Compare and Contrast the Causes of the 1905 and 1917...
Compare and contrast the causes of the 1905 and 1917 revolutions in Russia In 1905 and 1917 Russia
was tormented by chaotic revolutions. The workers and the intelligentsia had arrived at the point of
hating the autocracy because they could no longer endure the suffering, hunger and repression that the
tsarist policies brought with them. Years later Lenin referred to the revolution of 1905 as a dress
rehearsal for the October Revolution of 1917. In 1905 tsardom nearly fell. Nicholas II succeeded in
remaining in power, stabilizing the situation, only thanks to various concessions. However, his
continuing to rule harshly and unwisely brought him to be forced to abdicate in the February of 1917,
signing the end of the Russian monarchy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The power still has to be snatched from the hands of the old rulers and handed over to the revolution.
That is the fundamental task. A general strike only creates the necessary preconditions; it is quite
inadequate for achieving the task itself (Trotsky). The ineffectiveness of the strikes can be found in the
fact that in nearly every occasion the soldiers were ordered to shoot on the crowd, stopping the revolts
and leaving the tsar as obnoxious to the situation as before. Also the peasants in the countryside
suffered land hunger due to the growth of population caused by the decreased of mortality rates.
Backwardness was also caused by the open field system , which didn t motivate the peasants to
improve their machinery or seeding methods since their land would be taken away from them and
redistributed when a member of the community died. Nicholas II was a weak, indecisive and obstinate
ruler who, being very conservative and reactionary, used extensively the secret police ( Third Section )
and the army to suppress uprisings and political enemies. He alienated the intelligentsia and angered
the liberals with his lack of political participation and exaggerated reliance on the Fundamental laws,
which said that the tsar was appointed by god and was rightfully in charge of the country. As a
response, the liberals initiated a banquet campaign that started in November 1904, and ended in
January 1905 with the aim of making the tsar give

Levi s Snow-Personal Narrative
Guess what! said my mom Levi can come over to tomorrow. I imagined what it would be like out
there. It was up to my waist. Dad did want me to go outside so I guessed I d please him. Monday
morning I woke up and ran downstairs. It was going to be awesome out in the snow. But then dad told
me something that ruined my day, I would be shoveling the alley until it was clear.
I unwillingly took up my shovel and started to work. I wished I could be enjoying the day with Levi. I
was stuck shoveling an alley covered with frosty snow though. When Levi finally came over I felt a
bit calmed. But what would he do inside? I felt like I couldn t do anything. Levi was stuck inside and

Not looking that instrestid she picked up the smallest shovel. She shoveled less than three inches, then
she began to kick a trail through the snow to get the job done quicker. After that she left bragging
about her accomplishment . Once she was out of sight a mountain icy frost fell on me and trapped me
in a hole. Due to my sisters careless shoveling there was more snow than ever before.
I was worried if I would ever come out successful with this job, shoveling the white cold powder that
lay around me. Then I saw someone wearing a dark blue coat and navy snow pants coming toward me.
It was Levi and he was here to help. The snow began to pile up even harder than it had had before, and
me and Levi were getting tired. Even though we were third we kept on going. Finally we finished the
job!
I rushed inside. My mom had just made me my favirote meal: chilly. As I slurped down the food my
mom gave me and Levi five bucks for are hard work.I wondered what to do with it because I was
banned from bubble gum. Now I m shoveling sidewalks daily but I ll never forget what started it

The Social Effects Of The Industrial Revolution
Evaluation of Sources About The Social Effects of The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution mainly refers to the transition from manual production to machinery
production in the period from about 1760 to 1840. It first appeared in the Great British and marks an
important turning point in history as nearly every aspect of the human society was influenced by it in
some way. This essay focuses on the social effects of the Industrial Revolution. As for the sources
used to analyze the question, they are all searched from the Internet including Wikipedia and
professional databases that are credible enough and revised and checked by many people. To
guarantee the credibility of the sources, professional websites and articles that are accepted by people
are chose. First of all, to get a general understanding about the topic, credible websites such as
Wikipedia can be used to search for information about it. Then databases of papers that are much more
credible can be used to find professional research papers about the topic. I mainly focused on the key
words, the Industrial Revolution and social effects, when searching for sources and identified the
following three sources as my materials for the essay. On Wikipedia, there is an article that presents a
general description of the Industrial Revolution and its effects. After a simple definition ... Show more

Oppressors In America Research Paper
The guilt of nurturing lust for power made Hagar run away from Sara. In this context, I observe, that
the powerless concubine became all powerful she ran away twice from Sara. Her reasons for doing so
might be many, most notable being that Hagar was the biological mother of Ishmael, and further the
tables turned when Sara asked Abraham to send Hagar away there is a shift in the power roles. Hagar s
acts of running away from Sara twice helps me perceive Hagar taking over the role of an oppressor
from her former role of one being oppressed. To explicate this, as a maid, Hagar was oppressed into
forcible sexual relationship with Abram, the same oppressed concubine can be perceived as the
oppressor who torments Sara because she is the birthing mother of Abraham s son and hence looks
down upon Sara. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To clarify, by this, I mean the white American Christians of today that were once colonized by the
British rulers and sought freedom to build their own nation have now formed their own groups to
target and oppress others, the people of color in this regard the KKK group that has successfully
burned crosses and lynched the African Americans, seeking to further build up the agendas of white
Christianity. While reading the article by Dr. Stephen Ray, Jr., the question intrigued me about how the
white Christians, for whom the cross should have been the object of liberation, have gone to the path
of being the oppressors to the black community? As I observe, the unasked question is: When did,
Christianity preach and teach hatred against anyone, calling judgement upon them by enslaving and
burning them? I find the question extremely relevant to the theological

there is something in their way (Native Americans). The queen had died less than four years ago and
the first settlers had just arrived in the the new world, and conflict with the natives has begun. Who s
side are you on? I m on the natives the native americans were not hostile yet very welcoming to the
colonists but the colonists did not return the favor. The colonists used the natives things, took, and
wiped out several native tribes. They also were harsh towards the natives. The settlers were also very
disrespectful towards the natives. The settlers stole, killed, and used the natives things whenever they

A Very Short Introduction By Jonathan Culler
In Literary Criticism A Very Short Introduction, author Jonathan Culler writes on feminist theory: on
the one hand, feminist theorists champion the identity of women, demand rights for women, and
promote women s writings as representations of the experience of women. On the other hand,
feminists undertake a theoretical critique of the heterosexual matrix that organizes identities and
cultures in terms of the opposition between man and woman (Culler 140).
These two approaches, championing and critiquing can be found in both the works of Jane Austen and
E.M. Forster. In their novels, we welcome a central female character who flourishes into their own
understanding of the word, and provides their own literary voice to an overwhelmingly ... Show more

Rather, Lucy s character is merely that, her own, a full embodiment of herself, and ultimately this is
the major revelation she transcends to through her journey in Forster s novel. Whereas Elizabeth seeks
to prove a point of equality, Lucy seeks to embody that point. This does not discount Elizabeth s
progressiveness, but rather is central to how these two characters embody a continuum of feminism s
development. Both Elizabeth and Lucy exhibit strong determination, but contexts shape them
differently. In the world of victorian England, Elizabeth Bennett rejects the man she is destined to love
because he outwardly does not met the decorum of society and slights her with his mannerism. In a
similar way, Lucy holds to her own private prejudices in her rejection of George Emerson. But George
Emerson is a far cry from Mr. Darcy; George being someone who has grown up equalizing women
whereas Darcy has grown up believing they have a place. Therefore, for Lucy, expectations are
different because the shift in gender equality is already well underway. Throughout the novel bread
crumbs are dropped for Lucy about her own potential, whereas for the females of Austen s Longbourn,
marriage is their only opportunity, their lone certain way to escape. Even Elizabeth Bennett cannot
escape this reality.
In A Room with A View the female character s autonomy is placed front in center. Furthermore,
femininity itself is burgeoning out of even

Early Childhood Brain Development Personal Statement
For the last two years, I had the incredible opportunity to work as a research assistant with Dr. Pat
Levitt at Children s Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Levitt is a renowned figure in the field of neuroscience
research and serves as the Science Director of The National Scientific Council on the Developing
Child. This council consists of a diverse group of distinguished scientists who are working to translate
research on early brain development into a language that is understandable, scientifically accurate, and
useful for public decision makers. They have started a conversation about the importance of providing
a healthy environment for all young children. The combination of genetics and early childhood
experiences ultimately affect the development of a child s brain architecture, which serves as the
foundation for future learning, behavior, and health. Children who experience persistent and
significant adversity during their early childhood are at risk for permanent damage to the formation of
brain circuits. Chronic neglect, abuse, and the consequences of severe poverty each result in an
overactivation of a child s stress response. This prolonged stress response is ... Show more content on

Symbols of the Hopi Pottery Essay
Symbols of the Hopi Pottery
When most people look at a piece of pottery the first thing that comes to mind is the significance of
the symbols and the stories behind these symbols. There are some symbols of Hopi pottery that have
stories behind them and some that are symbols of either lost significance or the story is unknown.
Some of the symbols we think of as symbols, are really the potters own design. Most people make the
mistake that symbols and designs are the same thing, but in fact they are very different. Hopi potters,
mostly women, have been instrumental in both preserving and developing traditional symbols and
innovating designs in response to changes in and challenges to their culture.
In the beginning, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The potter does not look at the design or shape of piece of pottery until the complete piece is finished.
Once the pot is finished, the potter looks at it and if there is something wrong with it, such as it is lop
sided or the design is corked, he/she takes it as a learning experience , and will know what not to do
the next time ( Museum Notes 3).
If on the other hand, he/she has not decided on a design he/she may take the pot in his/her hands and
close his/her eyes and imagine a design that would fit the pot which would be attractive on the piece.
A very famous potter, Maria Martinez creates all of her pottery by first closing her eyes with the piece
in her hands and then imagining what would look good on this piece and what will fit perfectly.
Another artist, Carol Duwyenie, states My creations in art revolve around symbolism in the
relationship to life and Hopi Philosophy of the earth. Just like the paths of life change, twist, and turn,
so has my work. I have taken different paths to express my creativity.... (Duwyenie 1). Everyone has
there own way of deciding what to place on their art. As mentioned above, some artists know right
from the start what the design will be , but some do not and some use both strategies depending on the
piece.
There are several strategies to keep the pot flawless. The most common strategy is to border the area
to be designed with several lines to keep it from becoming slated or lopsided. The area is first

Gimme The I Insist By Abigail Moore Analysis
Analysis: Gimme an A (I Insist!) The article Gimme an A (I Insist!) by Abigail Sullivan Moore is a
commentary on grade inflation in high schools. The author discusses how high school averages are on

students better grades in an attempt to spare their feelings. She then covers how this negatively affects
our students. The major points that will be covered in this paper are how relevant this article is and
how the problem discussed is affecting our students. The author makes a very logical argument that by
giving students inflated test scores, teachers are hurting students in the long run. Moore describes high

The Regooco Art Movement Of The 18th Century
The Rococo Art Movement
During the 18th Century, there was a turning point to the basic style and mood of artists craft, due to
The Enlightenment and The French Revolution. Towards the end of the dramatic and regal Baroque
period, a lighter hearted method of painting came about, known as the Rococo style. It was considered
a brighter and more amorously themed approach which affected many aspects of art including
sculpting, painting, interior design, architecture, and more. Rococo art was shown on chapel ceilings
in the form of frescoes, but was mainly a way of decoration for large wealthy homes. It was a sign of
riches to have the curvy, intricate paintings and architecture among your archways, doors, and even
chairs. Rococo paintings themselves featured lovey subjects without a main theme or meaning, jus the
seen beauty. Rococo Art will forever be remembered as a great era of art that was in regal demand.
The Rococo style of the 18th century movement was derived from an earlier Baroque style, which
consisted of more biblical scenes and heroism than the light hearted Rococo. It consisted of much
more idyllic scenes of love and beauty than that of the baroque style. The book The Baroque Period:
Movements in Art explains Rococo art as, Instead of being used to teach people or influence their
thoughts, art was primarily something to be admired and enjoyed. Beauty and feeling became the
dominant artistic goals (pg.39). The thing to be appreciated about rococo style art

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Breaking The Line By Samuel Freedman
Samuel Freedman uses rhetoric to call white American sports fan to attention. Although it is only a
four page article, Freedman effectively uses the three main rhetorical techniques of pathos, ethos, and
logos. By appealing to all aspects of the readers analytical senses, this helps Freedman strongly
portray his message for justice in the sports community for not only black athletes, but for anyone of
any race or background.
Right away Samuel Freedman uses pathos in his article to appeal to the audience s emotions. He
focuses on the example of Ray Lewis, a former NFL superstar who has recently been scrutinized by
thousands of fans who used to adore him. Ray Lewis joined the Baltimore Ravens on the field during
the second week of the NFL season. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After including the counterclaim from Douglas Hartmann, Freedman quickly refutes its accuracy by
saying, The reality is that modern American sports have always been political. Segregation was reified
by all white baseball and football leagues(3). Freedman then proceeds to talk about some of the most
acclaimed athletes of all time such as Jackie Robinson, Bill Russell, Jim Brown, and Kareem Abdul
Jabbar. He mentions how all of these athletes are in the hall of fame in their respected sports. It is
important to note that Ray Lewis will also be enshrined into the National Football Hall of Fame in
August, and he too took a political stand. The logic being exemplified here is that all the athletes listed
above were some of the best ever at what they did. This white stardom did not stop them from risking
it all by fighting for equality for people of all backgrounds. This calls out white America for its
immoral treatment of not only Ray Lewis, but any other athlete that is fighting for justice for all. This
catches the pathos side of things by sticking to the logical side of the

The Fall Of The House Of Usher Differences
The Fall of the House of Usher is a work that has gained notoriety as both a short story and a film. The
short story written by Edgar Allan Poe is considered one of his finest works. The film, written by
Richard Matheson, stars great actors of the 1900s such as Vincent Price. However, there are vast
differences between the short story and the film. Unlike the short story, Roderick Usher and Peter
Winthrop, who does not have a name in the short story, are not friends in the film. In addition, the film
features a love story between Peter Winthrop and Madeline Usher. Yet, the film does retain Poe s
original description of Roderick Usher. Nevertheless, both the short story and the film are great works
of a frightening story. The first difference

Explain One Possible Cause Of The Great Human Migration
1. Identify and explain one example of non historical evidence for human migration out of Africa.
Throughout his article, The Great Human Migration, Guy Gugliotta analyzes various evidence that
support the theory of human migration out of Africa. Gugliotta explains how scientists use
mitochondrial DNA, which is passed on only from one s mother and has a fast mutation rate, to trace
modern humans origin. By analyzing modern mitochondrial DNA and working backwards, scientists
have found that a woman alive in Africa 200,000 years ago had the mitochondrial DNA that is found
in people alive today. The woman was named Eve and she is, what scientists call, our most recent
common ancestor. DNA evidence showed that she lived in Africa, which supports the out of Africa
theory because it proves that modern humans originated in Africa. These findings link Africa as the
hearth of modern humans all over the world and demonstrates that early humans migrated out of
Africa.

As recent scientific evidence shows, Africa may have suffered from a lack of water roughly 100,000
years ago. Since water is essential for human life, the absence of precipitation may have caused early
humans to migrate to other parts of the world. Scientists found evidence which establishes that
modern humans were separated into small, dispersed groups due to the droughts. After the droughts
ended, people decided to migrate to parts of Asia in order to ensure survival. The African people did
not want to risk another drought, so they decided to begin emigrating out of Africa and exploring the
rest of the world. The water deficiency in Africa may have caused modern humans to migrate out of
Africa and begin inhabiting other regions of the

Analyse the advantages and limitations of different methods of, and media for, making presentations
A variety of communication media can be considered when planning to produce a presentation, for
example verbal communication and written communication, each type of communication media has
its advantages and limitations. When developing my presentation I decided to use both verbal and
written communication, although both communication methods were used I had to ensure that they
were used in the correct quantities. To keep my presentation engaging I tried to use as much visual
representation as possible limiting the amount of text per slide. I chose to use PowerPoint because of
its combination of written and verbal communication (not to mention the cost effectiveness of
choosing PowerPoint and simplistic interface); the written aspects included the text on the slides,
screenshots and images. The screenshots proved particularly useful as they was of the actual database
used in the daily running of the Apprenticeships Store, once paired with the demonstration of inputting
data into the database it ensured greater understanding due to more practical learning as opposed to
theoretical learning. More detail was provided in my handouts ensuring I didn t give too much

Sexism In Pygmalion
Pygmalion in Greek mythology was a Cypriot sculptor who constructed a woman out of ivory and
named her Galatea. According to Ovid s translation, after seeing the Propoetides prostituting
themselves in public for their defiance against the gods, he became uninterested in women; however
his statue was so beautiful and realistic that he fell in love with it. After a short time, Aphrodite s
festival day came, and Pygmalion made several offerings at the shrine of Aphrodite. Pygmalion was
too scared to admit his true desire at the altar, so he quietly wished for a bride who would be the living

The author shows his feminist side as he has Eliza stand up for her self and break out of the traditional
position of women in the era. This brings a very feminist, free thinking theme to the play that
challenges the audience to break the usual traditions of England s segregated, unofficial caste system
of a society. In Shaw s display against inequality and sexism, there is another theme that must be kept
in mind. When thinking about how to achieve equality between the sexes, it has to be taken into
consideration that true equality does not necessarily come from being treated equally. In order for
equality to be achieved, we must feel equal to one another. This feeling comes from making the effort
to meet the needs of all people so that they can reach a point in life where they feel dignified, and feel
as though they have the ability and the will power to work to raise themselves up in society.
The amount of character development in Pygmalion, the characters help to make the play seem more
realistic and interesting due to each character s complex and individual personality. Each one
contributes to the play s over all message in a different way. For example, Professor

Teaching New Meanings For The Sorority Environment
You quickly become what you surround yourself with. This concept was a constant reminder my
mother gave me when I moved off to college. As a senior, I find this advice to hold very true when I
reflect on the organizations that I have been a part of. My sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, has had the biggest
influence on not only my character, but my language as well. What first seemed like jargon has now
become primary language. From learning new meanings for everyday vocabulary to different
intonational patterns, my language has adapted to the environment that I have surrounded myself with
for the past three years. Within a sorority, there are various terms that are held secret due to our ritual
ceremonies; however, there are also numerous terms that we will use in everyday language. These
terms are average words that are used throughout the day by a vast majority of the world population.
However, when the words are used in the sorority environment, they take on a completely new
meaning. In other words, they are semantically altered. A primary example is the transition of the
words big and little from adjectives to proper nouns. Instead of defining an object s size, these terms
are now used to name your big and little sister in the sorority. I remember getting asked my freshman
year, Are you going to rush? I immediately thought, Rush where? As I transitioned into the Greek
community, I quickly realized that the term rush changes meaning and now means going through
sorority or

the NIBRS is to become the new standard for law enforcement to report crime data to the FBI.
NACJD, a part of the Inter University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), was

Canada Political Influence
Political interferences have played a great role in economic crisis in the current world, especially in

Essay on Analysis of Seamus Heaney s North
Analysis of Seamus Heaney s North
The poet Keats wrote that the only means of strengthening one s intellect is to make up one s own
mind about nothing to let the mind be a thoroughfare for all thought, not a select body . That this may
be an admirable aim for a poet, and especially so for one writing against a background of ethnic
violence, is not in doubt. It is, however, extremely difficult to remain neutral when one identifies
oneself with an ethnic party involved in conflict. It is my intention, then, in this essay, to document
how Seamus Heaney s reaction to violence in his homeland has affected his writings, with particular
reference to the volume of poetry entitled North . This volume first appeared in 1975, a year after the

Reading these last two stanzas of the poem, it is not difficult to understand why it caused outrage upon
its publication. To even the most liberal of readers it surely must seem that the poet is in league with
those who tar and feather women merely for having friends from the wrong side . One can accept that
a casual onlooker may not risk life and limb to intervene to aid a stranger; what one finds much more
difficult to accept is that Heaney, on seeing young women tarred and weeping, understands the ...
tribal, intimate revenge . This is poetry as catharsis. Although adultery and dating British soldiers are
obviously two different things, they are both activities which occur outside the tribe. The sense of
tribalism is present throughout and is presented as an inescapable and timeless pattern. Throughout the
poem Heaney has apologetically distanced himself from violence, always ...the artful voyeur . This
poem tells us much in relation to Heaney s stance on the violence in Northern Ireland. He certainly
identifies with it, as we see in the poet s inclusion of himself in the first line where I can feel... and
indeed how could he not for he was surrounded by it. His attitude, as already stated, seems to be that it

Speech On Becoming An Adult
When asked the question When do you become an adult? many people would give an age but in
reality the answer isn t that easy. To me adulthood is when you are able and willing to accept
responsibility. If you cannot or will not be responsible, you have no right calling yourself an adult.
What does make you a grown up? Is it moving out of the house? Hitting a certain age? Having a
relationship? Getting a job? How is it that we can do. those things, that we consider to be adult , but
we still feel like kids? Or that we feel like grown ups, we re certainly old enough, but we haven t.
seemed to have accomplished any of those things grown ups have done? People never seem to quite

The Importance Of Speech Anxiety
Stage freight and speaking in front of large groups of people is on top of every human fear. Face to
face public speaking puts hefty demands on speakers and listeners. The mixture of personality, body
and voices as well as chemistry makes speech a form of communication with exciting energy.
Irrespective of the attention given, it will create a significant and meaningful message. Without an
effective presentation the speech will unlikely create desire effects. In the article Don t be Shy (Aviv,
2016) it states how public speaking affects students to the point they will drop the class as long as they
don t have to speak in front of it or even sitting in class and having to raise your hand to ask a question
in front of the class stops many students due to fear of embarrassment. We all struggle with
communication anxiety, and uneasiness with unfamiliar situations. It also describes how improving
certain aspects in presentations will allow enough experience and confidence to have the ability to
successfully speak publicly, because we all know that speaking well if often crucial to getting a job.
The article has some good points, teaching the students first hand to overcome stage freight. One
professor helped her students with communication anxiety urging them to make index cards with
opening lines for starting conversations (Aviv, 2016). Universities are all aware of the anxiety that
goes into communication with others. Penn State created a Speech Anxiety course to

which originally appeared in English under the title If This Is a Man in 1958. This first chapter brings
you through Levi s journey from Turin, Italy to the work camp, Auschwitz, while detailing the routine
of blatant inhumanity. The chapter begins as Levi states the fact that he was captured by the Fascist
Militia when he was 24, only after being forced to flee into the mountains because of his segregated
life filled with racial laws. The night he was captured, three fascist militia companies broke into their
refuge and took him as a suspect person. While being interrogated, Levi decided to admit that he was

product life cycle. The product life cycle proceeds through multiple phases, involves many
professional disciplines, and requires many skills, tools and processes. By explaining the product life
cycle stages, we clearly define the phase, each with its own characteristics that will have different
impact on each reader depending on their particular situation. We discuss introduction, growth,

The boom is on. This is the beginning of Stage 2 the market growth stage. At this point potential
competitors who have been watching developments during Stage I jump into the fray. The first ones to
get in are generally those with an exceptionally effective used apple policy. Some enter the market
with carbon copies of the originator s product. Others make functional and design improvements. And
at this point product and brand differentiation begin to develop. The ensuing fight for the consumer s
patronage poses to the originating producing an entirely new set of problems. Instead of seeking ways
of getting consumers to try the product, the originator now faces the more compelling problem of
getting them to prefer his brand. This generally requires important changes in marketing strategies and
methods. But the policies and tactics now adopted will be neither freely the sole choice of the
originating producer, nor as experimental as they might have been during Stage I. The presence of
competitors, both dictates and limits what can easily be tried such as, for example, testing what is the
best price level or the best channel of distribution. As the rate of consumer acceptance accelerates, it
generally becomes increasingly easy to open new distribution channels and retail outlets. The
consequent filling of distribution pipelines generally causes the entire industry s factory sales to rise
more rapidly than store sales. This creates an

Normandy Beach. While there is no official count on the amount of casualties either side suffered, the
Allies had an estimated 209,000 Allied casualties, with as many as 425,000 total soldier casualties of
the Allied and German troops. A casualty in this case refers to a soldier whose outcome falls into one

A considerable factor in the astonishment that is the Battle of Normandy, is the distinct advantages
both sides possessed heading into this bout. Germany and its technological advancement, is a clear
reason for their sudden expansion, and the annihilation of other countries. Correspondingly, they had a
weapon so fast, it was impossible to hear individual shots fired from the gun at once. The MG42,
better known as Hitler s Zipper , was the death machine responsible for sending hundreds of men to
meet their maker that day. This weapon was the most rapid firing gun the world had ever seen.
Uniquely capable of releasing up to 25 bullets per second. Bullets that travelled at a shocking 2,000

Universal And Programmable Routers ( Upr )
2. UNIVERSAL AND PROGRAMMABLE ROUTERS (UPR)
The design of UPR routers is in par with the increasing capabilities of single chips in VLSI
technology. At macro level the programming of this router is very efficient for statistically and
dynamically reconfigurable systems. In parallel computers, it is common to use custom made routers.
Researchers have started designing routers for good performance recently. These universally
programmable router that are statistically and dynamically adaptable are believed to be very essential
in the parallel computing field. Universal routers are essential for two reasons. First because of their
static adaptability they are used to construct any parallel computer independent of channel width and
topology. Second the channel width and the topology of a parallel network can be reconfigured more
than once to match the requirements through implementation taking advantage of its dynamic
adaptability.
A programmable and adaptable router is proposed which can be used in any design independent of the
chosen interconnection network. A programmable lookup table is used by this router to map processor
addresses to physical network routes. These lookup tables maintained in the router makes it easy to
modify the network topology based on network failures, requests from the application algorithm and
changing workloads.
The UPR makes routing decisions locally based on the destination address in the packet header and
availability of outgoing channels. If

My Boyhood
At the beginning of my boyhood, I did not pay much attention to Islam and to its prophet. Things
started to change when I was sent to a Koranic school called Salman Al Farsi in Sharjah. There, I
started wholeheartedly memorizing verses of the Koran with other children in a circle around the
recitation teacher. I had to remember the verses by heart unless I wanted to face my teacher s wrath.
During this time, I learned a great deal about Islam and its teachings. Everything seemed to center
around the greatest human that ever existed. I was taught Mohammed s mannerisms in terms of how
he eats, how he sleeps, walks, talks, and every minute detail of his life. We were taught to be
unhealthily obsessed with living life like he did, from what to think down to how he defecates and
urinates. That was who I aspired to be. I wanted to be the best, and I was constantly reminded of who
to emulate to achieve that. Yet, I struggled with following his example and denying myself the joys of
life. During the Koranic lessons, I would gaze at the other pupils faces. It started out of boredom, but
then developed to admiration of certain faces. It wasn t sexual at that point; I was too young. I just
stared admiring the beauty of some of the other boys faces, and I wanted those boys to notice me. I
was not aware that some of the boys were doing the same and staring at me with such an intention.

rewarding project, because it has allowed me to see examples of how coding is used in the work

others through Outlook, daily Huddle meetings, and the overall importance of communication. Before
this internship, email was just a way for me to get information from professors and peers, but now it is
a tool to organize and communicate with others quickly and effectively. Huddle meetings were new to

Using the theoretical framework from Sekaran s book, this paper will examine the relationship
between outsourcing, employee attitudes toward their employers, and the standard employer employee
relationship. This paper will describe the definitions of key terms, employee attitudes and their origins
and the traditional employer employee relationship. The Scientific Research Design will also help to

The second moderating variable is the communication between employer and employee regarding the
plans to outsource. It seems that if the organization was candid about the plans and reasons regarding
any upcoming outsourcing some negative feelings could be mitigated (Kostopoulos amp; Bozionelos,

The topic of which I would like to further discuss in my paper is that of eating disorders. The question
I would like to explore is: Should mental health and associated health professionals be allowed to
remove a patient s autonomy and control their diet as intervention for an eating disorder? I think that
this is a very debatable topic because both sides are equally important to the patient. It is important
that the patient be able to make their own decisions but it is equally important that the patient be safe
and their health protected. Both sides are also equally harmful if not considered for the patient. Is it
ethical to control a patient s diet in treatment of an eating disorder? Proponents answer yes, ... Show

Clarify Concepts
The major eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. There are also many
other eating disorders that are not always specified for people that do not fall into the other categories.
When treating these illnesses along with any other, medical staff work to protect a patient s autonomy
which is their right to make decisions about their own care. The problem is that eating disorders are
one of the hardest conditions to treat (Treasure, 2015). It has also been shown that over half of all
cases develop into severe illness for the patient and profoundly impact their physical and mental
health (Treasure, 2015).
Identify Possible Solutions to the Problem There are several possible solutions. Medical staff could
take dietary choices away from the patient and control their diet in order to help them recover from
their eating disorder. Another option is for medical staff to counsel the patient on dietary decisions but
allow the patient to remain in control of their choices. Yet another option may be a compromise
between the two, to control the diet of the patient while still allowing them to make decisions.
Gather Information
Professionals are trying to decide the best ways to treat eating disorders. A major complication in the
proposed treatment plan is ethics. A potential solution may be to take control away from the patient

they think about it. If the person feels like the diet he choose is more of a burden but still wants to try
other diets, he should go back to evaluating the information he originally found and choose another
one. He can continue to do this until he found the diet that is the right fit for him and does not feel like
a chore, or until he thinks it is too much of a high involvement. One of our group members showed
high involvement when looking into each diet. Since it was something she did not know about she put
in information to see the results she would get for each diet.
For each diet she put in her age, 21, height, 5 5 , current weight,145 lbs, and weight goals,130 lbs. The
Atkins diet did require more information like what size her waist was, if she was pregnant or
breastfeeding, no, if she was prediabetic or diabetic, no, and if she prefered a more flexible diet or a
strict diet, flexible. Based on her

1. Describe some reasons why Linux is installed on only a very small fraction of desktop computers.
Are there particular categories of products or users who might see Linux as more appealing than
conventional operating systems? Do you think Linux s share of the desktop market will increase? Why
or why not?
Linux, or what is here and there known as Unix on a lesser scale is considered and institutionalized on
the premise of an open source framework and free for conveyance (Eckert, 2016). The principle
reason we see Linux utilized on a constrained premise is because we live in a prevalently Windows
Operating System world. Another component conflicting with Linux is that being open source, you
need to go get it and really put it on the PC yourself as a client and this is something that numerous
clients are somewhat hesitant to attempt and fulfill. A third variable that ... Show more content on

Describe the hardware and software requirements of your chosen information system. Be sure to
consider both the server side and client side hardware and software. If you do not have access to
specific details about the server side hardware and software, make reasonable assumptions based on
the kind of hardware and software that you believe would be necessary to run your system.
Since my system is a web based system, this is something that will be a little difficult to answer in this
short of time frame. For the user, the hardware could be anything from a smart phone to regular
desktop computer, providing they have one of the primary browsers to access the web and load the
site. For the server side, the assumption is that they are running Linux or Unix based server with Java
servlet support and PHP programming language. The assumption is that they are also running several
servers around the world that are all interconnected. Since they run a lot of information through the
website, they need to run a relational database and some sort of backup system of the data to prevent a

Absorption Spectrum Of Dyes Lab Report
Absorption Spectrum of Conjugated Dyes
Bashar Baraz
Lab Partners: whole class
Physical Chemistry II
3/22/2015
Abstract: The highly conjugated system of the cyanine dyes makes it a very good compound in the
development of more efficient solar cells. In this experiment, the maximum wavelength was measured
for nine dyes using a UV Vis spectrum. The result that were obtained agreed with Kuhn s model for
the less polarizable end groups such as 3,3 diethyloxadicarbocyanine and 3,3
diethyloxatricarbocyanine. That suggested that these two compounds were not as easy to polarize
compared to the rest of the dyes. The rest of the dyes required the use of the empirical parameter α to
provide more reliable predictions of the wavelengths. This was due to the highly polarized ends of the
dyes which needed the adjustment of the parameter to get more accurate results. The series with the
higher polarizable end groups absorbed higher wavelength light than the less polarized groups. This
supported the idea of the one dimensional box. Also, higher wavelength was determined to be
associated with longer conjugated carbon methine chains between the Nitrogen atoms. Kuhn s free
electron model was very reliable for this system.
Introduction:
The conjugated electron system in polymethine dyes allows these compounds to absorb light in the
visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Many of the carbocyanine dyes contain a different
number of methine carbons with two

Repercussions Of Revenge In Hamlet
The Repercussions of Revenge Revenge is shown throughout Shakespeare s play Hamlet, leaving the
destruction of human relationships in its wake. The act of vengeance is usually a violent act against
someone as a result of something they directly or indirectly did. This can be seen in The Tragedy of
Hamlet; Prince of Denmark with Hamlet s plan to murder Claudius for the death of his father, King
Hamlet, and Laertes similar plan to murder Hamlet for the death of his father, Polonius. When
someone is attempting to seek retribution against someone else, it results in that person deceiving the
people they love to further progress their intentions. Because of revenge, ones suffering increases due
to the continuous loss of relationships with your love ones. Revenge could even put you in a situation
that could risk your own life. Throughout Shakespeare s play, William Shakespeare demonstrated how
revenge leads to a path of deceit and despair. In the play, Hamlet shows how revenge can turn
someone towards the dark side of life. This could be anywhere from lying and deceiving your loved
ones to murdering helpless bystanders; all in order to further their own goal. Prior to Hamlet finding
proof about what the ghost said, how Claudius murdered his father, he decided that if what he was told
was true he would go down the path of vengeance to honor his father s memories. Hamlet started to lie
to everyone he loved about his true intentions, so no one would suspect him attempting to kill the new
king. He did this by tricking Polonius, Ophelia s father and King Claudius s advisor, into believing
that the reason he was acting very strange was because he was terribly in love with Ophelia. In act two
scene one, Ophelia exclaimed to her father that Hamlet acted as if he had been tossed out of hell... to
speak of horrors he comes before me. Polonius responded by asking Mad for thy love? (93 95).
Hamlet has succeeded in lying to everyone in the kingdom about why he is so depressed and confused
by Polonius stating mad for thy love. Now all the characters believe he is just a normal teenage boy
attempting to court a well known beauty. He can now continue his plan of murdering Claudius to seek
vengeance for his father s death,

Should Students Be Exposed With Culture And Cultural...
Students should be exposed to culture and cultural experiences both in and out of the classroom
setting. Diversity should be promoted among student in class, school and the community. Students
should feel confident in their growing language abilities knowing that it is okay to make mistakes and
to learn from them. Creativity should be used to express students likes, dislikes and tell them a lot
about them. The curriculum should be student centered, flexible, and utilize authentic materials. A
thirst for learning should be evident in the classroom setting meaning want to complete their
assignments, whether they are in class assignments or homework. Most importantly students should be

Our minds become open to new ideas and different ways of looking at the world through language and
its perspective culture(s). Diversity is something that needs to be celebrated in the classroom in a
positive light, especially teaching in rural areas that do not have a lot of exposure to diversity. Often
students reflect their parents views on certain groups of people, but in my classroom, the school, and
community students should recognize that being diverse is not a bad thing; it makes each of us unique.
It is vital to have a positive and respectful learning environment that is challenging, but also fun and
energetic. The environment should aid in motivating and helping students succeed at becoming
proficient in the Spanish language. According to Richard Clement, self confidence process becomes
the most important determinant of attitude and effort expended toward second language learning . Self
confidence is key throughout the language process in order to be successful learners! I see the
importance of being thoughtful to students mistakes! They need to accept those mistakes and move
forward, having learned the correct way to do or say something.
I also believe that besides providing a safe, self confident classroom environment that promotes
critical thinking skills and problem solving, it is important to show my

The Value Of College Education
The mindset of young people today is that school is, above all, a chore rather than an opportunity to
grow and be free. Today s youth will complain about classes being too demanding, but at the same
time continue to complain because there are no enjoyable courses. Schools are intended to create a
space where students can feel comfortable and confident enough to learn what they need to live
successful lives. However, this is not the case, as many students growing up, seem to be less
passionate about their actual education, and instead, are centered on the overall effect that comes from
receiving a higher education. Since currently job security and financial prosperity have been so
heavily linked with a college education or degree, young adults are strongly encouraged to go to
university. This leads them to have a desperation in order to succeed to ensure that future employers
will be tended to hire them because of their supposed academic abilities. This would then contribute to
the conclusion that to ensure the success of young adults, educational institutions need students to see
the value in their work ethic and the institution at a young age to then later apply this mentality into
the continuation of their education.
Lynda Barry talks to her readers that the school environment has the ability to provide its students
with a space to escape personal problems, like unstable homes. She expresses her belief that without
these foundations many young people, like herself, would

Gentrification And Income Inequality
The classism that gentrification brings into communities cannot be understated, simply because it is
one of the negative driven byproducts of it, because when individuals are forced to see homes in their
respective communities go for 2 to 3 times the market value for what they were previously going for,
it sends the message that those within a higher income bracket are able to dictate the set prices in real
estates. Furthermore, this financial inequality goes beyond just the housing market. Areas that have
seen the wholesale installment of the businesses that stem from gentrification are often overlooked
and not taken in consideration when it comes to the prices set by them. It is almost as if these

Taking a Look at Types of Lodging
These past few years, the lodging industry has been growing very significantly. The global hospitality
sector witnessed a strong appetite for growth in 2013, a trend that is set to continue and pick up pace
in 2014 (Strong Performance Predicted for Global Lodging Industry in 2014, 2014). A decade before,
there were no many options of the lodging accommodation. But with the massive growth of
hospitality industry, lodging accommodations are now varied. Full serviced hotels, hostels or
dormitories and Bed Breakfast are some of the examples.
First, the most popular lodging accommodation is hotel. Hotel can be defined as a structure that
provides sleeping accommodation to travelers and that usually features dining facilities and daily
housekeeping service (Akram, 2009). There are various kinds of hotel that can be distinguished by its
style, function, or location. For example, the trends that are getting popular nowadays are boutique
hotels. Boutique hotels are typically furnished in a themed, stylish and/or aspirational manner
(jonckie, 2011). While there are also business hotels which are targeted at the needs of business
travelers and tend to be located in city centres and at airports. Guestrooms are equipped with spacious
desks, and Internet connection (Akram, 2009). People choose hotels rather than other budget
accommodation because they are looking for nice facilities and services.
Another popular alternative is hostel. A hostel is a budget oriented,

The Field Of Physical Therapy
The day to day writing in the field of Physical Therapy varies depending on the audience. The
audience determines the purpose of the writing and writing style. Physical Therapists (PT) use
evidence based exercises and activities to rehabilitate their patients in order for them to reach their
unique goal. Since PT s work with both medical professionals and patients, they must adjust their
writing to be able to communicate effectively. PT s are just one of the many people in the medical
field that may work with a particular patient so it is important that the communication between the
different layers of the medical field are precise and clear. Writing to a patient is also important because
they are the person who is being directly affected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main audience a PT is writing to are people who have extensive understanding or are in the field.
Their purpose is to use that information for billing and to help make medical decisions which both
greatly impact the patient. Due to the potential impact of their understanding of the PT s writing, the
writing must be specific, descriptive, and contain jargon. A specific documentation layout named
SOAP was created for PT s to use to make sure all essential information is gathered. All PT s follow
the SOAP note format to document patient visits. SOAP notes were created to help keep consistency
through the field and to keep patient records organized and secure. SOAP notes are written to help the
PT critically think about the next step in their client s rehabilitation process. The format is used to
communicate information to other providers of care, to provide evidence of patient contact and to
inform the Clinical Reasoning process (Lowe SOAP Notes ). SOAP documentations aid in informing
and proving PT s work. The content is straight to the point and remains strictly factual which causes
shorter sentences. SOAP stands for subjective, objective, assessment, and plan (Lowe SOAP Notes ).
Each section aides in formulating an evaluation of the client s visit. A PT uses APA citation if they

  • 2. Compare and Contrast the Causes of the 1905 and 1917... Compare and contrast the causes of the 1905 and 1917 revolutions in Russia In 1905 and 1917 Russia was tormented by chaotic revolutions. The workers and the intelligentsia had arrived at the point of hating the autocracy because they could no longer endure the suffering, hunger and repression that the tsarist policies brought with them. Years later Lenin referred to the revolution of 1905 as a dress rehearsal for the October Revolution of 1917. In 1905 tsardom nearly fell. Nicholas II succeeded in remaining in power, stabilizing the situation, only thanks to various concessions. However, his continuing to rule harshly and unwisely brought him to be forced to abdicate in the February of 1917, signing the end of the Russian monarchy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The power still has to be snatched from the hands of the old rulers and handed over to the revolution. That is the fundamental task. A general strike only creates the necessary preconditions; it is quite inadequate for achieving the task itself (Trotsky). The ineffectiveness of the strikes can be found in the fact that in nearly every occasion the soldiers were ordered to shoot on the crowd, stopping the revolts and leaving the tsar as obnoxious to the situation as before. Also the peasants in the countryside suffered land hunger due to the growth of population caused by the decreased of mortality rates. Backwardness was also caused by the open field system , which didn t motivate the peasants to improve their machinery or seeding methods since their land would be taken away from them and redistributed when a member of the community died. Nicholas II was a weak, indecisive and obstinate ruler who, being very conservative and reactionary, used extensively the secret police ( Third Section ) and the army to suppress uprisings and political enemies. In this context, I observe, that the powerless concubine became all powerful she ran away twice from Sara. Her reasons for doing so might be many, most notable being that Hagar was the biological mother of Ishmael, and further the tables turned when Sara asked Abraham to send Hagar away there is a shift in the power roles. Hagar s acts of running away from Sara twice helps me perceive Hagar taking over the role of an oppressor from her former role of one being oppressed. • 7. A Very Short Introduction By Jonathan Culler In Literary Criticism A Very Short Introduction, author Jonathan Culler writes on feminist theory: on the one hand, feminist theorists champion the identity of women, demand rights for women, and promote women s writings as representations of the experience of women. On the other hand, feminists undertake a theoretical critique of the heterosexual matrix that organizes identities and cultures in terms of the opposition between man and woman (Culler 140). These two approaches, championing and critiquing can be found in both the works of Jane Austen and E.M. Forster. In their novels, we welcome a central female character who flourishes into their own understanding of the word, and provides their own literary voice to an overwhelmingly ... Rather, Lucy s character is merely that, her own, a full embodiment of herself, and ultimately this is the major revelation she transcends to through her journey in Forster s novel. Whereas Elizabeth seeks to prove a point of equality, Lucy seeks to embody that point. This does not discount Elizabeth s progressiveness, but rather is central to how these two characters embody a continuum of feminism s development. Both Elizabeth and Lucy exhibit strong determination, but contexts shape them differently. In the world of victorian England, Elizabeth Bennett rejects the man she is destined to love because he outwardly does not met the decorum of society and slights her with his mannerism. In a similar way, Lucy holds to her own private prejudices in her rejection of George Emerson. But George Emerson is a far cry from Mr. Darcy; George being someone who has grown up equalizing women whereas Darcy has grown up believing they have a place. Therefore, for Lucy, expectations are different because the shift in gender equality is already well underway. Throughout the novel bread crumbs are dropped for Lucy about her own potential, whereas for the females of Austen s Longbourn, marriage is their only opportunity, their lone certain way to escape. Even Elizabeth Bennett cannot escape this reality. In A Room with A View the female character s autonomy is placed front in center. Furthermore, femininity itself is burgeoning out of even ... • 11. The Regooco Art Movement Of The 18th Century The Rococo Art Movement During the 18th Century, there was a turning point to the basic style and mood of artists craft, due to The Enlightenment and The French Revolution. Towards the end of the dramatic and regal Baroque period, a lighter hearted method of painting came about, known as the Rococo style. It was considered a brighter and more amorously themed approach which affected many aspects of art including sculpting, painting, interior design, architecture, and more. Rococo art was shown on chapel ceilings in the form of frescoes, but was mainly a way of decoration for large wealthy homes. It was a sign of riches to have the curvy, intricate paintings and architecture among your archways, doors, and even chairs. Rococo paintings themselves featured lovey subjects without a main theme or meaning, jus the seen beauty. Rococo Art will forever be remembered as a great era of art that was in regal demand. The Rococo style of the 18th century movement was derived from an earlier Baroque style, which consisted of more biblical scenes and heroism than the light hearted Rococo. It consisted of much more idyllic scenes of love and beauty than that of the baroque style. The book The Baroque Period: Movements in Art explains Rococo art as, Instead of being used to teach people or influence their thoughts, art was primarily something to be admired and enjoyed. Gugliotta explains how scientists use mitochondrial DNA, which is passed on only from one s mother and has a fast mutation rate, to trace modern humans origin. By analyzing modern mitochondrial DNA and working backwards, scientists have found that a woman alive in Africa 200,000 years ago had the mitochondrial DNA that is found in people alive today. The woman was named Eve and she is, what scientists call, our most recent common ancestor. DNA evidence showed that she lived in Africa, which supports the out of Africa theory because it proves that modern humans originated in Africa. My sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, has had the biggest influence on not only my character, but my language as well. What first seemed like jargon has now become primary language. From learning new meanings for everyday vocabulary to different intonational patterns, my language has adapted to the environment that I have surrounded myself with for the past three years. These terms are average words that are used throughout the day by a vast majority of the world population. However, when the words are used in the sorority environment, they take on a completely new meaning. In other words, they are semantically altered. A primary example is the transition of the words big and little from adjectives to proper nouns. Instead of defining an object s size, these terms are now used to name your big and little sister in the sorority. I remember getting asked my freshman year, Are you going to rush? Essay on Analysis of Seamus Heaney s North Analysis of Seamus Heaney s North The poet Keats wrote that the only means of strengthening one s intellect is to make up one s own mind about nothing to let the mind be a thoroughfare for all thought, not a select body . That this may be an admirable aim for a poet, and especially so for one writing against a background of ethnic violence, is not in doubt. It is, however, extremely difficult to remain neutral when one identifies oneself with an ethnic party involved in conflict. It is my intention, then, in this essay, to document how Seamus Heaney s reaction to violence in his homeland has affected his writings, with particular reference to the volume of poetry entitled North . Reading these last two stanzas of the poem, it is not difficult to understand why it caused outrage upon its publication. To even the most liberal of readers it surely must seem that the poet is in league with those who tar and feather women merely for having friends from the wrong side . One can accept that a casual onlooker may not risk life and limb to intervene to aid a stranger; what one finds much more difficult to accept is that Heaney, on seeing young women tarred and weeping, understands the ... tribal, intimate revenge . This is poetry as catharsis. Although adultery and dating British soldiers are obviously two different things, they are both activities which occur outside the tribe. The sense of tribalism is present throughout and is presented as an inescapable and timeless pattern. Throughout the poem Heaney has apologetically distanced himself from violence, always ...the artful voyeur . To me adulthood is when you are able and willing to accept responsibility. If you cannot or will not be responsible, you have no right calling yourself an adult. What does make you a grown up? Others make functional and design improvements. And at this point product and brand differentiation begin to develop. The ensuing fight for the consumer s patronage poses to the originating producing an entirely new set of problems. Instead of seeking ways of getting consumers to try the product, the originator now faces the more compelling problem of getting them to prefer his brand. This generally requires important changes in marketing strategies and methods. At macro level the programming of this router is very efficient for statistically and dynamically reconfigurable systems. In parallel computers, it is common to use custom made routers. Researchers have started designing routers for good performance recently. These universally programmable router that are statistically and dynamically adaptable are believed to be very essential in the parallel computing field. Universal routers are essential for two reasons. First because of their static adaptability they are used to construct any parallel computer independent of channel width and topology. Second the channel width and the topology of a parallel network can be reconfigured more than once to match the requirements through implementation taking advantage of its dynamic adaptability. A programmable and adaptable router is proposed which can be used in any design independent of the chosen interconnection network. A programmable lookup table is used by this router to map processor addresses to physical network routes. These lookup tables maintained in the router makes it easy to modify the network topology based on network failures, requests from the application algorithm and changing workloads. The UPR makes routing decisions locally based on the destination address in the packet header and availability of outgoing channels. If ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each person is different and has different tastes so not everyone will pick the same one of these options. Once the choice is made based on personal preferences the person should take a few months before deciding how he feels about the diet. This amount of time is long enough for a habit to form. Habits generally take 21 days to form but this time span also allows the person to see if they get the result they want and decide what they think about it. If the person feels like the diet he choose is more of a burden but still wants to try other diets, he should go back to evaluating the information he originally found and choose another one. Absorption Spectrum Of Dyes Lab Report Absorption Spectrum of Conjugated Dyes Bashar Baraz Lab Partners: whole class Physical Chemistry II 3/22/2015 Abstract: The highly conjugated system of the cyanine dyes makes it a very good compound in the development of more efficient solar cells. In this experiment, the maximum wavelength was measured for nine dyes using a UV Vis spectrum. The result that were obtained agreed with Kuhn s model for the less polarizable end groups such as 3,3 diethyloxadicarbocyanine and 3,3 diethyloxatricarbocyanine. That suggested that these two compounds were not as easy to polarize compared to the rest of the dyes. The rest of the dyes required the use of the empirical parameter α to provide more reliable predictions of the wavelengths. This was due to the highly polarized ends of the dyes which needed the adjustment of the parameter to get more accurate results. The series with the higher polarizable end groups absorbed higher wavelength light than the less polarized groups. This supported the idea of the one dimensional box. Also, higher wavelength was determined to be associated with longer conjugated carbon methine chains between the Nitrogen atoms. Kuhn s free electron model was very reliable for this system. This can be seen in The Tragedy of Hamlet; Prince of Denmark with Hamlet s plan to murder Claudius for the death of his father, King Hamlet, and Laertes similar plan to murder Hamlet for the death of his father, Polonius. When someone is attempting to seek retribution against someone else, it results in that person deceiving the people they love to further progress their intentions. Because of revenge, ones suffering increases due to the continuous loss of relationships with your love ones. Revenge could even put you in a situation that could risk your own life. Throughout Shakespeare s play, William Shakespeare demonstrated how revenge leads to a path of deceit and despair. In the play, Hamlet shows how revenge can turn someone towards the dark side of life. This could be anywhere from lying and deceiving your loved ones to murdering helpless bystanders; all in order to further their own goal. Prior to Hamlet finding proof about what the ghost said, how Claudius murdered his father, he decided that if what he was told was true he would go down the path of vengeance to honor his father s memories. Hamlet started to lie to everyone he loved about his true intentions, so no one would suspect him attempting to kill the new king. He did this by tricking Polonius, Ophelia s father and King Claudius s advisor, into believing that the reason he was acting very strange was because he was terribly in love with Ophelia. In act two scene one, Ophelia exclaimed to her father that Hamlet acted as if he had been tossed out of hell... to speak of horrors he comes before me. Polonius responded by asking Mad for thy love? (93 95). Hamlet has succeeded in lying to everyone in the kingdom about why he is so depressed and confused by Polonius stating mad for thy love. Now all the characters believe he is just a normal teenage boy attempting to court a well known beauty. He can now continue his plan of murdering Claudius to seek vengeance for his father s death, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. The Value Of College Education The mindset of young people today is that school is, above all, a chore rather than an opportunity to grow and be free. Today s youth will complain about classes being too demanding, but at the same time continue to complain because there are no enjoyable courses. Schools are intended to create a space where students can feel comfortable and confident enough to learn what they need to live successful lives. However, this is not the case, as many students growing up, seem to be less passionate about their actual education, and instead, are centered on the overall effect that comes from receiving a higher education. Since currently job security and financial prosperity have been so heavily linked with a college education or degree, young adults are strongly encouraged to go to university. This leads them to have a desperation in order to succeed to ensure that future employers will be tended to hire them because of their supposed academic abilities. This would then contribute to the conclusion that to ensure the success of young adults, educational institutions need students to see the value in their work ethic and the institution at a young age to then later apply this mentality into the continuation of their education. Lynda Barry talks to her readers that the school environment has the ability to provide its students with a space to escape personal problems, like unstable homes. She expresses her belief that without these foundations many young people, like herself, would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Gentrification And Income Inequality The classism that gentrification brings into communities cannot be understated, simply because it is one of the negative driven byproducts of it, because when individuals are forced to see homes in their respective communities go for 2 to 3 times the market value for what they were previously going for, it sends the message that those within a higher income bracket are able to dictate the set prices in real estates. Furthermore, this financial inequality goes beyond just the housing market. Areas that have seen the wholesale installment of the businesses that stem from gentrification are often overlooked and not taken in consideration when it comes to the prices set by them. It is almost as if these independent coffee shops, Whole Foods Markets, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
