The Unique History Of The Negro Baseball Leagues
In this essay we will take a look at the unique history of the Negro Baseball Leagues. We will discuss
how they were an integral part of the African American culture and what they meant to their
communities. We will also discuss some of the more famous players of the Negro Leagues as well as
take a look at what the impact of Jackie Robinson being the first African American to be signed to a
professional Major League team was and how it affected the future of baseball.
Black American men were banned from being able to play professional baseball from the early 1900 s
till the late 1940 s. This sparked the creation of what was known as the Negro Leagues. The first
successful Negro League was formed in 1920 by Andrew Rube Foster (https://
negroleaguebaseball.com), but suspended operations in 1931 due to the financial hardships associated
with the Great Depression (Baseball: An Illustrated History, G. Ward, Page 87). As the Great
Depression ended and America got closer to WWII, the popularity of the Negro leagues grew. The
creation of the Negro National League and the Negro American League represented the two premier
Negro leagues in the 1930 s and 1940 s. They were just as organized as their white counterparts. They
played a 140 game schedule, had their own all star games, as well as their own World Series
(Baseball: An Illustrated History, G. Ward, Page 247). The Negro leagues flourished during WWII.
The white players of the professional teams were being drafted and their

Fluorometholone And Other Corticosteroids For Inflammation
FLUOROMETHOLONE AND OTHER CORTICOSTEROIDS FOR INFLAMMATION
SUMMARY: Cap like structures that appear on the top of both kidneys are referred as adrenal glands.
As they are located above the kidney, they are also referred as suprarenal glands .1In the transverse
section of adrenal gland, two regions can be identified medulla and cortex.1The medulla region is
innervated by sympathetic nervous system which helps in production and release of two important
neurotransmitters Epinephrine and Norepinephrine.1 The cortex is responsible for synthesis and
release of three different hormones namely mineralocorticoids, glucocorticoids and androgens.1
Mineralocorticoids and glucocorticoids are collectively referred as corticosteroids. ... Show more

During this trial and error procedure of adding and removing different functional groups, structure
activity relationship was established which provided us knowledge about the contribution of different
functional groups towards efficacy of the drug or towards unwanted effects. Certain molecular
modifications helped in achieving targeted drug delivery for different skin disorders and ophthalmic
conditions. The data obtained from the preclinical and clinical studies serve as a strong evidence for
effectiveness of these synthetic corticosteroids.
STRUCTURE ANALYSIS: Fluorometholone is a synthetic topical corticosteroid consisting of four
fused ring systems out of which three rings are of cyclohexane and one of cyclopentane. The three
cyclohexane rings are named A, B and C respectively. Figure 1: Structure of Fluorometholone
These three rings form the per hydro derivative of Phenanthrene to which the fourth cyclopentane ring
or D ring is fused. Hence, we can also say it is cyclopenta[a]phenanthrene derivative.3The steroid
nucleus can be classified into several classes depending on the chemical constituents. If we analyze
the structure of Fluromethalone, it specifically contains the Pregnane4 Steroid Nucleus consisting of
21 carbons in its skeleton. Moreover, the pregnane nucleus is a planar ring system with two stereo
isomeric forms depending on the spatial arrangement of hydrogen on C 5. Both α F at C 9 and = at C

Persuasive Speech Logos
No matter what discomforts and expenses you had to bear to come here, there will be seven minutes
tomorrow morning that will make you feel it was worth it, said a NASA guide to a group of guests on
the day of the rocket launch. The purpose of each of these articles have large distinctions between
each other. The first article, In Event of Moon Disaster, by William Safire, is meant to comfort the
audience. The second article, The July 16, 1969, Launch: A Symbol of Man s Greatness, by Ayn Rand,
is meant to describe the amount of happiness and pride the nation as a whole felt that day. The purpose
of these articles is also tremendously impacted by how the authors present the subject to the audience.
Because the speaker of the second article, Ayn Rand, was present in this particular occasion there is an
intimate influence on the text from the speaker. Both of these texts appeal to the audience with ethos
considering they are both prevalent people in society. The President has automatic ethos, and the
author also has ethos with her position as a novelist. On top of that both articles appeal to the audience
with logos because it is very logical that the nation would either be upset and mourning the case of a
loss, or the nation would be jubilant and elated with the successful landing on the moon. Lastly, the
articles appeal to pathos in that they trap the american hearts with either sadness or happiness. The
articles hook into the reader s emotion through talking about families mourning and using figurative
language about the image of the launch. Both of these texts are equally effective in completing their
purposes.
Furthermore, the purpose in these two articles are completely variant, but they still have similarities.
The first article, In Event of Moon Disaster, is just the President trying to comfort the American
people and maybe even those who have theoretically died. The President is reaching out and
reassuring his people that America will not give up, and that these two men were not lost in vain.
These two men willingly made a sacrifice which lead to their death, according to this speech, making
this mission unsuccessful. Even though Nixon is not the author of the speech, he adds ethos to the
speech

reasons why they began their app development journey in the first place. It is no longer a great deal to
have an application or lots of application just for the sake of having it. The tremendous impact of
mobile has been recognized, and it is now being evaluated as a vital part of the business, but how
mobile application is being promoted has to be reassessed. In the past, a lot of companies built their

How Parchman Reflects The Intertwined Themes Of Reform And...
Analyzing how Parchman reflects the intertwined themes of reform and race, we must look back into
the history of the state, to see what caused the instability that led to reform and the role that citizens
played. The Civil War is just ending and the South lost not only did they lose the battle , but they also
lost their family members, homes, land and most of all for some they lost their slaves. During the war
Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed all slaves in territories that
opposed the Union. Oshinsky paints a beautiful picture of the scenes that had unfolded when he wrote
that, Few could escape the consequences of this war. Mississippi was bankrupt. Its commerce and
transportation had collapsed. The railroads and levees lay in ruins. Local governments barely
functioned. (p.12) The world that many white southerners had come to know was now destroyed.
Being placed under these conditions, outraged many white southerners. Adding fuel to the fire, the
fact of knowing that former slaves were now equal to even the poorest of whites, did not set well. The
author states that, this hatred had many sources. The ex slave had become a scapegoat for the South s
humiliating defeat. John F.H. Claiborne, Mississippi s most prominent historian, blamed him for
causing the war and for helping the North to prevail. ( Oshinsky, 1996, p. 14) Carl Schdrz, a reformer
from the North, became very concerned about how blacks would be treated, with rising sense of

Comparing The Loss Of Innocence In Wild Swans By Alice...
Both Wild Swans by Alice Munro and Flowers by Alice Walker explore the loss of innocence in
young women. Women have historically been seen as delicate and in need of protection. It is no
wonder that the loss of a woman s virginity is referred to as deflowering, comparing a woman s sexual
release to the death of beautiful, fragile nature. A woman s innocence is coveted, as people go to great
lengths to shield them from both the reality of death and the pleasures of sex. The loss of certain kinds
of innocence, specifically sexual, can be seen as shameful for a woman, as opposed to the masculine
pride a man may feel from the same events. Through the choice of point of view, plot, and tone,
Walker depicts Myop in Flowers as finding more peace in her loss of innocence than Rose does in
Wild Swans. Walker tells Myop s story in a third person omniscient point of view, but limits greatly
the extent to which she discloses Myop s inner feelings. Only once does Walker refer to Myop as
unafraid (Walker 76), giving us some insight into her thoughts. However, most of the story is told
from a rather detached point of view, mostly noting Myop s actions and the setting around her. Myop s
thoughts, then, must be gleaned from the events of the story. One sees in how Myop responds to the
corpse casually plucking a flower from beside his head that while the corpse has stripped her of her
innocence, she has become more mature through her experience. Myop understands and accepts

The Craft Essay
The Craft (1996), directed by Andrew Fleming, is a film that depicts Sarah Bailey s journey of
friendship, witchcraft and self actualization. As the newcomer in town at a quintessential school, she is
quickly out casted; however, eventually finds solace in the Eastwick Bitches: Nancy, Bonnie and
Rochelle. The quartet bands together to strengthen their witchcraft, but soon find themselves
overwhelmed by the ramifications of their powers. In the article New Religious Movements, by Paul

For example, how some of the characters, specifically Bonnie, use their supernatural abilities clearly
render down women to a stereotypical archetype that is solely appearance and boy obsessed. Or as the
text references as the notion of the beautiful witch [being] best understood within the context of
misogynistic discourse. As the girls progress from natural magic, us[ing] things like herbs, crystals
and candles to high magic, the transformation of the self through contact with the Divine, or
specifically in the film the deity Manon, the more they perpetuate materialistic characteristics. Bonnie,
the initially timid and kind hearted character, becomes confident and powerful once she eradicates the
burn scars that once covered her body. This stark transformation is extremely detrimental to the
progression of feminism because it perpetuates the idea that topical beauty is the only key to attention,
power and high levels of confidence for a woman. This depiction of beauty standards reinforces the
notion that traditionally unattractive women have no voice and that attractive women are the winners
of society those that curate male attention and power and exude confidence. Therefore, The Craft
(1996), exemplifies the perpetuation of falsified beauty standards for women via its consequential use
of natural and high

Which Product and Why? The High octane energy drink market in the United States and
internationally has experienced impressive growth of more than 240%, from 2004 to 2009.vii Data
shows that consumption of these drinks is rapidly growing which positions the 5 Hour ENERGY line
of products for tremendous expansions and growth into international markets such as the Europe, Asia
and South America. The product owns roughly 90% of the energy drink market in the United States
after only 8 years and up until recently was only marketed and sold in the United States and Canada.
The majority of the success this product has had in the North America can be attributed to the fact that
it is the first to market and is considered the original energy shot. The brand has been very successful
at keeping the competition at bay, as many similar products have come and gone over the past 8 years.
Market position is only one aspect to why 5 Hour ENERGY has been able to achieve a 90% market
share in the energy drink segment. Data shows that North American consumers have been very
receptive to the benefits of the product. 5 hour

The Public Library Located On Learning Centre Where The...
DESCRIPTION
Burns defines the therapeutic milieu as an environment or learning centre where the child and the
student interact (Burns, 2006, p. 10). The therapeutic milieu, as discussed in this paper, is the
Pickering Public Library located on Glenanna Road in Pickering Ontario. It is right across from the
mall, and it is easily accessible. This is a public library for all ages. However, the focus will be the
therapeutic milieu that is the children s service area in the public library.
In library there are sections that divide the children s, youth, and adults by having a sign above the
entrance of each section. According to Burns the way in which children experience life in their
physical surroundings contributes directly to their development and sense of worth (Burns, 2006, p.
9). The physical milieu considered here is the children s service section in the library. The children s
section is very open, and it painted a bright green and blue to respesent the sky and clouds. It also has
a painted mural of a woodsy s area as if you were outside in a forest type setting along with a
cardboard tree. There are a lot of tables and chairs that are at their height for young children. The floor
is carpeted, and there is a rug that has a pond design on it, and they also have log cushions for children
to sit on as well as couches. There are lots of bookselves surrounding the whole room, though there is
limited toys, they do have an activity wall for children to play with. The

What Is John Locke s Defense Of Private Property
John Locke was a revolutionary thinker at his time for including the defense of private property in his
Second Treatises on Civil Government in 1690. Locke sought to defend private property because he
believed that private property was a natural right of man, because he said that every man has the right
to sustain and preserve themselves with anything that nature affords to them Locke also wished to
defend private property because it was the gateway to common consent and the formation of his
theory of government. Locke s definition of private property is vastly different then how we think of it
today, Locke defines private property as: whatever a man removes from the state of nature which he
then mixes with his own labor and combines it with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Locke acknowledges that whatever man does decide to take into his possession that it must not go to
waste because then he would be guilty of destroying property that would that would have commonly
belonged to others. This part of the argument appears weak because today many people take
possession of things and let them go to waste even though it could have been theoretically someone
else s property. This here lies another issue with Locke s defense of private property is when he
introduces the concept of money. By doing this Locke takes commonly shared property because now
everyone who has access to the most money could buy (take) a majority of the land and hire people to
work it so it would not go to waste and therefore gain a significant amount of control over the
population. This is by far Locke s weakest argument for private property because it forgets to
acknowledge the means a man would use in order to make sure the vast amounts of land that he took
over did not go to waste, and consequently cause him to rob someone else of what could have been

Significance Of The Magna Carta
The Magna Carta was a very influential document that helped to established for the first time the
principle that everybody, including the King, was subject to the law. The rule of law is a concept
fundamental to democratic forms of government and asserts that all, including leaders, must abide by
the laws of the nation. While the Magna Carta does not specifically state that the King is subject to the
rule of law, the document establishes that principle by imposing limits on the King s power. In 1215,
the Magna Carta was a peace treaty between King John and the Barons. First drafted by the
Archbishop of Canterbury to make peace between the unpopular King and rebel Barons, it promised
the protection of church rights, protection for the Barons from illegal imprisonment, access to swift
justice, and limitations on feudal payments to the Crown, which was set to be implemented through a
council of 25 Barons. Neither side stood behind their commitments, and the charter was annulled by
Pope Innocent III, leading to the First Barons War. In retrospect it was a failure, but it provided a new
framework for the relationship between the King and his subjects. After King John s death, his son
Henry III, reissued the document in 1216, stripping some of its more radical content, in an
unsuccessful bid to build political support for the new government. At the end of the war in 1217, it
formed part of the peace treaty agreed at Lambeth, where the document acquired the name Magna

Salvador Dali Research Paper
On May 11, 1904, Salvador Dali was born in a town called Figueres located in Catalonia, Spain. Dali
started painting when he was six years old. He is a surrealist so his paintings are unreal and
unpredictable. His mother was fully supportive about him choosing art as a career. However, his father
supported his talent, but he did not believe that art would not lead to a successful life. Dali was a very
unique individual. He expressed his dreams through fascinating paintings. I have learned a lot about
Dali from this trip. The most interesting thing to me was that he got expelled from college because he
refused to take an exam. He was almost done with college but refused to take the exam anyway. It
showed that he is filled with courage. He is his own person and no one could tell him different. It also
proves to his father that a college degree is not necessary to succeed in life. I admire that courage
because all my life, the people around me would always tell me that education is the only way to
success. It bothers me because they degrade those who do not go to school. Dali did whatever he

When we are awake, we are fully conscious about everything going on so our mind is controlled and
our thinking is limited. We make connections with what we already know, our brains think and do

My Experience At The Multicultural Dinners
Growing up in a small mountain town there wasn t very much diversity to be spoken of. However,
thanks to my parents, I was always encouraged and raised to never judge people who may seem
different from myself because no matter the race, religion, gender or appearance, we are all the same
on the inside. My first memorable experience that opened my eyes to the diversity that this world
contains was in high school during a special event called the multi cultural dinner. The dinner
consisted of different families that brought food, danced cultural dances, brought cultural costumes,
spoke about their religion and more all based on their country and culture. I was blown away at all of
the different things that go into each culture, or religion. I quickly discovered that I loved learning
about cultures that were very different from mine. The more obscure the culture, the more I wanted to
learn. From the connections I made and the people that I met at the Multicultural dinners, I was able to
travel to Spain for a month the summer after high school. I can truly say that is an experience that I
will never forget. I not only had to improve my Spanish, because my language was no longer the
majority but the minority. I also had to learn a lot about the etiquette of the spanish culture, try
different foods and much more. This all caused me to step outside of my comfort zone but also helped
me to grow as person and to cultivate friendships and experiences that will last me a

The Feudal System And The Fall Of Feudalism In Europe
During medieval times the feudal system was practiced in England, the feudal system was a hierarchy
of different social classes where the Church was at the top and working peasants were at the bottom.
The feudal system was introduced in Europe around the 8th century, with the Carolingian dynasty and
Charles Martel granting land to his nobles ( History of Feudalism ). Feudalism does not spread
through Europe until the 10th century, when most European countries become primarily Christian.
The downfall of feudalism appears around the 13th century, feudalism becomes problematic due to the
growth of corruption within the system. The core principles of feudalism begin to fade in exchange for
greed. No longer were fiefs expected to repay the king with an army, but instead with cash.
Additionally it became increasingly harder to become a fief, as the status of a fief was passed down
from family members. While feudalism dissolves into government where the king rules over all and
collects taxes in many countries, feudalism remains in multiple countries, including Germany, Italy,
and France ( History of Feudalism ). The remaining feudalism systems in Europe are dismantled as a
result of the French Revolution or Napoleon in the 15th century.
Church was one of the largest parts of a Medieval citizen s life. Children were expected to learn basic
prayers and attend church each week, working men and women were expected to contribute a large
portion of their earnings towards their taxes for

What Is Sweeteners Into Six Groups
Nutritionists agree that you should eat all forms of sugar in moderation, but almost in the same breath,
they claim that you can eat all the fruit and vegetables your heart desires. Don t they hear themselves?
If we eat all the fruit and vegetables we want, but limit the sugar, isn t that a little contradictory? All
fruits and vegetables have sugar!
It s human nature to want sweets. Even back in the hunter and gatherer days, we consumed some form
of sugar. The danger is that many of the so called sugars or sweeteners we have today are not real
sugar they re man made poisons passed off as sweeteners. In this section, we ll be talking about the
many forms of sugars and sweeteners, including the chemicals that are contained within them and
what they re doing to the human body. Many people think that they re created the same and they re
relatively healthy, but that s not the case.
It s easy to categorize sweeteners into six groups, as follows:
Natural sugars
Sugar alcohols
Caloric sweeteners
Natural zero calorie sweeteners
Modified sugars
Artificial sweeteners
Sugar Alcohols
These forms of sugars can be found naturally, just not in large quantity. They have fewer calories per
gram than sugar, and most importantly, are not known to cause tooth decay. Many sugars alcohol
come with some unpleasant side effects if consumed to excess. They are known to cause bloating and

(iii)Describe the advantages and disadvantages of using this technology.
There are a lot of Advantages with the use of Endoscopy. Endoscopy is a great technology because the
surgery can be done without any incision by using the urethral orifice as the entry point. The surgery
can also be done in a day, meaning you probably only need to stay at the hospital for about a day or

Factors Affecting Labor Productivity And Their Affect...
Q1. Factors affecting Labor productivity and their affect levels? Ans. The Factors that can affect the
labor productivity are discussed below: 1. Overtime is the major factor that can affect the productivity
rate. Planning of expanded work days or weeks surpassing a standard eight hour work day or 40 hour
work week brings down work yield and productivity through physical weariness and poor mental
demeanor. 2. Joint ownership: This happens when work is booked using a similar office or work range
that must be shared or possessed by more than one specialty, and not foreseen in the first offer or plan.
3. Beneficial occupancy: This is an aftereffect of working over, around, or in nearness to different
specialties, proprietor s faculty, or generation hardware, which may bring about commotion
confinements, tidy, or different risky hazard. This may likewise forestall or cause get to limitations. 4.
Errors and Omissions: Increments in errors and omissions affect on work profitability since changes
are then ordinarily performed on a crash premise, out of grouping, cause weakening of supervision, or
whatever other negative effects. 5. Crew size inefficiency: This is the point at which the ideal group
size is modified by including or erasing team individuals. At the point when specialists are included or
erased from a group, it separates the first collaboration and beat of the team and results in loss of
profitability. 6. Logistics: Deficient or poor material handling,

Fair Trade And Its Effects On Society
Fair Trade
Who am I? I work around twelve to fourteen hours every single day, I make barely enough money to
survive, I work in some of the most dangerous conditions in the world, and I am exploited based on
the poverty I live in. I am a garment worker in a developing country. While most people would assume
that this describes slaves a long time ago, this is actually a current issue that we have a much greater
impact on than we may realize. When we purchase clothing from stores such as H M or Forever 21,
with every dollar tank top, or a cheap pair of jeans we purchase, we are encouraging this sort of
modern day slavery. The label for Fair Trade was created in 1988, and over the years, the certification
has changed rapidly and now there are a number of standards companies have to abide by to achieve
the Fair Trade label. Due to this, consumers are now guaranteed of the morality of the product
(Marcovitz page 27). The book Fair Trade describes what Fair Trade really stands for by saying, Fair
Trade displays a radical shift in trade policy by using morality instead of personal and corporate gain
as the motive in the world economy (Fair Trade page 1). This means that instead of getting wealthy
being the main goal for the entrepreneurs at the top of companies, the goal is to help workers and
make the world a more fair place. They do this by paying a living wage to their employees, giving

Why Is Gettysburg A Turning Point
America was deep into the Civil war and the armies were losing faith in themselves. Times were
tough, and both the Confederate and Union were desperate for an end to this war. Many people could
say that The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point for the civil war because of the number of
casualties, the disadvantages the Confederates had, and the Gettysburg address. Most people don t
understand the significance of the Civil war but it was one of the most important and severe wars. The
battle of Gettysburg has been known to be one of the most bloodiest battles, but it has also come to be
one of the most impactive battles. Why is that? Let s go and find out!

The Confederates began with a rough start anyways, their army was way smaller than the Union and
percentage wise, the Confederates had more casualties than the Union. (Doc B) In that same letter
from General Lee to President Davis, Lee says, General Barksdale is killed. Generals Garnett and
Armistead are missing... Generals Pender and Trimble are wounded in the leg, General Hood in the
arm, and General Heth slightly in the head. General Kemper, it is feared, is mortally wounded. Our
losses embrace many other valuable officers and men. (Doc C) This shows that many high ranked
people, such as generals, were lost in the Confederate Army which makes it even harder to fight. (Doc
C) Finally, the Confederates had taken a very big risk when they invaded the Union. In Document A, it
shows that the Confederates were far into Union territory and due to these facts, it would be hard to
retreat from an enemy s territory after such a severe battle. The Union army could risk losing more
men, while the Confederate Army had weakened, the Union Army was determined to finish this war,

African American Country Artist Essay
Similar to Bailey and Pride, Darius Rucker, the third African American country singer to perform
onstage at the Grand Ole Opry, did not enter the country music industry to make a pathway for other
African Americans. Instead, Rucker had a passion for the guitar strumming,
honky tonk melody, which he decided to pursue after his involvement with the rock band, Hootie and
the Blowfish. Rucker said in an interview with the New York Times, Hate mail s been a part of my
life; that s just the way it is. There s still people who don t want me to be singing country music, but I
never want to let anybody tell me what I can do , which portrays Rucker s pride for his culture and
how he does not let racial obscenities interfere with his music (Petrusich). African American artists are
forced to battle through this hate mail and criticism in order to get their faces revealed in the country
spotlight. If an artist lacks determination and vigor, it is hard for them to keep performing in front of
audiences that are familiar with watching and listening to white country performers. Ultimately, many
African Americans steer away from the country genre because they do not want to get discriminated
against for not fitting the typical stereotype associated with being a country artist. All three artists

There s a song, that, when I hear, it recalls things such as my overcoming my depression, my dog
Brownie, a fragrance that I used to wear, and video games that I used to play. But what I m going to

Brownie in my life. The song doesn t really mean anything special to me, because of the lyrics or the
music, but it brings about nostalgia, which is the best feeling to me. I listen to the song to bring back
the good memories and reminisce on the good times when my mom, Pickles (my other dog), and I

books.
(Quote 1) To begin with Reflecting on Success on page 226; this part of the book inspired me. Her
quote If the change we want doesn t happen in our lifetime, does that mean we will never experience
success? For the encouraging boost we get when we know we re moving forward, we need to find
markers of progress we can spot more easily and often. Not only is this quote important but it can be
relevant to many things we live through and foresee daily. For example, if one is trying to achieve a
certain fitness goal, it is not the brightest outlook to just select a very far fetched goal and not track
small points of progress beforehand. In fact, if one was to do such a thing, it would be rather
challenging since frustration and injury would occur before one could even see any results since the
results are not being analyzed closely enough. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

this relativity. I think if we can apply this to the issues and problems within the world of
environmentalism, then hope and change as Macy believes will occur, however, on a relatively
microscopic scale not foreseeable with the human

The Armenian Genocide In The Ottoman Empire
Jayden: Starting in 1915, the Turkish government stimulated a plan to exterminate Armenians living in
the Ottoman Empire. Most sources agree that there were around 2 million Armenians in the Ottoman
Empire at the time of the massacre. By the early 1920s, when the manslaughter and deportations
finally ended, 1.5 million of Turkey s Armenians were deceased, with many more forcefully removed
from their homeland in the Ottoman Empire. The genocide left the Armenian community in a

massacre committed by the Ottoman Empire.
Sam: Today, most history experts and others worldwide label this event as a genocide. A genocide is
the deliberately executing of a large group of people, most of which are of the same ethnic group or

Why? The US fought to keep the South Vietnam, which was democratic, from becoming communist
like North Vietnam. The US felt responsible for protecting the world from communism which is why
they fought.
Difference from other American war it was different because, it wasn t a war for territory, but a war to
destroy an insurgency. This was also the first televised war.
Influence on American sentiment due to the fact that this was the first televised war, people saw how
horrifying the war was right from their television at home. This made Americans further disapprove of
the war making them protest even more.
Influence on literature and music the Vietnam War had an effect on music; musicians started making

They Are A Changin by Bob Dylan. Anti war music posters were advertised and a benefit dance was

regarding the disapproval of the war. The war also had an effect on literature; many writers began

The factors that affect the motion of a falling object
Scientific Knowledge
When an object falls, many forces are acted upon it: gravity, friction, air resistance and, if in the water,
up thrust. When an object starts to fall, gravity over powers air resistance, however, as an object starts
to reach terminal velocity (its maximum speed) the opposite forces start to even out until they are
equal. Some people believe that if the forces are balanced then the object has stopped moving,
meanwhile they could also just be moving at a constant speed (its terminal velocity). All free falling
objects accelerate at the same speed no matter what their mass is (9.8m/s²).
There are two calculations you need for this investigation, no matter which ... Show more content on

This is because the weight increases as the cube of the size of an object, but the air resistance (drag)
only increases as the square of the size, so the bigger the object is, the faster it will fall (or to be more
precise, it has a higher terminal velocity.)
The surface area can affect the motion of the falling object because it is has more air resistance
pushing against it. Because there is more air resistance pushing against a larger object, it will fall so
because it is making the downward force (gravity) weaker since there is now a larger force
counteracting that first force. An object with a larger surface area will fall slower (have a smaller
velocity) because it means there is a large area for air to come into contact with to produce that
counteracting force called air resistance.
Another factor that can affect the motion of a falling object is the viscosity of the liquid that it is
falling through. Viscosity of liquid means how thick the liquid is. The higher the viscosity of the
liquid, the more the liquid resists the object which is falling through it. This means that it will take a
longer amount of time for the object to fall; meaning the velocity of the object will be very small.
A further factor that can affect the motion of a falling object is the height from which the object is
dropped from. Obviously, if an object is dropped from a greater height, it will take longer to reach the
ground than the same object to reach the

Discourse And Narrative Of Sports
Discourse Community Narrative Imagine you were dangling on the edge of a cliff, and the only thing
that was holding you up from falling to your death was a piece of rope with the person or people of
your choice. Do you know who you would want on the other side? A lot of coaches now of days use
this Hold the Rope saying as a motivational speech for their sports team, including my softball
coaches. As a softball player you face a lot of adversity in the sport. There are times when you are in a
hitting slump and can not hit a ball for 3 straight games, or even times when you make routine
mistakes on the field. Through all of this it is difficult not to get down on yourself and it is even harder
to erase that self doubt you create in your head. Softball is a fast paced sport, therefore it is important
to slow the game down. This means to be relaxed and not too anxious for the ball. When a player
becomes too anxious for the ball 9 times out of 10 they end up either missing the ball or they fumble
the ball. All of these reasons is why teamwork is an important aspect to softball. When I was 8 years
old my dad asked me if I wanted to try playing softball on the local recreational league. At the time I
was already playing soccer, basketball, and was also taking karate lessons. Since they were all at
different times of the season I said yes to trying softball out. When I first started playing I didn t

The Mythological Story and The Book of Job
Myths have always played a part in society. Mythological stories not only entertain the reader, but the
mythological story also plays a major role in cultural beliefs. David Bidney writes, The function of a
myth is thus held to be one of validating or justifying cultural beliefs and practices (19). The mythical
tale reiterates the moral practices and beliefs that a culture needs to succeed. There are four purposes
for writing a myth: First myths help in expressing humanity s fear and wonder of nature, myths helps
to explain the creation of the universe, myths gives the readers moral guidelines that should be
followed, and finally, myths gives instructions on how to contend with crises. Because The Book of

Eliphaz s logic tells him that Job is not a righteous and upright man. Despite hearing the argument,
Job still declares that he is not guilty of sinning against the Lord. Habel explains that God pursues him
like a lion so that he can demonstrate his prowess as a hunter. Job is perfectly willing to have the
birds, beast, fish, and earth testify to the truth of God s ways (58). Job is telling his friend that God
does not seek retribution on the earth (natural disasters are not God s way of punishing), but that if
God did, it would be the just and right thing for the Lord to do.
When examining Job, the reader finds that morality plays an intriguing part of the overall message.
Job is a person who lives by example, and he stands for the ideal believer. Job is a man of integrity
and honor. Norman Habel writes, The blamelessness and integrity of Job is a governing theme
introduced in the prologue and developed throughout the subsequent dialogue speeches of the book
(82). The reader finds that Job s integrity is being tested throughout his story, and the examples of how
he lives should be copied by the readers. In this case, the readers should follow Job s devout faith and
unfailing belief in the Lord. The Book of Job provides the moral guidance needed to make this a
mythological story. The reader is guided through stages of Job s psychological life, but because of the

Essay on A Study of Epistemology
A Study of Epistemology
In the sixth century B.C., Homer alludes to a separation of knowledge between the mortals and the
gods. He speaks of both gods and human beings as knowing things creatures of knowledge. However,
there is a great difference in the quality and the scope of the knowledge available to the two groups
(Everson, Pg.12). For the mortal human being the contrast between divine and human knowledge ,
paired with possible deception by the gods, has led him to question the idea of knowledge as it exists
independently, reminding him that there are many things he cannot know for certain (Everson, Pg. 13).

1).
The development of empiricism has fashioned a present model that is widely used today: the reflection
correspondence theory. The premise behind this ideology states knowledge results from a mapping of
external objects that are related to the brain through sensory organs (Heylighen, Pg. 2). Reflection
correspondence understands man will never reach an absolute state of knowledge, but somehow this
inability to distinguish reality from illusion, illustrates thought as a limit of ever more precise
reflections of reality (Heylighen, Pg. 2). Therefore thought, as a physical product of nature, is in itself
a limiting trait.
Another significant theory developed in this period is known as the Kantian synthesis of rationalism
and empiricism. Kant pictured knowledge as emerging from the human organization of perceptual
data on the basis of inborn cognitive structures known as categories (Heylighen, Pg. 2). His belief
parallels, to some extent, that of evolutionary epistemology, which assumes knowledge is constructed
by the subject, or social group as a means of adapting to their environment.
This construction happens through blind variation , or what is understood as the correlation of
different already existing pieces of knowledge. These pieces , or categories (according to Kant), are
selectively retained in combinations that

Those Winter Sundays Figurative Language
In the poem Those Winter Sundays by Robert Hayden, is about a man looking back on his childhood
experience, and relationship with his father. The father of this man was the type of person to do
arduous labor, and be unacknowledged for it. Although the father deserved to not be acknowledged
because he only went through this labor for his obligation and expectations to do so, not out of love,
compassion, nor alacrity of any kind. He was an austere, anodyne, and abusive father but, his son still
believes he could have been a better son by behaving more appropriately, and giving him at least a
time where someone recognized and acknowledged his efforts through gratitude. The son thought that
if he did so, then things between them may have been better. Through the wording, consonance, strong
words, and meaning in the poem Those Winter Days exemplify the poor relationship between father
and son, being bethought by his son as a man leading to his remorse that he could ve been on better
terms with his father.
The word use in this poem is to maximize the tone which came from the poem, including the meaning
behind them as well. In the first stanza the author of the poem used strong adjectives and adverbs. ...

The words using consonance in this poem are clothes, blueblack, cold, cracked, ached, breaking, call,

the father and son in, and the reason for committing to his work. The first stanza connotes that he
wasn t thanked for his rigorous labor, because he wasn t doing out of compassion and affection, but
out of obligation. An individual is only thanked when they do something out of compassion, kindness,
and affection but, his father did not do

  • 2. The Unique History Of The Negro Baseball Leagues In this essay we will take a look at the unique history of the Negro Baseball Leagues. We will discuss how they were an integral part of the African American culture and what they meant to their communities. We will also discuss some of the more famous players of the Negro Leagues as well as take a look at what the impact of Jackie Robinson being the first African American to be signed to a professional Major League team was and how it affected the future of baseball. Black American men were banned from being able to play professional baseball from the early 1900 s till the late 1940 s. This sparked the creation of what was known as the Negro Leagues. The first successful Negro League was formed in 1920 by Andrew Rube Foster (https:// negroleaguebaseball.com), but suspended operations in 1931 due to the financial hardships associated with the Great Depression (Baseball: An Illustrated History, G. Ward, Page 87). As the Great Depression ended and America got closer to WWII, the popularity of the Negro leagues grew. The creation of the Negro National League and the Negro American League represented the two premier Negro leagues in the 1930 s and 1940 s. They were just as organized as their white counterparts. They played a 140 game schedule, had their own all star games, as well as their own World Series (Baseball: An Illustrated History, G. Ward, Page 247). The Negro leagues flourished during WWII. The white players of the professional teams were being drafted and their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During this trial and error procedure of adding and removing different functional groups, structure activity relationship was established which provided us knowledge about the contribution of different functional groups towards efficacy of the drug or towards unwanted effects. Certain molecular modifications helped in achieving targeted drug delivery for different skin disorders and ophthalmic conditions. The data obtained from the preclinical and clinical studies serve as a strong evidence for effectiveness of these synthetic corticosteroids. STRUCTURE ANALYSIS: Fluorometholone is a synthetic topical corticosteroid consisting of four fused ring systems out of which three rings are of cyclohexane and one of cyclopentane. The three cyclohexane rings are named A, B and C respectively. Figure 1: Structure of Fluorometholone These three rings form the per hydro derivative of Phenanthrene to which the fourth cyclopentane ring or D ring is fused. Hence, we can also say it is cyclopenta[a]phenanthrene derivative.3The steroid nucleus can be classified into several classes depending on the chemical constituents. If we analyze the structure of Fluromethalone, it specifically contains the Pregnane4 Steroid Nucleus consisting of 21 carbons in its skeleton. • 4. Persuasive Speech Logos No matter what discomforts and expenses you had to bear to come here, there will be seven minutes tomorrow morning that will make you feel it was worth it, said a NASA guide to a group of guests on the day of the rocket launch. The purpose of each of these articles have large distinctions between each other. The first article, In Event of Moon Disaster, by William Safire, is meant to comfort the audience. The second article, The July 16, 1969, Launch: A Symbol of Man s Greatness, by Ayn Rand, is meant to describe the amount of happiness and pride the nation as a whole felt that day. The purpose of these articles is also tremendously impacted by how the authors present the subject to the audience. Because the speaker of the second article, Ayn Rand, was present in this particular occasion there is an intimate influence on the text from the speaker. Both of these texts appeal to the audience with ethos considering they are both prevalent people in society. The President has automatic ethos, and the author also has ethos with her position as a novelist. On top of that both articles appeal to the audience with logos because it is very logical that the nation would either be upset and mourning the case of a loss, or the nation would be jubilant and elated with the successful landing on the moon. Lastly, the articles appeal to pathos in that they trap the american hearts with either sadness or happiness. The articles hook into the reader s emotion through talking about families mourning and using figurative language about the image of the launch. Both of these texts are equally effective in completing their purposes. Furthermore, the purpose in these two articles are completely variant, but they still have similarities. The first article, In Event of Moon Disaster, is just the President trying to comfort the American people and maybe even those who have theoretically died. The President is reaching out and reassuring his people that America will not give up, and that these two men were not lost in vain. These two men willingly made a sacrifice which lead to their death, according to this speech, making this mission unsuccessful. Even though Nixon is not the author of the speech, he adds ethos to the speech ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. How Parchman Reflects The Intertwined Themes Of Reform And... Analyzing how Parchman reflects the intertwined themes of reform and race, we must look back into the history of the state, to see what caused the instability that led to reform and the role that citizens played. The Civil War is just ending and the South lost not only did they lose the battle , but they also lost their family members, homes, land and most of all for some they lost their slaves. During the war Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed all slaves in territories that opposed the Union. Oshinsky paints a beautiful picture of the scenes that had unfolded when he wrote that, Few could escape the consequences of this war. Mississippi was bankrupt. Its commerce and transportation had collapsed. The railroads and levees lay in ruins. Local governments barely functioned. (p.12) The world that many white southerners had come to know was now destroyed. Being placed under these conditions, outraged many white southerners. Adding fuel to the fire, the fact of knowing that former slaves were now equal to even the poorest of whites, did not set well. The author states that, this hatred had many sources. The ex slave had become a scapegoat for the South s humiliating defeat. John F.H. Claiborne, Mississippi s most prominent historian, blamed him for causing the war and for helping the North to prevail. ( Oshinsky, 1996, p. 14) Carl Schdrz, a reformer from the North, became very concerned about how blacks would be treated, with rising sense of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Comparing The Loss Of Innocence In Wild Swans By Alice... Both Wild Swans by Alice Munro and Flowers by Alice Walker explore the loss of innocence in young women. Women have historically been seen as delicate and in need of protection. It is no wonder that the loss of a woman s virginity is referred to as deflowering, comparing a woman s sexual release to the death of beautiful, fragile nature. A woman s innocence is coveted, as people go to great lengths to shield them from both the reality of death and the pleasures of sex. The loss of certain kinds of innocence, specifically sexual, can be seen as shameful for a woman, as opposed to the masculine pride a man may feel from the same events. Through the choice of point of view, plot, and tone, Walker depicts Myop in Flowers as finding more peace in her loss of innocence than Rose does in Wild Swans. Walker tells Myop s story in a third person omniscient point of view, but limits greatly the extent to which she discloses Myop s inner feelings. Only once does Walker refer to Myop as unafraid (Walker 76), giving us some insight into her thoughts. However, most of the story is told from a rather detached point of view, mostly noting Myop s actions and the setting around her. Myop s thoughts, then, must be gleaned from the events of the story. One sees in how Myop responds to the corpse casually plucking a flower from beside his head that while the corpse has stripped her of her innocence, she has become more mature through her experience. Myop understands and accepts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bonnie, the initially timid and kind hearted character, becomes confident and powerful once she eradicates the burn scars that once covered her body. This stark transformation is extremely detrimental to the progression of feminism because it perpetuates the idea that topical beauty is the only key to attention, power and high levels of confidence for a woman. This depiction of beauty standards reinforces the notion that traditionally unattractive women have no voice and that attractive women are the winners of society those that curate male attention and power and exude confidence. • 13. The Public Library Located On Learning Centre Where The... DESCRIPTION Burns defines the therapeutic milieu as an environment or learning centre where the child and the student interact (Burns, 2006, p. 10). The therapeutic milieu, as discussed in this paper, is the Pickering Public Library located on Glenanna Road in Pickering Ontario. It is right across from the mall, and it is easily accessible. This is a public library for all ages. However, the focus will be the therapeutic milieu that is the children s service area in the public library. In library there are sections that divide the children s, youth, and adults by having a sign above the entrance of each section. According to Burns the way in which children experience life in their physical surroundings contributes directly to their development and sense of worth (Burns, 2006, p. 9). The physical milieu considered here is the children s service section in the library. The children s section is very open, and it painted a bright green and blue to respesent the sky and clouds. It also has a painted mural of a woodsy s area as if you were outside in a forest type setting along with a cardboard tree. • 14. What Is John Locke s Defense Of Private Property John Locke was a revolutionary thinker at his time for including the defense of private property in his Second Treatises on Civil Government in 1690. Locke sought to defend private property because he believed that private property was a natural right of man, because he said that every man has the right to sustain and preserve themselves with anything that nature affords to them Locke also wished to defend private property because it was the gateway to common consent and the formation of his theory of government. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Locke acknowledges that whatever man does decide to take into his possession that it must not go to waste because then he would be guilty of destroying property that would that would have commonly belonged to others. This part of the argument appears weak because today many people take possession of things and let them go to waste even though it could have been theoretically someone else s property. This here lies another issue with Locke s defense of private property is when he introduces the concept of money. By doing this Locke takes commonly shared property because now everyone who has access to the most money could buy (take) a majority of the land and hire people to work it so it would not go to waste and therefore gain a significant amount of control over the population. This is by far Locke s weakest argument for private property because it forgets to acknowledge the means a man would use in order to make sure the vast amounts of land that he took over did not go to waste, and consequently cause him to rob someone else of what could have been ... • 15. Significance Of The Magna Carta The Magna Carta was a very influential document that helped to established for the first time the principle that everybody, including the King, was subject to the law. The rule of law is a concept fundamental to democratic forms of government and asserts that all, including leaders, must abide by the laws of the nation. While the Magna Carta does not specifically state that the King is subject to the rule of law, the document establishes that principle by imposing limits on the King s power. In 1215, the Magna Carta was a peace treaty between King John and the Barons. First drafted by the Archbishop of Canterbury to make peace between the unpopular King and rebel Barons, it promised the protection of church rights, protection for the Barons from illegal imprisonment, access to swift justice, and limitations on feudal payments to the Crown, which was set to be implemented through a council of 25 Barons. Neither side stood behind their commitments, and the charter was annulled by Pope Innocent III, leading to the First Barons War. In retrospect it was a failure, but it provided a new framework for the relationship between the King and his subjects. After King John s death, his son Henry III, reissued the document in 1216, stripping some of its more radical content, in an unsuccessful bid to build political support for the new government. At the end of the war in 1217, it formed part of the peace treaty agreed at Lambeth, where the document acquired the name Magna ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, his father supported his talent, but he did not believe that art would not lead to a successful life. Dali was a very unique individual. He expressed his dreams through fascinating paintings. I have learned a lot about Dali from this trip. The most interesting thing to me was that he got expelled from college because he refused to take an exam. He was almost done with college but refused to take the exam anyway. It showed that he is filled with courage. He is his own person and no one could tell him different. It also proves to his father that a college degree is not necessary to succeed in life. • 18. The Feudal System And The Fall Of Feudalism In Europe During medieval times the feudal system was practiced in England, the feudal system was a hierarchy of different social classes where the Church was at the top and working peasants were at the bottom. The feudal system was introduced in Europe around the 8th century, with the Carolingian dynasty and Charles Martel granting land to his nobles ( History of Feudalism ). Feudalism does not spread through Europe until the 10th century, when most European countries become primarily Christian. The downfall of feudalism appears around the 13th century, feudalism becomes problematic due to the growth of corruption within the system. The core principles of feudalism begin to fade in exchange for greed. No longer were fiefs expected to repay the king with an army, but instead with cash. Additionally it became increasingly harder to become a fief, as the status of a fief was passed down from family members. While feudalism dissolves into government where the king rules over all and collects taxes in many countries, feudalism remains in multiple countries, including Germany, Italy, and France ( History of Feudalism ). The remaining feudalism systems in Europe are dismantled as a result of the French Revolution or Napoleon in the 15th century. Church was one of the largest parts of a Medieval citizen s life. • 23. Factors Affecting Labor Productivity And Their Affect... Q1. Factors affecting Labor productivity and their affect levels? Ans. The Factors that can affect the labor productivity are discussed below: 1. Overtime is the major factor that can affect the productivity rate. Planning of expanded work days or weeks surpassing a standard eight hour work day or 40 hour work week brings down work yield and productivity through physical weariness and poor mental demeanor. 2. I work around twelve to fourteen hours every single day, I make barely enough money to survive, I work in some of the most dangerous conditions in the world, and I am exploited based on the poverty I live in. I am a garment worker in a developing country. While most people would assume that this describes slaves a long time ago, this is actually a current issue that we have a much greater impact on than we may realize. When we purchase clothing from stores such as H M or Forever 21, with every dollar tank top, or a cheap pair of jeans we purchase, we are encouraging this sort of modern day slavery. The label for Fair Trade was created in 1988, and over the years, the certification has changed rapidly and now there are a number of standards companies have to abide by to achieve the Fair Trade label. Due to this, consumers are now guaranteed of the morality of the product (Marcovitz page 27). The book Fair Trade describes what Fair Trade really stands for by saying, Fair Trade displays a radical shift in trade policy by using morality instead of personal and corporate gain as the motive in the world economy (Fair Trade page 1). This means that instead of getting wealthy being the main goal for the entrepreneurs at the top of companies, the goal is to help workers and make the world a more fair place. • 27. African American Country Artist Essay Similar to Bailey and Pride, Darius Rucker, the third African American country singer to perform onstage at the Grand Ole Opry, did not enter the country music industry to make a pathway for other African Americans. Instead, Rucker had a passion for the guitar strumming, honky tonk melody, which he decided to pursue after his involvement with the rock band, Hootie and the Blowfish. Rucker said in an interview with the New York Times, Hate mail s been a part of my life; that s just the way it is. There s still people who don t want me to be singing country music, but I never want to let anybody tell me what I can do , which portrays Rucker s pride for his culture and how he does not let racial obscenities interfere with his music (Petrusich). African American artists are forced to battle through this hate mail and criticism in order to get their faces revealed in the country spotlight. If an artist lacks determination and vigor, it is hard for them to keep performing in front of audiences that are familiar with watching and listening to white country performers. For the encouraging boost we get when we know we re moving forward, we need to find markers of progress we can spot more easily and often. Not only is this quote important but it can be relevant to many things we live through and foresee daily. For example, if one is trying to achieve a certain fitness goal, it is not the brightest outlook to just select a very far fetched goal and not track small points of progress beforehand. • 35. Essay on Physics coursework The factors that affect the motion of a falling object Scientific Knowledge When an object falls, many forces are acted upon it: gravity, friction, air resistance and, if in the water, up thrust. When an object starts to fall, gravity over powers air resistance, however, as an object starts to reach terminal velocity (its maximum speed) the opposite forces start to even out until they are equal. Some people believe that if the forces are balanced then the object has stopped moving, meanwhile they could also just be moving at a constant speed (its terminal velocity). All free falling objects accelerate at the same speed no matter what their mass is (9.8m/s²). There are two calculations you need for this investigation, no matter which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because the weight increases as the cube of the size of an object, but the air resistance (drag) only increases as the square of the size, so the bigger the object is, the faster it will fall (or to be more precise, it has a higher terminal velocity.) The surface area can affect the motion of the falling object because it is has more air resistance pushing against it. Because there is more air resistance pushing against a larger object, it will fall so because it is making the downward force (gravity) weaker since there is now a larger force counteracting that first force. An object with a larger surface area will fall slower (have a smaller velocity) because it means there is a large area for air to come into contact with to produce that counteracting force called air resistance. Another factor that can affect the motion of a falling object is the viscosity of the liquid that it is falling through. Viscosity of liquid means how thick the liquid is. The higher the viscosity of the liquid, the more the liquid resists the object which is falling through it. This means that it will take a longer amount of time for the object to fall; meaning the velocity of the object will be very small. A further factor that can affect the motion of a falling object is the height from which the object is dropped from. Obviously, if an object is dropped from a greater height, it will take longer to reach the ground than the same object to reach the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Do you know who you would want on the other side? A lot of coaches now of days use this Hold the Rope saying as a motivational speech for their sports team, including my softball coaches. As a softball player you face a lot of adversity in the sport. There are times when you are in a hitting slump and can not hit a ball for 3 straight games, or even times when you make routine mistakes on the field. Through all of this it is difficult not to get down on yourself and it is even harder to erase that self doubt you create in your head. Softball is a fast paced sport, therefore it is important to slow the game down. This means to be relaxed and not too anxious for the ball. When a player becomes too anxious for the ball 9 times out of 10 they end up either missing the ball or they fumble the ball. All of these reasons is why teamwork is an important aspect to softball. When I was 8 years old my dad asked me if I wanted to try playing softball on the local recreational league. At the time I was already playing soccer, basketball, and was also taking karate lessons. The mythical tale reiterates the moral practices and beliefs that a culture needs to succeed. There are four purposes for writing a myth: First myths help in expressing humanity s fear and wonder of nature, myths helps to explain the creation of the universe, myths gives the readers moral guidelines that should be followed, and finally, myths gives instructions on how to contend with crises. He speaks of both gods and human beings as knowing things creatures of knowledge. However, there is a great difference in the quality and the scope of the knowledge available to the two groups (Everson, Pg.12). For the mortal human being the contrast between divine and human knowledge , paired with possible deception by the gods, has led him to question the idea of knowledge as it exists independently, reminding him that there are many things he cannot know for certain (Everson, Pg. 13). The development of empiricism has fashioned a present model that is widely used today: the reflection correspondence theory. The premise behind this ideology states knowledge results from a mapping of external objects that are related to the brain through sensory organs (Heylighen, Pg. 2). Reflection correspondence understands man will never reach an absolute state of knowledge, but somehow this inability to distinguish reality from illusion, illustrates thought as a limit of ever more precise reflections of reality (Heylighen, Pg. 2). Therefore thought, as a physical product of nature, is in itself a limiting trait. Another significant theory developed in this period is known as the Kantian synthesis of rationalism and empiricism. Kant pictured knowledge as emerging from the human organization of perceptual data on the basis of inborn cognitive structures known as categories (Heylighen, Pg. 2). His belief parallels, to some extent, that of evolutionary epistemology, which assumes knowledge is constructed by the subject, or social group as a means of adapting to their environment. This construction happens through blind variation , or what is understood as the correlation of different already existing pieces of knowledge.
