Comparing A Streetcar Named Desire And The Glass Menagerie
The text from A Streetcar Named Desire and The Glass Menagerie, both written by the renowned
author Tennessee Williams, deal with the topics of life s pressures, and the desire to succeed in
everything we do. Oftentimes, people place unrealistic expectations upon us and set the bar higher
than we can achieve, or even want to reach. People end up developing mechanisms to deal with these
stresses and tensions that have been created (Billington 2016). We find other unhealthy habits and
vices to supplant the reality we are trying to escape, that hopefully will take away this pain and
suffering we are experiencing. In both of these plays, the characters are not able to live in their present
realities. Two of the main characters are closely listate. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eats like one, moves like one, talks like one! (Williams 1947). Blanche is on a wave that will take her
to an eventual death. Blanche initially interacts with Stanley in a prehistoric type of attitude. She uses
a woman s wiles to make herself seem desirable. After all, a woman s charm is fifty percent illusion.
(Williams 1947). Blanche only knows this way. To be the kind of woman that a misogynistic man
would want. Sex is what validates her existence, without it she becomes nothing, or worse she is dead.
She is flirtatious and uses her charms to gain the upper hand in her new surroundings. In the end,
though, Stanley rapes Blanche, which causes her to lose grip with what little reality she still had. This
event decimated her, it killed what was left inside of her. Her illusions no longer existed. The final
scene has Blanche stating to a doctor who is a stranger and appears to be a gentleman, Whoever you
are I have always depended on the kindness of strangers. (Williams 1947), as she walks away with
him. Amanda has alternately been as lost, but drifts off into her dream world, living vicariously
through her children, living in her past, believing that this is her reality. It is instead just a world of
glass Menagerie. A world that will crumble around her. Blanche is passionate and full

indication of the in consistency of the algorithm. In this case we would revise out algorithm and

algorithm. Also the statistical test may reveal no significant difference between groups, in this case we
will re construct the groups based on manipulation of three parameters, and we will revisit the range
of variation for each parameter. 2. Exp2: We predict a significant difference between groups,
waveforms and the interaction between both of them, and the post hoc test will reveal that groups with
variation in Gnamax, Gleak and α will be more selective than groups with them constant. This is an
indication that Gnamax, Gleak and α can be used to improve stimulation selectivity. However, the test
may show no significance between groups, in this case we will revise the parameters combinations.
Also, We may run the statistical test relatively to the stimulus strength (K) instead of NOC. In this
case we should revise the parameters variation range and confirm that all cells is stable when running
the test. 3. EXp3: Results from experiment 2 will guide us

Keith Richards Honors Chuck Berry at Polar Music
On Tuesday, August 26th, Chuck Berry was awarded the Polar Music Prize in a ceremony at
Stockholm Concert Hall, as well as a short video clip from Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards,
honoring the rock guitar legend. Unfortunately Berry wasn t present to receive the award himself, but
luckily Welsh rock guitarist Dave Edmunds was there to accept the award on his behalf. Ironically,
Keith Richards wasn t physically present at the ceremony either, but he sent a video in his stead,
paying homage to Chuck Berry and how much he has influenced Richards personally. In the short,
forty five second clip, Richards sings Berry s praises.

Bruce Springsteen aka The Boss
Born Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen on September 23, 1949 to Adele and Douglas Springsteen in
Freehold, New Jersey. Raised in a working class household, his father, Doug had trouble holding
down a steady job and his mother worked as a secretary. Bruce saw a guitar hanging in a store
window. His mother, took out a 60 dollar loan to buy it. Bruce and his father had a very difficult
relationship, which would later help his writing. Bruce moved down to Asbury Park, New Jersey and
lived with future band mate Steve Van Zandt. Playing in several different bands while he forged his

were pleased. Bruce became the first entertainer to make the cover of both Newsweek and Time in the
same week. The album hit number three and he was seeing no money. Becoming suspicious Bruce
decided to hire an accountant and an attorney, finding out he had no rights to his own songs, his
manager Appel did. Appel s company was making more money off his albums than he was. The battle
between the two began, Bruce sued Appel, he wanted out of the deal they signed on the hood of the
car. In return Appel countersued and stopped Bruce from recording with Landau, turning it into a long
and bitter battle but Bruce did not back down. Bruce said he would walk away from music completely
before he would give in. At 3 a.m. on 28 May 1977 they came to a settlement, Bruce gave up money
and Appel gave up control. Jon Landau became his new manager, then they made an album that
summed up all the hard lessons he learned, Darkness on the Edge of Town . Bruce was no longer the
romantic young boy now he was a man who fought for what he believed in and won, this changed the
way he wrote and he became stronger. Next came the albums,

William Browning And Elizabeth Barrett Browning Essay
The Two Authors Different Perspective Literatures in the Victorian Era
Many authors are influenced by the society, culture, politic and economy during their period.
Therefore, their literary works usually describe the condition of their period directly or indirectly. The
two authors, Roberts Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, also expose the culture and the
condition of the society of the Victorian era through their works. The authors are married couple
authors of the Victorian era. Roberts Browning s a typical literary work is My Last Duchess. Elizabeth
Barrett Browning s one of the most famous work is Aurora Leigh. In the two poems, the authors
mainly focus on the different gender roles. Even though the two Victorian era literatures, Aurora Leigh
and My Last Duchess, demonstrate the social issue, which is a sexual discrimination during the
Victorian era, each author emphasizes the seriousness of the issue by using different perspectives on
women s roles and positions. My Last Duchess, which was written by Roberts browning demonstrates
the horrible condition of the Victorian society by exposing the author s perspective on the genders role
in the Victorian era. The book, the literature of the Victorian era, defines the poem a perfect picture of
cold blooded heartlessness, a thing possible in any age though fortunately (Hugh 427). The poem
clearly shows the dreadful social condition for a woman in the Victorian era. According to the author,

I attended my second APICS Central Indiana Professional Development Meeting at Carmel on the

Lesson number three is it is better to be a fox than a hedgehog . On the book, Silver expands this idea
and notes that a fox know many things because it s likely to intensely question itself and gather
information from a variety of sources. A hedgehog, on the other hand, will be more likely to rely on a
single source of conventional wisdom. This idea encourage us to be resourceful like a fox, so we can
be a more valuable contributor during the collaborative process. Collaboration is typically understood
as a process in which multiple people provide input .However, collaboration can also be performed on
an individual basis by collecting the information we need to shape to temper our projections and plans.
Lesson number four is polls become more accurate the closer you get to the Election Day . This idea
encourage us to continually update our forecast especially when we are approaching a decision point.
The farther into the future you forecast, the less accurate your forecasts are likely to be. The closer you
can update your forecasts to the point of decision, the more you improve your chances for accuracy.
But, we need to notice if we wait too long to share our forecasts in order to ensure maximum accuracy,
then we are defeating the purpose of the forecasting process. The optimal time to commit to a forecast
is when a decision has to be made based on that forecast. For example, a commitment to production or
to a purchase. We need

Matthew Doublets
The issued with the doublets
In the Matthew s account of the Gospel as well as in the Luke s there are several duplicates of the
same text, while in the Gospel of Mark the same text appears only once, one of this examples is found
in Mark, in the parable of the measure, (Mk. 4:25[NRSV]). The same declaration, almost word for
word appears twice in separate occasions in Matthew verses 13:12 and in 25:29 and in Luke 8:18 as
well as in 19:26. The same dynamic appears twenty two times in Matthew where as according to
scholars who support the outside sources theory, the doublets mentioned above allegedly prove that
the writers of Matthew and Luke both took liberty in benefiting from the Markan account as well as
the Q , M and that of the L sources. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More than a few explanations have been given. First of all, scholars have contemplated the idea that
there is a possibility that there were two men in each occasion and that Mark has left one demoniac
out of the picture. Since Mark, is said by scholars to have written at least two decades before any of
the evangelicals. While this might be understood in Mark 10:46, when he mentions by name one of
the blind men or perhaps only one of them continued to followed Jesus, this is more of a problem in
this passage. What would have been the reason for the author of Mark to leave one person out? In the
case of the two demoniacs is it not more frightening and more dangerous and therefore a more
significant of a miracle to be challenged by two demonized men than one? It is difficult to understand
why the two Mark and Luke, who of course may have never read Matthew, would be so consistently
different without any reason or hidden agendas. Secondly, some experts have disputed that it is merely
the nature of miracle stories to grow in the telling. This elucidation is totally unsophisticated and
simplistic. Moreover, if the stories were overstated, why the number would always be two? Why
would it not some of the stories have had two or four, perhaps seven or six? The probabilities for this
to accord are minor, however, that the doubling is simply due to such a

The Phrynosoma Hernandesi s Coloration
Does the Phrynosoma hernandesi s coloration assist in camouflaging itself into the environment?
Introduction: The issue of predation amoung most animals in not uncommon and has been the leading
reasons for increased survival pressures. As a result many animals have evolved various different
predatory strategies, these specific traits assist in increasing a species chances for survival.
Phrynosoma hernandesi is a species of lizard in the family Phrynosomatidae, and is a highly variable
species. Characteristics such as colour, pattern, and size vary based on its geographical location. Short
horned lizards such as the Phrynosoma hernandesi, have settled all across North America, particularly
in Saskatchewan and Alberta Canada as well as Montana, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico. The
Phrynosoma hernandesi favours the desert environment and generally resides in the semi arid
environments of North and Central America, much like a majority of short horned lizards that have
settled throughout Mexico and along northeastern Sonora, Chihuahua, and Durango. Through years of
evolutionary adaptation Phrynosoma cornutum, which generally resides in the Sonoran desert,
Colorado, Kansas, and Northern Mexico, have developed cryptic colouration (William 2009).
Similarly, the colouration of the Phrynosoma hernandesi varies based on the geological location, its
colouring ranges between grey, yellowish brown, and reddish brown. Typically due to the colouration
of the Phrynosoma hernandesi

Freedom Extended Definition
Freedom Lives Within
Three people are walking down a New York City street. One is a Black man, one is an Asian woman,
and the other person is a White man. One can easily picture the three people walking beside one
another because the image is not bizarre or strange, rather; the image is completely normal. The vision
is normal because these three American citizens have the freedom to walk where they choose, with
whom they choose. The word freedom is often overlooked and taken for granted by those who have it.
A popular idea of freedom is: Freedom lets someone do whatever he chooses to do. Although this
thought of freedom is technically correct, the phrase barely scratches the surface of the idea of
freedom.

April 11, 2012
Over the past twenty five years, Starbucks has been leading the coffee revolution and turned a dying
industry upside down by mainstreaming their stores and creating a public fascination. From the
beginning of Starbucks stores through 2006, they have opened stores all over the U.S. and will be
taking it overseas. Starbucks is leading the coffee revolution and has expanded their reach all over the
world. With this much growth, it is easy for the company to lose their edge by forgetting the reasons
they have become so large from the beginning. In this analysis, I am going to go over an economic
assessment, marketing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everywhere you look you are bombarded with cups, coasters, spoons and anything else related to
coffee. The customer service is dropping and this is ultimately bringing down their profits and is not
due to the availability of growth.
Starbucks is still only supplying less than 5 percent of the coffee market. With this low of a number
there is still much more growth that can take place within the industry. This number allows for many
more stores to be added to their list of future prospects. Weber states that competitiveness is related to
company effectiveness, which is determined by whether the company satisfies the needs of
stakeholders (groups affected by business practices). Important stakeholders include stockholders,
who want a return on their investment; customers, who want a high quality product or service; and
employees, who desire interesting work and reasonable compensation for their services. The
community, which wants the company to contribute to activities and projects and minimize pollution
of the environment, is also an important stakeholder. Companies that do not meet stakeholders needs
are unlikely to have a competitive advantage over other firms in their industry. The economy is still
moving ahead strong and the possibility of their becoming a recession are starting to become a bit
more possible. The finances of the company are very strong and one of the leaders within the industry

Slavery By Another Name Analysis
After the Civil War black southerners were no longer slaves, but they were not yet free (Slavery by
Another Name). Many southern blacks rushed to celebrate their new found freedom through marriage
and coming together as families. However the joys of emancipation did last, for many white
southerners were turned bitter to the core for the destruction of their economy. And many felt the
newly released slaves to be competitors in obtaining land and wealth. The documentary Slavery By
Another Name tells the narrative of a just a few African American men who lived through the era
between emancipation and the signing of Circular 3591 by Franklin D. Roosevelt which gave
authorities across the country the power to finally crackdown on involuntary servitude on December
12, 1942. It also reflects on one of the darkest times in american history and shows how the expansion
of America was paved by the suffering of an entire race.
The mood of the story is somber throughout most of the documentary due to one s reflection on the
past evils of America. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

later in the documentary, when the audience learns of the mechanism used to keep African Americans
in a vicious cycle of labor, Rocks and Gravel by Henry Belafonte is played against the imagery of
harsh physical labour and men drudging around in shackles. Including a chain gang work song was a
good fit for this scene in the movie. What I liked least about the film is how it only focused on a few
narratives. I would have liked to see more stories used in the making of this

How Is Conflict Presented in Bayonet Charg
How is conflict presented in Bayonet Charge and another poem?
Introduction
Conflict often has harmful effects, including causing death and destruction, so it is usually viewed
negatively. However, conflict can also bring out positive traits in people, and the people involved in it
may be respected. Bayonet Charge imagines a soldier s experience in battle. The Charge of The Light
Brigade recounts the story of the charge made by the Light Brigade in the Battle of Balaclava.
Language
One way conflicted is presented in Bayonet Charge is through the use of language. The language used,
portrays the soldier and his actions/movements. Ted Hughes uses sibilance to portray the soldier s
actions as well as feelings. For example, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sales and Sales Contract. Sales and sales contracts are governed by the Uniform Commercial Code

The Validity of Samuel P. Huntington’s Thesis in “The...
The aim of Samuel P. Huntington s The Clash of Civilizations was to provide an academic framework
to understand almost all of the conflicts that had broken out since the end of the twentieth century, to
include predicting the appearance of future conflicts. According to Huntington, there will be a clash of
civilizations since the world has been in an unreasonable era since the end of the Cold War and the
position of the nation state has not been of any significance. Far more than the political objectives of
territorial take overs, it is the religious element of culture that has become the main cause of conflict.
It should be acknowledged that Huntington s Clash of Civilizations is a relatively simple theory which
focuses on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet, Huntington states with caution that the differences between his civilizations do not imply the
surfacing of conflicts between them. In contrary, Huntington also develops a completely opposite
argument. Without a doubt, Huntington declares that his civilizations are in conflict because they are
driven by irreconcilable moral and political values, the necessity to survive, and the will to dominate.
The characteristics of the new world order would be that much more disturbing because the
civilizations would act according to the kin country syndrome, mainly those civilizations would
partner with the less kin civilizations. Eventually, a break out in conflict would arise along the fault
lines between civilizations. Huntington s explanation of conflicts all over the world seem to make
sense since a number of conflicts have arisen along his fault lines.
Huntington states that Islam has bloody borders, hence he describes the appearance of a prominent
Islam threat for the western countries, in addition to the already present threats. His observation of the
borders of his Islam civilizations clearly mirror the practical sources of conflicts on the ground.
Moreover, Huntington argues that the Islamic civilization could use the help of the military, especially
with China and their anti western reaction, therefore creating a Confucian Islamic connection. Western

The Renaissance Era brought about the desire for expansion, in terms of both territory and ideals. Joan
of Arc was a strong woman who stepped up and was able to restore the morale of France during this
era, after the French throne was taken over by the English. She dressed as a man and took on roles that
were dominantly held by men. Even when she knew she would be punished by death for her behaviors
she refused to change her ways. Joan of Arc was unlike any other women of the time and refused to be
oppressed. Joan of Arc was born on January 6, 1412 in Lorraine to French peasants. As a young girl
Joan of Arc was often found doing housework or tending to her father s flock. She was a very kind
hearted girl and would often put those in need before herself. Those who knew her described her as a
devout Christian. A man once said I have heard it said by Messire Guillaume Front, formerly the
parish priest, that Joan was a good Catholic, that he had never met a better and had non better in his
parish (Pernoud 18). This faithfulness to the church leads to Joan of Arc announcing her call from God
that Charles VII is the rightful heir to the french throne. France was in need of morale boost and Joan
of Arc gave them that. France would be under the control of Henry V when Charles VII died, therefore
disinheriting Charles VI s son, Charles VII. When Henry V takes over the throne and dies soon after,
he leaves a son who is never recognized as King because he was

Sisyphus And The Stranger Analysis
In the written texts Myth of Sisyphus and The Stranger , French author Albert Camus vividly portrays
parallelism between his fictional characters. Through Meursault s narrative and time spent in jail in
The Stranger , Meursault reveals his emotionally removed temperament, earning himself the status of
an outsider. In contrast to Meursault, Sisyphus was never labeled as an outsider, but did not bring
joyous thoughts among the gods; Sisyphus was a burden to the gods. Although Meursault and
Sisyphus have their differences, their love for life, defiant behavior toward their punishments, and
their acceptance of their fates are the parallels between them.
To begin, Meursault was sent to jail for shooting an Arab man while at the beach with a few friends
and Marie. Upon entering the jail, Meursault was stripped of his favorite pleasures such as smoking
cigarettes, having sex, and walking along the beach. After befriending a prison guard, Meursault
began to understand his punishment was his loss of free will. After a short withdraw period from
thinking like a free man to thinking like a prisoner, (Camus, The Stranger, 77) Meursault s perspective
on prison begins to shift, if ...[he] had gotten used to not smoking , it was no longer a punishment for
him (Camus, The Stranger, 78). Meursault realizes he can adapt to any situation because he often
thought if [he] had to live in the trunk of a dead tree, with nothing to do...[he] would have gotten used
to it (Camus, The Stanger, 77). He starts to deplete himself of boredom by entertaining mind, reliving
enjoyable memories, fantasizing about sex with women, and mentally redecorating his apartment. This
allowed Meursault to not think about time and adjust to his new way of life in jail as if he was living
in that dead tree trunk. After spending a pleasant year in jail, Meursault s case was settled and he was
sentenced to death. Since Meursault was an atheist, he denied seeing the Chaplin three times. He did
not wish to talk to the Chaplin because All [he] could think about was escaping the machinery of
justice... (Camus, The Stranger, 108). Shortly before his death date, Meursault had the chance to speak
with the Chaplin. Meursault told the Chaplin that earth was not

The Wise Fools of Shakespeare
The Wise Fools of Shakespeare Infirmity that decays the wise doth ever make a better fool though
uttered by one of his own characters Shakespeare does not seem to conform to this ideal. The fools
carved by Shakespeare in his plays showed no resemblance to the mentally and physically challenged
people who were treated as pets and used for amusement during the medieval period. Rather
Shakespeare s fools appear to be in the best of their wits when they are in possession of the wisest
minds. Fools whether in their rustic vigour displaying grotesque humour or in the forms of the
sophisticated court jesters with their polished puns occupied a substantial position in his plays. Not
only they added the element of humour but often alluded a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However the most mesmerizing of Shakespeare s fools touches his pieces in the form of the court
jesters with their precise and caustic wit fabricated by their well bred minds. These fools it is often
presumed were sketched from the models of the contemporary court jesters particularly influenced by
Tarlton and Armin the royal fools who were not only popular to the audience but also favorites of the
Queen herself. One of the foremost reasons of introduction of these jesters in his plays was to impart
them with the role of social critics in the guise of their iridescent costumes. The royal fools in spite of
their acerbic tongue that blurted out many a comment against royalty were forgiven for the obvious
reasons of those statements being wrapped under their fooleries. Thus the jesters in his plays acted as
the representatives of Shakespeare, through whom he can show a glimpse of the real face of the
contemporary society to his audience. The first professional fool who made his way into Shakespeare
s plays is Touchstone in As you Like it who is probably the most buoyant of his jesters. From his pert
speeches it can be assumed that he is serving his namesake, a touchstone giving a peek of the real
world in mid of all the dreamy romanticism. In the play upon their arriving

They were able to leave history in the past and have discussions based upon mutual respect. In Cuban

Viruses are microscopic organisms that can only replicate inside cells of the host organism. Viruses for

as archaea (archaea constitutes a domain or kingdom of single celled microorganisms). There are
millions of different types of viruses. With viruses being believed to be the most abundant type of

The Ambiguity Of Gender In The Poetry Of Robert Herrick
Robert Herrick wrote hundreds of poems about real or imagined women. It is generally conceded that
his many fresh and fragrant mistresses were purely imaginary, but understanding how he constructs
gender is vital in developing an accurate view of his poetic art. Modern criticism often depicts Herrick
as a propagandist for the received standards of his day, yet close examination of his texts reveals that
he recognized the ambiguities of gender and the inconsistencies of his era s beliefs pertaining to
women, disrupted and interrogated them, and often engaged in outright parodic critique of accepted
seventeenth century gender mores. The stance Herrick takes in relation to gender issues is rooted in
the double coding of female presence that

Essay on Figurative Language in A Work of Artifice
Figurative Language in A Work of Artifice by Marge Piercy
A clever trick, crafty device, or stratagem is how Webster s Encyclopedia of Unabridged Dictionary of
the English Language defines Artifice. Marge Piercy definitely used crafty techniques in writing A
Work of Artifice. In this poem, Piercy reflects on the growth of a bonsai tree, considering the molded
existence of what it is to what it could have naturally been. With deeper analysis of this poem, the
correlation between a bonsai tree and the shaped role of women within society becomes evident. The
poet introduces one specific metaphor in the beginning, comparing the growth of a bonsai tree to the
development of women. This single metaphor is supported throughout ... Show more content on

Every day as he whittles back the branches. This line from Piercy s poem produces a vivid and
detailed picture in the imagination of its readers. Readers visualize an incredibly precise little
gardener, as he diligently prunes the bonsai tree. Another of Piercy s lines is, could have grown eighty
feet tall on the side of a mountain till split by lightning. Again the reader is provided with detailed
illustrations and sounds that correlate with the picture. In this line, for instance, a magnificent tree
high above the skyline, destroyed both by a visual bolt of lightening and a booming crack of thunder
can be seen. Examples of imagery are abundant throughout Piercy s entire poem. As readers look at
the poem externally, the imagery is directly related to a vision of the bonsai tree. With further internal
analysis, it becomes evident that there is slight ambiguity within these lines, lending themselves to
have connotative meanings. In such a way, the sense provoking images the writer includes relate not
only to describing a bonsai tree, but also to explaining the role of women within society.
Specifically, the double meanings of the imagery can be deciphered through examination of the writer
s use of metaphors. Each of the descriptions about the bonsai tree can be applied to women. In the

more than that. Every day there are 30 percent of homeless people out on the streets wanting some

Culture is perceived to be one of the difficult words to define and anthropologist Margaret Mead
termed culture as being shared patterns of behavior (Schneider S. C., and Barsoux J., 2003, 2nd ed.,

In comparison to other cultures, the business culture in Georgia is indubitably considered to be lacking
extensive formality. Georgian entrepreneurs shake hands, both upon greeting and leaving, which
should usually be induced by those who are of higher status and important positions. In addition, they
are a relationship orientated culture, meaning that they concentrate on the people that are involved and
their feelings rather than concentrating on the task on hands or known facts. Georgians freely exert
emotions when communicating, be it excitement or disappointment, and have a propensity to look
from sensitive point of few when forwarding complex information (Goderdzishvili, N.). As Nikas
informed eye contact is usually maintained to both define the importance of message and express
trust. When in the business meetings, the guests are expected to introduce themselves giving full
background information and share their experiences.
Wine Production in Georgia

the first person who comes to their house on the first day of Tet is very important because his or her
destiny can determine the fortune of the family for the whole year. Therefore, people never come to
any house on the first day unless they are invited. Householders usually invite people who have good
virtue and success, such as their children or grandchildren who are intelligent or successful, to come to
their house on the first day, so that they bring luck and success to the family. In some extended
families, the chosen children pretend to go out for a few minutes and come back home as if they are

Analysis Of Toni Morrison s Song Of Solomon
Victoria Sirianni Ms. Thompson AP ELA 4 21 July 2015 Song of Solomon Producing the plot with a
vivid image and motive allowed Toni Morrison to incorporate numerous literary works to enhance the
allusions in the story. These specific allusions gave readers a more accurate understanding of certain
aspects of the book. As well as this, readers are capable of searching beyond just the surface of what
the words say. The common use of biblical references and myths, as well as other notations, provide a
more in depth and detailed analyzation throughout the entire novel. To start off, Song of Solomon s
title relates to the biblical book of the same name. This emphasizes that the novel addresses more of
an old aged theme. The bible based book focuses on a conversation between two lovers and Toni s
novel is a celebration of the success of earthly love. Morrison also gives her characters biblical names
in order to match them with the well known figures. These characters not only obtain their original
history, but the history that their name carries in the Bible, as well. For example, the biblical character,
Hagar, is Sarah s handmaiden, who bears Sarah s husband a son and is then banished from his sight.
Similar to the previous one mentioned, Morrison s character is often used by Milkman. He takes
advantage of everything she has to offer and uses it for his own selfish benefits. He seems to regret

Gender Aspects Of Gender
The way people look at gender has been changing over the past few years. Gender has always been a
social topic on what boys should do and what girls should do. Although, with the new generation, I
have seen people break the mold of gender stereotypes. Over the years, I have seen many classmates
and schools changing the status quo of gender. My generation has a different opinion on gender
stereotypes than my grandparents and even my parents. Gender stereotypes are changing with each
generation, whether it be through sports or the occupations people have.
My Grandparents went to high school in the mid 1950 s and women were not allowed to play many
sports back then. My Grandma told me that they thought the girls would get hurt. My grandmother
played basketball and they didn t let the girls cross the half court line. They had three girls on each
side so that they did not over exert themselves. Nowadays, girls can play almost any sport they want.
Hockey is a good example of how girls can play manlier sports. When people think of hockey, they
think of it more as a manlier sport, like football. There are so many girls that play hockey with the
same intensity as when men play. A good friend of mine, who went to the same middle school as me,
played on a travel hockey team. If you saw her, you would never expect her to play hockey. She
always wore dresses and has her hair done. She is not your typical hockey playing girl. After seeing
her play in a game, my impression of her changed. She was very physical when going after other
players with the puck. She would hit other players into the glass now and then. She could handle other
players hitting her pretty hard as well. She got rocked by one player and just got back up on her skates
and went back into the fray. Now, I believe she is the toughest girl I know. She completely breaks the
mold of the small, frail, girl stereotype.
Another example of girls playing a manlier sport would be football. I went to an all boys catholic high
school, and right next door to us was our sister school. Every year, the seniors and juniors would be
allowed to compete in powder puff football. They would practice all summer and after school in
September for a month. Some of the guys from our

Gay Women And The Stereotypes Of Lesbians And Lesbians
Everyone knows a woman that dresses feminine in long, flowy dresses, bright pink lipstick, and
towering high heels. Personally, my usual attire is composed of a flower headband and a pastel yellow
sundress. People typically expect straight women to uphold a certain feministic standard and
anticipate that lesbian women appear masculine. Lesbians are stereotyped to have short hair, wear
striped flannels and boyfriend jeans, and not wear makeup. Masculine appearing women are assumed
to be gay; however, there is a group of lesbian women who dress femininely. Lipstick lesbians, or LLs,
are a part of the feminine lesbian community. The LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender)
community has built up recently and an abundance of stereotypes as well. Contrary to popular belief,
lesbians are not bound to one appearance. We as humans should have the opportunity to express
ourselves in whichever way we desire. Similar to everyone else, lesbians appearances do not have to
be strictly based off of who they are attracted to. Lipstick lesbians positively influence lesbian
stereotypes because they defy masculine appearance and are unafraid to express themselves. By
recognizing that lesbians who dress femininely are still lesbians, individuals can avoid awkward and
uncomfortable situations by being respectful and acknowledging their boundaries.
Lipstick lesbians commonly dress in a feminine fashion, are polite and gentle people, and are not
afraid to fight back against rude people. LLs

The Rise Of Women In France Essay
The Rise of Women in French Society
During the Middle Ages, French society, along with the rest of Europe, revolved around the warrior
class. In order to gain land and power nobles gave their services in the military and lived violent
lifestyles. Treatment toward women during this period was harsh. quot;In a society of landed nobility
dispersed fairly loosely across the country in their castles and estates, the likelihood of a
preponderance of the man over the woman and thus of a more or less unconcealed male dominance, is
very great. quot; (Elias, Page 325.) Men beat their wives and typically had little respect for them.

The bourgeoisie had grown and taken power away from the warrior class of nobility. quot;Thereby the
equilibrium is slowly established which gives optimal power to one man, the central ruler. The kings
during this era created a luxurious palace court system that brought families and nobility together in
close proximity. Under the watchful eye of society, men were less prone to physical violence and the
importance of the woman grew. quot;Social life quot; began to grow and more importance was placed
upon literature and the fine arts, skills that women had long been schooled in. In the past, it was the
women and clergy who had been taught to read and write, as there had not been much importance for
it during the days of wars and political unrest. quot; For the master of the court, his function as knight
and military leader was still the primary one; his education too was that of a warrior centered upon the
wielding of arms. For just this reason the women surpassed him in the sphere of peaceful society.
quot; (Page 326 7.) At the end of the Middle Ages, women became assets to their families. The
battlefield for power had changed from bloodshed to skill. A daughter who possessed great social
graces could bring a family closer to the monarchy and insure it s members a greater ranking in court
life.
Emphasis began to be placed on beauty and love, an emotion virtually void in the warrior society.

portray real life situations , and because of this I feel that it is excellent if these situations become
realistic as the children will already have experience with the situation. Drama makes immediate
something that is distant and vice versa Our lecturer said this and it really grasped my attention and I
believe this really signifies just how important it is to discover empathy through drama. In our
workshops conflict and tension were created in or participation of drama we as students had to resolve
this conflict and as a result we gained experiences on how to resolve this problems in real life, If this
was achieved with children in a drama lesson it would most definitely coincide with the idea of

For my interviews I have asked 2 of the best of animation teachers in western P.A., ( in my opinion )
John Kelly and Jared Taylor ( from the Toonsuim and Edinboro University respectively). According to
both Kelly And Taylor you need about 3 to 4 years of schooling in either visual arts or animation.
Kelly was an animator for Disney and now is a teacher of the subject. As stated in a previous
paragraph the pay is around 30 to $63,000 in total. My second question I asked the two gentlemen, is
if there is any math involved in the job, the answer is no. I asked this question because having Spina
Bifida, my math skills are subpar to the rest of my peers .There may not be any math involved in my
job, but there is a timing which I l need to improve

A Summary Of The Lansdowne Athlete
December 6, 2017
Ancient sculptures bring on endless philosophical arguments regarding what is an appropriate form of
perfection, defined as a fit body guided by a keen mind. This paper will approach a visual essence of
the sculpture of The Lansdowne Athlete, by Lysippos, Rome 340 330 B.C. marble after a bronze
original, that I viewed at the LACMA. This sculpture is located in the left wing of Greek exhibition
Building, 3rd floor. I selected this sculpture as an example of an idealized body. Therefore, I will be
explaining the historical background of the sculpture and address why I think it would make a good
addition to our text. I will provide an analogy with other sculpture of idealized body from our
textbook chapter 12 on Mind and Body mainly. I will impart more information about the essence of
idealized human form as well as cultural ideals during this time period in Greece.
The Lansdowne Athlete at the LACMA is an example of a well developed ideal body and carefully
controlled proportions to all body parts. This sculpture is a Roman copy of an original by Lysippos
made in the 1st century. It is a marble statue of 75inches in height. The figure is in the contrapposto
stance common of the style at the time and is taking a step forward. The figure still has integrity even
though it has a few missing parts. Its face, which is important, is more or less intact and the standing
upright with its impression of movement still visible. The missing arms, if they were

Compare And Contrast Rose Red And Haunting Of Hill House
The movie Rose Red and the book Haunting of Hill House have a lot of things in common. In the
beginning of the Haunting of Hill House or somewhere in the book they would talk about the rocks
falling on the momś house. Just like in the beginning and in the end of the movie Rose Red Annie
would make the rocks fall on the house because she was mad. In the beginning the dog bit Annie and
second she was mad at the ghosts. like how the house keeps on growing until the current person that
owns the house says that it s complete or otherwise it will keep on growing and killing people, eating
the people that have powers or take control of them. Then the house forces the person to kill their

Joyce and Eleanor are the same person more or less because in the end they are crazy and they both
realize what they are doing with themselves and they regretted what they did, but the other thing is in
the first place they are both friendly to the other characters like Joyce to Annie and Eleanor to
Theodora but in the end they hate each . The other character that relates to Joyce is Doctor Montague
not because they were both scientists but because they wanted to test out there theory to see if the
house is alive or not but if they weren t alive then Joyce would lose her job and Montague would find
other haunted places to do research and other kind of things.Steve and Luke are the same Characters
they both were only there because they were only used to get around the house they also relate is that
they were there when they were little kids and now that they are older they only stay at the house
because they are interested about the house and they want to learn more about the paranormal
activities and stuff like that. Annie and Eleanor are related like they both because they both have
special powers and they are the key to the house so they are special in their own way and own of them
makes it out alive because eleanor ended out getting controlled by the house and she ran to her car and

Stimulus And Brand Selection
This study is an attempt to fill the gaps identified in the available literature on the association of
stimulus and brand selection. The present study measured the stimulus and its impact on brand
selection or purchase decision in the Indian online retail. To assess this relationship, different models
have been designed to investigate and measure the stimulus. For investigation purposes, a qualitative
model has been developed and presented in Chapters earlier. This model prioritized the various factors
of stimulus in context of the online retail. Next to this, the measurement aspect of stimulus was
addressed by the development of a quantitative model shown in Chapters earlier. This model has been
used to develop and validate the scale for the measurement of stimulus in the Indian online retail. The
present study comprises of the following: A broad and thorough literature review has been conducted
on the association of stimulus and brand purchase decision. The literature review consists of the
evolution and definitions of individual, technology and societal groups and brand purchase decision, a
classification of available literature, and various factors which constitute Stimulus in S O R model.
Based on this basis of this review, gaps, and a research agenda was identified which provided a sound
base to conduct the present study. A literature review of the methodologies used in this field of study
was also conducted. These methodologies were Analytical Hierarchy Process

Prognosis of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Hodgkin s Lymphoma Hodgkin s Lymphoma, also known as Hodgkin s disease, is a cancer that
effects part of the immune system. The lymphatic system is knots of tissue. Lymph nodes work as tiny
filters, straining out foreign organisms and cells. The lymphatic system provides important white
blood cells called lymphocytes. The body has a reaction to infection that may cause lymph nodes to
swell and get tender As Hodgkin s Lymphoma progresses it makes it more difficult for the body to
fight infection. Lymphoma occurs when the lymph node cells begin to multiply uncontrollably; this
can lead to producing malignant cells that have the ability to invade other tissues throughout the body.
It is common in two different age groups 15 35 and older adults over age 50. It is slightly more
common in males, and Caucasians. There has been some progress in treating Hodgkin s lymphoma,
most people with this diagnosis will be long term survivors.
Prognosis continues to improve for people with Hodgkin s.
Although the exact cause of Hodgkin s disease is not known, there has been a connection to
The Epstein Barr, this is a virus that causes infectious mononucleosis (Mono). The presence of this
virus can be found in 20% 80% of these tumors.
Same sex siblings or an identical twin of someone who has Hodgkin s are at high risk of developing
the disease. Also children of a parent who has had Hodgkin s are also at high risk.
Signs and symptoms may include, painless swelling of lymph nodes in your

Strategies to recruit and retention of students Every university adopts some strategies for recruitment
and retention of international students. Those strategies are according to university resources and
programs.
Students as Resources
Students are a real resource of an institution and can help a university in the planning of strategic plan
for recruitment of more students. All students have gone through the procedure of recruitment at a
university and they know well which factors were motivational. They can tell reasons why students
chose those programs and what features need to be changed. They can tell what kind of
communication will work with another student from their home country because they have lived in
that culture so they know more than any other person. Using the student endorsement for recruitment
is words of mouth tacit which more successful practice is. Continuously taking feedback from
international population helps to know what they want and what they are expecting from a program?
Why do they like university? A focus group or survey once a semester will help to improve.
Leadership, Campus Involvement, and Employment Involvement is very necessary for the process to
make international students experience more valuable, and it is

Glass Blowing in the First Century
The production and creation of beautiful art pieces using glass only began after glass blowing was
used in the First Century BC. Two unique artists have used this medium to create work that is both
beyond its time and surpasses many other glass works. The first artist, Louis Comfort Tiffany, was the
son of the founder of Tiffany and Company, Charles Lewis Tiffany. His work focuses on aesthetic
beauty while encompassing the techniques he established throughout his career. The second artist,
Beverly Fishman, is an artist from Philadelphia who has not only made a name for herself, but has
also accepted the Artist in Residence position at the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Both of these
individuals have a strong passion and drive that elevates their work to the next level. The difference
between the work of these two artists lies in the conceptual realm. Connecting work to outside
concepts gives the artist versatility, while aesthetically pleasing work reaches the viewer on a much
deeper level. Both of these strategies allow the artist to express themself, but have profoundly
different influences on the receptive audience. Louis Comfort Tiffany is known for his array of works,
which includes both glass and non glass pieces. He not only designed stained glass windows, lamps,
glass mosaics and blown glass, but he is also known for his work in ceramics, enamels, jewelry and
metalwork. The piece by Tiffany that will be the main focus of this argument is his Flower form Vase
from 1910.

Comparing A Streetcar Named Desire And The Glass Menagerie The text from A Streetcar Named Desire and The Glass Menagerie, both written by the renowned author Tennessee Williams, deal with the topics of life s pressures, and the desire to succeed in everything we do. Oftentimes, people place unrealistic expectations upon us and set the bar higher than we can achieve, or even want to reach. People end up developing mechanisms to deal with these stresses and tensions that have been created (Billington 2016). We find other unhealthy habits and vices to supplant the reality we are trying to escape, that hopefully will take away this pain and suffering we are experiencing. In both of these plays, the characters are not able to live in their present realities. Two of the main characters are closely listate. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also the statistical test may reveal no significant difference between groups, in this case we will re construct the groups based on manipulation of three parameters, and we will revisit the range of variation for each parameter. 2. • 6. William Browning And Elizabeth Barrett Browning Essay The Two Authors Different Perspective Literatures in the Victorian Era Many authors are influenced by the society, culture, politic and economy during their period. Therefore, their literary works usually describe the condition of their period directly or indirectly. The two authors, Roberts Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, also expose the culture and the condition of the society of the Victorian era through their works. The authors are married couple authors of the Victorian era. Roberts Browning s a typical literary work is My Last Duchess. Elizabeth Barrett Browning s one of the most famous work is Aurora Leigh. In the two poems, the authors mainly focus on the different gender roles. Even though the two Victorian era literatures, Aurora Leigh and My Last Duchess, demonstrate the social issue, which is a sexual discrimination during the Victorian era, each author emphasizes the seriousness of the issue by using different perspectives on women s roles and positions. My Last Duchess, which was written by Roberts browning demonstrates the horrible condition of the Victorian society by exposing the author s perspective on the genders role in the Victorian era. The book, the literature of the Victorian era, defines the poem a perfect picture of cold blooded heartlessness, a thing possible in any age though fortunately (Hugh 427). The poem clearly shows the dreadful social condition for a woman in the Victorian era. According to the author, Michael O Neill, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On the book, Silver expands this idea and notes that a fox know many things because it s likely to intensely question itself and gather information from a variety of sources. A hedgehog, on the other hand, will be more likely to rely on a single source of conventional wisdom. This idea encourage us to be resourceful like a fox, so we can be a more valuable contributor during the collaborative process. Collaboration is typically understood as a process in which multiple people provide input .However, collaboration can also be performed on an individual basis by collecting the information we need to shape to temper our projections and plans. Lesson number four is polls become more accurate the closer you get to the Election Day . This idea encourage us to continually update our forecast especially when we are approaching a decision point. The farther into the future you forecast, the less accurate your forecasts are likely to be. The closer you can update your forecasts to the point of decision, the more you improve your chances for accuracy. But, we need to notice if we wait too long to share our forecasts in order to ensure maximum accuracy, then we are defeating the purpose of the forecasting process. The optimal time to commit to a forecast is when a decision has to be made based on that forecast. For example, a commitment to production or to a purchase. We need ... Matthew Doublets The issued with the doublets In the Matthew s account of the Gospel as well as in the Luke s there are several duplicates of the same text, while in the Gospel of Mark the same text appears only once, one of this examples is found in Mark, in the parable of the measure, (Mk. 4:25[NRSV]). The same declaration, almost word for word appears twice in separate occasions in Matthew verses 13:12 and in 25:29 and in Luke 8:18 as well as in 19:26. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... More than a few explanations have been given. First of all, scholars have contemplated the idea that there is a possibility that there were two men in each occasion and that Mark has left one demoniac out of the picture. Since Mark, is said by scholars to have written at least two decades before any of the evangelicals. While this might be understood in Mark 10:46, when he mentions by name one of the blind men or perhaps only one of them continued to followed Jesus, this is more of a problem in this passage. What would have been the reason for the author of Mark to leave one person out? In the case of the two demoniacs is it not more frightening and more dangerous and therefore a more significant of a miracle to be challenged by two demonized men than one? It is difficult to understand why the two Mark and Luke, who of course may have never read Matthew, would be so consistently different without any reason or hidden agendas. Secondly, some experts have disputed that it is merely the nature of miracle stories to grow in the telling. This elucidation is totally unsophisticated and simplistic. Moreover, if the stories were overstated, why the number would always be two? Why would it not some of the stories have had two or four, perhaps seven or six? Introduction: The issue of predation amoung most animals in not uncommon and has been the leading reasons for increased survival pressures. As a result many animals have evolved various different predatory strategies, these specific traits assist in increasing a species chances for survival. Phrynosoma hernandesi is a species of lizard in the family Phrynosomatidae, and is a highly variable species. Characteristics such as colour, pattern, and size vary based on its geographical location. Short horned lizards such as the Phrynosoma hernandesi, have settled all across North America, particularly in Saskatchewan and Alberta Canada as well as Montana, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico. The Phrynosoma hernandesi favours the desert environment and generally resides in the semi arid environments of North and Central America, much like a majority of short horned lizards that have settled throughout Mexico and along northeastern Sonora, Chihuahua, and Durango. Joan of Arc was unlike any other women of the time and refused to be oppressed. Joan of Arc was born on January 6, 1412 in Lorraine to French peasants. In this line, for instance, a magnificent tree high above the skyline, destroyed both by a visual bolt of lightening and a booming crack of thunder can be seen. Examples of imagery are abundant throughout Piercy s entire poem. As readers look at the poem externally, the imagery is directly related to a vision of the bonsai tree. With further internal analysis, it becomes evident that there is slight ambiguity within these lines, lending themselves to have connotative meanings. In such a way, the sense provoking images the writer includes relate not only to describing a bonsai tree, but also to explaining the role of women within society. Specifically, the double meanings of the imagery can be deciphered through examination of the writer s use of metaphors. Each of the descriptions about the bonsai tree can be applied to women. Analysis Of Toni Morrison s Song Of Solomon Victoria Sirianni Ms. Thompson AP ELA 4 21 July 2015 Song of Solomon Producing the plot with a vivid image and motive allowed Toni Morrison to incorporate numerous literary works to enhance the allusions in the story. These specific allusions gave readers a more accurate understanding of certain aspects of the book. As well as this, readers are capable of searching beyond just the surface of what the words say. The common use of biblical references and myths, as well as other notations, provide a more in depth and detailed analyzation throughout the entire novel. To start off, Song of Solomon s title relates to the biblical book of the same name. This emphasizes that the novel addresses more of an old aged theme. The bible based book focuses on a conversation between two lovers and Toni s novel is a celebration of the success of earthly love. Morrison also gives her characters biblical names in order to match them with the well known figures. These characters not only obtain their original history, but the history that their name carries in the Bible, as well. For example, the biblical character, Hagar, is Sarah s handmaiden, who bears Sarah s husband a son and is then banished from his sight. Similar to the previous one mentioned, Morrison s character is often used by Milkman. He takes advantage of everything she has to offer and uses it for his own selfish benefits. • 38. Gender Aspects Of Gender The way people look at gender has been changing over the past few years. Gender has always been a social topic on what boys should do and what girls should do. Although, with the new generation, I have seen people break the mold of gender stereotypes. Over the years, I have seen many classmates and schools changing the status quo of gender. My generation has a different opinion on gender stereotypes than my grandparents and even my parents. Gender stereotypes are changing with each generation, whether it be through sports or the occupations people have. My Grandparents went to high school in the mid 1950 s and women were not allowed to play many sports back then. My Grandma told me that they thought the girls would get hurt. My grandmother played basketball and they didn t let the girls cross the half court line. They had three girls on each side so that they did not over exert themselves. Nowadays, girls can play almost any sport they want. Hockey is a good example of how girls can play manlier sports. When people think of hockey, they think of it more as a manlier sport, like football. There are so many girls that play hockey with the same intensity as when men play. A good friend of mine, who went to the same middle school as me, played on a travel hockey team. If you saw her, you would never expect her to play hockey. She always wore dresses and has her hair done. She is not your typical hockey playing girl. After seeing her play in a game, my impression of her changed. She was very physical when going after other players with the puck. She would hit other players into the glass now and then. She could handle other players hitting her pretty hard as well. She got rocked by one player and just got back up on her skates and went back into the fray. Now, I believe she is the toughest girl I know. She completely breaks the mold of the small, frail, girl stereotype. Another example of girls playing a manlier sport would be football. I went to an all boys catholic high school, and right next door to us was our sister school. Every year, the seniors and juniors would be allowed to compete in powder puff football. They would practice all summer and after school in September for a month. Some of the guys from our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Personally, my usual attire is composed of a flower headband and a pastel yellow sundress. People typically expect straight women to uphold a certain feministic standard and anticipate that lesbian women appear masculine. Lesbians are stereotyped to have short hair, wear striped flannels and boyfriend jeans, and not wear makeup. Masculine appearing women are assumed to be gay; however, there is a group of lesbian women who dress femininely. Lipstick lesbians, or LLs, are a part of the feminine lesbian community. The LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community has built up recently and an abundance of stereotypes as well. Contrary to popular belief, lesbians are not bound to one appearance. We as humans should have the opportunity to express ourselves in whichever way we desire. Similar to everyone else, lesbians appearances do not have to be strictly based off of who they are attracted to. Lipstick lesbians positively influence lesbian stereotypes because they defy masculine appearance and are unafraid to express themselves. By recognizing that lesbians who dress femininely are still lesbians, individuals can avoid awkward and uncomfortable situations by being respectful and acknowledging their boundaries. Lipstick lesbians commonly dress in a feminine fashion, are polite and gentle people, and are not afraid to fight back against rude people. LLs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to gain land and power nobles gave their services in the military and lived violent lifestyles. Treatment toward women during this period was harsh. quot;In a society of landed nobility dispersed fairly loosely across the country in their castles and estates, the likelihood of a preponderance of the man over the woman and thus of a more or less unconcealed male dominance, is very great. quot; (Elias, Page 325.) Under the watchful eye of society, men were less prone to physical violence and the importance of the woman grew. quot;Social life quot; began to grow and more importance was placed upon literature and the fine arts, skills that women had long been schooled in. In the past, it was the women and clergy who had been taught to read and write, as there had not been much importance for it during the days of wars and political unrest. quot; For the master of the court, his function as knight and military leader was still the primary one; his education too was that of a warrior centered upon the wielding of arms. This paper will approach a visual essence of the sculpture of The Lansdowne Athlete, by Lysippos, Rome 340 330 B.C. marble after a bronze original, that I viewed at the LACMA. This sculpture is located in the left wing of Greek exhibition Building, 3rd floor. I selected this sculpture as an example of an idealized body. The lymphatic system is knots of tissue. Lymph nodes work as tiny filters, straining out foreign organisms and cells. The lymphatic system provides important white blood cells called lymphocytes. The body has a reaction to infection that may cause lymph nodes to swell and get tender As Hodgkin s Lymphoma progresses it makes it more difficult for the body to fight infection. Lymphoma occurs when the lymph node cells begin to multiply uncontrollably; this can lead to producing malignant cells that have the ability to invade other tissues throughout the body. It is common in two different age groups 15 35 and older adults over age 50. It is slightly more common in males, and Caucasians. Two unique artists have used this medium to create work that is both beyond its time and surpasses many other glass works. His work focuses on aesthetic beauty while encompassing the techniques he established throughout his career. The second artist, Beverly Fishman, is an artist from Philadelphia who has not only made a name for herself, but has also accepted the Artist in Residence position at the Cranbrook Academy of Art.
