In this paper, I intend to describe the inner working of the household in Greek
civilization on three levels: family, city, and cosmos of gods. To achieve this goal,
we will look into Bacchae by Euripides, and Oresteia by Aeschylus. Bacchae shows
the workings of the house of Cadmus, a royal family, whose actions directly affect
their city. This family tree includes a god, and is strongly affected by the will of the
cosmos, through Dionysus. Oresteia is a play of three parts. We see the families
dysfunctional interactions, and how they impact the city over time. We also see
how the gods have an influence on these characters lives throughout the events that
happen. Overall these interactions lead to the undermining of Greek civilization
through death and destruction. Bacchae is a good example of the three levels of
the household. Starting with the level of family we see the flawed family dynamic
in the house of Cadmus. Cadmus has four daughters. Semele is the mother of
Dionysus, and Agave is the mother of Pentheus. Semele claimed the father of her
child was Zeus, but the rest of her family did not believe her tales, calling her a liar.
No one in the family, or city for that matter, believed Dionysus status was true,

In short fiction is important to have a complex protagonist character. Characters
exist largely for the purpose of moving the story along from one plot point to the
next. The reader experiences the story through the eyes of the protagonist. A good
development of the main character makes a good story. Based on Edgar Allan Poes
quantifications as what constitutes a short fictionstory protagonist, Sergeant Price, in
Phil Klay s work, Redeployment is an excellent example of a short fiction protagonist
because he embodies the protagonist traits of being distrustful of the government, is
an outsider, and is a reluctant hero.
The first reason Sergeant Price is a good example of short fiction protagonist is
because he is distrustful of the government or at least is distrustful of those who
are giving orders for he and the other troops to perform. The true evidence of

An example of information bias is believing that the more information that can be

for the decision. I find myself always trying to collect the most information
possible and a majority of the time it is irrelevant to the final decision. One specific
example of me using information bias, is when I was trying to decide which cough
medication I should purchase. I read all the bottles and googled which product other

shock to both Americans and the rest of the world. This near impossible win sparked

Independence and in order to convince France that a government was in the making, a
constitution was appointed by the Second Continental Congress to be written by a

govern the budding nation, the Articles had many flaws that needed new finishing.

and political background that brought the film together, which made it unique to

In this story there is lots of human condition, from guilt to anxiety. Both of these
things pertain to human condition. In the story, The Kite Runner, the main
character experiences guilt. When he is talking to his servant, he says, and that s
the thing about people who mean everything they say. They think you do too.
(Hosseini 154) When the main character says this, the guilt that he feels, can be
felt by the reader too. He doesn t have to say I feel guilty because... The guilt can
be felt in the text. As said before, not only is there guilt but there is also anxiety
within the story. Just like in My Left foot, you can also feel the anxiety in the story
The Kite Runner. At the beginning of the story Ashad begins talking about winter
and how there is a break from school. He also talks about how he feels before the
kite race. Ashad says, I felt like a soldier trying to sleep in trenches the night before a
major battle. (Hosseini 151) Just like any other child, the night before something fun
or exciting happens, there is anxiety. You have this feeling in the pit of your stomach,
the feeling of anticipating what s going to happen. During that part of the story, it was
more about being nervous and about doing something fun, but later in the story you
see it become more intense anxiety. Close to end of the story the two boys are joking
around, and then Ashad says something about making his servant eat dirt. At this
moment Ashad gets anxious,
