Jane Austen s book, Northanger Abbey tells the tale of a young heroine, Catherine
Morland coming into her adulthood in the city of Bath and later at Northanger
Abbey. She learns of social standards, friendship, love, and dishonesty all of which
are written in the books she loves so dearly. The last paragraph of the work finishes
the satire with extreme cliched points that represent the gothic novel to a tee.
Throughout the novel, Jane Austenuses satire to make fun of the classical gothic
novel with the cliched points such as love at first sight, a man coming to save the
day, and of course a mysterious abbey that holds all the spooks and scares an 18
year old girl could wish for. But alas, the Northanger Abbey is nothing of the sort,

of which are disproven by our hero, Henry Tinely. The humor in the novel is shown
through the actions and dialogue of our beloved characters. Catherine is rather
ignorant when it comes to social cues such as Isabella s constant flirting and desire
of attention, not just from the opposite sex but rather Catherine as well. Our
heroine was blinded by happiness and sisterhood to see what the reader saw all
along, Isabella was lying, gold digger with a pretty smile and goddess complex. A
part of the humor in Catherine s ignorance lies in the double meaning comments
Isabella makes that go over her poor head and when she finally realizes Isabella s
true motives towards the end of the novel: Money.

Zoot Suit by Luis Valdez explains the racially charged trial of Sleepy Lagoon in
1942 in which the court of California charges a group of Chicanos with the murder
of another Mexican American man. For Chicanos, 1940 was an era of discrimination
so the trials were unfairly biased against them. To fight against this discrimination,
many Chicanos wore an exaggerated suit, referred to as a zoot suit, that included a
long, loose jacket with padded shoulders and high waisted trousers. This choice of
wardrobe earned the Chicanos a name of zoot suiters . Ethnic identity is an important
role in this play because the men on trial were accused of murder for their cultural
background, choice of clothing and biased media influence rather than evidence.

ABSTRACT
Background: Mobility impairments seen after Stroke impact walking speed,
endurance and balance. Almost all the individuals with Stroke have fear of fall. The
physical impairments in balance and gait along with individual s perception about his
/her own abilities to maintain balance might have an impact on level of activity and
participation in the community. The association of these variables with recovery of
Stroke has been well studied. However, it is currently unknown which of these
variables are most associated with activity and participation in the community. This
study aimed to identify the correlation of walking capacity and perception of fall with
activity participation.
Methods: 30 Subjects were assessed for walking capacity (6 minute walk test) Self
efficacy for falls (Modified Falls Efficacy scale). Level of Activity Limitation (AL)
Participation Restriction (PR) was graded on validated ICF Measure of Participation
and Activities. (IMPACT S)
Results: Data was analyzed using Pearson s correlation coefficient regression model.
Walking distance and Falls efficacy is significantly correlated (r= 0.751 and 0.683,
respectively) with Participation restriction. Walking distance correlated with Activity

an engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge. Through this approach
students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real world
challenges and problems. Beautiful Stuff! is a book written by Cathy Weisman
Topal and Lella Gandini that shares the journey of real teachers in a real school
who were inspired by educators from Reggio Emilia, Italy. Cathy Topal spent two
mornings a week in the preschool and kindergarten as a visual aid teacher. Lella
Gandini consulted with teachers about aspects of the Reggio Emilia approach. The
teachers in book Rite Harris and Debbie Grubbs observed and recorded what
happens when the focus is on process rather than product in project based learning.
The book provides approaches on how to nurture the creativity of children, which
