There are many different forms of entertainment media that has made an impact on
the American culture. However, the one I feel that has made the biggest impact on
American culture is the music industry.
I say that because, if you look at the music from the 50 s and the 60 s, the music
was smooth, it spoke to the teens and the adults in a certain way, the kids danced in
a calm manner, they danced in a respectful manner. In the 70 s and 80 s, the music
took on a distinctive style, therefore, the dances and the clothing took on a different
style. The clothing began to show body parts, the stomach was the main part that
showed. In the 50 s and 60 s you just did not do that. You kept your body covered.
When the music changed, the kids changed.
In the 80 s and 90 s, it took on more of a drastic change. Rap came on the scene, as
well as, the disco era. When this era came about, the kids changed even more. Their
clothing, haircuts, and even their language changed. It got to be such a drastic

In 2013 at work I got a new position on a team with one other person called Trainer
Development Team. When we were selected to be on the team we were already
doing a position that we volunteered for, a maintenance instructor for C 5 aircraft. I
had only been an instructor for about one year and it was a four year position. I had
not taught very many classes, but I enjoyed doing it. On the day, I found out, I was
told by my supervisor that I needed to go see the boss, he didn t tell me why. I
immediately thought that I was getting in trouble for something, couldn t think of
what though. The boss was not a very approachable boss, it was awkward trying to
talk to him. When I went to see him, he had me sit down and explained as much as
he could about the new position I would be doing. He assured me that it wasn t
because I wasn t a good instructor, they just needed someone in my career field to be

In the 19th century, The Canadian government believed that it was their job to
educate the Aboriginal people in Canada. European settlers felt that the aboriginal
people were savage, ignorant, and like children needed guidance, and needed to be
civilized . Ultimately, they wanted to assimilate the Aboriginal people into
Canadian and Christian ways of living life in Canada. The Canadian government
came up with a policy called aggressive assimilation to be taught at industrial
schools that would be run by the churches and government funded. They chose
children to go to these schools because they are easier to manipulate and mold than
the adults and felt that school was the best way to do so. With the hopes of the
assimilated children will teach their children their new way of life and that their
traditions and culture will diminish or be completely gone in a few generations. In

Authorities often would take kids from their home, to isolate them from their family

helped encourage people to have more pride in their nation, which allowed them to
