Importance of Early Childhood Education Essay
Importance of Early Childhood Education
Early childhood education is for children from the ages three to eight years old. In this field there
are four learning goals that early programs have for a young child.
The four learning goals are: knowledge (consists of facts, concepts, ideas, and vocabulary), skills (
small units of action that occur in short period of time), disposition ( respond to certain situations),
and feelings ( emotional states) ( Katz 2003). With an successful care giving and early education, it
can bring an positive outcome to a child s life. What a child learns in their early years are things
that will continue to helps them along in their future in school and in the real world. When a child

Not only does early education bring the benefit of interaction, it also lets the child feel loved and
have trust in others. If a child is encountered with early programs then they are able to meet the
needs of their child stage life. If these needs are not properly met, then they may become less
successful in their performance in an educational environment.
Learning Opportunities
There are many types of learning opportunities that can encourage a child to learn and help to
enhance their abilities. Child care centers are a great way to encourage a child to learn, and to
be ready for the school atmosphere. The Big Top Child Care Center in Laurel, Maryland have an
excellent program for children between two to nine years of age. They have an environment where
teachers are well trained and are first aid and CPR certified. They enhance a child s learning by
providing them with nutrition, educational field trips, and special events. Elementary schools are
the opening door for early childhood education. Children can begin their learning experience in pre
kindergarten and kindergarten which are the first grades of elementary education. Ring Factory
Elementary located at Harford county in Maryland is a school that has three kindergarten classes
that teach five to six year olds the beginning of their educational life. Not only are there child care
centers and schools a great

Imperialism In Central Africa
Riches in central Africa. In what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo, there was and still is a
plethora of natural resources. Rubber, gold, copper, diamonds and more. That natural wealth has
definitely hurt Congo in the past rather than helped. Its resources could have made it one of the
wealthiest countries in the world. But yet, this future did not hold true for the Congo. At the turn of
the 20th century, King Leopold II began to take notice of the central African country. (National
Black United Front). King Leopold II communicated all his ideas and intentions through a speech
to European missionaries. (Africa Global Network). In it, his words held the key to all things
terrible. Soon, Belgiumtook over the Congo and began one of the... Show more content on

what the title describes. It shows native Congolese as black skinned and fat lipped, with an

White mister is big juju man! (Cendrowicz). Most Congolese now find humor at this book s
portrayal of the Congolese natives, but others threatened to sue and ban the book worldwide

Women s Struggle Towards Self Emancipation
Throughout Dangarembga s seminal prose novel and BГў s epistolary novel, the authors explore
the omnipresent nature of gender inequality in a society and the inequitable standards of life that all
women have to either endure or reject. Both texts present their protagonists, Tambudzai and
Ramatoulaye one a developing adolescent, the other a widowed mother of twelve, reflecting on the
struggles of being women in their respective patriarchal societies of Zimbabwe and Senegal.
Through an investigation into the social, cultural and psychological contexts, the texts contribute
an understanding into the personal struggles of women through portrayals of the conflicting
tensions between patriarchyand the female autonomy, the significance of female solidarity and the
woman s struggle towards self emancipation and the resulting formation of identity.
Throughout both Nervous Conditions and So Long A Letter, the authors expose the need for
women to secure their own individuality by fighting the subjugation from patriarchal structures. In
Nervous Conditions, through her utilisation of juxtaposition between the characterisation Maiguru
and Lucia, Dangarembga highlights the need to women to take action. Although Maiguru holds a
PhD and is equally as capable as her husband, she is restricted by the expectations of her society
to do so called feminine tasks such as housework around the house and realises that when I was in

Narcissistic And Cult Leaders Essay
Narcissistic and Cult Leaders Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Cult Leaders
Every day we face and deal with either small or big issues relating to terrorist leaders from inside
and outside of country. During the past decade we have seen North Korean leader, Kim Jung
Un, Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro of Cuba, Idi Amain of Uganda and more,
who have been described as crazy, cruel, lunatic, madman, psychopath and even worse. How could
they acquire all the power, rule over people and become a leader in a country if they were such a
psychopath?
Ironically, they are just as rational as we are. We simply do not have a full understanding of their
personalities, which are unusually different from societal norms and expectation. They are defined
as a personality disorder. There are six personality disorders classified: sadistic, antisocial, paranoid,
narcissistic, schizoid and schizotypal.
Remarkably, most of these cult leaders have been suffering from narcissistic personality disorder,
which brings a dictatorship in social relationship and a fatal negative influential to both oneself and
others. Any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first cause of NPD is to have an inflated view of self or their importance, often at the expense
of others. This trait is strongly associated with an attraction to political leadership. Grandiose
people tend to hunger for power. They strive to occupy important positions of power and often
become dictators toward establishing repressive structure, as Lobaczewski (2007) points out. They

Non Fiction Setting
There are several aspects that, while not necessarily essential, are very important in creating a
story. Note that this only applicable to works of fiction, non fiction is of course based on facts.
For a story to be worth reading there should be a main character or characters, a conflict, feeling,
a plot, and a setting. Even if this work is a parody of another, the new work should contain the
same or similar basic aspects as the original. The first two elements of writingthat can and should
be gone through before even writing are the characters and the setting. Most of the time these two
will be similar, a cowboy near the Colorado River, the galactic rangers on the ArmД“nГЁ asteroid
belt, or the seven knights of HrathgГ r at the gates... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The actions and dialogue of the characters should have a purpose that the reader can look deeper
into. The description of people, places, and things should also be a well practiced skill. The
main goal should be to leave a lasting impression on the reader. As an example The brave hero
stood strong against his terror including foe, the man he once saw as a brother, the mighty dark
mage Zerross. Their battle was equally matched, though the mage was pushed farther and
farther back with each swing of the hero s mighty sword the mage was pushed farther back. The
had also become injured, several broken ribs, a large burn across his war torn chest, and
millions of cuts and bruises adorned his body. Zerross began to gather power from around him,
and soon started to glow with an ethereal light. However, the hero stood his ground and readied
his blade. With the flick of the wrist the dark mage sent out a beam of pure energy with the power
to split the earth in two at the hero. In return, the hero simply stood with his sword at his side, and
fell to his knees without anymore energy to fight. The beam hit its mark, directly through the hero s
heart. The dark mage stood triumphant as the hero fell and the heavens wept. For clarification,
these elements are only guidelines. The final product is the expression of the writer, and rightfully
so. These aspects are instead meant to help draw in the reader, to make them see the story in their
mind as if they were watching a movie. Also, if there is enough of an emotional tie with a character,
then that character will be left in the minds of the readers for months or even years. The one
aspect of a great novel is its ability to be

A Cunning Spider Poem Summary
2)ik makб№›a: Й”:r makhi (A Spider and Fly)
In the poem, the cunning spider convinces the smart fly to climb up its web and catches it. The
moral of the story is that one should be careful of flattery. Poet conveyed the message in simple and
easy way through the conversation between a spider and fly. In this poem the poet used
personification as allegorical device.Personification helps to link ideas and objects into people so
that an author can effectively communicate their meaning.
3)ik paha:б№› Й”:r ЙЈilehri (A Mountain and Sqirrel)
In this poem, a squirrel and a mountain have a quarrel because the mountain feels though it is more
important. Each person has his or her own individual talents, and everyone or everything has its
purpose in this world, none greater or less than another. The non human objects are portrayed by the
poet, making us feel that they have the ability to act as humans.
4)hamdardi (Sympathy)

a little glow worm and a nightingale. In the poem nightingale lost her way to her nest because the
darkness of the night, which covers everything and made difficult to see anything or to find her

Once Melinda made her first wish, she started to think of her other 2 wishes. Melinda thought of
very selfish wishes. She said, During the rest of the walk to school, Melinda was occupied with
wonderful ideas. She would have beautiful clothes. Wish number two, that I will always be
perfectly dressed, and she was just that. She did not wish for anything good for the world. She
wished that she could be better than everyone. She only thought for herself and she is very
selfish for doing that. Her greed controlled her actions. Perhaps the most obvious section where
the theme is apparent is at the end of the story. Melinda finally gets the repercussions of her
greedy and selfish behavior. Once Melinda realizes she had not studied for her test because she
was too caught up with the snail she takes out her anger at the snail. She then wishes, I wish I
were dead. This is the ultimate payback for being greedy. She was being very greedy throughout
the story and finally she wishes she was dead and of course it came true. Melinda let her greed
overcome her and she payed for it. The theme of Those Three Wishes is that greed can control
you. Melinda gives us an example of this in the story. She acts in a greedy and selfish way and she
gets her payback. Melinda realizes the outcome of being greedy. Being greedy gets you nowhere
and the author gave us that theme through the story of Melinda. The author showed us that greed

Definition Of Rowing Essay
Some things are hard for people to understand. Like how anyone could be proud of nasty, yellow
calluses that make your hands feel like leather or how anyone could hate a machine that s
supposed to help you. To most rowing is just another sport, but to people who row it s a key
component of their identity. I believe the hardest thing for people to understand about rowingis why
anyone would put themselves through intense pain to win a race. Sometimes it s even hard for
me to remember why I started rowing in the first place. Then I realize that I don t know what I d
do if I didn t row. I don t know where I would be without my teammates, coaches, and parents who
have pushed and supported me to do better and be better.

The Art of Living Consciously
What does it mean to live consciously? To live consciously means to take every aspect of your
life and try to look deeper into what is going on. In his book, Branden tries to take different
aspects of life and try to explain to the reader how it is that we can live consciously. In the
beginning, Branden starts off with the simple things to address and then moves his way up
throughout the book to explain the more complicated things we deal with in our daily lives. What

How has Branden helped us to achieve a life of consciousness? Well for starters, he helps us in his
book with what he says in the different chapters in the book. One of the ways he helps us is by
telling us to sit down once in a while and just examine our lives. What is it that we are doing
wrong and what are we doing wrong? If we can do this with all the other stuff that Branden
explains in his book such as doing daily exercises with sentence stems and see what you come up
with can help your life in the simplest way. Everyone has those moments in their life when they
do not know what is going on with them or even why this thing is happening to them. Such
moments can be a birth of a child, a death of a friend or even the person waking up one day and
coming to the realization that his or her life still has plenty of decisions to make. These such
moments can come at any point in a person s life whether everything is going along fine or the
person is having a tough time. The point of this is that Branden is telling us to open up our eyes
a little bit more and we can start living a conscious and easy going life. Living in the western
world as we know cannot be easy for anyone but how can Branden explain that it actually could be
easy to live in such a culture? All you

The Medicare Modernization Act ( Mma )
Background
Since the late 1980s, Medicare has reimbursed physician services using the Medicare Physician
Fee Schedule (MPFS), which encompasses 10,000 procedure codes. Each code is assigned
resource based relative value units (RVUs), which are designed to reflect physician work,
practice expense, and malpractice expense. To adjust for local differences in cost of living, each
RVU is modified using geographic practice cost indexes (GPCIs) and then converted to dollars
using a conversion factor. This system rewards physicians who produce a high volume of services;
not surprisingly, Medicare Part B expenditures have grown rapidly.
In FY 1998, the SGR was introduced as an attempt to better manage this spending growth by taking
into account several factors, including the expansion of the overall economy. However, because this
system didn t fundamentally change the economics of the program, it did not achieve its original
objective.
With enactment of the Medicare Modernization Act (MMA) in 2003, Medicare began moving
toward value based payments, and the introduction of Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010 meant
that Medicare accelerated its use of value based payments as a means of improving outcomes and
managing overall costs (Wofford, 2015).
The care delivery enterprise must be re tooled so that it functions in a fee for value reimbursement
environment as is has in a fee for service reimbursement environment. The Centers for Medicare
and Medicaid Services (CMS) is leading the

Depiction of Cultural and Religious Beliefs in Artwork
Depiction of cultural and religious beliefs have been an important element in many artworks. The
newly formed Early Christian religion, the Roman culture, and the Greek culture are no exception
to this occurrence. Though living close in proximity to each other, their views differed vastly, in
respect to both religionand culture. Roman and Greek views indulged the here and now , while
those views of the Early Christians centered on the hereafter . It is upon the examination of a
few artworks taken from either side, that this contrast becomes extremely apparent. Though
there was an idea of an afterlife in Roman and Greek mythology, it was generally not taken
seriously by the people. Thus the All that is good in this worldly life, is the only good to seek
mentality prevailed. In their numerous artworks we see this mentality in the display of scenes
of indulgence, of worldly matters, and finery. In fact, the purpose of the artwork itself is that it
is meant to be a beautifying piece, to grace the homes and villas, and add to the beauty of this
world. In the sculpture Discobolos different aspects of worldly good are identifiable. A youthful
man with a well sculpted body poses in a way that accentuates his muscles, as he prepares to
throw a discus. From this sculpture and many others similar to it, one can see first of all that there
is a great respect for sports, which are an in the moment game. When playing or watching the sport,

Such a classic corporate insider, who owes fiduciary duties to the corporation and its shareholders,

The two cases mentioned above are more complex and would fall under the Misappropriation
Theory of Insider Trading. This theory uses a corporate outsider (Kaplan, Matteo, Pfeffer). The
famous case that put this theory into law books was United States v. O Hagan. In this case:
an attorney traded in the stock of a potential takeover target. He learned of the potential takeover
from confidential information obtained by his law firm, which represented the company planning
the tender offer. Since he was not an officer of the target company, and had no relation to it, the
classical theory of insider trading did not apply. The Court held that he was nevertheless guilty of
insider trading, reasoning that the attorney owed a fiduciary duty to his law firm, and, by using his
law firm s confidential information to trade, he misappropriated such information (Kaplan, Matteo,

Cambridge University student who moves to Berlin and is drawn into the world of the 1930 s

political issues that were prevalent in Germany at this time, including the rise of the Nazi Party, the

The atmosphere inside the club is similar to the one presented in The German Slapping Dance ; the
only major difference is that the audience is predominantly comprised of Nazi soldiers. This is
shown to highlight the blurring lines between fantasy and reality; and how both lifestyles were
seeping into the other. Outside, things have deteriorated significantly. Instead of small scale
beatings in darkened alleyways, the Nazi supporters are now running frantically through the streets,
yelling, scuffling and exuding power and violence. The celebratory atmosphere inside the club
juxtaposed with the violent protests outside in the street is indicative of how, even well into the
1930 s, the German public did not take the Nazi regime seriously and underestimated their hostility
and prejudice against minority groups. The costuming of the dancers in The Nazi Occupation is
significant because the red, black and white costuming is reflective of the Swastika flag and the
uniforms of the Nazi soldiers. This subtle detail, especially after the snare drum sounded and the
lighting changed, enhanced the interdependent nature of the fantasy and reality worlds presented in
The German Slapping Dance and The Nazi Occupation by highlighting the similarities between the
dancers onstage and the German Army. The use of the cane as a prop also accentuates the mimicry
of the German Army as the dancers manipulate the canes to look like rifles over their shoulders.

components of the piece solidify the interconnected nature of the two starkly contrasting

many types of spyware, so it is wise to have a suite that is bundled into one package. For
instance, there was a bug in the operating system of iPhones and iPads that hackers could exploit.
Advertisements that keep appearing on apps are called adware. They can be annoying because
they keep popping up and can use up your iPad s memory. These types of advertisement can be
use to spy on iPad user s internet activities. If anti spyware software found a program on your
mobile device, it would tell the user to remove the spyware from his or her device using the
software. The third part of my internet security suite is the firewall. This is the software or
hardware that protects a person s device from hackers gain access to his or her iPad without
permission. It asks the user for permission before it allows a program to gain access to your iPad.
This software makes it harder for hackers to gain control of your mobile device. For example,
Zone alarm is a popular firewall that controls what comes in and out on a network a computer.
Security protection is needed for mobile devices on the internet. A firewall also lets a person
know about suspicious programs that are trying to access into his or her mobile devices or

The Development Of Sustainable Development
Sustainable development is defined in many methods, but the official definition is explained
through Our Common Future: Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the
present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It
contains two key concepts: the concept of needs, in particular the essential needs of the world s
poor, to which overriding priority should be given; and the idea of limitations imposed by the state
of technology and social organization on the environment s ability to meet present and future
needs. From my point of view, there are three key points existing in this explanation: the needs of
each class in the society, the limitation of development as well as the demands of present and future
generation. These three points will be analyzed in detail below.
In fact, mass tourism has provided a relevantly equal opportunity for people that they can treat
themselves to the pleasure of tourism. However, the holiday might be destroyed because of the
crowed heritage sites and expensive price. The needs of present visitors may not be achieved.
Meanwhile, the valued heritages might be undermined over time, which means that if heritage
resources are overdeveloped without any limitation, the identity and culture of local community
will disappear with the vanishing of regional heritages in the future. The needs of future generation
about heritage tourism cannot be met. Thus, the first thing of sustainable

Drones In Sports

However, in an identical case of Storer v Manchester City Council (1974), Mr Storer puts in a
bid to purchase his council property and he was forwarded an Agreement for Sale of a Council
House form which he signed and posted it back to the Council. The council received his reply
before the political reform affecting the sales of house to council tenants transpired. The
Council contended that the Sale of Agreement Form to sell the Council House was not an offer
and in this instance no contract was contracted. However, the Judges failed to agree and ruled
that the form was indeed an offer immediately Mr Storer signed the form and forwarded it back
to the Council. It is pertinent to point out the differences between these two similar cases. In the
case of Mr Gibson no Agreement for Sale was prepared and Mr Gibson did not sign. Whereas for
Mr Storer s case there was an agreement; consequently, the bargaining has been done and an

Celiac Diseases Research Paper
Celiac disease (CD) and Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) is on the rise. Although general
consensus states that the diseases incidence varies greatly, research conducted in the last 30 40
years contradicts those claims. Yes, the proliferation can be partially credited to increased
efficiency in diagnostic techniques and the mainstream status of the diseases, but the spread of
affliction in not only the US and Europe, but to geographic areas not historically affected by CD
and NCGS, is equally enigmatic. A 2010 cohort study, with data collected since 1974, illustrated
that CD increased 5 fold from 0.2% in 1975 to 1% 25 years later (1). A study in Scotland has
marked a 6.4 fold increase between 1990 and 2009 (2), while Finland and Sweden... Show more

Out of every cereal grain consumed around the world, wheat gluten contains the greatest amounts
of glutamate at 25% by weight (7). Since K. Ikeda s original experiments and T. Hayashi s
observations of glutamate s ability to induce seizure activity upon direct application to the CNS,
scientists have come a long way in the understanding of excito toxins and their roles in food.
Glutamate is largely responsible for wheat s prodigious umami taste, coined by Ikeda in the early
1900s. Umami also gives substances such as MSG the unique ability to heighten and amplify taste,
and is likely the reasoning behind wheat s popularity and opiate like activity in the brain. Elevated

The Judicial Evolution Of Appointment Of Commissions
The system would lead to grave injustice particularly in case where the parties to the litigation
are not balanced in economic strength. The litigants belonging to un privileged segment of the
society are bound to be at a disadvantage as against an economically strong opponent under the
adversarial system because difficulty in securing a competent legal representation also due to
inability to produce relevant pieces of evidence before the courts. Hence, when approached the
courts for enforcement of their FRs, it became necessary to lay down new procedure, to make
this possible by the courts. New tools were forged for making the FRs meaningful to the large
segments of people . So in cases where poor litigants or citizens bona fide approached the courts,
they could not expect the formers to produce relevant material before them in support of their
case. The adoption of a passive approach and declining to intervene would render FRs a teasing
illusion for such litigants. The appropriate answer was the judicial evolution of appointment of
commissions for gathering facts and data with respect to a complaint of a violation of a FR made
on behalf of weaker segments. Consequent reports of commissioners appointed will furnish prima
facie evidence the relevant facts and information gathered by the commissioners and that is the case
why such commissioners would have to be responsible individuals; who enjoys the confidence of
the court for making an inquiry into the facts of the case

Lord Capulet Quotes
Even though Lord Capulet, from the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet written by William
Shakespeare, is trying to do what he thinks is best for Juliet, Lord Capulet starts off as a loving
and caring father but slowly graduates into an ignorant and insensitive father because when
confronted by Paris, Lord Capulet tells him that Juliet is too young to marry and that in a few
years, if she says yes, then it is possible. When Tybaltdies, Capulet moves up the wedding to the
upcoming Thursday without Juliet s consent. Lord Capulet loves his daughter but does not know
much about her true thoughts or feelings. Because of his ignorance towards her feelings, Juliet
starts to resent her father and becomes a disobedient and dishonest daughter. Capulet... Show more

thinks that it is inevitable for Juliet to marry Paris and goes as far as saying I ll tell you what:

Don t answer me back! My fingers are itching! Wife, we thought we were very lucky that God

having her! To blazes with her, the worthless creature! (185). In his rant he fails to realize that
this is truly not what Juliet wants and that this is not what s best for her. The only thing in the
way of Juliet marring Paris is that she secretly loves Romeo and is waiting for the day that she
reunites with him and they live happily ever after. This rant by Lord Capulet turns Juliet against
her father and shows the readers that Lord Capulet is not the loving father he once was. Later in
the play, Juliet is found dead because of Lord Capulet s insensitivity and ignorance towards her

How The Media Regulate Agents
What is the Landscape Currently?
Now that an analysis has been constructed to compare the media regulating agents, a second
analysis must be molded in order to recognize the current media landscape. This needs to be
established in order to bring justification to any policy changes at the government or industrial
levels. If the common child s media landscape reflexes the sociocultural environment that is
desired, then no policy change is require. On the other hand, if there is dissonance present, then a
policy adjustment is needed. The question now rises on what type of sociocultural environment is
desired. While this can be highly subjected on an individual case, one could make argument for

compare with media policies. Many of these standards are already incorporated into the language of
American policies. For example, violence, sexual, profane, and dangerous substance contents are
used as a standard in most of the industries regulatory systems. Typically these standards are a
reflection of risky or illegal behavior that could be modeled by the audience. For the purpose of
this article, a look at two of these common standards will be evaluated in two parts. First, an
evaluation of the media content s relationship to influence the audience to conduct in a risky

3D Display Essay
This great progress in display technologies have brought us a long way in how we receive, perceive,
experience and interpret all the information. Mass media film, entertainment, internet, gaming,
architecture and data visualization have taken new shapes around these display technologies. One
important thing to note about all these displays is that all output only 2D imagery. They create a
two dimensional array of colored picture elements a.k.a. pixels that, stacked tightly next to each
other, project images or text. But in the real world, we see objects in three dimensions and we
perceive the third dimension with our naked eye.
Traditional 2D display devices show flat images that lack depth or 3D information. This restriction

This ability to resolve depth within in a scene either natural or virtual improves spatial
understanding of the scene and reduces the cognitive load associated with analysis and
collaboration on complex tasks. With recent advancements in technology, true 3D displays are
making their way into mainstream. 3D display technologies are stereoscopic or
autostereoscopic. Autostereoscopic displays do not require wearing special eye glasses to view
the 3D content. Light Field Displays and 3D volumetric displays are examples of
autostereoscopic displays. On the other hand, binocular stereoscopic displays require special
eyewear to be able to view the 3D content, In many 3D display technologies, multiple views are
typically used to give a sense of depth and perspective. (Lages, Cordeiro, Guedes, 2009). A survey
by Air Force Research Laboratory(AFRL) suggests Joint Terminal Attack Controllers(JTACs) who
were shown 3D holograms and conventional 2D images rated 3D holograms to be more effective
than the 2D imagery in terms of retaining height information (Martin, Holzback, Riegler, Smith, Ki

ability and understanding by providing interactive 3D visualization (Lee, Wong, Fung, 2009). In a
study examining the usefulness of stereo images in elementary school education, stereoscopic 3D
images were shown to reveal details that were

Digging Seamus Heaney
Eye color, height, even most of your personality is inherited from your parents, and those same
traits from their parents, and so on. Every offspring inherits traits from their parents, but Seamus
Heaney discusses the trait of hard work ethic. A work ethic so strong it is passed down through the
generations of a family. It is a hard work that over time has provided a way of life and means of
supporting a family. Through use of flashbacks and vivid imagery, we get a glimpse at this
amazing way of life. One of the most important pieces of Digging is how the speaker begins
about to write something and how he/she ends that way. As the writer sits down and is about to
start writing, they hear a rasping sound outside the window. As they look down, they see their
father under the window, digging. The speaker s father is described to be straining and working

The speaker goes on to describe his grandfathers skill with a spade. He says that, My grandfather

Intellect Argument
The intellect argument also comes into play when critics talk about Eve and her dreams,
particularly the difference in which Adam and Eve receive information after the fall. Adam goes
on his journey with Michael while Eve sleeps. Many see this as supporting the gender hierarchy
because Adam s journey is considered a high form of prophecy because an angel is involved
whereas dreams are often considered a low form (McGrath79). Also, there is the fact that dreams
used in previous points of the poem were Satanic and therefore already given a negative
connotation. The difference in which the two are treated in terms of information is concerning,
especially because the difference in which they are treated is so wide, one traveling with an angel

Before They Were Blue
In 1987, Chris, Phil and Matt found themselves in their mid 20s, sharing an apartment in New
York City, each quite different but all in search of a creative outlet. Matt had once read that life

Matt and Chris had a history that extended back to high school.
Matt was born into a fourth generation New York City family, his mother a writer and teacher, and
his father a documentary film maker. He attended public elementary school, which he described as a

Themes In The Great Gatsby
Time. It affects all of what we know and are. Living in the past can affect your present, and
living in the future can affect your present. We see that as we read both The Great Gatsby and
The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock . Three common themes arise in both of these literatures.
Those themes are: mortality, memories/the past, and isolation. When we realize that we are not
immortal, we then tend to focus on our past or our memories we have made because those are
what we lived for because we don t want to be isolated when we are older. They may not seem like
they are connected, but all three of these very much so affect one s life and how they live it. That is
shown throughout the characters narrated.
In The Great Gatsby , some of the characters know that they are past their prime. They don t need to
be the center of attention or anything like that because they understand that it isn t their time to
shine anymore. That s shown in this example: I belong to another generation...
As for me, I am fifty years old, and I won t impose myself on you any longer. They have accepted
that they are not it anymore. Even though the theme is common between both passages, it means
something different in The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. The meaning is different here because
the author knew he was past his prime and all that he had done means nothing now.
He doesn t care about the big, glamorous things anymore but moreso the simplistic things in life.

Risks Of Risk Management Planning
Risk Management Planning The risk management plan is to identify possible negative and positive
risks that are unforeseen before and during the project duration. The risks associated with this
project can be as little as permit issue to as big as hazardous material abatement and handling. The
positive riskcan be addressed and over checked for cutting corners and missed work packages. The
risk planning must be composed of stakeholders and project team leaders including the project
manager. The plan will involve the appropriate team members to address positive and negative risks
by using their experience, and skills. The managementplan will include instruction with dealing
with contractor issue that can possibly put constraints on the project. There will meetings with
project team to brainstorm the risks and discuss the impact of those identified risks and how they
can resolve them if they do surface. The plan should be part of the decision tree making, especially
for very large projects.

Comparison Of Bill Boone And Coah Yoast
oach Boone and Coah Yoast exhibit leadership qualities in a different way. Coah Boone reveals
authority and confidence when he is coach, regardless of he is black in the community, he divides
both the races of players to sit and sleep together at the camp no matter what race they are in which
he hopes that it would unite the players. He wants them to be familiar and understand each other as
a team. On the other hand, Coah Yoast also uncovers adroit and responsibility with regards to racism
, when his players run toward the African Americans at the beginning of the movie, he runs a car
ahead of them to stop them from it and he is dependably affably taking to the African Americans
unlike his daughter. He comprehends the issues and know how to manage it without aggravation.
Coach Boone uses his power that he gained as a Coah to bring the black and white community
together by putting mixing the races when they are in the camp. He needs each race to understand
how each race or individual can acquire an alternate perspective or can act as a helping hand that
would profit the team in the future. Bill Yoast likewise utilizes his power by concentrating on
completing the works, unlike Coach Boone, he is willing to lose his Hall of Fame nomination in
the Regional Final game. He sees Coach Boone s goal and in order for it to happen, he does this
so that the players have a fair chance at winning the game and wouldn t miss out due to prejudice.

Reflection Paper On Perseverance
Research Reflection
Before I began researching I was really passionate about the ability to persevere and I knew I
wanted to talk about perseverance and explain why it was such an essential characteristic to
have. I especially wanted to find examples of many others that had to persevere to get through
their own tough times. But when I originally started researching my topic I did not exactly have
anything in mind about what I was exactly looking for. This was mainly due to that I had the
ideas in my head but did not know how to put those in a way that I could deliver it for the whole
class to understand. So as I began researching I focused on just using perseverance in school, like
not giving up after not getting a concept the first time. But after looking through a few articles I
found many examples of when perseverance was used in other ways, such as building things for
society or ways in which one can be successful. This then broadened my perspective on
perseverance and showed me the benefits of it.
The Grit: the Power of Passion and Perseverance. Ted Talk video was extremely helpful for my
research since it gave me numerous amounts of examples of how the main thing that distinguishes
kids for who they are is perseverance. I found out that one s intelligence quality is not determined
by their test scores, but rather it is determined by how they improve on making those test scores
the best they can be. Most of the things in the Ted Talk I had heard about before or

Abstract
Inez Beverly Prosser (1895 1934), was an African American psychologist of the early twentieth

the obtainment of fair and adequate education. This writing will address the endeavors, perspectives,

This theory focuses on the potential of an individual and the importance of self actualization. As an
educator, Prosser felt that Caucasian teachers within the institutions of the south were not equipped,
from a psychological perspective of the black culture to adequately teach African American
students. Prosser felt that the Caucasian educators could not relate to those students in the same
manner as an educator of the same race. Prosser set out to bring attention to the significance of her
view by creating, The Comparative Reliability of Objective Tests in English Grammar. The design
of this study was meant to demonstrate that the English grammar tests that were being administered
at that time were unreliable because they did not take into consideration the background or culture
of the African American students. During her tenure, Prosser conducted an extensive study to prove
this point. In her reason given for choosing Cincinnati for her research, this was made clear by her
following statement, (1) to measure vocational interests, leisure interests, play interests, social
participation, emotional or neurotic tendencies, social distance, ascendancy submission,
overstatement, introversion extraversion, and general personality adjustment. . . , (2) to ascertain

Solon Vs Solon
What is the underlying mechanism that causes the downfall of leaders and the collapse of
societies? A superstitious individual could attribute these transitions to the gods. Solon, ancient
Athenian poet and political philosopher, would disagree with this sentiment and argue that it is
men themselves who cause their own destruction. Often, the unwillingness of rulers to hear and
understand the potential dangers of their greed and selfishness starts this process. To ascertain
the best possible choice, one must look to the future. What are the plausible outcomes and
pitfalls of one s decisions? A failure to consider this question and a lack of foresight is where
many go wrong. In both Herodotus representation of Solon and in his own poetry, Solon is a
wise man who devotes his entire life to his objectives and warns foolish leaders of their
irresponsibility. He offers a political ideology about the rise and fall of powerful men and great
empires. This can be briefly summarized by Herodotus when he says human prosperity never
abides long in the same place (Herodotus 1.5.3 4). However, the representations of Solon are in
some ways different. For example, the Herodotean version uses anecdotes to teach moral lessons,
while the lyric Solon explicitly lays out his grievances against the Athenian oligarchy and proposes
ways to reform Athens. Solon s reformations brought Athens out of an age of treachery and
lawlessness rife with dishonest, unjust and essentially criminal rulers. He

As Capitman et al. (n.d.) illustrates with cancer disparities in racial/ethnic groups, induvial and
cultural factors influence how individuals participate in disease prevention and self care
activities. Other factors include availability of health care professionals, mal distribution of
health care resources, and accessibility to social services (Capitman et al. n.d.). Looking at social
and physical environments in general can tell you a lot about how big a difference we see in
health disparities in both urban and rural areas. As noted by Unite for Sight, urban environments
tend to be more highly diverse socioeconomic status with more exposure to health related risk
(chronic diseases) while rural dwellers are more significantly poorer and poor health behaviors
(smoking etc.). Furthermore, rural areas have a higher proportion of uninsured and individually
insured residents with limited access to health care facilities. In urban areas even if with high
prevalence of individuals without health insurance or citizenship they deal with a system where
individuals have access to preventive and routine health care while the other portion of the
populations utilize safety net emergency room care (as cited Unite for Sight n.d.). In general, we
see in urban and rural health that there is a difference between health care access, usage, geographic
distribution of providers and

The Original Myth Of Daedalus And Icarus
The original myth of Daedalus and Icarus was written by Ovid in his story The Story of Daedalus
and Icarus . The story is about Daedalus, who was an architect, and Icarus, his son. They were
exiled to an island that can only be escaped through the air. Daedalus made wax wings that melt if
they get too close to the sun. When Icarusstarted flying, he flew too high and fell to his death.
This story has been interpreted several different ways; these include: Landscape with the Fall of
Icarus, a painting by Pieter Bruegel; Landscape with the Fall of Icarus , a poem by William
Carlos Williams; and Musee des Beaux Arts , a poem by W. H. Auden. The texts use different
elements to portray Icarus death, which symbolizes man s failure. One

Difference Between Alland And Alice In Wonderland
After reading Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and then watching the Disney movie Alice in
Wonderland, I found that there were a couple of main plot differences. A main plot difference was
that the poem the Caterpillar asked Alice to Recite was different in the book than it was in the
movie. In the movie, Alice recited a poem titled How Doth the Little Crocodile, and in the book she
recites the poem titled You Are Old, Father William. The Caterpillar is also portrayed much
meaner throughout the movie compared to the book. At the end of the book, Alice woke up her
sister and told her about the dreams that she had. It turned out that the sister also dreamt
something very similar. In the movie though, Alice had woken up her parents. I feel that the
meaning between the two different poems that are read aloud by Alice are very different. One
being more a story to follow and the other being a short riddle to solve. Each of them are
important, but in a movie context, I feel that the short riddle is a little easier to follow.
Wonderland is not supposed to make much sense, so if the riddle confuses the viewer, they are
able to think that it is just another silly part of Wonderland. The Caterpillar was not the nicest
character to Alice throughout the book, but after watching the movie I realized that that was
probably the nicest the author could have made him. The movie producers had him be awfully
mean to Alice. I think that Alice waking up to tell her sisters is a better way to end

The Age Discrimination In Employment Act (ADEA)
Define and explain ADEA The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) is the federal
law governing age discrimination. It was ordered in 1967 to advance the work of more seasoned
specialists in view of capacity as opposed to age, avoid discrimination, and help take care of the
issues that emerge with an aging workforce. The ADEA precludes a business from refusing to
contract, firing, or for the most part discriminating against a delegate age at least 40 prepared,
only on the start of age. Along these lines, a business can t deny a delegate pay or fringe benefits
when the main support is age. Nor may a business portray delegates into gatherings of an age group
in a way that outlandishly precludes workers from claiming work openings. For instance,

Reducing The Risk Of Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia
Reducing the Risk of Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia through Head of Bed Elevation The
American Thoracic Society (1996) defines ventilator acquired pneumonia or VAP as the specified
type of nosocomial pneumonia that occurs after the first 48 hours of initiating mechanical
ventilation. One of the major causes of mortality among infections acquired at the hospital is VAP.
Once a patient develops VAP he/she will have to spend to longer amount of time in the ICU (Rello
et al.,1996). VAP initiating bacteria are often categorized into two groups: those that cause early
onset VAP (usually with 4 days of mechanical ventilation) and those that cause late onset VAP
(usually after 4 days of mechanical ventilation) (Craven and Steger, 1996; George et... Show more

The various factors that increase a patient s susceptibility to VAP are discussed by Cook et
al.(1998). Background of study It has been found that the chances of developing nosocomial
pneumonia is reduced by situating seriously ill ventilated patients in a semi recumbent position.
The goal of this experiment is to compare and contrast between the effects of the present standard
degree of bed head elevation (i.e. 25 В°) and 45В° elevation on the occurrence of VAP. The
incidence of VAP can be prevented/reduced in the hospitals by taking nursing measures.
Elevation of head of bed is one among them. Nurses should maintain the angle of 45 degree of
bed head elevation all times to reduce the risk of aspiration. The flat position increases the risk of
aspiration. The main purpose of this study is to understand whether or not increasing the standard
degree of bed head elevation will help minimize the occurrence of VAP. Methods of study The
method adopted was quantitative in nature, using a randomized controlled trial. In order to achieve
this, 71 adult patients were assessed for eligibility and among this 59 met the given criteria. They
were randomly categorized into treatment groups consisting of 29 patients and a control group
consisting of 27 patients. The randomization was done by the same nurse who recruited the patients

Workplace Disputes And The Workplace Dispute
Human resources management relies upon employees and employers working concurrently.
However in many cases this is hard to create, this is a factor leading to workplace disputes.
Workplace disputes are conflict which occurs within the workplace. They can be a result of
relationships or clashes in opinions on certain tasks. Indicators are used to measure the results of
workplace disputes, these indicate the factors creating disputes. They include: corporate culture
how well a workforce treats one another, benchmarking key variables whether staff are motivated to
reach these benchmarks, staff turnover the amount of separation of employees is occurring,
absenteeism how frequently staff are taking days off, accidents how people react... Show more

These companies have been affected by workplace disputes and have been forced to resolve these
using different strategies.
(Australia Post promotes the strategies of grievance procedures, negotiation, mediation and
conciliation as a means of resolving disputes in their Enterprise Bargaining Agreement) (AUS
Post EBA). This is most likely as a result of the expensive process of courts and tribunals. One
such workplace dispute was seen between Australia Post and many of their licensees within the
Licensed Post Office (LPO) Group of which licensees belonging to Australia Post who are
essentially independent small business owners operate under the entity of Australia Post. The LPO
group had been dissatisfied with the neglection of increase in commission payments over many
years from Australia Post, as a result they decided to approach Australia Post. This is an example of
a remuneration dispute. Due to the overall commitment from licensees, the LPO group believed
that going above alternative dispute resolution was the best means for a solution. Thus seeing the
matter being heard at the senate (which can recommend changes or amend proposed laws) (APH).
The LPO group claimed that licensees payments were not currently fair or reasonable. The senate
committee announced their recommendations on the 3rd of March 2015. (The 18

Barbara Ehrenreich Serving In Florida Rhetorical Analysis
Title
Introduction Paragraph
In Barbara Ehrenreich s essay Serving in Florida, derived from Ehrenreich s book Nickel and
Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America, the author conveys through a undercover experiences of
working low wage jobs in Florida, that minimum wage jobs are harsh working conditions and lead
to uncomfortable and a unpleasant way of living. Her essay also helps to reveal that the conditions
that minimum wage jobs create, is the thin line between bearly having somewhere to live and
being completely homeless. This will be proven by not only her experience, but also supported by
primary/secondary sources.

For My Project, I Decide To Focus On My Own Music Project,
For my project, I decide to focus on my own music project, Opaque Eyes. Opaque Eyes is a indie,
dream pop and ambient music project that started in spring of 2016, and has a few small
releases, and one EP release. The project also has a nice visual aspect to it where I make all my own
cover art and visuals to go along with releases. I have many goals for this project and where I
would like to take it. I have a few releases planned for the end of the summer and am planning on
many collaboration efforts to branch out into other areas of electronic music, to both expand my
understanding of production, but to also reach out to other audiences. Another exciting endeavor I
am perusing with Opaque Eyes and two other electronic musicians is... Show more content on

To go with each song, I want to include a visual for each track. For the full EP, I want the cover
art to be extremely simple. Just A black or Grey background with the text The Me Without You.
This is to reflect the opaque idea of the EP, which is not knowing who you are. But For each
song, I will create its own individual cover art and/or then a small video to go along with it, and
along with the music, help demonstrate the movement/growth of the EP (more specifically, the
subject of the music s growth) I will create its own individual cover art and/or then a small video
that I can use as promotional tools, but also release in full as videos on YouTubeand Tumblr to help
gain awareness. The videos will not be traditional in the sense that they will not have a theme or a
story, but the videos will be simple and in perspective. So, for one song, the video might just be of
someone sitting in a park, and they are watching what is going on around them, which would reflect
the song, or it would include glitched images to show the pain someone is feeling. For marketing, I
would stick to strictly online campaigns. I think this is the smartest idea for electronic music since
the online community is so vast, and work can travel very quickly if done effectively. I will
prioritize Facebook, Tumblr and YouTube for marketing. These outlets have a decent mix of visual
and text aids, that

People Tend To Act Insane In Shakespeare s Hamlet
Many people may notice that they tend to act differently around different people. In one case, one
may act outlandish and carefree when he is with his friends, but on the other hand, he might act in
a more reserved and quiet manner when around people he is less acquainted with. This behavior
could lead to people wondering whether or not this personis being genuine with them or not.
Moreover, these actions are quite common in society, literature, and many psychological and
scientific studies. Overall, people should act as genuine as they can in order to prevent false
assumptions about the person. According to Christopher Heffner from AllPhsych, we tend to act
differently around certain people is to maintain our social image or improve how others see us.
Heffner describes that when a person is alone, he tends to be more relaxed and focused compared
to when he is around other people. Also, by changing our behavior when dealing with group
decisions, we tend to try to avoid conflict by agreeing with the popular opinion. Overall, he explains

Once Hamlet is charged with the task of avenging his father s death, he quickly begins to act insane
around his mother, Gertrude, and the rest of the characters. On the contrary, Hamlet does not act
insane around his friend, Horatio. For example, Hamlet acts very strange during the scene when he
and his family are watching the actors perform. Before the performance starts, Hamlet disrespects
Denmark by jokily whistling the national anthem. After that, he constantly makes sexual remarks
with Ophelia all while trying to get Claudius to confess his crimes. Another example of this crazy
behavior is during the scene with Hamlet and Gertrude after the performance. Hamlet verbal attacks
his mother and kills Polonius. And after this transpires, Hamlet sees the ghost of his father and his
mother replies, Alas, he s mad! (III. iv.

An Analysis Of Kate Soper s Book The Human
In this analysis, Kate Soper s book The Human In Posthumanism (___) will be studied in regards to
Soper s defence for human exceptionalism between humans and animals. In this text, there is a
strong concern for the depletion of the current ecology and the rise mass consumption, Soper
suggests this is due to our current ideologies of what it means to live a rich lifestyle. The
posthumanist notion of a humananimal blurring is viewed in this text as a change that needs to be
resisted in order to move forward with the worldly issues at stake. However to do this, Soper
suggests there needs to be a sense of self realisation and self recognition that humans are in fact
more exceptional than animals to recognise their [humans] unique responsibilities for creating and
correcting the environmental devastation (pg377)
Humanism of the (___) period viewed science, rationality and reason as the dominant ideology.
This idea took more importance to humans rather than supernatural beings, thus the idea of human
exceptionalism was formed. In The Human in Posthumanism , Soper supports this concept when
she states I submit to defend human exceptionalism, and resist blurring the human animal divide .
However, one could say that her framework for thinking about the exceptionalism of humans is not
based off ideologies of the current time period, rather they are based on her wider concerns for the
planet. She states,
It is not, therefore by the reference to the intrinsic qualities of

Elwood Reid Analysis
Revision Statement The revision process is never easy to begin, but Professor Delp s comments
were definitely a great starting place. The main suggestions were to make sure that everything was
in present tense, cutting down on wordy passages, and correcting some stiff language. I began by
rereading the introduction, and I quickly realized that most of my sentences were awkward and
not connected. The fact that I had misused a semicolon did not help at all. I decided to rewrite my
introduction, making it more straightforward and connecting the universal idea of people doing bad
things to the specific situation of Elwood Reid better. As I continued reading the rest of my paper, I
realized that much of my wordiness and awkward language was due to the fact that I lacked
deeper analysis. To make up for it, I was repetitive with my ideas and just tried to say them in
different places with different words. I could have focused more on how the imagery demonstrated
that Reid was dehumanized, why he chose to use that imagery at that particular point in the essay,
and how it all connected back to him wanting to belong. To help with this, I added another
quotation in my first body paragraph. This quotation also depicted the violence on the field that
Reid wanted to show his readers, but it also explained why Reid played in the savage way that he

more coherent analysis. Those are just some of the things I have learned; this semester I have also
learned different views of looking at the world and using my authentic voice. This revision process

  • 2. Importance of Early Childhood Education Essay Importance of Early Childhood Education Early childhood education is for children from the ages three to eight years old. In this field there are four learning goals that early programs have for a young child. The four learning goals are: knowledge (consists of facts, concepts, ideas, and vocabulary), skills ( small units of action that occur in short period of time), disposition ( respond to certain situations), and feelings ( emotional states) ( Katz 2003). With an successful care giving and early education, it can bring an positive outcome to a child s life. What a child learns in their early years are things that will continue to helps them along in their future in school and in the real world. When a child is introduced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only does early education bring the benefit of interaction, it also lets the child feel loved and have trust in others. If a child is encountered with early programs then they are able to meet the needs of their child stage life. If these needs are not properly met, then they may become less successful in their performance in an educational environment. Learning Opportunities There are many types of learning opportunities that can encourage a child to learn and help to enhance their abilities. Child care centers are a great way to encourage a child to learn, and to be ready for the school atmosphere. The Big Top Child Care Center in Laurel, Maryland have an excellent program for children between two to nine years of age. They have an environment where teachers are well trained and are first aid and CPR certified. They enhance a child s learning by providing them with nutrition, educational field trips, and special events. Elementary schools are the opening door for early childhood education. Children can begin their learning experience in pre kindergarten and kindergarten which are the first grades of elementary education. Ring Factory Elementary located at Harford county in Maryland is a school that has three kindergarten classes that teach five to six year olds the beginning of their educational life. • 3. Imperialism In Central Africa Riches in central Africa. In what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo, there was and still is a plethora of natural resources. Rubber, gold, copper, diamonds and more. That natural wealth has definitely hurt Congo in the past rather than helped. Its resources could have made it one of the wealthiest countries in the world. But yet, this future did not hold true for the Congo. At the turn of the 20th century, King Leopold II began to take notice of the central African country. (National Black United Front). King Leopold II communicated all his ideas and intentions through a speech to European missionaries. (Africa Global Network). In it, his words held the key to all things terrible. Soon, Belgiumtook over the Congo and began one of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The book is a cartoon book about a boy reporter named Tintin traveling to the Congo, much like what the title describes. It shows native Congolese as black skinned and fat lipped, with an almost monkey like appearance. One could catch them saying things like White man very great. White mister is big juju man! (Cendrowicz). Most Congolese now find humor at this book s portrayal of the Congolese natives, but others threatened to sue and ban the book worldwide even 80 years after its publication (Cendrowicz). Although this seems like a sinister book now, it is simply a reflection of what Belgium taught its citizens about the Congo. People can now buy the book with a small warning. Belgian schoolbooks expressed phrases like The intellectual development of the black child stops very early or Negroes are indolent, lazy by nature, lacking in foresight. • 4. Women s Struggle Towards Self Emancipation Throughout Dangarembga s seminal prose novel and BГў s epistolary novel, the authors explore the omnipresent nature of gender inequality in a society and the inequitable standards of life that all women have to either endure or reject. Both texts present their protagonists, Tambudzai and Ramatoulaye one a developing adolescent, the other a widowed mother of twelve, reflecting on the struggles of being women in their respective patriarchal societies of Zimbabwe and Senegal. Through an investigation into the social, cultural and psychological contexts, the texts contribute an understanding into the personal struggles of women through portrayals of the conflicting tensions between patriarchyand the female autonomy, the significance of female solidarity and the woman s struggle towards self emancipation and the resulting formation of identity. Throughout both Nervous Conditions and So Long A Letter, the authors expose the need for women to secure their own individuality by fighting the subjugation from patriarchal structures. In Nervous Conditions, through her utilisation of juxtaposition between the characterisation Maiguru and Lucia, Dangarembga highlights the need to women to take action. Although Maiguru holds a PhD and is equally as capable as her husband, she is restricted by the expectations of her society to do so called feminine tasks such as housework around the house and realises that when I was in England I glimpsed for a little while the things I could have ... • 5. Narcissistic And Cult Leaders Essay Narcissistic and Cult Leaders Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Cult Leaders Every day we face and deal with either small or big issues relating to terrorist leaders from inside and outside of country. During the past decade we have seen North Korean leader, Kim Jung Un, Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro of Cuba, Idi Amain of Uganda and more, who have been described as crazy, cruel, lunatic, madman, psychopath and even worse. How could they acquire all the power, rule over people and become a leader in a country if they were such a psychopath? Ironically, they are just as rational as we are. We simply do not have a full understanding of their personalities, which are unusually different from societal norms and expectation. They are defined as a personality disorder. There are six personality disorders classified: sadistic, antisocial, paranoid, narcissistic, schizoid and schizotypal. Remarkably, most of these cult leaders have been suffering from narcissistic personality disorder, which brings a dictatorship in social relationship and a fatal negative influential to both oneself and others. • 6. Non Fiction Setting There are several aspects that, while not necessarily essential, are very important in creating a story. Note that this only applicable to works of fiction, non fiction is of course based on facts. For a story to be worth reading there should be a main character or characters, a conflict, feeling, a plot, and a setting. Even if this work is a parody of another, the new work should contain the same or similar basic aspects as the original. The first two elements of writingthat can and should be gone through before even writing are the characters and the setting. Most of the time these two will be similar, a cowboy near the Colorado River, the galactic rangers on the ArmД“nГЁ asteroid belt, or the seven knights of HrathgГ r at the gates... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The actions and dialogue of the characters should have a purpose that the reader can look deeper into. The description of people, places, and things should also be a well practiced skill. The main goal should be to leave a lasting impression on the reader. As an example The brave hero stood strong against his terror including foe, the man he once saw as a brother, the mighty dark mage Zerross. Their battle was equally matched, though the mage was pushed farther and farther back with each swing of the hero s mighty sword the mage was pushed farther back. The had also become injured, several broken ribs, a large burn across his war torn chest, and millions of cuts and bruises adorned his body. Zerross began to gather power from around him, and soon started to glow with an ethereal light. However, the hero stood his ground and readied his blade. With the flick of the wrist the dark mage sent out a beam of pure energy with the power to split the earth in two at the hero. In return, the hero simply stood with his sword at his side, and fell to his knees without anymore energy to fight. The beam hit its mark, directly through the hero s heart. The dark mage stood triumphant as the hero fell and the heavens wept. For clarification, these elements are only guidelines. The final product is the expression of the writer, and rightfully so. These aspects are instead meant to help draw in the reader, to make them see the story in their mind as if they were watching a movie. Also, if there is enough of an emotional tie with a character, then that character will be left in the minds of the readers for months or even years. • 11. The Medicare Modernization Act ( Mma ) Background Since the late 1980s, Medicare has reimbursed physician services using the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS), which encompasses 10,000 procedure codes. Each code is assigned resource based relative value units (RVUs), which are designed to reflect physician work, practice expense, and malpractice expense. To adjust for local differences in cost of living, each RVU is modified using geographic practice cost indexes (GPCIs) and then converted to dollars using a conversion factor. This system rewards physicians who produce a high volume of services; not surprisingly, Medicare Part B expenditures have grown rapidly. In FY 1998, the SGR was introduced as an attempt to better manage this spending growth by taking into account several factors, including the expansion of the overall economy. However, because this system didn t fundamentally change the economics of the program, it did not achieve its original objective. With enactment of the Medicare Modernization Act (MMA) in 2003, Medicare began moving toward value based payments, and the introduction of Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010 meant that Medicare accelerated its use of value based payments as a means of improving outcomes and managing overall costs (Wofford, 2015). The care delivery enterprise must be re tooled so that it functions in a fee for value reimbursement environment as is has in a fee for service reimbursement environment. • 14. Depiction of Cultural and Religious Beliefs in Artwork Depiction of cultural and religious beliefs have been an important element in many artworks. The newly formed Early Christian religion, the Roman culture, and the Greek culture are no exception to this occurrence. Though living close in proximity to each other, their views differed vastly, in respect to both religionand culture. Roman and Greek views indulged the here and now , while those views of the Early Christians centered on the hereafter . It is upon the examination of a few artworks taken from either side, that this contrast becomes extremely apparent. Though there was an idea of an afterlife in Roman and Greek mythology, it was generally not taken seriously by the people. Thus the All that is good in this worldly life, is the only good to seek mentality prevailed. In their numerous artworks we see this mentality in the display of scenes of indulgence, of worldly matters, and finery. In fact, the purpose of the artwork itself is that it is meant to be a beautifying piece, to grace the homes and villas, and add to the beauty of this world. In the sculpture Discobolos different aspects of worldly good are identifiable. A youthful man with a well sculpted body poses in a way that accentuates his muscles, as he prepares to throw a discus. The two cases mentioned above are more complex and would fall under the Misappropriation Theory of Insider Trading. This theory uses a corporate outsider (Kaplan, Matteo, Pfeffer). The famous case that put this theory into law books was United States v. O Hagan. In this case: an attorney traded in the stock of a potential takeover target. He learned of the potential takeover from confidential information obtained by his law firm, which represented the company planning the tender offer. Since he was not an officer of the target company, and had no relation to it, the classical theory of insider trading did not apply. The Court held that he was nevertheless guilty of insider trading, reasoning that the attorney owed a fiduciary duty to his law firm, and, by using his law firm s confidential information to trade, he misappropriated such information (Kaplan, Matteo, ... This is shown to highlight the blurring lines between fantasy and reality; and how both lifestyles were seeping into the other. Outside, things have deteriorated significantly. Instead of small scale beatings in darkened alleyways, the Nazi supporters are now running frantically through the streets, yelling, scuffling and exuding power and violence. The celebratory atmosphere inside the club juxtaposed with the violent protests outside in the street is indicative of how, even well into the 1930 s, the German public did not take the Nazi regime seriously and underestimated their hostility and prejudice against minority groups. The costuming of the dancers in The Nazi Occupation is significant because the red, black and white costuming is reflective of the Swastika flag and the uniforms of the Nazi soldiers. This subtle detail, especially after the snare drum sounded and the lighting changed, enhanced the interdependent nature of the fantasy and reality worlds presented in The German Slapping Dance and The Nazi Occupation by highlighting the similarities between the dancers onstage and the German Army. The use of the cane as a prop also accentuates the mimicry of the German Army as the dancers manipulate the canes to look like rifles over their shoulders. The Development Of Sustainable Development Sustainable development is defined in many methods, but the official definition is explained through Our Common Future: Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It contains two key concepts: the concept of needs, in particular the essential needs of the world s poor, to which overriding priority should be given; and the idea of limitations imposed by the state of technology and social organization on the environment s ability to meet present and future needs. From my point of view, there are three key points existing in this explanation: the needs of each class in the society, the limitation of development as well as the demands of present and future generation. These three points will be analyzed in detail below. In fact, mass tourism has provided a relevantly equal opportunity for people that they can treat themselves to the pleasure of tourism. However, the holiday might be destroyed because of the crowed heritage sites and expensive price. The needs of present visitors may not be achieved. Meanwhile, the valued heritages might be undermined over time, which means that if heritage resources are overdeveloped without any limitation, the identity and culture of local community will disappear with the vanishing of regional heritages in the future. The needs of future generation about heritage tourism cannot be met. Thus, the first thing of sustainable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The litigants belonging to un privileged segment of the society are bound to be at a disadvantage as against an economically strong opponent under the adversarial system because difficulty in securing a competent legal representation also due to inability to produce relevant pieces of evidence before the courts. Hence, when approached the courts for enforcement of their FRs, it became necessary to lay down new procedure, to make this possible by the courts. New tools were forged for making the FRs meaningful to the large segments of people . So in cases where poor litigants or citizens bona fide approached the courts, they could not expect the formers to produce relevant material before them in support of their case. The adoption of a passive approach and declining to intervene would render FRs a teasing illusion for such litigants. The appropriate answer was the judicial evolution of appointment of commissions for gathering facts and data with respect to a complaint of a violation of a FR made on behalf of weaker segments. Matt was born into a fourth generation New York City family, his mother a writer and teacher, and his father a documentary film maker. He attended public elementary school, which he described as a big institution with no soul, 6 and then the Fieldston High School, a private institution. • 35. Themes In The Great Gatsby Time. It affects all of what we know and are. Living in the past can affect your present, and living in the future can affect your present. We see that as we read both The Great Gatsby and The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock . Three common themes arise in both of these literatures. Those themes are: mortality, memories/the past, and isolation. When we realize that we are not immortal, we then tend to focus on our past or our memories we have made because those are what we lived for because we don t want to be isolated when we are older. They may not seem like they are connected, but all three of these very much so affect one s life and how they live it. That is shown throughout the characters narrated. In The Great Gatsby , some of the characters know that they are past their prime. They don t need to be the center of attention or anything like that because they understand that it isn t their time to shine anymore. That s shown in this example: I belong to another generation... As for me, I am fifty years old, and I won t impose myself on you any longer. They have accepted that they are not it anymore. Even though the theme is common between both passages, it means something different in The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. The meaning is different here because the author knew he was past his prime and all that he had done means nothing now. He doesn t care about the big, glamorous things anymore but moreso the simplistic things in life. Like whether to roll his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Coah Boone reveals authority and confidence when he is coach, regardless of he is black in the community, he divides both the races of players to sit and sleep together at the camp no matter what race they are in which he hopes that it would unite the players. He wants them to be familiar and understand each other as a team. On the other hand, Coah Yoast also uncovers adroit and responsibility with regards to racism , when his players run toward the African Americans at the beginning of the movie, he runs a car ahead of them to stop them from it and he is dependably affably taking to the African Americans unlike his daughter. He comprehends the issues and know how to manage it without aggravation. He needs each race to understand how each race or individual can acquire an alternate perspective or can act as a helping hand that would profit the team in the future. Bill Yoast likewise utilizes his power by concentrating on completing the works, unlike Coach Boone, he is willing to lose his Hall of Fame nomination in the Regional Final game. Reflection Paper On Perseverance Research Reflection Before I began researching I was really passionate about the ability to persevere and I knew I wanted to talk about perseverance and explain why it was such an essential characteristic to have. I especially wanted to find examples of many others that had to persevere to get through their own tough times. But when I originally started researching my topic I did not exactly have anything in mind about what I was exactly looking for. This was mainly due to that I had the ideas in my head but did not know how to put those in a way that I could deliver it for the whole class to understand. So as I began researching I focused on just using perseverance in school, like not giving up after not getting a concept the first time. But after looking through a few articles I found many examples of when perseverance was used in other ways, such as building things for society or ways in which one can be successful. This then broadened my perspective on perseverance and showed me the benefits of it. The Grit: the Power of Passion and Perseverance. Ted Talk video was extremely helpful for my research since it gave me numerous amounts of examples of how the main thing that distinguishes kids for who they are is perseverance. I found out that one s intelligence quality is not determined by their test scores, but rather it is determined by how they improve on making those test scores the best they can be. • 41. Solon Vs Solon What is the underlying mechanism that causes the downfall of leaders and the collapse of societies? A superstitious individual could attribute these transitions to the gods. Solon, ancient Athenian poet and political philosopher, would disagree with this sentiment and argue that it is men themselves who cause their own destruction. Often, the unwillingness of rulers to hear and understand the potential dangers of their greed and selfishness starts this process. To ascertain the best possible choice, one must look to the future. What are the plausible outcomes and pitfalls of one s decisions? A failure to consider this question and a lack of foresight is where many go wrong. In both Herodotus representation of Solon and in his own poetry, Solon is a wise man who devotes his entire life to his objectives and warns foolish leaders of their irresponsibility. He offers a political ideology about the rise and fall of powerful men and great empires. This can be briefly summarized by Herodotus when he says human prosperity never abides long in the same place (Herodotus 1.5.3 4). However, the representations of Solon are in some ways different. For example, the Herodotean version uses anecdotes to teach moral lessons, while the lyric Solon explicitly lays out his grievances against the Athenian oligarchy and proposes ways to reform Athens. Solon s reformations brought Athens out of an age of treachery and lawlessness rife with dishonest, unjust and essentially criminal rulers. He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Difference Between Alland And Alice In Wonderland After reading Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and then watching the Disney movie Alice in Wonderland, I found that there were a couple of main plot differences. A main plot difference was that the poem the Caterpillar asked Alice to Recite was different in the book than it was in the movie. In the movie, Alice recited a poem titled How Doth the Little Crocodile, and in the book she recites the poem titled You Are Old, Father William. The Caterpillar is also portrayed much meaner throughout the movie compared to the book. At the end of the book, Alice woke up her sister and told her about the dreams that she had. It turned out that the sister also dreamt something very similar. In the movie though, Alice had woken up her parents. I feel that the meaning between the two different poems that are read aloud by Alice are very different. One being more a story to follow and the other being a short riddle to solve. Each of them are important, but in a movie context, I feel that the short riddle is a little easier to follow. Wonderland is not supposed to make much sense, so if the riddle confuses the viewer, they are able to think that it is just another silly part of Wonderland. The Caterpillar was not the nicest character to Alice throughout the book, but after watching the movie I realized that that was probably the nicest the author could have made him. Reducing The Risk Of Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia Reducing the Risk of Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia through Head of Bed Elevation The American Thoracic Society (1996) defines ventilator acquired pneumonia or VAP as the specified type of nosocomial pneumonia that occurs after the first 48 hours of initiating mechanical ventilation. One of the major causes of mortality among infections acquired at the hospital is VAP. Once a patient develops VAP he/she will have to spend to longer amount of time in the ICU (Rello et al.,1996). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The various factors that increase a patient s susceptibility to VAP are discussed by Cook et al.(1998). Background of study It has been found that the chances of developing nosocomial pneumonia is reduced by situating seriously ill ventilated patients in a semi recumbent position. The goal of this experiment is to compare and contrast between the effects of the present standard degree of bed head elevation (i.e. 25 В°) and 45В° elevation on the occurrence of VAP. The incidence of VAP can be prevented/reduced in the hospitals by taking nursing measures. Elevation of head of bed is one among them. Nurses should maintain the angle of 45 degree of bed head elevation all times to reduce the risk of aspiration. The flat position increases the risk of aspiration. The main purpose of this study is to understand whether or not increasing the standard degree of bed head elevation will help minimize the occurrence of VAP. Methods of study The method adopted was quantitative in nature, using a randomized controlled trial. In order to achieve this, 71 adult patients were assessed for eligibility and among this 59 met the given criteria. They were randomly categorized into treatment groups consisting of 29 patients and a control group consisting of 27 patients. The posthumanist notion of a humananimal blurring is viewed in this text as a change that needs to be resisted in order to move forward with the worldly issues at stake. However to do this, Soper suggests there needs to be a sense of self realisation and self recognition that humans are in fact more exceptional than animals to recognise their [humans] unique responsibilities for creating and correcting the environmental devastation (pg377) Humanism of the (___) period viewed science, rationality and reason as the dominant ideology. This idea took more importance to humans rather than supernatural beings, thus the idea of human exceptionalism was formed. In The Human in Posthumanism , Soper supports this concept when she states I submit to defend human exceptionalism, and resist blurring the human animal divide . The main suggestions were to make sure that everything was in present tense, cutting down on wordy passages, and correcting some stiff language. I decided to rewrite my introduction, making it more straightforward and connecting the universal idea of people doing bad things to the specific situation of Elwood Reid better. As I continued reading the rest of my paper, I realized that much of my wordiness and awkward language was due to the fact that I lacked deeper analysis. To make up for it, I was repetitive with my ideas and just tried to say them in different places with different words. I could have focused more on how the imagery demonstrated that Reid was dehumanized, why he chose to use that imagery at that particular point in the essay, and how it all connected back to him wanting to belong.
