St Thomas Aquinas developed Natural Law theory from Aristotle and the Stoics in
the 13th century. Natural Law is an absolutist and deontological theory. To believe
and use Natural Law theory, one has to believe in God because Natural Law

what is wrong in one situation is wrong in ever situation and to determine what is

A cell is a dynamic and complex structure surrounded by a very thin membrane
known as a plasma membrane or a cytoplasmic membrane. This membrane acts as a
barrier between the inside of the cell and the outside, which results in different

permeable to ions and organic molecules, so it can regulate substances coming in and
out of the cell. These membranes have played a crucial role in the evolution of

In A Discourse on the Method, Descartes attempted to prove the existence of God in a
priori manner. He did not trust his own senses when trying to prove the existence of
God and therefore he relied on the ontological argument. By making the same
assumption made by Anselm, which was that an ontological argument assumes that
existenceis a predicate of God, Descartes is able to conclude that God exists is true
by definition because the subject God , who already contains all perfections,

The mantle is one of many layers of the Earth s core. As you can see from the
picture on the left, the first layer is the Earth s crust, which compared to earth, is
like a sheet of paper wrapped around a basket ball. The next layer is the lithosphere.
This layer is broken into plates, better known as the tectonic plates mentioned
earlier. The asthenosphere comes next, which is weak compared to the lithosphere.
Since the layer is hotter, the layer is more soft. As we get closer to the center, we

While working in the different schools as a substitute teacher, I learned what
schools had the highest level of students with special needs in spelling, and math.
These kids were taken out of class to work with me on a one on one level helping
to try and get them caught up in spelling, sounds and how to read, as well as math.
It was amazing to see kids that were in the second grade not knowing there sounds
or being able to add and subtract math correctly. They were in second grade on a
first grade reading/math levels. I also worked in schools that had the highest level
of kids in reading and math. Why such a split? The way the school are set up, you
would actually think that the location of the schools verses the issues within the
school would be flipped. When substituting at the charter school I found out that
they have a higher than average poverty level at their school, where 73% of the
children in the school receive free lunches, which is up from 2013 at 65%. Our
neighboring Twin Fallscounty school district runs at a 55% with their charter
school runs as low as 28% for free lunches. It is hard to figure out the reasons behind

when concepts we use today came into being. While reading this book I became
excited about risk and statistical analysis. The author is Peter L. Bernstein graduate of

It was a very profound and eye opening moment for me to see how the author tied
communism to the deliberate exclusion of risk. Any manipulation or attempt to
hide risk changes the outcome and outlook of a situation. This was evidenced in
the Soviet Union when their government tried to exercise control by pushing the
concept of risk out of consideration. The end result was a complete stifling of social
and economic progress. I personally compare this scenario to what Bernstein said
earlier in the book about Greek society. Although the Greeks were great
