Immigrants both legal and illegal make up 13% of the
nation s workers, the highest percentage since the 1930s. They dominate job categories at both
ends of the economic spectrum. Immigrants hold 35% of the unskilled jobs. It is not that
Americans are not afraid of doing hard work; they are just unwilling to put themselves at risk of
losing an eye or finger for minimum wages.
In fact most of the nation s 17.7 million immigrant workers toil, like those who preceded them, in
jobs that native born Americans refuse to do. They work as meatpackers, hotel maids, hamburger
flippers, waiters, gardeners, seamstresses, fruit and vegetable pickers, and construction hands. (USA

Literary Elements In Araby
James Joyce s literary work Araby is a well written piece that contains so many different elements
of literature, such as imagery, allusions and the use of symbols. By using these different elements,
he is able to paint a well, drawn out picture for the readers depicting the tripartite psyche that
Freud defined as the Id, Ego and Super Ego. The main character in Araby is a young boyliving with
his aunt and uncle who wants to attend the local bazaar which is called Araby in the piece of
literature. He is late going to the bazaar when his uncle comes home late from work with the
money he is allowed to use, fearing he will be late and the bazaar will be closed or nothing left to
buy. He finally arrives after all the trouble of rushing and catching trains to get there to only leave
empty handed and disappointed. This boy in the story represents an idea that is so much bigger
than one orphaned boy living with his drunk uncle trying to impress the girlnext door. Expressed in
Karen R. Smith s article Ethnic Irony and the Quest of Reading: Joyce, Erdrich, and Chivalry in the
Introductory Literature Classroom she briefly highlights that Joyce who has an Irish background,
easily represents the pinnacle of the primarily British and American movement of high Modernism.
After taking this into consideration and re reading the story, the readers can easily recognize the
relationship the oppressive government and the oppressive situation that the boy in the story is in

Different Forms Of Expressing Love
What is love? When we born into this world, there is already those that love and adore us. One
article defines it as a variety of different feelings and emotions, chemical brain states, and attitudes
that ranges from interpersonal affection ( I love my mother ) to pleasure (Lyons, A Deeper Look ).
Loveis a unique and complicated neurological emotion which is very difficult to understand. It is
just like hunger and thirst, but just more permanent. Many of us talk about love as if we have no
control over it, as if it is unconditional or blind, in the sense that we have no control over it. Many
artists and poets use the heart as a symbol that represents love, even though the truth is that it
occurs in our brain. Unlike modern society, the older generations did not only use the word love
to describe all the various emotions that go along with it. There are many different forms of
expressing love. The three words, I love you, take on varying meanings to a friend, to a parent, or
to a significant other. In order to describe these forms, the Ancient Greeks invented four distinct
words for love : agГЎpe, Г©ros, storge, and philГa. These four are types of love that we experience
in different stages in our lives.
AgГЎpe is the Greek word for love at its highest by God. Not to be confused with philia love, it is
not the type of love between a husband and wife or a brotherly love. It is more of a parental,
sacrificial form of love. Of all the four types of love, this one is

Transport
Transport or transportation is the movement of people, animals and goods from one location to
another. Modes of transport include air, rail, road, water, cable, pipeline, and space. The field can be
divided into infrastructure, vehicles, and operations. Transport is important since it enables trade
between peoples, which in turn establishes civilizations.
Transport infrastructure consists of the fixed installations necessary for transport, and may be
roads, railways, airways, waterways, canals and pipelines, and terminals such as airports, railway
stations, bus stations, warehouses, trucking terminals, refueling depots (including fueling docks

Private transport is only subject to the owner of the vehicle, who operates the vehicle themselves.
For public transport and freight transport, operations are done through private enterprise or by
governments. The infrastructure and vehicles may be owned and operated by the same company,
or they may be operated by different entities. Traditionally, many countries have had a national
airline and national railway. Since the 1980s, many of these have been privatized. International
shipping remains a highly competitive industry with little regulation,[14] but ports can be public
owned.[15]
[edit] Function
Relocation of travelers and cargo are the most common uses of transport. However, other uses exist,
such as the strategic and tactical relocation of armed forces during warfare, or the civilian mobility
construction or emergency equipment.

Passenger transport, or travel, is divided into public and private transport. Public is scheduled
services on fixed routes, while private is vehicles that provide ad hoc services at the riders desire.
The latter offers better flexibility, but has lower capacity, and a higher environmental impact.
Travel may be as part of daily commuting, for business, leisure or migration.

Acknowledging History s Mistakes of Blackface Minstrelsy
To consider something to be forgotten, good or bad, history loses its definition and becomes
distorted with fiction. If you can t acknowledge history s mistakes you can t develop and grow
as a society. To forget blackface minstrelsy would mean to forget such a vast part of early
American history and a part of the early development American popular culture. You could say to a
more extreme extent it would be like the western world forgetting slavery of the native Africans or
even the Spanish forgetting how they single handedly caused the demise of the Inca civilization.
Even though these parts of history could be forgotten because of there matter of sensitively. We as
a society must acknowledge our history in all its flaws no matter how sensitive or uncomfortable
the subject is to people today. It was something that helped culturally raise a nation that didn t know
better. As tasteless as blackfaceappears by todays standard it still does hold a influence on the
American entertainment industry and how black characters are portrayed in mainstream films and
other entertainment.
Even through blackface has not been part of American entertainment for some time now there is
still a wide use of certain characters and stereotypes that show links to the early entertainment.
So even thought something like blackface is viewed racist and old fashion its still holds a firm
foundation in American entertainment.

Trump To Christianity Research Paper
Is it too late for Trump to find Jesus?
Absolutely not! It s never too late to find Jesus... unless you are dead and then even that is

The fact that Trump has claimed to become a Born again Christian is really a positive step in the

If you analyze it from a true Christian s perspective, it can be considered cogent reasoning to

true conversion is a process. One may have a sincere desire to not sin or do evil anymore, but the

Military Family Psychoeducation Plan
The scenario my psychoeducation plan will be based off of is the couple, who are parents of 4
children and have just been informed that they will be experiencing their first deployment. The first
deployment milestone for military families is an extremely stressful and scary time, however with
resources and support stress can be minimized. When working with a service member and their
familybefore their deployment it is important provide psycho education on the impact the
deployment will have on the service member, their spouse/partner, and on their children.
According to Milliken, Auchterlonie, Hoge, 2007, soldiers returning from combat operations are at
a high risk for returning home and developing PTSD, depression, suicidal ideation, interpersonal ...

When working with a family who has their first deployment, it is important to help reinforce their
ability to respond to the challenges they may encounter throughout the deployment cycle.
Deployment has been may have an impact on parent child interactions for those who are deployed,
as well as for caregivers remaining at home. It is important to provide psychoeducation on the
impact the deployment may have on the family, such as separation and transitions, relationship
challenges, mental health difficulties and substance abuse. It is important to educate and provide
resources regarding this because research indicated that the role of parenting practices in the
relationship between family stressors can have a direct impact on the child behavioral/emotional
problems (Palmer, 2008). I would also provide resources on Family Service Centers, such as the
Navy Fleet and Family Support Center. These centers can provide support and education about
resiliency and military life. Child Serv, which is an organization piloting the Military Family
Initiative, is another resource that would be helpful as it offers services for early childhood
education and family counseling to military members and their

Electronic commerce, commonly known as e commerce, is a type of industry where buying and
selling of product or service is conducted over electronic systems such as the Internet and other
computer networks. Electronic commerce draws on technologies such as mobile commerce,
electronic funds transfer, supply chain management, Internet marketing, online transaction
processing, electronic data interchange (EDI), inventory management systems, and automated data

Good And Evil Are Often Seen In Shades Of Black And White
Good and evil are often seen in shades of black and white in literary works, and their effects are
obvious: good is good and evil is evil. However, there are shades of gray within the spectrum of
good and evil, and this in between often has a great effect on the work as a whole, revealing
important themes and ideas. This gray area, when in relation to the actions and morals of a
character, is called moral ambiguity. A character that embodies moral ambiguity is Victor
Frankenstein. While many of Victor s actions could leave him to be considered evil, there are many
reasons why Victor is morally ambiguous and partially good, rather than purely evil. Examples of
these reasons include Victor s motivations for both creating the creature and... Show more content

While Victor has good intentions and hopes to benefit humanity with the creation of his creature,
his creature fails to live up to his expectations due to a lack of proper nurturing and care from
Victor, and ultimately becomes evil and commits heinous crimes. His good and bad intentions
develop the ambiguous aspect of his morality, and in the end reveal that good intentions don t
always lead to good results.
Later in the novel, after the creature has murdered Victor s little brother William as an act of
revenge, and pinned it on Justine, which resulted in her execution, he demands that Victor create
him a female companion. After being threatened by the creature, Victor agrees, fearing for the
life of his loved ones. While he knows the consequences of his creations, his intentions are good
and pure in creating the female, as he just wants to protect the ones he loves. Victor eventually
ceases the assembling of the female, as he fears her ability to reproduce and spread more evil

Hiroshige Plum Garden
When I first look at Hiroshige s Plum Garden at Kameido, 1857, I see a grove of flowering trees,
with a fence in the background to keep visitors off the lush green grass. The main focal point of
this photo is the large tree branch in the foreground. This branch has several offshoots from it
with dainty white flowers. Looking past this I see several other trees in the background, all with
flowers blooming on them, but none with leaves. In the farthest background, there is a metal
fence that is separating several people from the garden of trees. There is also a partial shack in
the background on the far most right hand side of the picture. I also see what appears to be the
back of a sign, mostly hidden, in the upper left corner of the foreground. It appears to be sunset
during the painting, with the horizon lighter and the higher sky a red color. There are several
blocks of oriental writings, a red rectangle in the lower left corner over the body of the treebranch;

Several of the tree branches are curved at one point or another, but some in the foreground are
straight. Each branch is a different width and texture in this work of art, even if just a slight
difference. The branch in the foreground is the largest and most detailed, while the ones in the
background are less detailed. The artist did include knots on the tree trunks and knobs on the tree
branches to add to the detail. Also, there is the metal fence in the background, that creates a line
across the horizon. The fence has both horizontal and vertical lines on it to form the pattern of the
fence. There are more vertical lines in the foreground, but the boldness of the curved tree branch
causes it to be dominant. There is a cool color scheme present in this photo with the use of greens

Aquatic Experience In Pediatric Emergency Room
For children and adolescents, the experience in pediatric emergency waiting rooms can be
problematic. According to different age groups, there are a variety of psychosocial concerns and
developmental considerations that health professionals should be aware of in the pediatric unit.
The environment of the emergency room is busy and chaotic, which can increase the level of
anxiety and stress for the whole family. For infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children,
parentseparation is a common factor that makes them anxious (Brunnquell Kohen, 1991). In the
chaotic environment, children express their anxiety by crying, kicking or even regressive behaviors
such as stop walking. Thus, there should be more family couches for patients to

Favor Of Abolishing Juvenile Court
Proponents of abolishing juvenile court claim that all crimes should be treated the same and
children are no exception. They also claim that because a punishment is supposed to fit the crime
teenagers who have committed high level crimes deserve to be tried as adults. Another popular
claim is that the adult court system lowers juvenile recidivism. What these individuals fail to see is
the psychological trauma that adult courts have on adolescents. Instead of being tried as adults,
children should be tried in juvenile because children s brains are not fully developed, there are
flexible sentences, and juvenile courts allow for more rehabilitation. First, children do not have the
necessary brain development to comprehend the court... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Proponents of the abolition of juvenile court fail to realize that even teenagers do not have the
emotional development to fully understand what is happening. According to Robin Nixon,
adolescents have an entirely new set of intense emotions which makes rational decision harder. She
reported, Part of the limbic system, the amygdala is thought to connect sensory information to
emotional responses. Its development, along with hormonal changes, may give rise to newly
intense experiences of rage, fear, aggression (including toward oneself), excitement and sexual
attraction (Nixon). These intense emotions cause adolescents to act irrationally. To say that
teenagers have the emotional stability and maturity to be tried as an adult is preposterous. There
are many problems that arise when a child is tried in adult court. These issues surface as
emotional breakdowns, a lack of remorse, and even aggression. The harsh environment of an adult
court does not mix with a child s emotional needs. Emotional breakdowns stem from nervousness
and guilt while a lack of remorse stems from younger children failing to understand what they did
and aggression is an automatic response to what is happening around these children. Instead of
treating them as adults, the justice system needs to keep the juvenile justice court in order to give
these children a fair trial and rehabilitation. Second, children should be tried in juvenile court
because of the flexible

Although I felt experienced as a leader, I was really nervous to get up in front of all of North

At this point, I decided to stand up for all the students in all states and address ten thousand

Reflection Of Odysseus
Trying to decipher a person is a difficult task, perhaps impossible. We can, however, observe their
actions, their experiences and their resemblance to other people to make some progress in
comprehending them. Deciphering Odysseus is especially strenuous, for he is shown as a crafty
liar who tricks others to get what he wants. Additionally, we cannot tell where the truths end and the
lies begin. Consequently, we might not be able to wholly answer who Odysseusis but if we are to
understand the Odyssey, we first have to understand Odysseus.
Homer has constructed Odysseus as a complex character who is capable of molding himself into
different forms to get the best out of his surroundings. Despite this complexity, Homer has given
us enough clues to be able to recognize his actions. Of these clues, some are explicit and
obvious, others are implied and can be deduced via his speeches and his acts. The explicit ones
are easy, he is described to be, among other things, wise, kind and resourceful. The proofs of these
can be seen numerous times in the text and thus be taken at face value. The real difficulty starts
when we move past the explicit to the implicit.
To grasp his nature, we have to observe the other roles in the book who share parts of his
experiences, personalities or aims. Consider Telemachus. Despite the clear difference between his
and Odysseus` stature, other people like Nestor and Menelaus have no trouble accepting him to be
the son of Odysseus after hearing him

Different Types Of Computer Protocols
A protocol is most simply defined as a standard. These standards define how computers are able
to communicate with each other. These standards are defined in documents called Request for
Comments( RFC ) which is a formal document from an organization known as the Internet
Engineering Task Force( IETF ). These documents are made publicly available so that any
program that needs to use these protocols are able to configure them properly so that it works
with all other programs that make use of the same protocol. There are thousands of protocols that
exist and many of them are very common and others are very seldom used. Some of the most
common protocols are HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, SSH and DNS. Many of these are
used almost every... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
POP3 is used when downloading an email from the email server to a client. IMAP functions
similarly to POP3 in that its function is very similar. It is used when downloading emails from
mail servers. There are a few differences between the two. With IMAP the mail client is synced
with the mail server. An example of this would be reading an email on a mail client( Outlook
Express ) and this change being reflected on the mail server. This differs from POP3 because
POP3 would not update the mail server, and the fact that the email was read would only be
visible on that mail client. The next protocol is very important and called Secure Shell( SSH ).
This protocol uses port 22 by default and is inc readably useful. Its intended purpose is to
connect to a host that has an SSH server running and open a remote shell that is encrypted. This
offers a lot of possibilities that make remote administration secure. One of the additional functions
that SSH provides is the ability to create tunnels. The amount of possibilities with SSH tunnels is
endless. It allows unencrypted protocols to pass through an encrypted tunnel and can repeated
several times over several hosts to further encapsulate and secure data. The final protocol listed is
the Domain Name Server. This protocol is used when a computer knows the domain name of a
server and not the IP address. Unfortunately computers are not able to put a domain name in a layer

George Gascoigne

careful and methodical approach to the sonnet form is evident. Two years later, he published
Certayne Notes of Instruction on Making of Verse, which only further served to cement his
reputation as meticulous and deliberate with his choice of language and form every choice
Gascoigne makes is made with a purpose in mind. This is especially evident in For That He

vivid imagery to develop his criticism of the classic sonnet in which the beloved s refusal of the

In Gascoigne s metaphor, a mouse that had escaped a trap is unlikely to return, even if given
motivation to return to the trap and try for the food again (5 8). The idea of an tiny, innocent
animal representative of sonneteers caught in a trap which represents their beloved s chronic
rejection, is designed to engender feelings of sadness and pity in readers. Likewise, in
Gascoigne s second metaphor, it is improbable that a fly that has been burned by a flame would
approach any flame thereafter (9 12), once again inspiring compassion in the reader for the
sonneteers emotional pain. In more modern times, flies are seen as less unclean and disgusting
creatures than they were in the past, but in Gascoigne s day, that would not have been the case.
The same holds true for mice in Gascoigne s day, mice were seen as pests to be rid of at all costs.
No one would have sympathized with a mouse. So Gascoigne s argument changes contextually;
instead of creatures to be sympathized with, the mouse and fly and by extension the sonneteers are
simply nuisances to be rid

Critical Commentary On Group Work
Critical Commentary Essay
Group work has been a cornerstone of the social work profession and requires a variety of
facilitator skills and awareness of group processes. The SSLDTM Group Program for People with
Difficulties in Social Situations (Socialwork1914, 2017) provides an excellent example of a
psycho educational group co facilitated by two female social workers, Jane and Karen. After
viewing the 6th session of this 8 week program, I began to understand how the concepts of group
formation/development, interpersonal dynamics, and leadership styles contribute to successful
group work outcomes.

This particular group also incorporated different practise frameworks, such as cognitive
behavioural therapy (CBT) and narrative therapy to help group members successfully understand
their goals and the resources needed to attain those goals. Based on the literature, CBT is a goal
directed and semi structured therapy that seeks to change negative thinking patterns and reduce
maladaptive behaviours to promote socio emotional well being (CUCARO, 2017). This
framework is evident within the facilitated role play activities (i.e. 05:25 06:50) that encouraged
members to walk through a scenario and identify their thoughts, feelings, and bodily responses.
This CBT activity gave group members the opportunity to critically analyze their own coping
strategies (successful or otherwise) as well as receive feedback from other members around what
worked well and what alternatives could be implemented in a safe setting. This psycho educational
group also utilized a narrative therapy model, in which people are encouraged to recount their
stories as related to the circumstances at hand... (Roberts Yeager, 2006; White, 1989). During the

As the internet becomes an essential part of daily life for most of the population, the youth have
quickly adopted its usage. The increased availability of television, film, music, and video games has
made these forms of entertainment popular choices for young consumers. Along with the increase
in media options, media s depiction of violence has increased as well. Concern over the increased
violence in the media has prompted research on its effect of child development. Initiatives to try
and control the amount of violence consumed by younger people include a video game rating
system and parental alerts for television programs. Unfortunately, ... Show more content on

Regardless of the rating system to help empower adults control what their children purchase and
consume, the exposure to violent media often occurs anyway (Becker Olsen Norberg, 2010). Many
parents feel that it is difficult to control every aspect of media that their children come into contact
with and are often not convinced that any adverse effects occur (Vessey Lee, 2000).
The range in media form can cause many to conclude that one form may be more harmful than
another. Over the last decade, video and computer games have gained popularity as the most
common way for children and adolescents to spend leisure time (Vessey Lee, 2000). Over eighty
percent of today s most popular video games contain violence (Vessey Lee, 2000), showing that
there is a strong preference for these types of games in the market. Television and filmmakers have
also taken leaped towards more violent programming and content that appeal to their audience.
These visual images of violence have been determined to increase aggressive behavior in frequent
viewers as well as desensitize the population towards violent acts (Videogames|and|Violence, 2007).
Violent media can exist without images in the form of music, often rap or hip hop. Studies have
linked frequent exposure to these violent lyrics to aggressive and deviant behaviors similar to those
shown by adolescents (Miranda Claes, 2004). Although there are distinct differences in

Faith and Organized Religion Essay
Many skeptics in today s culture are convinced that organized religion does more harm than good.
Many of these people make persuasive arguments that are or can be conclusive. In some cases,
they say, a church, has too much power, is filled with politics and its rituals take away from God
and put emphasis on one s self; therefore, faithis what matters. In the novel A Portrait of The Artist
as Young Man by James Joyce, readers see Stephen go through life with faith, surrounded by others
with faith and religious activities. After a while, Steven loses sight of true faith, forgets Godand
becomes an artist.
Faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. Many
people choose to either believe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The preacher then cautiously warns him that participating in this sin will take over his life. After
this confession, he found his faith and became a new man. Stephen began rituals, Sunday was
dedicated to the mystery of the Holy Trinity, Monday to the Holy Ghost, Tuesday to the Guardian
Angel... (Portrait, 103). Stephen immediately jumped from being only concerned with himself,
doing nothing for the Lord and engulfed in sin. Stephen even wore rosary, then at the end he lost
faith. Stephen consumed himself with acts and rituals so much that it could be said he lost faith.
The rituals took him away from God and put emphasis on what he wanted to be, an artist. The
rituals of organized religion pushed him to the edge.
As Stephen was in the transaction of sanctification, he started to go through the motions.
Stephen did everything according to feeling. For example, when he felt like he was not saved,
he repented to gain God s power. A restless feeling of guilt would always be present with him: he
would confess, repent, and be absolved, confess and repent again and be absolved fruitlessly
(Portrait, 109). Stephen was entirely in control of his own thoughts; he knew he could go back to
the way he was at any second. Stephen wanted to be free and to express himself for who he was
and not who everyone wanted him to be. After a long struggle between this ritualistic attitude, he
felt tied to the rituals of his religion. Stephen

Spring Prompt 2016 Greta Slaats
One day I was taking a hike in the Himalayan mountains and came upon a big wall of stone
blocking the path. In the middle of the stone wall was a round little door with a key hanging on
a hook beside it. Being cautious I crept up to the door and knocked. I don t know who would
have answered the door if someone had answered. I was puzzled and stuck to the spot thinking
of what to do. I decided to walk back to my village way down below and come back tomorrow to
see if the wall was still there. When I got home I ran straight to the town square to go to my father
s workshop. I told Papa all about my journey in the mountains. He warned me of animals that
would take me away to the darkest corners and eat me up. Just then Tijana came running into the
store. There is a tiger in the rice fields! he shouted. Every once in awhile the wild beasts from the
jungle would come into the valley in which the village sat. Our bravest men would shoot arrows
and protect us. When the creature went away or was dead we would celebrate, but that never ...

As we hiked along Tijana and I pointed out red pandas and other animals along the path. Once
we got to where the door was I told Tijana of the door that we stood in front of. He didn t
understand what I was talking about. So we walked back down to the village. Tijana must have
thought that I was crazy because we didn t speak the whole way down. After I had dropped
Tijana off at his house I decided to go up to the door again. Tijana was not coming with me for he
was to much of a burden. Once I got up to the door I heard growling and there was a tiger right
about 25 yards away from me. I froze because he could have killed me right then and there. The
only option was to go through the door so I took that way out. Slowly, I grabbed the key and
unlocked the door and in one swift motion I quickly slipped through the

The Importance Of Inclusion In Early Childhood Education
The importance of every student being able to get ample opportunity in the classroom is very
imperative. However, there are times when teaching and educating in the class does not give
everyone that same opportunity thus creating a problem or difficulty for students to all feel
included. Inclusion in the early childhood setting is considered exemplifies the qualities,
approaches, and rehearses that bolster the privilege of each newborn child and youthful kid and his
or her gang, despite capacity, to take part in an expansive scope of exercises and settings as full
individuals from families, groups, and society. The coveted results of comprehensive encounters for
youngsters with and without incapacities and their families incorporate a feeling... Show more

One specialized instruction that is important is to read the material or introduce books that have
children with disabilities in it. This will help show the differences are okay and that everyone has
strengths and weaknesses (Willis, 2006). Something else I have to do is truly comprehended the
understudy and their handicap, accordingly permitting me to have the capacity to unmistakably
select housing to be made important to the material. I feel that the exceptionally guideline is to
keep the family included at all times also, permitting them in the classroom. This will permit them
to check whether the IEP/OR 504 arrangement is helping their youngster and permit them to make
proposals on the best way to help their tyke in the room setting.. The understudy s dynamic IEP or
504 Plan ought to contain documentation for all housing that have been chosen, both for guideline
and testing. Once recorded in the IEP or 504 Plan, facilities must be given. Those in charge of
actualizing lodging must comprehend the facilities are compulsory, not discretionary (Cortiella,
2005). However, with that being said the children should be allotted plenty of time to adjust to such
accommodations and not over use it or under use

Safety and tolerability of virucidal hand rubs: a randomized, double blind, cross over trial with healthy volunteers. Antimicrobial Resistance Infection Control, 4(1), 1. doi:10.1186/s13756 015 0079 y Background or Introduction Hospital acquired infections are a big problem today, but the use of disinfectants by the medical staff can help to avoid or limit such exposures to pathogens. The authors main purpose of this research article was to educate and teach the importance of hand hygiene and test the reason why certain virucidal hand rubs result in poor compliance due to the poor tolerability of the products. The overall goal with the study would to show the reason certain hand rubs are not being used and how to improve their formula to increase compliance. The article written by the author was very well written with a thorough abstract. The study was very easy to follow and read, due to the well thought out structure of the article. The authors introduction starts out by stating the approximate amount of hospital acquired infections in the European Union and why hand sanitizers play an important role to avoid such infections. • 3. Security Social Reform (SSR) Security Sector Reform, or SSR, is a type of governmental assistance in which another country supplies helpful support in the democratic direction. An example of this would be in Egypt when the United States Government helped develop their democracy. This sector also helps those who are used to being at war find places amongst society and be able to live their lives working a full time job, rather than a rebel outpost. The SSR uses the help of the citizens currently in place to form the democracy. In this sense, they do not go into the country and do anything. The SSR is assisting those who are already there. The following is a synopsis of the SSR and how it could help, and possibly has helped, the world. West Africa, a sometimes highly dangerous place, was subject to SSR attempts to help. The SSR is currently trying to find the sources of threat, which are, as Adedeji Ebo states, ...it is evident that the sources of threat are often internal and that the targets/victims are not merely states and security forces. (Ebo). The SSR is still trying to help the government and to some degree it has been successful. Another case was in Iraq, when the Iraqi government had problems as Arnold Luethold states, However, the Coalition Provisional Authority s (CPA) decision to dissolve all the forces, including the police forces, without prior consultation with Iraqis, has met considerable criticism in Iraq and abroad, for it was perceived to undermine Iraq s stability. • 4. The Garden Essay Andrew Marvell s The Garden is a poem that through logical progression argues its already established point of view. It is a poem of meditation in a particular place, where the place presented influences the course of this meditative state. Even though filled with the imagery of nature the poem takes a rather pessimistic point of view, where it argues that total isolation from society and harmony with nature as the singular best way of living. Thus, the whole of the poem centers on the idea of wholesome nature in a world without the instruction of mankind. In the first three stanzas, the virtues of the garden are provided through comparison with the trial (and supposed pleasures) of the world of men, stanzas five through seven address... However, as he does so the speaker seem to fully inhabit neither of these worlds, and his praise of the garden is lessened by doubt in the very stanza that should establish the garden s virtues, the speaker cant even be certain that those virtues exist: Your sacred plant, if here below, / Only among the plants will grown (13 14). The words if and will signify that such was not yet achieved. However, the last two lines of the come back to the central idea of the negation of humanity: Society is all but rude/ To this delicious solitude (15 16) implying that the society is harmful to this perfect harmony of the garden. The argument of the poem in the third and fourth stanzas still remains that of humanity against nature, however this time with an emphasis on sexual passions. Here, the pleasures of human erotic pursuit are found decidedly wanting when compared to the pleasures of the garden. The pleasures compared are of a kind: No white nor red was ever seen / So amorous as this lovely green (17 18). The colors of white and red are emblematic of female beauty (Rumrich, 554.9) ... As a direct result, the amount of elderly people in our society will also rise. At first glance, this may seem like a positive growth in our society. However, when taking a second look, you come to realize that with such a positive trend comes a negative trend: the growth of ageism. Ageism consists of the stereotypical and discriminatory viewpoints placed upon an individual based solely on age (Hooyman Kiyak, 2018). Stereotypes generalize large groups of people primarily on the behaviors or appearances of just a small percentage of people within that group (Cambridge, 2017). Loveis a unique and complicated neurological emotion which is very difficult to understand. It is just like hunger and thirst, but just more permanent. Many of us talk about love as if we have no control over it, as if it is unconditional or blind, in the sense that we have no control over it. Many artists and poets use the heart as a symbol that represents love, even though the truth is that it occurs in our brain. Unlike modern society, the older generations did not only use the word love to describe all the various emotions that go along with it. There are many different forms of expressing love. The three words, I love you, take on varying meanings to a friend, to a parent, or to a significant other. In order to describe these forms, the Ancient Greeks invented four distinct words for love : agГЎpe, Г©ros, storge, and philГa. The main focal point of this photo is the large tree branch in the foreground. This branch has several offshoots from it with dainty white flowers. Looking past this I see several other trees in the background, all with flowers blooming on them, but none with leaves. In the farthest background, there is a metal fence that is separating several people from the garden of trees. There is also a partial shack in the background on the far most right hand side of the picture. I also see what appears to be the back of a sign, mostly hidden, in the upper left corner of the foreground. It appears to be sunset during the painting, with the horizon lighter and the higher sky a red color. There are several blocks of oriental writings, a red rectangle in the lower left corner over the body of the treebranch; then two in the top right corner in the sky, one green square and... The artist did include knots on the tree trunks and knobs on the tree branches to add to the detail. Also, there is the metal fence in the background, that creates a line across the horizon. The fence has both horizontal and vertical lines on it to form the pattern of the fence. According to different age groups, there are a variety of psychosocial concerns and developmental considerations that health professionals should be aware of in the pediatric unit. The environment of the emergency room is busy and chaotic, which can increase the level of anxiety and stress for the whole family. For infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children, parentseparation is a common factor that makes them anxious (Brunnquell Kohen, 1991). They also claim that because a punishment is supposed to fit the crime teenagers who have committed high level crimes deserve to be tried as adults. Another popular claim is that the adult court system lowers juvenile recidivism. What these individuals fail to see is the psychological trauma that adult courts have on adolescents. Instead of being tried as adults, children should be tried in juvenile because children s brains are not fully developed, there are flexible sentences, and juvenile courts allow for more rehabilitation. First, children do not have the necessary brain development to comprehend the court... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Proponents of the abolition of juvenile court fail to realize that even teenagers do not have the emotional development to fully understand what is happening. According to Robin Nixon, adolescents have an entirely new set of intense emotions which makes rational decision harder. She reported, Part of the limbic system, the amygdala is thought to connect sensory information to emotional responses. Its development, along with hormonal changes, may give rise to newly intense experiences of rage, fear, aggression (including toward oneself), excitement and sexual attraction (Nixon). These intense emotions cause adolescents to act irrationally. To say that teenagers have the emotional stability and maturity to be tried as an adult is preposterous. There are many problems that arise when a child is tried in adult court. These issues surface as emotional breakdowns, a lack of remorse, and even aggression. The harsh environment of an adult court does not mix with a child s emotional needs. Emotional breakdowns stem from nervousness and guilt while a lack of remorse stems from younger children failing to understand what they did and aggression is an automatic response to what is happening around these children. Instead of treating them as adults, the justice system needs to keep the juvenile justice court in order to give these children a fair trial and rehabilitation. • 28. Reflection Of Odysseus Trying to decipher a person is a difficult task, perhaps impossible. We can, however, observe their actions, their experiences and their resemblance to other people to make some progress in comprehending them. Deciphering Odysseus is especially strenuous, for he is shown as a crafty liar who tricks others to get what he wants. Additionally, we cannot tell where the truths end and the lies begin. Consequently, we might not be able to wholly answer who Odysseusis but if we are to understand the Odyssey, we first have to understand Odysseus. Homer has constructed Odysseus as a complex character who is capable of molding himself into different forms to get the best out of his surroundings. Despite this complexity, Homer has given us enough clues to be able to recognize his actions. Of these clues, some are explicit and obvious, others are implied and can be deduced via his speeches and his acts. The explicit ones are easy, he is described to be, among other things, wise, kind and resourceful. The proofs of these can be seen numerous times in the text and thus be taken at face value. The real difficulty starts when we move past the explicit to the implicit. To grasp his nature, we have to observe the other roles in the book who share parts of his experiences, personalities or aims. Consider Telemachus. Despite the clear difference between his and Odysseus` stature, other people like Nestor and Menelaus have no trouble accepting him to be the son of Odysseus after hearing him ... IMAP functions similarly to POP3 in that its function is very similar. It is used when downloading emails from mail servers. There are a few differences between the two. With IMAP the mail client is synced with the mail server. An example of this would be reading an email on a mail client( Outlook Express ) and this change being reflected on the mail server. This differs from POP3 because POP3 would not update the mail server, and the fact that the email was read would only be visible on that mail client. The next protocol is very important and called Secure Shell( SSH ). This protocol uses port 22 by default and is inc readably useful. Its intended purpose is to connect to a host that has an SSH server running and open a remote shell that is encrypted. This offers a lot of possibilities that make remote administration secure. One of the additional functions that SSH provides is the ability to create tunnels. The amount of possibilities with SSH tunnels is endless. It allows unencrypted protocols to pass through an encrypted tunnel and can repeated several times over several hosts to further encapsulate and secure data. In more modern times, flies are seen as less unclean and disgusting creatures than they were in the past, but in Gascoigne s day, that would not have been the case. The same holds true for mice in Gascoigne s day, mice were seen as pests to be rid of at all costs. No one would have sympathized with a mouse.
