King Arthur And First King
Ideally, a king has an old look, a great amount of power, and naturally rules his domain with an iron
fist in literature. In the two works, Le Morte d Arthur and First Knight see two different versions of
how king Arthur is portrayed. Yet the honor and respect that a king should have remains undisturbed,
much like how both are products of their time. First Knight is told as a modern retelling of the legend
and Le Morte d Arthur is a minorly altered, much older work. While the depictions of king Arthur are
seen as the paramount backbone for arthurian times, these two works have also proven to exhibit
differences and similarities, illustrate Arthur s figure in character, and serve as preservation of the time

African American women, often perceived as a sexual object or the Jezebel (the stereotype of white

In the 1968 art exhibition Cybernetic Serendipity L. D. Harmon and K. C. Knowlton take a simple
picture of two birds flying in the sky and computer generated the photography by converting electrical
signals into numerical representations on magnetic tape, this then provides a digital version of the
photo to be used in computer processing. The photo is divided into fragments where its generated by
numbers. The photo is given a density that s shown by different shades of dots that creates the
computer generated photograph. In close range, you can see each separate shaded dot which makes up
the photo. At 20 30 feet, away from the overall computer generated photograph you are able to
conduct the figure that once was an original photograph.
The modernist work I chose was A draughtsman drawing a portrait by Albrecht Durer. Albrecht Durer
was one of the many modernist yet abstract. I chose this Modernist work because Durer is abstract and
he uses perception is a great deal of his art works. Albrecht Durer s artworks were very diverse and
vibrant, they also included modern ways of creativity and originality. Durer was a huge example of

the Whites to obtain economical gain. Their goal was to break Blacks of their rich heritage and spirit
in order to control them as they would with domesticated cattle. This philosophy transcended from
generation to generation to where it was instilled into their processes of thought and their way of life.
Whites have taunted Blacks attempting to belittle their character, squander their self confidence, and
brand them the infamous word nigger . While some carried oppression on their shoulders, a selected

At 3:00 PM on Sunday April 13th, 2014, I attended the performance Shared Graduate Dance Concert
at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center Dance Theatre. Walking into the theatre I had anticipated
experiencing an upright performance. This sensation came as I visited the website for the Shared
Graduate Concert and saw a breath taking photo that entailed a person behind a curtain holding their
hand up and a fuzzy person in front of a curtain. Also, I knew I was in for a good ride after I saw
Meghan Bowden in the pamphlet.
The temperament of the performance Canned Soup shook the audience out of their chairs. This scene
in particular stood out to me the most. The woman dressed in a just a bathing suit, a pretty dark scene
with only a beaming red light, and absolutely no music, obscured a unique type of humor during her
performance. The scene was comprised of a small swimming pool, canned soup, and side performers
dressed in black clothing with ties. In place of music Lynne Price was able to interact with her breath
as a way to create a rhythm that she could move her body too.
