2. Ronald Reagan Deployed Troops In Grenada
On October 25, 1983 Ronald Reagan sent 1,000 troops to the island of Grenada to
ensure the safety of Americans studying medicine in the local hospital. In 1979,
Maurice Bishop took power in Grenada and had close relations with Cuba which
was communist. Bishops was then assassinated by Bernard Coard who established a
communist government. This is the reason that Reagan deployed troops in Grenada.
He didn t want the influence of a Marxist government on the Americans. Many
Americans were unsure of the invasion. But Reagan saw it as a victory because
they were able to roll back Communist influence in the area. Coard s government fell
apart and the US brought in a leader who was approved by the United States. We also
brought back the Grenada
3. Abc Learning Case Study
Overview of the Business:
ABC Learning Ltd was an Australian provider of early child hood education
services, founded in Queensland in 1988, that through its 18 centres was the largest
single operator of early childhood education services in Australia by 1997. Led by
founder Eddy Groves, ABC Learning Ltd continued to grow, through the opening of
new centres and the acquisitions of rivals i.e. peppercorn Childcare in 2004 in
which 450 centres were purchased for $340 million. By 2008, ABC Learning was the
largest provider of childcare, holding around 20 per cent of the long day care market
and providing care to over 100 000 children (Senate education, employment workplace
relations committee, 2009).

proceedings regarding interparty transactions, this was certainly news worthy, and
damaged the company s reputation and slowed investor confidence. Additionally, the
price paid to companies was deemed to be above market norms, siphoning more
money from the companies depleted coffers.
Critics are focused on the mess of the books for ABC Learning Centres Ltd,
specifically the complex way in which revenue and profits were accounted for,
particularly the way compensation payments from centre developers were counted as
revenue (Thompson 2008). The Financial position of ABC Learning centres was
misrepresented and projected a positive image of the financials, until Auditors Ernst
and Young were required to pour over the books after the collapse.
All of these issues are summed up in Thompsons (2008) assertion that Groves was the
right man to grow the business but not the right man to manage the business, had the
right manager been in place then the organization may have been able to turn its
fortunes around.

A Feminist criticism on how Males and Females are portrayed in Hills like White
Elephants In Ernst Hemingway s story Hills like White Elephants, the male and
female characters are portrayed in a stereotypical male dominated relationship. The
male main character the man is portrayed as the influential character who is subtly
persuading the main femalecharacter. The female main character the girl is portrayed
as the passive and impressable character who can be swayed by the man. There are
several examples of how the man uses his dominance in the relationship to persuade
the girl to make a decision on whether or not to get an abortion. The first example is
seen when the man starts talking to the girl after they have had

Hereafter...
1.Introduction Today, the Internet is rapidly becoming powerful the decision
making tool for the accommodation promotion purchase process. The sales of
world accommodation are estimated at US$789bn (Ward, 2013). The main
purpose of this study is to thorough review online accommodation processes
literature and hereafter map demarcate attitude patterns during the process. The
goal of this research is to put forward a statistically based framework based on
clickstream/log file analysis of both the internal and external impacts of the
process. The internal process impacts (the individual themselves, search engines,
third parties/social media sites and hotel websites) and the external process
impacts (online access devices and user visual interaction) are inspected before
being formulated into proposed online accommodation process framework.
2.Theoretical Background 2.1Clickstream/Log File Analytics of the Process
Bucklin and Sismeiro (2009) has described that clickstream data as the electronic
record of a user s traffic on the Internet. It gives information such as the pages or
the path viewed by user. However, click stream data is virtually bootless to raw
coded format. This raw data is converted by log file analysis tools, which compile
raw data into human understandable reports (Ramey, 2000). Click stream data has
most advantages to identify the user s attitude in analysing the online accommodation
process. They are a valuable cornerstone for continuous website design
6. Police Discrimination In America
How many blacks are killed by the police every year in the United States, and how
does this affect people today? Well it depends on who you ask.
Our federal government tries to track this population with databases from the
National Vital Statistics system, which involves coordination between different state
health departments, and its information depends on death certificates that involve
police. According to this database in 2017, 223 African Americans (23%) died from
police last year (most being unarmed) while being only 14% of the United States
population.
This information proves how people discriminate against blacks across America, by
having blacks being almost one fifth of the population killed by police. How does
discrimination ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But our past doesn t affect our future. We must learn to forget and move on from
the past. The thing is that any form of hate including discrimination comes from
self motivated experience or what the surrounding world wants you to think. For
example, slavery, it was wrong, so our government banned it. However, that
ideology of having someone less than you, breed the police brutality that we see
today. Those officers used their occupation as a conduit for a reason to show their
hatred, but all they needed to do was forgive and forget because hatred breeds
7. Examples Of External Conflict In The Homecoming
Conflict is one of the most important elements in literature. It is the driving force of
plots, and it helps to reveal each character s personality and beliefs. There are two
types of conflict; Internal and External. The only kind of internal conflict is Person
vs. Self, but there are three commonly occurring External conflicts; Person vs.
Person, Person vs. Society, and Person vs. Nature. In the novella The Homecoming
many conflicts occur throughout the storyline. One of the underlying conflicts that
influences the story line is Becky vs. Patty Cake; Person vs. Person. Patty Cake is
the youngest, most spoiled Spencer, and she is easily frightened and upset. Becky is
13 years old, and the sassiest, most rebellious Spencer, constantly getting... Show

This Person vs. Person conflict adds to the storyline by revealing the sisters
character, and incorporating a constant stream of tears on Patty Cake s part, and
punishment on Becky s.Another conflict is Clay Boy struggling to get through the
winter storm; a Person vs. Nature conflict. When Clay Boy walks to the bar
seeking Charlie Sneed, he wraps himself up warmly in a coat, hat, scarf, and
mittens, but he still finds difficulty finding his way through the blinding snow and
hard wind. Again, when he is struggling to find his way to the black church, the
weather fights against him. He can see nothing at all, and almost loses the road
multiple times. Finally Clay Boy finds ways to get through the blizzard, first by
horseback, and then by sleigh. Although the brutal storm inhibits him throughout the
story, Clay Boy still gets where he needs to be. A third conflict in the story Olivia s
struggle with her belief in miracles; Person vs. Self. Her internal battle first begins
when the children are getting ready to go see the miracle in the stable, and ask her to
join them. Olivia then realizes that she doesn t believe the legend

Trouble...
1. What features of American society seem most to trouble the authors of the Port
Huron Statement? When writing the Port Huron Statement, its authors explicitly
mentioned two key features of American society that they found troubling. First, they
considered the presence of racism and overall bigotry in the American South as ...the
permeating and victimizing fact of human degradation (Foner 283). The authors
acknowledged the presence of practices that essentially dehumanized African
Americans in the South, claiming that its existence is what ...compelled most of us
from silence to activism (Foner 283). In addition to this, the authors of the Port
Huron Statement were also troubled by the existence of the atom bomb and the
possibility that an all out nuclear war could break out at any given moment. It is
stated that the presence of the bomb brought awareness that ...we ourselves, and our
friends, and millions of abstract others...might die at any time (Foner 283). While
contemplating the aforementioned problems in American society, the authors of the
Port Huron Statement also began to rethink the American ideal that all men are
created equal , finding paradoxes between the claim and what was really occurring in
American society. They stated that the declaration ...rang hollow before the facts of
Negro life in the South (Foner 283) and was contradicted by the United States
...economic and military investments in the Cold War status quo (Foner 283). These

The competitors can try to make a distinctive product or release the improved
version of the firm s product. Extensive differentiation can have a reverse effect of
losing the current customers. Differentiation is expected to be a continuous process.
The current differentiation can become obsolete in the short run and the customer
becomes more knowledgeable about the product and their needs and perception

strategy which is applicable for the firms that are operating in a narrow competitive
scope or Niche Market. The strategy is applied based on the market segmentation. It
can be segmented based on location, specific income group (usually high income

The major objective of Best cost provider strategy is to give the customers value for
their money. This is an attempt to give the customers the products that exceeds their
expectations at a price equal or lesser than the competitors. When a company can
build on its core competencies and give enhanced product at a lesser price, it enjoys
maximum profitability. It is hybrid model between low cost provider and
differentiation strategy. This strategy adopts the best of both the strategies .i.e.
economies in cost and at the same time differentiation in the features. This strategy
works best in the market where the characteristics of price sensitivity and diversity in
buyer s preference exists. The biggest limitation of best cost provider strategy is
failing in executing the strategy and falling prey for the limitations of both cost
leadership and differentiation

Introduction
The best selling novel, The Time Machine, is written by H.G. Wells. H.G. Wells is
also known as The Father of Science Fiction. Wells has written many books that has
influenced our vision of the future, The Time Machine, being his first and foremost
novel. The Time Machine is the story of the Time Traveler who invents the machine,
his adventures while traveling, and his recounting of the tale to the narrator and
friends gathered in his home.
Key Idea 1 The beginning of the book is very intriguing, pulling readers into the
book and making them want to read more. The book begins in the Time Traveler s
home, where he and his guests are having dinner and discussing his theories about
time and time travel. When the Time Traveler tells the guests he can actually do it,
they are skeptical. The Time Traveler s colleagues bombard him with protestations
and thought provoking questions. This part of the book makes the reader wonder
what the outcome of time traveling might be but it is obvious that the Time Traveler
wholeheartedly believes in time travel.
Key Idea 2 In a moment my hand was on the lever and I had placed a month between
myself and these monsters. What a classic, wonderfully imaginative science fiction
sentence. The story is completely and utterly engrossing. The fact that the book was
published in 1895 and science lovers can still love and appreciate this book and H.G.

13. Reginald Rose s 12 Angry Men
The Sixth Amendment was instituted to protect the rights of the accused, but the
play 12 Angry Men and recent cases, have shown that poverty stricken citizens are
treated unjustly by the American court system. In the play, 12 Angry Men, written
by Reginald Rose, a nineteen year old boy is accused of the murder of his father.
Throughout the play, the jurors argue the boy s innocence and guilt. Juror Four
argues that, [...] slums are breeding grounds for criminals [...]. The children that
come out of slum backgrounds are potential menaces to society (Rose I. 21). Juror
Four, as well as ten other jurors, all agree that because the boy came from a bad
background, he is destined to be a criminal and should be executed for the murder.

Religious traditions and beliefs sets form the core of knowledge and attitudes of a
religion towards sometimes controversial topics; two of the often overlooked
subjects in today s society are death and destiny. Each person s interpretations of
their own religion s set beliefs can largely impact their own live and the way they see
these topics. Reform Judaism, Orthodox Judaism and Catholicism have varied beliefs
when it comes to their traditional teachings of death and destiny.
Catholicism is one of the many braches of Christianity. The foundational text for the
Catholicism is the Bible, which Catholics believe is the inspired, error free, and
revealed word of God. However the Encyclical, Catechism and Magisterium are also
teachings that guide Catholics look to for answers regarding death and destiny. One
of the core beliefs of the catholic religion is that baptism, the rite of becoming a

In the world of technology communication has become easier than ever. The world
has now shrunk from a vast populated land to a network of communicating
individuals living in a global village. People from all over the globe have come

a click away.
In this ever growing network of people a new theory has emerged, the idea of 6
degrees of separation. The idea behind this is that between you and any another
person in the world is only a chain no longer than six people. This emphasizes the
significance of online communication and the way it has made the world a whole lot
smaller.
This is the power of social media and the developments in online communication. A
happening in one part of the world reaches to the second part in a matter of seconds.
Imagine if that news or happening was about you. The significance of this
technology is the ease it provides. Using this tool to your advantage can give you a
large number of benefits.

In the introduction of his book Romanticism, Aiden Day quotes The Oxford
Companion to English Literature as saying that Romanticism is
A literary movement and profound shift in sensibility, which took place in Britain and
throughout Europe roughly between 1770 and 1848. Intellectually it marked a
violent reaction to the Enlightenment. Politically it was inspired by the revolutions in
America and France... Emotionally it expressed an extreme assertion of the self and
the value of individual experience... together with the sense of the infinite and the
transcendental. Socially it championed progressive causes. The stylistic keynote of
Romanticism is intensity, and its watchword is Imagination . (qtd. in Day,

there is still evidence of her radical leanings throughout her writing (Day 31).
While in some of her work such as The Old Manor House it is not made obvious,
the same cannot be said for all of her work. For example, in her poem The Emigrants

Information based strategy (IBS) allowed Capital One to achieved competitive
advantages in credit card industry. And it is mainly relied on information and data
gathered. The following discussed the consequences for expansion into different
segments of the credit card industry.

As what the other credit card companies do, Capital One also categorized their
customers into 3 groups (prime, super prime and sub prime) for better collecting the
information and data and building statistical models. The cardholders are categorized
by using a system called horizontal accounting . The company is then able to provide

The painting has some bright colors on the clothes of the people. The colors of the
clothes are mostly pink, blue or red. The background of the entire piece is gold as
well as the frame it is in. The frame is very detailed in the spirals and branching off
decorative pieces, it looks like the opening to a cathedral. The people are drawn
out very well, 22 people in the entire painting. The painting is a 2D painting as
well. The lines on the clothing make it look realistic as well as the facial
expressions of those in the paintings. The lighting is very bright making it look
almost regal. The entire background of the painting is entirely gold. There are also
gold highlights in the shape of circles circling everyone s heads in the painting.
The painting itself is not too big, not more than 1 2 feet in length and 3 feet in
height with the frame included. In the picture there are a lot of objects, there are
two musicians with a violin and a harp. Other objects include books, most likely
Bibles, a cross, a crown, a huge cathedral like stage that Mary and Jesus sit upon,
and possibly a sword. The Coronation of the Virgin was painted between the time of
1370 1380. This painting was painted by Andrea di Cione, also called Orcagna, and
Jacopo di Cione. Jacopo di Cione was Orcagna s brother, they did not work on a lot
of paintings together. The artists were from Florence, Italy. The painting is tempera
on a panel. One of the symbols of course is the golden circles. The circles stand

My College and Career choices
My three college choices are University of Florida, University of Seattle and Ohio
University. Each of these colleges have good qualities for my careers. I m not very
sure what exactly I want to have a career in. Two of my main choices are
veterinarian or child care. Some of my concerns are the distance, cost of tuition, the
quality of the program, and the recreation at the colleges. University of Florida is my
first choice. The tuition for my enrollment would be $6,270. With this college there
are 16 programs for this university. For each semester you need to have 15 credits.

Some of these are team sports for basketball, football and more. They also have an
amazing band. Ohio State is very close to home. and is in state.
I talked about how I wasn t really sure what I wanted to do as my career. I thought
of either child care or veterinarian. Job requirements for child care are you have to
be able to take act in a emergency situation. You need to be able to connect with
kids and show them you care. This is a very social job too. Working conditions for
this job could be outside, inside, at home, at a day care, or in a school. The job
requirements for a veterinarian is you need the skills. You need to have passion for
animals, you need business skills, and social skills. The working conditions for this
job can be in a clinic and/or outside. This job can be a traveling job, such as farms or
other homes.
The salary for child care can range from $45,000 to 116,000. The salary range for a
veterinarian is from $49,000 to $113,000. These are really good paying jobs that
could really provide enough for me. The benefits for child care are you get to interact
with kids and connect to them on another level. The benefits for veterinarian are
interacting with animals and to help their needs and stay alive.
These are to good supporting jobs. There are more and more clinics for vets and
children. I feel I will probably end up working for someone close and then try to start
my own business in Florida. Both of these
26. The Perpetuation of Racism in Canada by the Mainstream...
The Perpetuation of Racism in Canada by the Mainstream News Media
Canada is internationally renowned for its commitment to multiculturalism. In fact,
Canada was the first nation to officially adopt a multicultural policy. However, while
the Canadian government has developed a broad based multicultural mandate that
includes a national human rights code and increased penalties for hate motivated
crimes, and most Canadians oppose overt forms of discrimination and hate, racism
continues to exist in Canadian society, albeit in a subtle fashion.
Many theorists lay blame for the perpetuation of racism in Canadian society on the
mainstream news media, arguing that racist preconceptions are reflected and
reinforced through the use of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, theorists contend that the news media has a much larger role in shaping
the way members of a society think and behave. For example, Wilson and Gutierrez
argue that the news media plays a central role in defining society (by virtue of its
surveillance and informer functions) through the reinforcement of standards, norms,
and values. 4 Likewise, J. R. Ponting, in his analysis of stereotyping of Aboriginals in
Canada, notes that the news media imposes a culturally racist model of Canadian
society by using ethno specific values and norms. 5 In addition, Todd Ferguson, a
Montreal based social activist, argues that the news media constructs status quo
reality through the process of legitimisation and reinforcement of standards and
norms. 6 That is, the media transmits and reinforces culturally specific standards (i.e.
beliefs, images, norms, and values) by selecting value laden news coverage.
Augie Fleras and John Lock Kunz further the argument, pointing out that what
appears as mainstream and unbiased is, in actuality, socially constructed. Fleras and
Kunz point out that news items (i.e. the events or issues that are covered) are chosen
by personnel (such as editors) on the basis of personal, institutional, corporate, and
commercial priorities. 7 In other words, the news media is market driven. The
mainstream news media, therefore, are not merely

Spectacle and threacality are the use of light and shados to create a spot light
effect, a term knows as tenebrism. This effect mainly focuses on the on the human
drama and main characters of the story. When looking at the painting you will see
that the background and the surrounding corners are very dark and shadowy in
color, however the chief priest sodiers dressed in balck donot seems to dispear. The
artist used bright and vabrime colors to reflect not only on the faces of the figures,
but alos on their skin and clothing. The skin of the men in the artpiece glose in the

attribute of the stylistic period is human drama. The man standing behind Christ

position of his eyes suggests street, fear, and disbelieve. He crush his hands together

29. Total Equality Analysis
The Societal Problems of Total Equality
I m the Greatest man you ll never know (2081). Harrison Bergeron was indeed the
greatest character never known in his society. 2081 and Harrison Bergeron tell of the
futuristic society who citizens that excel in normal activities are handicapped to meet
the normal population standards. In Harrison Bergeron and the short film 2081, the
author and director use similar and different plot structures and characteristics. Each
similarity and difference show that limiting variation in a society is dangerous.
Harrison Bergeron and the short film 2081 have many similar elements in plot
structure and characteristics. For example, The year was 2081, and everybody was
finally equal. They weren t only equal before the law. They were equal in every
which way (Vonnegut 38). 2081 choose to incorporate the same beginning narration
in the short story. This element sets up the viewer s expectations for the plot and
contributes to the idea of what Vonnegut portrays as the conflict of interest in the
story. Harrison does not want society to be equal and tries to overthrow the
government to change that because he sees the problems with total equality in
society. In addition, both the film and short story show how handicaps negatively
affect society through Harrison father, George. In 2081, George is shown with a
handicap that plays sharp sounds such as a pin hitting a milk bottle to impair his
thought process. This detail shows how the

32. The United States And Latin America
When looking at the history between the United States and Latin America, you see
many interactions between them, all that aided the relationship that they have today.
Despite that the United States and Latin America are in the same part of the world,
the beliefs in which they govern may differ. This difference has often been seen
playing a major role in the disputes that have occurred in past. The United Statesand
Latin America have faced many social, economical and governing barriers in forming
a strong and positive relationship in the early twentieth century, this is due to the
differences that the two had between cultures and the constant demand for power.
However, the two countries have found ways to meet in the middle of their cultural
differences, to form an equally fair relationship.
At the start of the 19th century, just a few years prior to the end of the Spanish
American War, Latin America was left with a poor economy and in debt. The
United States believed that they could help Latin America, while helping themselves
out at the same time. The Dollar Diplomacy was introduced in 1904 by the United
Sates and went into place in 1909. It was used mostly during presidency William
Howard Taft s from 1910 to 1913
The Dollar Diplomacy had the United States pay the debts that Latin America had to
other countries from previous loans. In return the United States had an opportunity to
sell American goods in the Latin America market, which would unknowingly expand

33. Social Violation Theory Vs Social Judgment Theory
Understanding yourself is an important step of effectively communicating with
others. The two theories presented this week were both interesting topics as they
provided me with an opportunity to look at my own behaviors in introspection.
The theories for this weeks discussion are the social judgement theory and the
expectancy violations theory. The social judgement theory is a theory by Muzafer
Sherif who was a social psychologist at the University of Oklahoma. Sherif
theorized that When we receive new information, we internally compare it to our
point current point of view to see where it should be placed on an attitude scale. He
believed that on any given topic there is a scale that represents our attitude towards
a subject. This includes our latitude of rejection, latitude of acceptance and latitude
of noncommitment. The latitude of rejection is the viewpoints we are more likely
to reject within the topic at hand, the lattitude of acceptance is the range of ideas
that we find to be acceptable and the latitude of noncommitment cover the ideas
where we are open to be swayed either way. If we are heavily biased one way or
another, sherif indicates that we are liked ego involved. Our... Show more content on

While it s posible to feel passionate about middle of the road positions, social
judgement researchers find that massive attidue anchors are usually located
towards the end of the scale (Griffin, Ledbetter, Sparks, 1994, pg. 180). The more
passionate we are about a subject, the less flexible we are when hearing the
opinions of others. In speaking with others, Sherif suggests if our message is within
the listeners latitude of rejection it can have a negative impact on the conversation
and push the listener away. He indicates to have a positive impact on someone who
is ego involved in a subject to approach the topic from within our listener s lattitude
of acceptance or lattitude of

I was in English 111 this semester and this is my self assessment on how I did in the

the class met. I did very well in this area and rate myself a 9 because I had my
books, binder, pens, and my assignments completed that needed to be brought to
class every time that the class met. I know I did not do good with being prepared
for some of my meeting but there were certain circumstances that kept me from

prepared for meetings with the teacher in my next English class. I will change this

I will discuss my performance and progress based on two areas of writing in the class.
The two areas I will reflect on are my essay writing and following the MEAL plan in

36. Andrea Del Castagno Analysis
During the Renaissance, a religious view of the world made a huge impact on art.
The biblical character David became an emerging popular subject among artists.
Although David s story is quite simple, artists faced challenges creating a visual
representation of the young hero. The two main obstacles were discovering how to
portray the body committing the act, and also rendering the spirit of the act itself.
Among the artists who tried to recreate this story visually were Andrea del Castagno
and Andrea del Verrocchio. Castagno introduced his form of the Davidthrough
painting. The piece was entitled David with the Head of Goliath, and was originally
used as a parade shield. It differed from common parade shields, which were
decorated with simple coat and arms, due to its rare painted scene. The shield was
believed to have been carried in civic or religious processions or have... Show more

His David is depicted in a confident pose after the battle with Goliath is already
won, while Castagno depicts David in both the moment of fighting the giant and
after defeating him. Both art works show Goliath s head under David s feet, but
Castagno tells more of the biblical story in his imagery and action. The piece being
painted upon a shield also plays a testimonial role. In the Old Testament, David is a
young shepherd; he uses the motive that if God protects his sheep than God too
will protect him before going into battle with Goliath. By painting this imagery on
a shield, one can conclude that God is David s shield (David). Verrocchio s work
lacks this deeper analytical meaning. Andrea del Castagno s David with Head of
Goliath stands 45 1/2 x 30 1/8 inches wide at the top and 45 1/2 x 16 inches wide at
the bottom. The work was made of tempera on leather on wood. Castagno painted
the piece in about 1450/1455. The work was part of the Widener Collection, at the
National Gallery of Art

38. The Legal Treatment Of Interns
Over the past five years there have been major developments in the legal treatment of
interns which have driven significant changes in the way companies approach
internship programs. In 2010, the Department of Labor issued Fact Sheet #71, which
provided guidelines as to the application of the Fair Labor Standards Act to
internships. Most notable was the requirement that a sponsor of an unpaid internship
may derive no immediate advantage from the activities of the intern(United Stated
Department of Labor, 2010). These standards were subsequently adopted by courts in
litigation over unfair labor practices in internship programs. According to Lorenz
Thomas (2015), there is widespread opinion that this means an unpaid intern cannot...

Internships can no longer be considered a laissez faire practice. The practical effect is
that there is little meaningful distinction in today s environment between an intern
who performs productive work, and an employee. These external legal factors suggest
that internships in the future may be, in part, a way of managing what Ivancevic,
Konopaske, Matteson refer to as the psychological contract (Ivancevich, Konopaske,
Matteson, 2014, p. 133). In other words, interns may be treated as employees in the
current legal environment, but remain interns for the purposes of employer/employee
expectations as to things like long term employment prospects and compensation.
Employers can no longer view interns as a source of free labor. Employers must be
prepared to commit more resources to their internship programs if they want to keep
them, without being sued. At the same time, employers can use internship programs
as a way of recruiting and training potential employees without the same level of
commitment as full time employees. Even so, the increased risk and resource
requirements attached to internship programs are likely to lead to greater employer
expectations as to intern performance. Based on this analysis of the external trends in
internship program practices, any internship program should be fully committed to
complying with all worker protection and labor laws. Companies should clearly
communicate their expectations to prospective

No one would had imagined a woman governing over Texas, a state ruled by
conservative white cowboys. Ann Richards was the second woman to become the
Lieutenant Governor of Texas in 1990. She became the hero of minorities, woman,
gay men, and lesbians, and worked for a New Texas where opportunities and power
would be given to those groups. Ann Richardsis known as the most efficient person
in a line of long Texasprogressives who fought for control over Texas when the state
was a Democratic Stronghold . Her loss against Gorge W. Bush after her first term as
governor, was a strong indication that the generations of Democrats ruling Texas had

Before Ann Richards made a career in politics, she had a career as a mother and wife.
Ann was born in Waco, Texas on September 1 of 1933. Waco back then was

Growing up I used to think sweat was the norm for unhealthy people. My
grandmother was over 300 pounds and she always used to sweat. When she got
up, sat down, walked to the kitchen or even going to the restroom, sweat would be
dripping from her forehead. I thought it was gross. There was times I wouldn t eat
because I thought about gaining weight and sweating all of the time. As I got
older and during school recess I noticed my body would start sweating the harder I
was playing with my friends. At that point, I started to worry and think it was my
weight. I attended a Physical Education class and before we were advised of our
daily activities we talked about being healthy. One of the topics we discussed was
sweat. Sweat is produced by sweat glands in the body, which produce a watery fluid

During exercise our body temperature and heart rate is increasing which will cause
the body to produce sweat. The sweat can continue until the body temperature gets
back to normal. I work out at least 4 days out of the week and during exercise I
actually enjoy sweating. It keeps me motivated to keep going and at the end I feel
a whole lot better. It helps me release any build up stress and tension I may have at
the moment. In addition to sweat while exercising being acceptable there s some
foods that you eat that can make you sweat also. Spicy foods! I am not a lover for
spicy foods but every now and then I do enjoy putting hot sauce on my food or getting
hot wings. When I get spicy foods not only do I start sweating but my nose starts
running as well. Sweat is produced when eating spicy food because the substance
capsaicin, which is found in spicy foods, stimulates sensors in the mouth which are
normally involved in sweating. These two ways would be considered acceptable

41. Summary Of The Real Story Of A Cowboy s Life
Throughout cowboy s lives they had many struggles with their cattle drives. With
these hardships came other challenges that accompanied them. In Geoffrey C.
Ward s historical essay, The Real Story of a Cowboy s Life, he mentions how cattle
herder s lived their lives during the cowboy era. Within this way of life, ranchers
persevered through the difficulties of stampedes, monotony, and settlers/ Native
Americans. Although cowboys earned money for their jobs, they also had a price
to pay for painful and dangerous stampedes. Often cow hands would fall off their
horse and were dragged in the stampede, that was unfortunate for them. If the
herdsmen s horses falls and breaks its leg it could lead to the person getting
dragged or killed. Stampedes could happen at any time so the cowmen had to
always be ready. Mostly they could happen by loud noise or other animals, mainly
gunshots and coyotes. If ... the cattle started running you d hear that low rumbling

their time, but there could be consequences if they did drink. Gambling along with
gun play was prohibited to cowboys. They had to eat the same food every single
day of the cattle drives, no hunting or eating any plants or other food they found.
Rules were so strict for cowboys that they wore the same clothes every single day
of the cattle drives just like how they ate the same food every day. Mister Ward
explains in this part of his story, that there were many diversions that were banned
and prohibited for the

test Ratio| 0.76| 0.51| 0.89| 0.83| 0.88| 0.71| The measure of liquidity is determined
by two basic measures that consist of the current ratio and quick (acid test) ratio.
As shown in the above graph the two ratios are used in accordance to show the
liquidity of each company. The liquidity ratio is used to determine a firm s ability
to satisfy its short term obligations as they come due in a firm s operating cycle
(Gitman amp; Zutter, p.65). The first ratio shown in the graph is the current ratio,
and is one of the more popular ratios used in finance. Current ratio is a determinant
of whether or not a company is able to have the funds for obligations as they come
due. DISH Network has a fluctuation pattern over the five years that are given. In
2007 DISH Network had a current ratio of 1.00, and then 0.70 in 2008 which is the
lowest over the five year period, while in 2009 the current ratio recovers to 1.06.
To say the least, the ratio teeters down to 1.02 in 2010, but achieves its highest
current ratio of 1.16 in 2011. This shows that DISH Network overall has a good
current ratio that proves the company to be acceptable in its liquidity. However, in
2008 the firm
43. Sexual Assault In Australia
This essay investigates whether sexual assault is an increasing problem for the young
people of Australia and whether sexual assault is being taught in schools around
Australia. This essay will also be explaining how the definition of sexual assault has
changed.
Sexual assault is any type of sexual contact or behaviour that occurs without the
explicit consent of the recipient. Falling under the definition of sexual assault are
sexual activities as forced sexual intercourse, forcible sodomy, child molestation,
incest, fondling, and attempted rape. (Unknown, 2016)
Sexual assault is seen as a serious criminal act, impacting the lives of many
Australians almost every single every day, which most we don t hear about. Only

At a young age, such as ages 3 5, children are being taught about their feelings and
how to control them, exploring the concepts of safe and unsafe feelings and finding
early warning signs of abusive behaviour. They are briefly taught about their identity,
what a fair and unfair relationships is and how trust works. In the abuse segment,
they are taught privacy and the privacy of their body parts, where it s okay to be
touched and recognising abuse. By the time these children are in primary school they
are being taught about the concept of safely, they are reviewing early warning signs,
unsafe situations and understanding rights and responsibilities. One of the main
topics being taught is about the internet, mobile phones and media safety as that is
turning into a large problem for the young people of Australia. According to the Child
Protection Curriculum high schools are meant to be teaching students about
psychological pressure and manipulation, a matter of rights and responsibilities in
relationships and the power of relationships. They are also supposed to be teaching
them about identifying abuse and neglect, family violence, electronic media abuse
and protecting yourself and others. Which Victor Harbor High School, is yet to do,
as explained in my survey.
A University study found 20.6% of women and 10.5% of men reported non
penetrative childhood sexual abuse by the age of 16 and that 7.9% of women and
7.5% of men reported penetrative childhood sexual abuse by the age 16 years.

In particular, small changes in inputs can result in large changes in the value of a
company, given the need to project cash flow to infinity. James Montier argues that,
while the algebra of DCF is simple, neat and compelling, the implementation becomes
a minefield of problems . He cites, in particular, problems with estimating cash flows
and estimating discount rates. Despite the issues, DCF analysis is very widely used
and is perhaps the primary valuation tool amongst the financial analyst community.
2.2. Terminal Value
Terminal Value, in simple term, is the value of a company with an infinite row of
constant future cash flows.
To arrive at a total company value, or enterprise value, we simply have to take the
present value of the cash flows and the Terminal value, divide them by the discount
rate and, finally, add up the results. If we are discounting free cash flow of the firm
at the weighted average cost of capital, this would give the value of the firm, so it
would be necessary to deduct net debt in order to arrive at the equity value. In this
report, simply use FCF in the year of 2011 to compare the value of the firm to the
stock price in the year end of 2011.
2.3. Weighted Average Cost of Capital
The Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) is the discount rate used in a
Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis to present value projected free cash flows and
terminal value.
45. Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship
Application
From the beginning of my junior year, I came across the Naval Reserve Officer
Training Corps website and I decided to apply for the scholarship program. I
analyzed every single information on the internet and took every part of the
application process seriously, after all, this commitment affects a considerable
amount of my future. I continued to research more about the Navy and prepared for
the physical assessment test by running a few miles every day and beating my
previous push up and sit up records. A few months later, after I had enough courage
and hope, I excitedly sat down with my whole familyand friends to discuss my plan.
As I explained through the process, I cannot forget the anxious faces across the table;
my parents were very uncertain
