How To Write Literature Essays
Writing an essay on the topic "How To Write Literature Essays" might initially seem like a
straightforward task, given the apparent clarity of the subject. However, delving into the
intricacies of such a topic can reveal the multifaceted nature of literature essays and the
challenges associated with crafting a comprehensive piece.
Firstly, one must navigate through the vast realm of literature itself. Literature encompasses a
myriad of genres, periods, and styles, making it crucial to decide on a specific focus for the
essay. The process of selecting relevant examples, authors, or literary works to analyze adds a
layer of complexity, requiring a deep understanding of various literary elements.
Next comes the challenge of understanding and applying literary theories and critical
approaches. Analyzing literature involves more than just summarizing plots; it requires an
exploration of themes, characters, symbolism, and cultural contexts. Integrating these elements
seamlessly into an essay demands not only a grasp of the material but also an ability to
synthesize information coherently.
Crafting a compelling thesis statement poses another hurdle. It is essential to formulate a clear
and arguable thesis that sets the direction for the entire essay. This requires critical thinking and
the ability to articulate a unique perspective on the chosen literary topic.
Furthermore, the essay must demonstrate a nuanced understanding of language and style. The art
of literary analysis involves examining how authors use language to convey meaning and evoke
emotions. Conveying these insights in a written form necessitates a high level of proficiency in
expressing ideas eloquently and persuasively.
Organizing the essay is yet another challenge. Structuring the content in a logical and coherent
manner, with a well-defined introduction, body, and conclusion, is essential for conveying ideas
effectively. Transitioning smoothly between paragraphs and ensuring a seamless flow of ideas
requires meticulous planning and editing.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "How To Write Literature Essays" is no small feat. It demands
a comprehensive understanding of literature, critical thinking skills, proficiency in language and
style, and the ability to structure ideas coherently. While the task may be daunting, the process
itself is undoubtedly a valuable learning experience for any aspiring writer or literature enthusiast.

Abstract
The purpose of the Knowledge Management System (KMS) is to collect, interpret
and share the knowledge between the stakeholders of any community or organization.
The very first thing KMS is the development of the knowledge which comes from
learning, innovation, creativity and importation from the outside of any environment
where KMS needs to be applied. A similar activity had been done by Celemi

The company is a medium sized company with around 100 employees and it
provides the consultancy services for the change management. During the whole
process described in the case study, different KMS tools were used to effectively
transfer the knowledge and adaptation of the models developed for the monitoring
of intangible assets. This paper will briefly review the methods and tools which are
used in this case study and these tools then will be compared with the others. A
comparison about the performance and adaptability will be presented based on the

Knowledge management system normally acts as a future development planning of
any organization (Neeharika, et al., 2013). It develops the system through which the
information, knowledge, techniques and methods are shared with the external and
internal stakeholders of any organization (Agrawal, 2014). This sharing of
knowledge act as a base for the future development and progress of any organization
(Gandini, et al., 2014).
Although knowledge management is a very recent phenomena, the research on the
topic and tools and techniques which are used to develop an effective system of
knowledge management, dramatically increases in the past few years (Alavi Leidner,
2001). The field of knowledge management can be broadly classified into three
subfields, including techno centric, organizational and ecological. Each
Comparing Fahrenheit 451 And The Eleventh Plague
Contrasting starkly with both Fahrenheit 451 and The Eleventh Plague, Jak II is a
video game sequel for the Playstation 2 created by Naughty Dog, LLC, which
focuses on Jak and his partner Dexter who join an underground resistance in order to
fight back the leader who had Jak tested on. Going through the game, many common
characteristics found around Haven City, the setting of the game, are unnecessary
brutality from the authority figures, abuse of power from many wealthy characters,
and the unjust treatment of low class citizens. When walking around the open world
in Jak II, a common sight are the Krimzon Guards, the authority figures, which are
meant to exaggerate police brutality. Sporting red armor with a gas mask and a Blast

Being that forensic science focuses on the retrieval of evidence for the court of law,
and that in that court of law people are often judged by a jury of their peers, it is
natural that the effects of their day to day world often come into play with their
courtroom experience.
The CSI effect is by all accounts a continuously developing issue for the present and
future jurors of the American justice system. As difficult as it might be to believe,
there are many individuals out there that have difficulties dissevering the reality and
capability of chemistry, physics, and human beings, from what they believe and hold
to be true in the media. As jurors, these are potentially the jurors that will begin
asking for more proof, or for what valid reason they have not seen certain evidence
items that don t even exist in that particular case. Being that humans are easily
influenced, scrutinizing the proof that has been given can cause a domino effect on
other jurors and the decision they have thought to hold true. According to the National
Institute of Justice, a whopping 46 percent of people had the expectation of evidence

Reggae Music s Influence On American Culture
Reggae Music
Music itself is often times a strong indicator of a society s culture, history, and
beliefs. Sometimes however, when another group listens to one society s music they
also make connections to lyrics, sounds, and melodies that were put into the song.
This is very much the case with Reggae music as not only did it take off in Jamaica,
its country of origin, but the United States and parts of Europe as well. Jamaicans
viewed music as a way to pass down traditions and as a way to pass through
difficult times. Reggae music often times discusses the suffering of the Jamaican
people in its lyrics. Reggae developed from preceding styles of music like Ska and
Rocksteady and the name appears to translate differently depending on which ... Show

People who feel no connection what so ever to the continent of Africa or the history
of Jamaica can feel connected to some of the songs. A popular Reggae song One
Love by Bob Marley is able to attract listeners and fanatics from many regions of
the world. ( Bob Marley One Love Lyrics ) It is in the style of Reggae music, but
doesn t sound to the listener to be from any specific event or place. It s general
enough to appeal to a wide range of audiences. Many of the songs with an upbeat
and easy going feel to them put people into a relaxed state. As stated before other
groups began to be incorporated in the music and to make it their own. Over time this
changes and influences music. It can stretch the limits of the music to include people
outside of its original culture and intended audience. This is how people who have no
connection to the history of Reggae can come to enjoy and embrace the sound of the

Praise Of Bill Peters, Coach Of The Carolina Hurricanes
In Praise of Bill Peters
Now firmly into his third season as a head coach in the NHL, Bill Peters, coach of
the Carolina Hurricanes, has a lot of work in front of him to get this team into post
season contention. Through his first two years with the organization, Peters is still
yet to participate in the playoffs. In fact, it has been seven years since Carolina last
saw the playoffs.
Peters current lack of post season success shouldn t be an immediate point for
concern, as he came into the team during a major recession in terms of team talent.
Most notably offensive stars Alexander Semin and Eric Staal both had major drops
in terms of point production during Peters first two seasons, both see their way out of
Carolina.
It appears though for this season the pieces are beginning to fall into place for Peters
vision of this team. Their level of play over the past few games has been as high as it
has ever been in recent years, as the team as a whole is able to play effectively in all
ends.
This quick turnover time shouldn t come as a shock to anyone given Bill Peters
outstanding performances behind the bench for other teams.

Fashion insiders also have another mental map the map of seasons and shows. When
consumers shop for winter coats or summer swimsuits, fashion insiders are seasons
ahead in their thinking.
Forecasters use these mental maps to organize their observations of directional
information. Since innovations rarely apply to the entire marketplace, information
must be tagged for the appropriate price point, category and classification. In this
way, forecasters turn random bits of data into useful information for decision support,
points and style directions.
The drivers of fashion change
Social and cultural changes are major determinants of emerging fashions. However,
they are themselves affected by the other drivers of change that include globalization
of world markets and accessibility of more sophisticated communications
technologies. The latter has provided people with faster and wider access to more
ideas and influences from other cultures and societies, driving demand for wider
choice in fashion products.
The Fashion Forecasting Process
Trend forecasting businesses
French companies based in Paris have traditionally dominated fashion forecasting.
Although a number of larger ones are still based in Paris, many with satellite offices
around the world, a number of new niche forecasters have emerged offering their own
specialties of product and services. Some better known trend forecasters include:

By doing this, we can take away the ability for an attacker to make any changes to
the database.
In the following example if the code is run with read and write permissions the
attacker could potentially delete all that data in the database. ; DROP TABLE users; #
But by having the database be read only for the executing script we can able to
make any changes to the database so drop table users command would have no effect
on the database as a whole.
4.Configure Error Reporting: When attempting to attack a server, attacker tries to
get any information possible which hook on unauthorized access to the server. If an
attacker can cause a script to crash to split out any error messages, it helps to figure
out the system s potential vulnerabilities. However, if all the error messages are
written internally it doesn t get any feedback about what s going on in the application
making it much more challenging to find a security vulnerability.
5. Prevention Using Stored Procedures [13]: Stored procedures are being a part of
database help applications to interact with database server [13]. The blend of static
examination and runtime investigation is utilized to keep this put away system. The

Comparing Life Of Pi And The Tyger By William Blake
Life of Pi by Yann Martel, and The Tyger by William Blake can be seen as
comparable from numerous viewpoints.
Though one is a novel and the other is a short poem, the two pieces of writing can be
thoroughly analyzed on their perspectives and themes to highlight important aspects
in each.
The stories contain a similar animal theme and both question God, yet they differ in
their views on God.
A similar aspect in the two stories is the animal theme.
When Pi is trapped on a lifeboat, his only company is a Bengal Tiger. It was in this
circumstance that Pi understood the animal need for survival. Pi says of his
transformation from a strict vegetarian into someone who expected to kill to
survive, that, I descended to a level of savagery I never imagined possible. (218).
Everyday, Pi felt like he was at a crucial point in his life, since he didn t know
whether he would live to see tomorrow, especially with Richard Parker on the
lifeboat. This is when Pi s animal instincts kicked in and mirrored that of the tiger s.
The animal inside of him, and his survival instincts ended up plainly evident in his
battle for survival.
In the poem The Tyger, the animal theme is exhibited through the narrator s
relentless questions of the tiger. In the poem it says, What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry? (23 24). This happens to be the narrator s way of
asking who would dare to create an animal so vicious and dangerous. Throughout the
poem, the speaker asks various questions about the ferocity of the creature. Be that as
it may, this is the nature of a tiger. They are wild animals that are dangerous, and act
on instinct.
In the two stories, the animal theme depicted conflicts with civilization. Pi was
forced to abandon his knowledge and behaviour from the civilized life he once led,
in order to embrace his animal instincts and survive. In The Tyger , we can see the
contempt of the speaker while considering the behaviours of the wild animal. By
looking at this similar element from the two stories, it is easier to perceive how the
two cases may be seen. Pi could be looked upon like the tiger, in that they were
similar in their animal ways. Many individuals would not have the strength to do
what Pi
Similarities Between The Matrix And Suicide In The Trench
One s perception on the problems in the society changes as new perspective are
introduced, and the consequence of an altered perspective results in different
outcomes both positive and negative. The film, The Matrix produced by the
Wachowski Brothers in 1999 and the poem Suicide in The Trench by Siegfried
Sassoon explore this concept of altering perspective. The matrixuses the theme The
power of authority to manipulate to challenge each individual s perception on what
they consider to be the reality and explored the outcome that follows after one s
perspective is altered. Similarly, Suicide in the Trench challenge the idea of illusion,
truth and reality through the theme Propaganda and manipulation and conveyed a
similar idea. Both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This text explored this concept through the issue of propaganda creating a false
illusion which glorified and endorsed the idea of war. The propaganda manipulated
many young boys hastening to participate in the war. The text emphasised the author
s negative perception of war through an insight into a young boy s changing
perspective from glorifying war to realising its full horror. In the first stanza, a
positive perception on war was established through the use of emotive language such
as Joy whistled and grinned . The first stanza established the original perception of
war for the audience. The emotive language used in the second stanza cowed... glum
juxtapose with the first stanza. This emphasised the shifted perspective of the young
soldiers, they are no long joyful, hopeful for they have experienced the horror of war.
The harsh condition and the mental state of these young soldiers was represented
through the symbolism of winter trench in the second stanza. Winter represent death,
loneliness or an end, and trench represent somewhere filthy and confined. Sassoon
used winter trench to symbolise the harsh reality of the war, the depression of the
young soldiers and their belief that they were confined and that there were nowhere
out. Through the use of juxtaposition, emotive language and symbolism, the author

Following the Boston Tea Party 2 years earlier, the British formed a blockade of the
Boston harbor, destroying the city s thriving trade based economy. As a result of this
blockade, thousands of colonists were put out of work, and onto the streets, thirsty for
revenge. Also, now that Boston was functionally under British occupation, these
angry colonists frequently met British soldiers on the street which never went well
further escalating the tensions between the British and the Americans. Suddenly,
people who had never cared much for politics were caught in the conflict and forced
to choose sides, leading to increased polarization on the issue of independence.

В· The British landed near Dorchester Heights and will likely march around Boston
in an attempt to outflank the colonists.
Significance of Boston and Breed s Hill:
1. Propaganda and Public Opinion: The Continental Congress sought to use a victory
at Boston to continue the momentum they had gained from the battles of Lexington
and Concord and generate more support for the rebel cause.
2. Military: The colonists could use the upcoming conflict to demonstrate the
strength of the colonial army, and that they have a real chance of winning this war.
Furthermore, Both Bunker and Breed s Hill as well as Dorchester Heights are
strategic positions, crucial to the defense of Boston. 3. Political: Support for the
suppression of the Rebels is at an all time low in the British parliament, and thus a
victory for the colonists could widen the conflict between the Tories and the Whigs.
However, despite parliament s objections, King George is still firmly in favor of the
war. Also, success in this battle could win foreign support for the war from enemies
of Britain such as France and

Persuasive Essay On Same Sex Adoption
Adoption saves many children s lives and gives them new opportunities to create a
life they may desire. Adoption keeps children out of homeless shelters and prevents
them from living on the streets. Even though adoption provides many positives for
children, many adoption agencies, state governments, and birth parents do not agree
with same sex couples adopting children. There has been discrimination against same
sex couples adopting a child for decades. More than one hundred thousand children
are waiting to be adopted in the United States. Many children wait for a permanent
home with loving parents, and same sex couples should be granted the same rights as
heterosexual couples when it comes to providing children with a loving and happy
home. After the nineteenth century adoptionbecame less secretive, and modern
adoption laws were created to keep children safe, but there remains a stigma
against LGBT+ parents adopting children. Adoption is when an adult becomes the
legal guardian of another person s child, and adopting a child gives a person the
chance at becoming a mother or father (Barr p.10). There are several types of ways
to adopt a child. Potential parents can decide to adopt a child through an attorney,
facilitator, state agency, or private agency (p. Barr 29 33). Most agencies require
prospective parents to disclose their sexual preference when filling out adoption
papers to either eliminate the couple from their agency, or allow birth mothers to

Persuasive Speech On Aliens
After speaking with me a little, it doesn t take long to realize I am a giant nerd. I
love Science Fiction and I never turn down a good Outer Limits or Doctor Who

Recently, I was very excited to be a part of a discussion on aliens. The topic was
What if the aliens were actually watching us? Even further, what if they were
watching us and judging us based on how we treat people with disabilities. Perhaps
that s why aliens haven t communicated with us. Why people with disabilities

physical gestures to communicate. Author Temple Grandin mentioned in an

that many aliens have similar backgrounds to people with disabilities. I would be

My Writing Philosophy
To succeed as an elementary school teacher, I need each one of my students to
succeed. When I first decided to become an educator, I had it in my mind that
reading was the backbone of the classroom. However, after this semester, I have
learned writing is every bit as important as reading. Classroom teachers as well as
writing researchers have discovered that even young children communicate through
writing, and that hey begin writing as they re learning to read or even before they can
read. (Tompkins, 2012 p. 4). In order to succeed as a writing teacher, I will need to

The ability to diagram a sentence does not make a good writer. There are many
students capable of identifying every part of speech who are barely able to
produce a piece of prose. (College Entrance, 2003 p. 16). Grammar and writing are
not one in the same, and the previous statement tells me that writing instruction
needs improvement in today s classrooms. I firmly believe time is of most
importance when it comes to good writing. It s crucial that appropriate time is
carved out of every day for writing. I think it s important to make writing cross
curricular; this can be very time consuming, but allowing students to see the value of
writing in every subject will be beneficial to their future. During designated writing
time, I want to incorporate all five of the developmental stages of the writing process.
When a student can pre write, write, revise, edit and publish their work, they are

Bilbo Baggins Character Analysis
Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who lives in a hobbit hole he was a normal, but one day
all that changed when he heard a little knock at his door. What he did not know was
that it would lead him on a huge journey that would change him forever. It would
soon turn him from hobbit to hero. This journey has turned him into a hero. The
three instances where he was face to face with being a hero was once when he was
in the cave with Gollum, another when he fought the giant spider, and lastly when
he faced mass starvation and hunger. Bilbo ran into many problems on the way
,but quickly got through them. My personal favorite was when he was in the cave
with Gollum. He used his fast smart thinking to save himself from certain death. He
was in the middle of the game that was life or death. He had the quick thinking of
asking what is in my pocket so he could not guess so there fore Bilbo won. This
proves he has heroic skills now because if he was cowering Bilbo than he would not
have even tried to beat Gollum and most likely would have ended his life. He is
becoming more of a hero every chapter. He shows many qualities that proves even a
hobbitcan become heroic. But he still not quite there yet... Show more content on

Casablanca as Political Propaganda Essay
Casablanca debuted in 1942, shortly following the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the
United States entrance into World War Two, although there was plenty of anti
Nazism sentiment, the movie fueled these feelings. There is pro Allied forces
propaganda to support the war, from the scene with La Marseillaise, to the characters
of Renault and Rick, and to the last scene. Although the majority of the French
patriots were elated to sing their national anthem, it created tension with the German
soldiers who imposed their patriotic songs on the crowd, representing the imposition
of Germany on Franceduring the war. Captain Louis Renault, who tries to placate
who he believes will be the winning side, seems flimsy when compared to Rick, the

The anthem stirs up the patriotism in the people as they slowly join the fight, all of
which is happening under the roof of an American man?s cafГѓ . Without the
American cafГѓ , the French patriots would not have been able to fight and
embarrass the Germans with the song, so with American equipment, the French are
able to fight back. Variety Magazine in 1942 describes the film as having, ?splendid
anti Axis propaganda, particularly inasmuch as the propaganda is strictly a by
product of the principal action and contributes to it instead of getting in the way? It
is just another facet of the variety of moods, action, suspense, comedy and drama
that makes ?Casablanca? a number one entry at the box office? (variety). This
message is important for American viewers especially because it emphasizes the
necessity of the Americans in the war efforts and their vital role.
The characters in Casablanca all contribute to the political allegory, for example Rick
is strong and isolated like America, Strasser is the typical Nazi general representing
Germany, and Renault is compliant with the Germans like France. American Rick
and European Louis look out for each other s interests throughout the film, just as
America and Western Europe did once the United Statesentered the war. Renault had
to obey and follow the Strasser?s demands until he had leverage and the knowledge
that he could defeat or overcome

As a result, others who came were often considered foreigners because their race,

(_Attitudes Towards Immigrants_). Trudeau was the first to imply
Multiculturalism in Canada. By implying it, it allowed Canada to be a much more
diverse and equal place. It also promotes respect for peoples distinct cultural
identity. Implying multiculturalism to Canada was one of Trudeau s greatest
accomplishments. Pierre Trudeau was a leader who not only brought change by
bringing new laws to Canada, but he changed the way people viewed other laws.
Trudeau listened to the majority, but also protected the rights of the minority
which demonstrates he is a strong leader. He once said Canada will be a strong
country when Canadians of all provinces feel at home in all parts of the country,
and when they feel that all Canada belongs to them. (CBC Archives) Trudeau has
always strived for greatness and has been successful in many cases. As in the FLQ
crisis, Trudeau declared a brief period of Martial Law using the War Measures Act
(WMA). By doing this, he completely changed the view of the WMA. It had been
assumed that the WMA would be used in times of crisis, such as famines,
depressions, pandemics and other serious situations that are serious to Canada s well
being. However, Trudeau demonstrated how it can be used
Perdue Farms Swot Analysis Essay
Perdue Farms Inc.
I) Introduction Founded by Arthur W. Perdue in 1920, Perdue Farms, Inc. has always
focused on quality. To improve the quality of his stock, Arthur Perdue bought leghorn
breeding stock from Texas and mixed his own chicken feed. By 1940, Arthur Perdue
realized that higher profits would come from selling the chickens, not the eggs. In
1950, Arthur Perdue s son, Frank, took over leadership of the company and led the
company into vertical integration. Perdue Farms controlled its own hatchery, feed
formulations, and feed mill. Vertical integration continued and in 1968, Perdue Farms
bought its first processing plant. The most important change occurred in the 1970s

Also, one shipload on its way to Russia vanished and was later found to be
impounded using forged documents. Control is this area needs improvement. The
location of Perdue Farms processing plants could have been chosen better. Most of
the industry is located in the Northeast, creating pollution concerns with the high
levels of nitrogen and phosphorus in the chicken manure. In addition, labor costs,
regulations, and resource costs are more favorable in other parts of the country.
III) External Analysis A) Opportunities Turkey and chicken are leaner meats and are
popular in current diets trends. Turkey products in particular are becoming
increasingly popular as a substitute for beef. Ground turkey, turkey bacon, and turkey
sausages are some of the latest, healthier substitutes and have high potential for
increased profits. Rivalry is tough in this mature industry and consolidation is
becoming popular since the smaller companies can not keep up with strict regulations
and the large capital investments required to expand. Perdue Farms is in a good
position to acquire these small companies before the competition does. International
trade is an opportunity with potential for huge success. Japan has high standards for
quality and Perdue Farms fits in nicely here. The market may not be very strong in
other countries, but with the right moves in customizing products, Perdue Farms
could make international

The common theme was something that was rare or special in nature. The works
were organized by the artist who painted it. All the works that one painter painted
were put by each other, and so the works were organized by the artist name except
for the stand alone walls. That was were award winners were. The medium for all

The work is a picture of a lake at sunset that is covered with water lilies. The
medium was pastel. The composition of the work draws your eyes to where the

the work create a cool feeling near the surface of the water, but the sky creates a
warm feeling. So there is a contrast of temperatures created by the work. The

Miss Havisham Is A Dynamic Character
The book Great expectations was published in 1861 and it is the thirteenth novel
by Charles Dickens, one of the most important and influent novelists of the English
history. The story is set in the nineteenth century England, more precisely in
London, and around the marshes of Kent. The main character and narrator is Pip.
He tells the story of his life, beginning from his childhood, in the marshes of Kent,
to his youth as wealthy young gentleman, ending with the realisation that money is
not everything. Pip is a very dynamic character, whose personality changes a lot
throughout the story. Initially Pip is a poor, naive boy that is forced to live with
his sister and her husband, since all the other members of his family died. Pip s
childhood was very troubled mainly because of his sister, who held against him the
fact that he was brought up by hand , and he therefore had to show her gratitude

solitarily woman, who lives in deep depression from the day her heart was broken
when she was left at the altar. Because of this, she hates all men, and she taught
Estella to hate them and to make them suffer. Pip falls in love with Estella and he

My View Of Life After Death
Growing up with a very devout, spiritual parent, I was taught from very early on
that God was all knowing. I was also taught that humans have the freedom to make
their own choices about their lives and that is what determines whether one will
ascend to Heaven or descend into Hell. Whether someone choses to accept Christ
as their Lord and Savior is what will determine your life after death. I accepted this
as truth for a very long time, as I had no exposure to different views. I would argue
with my LDS peers on the meaning of Heaven and Hell and their nonbelief, and I
would trust everything I was taught without much question. In college, things
changed. I still believe in God, but differently. I have struggled with my own beliefs
for a while now, because everything I have known is being, or has been challenged
by discussions in my classes. I cannot imagine a life without my relationship with
God, but I also have a lot of questions, that my mother would balk at. In this paper I
aim to answer these questions, after critically explaining and analyzing Augustine s
views on free will. The main focus of the paper will be my own beliefs and my own
conclusions, and thoughts on how humans can be both predetermined and have
free will. I aim to show my understanding on Augustine and also provide a clear and
concise explanation of how and why I believe the way I do. The God of the
Christian bible is said to be omniscient, or all knowing, and if one is taught this from
a young age,

gas chamber. The prisoners feel anger toward the incomers also because the easiest
way to relieve your hate is to turn against someone weaker. Glimpses of true beauty,
dignity, and humanity show periodically within the camp. The narrator even refers
to the camp as being a heaven of peace... Suddenly I see the camp as a haven of
peace. It is true, other may be dying, but one is somehow still alive, one has enough
food, enough strength to work .... The narrator is also touched and surprised as

higher status or more grace. There is just something about this girl that makes him so

A brief summary of the events leading up to the case provided through the
University of Phoenix materials includes King s involvement in email
communications with Larkin, the mother of a 2 year old girl who would later be
abused by King sexually. Because Larkin and the child, known as Peanut , were
residing in King s residence, law enforcement would serve an arrest warrant there
against Larkin and to rescue Peanut from abuse by her caretakers. King walked the
officers to Larkin, who willingly gave up her computer to investigators. King
objected that his hard drive was in her computer and did not give permission for
officers to take it, but they did so regardless of his objections. King would later be
connected to further criminal activity and willingly went to speak with law
enforcement, where he made admissions to his involvement. King would later try to
have his admission and other evidence obtained through investigating Larkin as well
hidden when he was charged and faced trial for his crimes (University, 2016).
In regard to the 4th Amendment, King asserted that the police violated the Fourth

computer hardware was disputing the legality of its removal from someone else s

Marketing Activities, Tools And Strategies
Founded less than 2 years ago with a small band of 30 exceptionally talented
young people, the Never Settle motto of the Chinese startup company called
Oneplus popped into the headlines of tech magazines by creating an amazing
flagship killer handset dubbed Oneplus One. Few even heard of its name back
then and now, you will find long queues like that of Apple and Samsung, such that
it had to create an invite system, amping up the demand and a whole new
secondary market of reselling invites. How did it manage to sell over 1 million sets
in just 18 months, with a gross revenue of $300 million (as of 2014) and serving
over 35 countries including whole of Europe with almost no marketingbudget? The
powerhouse behind its galloping growth lies in its effective marketing and risk
control and this essay will discuss the key marketing activities, tools and strategies a
company uses to build its repute, and in this context, as a premium smartphone
manufacturer.
According to AMA (2013), Marketing is defined as the activity, set of institutions,
and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that
have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. It manages conveying
the right item, to the right individuals at the right cost and at the ideal time.
Marketing is the link that connect customers with the organisation as it is the only
department who knows the holistic nature of customers through it activity, such as
market research.

He went to Mecca, known as the Hajj, and this is a religious obligation that every
orthodox Muslim does at least once in a lifetime. On his pilgrimage to Mecca is
where he started looking at things differently. He saw that in the Muslim world the
white man is brotherly. He met with, talked to, and ate with people who in
America were considered white. He now wanted to unite people of all races under
the power of one God and believed that blacks all over the world should join to
combat racism. Malcolm returned from the pilgrimage as El Hajj Malik al

Holy Land he saw all races, all colors in true brotherhood living in unity, living as

Make sure you have extra pencils and pens so that you re never out. If you re using
a mechanical pencil, be sure to have extra lead. When you re organized, the less you
ll be stressing.
Have an organizational system in place, here are a few ways to do that.
Have a binder with dividers
Choose a binder that fits you needs and use dividers help you to separate each class
or subject. This way you re not carrying around too many notebooks. Separating
your binder with color dividers will cut down the time spent having to find each
class notes. If you decide that you don t want to use a binder, have different colored
notebooks for each class or subject. Once again this will make it easier for you.
Introduce a Planner
If your school doesn t provide a daily planner, get one for your child. A daily planner
will help them stay organized as to what s coming up, and what will be happening
on a daily basis. Your child can list their homework so that they re not forgetting
what s due. I know my children can be quite forgetful, especially when it comes to
homework. Having a planner where homework is written down keeps them
responsible. When the week is over, rip out the pages and start all over again. You
can keep the old pages in a folder at home to look back upon.

The broad approach to figuring out if compression garments reduced the increase in
muscle damage markers in blood due to prolonged exercise was tested using various
methods. Some of the methods that were used involved grading muscle soreness and
fatigue based on a 10 cm visual analog scale, with 0 cm indicating no pain or fatigue,
and 10 cm indicating the worst pain and fatigue. A thigh and calf circumference was
conducted by tape measurements for the pre marked sites that was distinguished
before the exercise started. Then a maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) of knee
extension and plantar flexion was assessed using an isokinetic dynamometer, and
finally, blood samples were taken by using the antecubital vein to determine different
components of blood with serum and plasma samples obtained by a centrifugation. As
discussed in the article, all of these tests, combined with other components, were used
to help each author in the article shed light on the idea that compression tights can
cause a difference during prolonged running (120 minutes or more) in dealing with
the decrease or reduction in muscle damage markers in the blood. The researchers in
this study used different means of measurement to gather information on different
aspects of the study. One thing the researchers did was use three different locations

Persuasive Essay On Trolling
Technology is one of the most efficient and fastest means of communication of the
modern times. In today society people have access to the internet within arm s reach
either through the smartphones, computers, or other devices. Access to the internet
has become part of the daily routine in modern society. While there is a lot of
information transmitted through the internet which can be very useful to some, there
is also information that can be misinterpreted and dangerous or offensive to others.
Based on the creatures from the Scandinavian mythology, trollis a common word
within the online users. The Oxford dictionary defines a trollas a person who makes
some deliberately offensive or provocative online posts. It is imperative that trolling
comments be moderated, since this is one of the two online bulling methods that
society is exposed now a days through social media platforms. To refute this type of
behavior society should be respectful of each other s opinions, detect the behavior of
a troll, and use common sense to ignore this type of attacks.
People who are dedicated to making trolling comments should be banned due to the
lack of respect for other s opinions. The respect for other s persons opinion is an
important trait that society seems to be forgetting about. There are many online
social media platforms that allows for communication among their users,
unfortunately there is no control in what is being said in these forums, as most users

The Case Morse Vs. Frederick
In the case Morse Vs. Frederick, a supreme court case that questioned the first
amendment, the main argument set out by Frederick was that the school s
principal, Morse, was that Morse violated Fredericks first amendment right. Juneau
Douglas High School was in session during the Olympic Torch Relay for the 2002
winter Olympics. The school decided that it would let its students and faculty out
for a short period to watch as the torchbearers passed the school. This was
considered a school event and was treated as a field trip. Joseph Frederick was a
senior at JDHS. He was a bit late coming to school that day. When Frederick arrived
to school during the event, he met up with some of his friends. They soon pulled
out fourteen foot banner that had the phrase: BONG HiTS 4 JESUS . The school s
principal, Deborah Morse, almost immediately told the students to take down the
banner. All but one student complied with Morse. That student was Joseph
Frederick. She told the boys to take the sign down because she believed that the sign
was encouraging the use of illegal drugs in school. She told Frederick to report to her
office where she later punished him by suspending him for ten days. Frederick
believed that his constitutional rights were being denied and that the first amendment
was violated in the process. Frederick sued Morse claiming that the school violated
his first amendment. Morse explained that she was not violating the first amendment
because the school has a school

Pre-Socrates Research Paper
The Pre Socratic philospers are the philosphers who lived before Socrates,
wondered mainly about reality. These philosphers wanted to know what is the true
reality and what is the true nature of things. The Pre Socratic philosphers also
wondered what is underlying meaning of reality and tried to figure out what the one
and true reality is. In this paper I will examine the various Pre Socratic Philosphers
theories of reality and how they influenced Platos theory of Forms. The various Pre
Socratic Philosphers I will be examining are Thales of Miletus, Anaximander,
Pythagoras, Heraclitus, Paramenides, Zeno, and The Atomists: Leucippus and
Democitus. The firstphilospher I will be researching about is Thales of Miletus.

Platos Forms are also called The theory of Ideas. Platos Form is the usual sense of
shape, structure, and appearance. The presocratics influenced Plato by their thinking
of reality such as Thales idea of reality was unified by water, while anaxiams idea
of reality was that reality was boundless and nothing can oppose it. Plato was able
to create the idea of forms from these pre socratics because of their ideas of reality.
One of PLatos Form is Intellgible which means as transcendent realtiese they
cannot be grasped by the senses but by only the intellect. These ideas come from
the help of the pre socratics who were already thinking about the idea where reality
was made of a specific thing. Plato was able to use all these ideas from the pre
socratics and was able to create the Platonic forms. I think that the Pre socratics
had started the idea of Forms for Plato and Plato elaborated the ideas of the
presocratics to create it. I think Plato used Heraclitus idea of the fire in one of his
forms. Platos form of Eternal was influenced by Heraclitus idea of fire. Platos
Eternal states that as transcendant realities they are no subject to time and therefore
not subject to motion and change. I believe Plato was also influenced by
Paramenides because of his idea of self evident truth or it is . This idea is where the

President Jimmy Carter had a Siamese cat the was named Misty Malarky Ying

Battle Of The American Revolution
The Battle of Yorktown was one of the most significant battles of the American
Revolution. Not only was it a major battle that helped end the war but also showed
the power of the Continental Army s field artillery. The battle was a major turning
point in establishing the freedom of the United States of America and was the last
major battle of the war. The Continental and French forces moved to Yorktown on 28
September 1781, however the first shot was not fired until 9 October of 1781. It was
roughly ten days of continuous artilleryfire that helped demoralize the British forces,
leading to their surrender on 19 October 1781.
The lead up to the Battle of Yorktown started when Lieutenant General Lord William
Cornwallis led his army to Yorktown to try and establish a deep sea port for British
use. His two year campaign through the south fighting against the likes of General
Nathanael Greene and General George Washingtontook its toll on his forces. He
marched his army of 7,000 troops to the harbor town of Yorktown located next to
the York River in Virginia. His original mission was to receive reinforcements and
supplies, however upon his arrival, General Sir Henry Clinton, the commander in
chief for the British forces, ordered General Cornwallis to secure the harbor and
prepare for extraction by the Royal Navy. General George Washington of the
American Forces, who was encamped at Dobbs Ferry, heard about Cornwallis
heading to Yorktown while he was assaulting the town
The Characteristics Of A Hero In Adam Brown s Fearless
God has a reason for everything in life. Sometimes we do not understand his
reasoning, we just have to stick to his plan and trust that he has put us on the right
path. He sends people into your life to be your hero, to save you. In the novel
Fearless, every person that came into Adam Brown s life, plays the role of a heroin
some way. Many people in this novel played the role of a hero, each in their own
unique way. Adam Brown was a Navy SEAL who took great pride in serving his
country. He was a strong, kind hearted, protective, and an all around respectable
man who always had a can do attitude and never gave up on anything or showed
weakness about anything. According to Eric Blehm, Adam did not do anything
half speed. He gave a 110% no matter what he was doing. All of those are great
qualities to have and that is what made him astonishing Navy SEAL. Before Adam
could become a Navy SEAL and be a hero to his country, he was a hero to his
family. Adam had one older brother, Shawn, and a twin sister, Manda. Together
with their parents, Janice and Larry, they were a family of five. Adam was always
over protective of his twin sister. According to the author, Adam s protective side
would shine when he and Manda would walk to school. They had to make their way
past the middle schoolhandball courts. Any smaller kid within range would be
bombarded with tennis balls. Adam would spread his arms out and side shuffle,
guarding me, keeping me close to him so the balls wouldn t hit
Why Did The Ku Klux Klan Start
Rough Draft
The Ku Klux Klan was first formed in 1865 and was a movement using violence
and torture to create a clean, pure white America. The KKK was in almost every
southern state and attacked many African Americans in order for white supremacy.
There are specific movements recorded, 1865 to the 1870s, 1915 to 1944, and 1946
to present day. The KKK s starting purpose, actions, and long lasting history have put
a negative outlook on the south.
The Ku Klux Klan had many reasons for why they started. Most white southerners
believed that God created black people for the special purpose of working and
serving white people (Bartoletti, 7). White southerners wanted black people to
continue being their slaves because they thought they served ... Show more content on

Floggings, horrific affairs, were often animalistic assaults that used tree limbs,
leather belts, rawhide whips, heavy wooden canes, branches, sticks, baseball bats,
and even, on at least one occasion, an automobile fan belt (Feldman, 93). Since the
Ku Klux Klan was primarily located in the south, these actions were used in the
south. Communities used these specific actions in order to be successful. These
actions were very harsh and were used to torture African Americans. Floggings
caused welts, bruises, blood clots, bleeding, broken bones, the loss of teeth, and
lengthy hospital stays for many Alabama victims (Feldman, 93). These floggings
caused many injuries to many of the southern African Americans. The KKK used
floggings against the African American so they will do what they say. Floggings
were a very very painful technique to use. Some lapsed into comas, suffered from
nervous breakdowns, or were permanently maimed; at least a few died (Feldman,
93). The KKK was extremely harsh putting people into such dangerous conditions
just to have white supremacy. These actions scared the African Americans into being
afraid of the south and the group primarily doing it known as the Ku Klux Klan. The
effective actions the KKK took were very harsh and caused a lot of people many

Difference In Culture In Everyday Use By Alice Walker
Being away from family for such a long time may cause a big difference in culture.
Not only culture, but just what a person is accustom to in general. Especially, if
they are not only away but living in an entire different part of the world. Many
families struggle and don t get along because of differences in behavior and in
culture. In the story, Everyday Use written by Alice Walker the narrator
throughout the
story is the mother of both Maggie, and Dee, however the story would be
somewhat different if it was written in the perspective of Maggie, Dee, or even an
omniscient narrator. First, If the story were written in Maggie s point of view, it
would not change quite as much. However, some things would become more clear
to the audience. For example, when Dee was arguing with Mama as to why she
should keep the quilts, had the story been told in her point of view the audience
would understand why she said, She can have them, Mama ... I can member
Grandma Dee without the quilts (Walker 7). Many who have read the story may
have their own beliefs of why she would willingly give up something that would
mean so much to her. Though Mama thought she knew exactly why. Perhaps she
offered it because earlier in the story Mama explained how she believed Maggie sees
Dee, ...eyeing her sister with a mixture of envy and awe. She thinks her sister has
held life always in the palm of one hand, and that no is a word the world never
learned to say to her (Walker 1). Dee has always
Decision Model Theory
Decision Theory Models
The Six Steps in Decision Theory * Clearly define the problem at hand. * List the
possible alternatives. * Identify the possible outcomes or states of nature. * List the
payoff or profit of each combination of alternatives and outcomes. * Select one of the
mathematical decision theory models. * Apply the model and make your decision.
Case
Here we use the Thompson Lumber Company case as an example to illustrate these
decision theory steps. John Thompson is the founder and president of Thompson
Lumber Company, a profitable firm located in Portland, Oregon.
Step 1

Let the coefficient of realism is a selected. The coefficient is between 0 and 1.
When a is close to 1, the decision maker is optimistic about the future. When a is
close 0 the decision maker is pessimistic. It helps the decision maker to build
feelings about relative optimism and pessimism. * Weighted average =a
(maximum in row) + (1 a)(minimum in row). * Equally likely (Laplace) one
criterion that uses all the payoffs for each alternative is the equally likely also called
Laplace decision criterion. This is to find alternative with highest payoff. * Minimax

regret.
Expected Value of Perfect Information * Formula
EVPI = A B
A = expected value with perfect information
B = expected value without perfect information
Calculation of (A) value: A = the best of each outcome x their prob.
The best of outcomes:
Best outcome= (100,000) (30,000)
A= 0.6 x 100,000 + 0.4 x 30,000 = 72,000
Calculation of (B) value: B = we select the max value of each given below
Outcome of each event:
0.6(50000) + 0.4 (30,000)= 42,000
0.6(100,000 0.4(40,000)= 44,000
0.6(30,000) + 0.4(10,000)= 20,000
The max value for all computed value = 44,000
EVPI = A B = 72,000 44,000 = 28,000

Shun Electronics Company is a medium sized firm with in the Malaysian electronics
industry. Currently there are two operating divisions, the KB Monitor division which
manufactures computer monitors, and the KL Radio division which makes radios.
For this case, we will be presenting the side from the KL Radio division. The KL
Radio division currently makes two basic radios a shelf model and a portable
model. Each of these models is available in three different versions; a bathroom
shower version, a 1950 s metal style cabinet version, and a wooden cabinet version.
Altogether there are 6 radios being produced at the company.
The current production process can be seen in three departments, assembly,

Overhead costs rates are revised annually but the standard for direct labor and
material are only changed when prices, production methods or production designed
are changed significantly.
However, an employee of Shun, Manjit, has decided to change the method in which
Shun Electronics calculates its costs of its products. Manjit wants to expand the
three departmental cost centers to eight, each with its own overhead cost allocation
rate. As a result, it appears that the total costs for four of their six radios will
increase, while two will decrease. This poses a great deal of issues concerning Shun
Electronics:
Standard cost of product change
Longer run functions such as price change, make/buy decisions, financial planning
and corporate management evaluation divisional performance are altered significantly
This new costing method may change current incentives of managers
Profit margins for some products decreased while others increased
This poses us with three alternatives we can take for Shun Electronics:
1.Continue on with our current cost model
2.Adopt Manjit s cost model
3.Alter Manjits model and compute new numbers
FIRST ALTERNATIVE
1.Continue on with our current cost model
With our old model, we will be able to continue onwards with our production.
However, this poses some serious problems for our product
Academic Benefits Of Year-Round Schooling
Year round Schooling
Ever wonder why you can t remember what you learned at the beginning of school
last year? Trying to remember what you learned last year may not help, because
studies from the University of California show that students in grades 2nd through
9th can lose from 25 30% of what they learned the previous year. Although there are
academic benefits to a year round schedule schools should continue to operate on a
10 month 36 week schedule because it is traditional.
During a year round schedule there is a shorter summer break than at a regular school.
The summer break is usually 4 weeks long and the rest of the days are spread out in
the year. Some student say that a year round schedule is better because you get more
breaks
The Characters Of Hawkeye And Uncas In The Last Of
The...
This paper will be highlighting the characters of Hawkeye and Uncas from The Last
of the Mohicans, by James Fenimore Cooper. Showing how these two characters
were changed by the war they became a part of. Some of the growth in these men
might be subtle, but there are definite changes you see by the end of the story. In the
beginning of the novel, Uncas is extremely reticent, and prefers to let his actions
speak for themselves. However, he has a strong moral compass and does not often
stray from the path that will help his companions, no matter the circumstances.
Being one of the last two Mohican Chiefs, he fights with valor against the Mingos
and French, and is strongly devoted to his father, Chingachgook and his companion
Hawkeye. Uncas is an expert at hunting and tracking, and these skills come in very
handy when his love interest, Cora, and her sister Alice are taken captive by
Magua, a rival Indian who wants revenge. Uncas being enamored with Cora is one
of the romantic aspects in the novel, and one that, at the time, was quite
controversial. Being that interracial marriages were not common, and in some
places was not allowed. Uncas role in early stages of their adventure was to see to
Cora and Alice. He attended their needs without complaint, and this shows the
compassionate side that until this point, was not seen in him. By the end of the
novel, Uncas had a major shift in how he was perceived and how he viewed himself.

Being that forensic science focuses on the retrieval of evidence for the court of law, and that in that court of law people are often judged by a jury of their peers, it is natural that the effects of their day to day world often come into play with their courtroom experience. The CSI effect is by all accounts a continuously developing issue for the present and future jurors of the American justice system. As difficult as it might be to believe, there are many individuals out there that have difficulties dissevering the reality and capability of chemistry, physics, and human beings, from what they believe and hold to be true in the media. As jurors, these are potentially the jurors that will begin asking for more proof, or for what valid reason they have not seen certain evidence items that don t even exist in that particular case. Sometimes however, when another group listens to one society s music they also make connections to lyrics, sounds, and melodies that were put into the song. This is very much the case with Reggae music as not only did it take off in Jamaica, its country of origin, but the United States and parts of Europe as well. • 7. Praise Of Bill Peters, Coach Of The Carolina Hurricanes In Praise of Bill Peters Now firmly into his third season as a head coach in the NHL, Bill Peters, coach of the Carolina Hurricanes, has a lot of work in front of him to get this team into post season contention. Through his first two years with the organization, Peters is still yet to participate in the playoffs. In fact, it has been seven years since Carolina last saw the playoffs. Peters current lack of post season success shouldn t be an immediate point for concern, as he came into the team during a major recession in terms of team talent. Most notably offensive stars Alexander Semin and Eric Staal both had major drops in terms of point production during Peters first two seasons, both see their way out of Carolina. It appears though for this season the pieces are beginning to fall into place for Peters vision of this team. Their level of play over the past few games has been as high as it has ever been in recent years, as the team as a whole is able to play effectively in all ends. This quick turnover time shouldn t come as a shock to anyone given Bill Peters outstanding performances behind the bench for other teams. Spokane Chiefs Bill Peters first major coaching job came in Major Junior as an assistant coach for the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL. The Three Hills native would serve there as an assistant under then head coach, and current Toronto head coach Mike Babcockfrom 1996 2000, helping Spokane reach a 100 point season and playoff final appearance in Babcock

Fashion insiders also have another mental map the map of seasons and shows. When consumers shop for winter coats or summer swimsuits, fashion insiders are seasons ahead in their thinking. Forecasters use these mental maps to organize their observations of directional information. Since innovations rarely apply to the entire marketplace, information must be tagged for the appropriate price point, category and classification. In this way, forecasters turn random bits of data into useful information for decision support, points and style directions. The drivers of fashion change Social and cultural changes are major determinants of emerging fashions. However, they are themselves affected by the other drivers of change that include globalization of world markets and accessibility of more sophisticated communications technologies. • 11. Comparing Life Of Pi And The Tyger By William Blake Life of Pi by Yann Martel, and The Tyger by William Blake can be seen as comparable from numerous viewpoints. Though one is a novel and the other is a short poem, the two pieces of writing can be thoroughly analyzed on their perspectives and themes to highlight important aspects in each. The stories contain a similar animal theme and both question God, yet they differ in their views on God. A similar aspect in the two stories is the animal theme. When Pi is trapped on a lifeboat, his only company is a Bengal Tiger. It was in this circumstance that Pi understood the animal need for survival. Pi says of his transformation from a strict vegetarian into someone who expected to kill to survive, that, I descended to a level of savagery I never imagined possible. (218). Everyday, Pi felt like he was at a crucial point in his life, since he didn t know whether he would live to see tomorrow, especially with Richard Parker on the lifeboat. This is when Pi s animal instincts kicked in and mirrored that of the tiger s. The animal inside of him, and his survival instincts ended up plainly evident in his battle for survival. In the poem The Tyger, the animal theme is exhibited through the narrator s relentless questions of the tiger. In the poem it says, What immortal hand or eye, Dare frame thy fearful symmetry? (23 24). This happens to be the narrator s way of asking who would dare to create an animal so vicious and dangerous. Throughout the poem, the speaker asks various questions about the ferocity of the creature. Be that as it may, this is the nature of a tiger. They are wild animals that are dangerous, and act on instinct. In the two stories, the animal theme depicted conflicts with civilization. Pi was forced to abandon his knowledge and behaviour from the civilized life he once led, in order to embrace his animal instincts and survive. In The Tyger , we can see the contempt of the speaker while considering the behaviours of the wild animal. By looking at this similar element from the two stories, it is easier to perceive how the two cases may be seen. Pi could be looked upon like the tiger, in that they were similar in their animal ways. Many individuals would not have the strength to do what Pi

Military: The colonists could use the upcoming conflict to demonstrate the strength of the colonial army, and that they have a real chance of winning this war. Furthermore, Both Bunker and Breed s Hill as well as Dorchester Heights are strategic positions, crucial to the defense of Boston. 3. • 16. Persuasive Essay On Same Sex Adoption Adoption saves many children s lives and gives them new opportunities to create a life they may desire. Adoption keeps children out of homeless shelters and prevents them from living on the streets. Even though adoption provides many positives for children, many adoption agencies, state governments, and birth parents do not agree with same sex couples adopting children. There has been discrimination against same sex couples adopting a child for decades. More than one hundred thousand children are waiting to be adopted in the United States. Many children wait for a permanent home with loving parents, and same sex couples should be granted the same rights as heterosexual couples when it comes to providing children with a loving and happy home. After the nineteenth century adoptionbecame less secretive, and modern adoption laws were created to keep children safe, but there remains a stigma against LGBT+ parents adopting children. Adoption is when an adult becomes the legal guardian of another person s child, and adopting a child gives a person the chance at becoming a mother or father (Barr p.10). There are several types of ways to adopt a child. Potential parents can decide to adopt a child through an attorney, facilitator, state agency, or private agency (p. Barr 29 33). Most agencies require prospective parents to disclose their sexual preference when filling out adoption papers to either eliminate the couple from their agency, or allow birth mothers to eliminate the

When I first decided to become an educator, I had it in my mind that reading was the backbone of the classroom. However, after this semester, I have learned writing is every bit as important as reading. Classroom teachers as well as writing researchers have discovered that even young children communicate through writing, and that hey begin writing as they re learning to read or even before they can read. I firmly believe time is of most importance when it comes to good writing. It s crucial that appropriate time is carved out of every day for writing. It would soon turn him from hobbit to hero. This journey has turned him into a hero. The three instances where he was face to face with being a hero was once when he was in the cave with Gollum, another when he fought the giant spider, and lastly when he faced mass starvation and hunger. Bilbo ran into many problems on the way ,but quickly got through them. My personal favorite was when he was in the cave with Gollum. He used his fast smart thinking to save himself from certain death. He was in the middle of the game that was life or death. He had the quick thinking of asking what is in my pocket so he could not guess so there fore Bilbo won. This proves he has heroic skills now because if he was cowering Bilbo than he would not have even tried to beat Gollum and most likely would have ended his life. There is pro Allied forces propaganda to support the war, from the scene with La Marseillaise, to the characters of Renault and Rick, and to the last scene. Although the majority of the French patriots were elated to sing their national anthem, it created tension with the German soldiers who imposed their patriotic songs on the crowd, representing the imposition of Germany on Franceduring the war. I was also taught that humans have the freedom to make their own choices about their lives and that is what determines whether one will ascend to Heaven or descend into Hell. Whether someone choses to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior is what will determine your life after death. I accepted this as truth for a very long time, as I had no exposure to different views. I would argue with my LDS peers on the meaning of Heaven and Hell and their nonbelief, and I would trust everything I was taught without much question. In college, things changed. I still believe in God, but differently. I have struggled with my own beliefs for a while now, because everything I have known is being, or has been challenged by discussions in my classes. I cannot imagine a life without my relationship with God, but I also have a lot of questions, that my mother would balk at. In this paper I aim to answer these questions, after critically explaining and analyzing Augustine s views on free will. The main focus of the paper will be my own beliefs and my own conclusions, and thoughts on how humans can be both predetermined and have free will. I aim to show my understanding on Augustine and also provide a clear and concise explanation of how and why I believe the way I do.
