Liver Injury Research Paper
Liver plays a central role in transforming and clearing chemicals and is consequently susceptible to
the toxicity induced from these agents. Chemicals that cause liver injury are termed hepatotoxins, and
more than 900 drugs have been implicated in causing liver injury and it is the most common reason
for a drug to be withdrawn from the market. Chemicals often cause subclinical injury to liver which
may be manifest by abnormal liver enzyme tests. Certain medicinal agents when taken in overdoses
and sometimes even when introduced within therapeutic ranges may injure the organ. Other chemical
agents such as those used in laboratories and industries, natural chemicals (e.g. microcystins) and
herbal remedies can also induce hepatotoxicity (e.g. Lycopodiumserratum and Ephedra equisetina). ...

Approximately 75% of blood reaching the liver arrives directly from gastrointestinal organs and then
spleen through portal veins which bring drugs and xenobiotics in concentrated form. Numerous
mechanisms may be cited to be responsible for either inducing hepatic injury or worsening the damage
process. Although the exact mechanism of hepatic injury remains largely unknown, it appears to
involve 2 pathways direct hepatotoxicity and adverse immune reactions. In most instances, hepatic
injury is initiated by the bioactivation of drugs to chemically reactive metabolites, which have the
ability to interact with cellular macromolecules such as proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids, leading to
protein dysfunction, lipid peroxidation, DNA damage, and oxidative

Analysis Of As Good As It Gets
The film As Good As It Gets, reflects on the psychopathologies of three main characters. Marvin
Udall is an obsessive compulsive writer who maintains poor boundaries with those who encounter
him. Simon Bishop is a homosexual artist who struggles with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
about his estranged relationship with his parents and following an attack in his home. Carol Connelly
is a waitress who suffers from anxiety, due to her son having an extreme case of asthma causing him
to have constant medical attention. These random characters lives intersect in such a way, that in the
end they become their greatest support network. Marvin Udall displays typical behaviors that many
functioning obsessive compulsives have in common. Mr. Udall has obsessions which are, persistent
thoughts, urges that are experienced as intrusive and unwanted, whereas compulsions are repetitive
behaviors or mental acts that an individual feels driven to perform in response to an obsession
(American Psychiatric Association., 2013). Very early in the film we see Mr. Udall struggles with
contamination related obsessions and participates in ritualistic activities which serve to lessen his
obsessional anxiety. We see him engage in hand washing rituals with extremely hot water and several
bars of soap which is only intrusive to him, to later in the film where he must take a shower before
dinner and has the character Carol waiting on him for what seemed like hours. Mr. Udall has a ritual to
eat at a certain restaurant everyday for breakfast, where he also must bring his own plastic silverware
for fear of germs.
Mr. Udall shows his compulsive traits by feeling the need to lock his apartment door three times, turns
the lights on and off five times and cannot step on cracks or lines in the flooring or street. These
repetitive behaviors are normally not intrusive to others, but Mr. Udall does involve others in his
compulsion when he is trying not to step on the cracks in the sidewalk. We do not know the exact
rationale behind his compulsions, but many people fear that something bad will happen if they do not
engage in their compulsion.
What is interesting about Mr. Udall is how he did not perceive his quality of life to be

Mao Zedong Thesis
As a result of the Chinese Civil War, the cultural identity of China was left in the hands of Mao
Zedong. During the 19th century, China had veered away from it s dynastic rule and became
imperialized by countries such as England, Germany, France and Japan. They broke China up
economic gain. As said in a text book written by Ethel Wood, This era left many Chinese resentful of
the foreign devils who they eventually rebelled against (AP CGP) In contrast, when Chairman Mao
came to power, China changed completly. Mao Zedong s belief was heavily motivated by Vladimir
Lenin and Marxism. Rooted in the idea of community and the strength of the peasants, He believed
that he could make China a powerful nation and steer his citizens away from Western

Quotes About Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan (Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer, songwriter, musician,
painter, and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades.
Dylan s lyrics join a range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences . The quote above
in meaning is that just by having democracy and giving the people the rights doesn t solve any issues.
People still do bad things while having democracy and they blame it on the government. There were
many people who supported the killing of the people in France because they had thought that it could
solve problems that were going on at that time and some who disagreed because violence doesn t
solve anything at all and that they took it too ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cordy s plan worked but it also failed because that did not stop the violence in the French revolution.
Corday also blamed Marat for the civil war she thought would happen in France. She believed that
Marat was bad for the future of France and that his death would stop the violence in France. She also
believed that Louis XVI should not have been executed
However, Maximilien would disagree with this quote because he believed that only democracy would
fix the government and the country. Maximilien Robespierre is one of the best known leaders of the
French Revolution. He was born in Arras, France and he went to school to become a lawyer and got
his degree at law school. He also, got elected to the Estates General to help make laws for France and
fought against the French Monarchy, the death penalty, slavery, for democratic reforms and the people
to have more power. He helped gain a reputation for defending the poor society. he was elected
president of the powerful Jacobin political faction. At first, he was against the killing of the people
because he thought it wasn t right but as the Revolution grew more and more, he started to believe that
it was out of hand to the point where nothing could be solved.
Robespierre states in his speech Virtue and Terror that If the strength of popular government in
peacetime is virtue, the strength of popular government in revolution is both virtue and terror; terror
without virtue is disastrous, virtue without terror is

Benito Mussolini Research Paper
INTRODUCTION
During the Second World War, Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini was the leader of the Italian
Nationalist Fascist government. He was head of the Italian government from 1922 till 1943. The
significance of Mussolini is that he played a key role acting as the Italian Prime Minister and
established a totalitarian regime, during this time, as the unchallenged supreme leader, known as Il
Duce . Fascism consisted of many contributors of which Mussolini with all his quirks was the key to
most of its failures and successes, making him the most significant player that is worthy of being

killed Italian soldiers. The victims of these reprisals were the civilians and villagers as they were
assumed to be the bandits . Compared to Yugoslavia, the killing in Greece remained minor and under
control, which was partially due to the lack of local fascists that could punish them. Yet there was
much retaliation, such as the blowing up of a tunnel that killed 600 Italian soldiers in return for the
massacre of 106 hostages. In another reprisal, 15 men were taken hostage and executed after the

In today s world there are problems everywhere from political, environmental, economic, problems
with others and internal problems as well. Taoism s important, deep meanings can help in the modern
world s problems. Sadly, less than 1% of people in the world follow the teachings of Taoism. Should
humans worldwide learn and study Taoism to improve themselves, which then can be used to improve
the world? Taoism encompasses the thoughts and practices that are viewed to be philosophical or
religious. The category it lies in is not what is at interest but instead should be focused on
understanding how to live life morally. Taoism needs to be reclassified to be a moral compass because

A Career as a Hotel Manager
General Manager Being a Hotel General Manager would be my ideal job in the Lodging Industry. To
get the that point of being a General Manager would take years of working in the hotel industry as
well as having the proper education to preform the job. My plan of action would be to start out as a
check in agent or a front desk associate at a hotel. This would give me experience in working with
guests and with numbers, knowledge every General Manager needs. Working at the front desk initially
would give me a good idea what each department in the hotel does, and perhaps I would move on to
another job in the hotel just to gain more experience. A good General Manager needs to know how
everything in the hotel functions.
Job Description
A hotel manager is responsible for the day to day management of a hotel and its staff. They have
commercial accountability for budgeting and financial management, planning, organizing and
directing all hotel services, including front of house (reception, concierge, reservations), food and
beverage operations, and housekeeping (ACGAS, 2012).
Typical Work Day Work activities can vary on the size and accommodations available at the hotel. In
bigger hotels there will be many departments, all with a department manager. In the mornings most
General Managers and department managers will have a meeting so everyone is on the same page for
the day. This can include as many of the departments as the General Manager sees fit. In small hotels

Mayan Hammock Research Paper
Taking a hammock along with you on your next camping trip might be the best piece of camping gear
you pack along. Part of why we go camping is to enjoy nature, relax and re energize. The first time I
lay back in a hammock gazing up at the trees I thought I might just be in heaven. They are so relaxing,
your body molds into its shape and the kids love them too. There are several types of hammocks

a book into the hammock with me or cuddling up with one of my children. It gives us even better

Informative Essay On Sphynx Cats
If you ve ever looked at cat videos online, chances are you have seen ones with cats that have no hair.
They may bear a resemblance to aliens, but they are real cats, referred to as the Sphynx. Though some
people are put off by the appearance of this breed, others are intrigued and find them endearing. If you
are part of the second group, you might be interested in owning a Sphynx cat for yourself and what is
involved in buying and owning one. The truth is that there is no universal yes or no answer for
whether the Sphynx is the appropriate cat to own, as it largely depends on the owner s specific needs
and abilities. To know if the Sphynx is the right cat for you, many aspects must be looked into.
The first thing anyone notices about Sphynx ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast to the introverted personalities of other cats, Sphynxes crave attention, and tend to be
friendlier around strangers. They are often compared to dogs for this reason. If you have a Sphynx,
especially a young one, expect it to be very hyperactive, running and jumping all over the place. This
is a high energy cat which can perform acrobatic tricks, much like a monkey. (PetMD) These cats have
boundless energy, so much time should be allotted to playing with them so they do not become bored
and stressed. They are also very curious and exploratory, making sure to inspect just about anything
they can find. Safety measures should be taken for items that your cat could easily open or ingest.
Sphynx cats are generally more affectionate with their owners, and can be very emotionally dependent
on them too. Sphynx cats can get stressed easily, and are prone to separation anxiety. PetHelpful
states, If you are leaving the house for long periods of time, your Sphynx s heart is going to break.
Unless you have a companion for it, it is going to become depressed. (PetHelpful) It is not
recommended to spend a long time away from your Sphynx, even if you hire a petsitter to feed it, as it
craves the physical affection of its owners. The upside to dealing with this potential issue is that you
would end up with a very loyal cat, who will provide much love and affection, that for many people it
is worth all the trouble

Reasons For Police Brutality
As recent incidents of police brutality plague our nation toward minority groups, especially that of
African Americans, the question asked by many is if such deadly force necessary, and what other
actions could have led to a better outcome? Although our primary thought is to blame police officers
for death, we must realize that sometimes deadly action is necessary and anyone put in a similar
situation would act the same way. According to the U.S Supreme Court in the 1985 case, Tennessee vs
Garner, police force can only be used when, [the] suspect is a significant threat to officer or others.
Later, in the case of Graham vs. Connor, the Supreme Court ruled that officers who use force must be
judged on the totality of circumstances and a standard of objective reasonableness. Force must be
judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer on the scene, rather than with the 20/20 vision of
hindsight; however, this does not excuse police brutality, and officers must face penalties for taking
someone s life. Cases such as, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, and Tamir Rice illustrate when police
need to be punished for their actions and be held accountable for violence against citizens. Although
clearly outlined for what would be a just reason for necessary force, many cases that involved police
brutality can be blamed on tactics that relate to broken windows and a need for different policies and
methods. To begin with, many incidents to police brutality occur because of lack of

Bush s Argument Against Gay Adoption
Being a parent is tough. I know because I ve seen how tough it is for my sister, a single mom of two. I
also know how much trouble I bring my mom and dad. To be a legal parent is to be able to make

financially. It s not the matter of what sex you are that tells if you are fit to be parent material.
Everyone has the right to be a parent. If two teens in high school can have a baby at a young age, then

The Difference between Terrorism and Domestic Terrorism Essay
The terms terrorism and domestic terrorism are very similar concepts. There are, however, slight
differences in each. Entities that are apart of the Government have slightly different ways of
explaining what they believe to be the correct definition of terrorism and domestic terrorism. In this
paper the author will offer definitions of the two terms and state which one they agree with the most.
The author will also state how the two terms are best differentiated.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defines terrorism on the basis of three characteristics. In
order for an act to be considered terrorism, it needs to be (1) a violent act, or acts dangerous to human
life that violates laws; (2) appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or ... Show more content on

They elucidate that terrorism is a premeditated, politically motivated, violence perpetrated against
noncombatant targets by subnational groups of clandestine agents, usually intended to influence an
audience, (National Institute of Justice).
All of the definitions that the author has presented tend to share a common theme. In each of the
previous definitions, the use of force that is intended to coerce or sway a course of action that furthers
a social, or political goal. In most cases, the FBI definition is the one most widely used and accepted
by law enforcement entities (National Institute of Justice). The author seconds that the FBI definition
is the one that she agrees with the most. The FBI definition seems like the only one that doesn t leave
anything out. It is the most descriptive, and unlike the American Heritage definition, it broadens the
scope of terrorists from being a certain type of group to the possibility of it being just one man or
woman.
The FBI also gives a definition of domestic terrorism that is very similar to its definition of terrorism,
but has a minor difference. Like terrorism, there are three characteristics that need to be met in order
to define an act as domestic terrorism. The first characteristic is that it needs to involve acts that are
dangerous to human life that violate federal or state laws. The second characteristic is it needs to
appear intended to (i) intimidate or coerce civilian population; (ii) influence policies of a

The Pros And Cons Of Cyber Crime
Cyber crime is criminal activity done using computers and the Internet. This ranges from downloading
illegal music files to offenses, such as creating and distributing viruses on other computers or posting
private business information on the Internet.
Perhaps the most outstanding form of cyber crime is identity theft, in which wrongdoers use the web
to steal personal information from other users. One of the most frequent ways this is done is through
phishing. This method entices people to fake websites (that appear to be legitimate), where they are
asked to enter information about themselves. This includes inputting information, such as usernames
and passwords, mobile numbers, addresses, credit card numbers, and other information criminals can
use to gain another person s identity. Many people in developing countries are getting attracted
towards because of high unemployment and low wages . (Kshetri, 2010)
Another way this is done is through the use of viruses, There is a number of ways that you can get a
virus on your computer while on the other side someone is able to access all the data in your machine.
One of the most common way on how this is done is when an attachment is sent to you on email or

Cyber Security, Antivirus Programs, Preventing Cyberattacks
Abstract
Data compromised by hackers, network outages, computer viruses and other factors affect our lives in
ways that ranges of inconvenient to life threatening. As the number of mobile users, digital
applications and data networks increase, so do the opportunities for exploitation. Through the course
of this paper we will be covering: what is cyber security, antivirus programs, preventing cyberattacks,
and how to strengthen passwords.
.What Is Cyber Security
Cybersecurity is the body of technologies, processes and practices designed to protect networks,
computers, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access. In a computing context,
the term security implies cybersecurity.
Governments, military, corporations, financial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most problematic elements of cybersecurity is the quickly and constantly evolving nature
of security risks. The traditional approach has been to focus most resources on the most crucial system
components and protect against the biggest known threats, which necessitated leaving some less
important system components undefended and some less dangerous risks not protected against (Rouse,
2010). Such an approach is insufficient in the current environment. Adam Vincent, CTO public sector
at Layer 7 Technologies (a security services provider to federal agencies including Defense
Department organizations), describes the problem:
The threat is advancing quicker than we can keep up with it. The threat changes faster than our idea of
the risk. It s no longer possible to write a large white paper about the risk to a particular system. You
would be rewriting the white paper constantly... (Rouse, 2010)
(Vincent, 2010)
To deal with the current environment, advisory organizations are promoting a more proactive and
adaptive approach. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), for example, recently
issued updated guidelines in its risk assessment framework that recommended a shift toward
continuous monitoring and real time assessments. According to a December 2010 analysis of U.S.
spending plans, the federal government has allotted over $13 billion annually to cybersecurity

Essay on Christian Metaphors and Movies About War
Religion in Pop Culture
Final Essay
Platoon, directed by Oliver Stone, and Saving Private Ryan, directed by Steven Spielberg, are two
movies flush with Christian Symbolism. Both films feature scripture, Platoon opens with it, and in
Saving Private Ryan, there is a character that often quotes scripture. While there are some similarities
between the two movies, like having a Christ Figure, and a conflict between good and evil, there are
metaphors that make the films different from one another. Platoon features more complex metaphors,

the Holocaust) for seemingly no other reason but to control the world. The Allied Forces become the
good, because they begin to liberate other countries, and people from Axis control. The power struggle
between the good forces and the evil forces becomes the backdrop for Captain Miller s Mission. The
General, who gives Miller his orders, could represent God, being as he is his world is considered law.
By extension, Millers mission represents God s will. Captain Miller eventually becomes the Christ
figure in the movie, leading the mission to its conclusion (Madvig). Millers mission is to save the lost
Private Ryan. Miller and his men must return the lost Ryan to his home . Ryan can be a symbol that
represents anyone who could be struggling with faith, or anyone who could be struggling against evil,
thus being lost. Home symbolizes different things, but in Christianity, returning home can mean going
to Heaven to live alongside Jesus, or finding faith, or finding Jesus. Ryan is lost in the middle of war
torn France, in the middle of the giant conflict between good and evil. As the movie progresses we see
other religious situations, and religious characters. Private Jackson (Barry Pepper) is the team s sniper,
and a good example. Jackson is as a Christian who wears a cross around his neck, and recites scripture
before he takes down a target. He is seen in the film reciting Psalm 144, and Psalm 25. There is a

patient can remain mobile. It is important that the patient has ways to move around without fear of
falling. It is also imperative that the patient knows how to move safely and use mobility devices. The
nurse needs to understand how these two topics go together to ensure that the patient will remained
unharmed at the hospital and in the home. As stated earlier, safety is so important to make sure that
patient keeps their mobility. The surroundings need to be safe to prevent falls. When falls are
prevented, the patient remains mobile. One safety precautions to ensure that falls do not happen is to
have a clear area for the patient to be able to walk around. This means not having objects in their
pathway or rugs in their walkway. Having these objects in the way can cause the patient to have a fall.

There might be certain movements that can affect mobility in the future or could re injure they
surgical site. For example, after a hip replacement surgery patients are given and abduction pillow.
According to Hip Rehab After Surgery , the pillow is used to prevent the patient from dislocating their
new hip. After the surgery for safety reasons their mobility must be restricted while it heals. When
they do the surgery, they cut through muscles and those have to grow back. This will prevent further
injury and the patient will be able to get back their normal mobility after it is healed. Although there
are certain actions that post operation patients cannot do they still need to be mobile. The patient is
moved as soon as the patient is able to handle it. Getting the patient up will prevent blood clots in their
legs and promote blood circulation. Proper blood flow to the legs will mean that they can remain
mobile and stay

Art Speigelman Use Symbolism In The Holocaust
Art Speigelman wrote a book called Maus, that explains his father s experience in the holocaust. His
father Vladek Speigelman survived the holocaust. Speigelman Interviews his father everyday to write
his comic book and use symbolism. How does Art Speigelman use symbolism in Maus? The holocaust
was a tragic time for Jews.Germans tortured Jews because they were different and had a different
religion. The holocaust lasted through January 30, 1933 May 8, 1945. Six million Jews were killed in
the Holocaust.Jews were starved and suffered. The word Holocaust came from a greek word meaning
Sacrifice by fire . Art Speigelman wrote the book Maus to explain the events from the holocaust. Art
Speigelman and Vladek Speigelman, his father , had an unusual relationship. In the book Maus Vladek
tries to erase his memories of the holocaust, but Art tries to bring them back so he can write his book
and educate others. Art s father Vladek is unusual .Vladek has been kind ve weird, keeping
everything.Art Speigelman tries to understand his father s ways. The reason why there are stories
about this historical event is because it wouldn t repeat itself and to educate others.Vladek doesn t like
spending money or wasting things; this may be because of the holocaust.
When the Holocaust were beginning , there were a war fixing to start. Germans told the Jews that the
camps were because of the war and they believed it. Later on, Germans were beginning to destroy the
businesses of Jews and putting there flags in towns, that s when the Jews realized what was going on
and it were too late to stop it. Don t you know? All Jewish businesses have been taken over by Aryan
Managers (Speigelman, 76).
If you lock them together in a room with no food for a week then you could see what it is, friends.
(Speigelman, 6). That quote meant as if Jews were starved and wouldn t think about who you were
and are and struggle for survival not caring. Please if you want to stay alive go back inside

Abortion and Disability
With reference to abortion, examine and comment upon the issues that emerge from keeping up with
developments in medical ethics, whilst maintaining religious principles and/or ethical values. (Total
for Question 1 = 50 marks)
There are several issues that arise when it comes to the development in medical ethics whilst also
maintaining religious principles and ethical values. The development of medical knowledge has
allowed for humans to practice different ways in helping society. But these new discoveries have
found to clash with religious principles and ethical values. This can be related to the topic of abortion
as it goes against monotheistic religious teachings.

Living in a world set up and built for able bodied people, it s difficult for a disabled person to be
brought up and adapt to carry out even the most simplest of everyday tasks. Aborting a disabled foetus
may not intentionally be biologically discriminating, but instead, weighing up the consequences of
continuing with the pregnancy until the stage of giving birth, taking into account what life will be like
for the foetus in the future.
To conclude, I believe that abortion should only be considered concerning the best interest of the
foetus because that is what is seen to be ethically right (by ending the possibility of suffering and low
quality of life that the foetus may have to endure if it was to be born). Situation Ethics, devised by
Joseph Fletcher could be a religious stance as to why the allowance of abortion for disabled foetuses
may be in accordance to religious principles also. For example, dependent on the severity of a
disability of a foetus, it might be reasonable to suggest aborting a foetus because it would be the most
loving thing to do. Agape love, the kind of love Jesus had for everyone in which this theory teaches us

Environmental Education And The Urban Challenges
The topic I propose to develop my research in is environmental education and the urban challenges it
faces. The urgency of the current state of the environmental agenda makes it necessary to promote
environmental awareness in all generations as indispensable for a sustainable future. Despite this,
environmental education is still absent in most school programs and struggles to compete with formal
education when in fact they should be one and the same. Efforts to change this have been recorded and
so I propose to review literature on the topic. First, the literature research will approach definition of
environmental education as well as education for sustainable development and definition and
understanding of urban environmental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is the current situation and context surrounding that topic? You should overview the general
subject area (and, where possible, the theoretical foundation as reported in published work) and
identify, in relation to the relevant reading you will have covered, a general problem that you can
tackle in your research.]
Sustainable development interconnects with the economic growth, nature conservation and the
concept of equality for all. Environmental education is a complex and dynamic field, and so, a
difficult one to assess. But given the urgency of the topic, its evaluation and better understanding may
provide us with the tools necessary to pursue sustainability. My primary motivation for the research
resides in the importance of sustainability as a vital practice for the future. The best way to do this is
through the spreading of knowledge and improvement of education and learning and find what can be
done to enhance it.
I find that it is necessary to understand the history and implementation of environmental education.
The use of the term environmental education itself is not considered relevant, especially due to the fact
that there is little agreement on it. Different authors have different opinions, such as Disinger (1993),
Wheeler (1985) and Sterling (1992). It is considered important, however, the actors in the history of
events that sought out for the need for an education for sustainable development.

and art are known to be modern, and found in most city boutique hotels. Technology is an huge factor,
whether it is technology that enhances the ambience and makes emotional contact between the guests
and the hard attributes of the building (such as lighting and music), or technology that is provided for
the convenience of hotel guests (such as in room DVD players, flat screen television sets, cordless

boutique hotels is an important part in creating a lively, chic and trendy mind set. However, in the

Many speculate that this is the reason Trump was elected president. Following his election, President
Trump organized a bill to repeal components of Obamacare. The Freedom Caucus, a group of about
three dozen conservatives in Congress, vowed to vote no. Why? The bill did not go far enough to
repeal the Affordable Care Act (Collins 1). Without the votes of the Freedom Caucus, the bill had no
chance of passing and so it was pulled from consideration. The Freedom Caucus, along with countless
Americans, wants more to be done. It is obvious that the Affordable Care Act needs more than just a
bit of reform.
Why is it so important that the Affordable Care Act be repealed? One reason is that Obamacare has
become far too expensive. New health care spending due to Obamacare adds up to an astounding $1.8
trillion (Senger 1). To help pay for this, Obamacare will cut some aid to Medicare, which is health
insurance aided by tax dollars for those sixty five and older (Auerbach 2). The cuts from Medicare
will be in excess of $700 billion from 2013 to 2022 (Senger 1 2). Unfortunately, this will heavily
affect health care for seniors, because the money from the cuts will not be going to Medicare, but will
go towards paying for Obamacare as a whole. Additionally, the federal government will take in an
amount exceeding $770 billion between 2013 and 2022 because of Obamacare s eighteen various tax
increases (2). It is absolutely absurd

The word authority originated from the Latin verb augere which means to increase or promote. From
the perspective of an everyday usage it has broad meanings and associations such as power to enforce

or group of people who exercise that power. Moreover, authority is associated with social force and is
linked to ideas of power through knowledge thus, we ought to respect it. Furthermore, authority
depends on collective consent and they are the ones who give approval to authorities in order for their

Achilles by comparing him to the war of god and how good he is in the battlefield. He goes further on
by glorifying the war and the protagonist and enhancing it by saying The bronze around him glittered
like a blazing fire or rising sun. Also, Homer is eloquent in the language and that is proven by how the
choice of his vocabulary, for example when he was narrating the fastness of Achilles when chasing
Hector Pelus son went after him, sure of his speed on foot. Just as a mountain falcon, the fastest

Entanglement and Quantum Mechanics
Entanglement is one of the most fundamental and yet unintuitive concepts in quantum mechanics.
Maximally entangled two qubit states, often called Bell states, where shown to violate classical (local)
correlation properties [33, 34] and are an essential building block for quantum communication and
distributed quantum computation. Unfortunately, such entangled states are also difficult to generate
and sustain as interaction with a noisy environment typically leads to rapid loss of their unique
quantum properties. In the context of QSC, such an entanglement has been generated exploring
various types of interactions such as direct qubit qubit interaction [35, 36], coupling to a common
cavity mode [37] or photon mediated interactions for qubits embedded in a waveguide [38].
In this context, remote entanglement of spatially separated quantum systems have important im
plications in addressing the scaling problem for quantum information processing. Indeed, as a solution
to this scaling issue, we propose here to follow a modular approach where the quantum information is
encoded, protected and locally manipulated in small units consisting of a few cavity modes or/and few
qubits and the communication between modules is ensured through quantum teleportation techniques.
Sharing of a pair of entangled subsystems between two modules is central for these teleportation pro
tocols. While the isolation of the modules simplifies the scaling by avoiding any undesired cross talk
between the

Imagery In Poetry
Imagery within Poetry Imagery is a vital element to poetry, not only does it portray a literal image, but
also helps amplify the emothions within the poem. In poems such as, The Widow s Lament in
Springtime, the strongest emotion conveyed seems to be acceptance with a bit of sadness. This will be
shown in four different examples that almost follow the path of grieving to acceptance and finally
release. In opening of the poem, the first line from the speaker is as follows, Sorrow is my own yard...
(Williams 1). This line immediately sets a tone of sadness over the poem. With sorrow being a strong
word for sadness, it almost prepares the reader to look at the poem from a darker standpoint rather
than if the opening word was happiness. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As seen, Thirtyfive years I lived with my husband (Williams 7 8). With the wording being in past
tense, it can only be assumed that the speaker s husband has passed and that the sorrow is actually
grief. The next couple of lines are described with more fiery and bright colors, in a way showing the
brightning of the speaker s attitude. As stated, The plumtree is white today with masses of flowers.
Masses of flowers load the cherry braches and color some bushes yellow and some red but the grief in
my heart is stronger than they for though they were my joy formerly, today I notice them and turned
away forgetting (Williams 9 19). These sentences are a great example of how imagery not only creates
the image but also emphasizes the emotion within the poem. As a reader it is easily seen that the
speaker is still having an internal battle between their depression and acceptance. As the speaker
begins seeing things more bright and lively their grief is overshadowing connecting anything with
positive thoughts, but what s different is the speaker has turned away in an attempt at letting go. Next,
the speaker introduces their son which in a way changes the mood of the poem with the innocence of
the child. As seen, Today my son told me that in the meadows, at the edge of the heavy woods in the
distance, he saw trees of white flowers. I feel that I would like to go there and fall into those flowers
and sink into the marsh near them (Williams 20 29). It is interesting how the son also notices the white
flowers that the speaker connected earlier with their sorrow. This is where the reader learns that the
tone of the poem was not that of sadness but one leading to acceptance in the

Angel Isolation
Isolation from the world and other people can sometimes be good for people. For those that choose to
step back and take a break from the world, isolation can be a time of growth and self discovery.
However, if a person is forced into isolation, like Gregor Samsa and the angel were, it has a
completely different effect. For the angel in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings and Gregor
Samsa in The Metamorphosis , their isolation was physical as well as mental. The angel in The Very
Old Man with Enormous Wings , was locked in a chicken coop for what seems to be several months,
constantly being picked at and gawked at by townspeople who had paid to see him. He was a large
man with enormous wings living in a tiny space with no meaningful human contact. Although the
reader is not able to delve into the mind of the angel and see his thoughts, it is easy to imagine how
someone would feel if they were in a strange place, locked in a small chicken coop, and looked upon
as a sideshow. In the Metamorphosis , Gregor Samsa was also locked in a small space for several
months. Although he was in a familiar place, after his transition to a bug, he was looked upon by his
family as a stranger. He became more and more isolated as the story went on both from his family and
his humanity. Although the angel and Gregor were both nonhuman and experienced several months of
isolations, they were very different. The angel was described as an old scruffy man with very large
wings. Gregor on the other hand was a human man that had completely turned into a bug. There were
no physical human characteristics to Gregor once he had turned into a large cockroach. The other
characters in the stories also treated the Gregor and the old man very differently. The people in The
Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , seemed to be a lot more fascinated by the angel than scared of
him. People wanted to see the angel and came from all over and even paid money to do so. In The
Metamorphosis , Gregor s family was terrified of him and kept him locked up in his room until he
died. Another major difference between the two characters was that in the end of The Very Old Man
with Enormous Wings , the angel was freed from the coop, gained his strength

Creating A Decent Job At Panera Bread Essay
Finding a decent job, especially in the recessionary atmosphere that followed the 2008 financial crisis,
can be a challenge. Companies moving overseas, managers cutting costs, and a shrinking job pool are
all factors that make it difficult for anyone, regardless of education or experience, to find a steady
income. Like many teenagers entering the workforce for the first time, I found my job prospects to be
quite limited. After applying to a number of local businesses, I was overjoyed to have finally gotten a

for the first time, as I started working, I began to notice a troubling trend happening at Panera Bread.
According to the company s website, Panera Bread was founded by Louis Kane and Ron Shaich in

eastern coast of the United States and internationally, eventually becoming a dominant player in the

cafes located around the St. Louis area. After a comprehensive re staging of Saint Louis Bread Co., the
company managed to increase average unit volumes by 75 percent and changed the concept s name to

Art and Nature in Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale Essay

In Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale , we see a jealous king convinced he is search of the truth. He will

search from one for truth to one for myths creations, false truths. In essence. Leontes runs into the
conflict of defining art versus nature, where art is the view of the world he constructs to prove his

a bizarre comparison a wife and her alleged infidelity to a planet in outer space that will destruct in the

real and what is a fabrication of imagination. Art, in The Winter s Tale is not merely expression but
creation over nature. As his paints a dramatically depressed view of reality, it becomes clear how his
perception of what is actually in nature has been heinously corrupted because of a search for truth
predicated on validating flippant worries. He carries on: To mingle friendship far is mingling bloods. I

such as social problem were committed by foreign workers. Spread of diseases, theft, cheating,
robbery and even killing are some the serious social problems created. In this paper, we would like to
examine foreign workers issues and challenges in the perspective of ethic and corporate social
responsibilities. 2.0 INTRODUCTION Why Malaysia need foreign workers to support the growth of

4.11 Deception or false promises made regarding terms and condition of employment Most foreign
workers are coming from ASEAN countries, Nepal and India. Very often, false promises were made
by agent and they are forced to sign another contract where the salary and benefit is totally decreased
upon arrival. The Chin Well Fastener Co Sdn Bhd case in year 2002 was clearly shown how the
migrant workers from India being cheated by the India Agent, the middleman and Malaysia employer.
In this case, 80 workers had pay Rupees 100,000 (about RM8, 000) to the foreign agent in India to
secure the employment in Malaysia. Basic salary of RM600 per month and with overtime total of
RM800 will be paid per month was being told. It was established in Court that the employer had
signed a contract of employment and three documents as required by the India High Commission
promising a basic salary of RM600 per month. When they arrived and worked in Malaysia, they were
paid only RM350 instead of RM600. In addition, a levy of RM152 was deducted from the salary
although it is not stated in the contract or any official documents. When these Indian foreign workers
protest against the action being taken, the employer cut off the water and electricity supply to the
hostel. Furthermore, the foreign workers are being forced to sign a new fresh contract for a

The Colonization Of New England
If you wanted to record the beginning of English colonist history in North America, you would have to
begin with the settlements of New England. The English colonists had to endure the ecological
challenges of New England, oppose to the conditions they were accustomed to in England. They also
had to coexist with the original inhabitants of the lands the Native American Indians for information
on techniques of agriculture for proper sustainability, and for trade pur poses. English colonists had to
obtain knowledge from Native Americans along with learning from trial and error to master the
ecological challenges they faced while establishing settlements within New England. Coping with
environmental challenges to facilitate survival on the day to day basis was the first hurdle the English
colonists had to overcome. The ultimate goal of the colonists was after mastering the terrain of New
England was to distinguish the natural commod ities of the region to obtain maximum production of
resources for profit to themselves and the mother country of Great Britain.
Before English colonists settled into the New England area the only human inhabitants that could ve
caused ecological change within the area where the Native American Indians. Eng lish colonists
perceive the Native Americans to be poor in living conditions and civil matters, but were rich with
abundance of resources which were the fruits of living in North America. The New England area in

Social Issues In The Walking Dead By Richard Kirkman
In the graphic novel, The Walking Dead by Richard Kirkman (writer), Tony Moore (art) and Cliff
Rathburn (gray tones) introduce us to see how it is to survive in the zombie apocalypse, where the
main story is not about the zombies themselves but the survivors. This is where a neighbor may turn
into a walker (slang of zombies, and infected) and probably they should consider murdering him or
her with an unsharpened object. This blunt object, the horrendous zombies, and the expressions of the
characters are well represented by Tony Moore through the art in this book. Kirkman shows us that
there are social issues between the survivors. Through his story, Kirkman tells us that in a post
apocalyptic world, there is no administration, there is no law implementation, money has no value,
there is no 911 to call and there is no characterized social structure. The only they have is family
members, friends, and strangers.
The social issues that take place revolve around Rick understanding that his wife Laurie has been
unfaithful. Shane is Rick s best friend and Laurie has reservations about the relations continuing. In
fact, Laurie has stated that the night with Shane was a mistake. Shane becomes aggressive with Rick
regarding an argument that resulted in Shane telling Rick to shut up about everything. When
everything has come to a head with all the friends and the zombies kill Amy, the friends grieve at her
funeral. Jim says at her funeral, that no one deserves this kind

VECTOR FUNCTIONS
Motion in Space: Velocity and Acceleration
In this section, we will learn about:
The motion of an object using tangent and normal vectors.
MOTION IN SPACE: VELOCITY AND ACCELERATION
Here, we show how the ideas of tangent and normal vectors and curvature can be
used in physics to study:
 The motion of an object, including its velocity and acceleration, along a space curve.
VELOCITY AND ACCELERATION
In particular, we follow in the footsteps of
Newton by using these methods to derive
Kepler s First Law of planetary motion.
VELOCITY
Suppose a particle moves through space so that its position vector at
time t is r(t).
VELOCITY
Vector 1
Notice from the figure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
 So, C=i j+ k
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
Example 3
It follows: v(t) = 2t2 i + 3t2 j + t k + i j + k
= (2t2 + 1) i + (3t2 1) j + (t + 1) k
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
Example 3
Since v(t) = r (t), we have: r(t) = ∫ v(t) dt
= ∫ [(2t2 + 1) i + (3t2 1) j + (t + 1) k] dt = (⅔t3 + t) i + (t3 t) j + (Âœt2 + t) k + D
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
Example 3
Putting t = 0, we find that D = r(0) = i.
So, the position at time t is given by: r(t) = (⅔t3 + t + 1) i + (t3 t) j + (Âœt2 + t) k
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
The expression for r(t) that we obtained
in Example 3 was used to plot the path of the particle here for 0 ≀ t ≀ 3.
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
In general, vector integrals allow us to recover:
 Velocity, when acceleration is known
v(t )
v(t0 )
t t0
a(u ) du
 Position, when velocity is known
r (t ) r (t0 )
t t0
v(u ) du
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
If the force that acts on a particle is known, then the acceleration can be found from
Newton s Second Law of Motion.
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
The vector version of this law states that if,
at any time t, a force F(t) acts on an object of mass m producing an acceleration a(t),
then
F(t) = ma(t)
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
Example 4
An object with mass m that moves in

Taking a Look at Game Theory
GAME THEORY
Introduction:
Game theory is the study of strategic decision making, cooperation and conflicts. The concepts appear
when the actions of several agents are independent. The agents are like groups, individuals, firms or
any combination of these. These ideology of provides a language to formulate, structure, analyze, and
strategic scenarios. Specifically, it is the study of mathematical models of conflict and cooperation
between intelligent rational decision makers. This is mainly used in economics, psychology, logic and
biology.
DeïŹnitions of games:
The main object in the game theory is the game. It needs a player to play this games. The regular type
of games are decision problem or normal form which are to be played by the single player.
Games can be described formally by various levels of the details. Coalitional game or cooperative
game is high level, specifying what numbers is given by each potential group or also it can be
obtained by the cooperation of its members. Let us take an example of parliament where many
political parties will be there. But the party which has the majority of seats in the parliament rules the
nation. This type of games deals with the relative amount of power having with the individual players
or on the division of successful coalitions.
In contrast, Non cooperative game theory is concerned with the analysis of strategic choices. In this
the timing and order play crucial role and are taken into consideration. For example if a

The facility must promote, preserve and protect the safety of every individual within their care. The
facility should be situated at a central location in which a large number of community members have
access to it. The facilities should be able to provide all the services of a healthcare institution including
birthing centers and psychiatric care centers. There is a need for medications and other supplies within
the institution. Medical suppliers may provide all the necessary supplies like medications and surgical
instruments. In most institutions, there are individuals who are responsible for ensuring that the
supplies do not run out. Business challenges are part of operating any business therefore the healthcare
institution must be able to solve the toughest business challenges while the suppliers mustbe able to
take on their responsibilities, hence the quality of the care delivered is not compromised (Marmor
Wendt, 2011). Technology Presently, technology has saved countless lives. The advancement in
technology has allowed healthcare professionals to diagnose illnesses and deliver treatments to
patients in an enhance manner. Moreover, technology has improved the quality of care offered in a
healthcare institution. Therefore, technology should be incorporated in the healthcare system in areas
such as diagnosis of illnesses, surgical procedures, and treatment improvements for patients.

  • 2. Liver Injury Research Paper Liver plays a central role in transforming and clearing chemicals and is consequently susceptible to the toxicity induced from these agents. Chemicals that cause liver injury are termed hepatotoxins, and more than 900 drugs have been implicated in causing liver injury and it is the most common reason for a drug to be withdrawn from the market. Chemicals often cause subclinical injury to liver which may be manifest by abnormal liver enzyme tests. Certain medicinal agents when taken in overdoses and sometimes even when introduced within therapeutic ranges may injure the organ. Other chemical agents such as those used in laboratories and industries, natural chemicals (e.g. microcystins) and herbal remedies can also induce hepatotoxicity (e.g. Lycopodiumserratum and Ephedra equisetina). ... Approximately 75% of blood reaching the liver arrives directly from gastrointestinal organs and then spleen through portal veins which bring drugs and xenobiotics in concentrated form. Numerous mechanisms may be cited to be responsible for either inducing hepatic injury or worsening the damage process. Although the exact mechanism of hepatic injury remains largely unknown, it appears to involve 2 pathways direct hepatotoxicity and adverse immune reactions. In most instances, hepatic injury is initiated by the bioactivation of drugs to chemically reactive metabolites, which have the ability to interact with cellular macromolecules such as proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids, leading to protein dysfunction, lipid peroxidation, DNA damage, and oxidative ... • 3. Analysis Of As Good As It Gets The film As Good As It Gets, reflects on the psychopathologies of three main characters. Marvin Udall is an obsessive compulsive writer who maintains poor boundaries with those who encounter him. Simon Bishop is a homosexual artist who struggles with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) about his estranged relationship with his parents and following an attack in his home. Carol Connelly is a waitress who suffers from anxiety, due to her son having an extreme case of asthma causing him to have constant medical attention. These random characters lives intersect in such a way, that in the end they become their greatest support network. Marvin Udall displays typical behaviors that many functioning obsessive compulsives have in common. Mr. Udall has obsessions which are, persistent thoughts, urges that are experienced as intrusive and unwanted, whereas compulsions are repetitive behaviors or mental acts that an individual feels driven to perform in response to an obsession (American Psychiatric Association., 2013). Very early in the film we see Mr. Udall struggles with contamination related obsessions and participates in ritualistic activities which serve to lessen his obsessional anxiety. We see him engage in hand washing rituals with extremely hot water and several bars of soap which is only intrusive to him, to later in the film where he must take a shower before dinner and has the character Carol waiting on him for what seemed like hours. Mr. Udall has a ritual to eat at a certain restaurant everyday for breakfast, where he also must bring his own plastic silverware for fear of germs. Mr. Udall shows his compulsive traits by feeling the need to lock his apartment door three times, turns the lights on and off five times and cannot step on cracks or lines in the flooring or street. These repetitive behaviors are normally not intrusive to others, but Mr. Udall does involve others in his compulsion when he is trying not to step on the cracks in the sidewalk. We do not know the exact rationale behind his compulsions, but many people fear that something bad will happen if they do not engage in their compulsion. What is interesting about Mr. Udall is how he did not perceive his quality of life to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Dylan s lyrics join a range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences . The quote above in meaning is that just by having democracy and giving the people the rights doesn t solve any issues. People still do bad things while having democracy and they blame it on the government. She also believed that Louis XVI should not have been executed However, Maximilien would disagree with this quote because he believed that only democracy would fix the government and the country. Maximilien Robespierre is one of the best known leaders of the French Revolution. He was born in Arras, France and he went to school to become a lawyer and got his degree at law school. He was head of the Italian government from 1922 till 1943. Reasons For Police Brutality As recent incidents of police brutality plague our nation toward minority groups, especially that of African Americans, the question asked by many is if such deadly force necessary, and what other actions could have led to a better outcome? Although our primary thought is to blame police officers for death, we must realize that sometimes deadly action is necessary and anyone put in a similar situation would act the same way. According to the U.S Supreme Court in the 1985 case, Tennessee vs Garner, police force can only be used when, [the] suspect is a significant threat to officer or others. Later, in the case of Graham vs. Connor, the Supreme Court ruled that officers who use force must be judged on the totality of circumstances and a standard of objective reasonableness. Force must be judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer on the scene, rather than with the 20/20 vision of hindsight; however, this does not excuse police brutality, and officers must face penalties for taking someone s life. Cases such as, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, and Tamir Rice illustrate when police need to be punished for their actions and be held accountable for violence against citizens. Different authors have different opinions, such as Disinger (1993), Wheeler (1985) and Sterling (1992). It is considered important, however, the actors in the history of events that sought out for the need for an education for sustainable development. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Following his election, President Trump organized a bill to repeal components of Obamacare. The Freedom Caucus, a group of about three dozen conservatives in Congress, vowed to vote no. Why? The bill did not go far enough to repeal the Affordable Care Act (Collins 1). Without the votes of the Freedom Caucus, the bill had no chance of passing and so it was pulled from consideration. The Freedom Caucus, along with countless Americans, wants more to be done. It is obvious that the Affordable Care Act needs more than just a bit of reform. Why is it so important that the Affordable Care Act be repealed? One reason is that Obamacare has become far too expensive. New health care spending due to Obamacare adds up to an astounding $1.8 trillion (Senger 1). To help pay for this, Obamacare will cut some aid to Medicare, which is health insurance aided by tax dollars for those sixty five and older (Auerbach 2). The cuts from Medicare will be in excess of $700 billion from 2013 to 2022 (Senger 1 2). Unfortunately, this will heavily affect health care for seniors, because the money from the cuts will not be going to Medicare, but will go towards paying for Obamacare as a whole. Maximally entangled two qubit states, often called Bell states, where shown to violate classical (local) correlation properties [33, 34] and are an essential building block for quantum communication and distributed quantum computation. Unfortunately, such entangled states are also difficult to generate and sustain as interaction with a noisy environment typically leads to rapid loss of their unique quantum properties. In the context of QSC, such an entanglement has been generated exploring various types of interactions such as direct qubit qubit interaction [35, 36], coupling to a common cavity mode [37] or photon mediated interactions for qubits embedded in a waveguide [38]. In this context, remote entanglement of spatially separated quantum systems have important im plications in addressing the scaling problem for quantum information processing. Indeed, as a solution to this scaling issue, we propose here to follow a modular approach where the quantum information is encoded, protected and locally manipulated in small units consisting of a few cavity modes or/and few qubits and the communication between modules is ensured through quantum teleportation techniques. Sharing of a pair of entangled subsystems between two modules is central for these teleportation pro tocols. While the isolation of the modules simplifies the scaling by avoiding any undesired cross talk between the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Imagery In Poetry Imagery within Poetry Imagery is a vital element to poetry, not only does it portray a literal image, but also helps amplify the emothions within the poem. In poems such as, The Widow s Lament in Springtime, the strongest emotion conveyed seems to be acceptance with a bit of sadness. This will be shown in four different examples that almost follow the path of grieving to acceptance and finally release. In opening of the poem, the first line from the speaker is as follows, Sorrow is my own yard... (Williams 1). This line immediately sets a tone of sadness over the poem. With sorrow being a strong word for sadness, it almost prepares the reader to look at the poem from a darker standpoint rather than if the opening word was happiness. ... With the wording being in past tense, it can only be assumed that the speaker s husband has passed and that the sorrow is actually grief. The next couple of lines are described with more fiery and bright colors, in a way showing the brightning of the speaker s attitude. As stated, The plumtree is white today with masses of flowers. Masses of flowers load the cherry braches and color some bushes yellow and some red but the grief in my heart is stronger than they for though they were my joy formerly, today I notice them and turned away forgetting (Williams 9 19). These sentences are a great example of how imagery not only creates the image but also emphasizes the emotion within the poem. As a reader it is easily seen that the speaker is still having an internal battle between their depression and acceptance. As the speaker begins seeing things more bright and lively their grief is overshadowing connecting anything with positive thoughts, but what s different is the speaker has turned away in an attempt at letting go. Next, the speaker introduces their son which in a way changes the mood of the poem with the innocence of the child. As seen, Today my son told me that in the meadows, at the edge of the heavy woods in the distance, he saw trees of white flowers. I feel that I would like to go there and fall into those flowers and sink into the marsh near them (Williams 20 29). It is interesting how the son also notices the white flowers that the speaker connected earlier with their sorrow. This is where the reader learns that the tone of the poem was not that of sadness but one leading to acceptance in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For those that choose to step back and take a break from the world, isolation can be a time of growth and self discovery. However, if a person is forced into isolation, like Gregor Samsa and the angel were, it has a completely different effect. For the angel in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings and Gregor Samsa in The Metamorphosis , their isolation was physical as well as mental. The angel in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , was locked in a chicken coop for what seems to be several months, constantly being picked at and gawked at by townspeople who had paid to see him. He was a large man with enormous wings living in a tiny space with no meaningful human contact. Although the reader is not able to delve into the mind of the angel and see his thoughts, it is easy to imagine how someone would feel if they were in a strange place, locked in a small chicken coop, and looked upon as a sideshow. In the Metamorphosis , Gregor Samsa was also locked in a small space for several months. Although he was in a familiar place, after his transition to a bug, he was looked upon by his family as a stranger. He became more and more isolated as the story went on both from his family and his humanity. Although the angel and Gregor were both nonhuman and experienced several months of isolations, they were very different. The angel was described as an old scruffy man with very large wings. Gregor on the other hand was a human man that had completely turned into a bug. There were no physical human characteristics to Gregor once he had turned into a large cockroach. The other characters in the stories also treated the Gregor and the old man very differently. The people in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , seemed to be a lot more fascinated by the angel than scared of him. People wanted to see the angel and came from all over and even paid money to do so. In The Metamorphosis , Gregor s family was terrified of him and kept him locked up in his room until he died.
