The Normative View Of Christianity
Christianity is a widespread religion that reaches many different cultures and places all around the
world. Since it is such a widespread religion there are many types of interpretations that can be
developed based off the words and teachings of the Bible. Most commonly we have the normative
view of Christianity. The normative view can most basically be understood as the highly shared
teachings of churches. Another type of interpretation that encompasses all beliefs that are not
compliant with the normative view is called esoteric. Here we will compare the interpretations of
Daskalos, the Great Teacher of Cypress, and his Researchers of Truth against the normative view of
Christianity as understood by both Catholics and Protestants. In order to further investigate the
differences between Daskalos esoteric beliefs and normative beliefs we must understand fully what
esoteric and normative truly mean. A few beliefs of normative Christianity, as explained by Moreman,
are as follows: the belief in judgement after death. There are only 2 places to go, hell or heaven and
that may or may not be after a slight stop in purgatory, the intermediate state of being right after death
where souls await resurrection (Moreman, 62). When the resurrection happens, people will be
resurrected in their physical bodies, thanks to interpretations by St. Augustine of Hippo (Moreman,
62). Those souls or people that are evil will spend eternity in hell in fiery damnation (Moreman, 63).

Political Leadership And The President Of The United...
Introduction There is a mind boggling question that has been floating around the American people
here lately. And the question is, What are the qualifications to construct a good political leader? When
you think about this, other careers such as law enforcement, health professionals, educators, and even
city transit drivers all have a more clear cut job depiction on how to be successful in that career, but
when it comes to the criteria for political leadership, one will find a vague description on how and
what to do, and the various loop holes in certain areas in politics. So this creates an even more
challenging task for people to define if a political leader is good or bad; and could possibly create a
divide across the nation. I personally feel that it would be a phenomenal notion to observe Mr. Barack
Hussein Obama II, our 44th President of The United States of America, without having any biased
views or opinions, to analyze the pros and cons of his 2 terms as our political leader and commander
in Chief. I would say that he is a strong transformational leader hands down just by assessing his years
in congress and his 2 terms as president. I can personally say that because I have a lot of areas under
his leadership that I agree with, and there some other areas that I do not agree with when viewing
some of his viewpoints. One accomplishment has gone unnoticed but is commendable. That s Obama
s flawless personal record. President Barack Obama has served longer than any

Persuasive Speech On Hope For Hope
For days, we ve despaired about the fate of the people who are trapped in the North. Today, there is
cause for hope. Only a few hours ago, I received word that a small group of people survived in New
York City against all odds and in the face of tremendous adversity. I ve ordered an immediate search
and rescue mission to bring them home and to look for more survivors.
I Now president Becker kept this promise. The army has sent down a few hundred helicopters to the
north to search for anyone who survived the freezing in the north. Everybody found will immediately
be flown down to Texas to be treated in one of our 365 hospitals to double check that everyone is safe
and healthy. While in the hospitals the police will be taking names to help find family and our friends
who survived while trying to find out who might not have. I will continue to be the president since our
president s plane sadly crashed due to the weather. Our government will stay remotely the same
however we have to move our white house to a different location. The new location will be at the
Symphony Towers in San Diego Texas. We advise everyone to not panic and to please stay in your
towns while the police try to track down everyone s family. However anybody that is still alive and
receiving this message in the northern part of California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri,
Kentucky, Tennessee Virginia and North Carolina we advise you to move south because you are
currently in our caution zone. There are only three of these zones I speak of. The dead zone, ( 37°
latitude) where sadly everything is frozen or covered in mountains of snow. The caution zone are the
places just pervious listed. The caution zone is also going to be pretty cold. We will most likely move
scientist and soldiers up there to protect and find out how to fix this issue but we would appreciate if
anybody still up there relocate to a much safer place however Florida is currently flooded and
California is torn up from the tornado. There is also the freebie zone MEANING you can live
anywhere in that zone as long as no one is occupying the place already. Most are lucky to still have a

Leadership Is The Ability Of An Individual Guide People,...
Leadership is the ability of an individual to guide people, teams or organizations. According to Rath
Conchie (2008) there are 3 attributes that make an influential leader: invest in strengths, incases
themselves around the right people to maximize their team and they empathize with their team.
Leadership skills is something that can be taught and each leader can discover new ways to expand
their leadership style. This paper will examine the writer s leadership style, showing the results of the
personality assessments, how to build upon the strengths and discipline the weaknesses, how to
motivate others with leadership skills and how to foster my emotional intelligence.
Leadership Profile Results
Addressed are the five assessments that were taken, along with their results; Keirsey Temperament
Sorter (Guardian), Ipersonic assessment (Determined Realist), the Jung Typology (Extraverted,
Sensing, Thinking, J udging), the Leadership Q (gold trustee ii), and lastly the Emotional Intelligence
assessment (self awareness 78, self management 67, social awareness 74 and relationship management
63).
There are several similar trait results that were illustrated among all of the assessments; following
rules, respecting authority, being responsible, being organized, factual, has fun but only after the work
is completed, dependable and trustworthy. According to the Keirsey Temperament Sorter, the
Guardian is the foundation of society. The Guardian and Determined Realist like to have

Ballard Integrated Managed Services, Inc. Summarizing and Presenting Data
Ballard integrated managed services (BIMS) is a contract company at Douglas Medical Center
(DMC). The company provides food and hospitality services for both the patients and staff (University
of Phoenix, 2015). Lately the moral of the staff has been a huge concern at BIMS due to the high
turnover rate. The rate has been higher than usual and management feels moral has a huge role to play
in the situation that is going on. BIMS has a total of 452 employees and has a 55 to 60% turnover rate.

The last four question were asked pertaining to departments, years of service, gender, and if the
employee was a manager or a supervisor. The data collected is a combination of quantitative and
qualitative data. The quantitative data collected is the combination of years the employee has worked
with DMC and the number of employees within the company. This type of data can be categorized on
the nominal level of measurement. In data coding BIMS used numeric codes to represent the nominal,
ordinal and internal level of measurements. In Exhibit A of the report, it describes how the company
coded the employee s data numerically. Descriptive statistics including the average, mean medium and
mode were used to describe the middle of the scores or ratings and to reveal the findings of the survey.
Data Evaluation Sally and other staff members input the survey data. Sally decided, while entering the
data, she would give a zero score to any unanswered questions. Sally made some errors to the data
when she mistakenly entered fives as sixes. She also converted the length of time the employees
worked in years to only months. Sally entered some of the data incorrectly and will and it will need to
be fixed before the analysis can begin. To fix this data the sixes will need to be changed to fives and

Essay on Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe
Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe
Elizabeth I came to the throne of England during a time of intense religious turmoil and political
uncertainty. By the end of her reign, England stood as the first officially Protestant nation in Europe;
however, tensions between Protestants and the repressed Catholic minority continued to plague the
nation. Much of the literature produced during the time of her reign reflected sensitivities to religion
and resulting political intrigues. In his play Doctor Faustus, Christopher Marlowe places the title
character in a power struggle similar in form to those conflicts dominating Elizabethan life. Yet rather
than a battle among courtiers for royal favor, the battle in Doctor Faustus pits god ... Show more

In the same respect, Elizabeth s ascension to the throne created royal pressure on Catholics. Some
Catholics fled the country, while others plotted from within to overthrow her Protestant reign and
reinstate Catholicism. Religion had become an issue of royal decree and the source of political
intrigue, linked inexorably to the power struggles and political threats of Elizabeth s reign. Political
success rested not necessarily with religious devotion but with choosing the right side under the label
of religious conviction. Just as religion became a matter of superior political power, so does the battle
between God and the devil for Doctor Faustus soul become an issue of power.
Faustus ambitious desire for power drives him to turn away from God in his pursuit of necromantic
arts. In choosing between the righteous course that God presents and the damning course offered by
the devil, he most carefully considers which will offer him the most power. In the opening scene,
Faustus examines the merits of logic, medicine, law, and divinity, studies acceptable in service to God.
He dismisses each in turn, declaring that he has attained the end of logic and medicine (1.1.10). He
believes that a greater subject fitteth Faustus wit (1.1.11). For Faustus, law is nothing but mercenary
drudge and external trash, far beneath his ambitious purposes (1.1.34, 35). While each of these

Custody Of Child Custody
INTRODUCTION
Marriage is a union of two humans. More often than not marriages result in children. Some might
even say reproduction is main aim and objective of the union through marriage. Parents take immense
care of their children; they put them on a pedestal and dedicate their entire lives to the upbringing of
their children.
But what happens in cases of divorce? When parents have exceeded their threshold and divorce is
inevitable the settlement of child custody is very important. When we use the term custody we must
understand its legal meaning. Custody of a child, when parents divorce, only implies as to who the
child will physically reside with. Both parents continue to be natural guardians. The custodial parent
will be the primary caretaker ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By saying that older children are given the choice of custody the court does not neglect the welfare of
the child aspect. Even though the courts believe that male children of age sixteen years and above and
female children of age fourteen years and above should not be compelled to live in a custody they
dislike it is also important that this factor alone cannot determine the custody of the children. This is
because in Venkataramma v. Tulsi the court found that the wishes of the children are found to be
induced by persuasion and even torture in some cases.
Other than these, in certain exceptional cases it is noted that the custody of minor children may be
granted to third persons if that is what the welfare of the child requires. In Baby v. Vijay, granting
custody of two minor children to their maternal grandfather, the court observed that, even if the father
is not found unfit, custody might be given to a third person in the interest of welfare of the

Legalize Marijuana; Annotated Bibliography Essay
Annotated Bibliography on the Legalization of Marijuana Marijuana is the most commonly used
illegal substance in United States and in many other countries; this is a statement that seems to be in
each article that is written about the legalization of marijuana. This is a subject that has been up for
debate for quite a few years now. There are many people who support the legalization of this drug and
are strongly convinced that marijuana is not a drug in which one should be punished for, but rather a
drug that should not be frowned upon and seen as a way to help our nation economically and
medically. On the other end, there are also many people who support the criminalization of marijuana
and believe it is a drug that should remain illegal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To produce different plants, genetic cross breeding is performed, as well as using different techniques
for growing the plant. The main psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, which is also the most
responsible for its intoxicating effects, is known as delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. THC is one
of the cannabinoids found in marijuana, and there are over sixty of them. It is the cannabinoid that
produces the high, and although there are other cannabinoids present, the effect is different with the
absence of THC. They interact with THC to affect its impact in a variety of ways: enhancing or
attenuating it, speeding up or slowing down its onset, and influencing how long the effect lasts
(Caulkin 7). According to the authors, recent studies have shown that there is another compound in
marijuana that is increasing the attention of both scientists and medical marijuana providers known as
cannabidiol, or CBD. CBD is not an intoxicating product, and does not produce a high when alone,
but some researchers claim it may calm the anxiety produced by THC. Some research suggests that
marijuana with a better balance between CBD and THC is less risky than the high THC, low CBD
strains that now dominate the upper end of the marijuana market (Caulkin 9). With scientists
discovering the new compound CBD, it makes them more interested in doing further research in order
to discover more roles of other compounds

Monroe Doctrine And Self-Interest
The Monroe Doctrine: When American Self Interest Overrides All
Introduction:
The term democracy etymologically derived from the Greek words demos which means the people
and kratos which means the power . Thus when an individual shouts out democracy, they mean power
of the people. From the footprints of colonial soldiers to the imprints of national newspapers, power to
the people or democracy, has be the revitalizing force in the country of the United States. In the early
1820s, two prominent threats emerged in the Americas that could possibly threat democracy; Russians
in the west, and Spanish recolonization in Latin American. After denying alliance with Britain to
defeat such forces, on December 2nd ,1823 President James Monroe declared that from henceforth,
the Americas were off limits to European colonization and that any attempt on their part to extend
their system to any portion of this hemisphere would cause the United states to intervene. Some
politicians believe the Monroe Doctrine was a bold stance against European colonization. However, it
is evident that the Monroe Doctrine was solely an act to fulfill American self interest, as prior to the
doctrine the United States did not support the new republics, the Monroe doctrine promoted
dominance in the western hemisphere, and the Monroe Doctrine arose from Anglophobia. First point:
The Monroe Doctrine selfishly satisfied American self interest because the United States did not
support the new

Imagery In The Raven
The Poem, The Raven, by Edgar Allen Poe, is a timeless, and one of the most read, poems in history.
It gives the readers a sense of fear, sadness, and excitement all at the same time. One of the ways that
Poe stimulates the readers emotions is how he uses and symbolizes the Raven in the story. Throughout
history, birds have symbolized hope, light, and freedom. Birds such as an Eagle, who symbolizes
freedom and pride, or a dove that represents peace and love, show how birds bring a sense of good to
a story. Although, I think the Raven brings a sense of sorrow, or loneliness to the story.
In the Raven it states,

In the beginning of the story, the narrator speaks of his lost love, Lenore, and says how he is distraught
over her passing. Succeeding this moment of sorrow, he hears a rapping on his chamber door ( Poe 4)
which causes him to be curious who would be knocking at his chamber door at such an hour. He is
filled with both hope, for the return of his lost Lenore, and terror for whatever he could dream was at
his door. Then in came the raven and perched himself atop his chamber door on top of a statue of the
Greek goddess Athena, who is the goddess of wisdom. For the symbolism of the raven, the narrator
sees the raven as grim, ghastly, and ominous, but gives a new sense of curiosity to the narrator. The
symbolism of a raven is the engaging in mystical and magical arts and gaining and receiving secret
knowledge. Knowing this, it shows how the narrator would be both frightened, and fascinated at the
presence of a mystical bird on his chamber door. Also the statue of Athena symbolizes the wisdom of
the raven to perch on top of it and also adds to the mysterious side of the creature. But there could also
be other reasons why the raven could seem scary and

Questions And Answers From A Troubled Peace
Four questions and answers from A Troubled Peace
1. Why President Reagan had a good relationship with President Chun, and what incidents make this
relationship stronger?
→ President Reagan had basic ideas about the danger of appeasement and the evils of communism.
He regarded South Korea as a stalwart ally and a valiant symbol of resistance to communism.
Therefore, Reagan ignored President Chun s record of antidemocratic activities (p.113). In Reagan s
view, Chun resembled former President Park in terms of his strong political leadership, anti
Communist commitment, and emphasis on economic advancement. Also, Reagan administration was
satisfied with the consolidation of a stable situation under President Chun (p.116). In addition, two
accidents strengthen the Reagan administration s support to South Korea. First, on October 9, 1983,
North Korean attack in the Martyrs Mausoleum of Rangoon, Burma, killed 17 South Koreans and four
Burmese. Even though President Chun saved his life, South Korea lost many high ranking officials
(p.119). Second, on September 1, 1983, the Soviet Union attacked Korean Air Lines Flight 007
because the flight had intruded into Soviet territory to gather military intelligence for the U.S. After
the incident, Reagan assailed Soviet s massacre and savagery in his public addresses and launch a
vigorous anti Soviet campaign (p.117). After these two events, President Reagan visited South Korea
three days in November 1983 and expressed the U.S.

My Career At Robert Bosch
Throughout my career at Robert Bosch, I have been exposed to functionality of products like Anti
Lock Braking Systems, Electronic Stability Program, Airbags and other Electronic Control Units. The
fact that an average car has 60 different embedded units performing various functions, sharing
information over networks like CAN or FLEXRAY, has always amazed me. This exposure has
inculcated a passion in me to gain more knowledge in the design and development of embedded
systems. I completed my undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics. I was motivated to
choose this field of study due to a previous attempt at implementing a cell phone controlled robot that
worked on decoding DTMF signals. The choice paid off when after gaining some knowledge about
microcontrollers in my first year, I managed to get the robot up and running. The satisfaction gained
has always been a motivational factor in my career decisions. I believe my keen interest developed
through projects as well as my basic professional experience in the embedded domain will help me
actively participate in UCLA s graduate program in Electrical Engineering, with focus on Embedded
Systems.
I received my undergraduate degree from Amrita Vishwavidyapeetham University, where my key
interests were subjects like Microcontrollers, Digital Systems, Control Systems, Analog Electronic
and Drives. My degree program involved a mix of course work and lab work. While the concepts were

Fair Labor Standards Act In 1938
Believe it or not, before 1938, there was a time when children as young as 8 10 years old (sometimes
even younger) would be forced to work until midnight or later in America during the time of the
industrial revolution (Bennett Alexander Hartman, 2001). There were simply no laws to regulate the
maximum number of hours that children could work, how old they had to be, or how much they had to
at least be paid. Thus, in 1938, Congress invoked its constitutional powers to regulate interstate
commerce and passed a law known as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) that addresses these
malpractices by employers.

Meanwhile, a covered enterprise is the related activities performed through unified operation or

It is important to note that the first standard aforementioned has been updated over time to keep up

The Cultural Impact Of Technology
The world today is very different from the world our grandparents lived in. There are a lot of
advancements in technology that make things obviously different, but there are also many changes in
our culture and society that has been affected by technological changes that many people fail to
realize. One film that showcases the cultural impact of technology is the movie Hackers, directed by
Lain Softley. The film is centered around the latest technology available (in 1995 when the film was
released) and the growing culture centered around the elite hacker community. The premise of the film
is that a group of hackers are being framed for a virus that was launched to capsize ships if a demand
for five million dollars was not met. The group of hackers work together to prove that they are
innocent by hacking into the database of a major corporation. In that database is the virus that was
created by the company s head of cyber security that was supposed to steal a total of twenty five
million dollars. The ships that were to be destroyed were all linked through satellite connections. Each
ship is automatically guided and managed by a central computer. While it is commonplace for
companies today to use satellite guidance systems and remote access to onboard computers, the movie
does nudge the story along by making the whole system extremely vulnerable. Such things like three
character passwords and single centralized command centers are obvious flaws with the system used

The Beauty Of Spring, By Gerard Manley Hopkins
At first, Gerard Manley Hopkins s poem, Spring, seems to be just about the season of spring per its
title. However, in considering Hopkins s Catholic Christian background, this poem is also about
beauty and sin and their effects on nature in relation to the story in the book of Genesis about Adam
and Eve. Spring is a Petrarchan sonnet split into an octet and sestet and is organized in such a way to
allow Hopkins to discuss beauty and how it (through sin) corrupts itself and humanity personified in
the season of spring and Adam and Eve, accordingly. The themes of the beauty of spring and the
nature of the Garden and humanity are essential in the poet s Christian understanding of sin and the
Incarnation and Passion of Jesus Christ. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, in the case of this poem by Hopkins, no problem is introduced in the octet, but is in the
sestet. Hopkins signifies this turn by asking a question about the nature of spring s beauty and where it
is from, just as juice is the characteristic flavor and essence of fruit in one meaning of the word (OED
n.1.a.). Hopkins answers this question by mentioning the Christian view of the earth s sweet being in
the beginning, thus referring to the Garden of Eden in Genesis (10 11). As inferred by Hopkins in the
first stanza and the Christian tradition which he holds, the Garden was a place of life and flourishing
rather than death, and the beginning refers to the creation story involving Adam and Eve. Thus,
according to Hopkins, the beauty of spring is identified in the sestet as a strain from the earth s sweet
being in the beginning in the Garden of Eden (10 11). Furthermore, the sestet involves a change of
word choice and figurative language instead of merely a topic change. After describing where spring s
beauty arises, the poet prayerfully addresses Christ and asks him to retrieve this strain of spring s
beauty before it cloy[s] / cloud[s]...and [makes] sour with sinning the innocent mind and Mayday in
girl and boy (10 13). In this address, cloy refers to the potential for spring to disgust the innocence of
Adam and Eve, the innocent...girl and boy, with gratification beyond

Culture
Any consideration of Spanish culture must stress the tremendous importance of religion in the history
of the country and in the life of the individual. An index of the influence of Roman Catholicism is
provided by the fervent mystical element in the art and literature of Spain, the impressive list of its
saints, and the large number of religious congregations and orders. The Catholic marriage is the basis
of the family, which in turn is the foundation of Spanish society. Economy
Spain has traditionally been an agricultural country and is still one of the largest producers of farm
commodities in Western Europe, but since the mid 1950s industrial growth has been rapid. A series of
development plans, initiated in
1964, helped the economy to expand, but in the later 1970s an economic slowdown was brought on by
rising oil costs and increased imports. Subsequently, the government emphasized the development of
the steel, shipbuilding, textile, and mining industries. Spain derives much income from tourism. The
annual budget in the early 1990s included revenues of about $97.7 billion and expenditures of about
$128 billion. On January 1, 1986, Spain became a full member of the
European Community (now the European Union, or EU).

were influenced and how obstacles such as an over possessive mother might impair these
developments. Hence, his works on psychoanalysis were not written to be an acceptance of Freud s
doctrines but rather a critical approach to them. Gregory maintains the Lawrence s essays on
psychoanalysis offered him the means of checking back results of his convictions, and ... ... Show

What has to be realised, therefore, is that Lawrence s introduction to psychoanalysis is different to his
introduction to Freud and the two should not be confused. Arguably, though, on the question of
understanding the influences on shaping one s masculinity and gender identity, Lawrence s encounters
with Freud s work were a turning point for him. Indeed, his assessments of Freud were that he was a
pan sexualist, that is, one who makes sex accountable for everything, and his reasoned assessment of
Freud (and his work) was that he was a psychiatric quack. Ironically, although sections in Sons and
Lovers deal with situations that closely suggest what Freud called the Oedipus complex, Lawrence
had written the book before he came to Freud s work and before he mentioned Freud in his letters.
Therefore, when we talk of the book s oedipal quality and analyse Lawrence s assessment of gender
identity through Freudian psychology, this obviously presents its own problems. That is not to say
such a quality does not exist in the book. It does; but Lawrence did not write with the criteria of Freud
s Oedipus complex in mind. Lawrence s theories about the role of the mother and her influence on
masculine development must therefore have been coloured by other reading. Some of what Lawrence
had read up to this point is documented by Jessie Chambers.

Saskatoon Research Paper
The western settlement in Saskatoon did not begin until the late 1800s, to be precise 1882 when
Toronto Methodists decided to settle in rapidly thriving prairie land in the province of Saskatchewan.
Led by John Neilson Lake, the group traveled by railway from Ontario to Moosejaw Saskatchewan,
and then lastly they traveled by carriage as the railway construction yet had to be completed in
Saskatchewan. The name Saskatoon may have been derived from a Cree word Mis Sask quah
toomina, used for the local berries found in Saskatoon, now called Saskatoon berries. And thus, people
started to inhabit Saskatoon in 1883.Needless to say, Saskatoon was a very small scale community
with the population of only 113 at the starting point. The rise of Saskatoon commenced in 1890
through the routing of Saskatoon rail line from Regina to Prince Albert, which opened doors to new ...

Although the city was booming, a lot of civilians were sent to the war in order to defend Great Britain

Saskatoon s economy went downhill during the great depression in 1929. The recession lead many
citizens to lose their jobs. Whilst the impact of great depression was distressing across the country, it
was more worse in Saskatchewan as the economy collapsed furthermore the province was at the edge
of bankruptcy. Only after the Second World War, Saskatoon s development and economy resumed. In
the 1950 the healthy farm economy returned. Hence Saskatoon once again became one of the Canada

Summary Of Rohinton Mistry And A Fine Balance
Shakespeare s tragedy King Lear discusses how people quickly blame fate for events that are actually
the fault of their own actions, saying that, This is the excellent foppery of the world... when we are
sick in fortune, often the surfeits of our own behaviour, we make guilty of our disasters the sun, the
moon, and the stars: as if we were villains by necessity (Edmund, King Lear). Similarly, A Fine
Balance by Rohinton Mistry demonstrates that the joys, injustices, and cruelties present in the
characters lives happen due to circumstances beyond their control, such as government regulations
and the societal traditions and systems surrounding them everyday. Amidst the political turmoil and
uproar of the Emergency in India, Rohinton Mistry depicts the lives of good, everyday people as they
struggle to gain stable footing in a highly corrupt and hierarchical society. In this depiction of various
characters living in Indian society, Mistry portrays how India s deeply rooted societal traditions and
systems create an indirect line of causalities that disguises itself as fate.
Mistry demonstrates how the characters defiance of traditional Indian gender roles creates a line of
causalities that ultimately determine the character s path. Mistry contextualizes these gender roles
when he describes that, It was hard for [wives] not to be resentful the birth of daughters often brought
them beatings from their husbands and their husband s families (Mistry 100). The author includes this
quote to demonstrate the considerably large extent to which males hold power and priority in Indian
society, thus making women nearly impotent with the exception of Dina, which may explain why the
author gives her a central role in the novel. Therefore, the defiance of gender roles which the society
in which they live considers as a crime since the values of misogyny have invaded their worldview is
dangerous, but represented in the character of Dina Dalal. Dina was quickly widowed, but Mistry
depicts her as a strong woman who struggles to keep her independence in a society that expects her to
be subordinate to another man. Even after many years since her husband s death, Dina s brother,
Nusswan, compares her life to watching

What A Railgun Is It Functions, And Why It Was Created
This research paper will show and illustrate the basics of what a railgun is, how it functions, and why
it was created. From there, it will further explicitly explain some of electromagnetics and physics that
dictate the machine and its operation. Finally, a few of the arduous problems as well as what impact
the railgun might have in our future is explained.
I. Introduction
By definition, a railgun is a weapon consisting of a pair of parallel conductive rails, using a magnetic
field and electric current to launch projectiles at very high velocity (1). In other words, a railgun is an
physical apparatus that uses the basic laws of electromagnetics by taking the flow of current through a
loop to generate a Lorentz force on a bullet like projectile, which then propels it at an extremely high
velocity. The method used to generate power in some DC motors uses this same electromagnetic
theory. The concept of railguns has grown tremendously in popularity in the past couple decades,
especially after the idea of this type of weapon was shown in various television shows and movies.
The fact that makes a railgun so unique, is that no combustion process has to take place in order for
the projectile to be fired. The inefficiency of railguns, however, has highly prohibited its further
research and development.
II. Body
Almost ninety five years ago, in 1918, the French inventor named Louis Octave Fauchon Villeplee
designed the first railgun prototype. By connecting two parallel

Incidence Rate Of Skin Cancer
Abstract: Incidence rate of skin cancer are increasing day by day. Skin cancer is one of the deadliest
forms of cancer but detected earlier can save the life time of the human being. An automated screening
system is introduced to identify the presence of skin cancer in advance. In this paper, texture
distinctiveness lesion segmentation algorithm is used. Experience and training based characteristics of
back propagation neural network is used with texture distinctiveness lesion segmentation algorithm,
for identifying the normal and abnormal portions of skin .The most commonly occurring skin cancers
are Melanoma, Basal and squamous cell carcinoma and actinic keratosis. The proposed system is to
diagnose the presence of these skin cancers with high segmentation accuracy.
Keywords: Melanoma, segmentation, skin cancer, texture, neural network.

Cancer is a life threatening disease caused primarily by genetic instability and accumulation of
multiple molecular alternations [1] [2].Present diagnostic and prognostic classifications are
insufficient to make prediction for successful treatment and patient outcome [3] [4].Among many
types of cancer, Skin cancers are the most common form of cancers in human [5]. The common types
of skin cancers are melanoma, basal and squamous cell carcinoma, and Actinic Keratosis [6].Digital
Dermoscopy is widely considered as one of the most cost effective method to identify and classify

Building a Gaming Computer
Building a gaming computer may be an intimidating endeavour, but in all actuality with a little hard
work anyone can be a whiz at putting together a gaming computer. Why build a custom gaming PC?
Well it ll save money, and give the builder a great experience. It s always fun to learn how different
things work. The price of a top of the line retail gaming computer runs from two thousand on up to
five thousand dollars and beyond, a monitor alone could cost one thousand dollars. The two types of
gaming PC builds are , the hardcore gamer build which will cost a little extra, and the casual gamer
build which isn t as expensive; moreover, the steps in building a gaming PC are: creating a budget,
researching what the builder/user wants the PC to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the user of the PC is a hardcore gamer and he/she wants the games to play on high or ultra graphics
settings without looking glitchy, or lagging out, then, the graphics card, RAM, and CPU are going to
be the main focus of spending. Although if the user is just a casual gamer who doesn t care about the
look of the games he/she plays, and just really wants a computer for everyday browsing then the bare
essentials are all that is needed. For, a hardcore build the base budget is in the range of twelve hundred
to fifteen hundred dollars. The budget for a casual gaming PC is four hundred to six hundred dollars.
One big rule when deciding a budget, NEVER try to save money on the power supply. The power
supply is the heart of the PC, it gives the computer life. Without the power supply the other
components would not be anything but metal and plastic. The first portion of the computer build for
either casual or hardcore, is the CPU. There are two major companies to pick from, Intel and
AMD.The only difference in the two is the compatibility with certain motherboards. Whichever is
picked, Intel or AMD, will help narrow the decisions on the motherboard, which will in turn help
figure out the RAM needed. After the decision has been made of one company or the other, the next
step is to pick which CPU from either company is the right one for the builder. Intel has the new

Essay On The Battle Of The Bulge
Battle of the Bulge By the time World War II ended, numerous battles were won and lost by both
sides. Millions of soldiers were killed defending their countries. One of the most famous battles was
the Battle of the Bulge. The result of this battle would all but end any hope for Adolf Hitler to win
World War II. The essay will cover the events leading up to the Battle of the Bulge, how this battle
was fought, the casualties, and what happened after this battle was over. This will give a better
understanding, some expertise, and awareness of how important this battle was to the Allied forces.
The Battle of the Bulge is said to be Adolf Hitler s final, desperate gamble of the war (Battle of the
Bulge Timeline (December 16th, 1944 January 25th, 1945), n.d.). This was because by this time in
World War II, Adolf Hitler was running low on supplies. Knowing that this war could end for him
soon, he made a frantic effort to try and win the war. Since he was low on supplies his goal was to
reach the post city of Antwerp and disrupt the Allied front and their much needed supply lines along
the way (Battle of the Bulge Timeline (December 16th, 1944 January 25th, 1945), n.d.). This was an
important battle that needed to be won, and it is said to be the largest and perhaps the most savage
land battle fought by the Americans in World War Two (The Battle of the Bulge: Hitler s Final
Gamble, 2005). This battle started on December 16, 1944. This started with the surprise

Starship Troopers Quotes Of Father
Johnny Rico, the main character in the book Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein, is a very simple
minded boy, not entirely passionate about his opinions and easily conforming to what others tell him
he should believe or do. The people that guided him towards his goals, beliefs, and dreams, though,
were the several father figures displayed through the book. His actual father (i.e., Emilio Rico), his
high school History and Moral Philosophy teacher (i.e., Dubois), and his training sergeant (i.e., Zim),

then. The novel also accurately portrays how this conflict over power between the lords of the lands

we decide to handle the conflict at hand will determine whether we strengthen the relationship or

Analyzing Fiction Book The Brave
Fiction books have helped me know why people are so worried about bullying. I have read a book
called The Brave when I was in eleventh grade for a free read that showed me how common and

each other in and outside of school so bullying will start to go away. In books that I have read in
school in the past that dealt with bullying were far worse than what people consider bullying today. In
most cases the bullying is on a very serious level in books now a days and could cause the victim a lot
of physical, mental, and emotional harm from what the characters say and do. Bullying inside and
outside of school is very serious in this generation both

The Great Mayan City Of Tikal
The world has been made unforgettable with the creation of photography.
As mankind rapidly evolved recording events became harder. Early history is only able to be pictured
with using our imagination. Often times historians often clash about what the world looked like.
Ancient civilizations from the Mayans and Aztecs have never been seen while they were in their
pristine condition. The world is left with written descriptions and ruins not only of the cities
themselves, but also the tools used. After the camera was invented in the early 1800s, events were
more frequently recorded and it was clear what tools and cities looked like before modern day.
Photography has undoubtedly altered how we document events, created new job openings, and will
give generations to come amazing art and show defining moments from each generation. Photography
has helped evolve the world by creating new jobs and revolutionizing how events are documented.
Before photography, capturing moments and keeping them alive was through word of mouth, or
written on paper. The great Mayan City of Tikal was finally constructed by 600 A.D. Tikal was said to
have had immense sports arenas, multiple hospitals, schools, and libraries. When the Spaniards came
around 1000 A.D., the Maya had vanished, leaving the ruins of their city behind. The Spaniards
documented what was seen, but some notes were unclear or lost (Maya). After the camera had been
invented in 1826 by Joseph Niepce, people were skeptical if it would

Analysis Of Pathos In Never Cry Wolf
A little town of Churchill, wolves creep in the shadows to find food. The caribou are scarce, and the
wolves need to find food to eat. In the book around the time of 1963, Never Cry Wolf a scientist
named Farley Mowat goes to the arctic to go and study wolves. There are very few caribou and
Mowat wants to see what the wolves are eating and doing to stay alive. Many people of the town of
Churchill believe that wolves are blood thirsty killers but after a long time of being with the wolves,
Mowat figures out that is just not the case. Mowat uses emotion(pathos), humor and irony throughout
the book. Mowat uses the strategy of pathos many times throughout the book. At the beginning of the
book, Mowat goes around Churchill and asks the natives what they thought about the wolves. He
believed that people weren t telling the truth or they were just uneducated about the wolves, he sort of
felt bad for them. In the book there was a guy that wouldn t let him go on the plane to get to the
wolves. The pilot said, Only nuts hire planes to go somewhere they don t know where; and only nuts
expect a guy to go off to keep a house with a bunch of wolves (22). A time ago, there was a wolf and it
came into Churchill, and people thought it was rabbid of diseases and would hurt the people but the
wolf was just hungry. Another person said, The wolf is a savage, powerful killer.it is one of the most

The Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster
The Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster Case 1: Case study of Challenger Space Shuttle Disaster Table

Investigation 6 Detailed Analysis 6 Recommendation 10 References 11 Abstract In this paper we will
study the Challenger space shuttle disaster in detail. Our focus will be on different aspects of this
event such as the many purposes which were served by the Challenger space shuttle; we will also
specifically focus on the media s role regarding this event and see how it affected the entire situation.
Overview When a disastrous event like the Challenger (which was also known as STS 51L) shuttle
explosion occurs, the reaction from the media greatly affects the public opinion. In any disaster event
the public support for the mission is greatly affected and this factor can greatly jeopardize any further
missions since the public has a huge amount of interest where their funding goes. It is also seen that
the media skew its reports just for the sake of higher ratings. Background Information The space
shuttle challenger disaster took place on January 28, 1986. It was a space launch mission conducted by
NASA which failed and exploded in air just 73 seconds after liftoff. The seven member crew in the
space died. It is said that they did not die on the initial explosion but later after the Challenger landed.
The tragedy and its consequences attracted wide media attention

  • 2. The Normative View Of Christianity Christianity is a widespread religion that reaches many different cultures and places all around the world. Since it is such a widespread religion there are many types of interpretations that can be developed based off the words and teachings of the Bible. Most commonly we have the normative view of Christianity. The normative view can most basically be understood as the highly shared teachings of churches. Another type of interpretation that encompasses all beliefs that are not compliant with the normative view is called esoteric. Here we will compare the interpretations of Daskalos, the Great Teacher of Cypress, and his Researchers of Truth against the normative view of Christianity as understood by both Catholics and Protestants. In order to further investigate the differences between Daskalos esoteric beliefs and normative beliefs we must understand fully what esoteric and normative truly mean. A few beliefs of normative Christianity, as explained by Moreman, are as follows: the belief in judgement after death. There are only 2 places to go, hell or heaven and that may or may not be after a slight stop in purgatory, the intermediate state of being right after death where souls await resurrection (Moreman, 62). When the resurrection happens, people will be resurrected in their physical bodies, thanks to interpretations by St. Augustine of Hippo (Moreman, 62). Those souls or people that are evil will spend eternity in hell in fiery damnation (Moreman, 63). The beliefs of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Political Leadership And The President Of The United... Introduction There is a mind boggling question that has been floating around the American people here lately. And the question is, What are the qualifications to construct a good political leader? When you think about this, other careers such as law enforcement, health professionals, educators, and even city transit drivers all have a more clear cut job depiction on how to be successful in that career, but when it comes to the criteria for political leadership, one will find a vague description on how and what to do, and the various loop holes in certain areas in politics. So this creates an even more challenging task for people to define if a political leader is good or bad; and could possibly create a divide across the nation. I personally feel that it would be a phenomenal notion to observe Mr. Barack Hussein Obama II, our 44th President of The United States of America, without having any biased views or opinions, to analyze the pros and cons of his 2 terms as our political leader and commander in Chief. I would say that he is a strong transformational leader hands down just by assessing his years in congress and his 2 terms as president. I can personally say that because I have a lot of areas under his leadership that I agree with, and there some other areas that I do not agree with when viewing some of his viewpoints. One accomplishment has gone unnoticed but is commendable. That s Obama s flawless personal record. President Barack Obama has served longer than any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Persuasive Speech On Hope For Hope For days, we ve despaired about the fate of the people who are trapped in the North. Today, there is cause for hope. Only a few hours ago, I received word that a small group of people survived in New York City against all odds and in the face of tremendous adversity. I ve ordered an immediate search and rescue mission to bring them home and to look for more survivors. I Now president Becker kept this promise. The army has sent down a few hundred helicopters to the north to search for anyone who survived the freezing in the north. Everybody found will immediately be flown down to Texas to be treated in one of our 365 hospitals to double check that everyone is safe and healthy. While in the hospitals the police will be taking names to help find family and our friends who survived while trying to find out who might not have. I will continue to be the president since our president s plane sadly crashed due to the weather. Our government will stay remotely the same however we have to move our white house to a different location. The new location will be at the Symphony Towers in San Diego Texas. We advise everyone to not panic and to please stay in your towns while the police try to track down everyone s family. However anybody that is still alive and receiving this message in the northern part of California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee Virginia and North Carolina we advise you to move south because you are currently in our caution zone. There are only three of these zones I speak of. The dead zone, ( 37° latitude) where sadly everything is frozen or covered in mountains of snow. The caution zone are the places just pervious listed. The caution zone is also going to be pretty cold. We will most likely move scientist and soldiers up there to protect and find out how to fix this issue but we would appreciate if anybody still up there relocate to a much safer place however Florida is currently flooded and California is torn up from the tornado. There is also the freebie zone MEANING you can live anywhere in that zone as long as no one is occupying the place already. Most are lucky to still have a have but some are not so if you can offer a place to live that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Leadership Profile Results Addressed are the five assessments that were taken, along with their results; Keirsey Temperament Sorter (Guardian), Ipersonic assessment (Determined Realist), the Jung Typology (Extraverted, Sensing, Thinking, J udging), the Leadership Q (gold trustee ii), and lastly the Emotional Intelligence assessment (self awareness 78, self management 67, social awareness 74 and relationship management 63). Summarizing and Presenting Data Ballard integrated managed services (BIMS) is a contract company at Douglas Medical Center (DMC). The company provides food and hospitality services for both the patients and staff (University of Phoenix, 2015). Lately the moral of the staff has been a huge concern at BIMS due to the high turnover rate. The last four question were asked pertaining to departments, years of service, gender, and if the employee was a manager or a supervisor. The data collected is a combination of quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data collected is the combination of years the employee has worked with DMC and the number of employees within the company. This type of data can be categorized on the nominal level of measurement. In data coding BIMS used numeric codes to represent the nominal, ordinal and internal level of measurements. In Exhibit A of the report, it describes how the company coded the employee s data numerically. Descriptive statistics including the average, mean medium and mode were used to describe the middle of the scores or ratings and to reveal the findings of the survey. Data Evaluation Sally and other staff members input the survey data. Sally decided, while entering the data, she would give a zero score to any unanswered questions. Sally made some errors to the data when she mistakenly entered fives as sixes. She also converted the length of time the employees worked in years to only months. Essay on Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe Elizabeth I came to the throne of England during a time of intense religious turmoil and political uncertainty. By the end of her reign, England stood as the first officially Protestant nation in Europe; however, tensions between Protestants and the repressed Catholic minority continued to plague the nation. Much of the literature produced during the time of her reign reflected sensitivities to religion and resulting political intrigues. In his play Doctor Faustus, Christopher Marlowe places the title character in a power struggle similar in form to those conflicts dominating Elizabethan life. Yet rather than a battle among courtiers for royal favor, the battle in Doctor Faustus pits god ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the same respect, Elizabeth s ascension to the throne created royal pressure on Catholics. Some Catholics fled the country, while others plotted from within to overthrow her Protestant reign and reinstate Catholicism. Religion had become an issue of royal decree and the source of political intrigue, linked inexorably to the power struggles and political threats of Elizabeth s reign. Political success rested not necessarily with religious devotion but with choosing the right side under the label of religious conviction. Just as religion became a matter of superior political power, so does the battle between God and the devil for Doctor Faustus soul become an issue of power. Faustus ambitious desire for power drives him to turn away from God in his pursuit of necromantic arts. In choosing between the righteous course that God presents and the damning course offered by the devil, he most carefully considers which will offer him the most power. In the opening scene, Faustus examines the merits of logic, medicine, law, and divinity, studies acceptable in service to God. He dismisses each in turn, declaring that he has attained the end of logic and medicine (1.1.10). He believes that a greater subject fitteth Faustus wit (1.1.11). For Faustus, law is nothing but mercenary drudge and external trash, far beneath his ambitious purposes (1.1.34, 35). While each of these dismissals ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some might even say reproduction is main aim and objective of the union through marriage. Parents take immense care of their children; they put them on a pedestal and dedicate their entire lives to the upbringing of their children. But what happens in cases of divorce? When parents have exceeded their threshold and divorce is inevitable the settlement of child custody is very important. When we use the term custody we must understand its legal meaning. Custody of a child, when parents divorce, only implies as to who the child will physically reside with. Both parents continue to be natural guardians. Even though the courts believe that male children of age sixteen years and above and female children of age fourteen years and above should not be compelled to live in a custody they dislike it is also important that this factor alone cannot determine the custody of the children. This is because in Venkataramma v. Tulsi the court found that the wishes of the children are found to be induced by persuasion and even torture in some cases. Other than these, in certain exceptional cases it is noted that the custody of minor children may be granted to third persons if that is what the welfare of the child requires. In Baby v. There are many people who support the legalization of this drug and are strongly convinced that marijuana is not a drug in which one should be punished for, but rather a drug that should not be frowned upon and seen as a way to help our nation economically and medically. The main psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, which is also the most responsible for its intoxicating effects, is known as delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. THC is one of the cannabinoids found in marijuana, and there are over sixty of them. It is the cannabinoid that produces the high, and although there are other cannabinoids present, the effect is different with the absence of THC. They interact with THC to affect its impact in a variety of ways: enhancing or attenuating it, speeding up or slowing down its onset, and influencing how long the effect lasts (Caulkin 7). According to the authors, recent studies have shown that there is another compound in marijuana that is increasing the attention of both scientists and medical marijuana providers known as cannabidiol, or CBD. CBD is not an intoxicating product, and does not produce a high when alone, but some researchers claim it may calm the anxiety produced by THC. Some research suggests that marijuana with a better balance between CBD and THC is less risky than the high THC, low CBD strains that now dominate the upper end of the marijuana market (Caulkin 9). • 10. Monroe Doctrine And Self-Interest The Monroe Doctrine: When American Self Interest Overrides All Introduction: The term democracy etymologically derived from the Greek words demos which means the people and kratos which means the power . Thus when an individual shouts out democracy, they mean power of the people. From the footprints of colonial soldiers to the imprints of national newspapers, power to the people or democracy, has be the revitalizing force in the country of the United States. In the early 1820s, two prominent threats emerged in the Americas that could possibly threat democracy; Russians in the west, and Spanish recolonization in Latin American. After denying alliance with Britain to defeat such forces, on December 2nd ,1823 President James Monroe declared that from henceforth, the Americas were off limits to European colonization and that any attempt on their part to extend their system to any portion of this hemisphere would cause the United states to intervene. Some politicians believe the Monroe Doctrine was a bold stance against European colonization. However, it is evident that the Monroe Doctrine was solely an act to fulfill American self interest, as prior to the doctrine the United States did not support the new republics, the Monroe doctrine promoted dominance in the western hemisphere, and the Monroe Doctrine arose from Anglophobia. It gives the readers a sense of fear, sadness, and excitement all at the same time. One of the ways that Poe stimulates the readers emotions is how he uses and symbolizes the Raven in the story. Throughout history, birds have symbolized hope, light, and freedom. Birds such as an Eagle, who symbolizes freedom and pride, or a dove that represents peace and love, show how birds bring a sense of good to a story. Although, I think the Raven brings a sense of sorrow, or loneliness to the story. Succeeding this moment of sorrow, he hears a rapping on his chamber door ( Poe 4) which causes him to be curious who would be knocking at his chamber door at such an hour. He is filled with both hope, for the return of his lost Lenore, and terror for whatever he could dream was at his door. Then in came the raven and perched himself atop his chamber door on top of a statue of the Greek goddess Athena, who is the goddess of wisdom. For the symbolism of the raven, the narrator sees the raven as grim, ghastly, and ominous, but gives a new sense of curiosity to the narrator. The symbolism of a raven is the engaging in mystical and magical arts and gaining and receiving secret knowledge. Knowing this, it shows how the narrator would be both frightened, and fascinated at the presence of a mystical bird on his chamber door. Also the statue of Athena symbolizes the wisdom of the raven to perch on top of it and also adds to the mysterious side of the creature. Why President Reagan had a good relationship with President Chun, and what incidents make this relationship stronger? → President Reagan had basic ideas about the danger of appeasement and the evils of communism. He regarded South Korea as a stalwart ally and a valiant symbol of resistance to communism. Therefore, Reagan ignored President Chun s record of antidemocratic activities (p.113). In Reagan s view, Chun resembled former President Park in terms of his strong political leadership, anti Communist commitment, and emphasis on economic advancement. Also, Reagan administration was satisfied with the consolidation of a stable situation under President Chun (p.116). In addition, two accidents strengthen the Reagan administration s support to South Korea. First, on October 9, 1983, North Korean attack in the Martyrs Mausoleum of Rangoon, Burma, killed 17 South Koreans and four Burmese. Even though President Chun saved his life, South Korea lost many high ranking officials (p.119). Second, on September 1, 1983, the Soviet Union attacked Korean Air Lines Flight 007 because the flight had intruded into Soviet territory to gather military intelligence for the U.S. After the incident, Reagan assailed Soviet s massacre and savagery in his public addresses and launch a vigorous anti Soviet campaign (p.117). There were simply no laws to regulate the maximum number of hours that children could work, how old they had to be, or how much they had to at least be paid. Thus, in 1938, Congress invoked its constitutional powers to regulate interstate commerce and passed a law known as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) that addresses these malpractices by employers. There are a lot of advancements in technology that make things obviously different, but there are also many changes in our culture and society that has been affected by technological changes that many people fail to realize. One film that showcases the cultural impact of technology is the movie Hackers, directed by Lain Softley. The film is centered around the latest technology available (in 1995 when the film was released) and the growing culture centered around the elite hacker community. The premise of the film is that a group of hackers are being framed for a virus that was launched to capsize ships if a demand for five million dollars was not met. The group of hackers work together to prove that they are innocent by hacking into the database of a major corporation. In that database is the virus that was created by the company s head of cyber security that was supposed to steal a total of twenty five million dollars. The ships that were to be destroyed were all linked through satellite connections. Each ship is automatically guided and managed by a central computer. • 16. The Beauty Of Spring, By Gerard Manley Hopkins At first, Gerard Manley Hopkins s poem, Spring, seems to be just about the season of spring per its title. However, in considering Hopkins s Catholic Christian background, this poem is also about beauty and sin and their effects on nature in relation to the story in the book of Genesis about Adam and Eve. Spring is a Petrarchan sonnet split into an octet and sestet and is organized in such a way to allow Hopkins to discuss beauty and how it (through sin) corrupts itself and humanity personified in the season of spring and Adam and Eve, accordingly. The themes of the beauty of spring and the nature of the Garden and humanity are essential in the poet s Christian understanding of sin and the Incarnation and Passion of Jesus Christ. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, in the case of this poem by Hopkins, no problem is introduced in the octet, but is in the sestet. Hopkins signifies this turn by asking a question about the nature of spring s beauty and where it is from, just as juice is the characteristic flavor and essence of fruit in one meaning of the word (OED n.1.a.). Hopkins answers this question by mentioning the Christian view of the earth s sweet being in the beginning, thus referring to the Garden of Eden in Genesis (10 11). As inferred by Hopkins in the first stanza and the Christian tradition which he holds, the Garden was a place of life and flourishing rather than death, and the beginning refers to the creation story involving Adam and Eve. Thus, according to Hopkins, the beauty of spring is identified in the sestet as a strain from the earth s sweet being in the beginning in the Garden of Eden (10 11). Furthermore, the sestet involves a change of word choice and figurative language instead of merely a topic change. After describing where spring s beauty arises, the poet prayerfully addresses Christ and asks him to retrieve this strain of spring s beauty before it cloy[s] / cloud[s]...and [makes] sour with sinning the innocent mind and Mayday in girl and boy (10 13). What he needed to understand was why he was as he was; how the development of masculinity and gender identity were influenced and how obstacles such as an over possessive mother might impair these developments. What has to be realised, therefore, is that Lawrence s introduction to psychoanalysis is different to his introduction to Freud and the two should not be confused. Arguably, though, on the question of understanding the influences on shaping one s masculinity and gender identity, Lawrence s encounters with Freud s work were a turning point for him. Indeed, his assessments of Freud were that he was a pan sexualist, that is, one who makes sex accountable for everything, and his reasoned assessment of Freud (and his work) was that he was a psychiatric quack. Ironically, although sections in Sons and Lovers deal with situations that closely suggest what Freud called the Oedipus complex, Lawrence had written the book before he came to Freud s work and before he mentioned Freud in his letters. Therefore, when we talk of the book s oedipal quality and analyse Lawrence s assessment of gender identity through Freudian psychology, this obviously presents its own problems. That is not to say such a quality does not exist in the book. It does; but Lawrence did not write with the criteria of Freud s Oedipus complex in mind. • 23. Summary Of Rohinton Mistry And A Fine Balance Shakespeare s tragedy King Lear discusses how people quickly blame fate for events that are actually the fault of their own actions, saying that, This is the excellent foppery of the world... when we are sick in fortune, often the surfeits of our own behaviour, we make guilty of our disasters the sun, the moon, and the stars: as if we were villains by necessity (Edmund, King Lear). Similarly, A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry demonstrates that the joys, injustices, and cruelties present in the characters lives happen due to circumstances beyond their control, such as government regulations and the societal traditions and systems surrounding them everyday. Amidst the political turmoil and uproar of the Emergency in India, Rohinton Mistry depicts the lives of good, everyday people as they struggle to gain stable footing in a highly corrupt and hierarchical society. In this depiction of various characters living in Indian society, Mistry portrays how India s deeply rooted societal traditions and systems create an indirect line of causalities that disguises itself as fate. Mistry demonstrates how the characters defiance of traditional Indian gender roles creates a line of causalities that ultimately determine the character s path. Mistry contextualizes these gender roles when he describes that, It was hard for [wives] not to be resentful the birth of daughters often brought them beatings from their husbands and their husband s families (Mistry 100). The author includes this quote to demonstrate the considerably large extent to which males hold power and priority in Indian society, thus making women nearly impotent with the exception of Dina, which may explain why the author gives her a central role in the novel. Therefore, the defiance of gender roles which the society in which they live considers as a crime since the values of misogyny have invaded their worldview is dangerous, but represented in the character of Dina Dalal. Dina was quickly widowed, but Mistry depicts her as a strong woman who struggles to keep her independence in a society that expects her to be subordinate to another man. From there, it will further explicitly explain some of electromagnetics and physics that dictate the machine and its operation. Finally, a few of the arduous problems as well as what impact the railgun might have in our future is explained. I. Introduction By definition, a railgun is a weapon consisting of a pair of parallel conductive rails, using a magnetic field and electric current to launch projectiles at very high velocity (1). In other words, a railgun is an physical apparatus that uses the basic laws of electromagnetics by taking the flow of current through a loop to generate a Lorentz force on a bullet like projectile, which then propels it at an extremely high velocity. The method used to generate power in some DC motors uses this same electromagnetic theory. The concept of railguns has grown tremendously in popularity in the past couple decades, especially after the idea of this type of weapon was shown in various television shows and movies. The fact that makes a railgun so unique, is that no combustion process has to take place in order for the projectile to be fired. The inefficiency of railguns, however, has highly prohibited its further research and development. II. • 29. Essay On The Battle Of The Bulge Battle of the Bulge By the time World War II ended, numerous battles were won and lost by both sides. Millions of soldiers were killed defending their countries. One of the most famous battles was the Battle of the Bulge. The result of this battle would all but end any hope for Adolf Hitler to win World War II. The essay will cover the events leading up to the Battle of the Bulge, how this battle was fought, the casualties, and what happened after this battle was over. This will give a better understanding, some expertise, and awareness of how important this battle was to the Allied forces. The Battle of the Bulge is said to be Adolf Hitler s final, desperate gamble of the war (Battle of the Bulge Timeline (December 16th, 1944 January 25th, 1945), n.d.). This was because by this time in World War II, Adolf Hitler was running low on supplies. Knowing that this war could end for him soon, he made a frantic effort to try and win the war. Since he was low on supplies his goal was to reach the post city of Antwerp and disrupt the Allied front and their much needed supply lines along the way (Battle of the Bulge Timeline (December 16th, 1944 January 25th, 1945), n.d.). This was an important battle that needed to be won, and it is said to be the largest and perhaps the most savage land battle fought by the Americans in World War Two (The Battle of the Bulge: Hitler s Final Gamble, 2005). This battle started on December 16, 1944. This started with the surprise ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Early history is only able to be pictured with using our imagination. Often times historians often clash about what the world looked like. Ancient civilizations from the Mayans and Aztecs have never been seen while they were in their pristine condition. The world is left with written descriptions and ruins not only of the cities themselves, but also the tools used. After the camera was invented in the early 1800s, events were more frequently recorded and it was clear what tools and cities looked like before modern day. Photography has undoubtedly altered how we document events, created new job openings, and will give generations to come amazing art and show defining moments from each generation. Photography has helped evolve the world by creating new jobs and revolutionizing how events are documented. Before photography, capturing moments and keeping them alive was through word of mouth, or written on paper. The great Mayan City of Tikal was finally constructed by 600 A.D. Tikal was said to have had immense sports arenas, multiple hospitals, schools, and libraries. When the Spaniards came around 1000 A.D., the Maya had vanished, leaving the ruins of their city behind.
