Critical Thinking In Action
Critical Thinking in Action: The Accident
Alesia Meredith
University of Maryland University College
Dr. Naomi Leventhal
October 12, 2016
This case begins on June 7, when John Schmidt, an employee, injured his hand severely while
operating a table saw in the production shop. Mr. Schmidt claims he was following standard operating
while operating the table saw and since he followed proper operating procedures while the table saw
was operational; therefore, the company is legible for his injuries. Mr. Schmidt claims assert the table
saw has a faulty design was unsafe. David Donald, the company manager, contends the table saw was
safe to operate as the shop supervisor, Harry Hiller, informed him. Mr. Hiller asserts that the table saw
was in excellent operational condition. Mr. Hiller states the table saw maintenance check has been
complete on a regularly basis and could produce the written records. Mr. Hiller contends he witness
Mr. Schmidt joking, laughing and goofing around with another co worker. However, other employees
also claim while in spite regular maintenance on the table saw, it was unsafe as the safety guard was
designed poorly which it did not function proficiently. He also claims he voiced his concerns to ...

If one tries to search the background on the conflict, you may note there must have been a reason for
the conflicting accounts. For example, there might have been a communication disorder (Armstrong,
2011). Such acts incline to be brought by poor information, lack of information and misinformation in
the company. The supervisor might not have given sufficient information to the employees regarding
the table saw before the accident. Another factor that may result in such a conflict is emotions because
letting emotions drive one tends to increase the viability of a conflict and such acts of being emotional
are brought by greed of power by individual in the

Procurement is the action where external source provides systems, goods, services, etc. for the
government itself or organizations that are depending on the government. Procurement by government
and for government is the stage where has the potential for corruption to happen. Therefore, we need
to pay attention on procurement to prevent corruption. What is most important in procurement is that
it must be announced in a public newspaper. E procurement on the other hand is the use of the internet
and information technology by the government to get goods prices in an open and fair competition for
every company, whether they are private or not. This means public and citizens can involved in this
process as well. This is the first step that e procurement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is necessary to name the benefits and advantages of e procurement. The main benefit is to engage
public sector into helping provide governmental requirements. E informing as well as e tendering and
e auctioning bring greater transparency will by the publishing of notices and contract electronically.
The public can check and control the procurement process through official websites (Novriyanto,
2008). As long as all the procedures are transparent enough, it makes all the parties, either the
government or the suppliers, be accountable based on activities they are doing, corruption reduction
happens as well. Since internet and communication technologies removed the geographical
restrictions, access to new suppliers are more available and thus marketplace is competitive.
Simplification of transaction processes makes ordering and approval faster One good example in this
area is Chile. In Chile, the ChileCompra e procurement system has been used to allow government
officials and citizens to compare the costs of bids to and services purchased by the government. The
prices of more than 500 outsourced services from over 6,000 providers are included in the system (??,
??). In addition to reducing corruption, this system expanded the number of small businesses that
could participate in the government bidding

Examples Of Antecedents Of Commitment
1.4.3 Antecedents Of Commitment
Antecedents of commitment are elements and actions that cause commitment to occur. These elements
foster employee perception that leads to positive consequences for the organization and the individual
(Fornes et al., 2008).
Tayyab (2006) categorized antecedents into intrinsic and extrinsic work motivation. Intrinsic values
are derived from individual s personal feelings and objectives, it comprises of feelings of enjoyment
and satisfaction which are derived from work well done, interest in organizational activities, desire to
seek higher job and better standards of living, recognition for work effort, and performance. Extrinsic
work motivation on the other hand is derived from the attainment of tangible rewards ... Show more

It has been highlighted that an organization s workforce is the most valuable asset of the organization.
Therefore, it is inherent that every organization stay committed to ensuring that the employees are
committed to their work. An employee with greater organizational commitment has a greater chance
of contributing to organizational success and will also experience higher levels of job satisfaction.
The following can be pointed out as some of the benefits derivable from having a committed
workforce.
According to (Vandenberg and Lance 1992:5), commitment leads to job satisfaction, which is the level
of contentment a person feels regarding his or her work. This can also affect performance. Job
satisfaction can be influenced by a person s ability to complete a required task, the level of
communication in the organization, and the way management treats the employees. When employees
have affective commitment towards organization, they tend to have an increased level of job
satisfaction.
Also, (Mathieu and Zajac, 1990) states that when employees are committed, it leads to an increase in
general job performance. Organizations will be able to increase their turnover levels when they have a
committed workforce (Barber et.al.,

Leadership Philosophy Of The Coast Guard
Subj: LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY 1. Leadership is the measure of one s ability to influence others
to work to achieve a goal. I say that it is the measure of one s ability because, a leader will always be
judged and when described, will normally have an adjective prior to the word leader. Some examples
are: He was a good leader or He was a horrible leader and could not lead ants to a cookie crumb.
Influencing people is the primary purpose of a leader. To influence people, one must realize that every
person is different and has their own motivating factors. In order to know what a person s motivating
factors are, a leader must know his people. Though, in this course it is said that the Coast Guard has
leaders and managers, I would argue that to be a leader in the Coast Guard, one must also be a
manager. A good leader could lead a group of people right off of a cliff, but should be able to manage
the situation, circumstances and resources, so as not to lead his/her people off of the proverbial cliff.
This can be seen in Leading Chiefs that do not manage their personnel allowance list (PAL), leading
their unit into a very unnecessarily difficult transfer season. 2. During the course of my career, through
two armed services, I have been influenced by numerous leaders. I can say, with absolute certainty,
that everyone is an example. Not all of those examples are good and those can be the best form of
influence. An example of what not to, do or be, can be more valuable than gold.

Adidas is a German worldwide corporation that designs and produce sports shoes, clothing and
accessories headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria. It is the largest sportswear manufacturer in
Europe and the second biggest in the world. Football kits and the associated equipment for football
has always been Adidas main focus . Adidas remains a major company in the supply of team kits for
international association football teams and clubs. Adidas makes referee kits. Adidas referee kits are
used in competition internationally and used by many countries and leagues in the world. Adidas has
been a go getter in the area of footwear for the sport, with famous examples including the 1979 release
of the Copa Mundial moulded boot used for matches on firm dry pitches. It holds the honor of the
bestselling boot of all time. The soft ground equivalent was named World Cup and it too remains on
the market, timeless and iconic. Adidas has been criticized for operating sweatshops, particularly in
Indonesia. Many of its suppliers that supported unions for subcontractors with less reputable labor
rights records were rejected by Adidas between 2006 and 2007. Adidas was also criticized for being
racist. a picture of a pair of Jeremy Scott designed shoes containing shackles was posted on june

The Beauty Myth Essay
This essay is for women who believe their thighs are too big, their breasts are too small, their hair is
boring, their skin is flawed, their body is shaped funny, or their clothes are outdated. This month s
column is for women who believe their life would improve if they could lose 15 pounds; if they could
afford contact lenses, that new perfume or anti cellulite concoction; if they got a nose job, a face lift, a

ABCE1 Case Study
ABCE1 binds in the ribosomal inter subunit space, interacting extensively via the HLH and hinge
elements with sites on the 40S subunit (h5 h15 and h8 h14) that constitute contact points for ribosome
bound translational GTPases (such as eRF3) and via NBD2 at a single site (rpL9) on the 60S subunit.
The FeS domain binds NBD2 and eRF1 s C domain. Given that ABCE1 binds sites on eRF1 (Preis et
al., 2014; Shao et al., 2016) and the 40S subunit that interact with eRF3, ABCE1 s association with
post TCs requires dissociation of eRF3. The mechanism of ABCE1 mediated ribosomal splitting

Whereas ABCE1 s weak intrinsic ATPase activity is strongly activated by eRF1 bound ribosomes,
stimulation by 40S subunits is weak, even though they bind strongly to ABCE1 (Pisarev et al, 2010).
Release of mRNA and deacylated tRNA from post termination ribosomal complexes Deacylated
tRNA and mRNA remain bound to the 40S subunit after release of the 60S subunit, and can be
released by eIF1, eIF1A, eIF3 and its weakly associated eIF3j subunit (Pisarev et al., 2007, 2010). The
multi subunit eIF3 binds to the 40S subunit s solvent side, extending from the mRNA entrance to the
exit (des Georges et al., 2015), interacting with eIF3j at the former site and with eIF1 at the latter. eIF1
and eIF1A bind to the interface subunit, on the platform adjacent to P site initiator tRNA and in the A
site, respectively. eIF1 discriminates against non initiator tRNAs in the P site (Lomakin et al., 2006)
and destabilizes their binding in a manner that it augmented by eIF1A and particularly eIF3 (Pisarev et
al., 2010). Release of P site tRNA leads to dissociation of mRNA in the absence of eIF3 and its partial
retention in its presence. eIF3j enhances release of mRNA. At concentrations below 1mM free Mg2+,
these factors can recycle post TCs, eIF3 being primarily responsible for ribosome splitting

Solar Energy Incentives
Subject: Financial Incentives to Expand Solar Power Adoption in the United States
Recommended Action
The lack of a nationwide solar power policy, alongside significant technical hurdles, hinders the
progress of renewable energy across the United States of America. Strengthen national policies by
introducing financial incentives for research, development, and manufacturing that tackle technical
challenges to the growth of renewable energy. Incentives such as tax breaks, low interest rate loans,
and grants will allow the renewable energy sector to implement cost effective solutions and be and
competitive against traditional energy sources.
Issues
The U.S. Department of Energy should implement a federal renewable energy policy of ... Show more

In addition, expanding the solar energy industry will spur job growth. Consumers want to adopt solar
energy because its price is less vulnerable than many other energy sources, like petroleum, to global
politics. Limited solar energy storage technologies present the main technical challenge of solar.
Current battery capacities are inadequate to store captured solar energy. Moreover, seasonal variability
in solar radiation and power demand peaks require the provision of adequate storage to make solar
power a practical, large scale energy source. It is also difficult to connect solar energy to the current
grids in America. The regulatory challenges involve governing access to the power grid, creating and
implementing legal structures for local ownership, and protecting local owners against larger utility
companies concerned with their market share.
By focusing on grid parity and technical challenges through financial incentives, the United States will
increase its usage of and benefits derived from solar energy usage. The financial incentives support
both consumers and suppliers to adopt and develop solar energy. If the new solar energy supplies cost
the same or less than previous energy because of these incentives achieving grid parity then
consumers will have fewer reasons not to switch to solar energy. If suppliers can provide the

2008 Global Economic Crisis
Due to globalizations and open trade unions, economies are more linked to each other.
So, the economic crisis in 2008 became the global economic crisis and influenced international
businesses. Economic activities were weakened, people lost their jobs, wages and benefits were
reduced and unemployment was rising. As far as the US government wanted to keep US economy
going they reduced already low interest rates and slowed down economic growth. US bank losses
were forecast to hit $1 trillion and European bank losses will reach $1.6 trillion. The International
Monetary Fund (IMF) estimated that US banks were about 60% through their losses, but British and
eurozone banks only 40%. (Lost Spaces, 2009). Financial systems, in this case, created the financial
crisis with devastating social and economic effects. Key impacts of the crisis are slow economic
growth, losses in real estate wealth and job losses, which directly influenced households and their
income. The government response was Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), through which the
government purchased toxic assets from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Further, 500,000 additional foreclosures began during the acute phase of the financial crisis. Since the
recession, 8.8 million jobs have been lost according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. According to the

(Goodman, 2009). The economic crisis reduced spending on social welfare programs and people lost
jobs which caused decreased consumption (Robe, Podpiera, 2013). Low incomes, depreciation of
houses, the high number of unemployed people and instability caused liquidity trap. So, people were
holding on their cash. On the market was not enough of qualified borrowers and investors were not

Rhetorical Analysis Of Norman Rockwell s Breakfast Table...
Norman Rockwell was a 20th century American painter and much of his work is a reflection of the
American culture.
Breakfast Table Political Argument was painted in 1948 during the presidential elections in the United
States. It is a narrative art, whereby it uses visual image to convey some truths. Its purpose is to show
us reality by way of detail, by setting of scene and by representation of two characters in a certain
situation. Rockwell was known for painting idyllic scenes of ordinary American life depicting a
happily ever after scenario. However, Breakfast Table Political Argument among others that Rockwell

He is extremely angry which can be seen from the way he leans forward threateningly. His wife shows
more restraint and sits back, straight backed against her chair and stares at her husband sulkily. The
wife s stoic demeanour and with her arms defiantly crossed at the chest suggest an empowerment
which the man is uncomfortable with. Here we see two contrasting halves to the painting. On the left
we see anger, discord and noise in the man and the child at his feet. On the opposite side we see
calmness with the quiet dog and control with the restrained woman. There is a juvenile tendency to her
response. One can question whether her stance is a representation of the early response of women who
had recently been given the right to vote. The women have won, but as of yet they are not confident to
retaliate to men s verbal violence against their achievement. Could this be the indifference Virginia
Woolf refers to in her essay about women and nationalism? Are we to conclude that the man is
compelled to fight? He is after all displaying his sex characteristic which she does not share and
because he does not share her maternal instinct he is oblivious to the crying of the child at his feet and
continues to shout at his wife. Further analysis of Rockwell s painting from a feminist perspective in

The Consequences Of The Vietnam War And The Pol Plot Genocide
Over last few decades Cambodia has faced the consequences of the Vietnam War and the Pol Plot
genocide, which left the country economically despaired and nearly half of the population under
twenty years old. Cambodia however attracts many visitors from across the world for its rich culture,
fascinating temples and picturesque beaches. Unfortunately, Cambodia is also known for sexual
tourism and in particular child sex tourism. The international community recognizes Cambodia s
trafficking epidemic, which child sex tourism falls under, and the United States ranks Cambodia as
Tier Two on its Trafficking Persons Watch List. It is important to note that there is no internationally
agreed upon definition of child sex tourism which in return perpetuates the problem. One may broadly
define child sex tourism as the sexual exploitation of children by a person who travels from his or her
home region in order to have sexual contact with children. Child sex tourists can be domestic
travellers of international tourists.
There are several factors that contribute to the perpetuation of Cambodia s problem. In this paper I
will discuss the problem, why it continues, what role the government plays in the matter, what legal
preventions the government has set in place, and the best possibly remedies to fix the child sex
tourism issue in Cambodia.

Common Traits And Characteristics Of Psychopaths
Area of Interest:
Common Traits and Characteristics of Psychopaths.
Research Questions:
1. What is the definition of a psychopath?
2. What is it about psychopaths that fascinate us?
3. Are there certain traits that make victims vulnerable to psychopathic manipulation?
4. What are some of the common traits of psychopaths?
Problem Statement:
Psychopaths are the group of people who kill over a longer period of time without being caught or
stopped. Unlike mass murderers, who may kill many people at one time, psychopaths usually have
reasons for killing, they will plan out where, when, why and how before they actually kill. Many enjoy

The research was obtained from limited sources which entailed internet searches and articles. The
information was gathered from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and college professors.
Hypothesis(ses):
1. If psychopathy is detected at a young age by a test given to the individual by a professional then it
is less likely for them to commit a crime in the future.
2. After being diagnosed with this personality disorder the individual can undergo treatment and
prevent future crimes.
Research Methodology:
The term psychopathy refers to a personality disorder that includes a cluster of interpersonal, affective,
lifestyle, and antisocial traits and behaviors. These involve deception; manipulation; irresponsibility;
impulsivity; stimulations seeking; poor behavior controls; shallow affect; lack of empathy, guilt, or
remorse; sexual promiscuity; callous disregard for the rights of others; and unethical and antisocial
behaviors (Babiak, et al. 2012).
A psychopath does not internalize their feelings of anxiety and guilt or fail to experience them
appropriately; instead, he lacks the fundamental understanding of what these things are. A psychopath
will try to insert himself into a crime scene, but wouldn t feel panic, shock, or horror unlike how the
other onlookers would feel. His interest would fall more on the reactions of the victims and of the
crowd. Despite this emotional deficiency, most psychopaths learn to mimic the appearance of normal
emotion well enough to

Metaphors In Dante s Inferno
Dante Alighieri was one of the most inspiring Italian poets in the middle ages. One of his greatest
writings is about the afterlife, from the depths of Hell in his own made Inferno, into the mountains of
Purgatory and in the ever lasting spirits of Heaven called the Paradiso. But my main focus on this
essay is what in Dante s life inspired him to write like he did, particularly his Inferno. Questions and
history may lead us to believe that was it was his love, war or political view that shaped him as an
artist. There is a gap in his history with some unknowns for the simplest things like what was his birth
date. But some metaphors from his Divine Comedy may answer these questions.
Even today, Dante is inspiring artists with his writings and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Florence at this time being a loathed, despised, derogated community with corruption and discard,
Dante Alighieri lived most of his days working on his writings that will last hundreds of years. Church
versus independence of the city states gave Dante the motivation to get involved of becoming a
member of political governing body. In this time Florence has split into two parties, Guelphs who
support the pope and Ghibellines that support the Roman Emperor with the need of more freedom.
Dante was part of the White Guelphs and fought in war of his cause but with seeing life and death in
the horrific battle of war, this may have lead to vision of his own Hell. Dante was exiled from the city
by Black Guelphs or else he would be burned to the stake in result of his family having to split apart

Talent Management is New Innovation Taking Over Human...
Businesses are moving into a new era concerning human resources (HR). The emergence of Talent
Management (TM) is the innovative focus that is combined with management issues and HR methods

companies identify competency issues and solve these through training or development options? How
can they manage their employees to affiliate them with company goals and missions? How can
organisations identify their top talent and reposition them to gain maximum outcome? These

Arundel Partners Investment Analysis Essay
Arundel Partners Investment Analysis
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Background
The proposed business venture, Arundel Partners, is an investment group which would purchase the
sequels rights associated with all films produced by 1 or more selected U.S. movie production studios
for a specified period of time, or a specified number of films. As your investment analysts, our goal is
to assess the value of the sequel rights to allow a determination of the value of the overall investment
as well as a reasonable price per film for the sequel rights.
Arundel Partners plans to pay to obtain a guarantee to the ownership ... Show more content on

A sequel is typically released to theaters 3 years after the orignal film s initial release. Sequel rights
also expire 3 years from the films initial release. Note that Arundel must declare, based on the
profitability of the first release, whether or not it will produce the sequel, prior to the expiration of the
rights at year 4.
RECOMMENDATION
Based on our valuation of the investment, as outlined below in the Analysis portion of the report, we
have determined a per movie value of $8.9 million when considering purchasing the rights to the
entire portfolio of 99 movies analyzed in the sample data. Based on production of 10 sequels, the per
movie value of the portfolio would be $52.25 million. Our calculations based on the hypothetical
portfolio is that Arundel Partners should make this investment as long as the present value of the
expected cash flows from the sequel revenues exceeds the cost of production plus the cost of the
investment. Depending on what value a studio will accept as payment per sequel, there appears to be
significant profitability in the investment.
ANALYSIS
As with all options there is more potential profit if the value of the underlying asset is very volatile.
Purchasing sequel rights prior to release of the films

Outsourcing Research Paper
Throughout my paper, my point is to portray the effect of the outsourcing of American occupations
abroad. There are two strong arguments with outsourcing: one that accepts the handiness and profits of
the outsourcing and the other that energetically restricts outsourcing and focus on its negatives.
Government organizations accept that outsourcing may decrease the expense of the assembling of
items and give administrations less expensive cost, and others feel that outsourcing has triggered huge
layoffs and loss of jobs. America needs to cease outsourcing due to the negative effects it has on our
country. Outsourcing takes occupations away from Americans, causes considerably more economic
issues, and can lessen the quality of materials. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The driving components for outsourcing are clear: lesser expenses all the way around. A machine
software engineer in India makes $5,880 to $11,000, while an American machine software engineer
wins in the middle of $60,000 and $80,000. American organizations stand to spare measures of cash
by outsourcing. Today, gauges of employment misfortune in the United States propose that in the last
ten years, between 400,000 to 500,000 data engineering preparing jobs have been outsourced. While
this speaks to a moderately little parcel of the United States work power of around 130 million
laborers (Tyson), concerns over the loss of profoundly talented employees and expectations that the
outsourcing pattern will keep on growing have made outsourcing an imperative and questionable
subject. Unfortunately, the wave of outsourcing is going to continue in the United States, and it is only
going to get worse. A UC Berkeley s Haas School of Business study noted that near 11 percent of all
occupations in the United States are helpless to outsourcing. Further, gauges demonstrate that
outsourcing is going to be an ongoing Phenom, as Forrester Research evaluates that by 2015, the
United States will lose 3.3 million jobs to outsourcing. Different assessments are higher, as

Jane Austen Feminism Essay
Jane Austen s writings are stories like ones that have happened in her life. In Ms. Austen s words she
once stated, It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune,
must be in want of a wife, (Bruno Introduction). She even traveled when writing, she would visit
family and friends when writing so she could grasp the lives over others not in her surroundings.
Austen was one of the most remarkable women of England. Jane Austen was a woman that endeared
heartbreak, problems, and discrimination which has helped shape her books and writings in a feminist
path. In the time period of the 18th century there was a lot of problems going on. When Austen was
born in 1775 a war broke out between British and the American colonist of the thirteen colonies due to
the want of independence from the colonist. In 1778 parliament passed the Catholic Relief Act, this
act removed all restrictions towards Catholics in Britain. During 1783 British loyalist started realizing
that colonists were winning the war and evacuated the colonies. On February 1, 1793 Britain goes to

Conspicuous Consumption in Sinclair Lewis Babbit Essay
Conspicuous Consumption in Sinclair Lewis Babbit
The idea of conspicuous consumption, or buying unnecessary items to show one s wealth, can be seen
in Babbitt by Sinclair Lewis. Lewis describes the main character of the book, George F. Babbitt, as a
person who has his values and priorities all mixed up. Babbitt buys the most expensive and modern
material goods just to make himself happy and make people around his aware of his status. He is more
concerned about these items than about his wife or children and to him, god was Modern Appliances

in Babbitt s house the towel rack was a rod of clear glass set in nickel (5). Even the tooth brush holder,
shaving brush holder, soap dish...resembled an electrical instrument board (5). The Babbitt bedroom
was full of things deemed valuable, like toilet articles of almost solid silver and mattresses which had
cost a great deal of money (13 14). Their house had the latest conveniences such as three plugs for
electric lamps and a dining room with its admirable oak buffet and leaded glass cupboard (14). Babbitt
had everything at home and even the very best of water coolers, up to date, scientific, and right
thinking (32) at the office. To him, having all of this was why his life was worth living. He would buy
items of great monetary value, and in return, his social standing would rise. Lewis wants to show the
reader that material possessions are not everything, and can lead one astray. Babbitt thought he had it

was a wife and children who cared for him and whom he loved with all his heart. His life had no

Coppola Genre Criticism
In other words, what would enable spectator to think that Marie is just a teenage girl, not the dauphine
of France in historical biopic despite of the costumes and film setting, is Coppola s use of a
contemporary pop and her aesthetic style. In short, as Coppola s engage with multiple border crossings
or in between spaces in her film often places the characters into vulnerable positions, she do so in
between stages where their identities are under erasure (Handyside 2007, 10). Genre criticism, on the
other hand, was emerged from a backlash against auteurism with the growing dissatisfaction in the
mid 1960s and early 1970s (Gledhill 2007, 252). Whereas the romantic tendency of auteur theory
which used to categorise the directors by a canon of the good or great directors and the rest (Hayward
2013, 30), genre seemed to offer critics a far more inclusive and democratic method, one which was
attuned to the industrial and commercial imperatives of Hollywood (Watson 2012, 189). The main
purpose of genre was an association of the concerns of film industry with the desires of its audiences
in so doing, it functions as a financial security blanket for the industry; a set of precepts and
expectations for audience; and a critical frame work for reviewers (189). Moreover, repetition is a
necessary instance of process in genre because genres establish a regulation of the variety of
mainstream narrative across a series of individual texts, organising and systematising the

Actors in the Humanitarian Community
It has always been said that the things that are unlikely to happen does actually happen during an
emergency or in a crisis situation. If one accept that it is by fate a crisis happens and do not have any
precautionary measures, then the crisis management is doomed to fail. This holds true when dealing
with humanitarian aids after a disaster, whether man made or of natural cause. It is then of utmost
importance that all the actors in the humanitarian community knows their roles and get their acts
together harmoniously. Figure 1 shows the link between these different actors and how they work
together (GHA Report, 2011). Who are then these actors within the humanitarian community? Actors
in the Humanitarian Community Government A government s role within the humanitarian
community can be classified into two categories. A country may take the role of a recipient or a donor
(GHA, 2014). A government s response is crucial particularly for a recipient government. Though it is
important for individual citizen have their personal contingency plans, but majority of the problems
that arise from a disaster are beyond the individual s capability to solve. The government, along with
its many branches such as the military and local government must fill in the void. the government
should designate evacuation centers, rebuild destroyed houses and take care of the basic needs for the
affected as soon as possible. The government must also act quickly to create a logistics roadmap in

What Is the Current Laws Relating to the Implication of...
The current Victorian laws on the implication of the duty of good faith in commercial contracts run in
parallel with Commonwealth laws in this area. In both jurisdictions the law in respect to both the
scope and nature of the duty of good faith is relatively unsettled. Judicial and jurisdictional
discrepancies surrounding rulings on the duty of good faith is evident. This is the case even though the
High Court of Australia has acknowledged the existence and potential scope of the duty of good faith
as important issues It is yet to expressly consider the matter in detail . As such, debate in various
Australian authorities concerning the existence and content of the implied...duty of good faith and fair
dealing is commonplace. Each state s courts have delivered varying judgments on the scope,
interpretation and application of the implied duty of good faith in a commercial context. Victoria has
diverged most notably from the NSW interpretation whereby Victoria generally implies the duty of
good faith in fact rather than in law . Currently, there is much debate over what constitutes good faith .
However, both jurisdictions have tended to agree on the conflated nature of the concepts of the
implied terms of good faith and reasonableness and the obligation requiring parties to not act
capriciously . The courts also tend to share a reluctance to conclude that commercial contracts are of
the class which requires the universal implication of the duty of good faith . However,

Analysis Of Like Water For Chocolate By Laura Esquivel
In Laura Esquivel s novel Like Water for Chocolate , she skillfully illustrates that love is a powerful
that can either make or break us. The author portrays this conflict through The use of descriptive
metaphors and indirect symbolism. As Esquivel describes the inner emotions of Tita; the main
protagonist, through the use of descriptive metaphors she asserts that The anger she felt within her
acted like yeast on bread dough. She felt it s rapid rising flowing into every last recess of her body;
like yeast in a small bowl, it spilled over to the outside, escaping in the form of steam through her
ears, nose, and all her pores (Esquivel 149). Her use of metaphors enable the reader to visualize Tita s

Jealousy in William Shakespeare s Othello Essay
Jealousy in William Shakespeare s Othello
In the play Othello, jealousy and envy are prominent themes from the beginning to the end. As the
play slowly unfolds it is evident that jealousy is the cause of most of the dramatic actions which take
place in the duration of the play. It is described as the green eyed monster. Green representing the
colour of envy, and monster shows how destructive and how vicious it can be. This quotation is said
by a character named Iago. Iago has a strong manipulative mind. He is the first of all the characters in

There are other characters that are affected by jealousy and resentment in the play as well as Othello.
There is a character called Roderigo who also suffers from jealousy. He is very eager to be with
Desdemona, who is Othello s wife. He refers to Othello as thick lips as he is black. This is a racist
comment and also shows how much Roderigo envy s Othello as Desdemona loves him and not
Roderigo.
As mentioned previously, Othello is not affected by the jealousy instantly. It is apparent that his love
for Desdemona is true. Although people have doubted if their love is true for each other. Brabantio
refers to Othello s love for Desdemona as if she in chains of magic were not bound this shows that
Brabantio is also feeling jealousy. Brabantio s relation to Desdemona is her father and he thinks that
Desdemona is showing Othello more love than she is showing to him. He is saying that Othello has
used some sort of magic to make his daughter fall in love with him. Nevertheless, Othello has only
used nothing as their love is true. Othello says she loved me for the dangers I have passed, and I loved
her, that she did pity them. This is the only witchcraft I have used Othello says that Desdemona fell in

Analysis Of The Passage By Dalton Trumbo
¨Parents act so strong for us, that we often forget just how fragile they are.¨ As we grow we often find
ourselves not spending as much of our free time with our parents as we had when we could barely
speak a sentence without having bad grammar. This maturing state is something all of us experience.
We become more interactive with sports, friends, relationships, and we forget who gave us this
wonderful life. In the following stories of ¨ The Passage¨, ¨Through the Tunnel¨ , and ¨American
History¨ the author utilizes dialogue to indicate the disconnection from their parents in the journey to
adulthood.
In the story The Passage By Dalton Trumbo, the author portrays coming of age and the beginning of a
new chapter in life through the dialogue between the protagonist, Joe, and his father. The bond
between Joe and his father is exhibited as very stable and happy. Their bond displays the attachment
every adolescent acquires with their parents; as we learn almost everything basic to life from our
parents. This short story suggests that at one period in time we start to grow out of adolescence into
young adults and begin to detach from our forever known guardians and heroes. We begin to mature
and become more distracted with friends, school, sports, etc.. Joe, in this short story, depicts this
detachment from our parents as we grow for example in paragraph two: Now he was 15 and Bill
Harper was going to come tomorrow... Tomorrow for the first time in all their trips

What Is The Theme Of Alienation In Brave New World
It is not uncommon for someone to experience being cut off from their home ; you are cut off when
you go to college, the military, move, study abroad, etc. However, in these situations people tend to
adapt, but imagine going somewhere where everything is different; the way people eat, socialize,
sleep, have relationships, everything changes. Some people could say this is similar to moving into
another country where the culture and language is different. In situations where everything you ve
come accustomed to changes, you can feel like you don t belong. However, immersing yourself in a
completely different lifestyle can also be enlightening. For John leaving his home meant everything
was changing, but because his exile, he is not only alienated but enriched with completely different
outlooks on life. In the novel Brave New World, Aldous Huxley uses imagery to develop John s
experience and to show that exile brings both alienation and enlightenment in order to illustrate the
theme of happiness is not worth individualism.
Alex Huxley contrasts John s home and the Ford society in order to show that exile can bring
alienation. Prior to John being cut off from his home, two members of the Ford society visit. Huxley
uses imagery to contrast John s birthplace to the part of society that follows the Ford way. When
Lenina and Bernard visit the reservation where John was born, Alex Huxley says The place was queer,
so was the music, so were the clothes and the goitres and the skin

How Is Jerry Alike
I think Jerry, the main character, needs friends but is adventurous because he wants respect, he is
lonely, and above all he is awkward. In this realistic fiction book by Doris Lessing, the main character
Jerry, goes to a beach and he meets some boys that go through an underwater tunnel, and he wants to
go too. In the book, it says that Jerry s mom is a widow so he has no dad. This could make him want
friends even more than other people because he doesn t have a dad to play catch with or something. I
think that s why that Jerry wants to make friends with the big boys, who were the other kids on the
beach. The first piece of evidence is To be with them, of them, was a craving that filled his whole
body. This supports my claim that Jerry is lonely because this piece of evidence means that Jerry
doesn t just need friends, he also wants friends. This is important because in order to have friends, you
need to want friends (although exceptions exist (me)). Another piece of evidence shows that Jerry is
awkward on page 5, where it says and now, in a panic of failure, he yelled up, in English, Look at me!
Look! and he began splashing and kicking in the water like a foolish dog. This shows he is awkward
because no normal kid what splash and kick in the water and scream Look at me! Look! Unless they

study on knowledge of performance, the researchers found how the knowledge of results that were
given to much older patients once every five times had a better result at the end of practice than those
that got feedback every time after performing (Nunes, Souza, Basso, Monteiro, Corrêa, and Santos, 2).
From this study, I will use what I read and see how much of a difference they improve. To give them
feedback on their knowledge of performance, I can let them know if their rear end is sticking out
correctly and if their knees are passing their toes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Motor learning can be integrated into my faith by seeing how there are types of patients who have
gone through many trials and face obstacles in life. Patients that go to physical therapy can give them
an opportunity to heal and recover from their injuries. Know that I can serve God through this career
helps motivates to do His work and glorify Him. Patients I will meet will have a special characteristic,
and I will design a plan that suits for them. Some patients will probably need verbal encouragement
while other patients will need physical support or various feedbacks. Even though the patients may
differ, I will help them well and show God s love through the actions. We are all made in the image of
God, and I definitely would want each patient to know and understand that they are special and unique
in God s eyes. Life is very special to people and I am sure a lot of people would want to keep living
for a very long time. Even for non believers, they know life is very valuable, so whenever an injury
occurs, they want to do whatever they can to recover from the injury so that they can go back to their
daily lives. Teaching motor skills to people will give me an opportunity to spend time with them as
well as getting to know them. This will hopefully give me the chance to speak to them about my faith
and tell them how wonderful our God is.

The God Day And Night
According to Scripture, we see a vast gathering around the throne of God serving the Lord day and
night (Revelation 7). We also have an enemy that appears before the throne of God day and night. The
Bible says in Revelation 12:10 in the King James Version that Satan accuses us day and night, for the
accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night looking for
some fault with which to charge us as guilty. Where the angels and the host of heaven come to serve
the Lord day and night, Satan comes to accuse us day and night. The Greek definition of the word
accuser is a verb (an action word) which means;
1. to accuse a. before a judge: to make an accusation b. of an extra judicial accusation This ... Show

cause to appear, bring before the public 2. to raise up, stir up, against one 3. to raise up i.e. cause to be
born 4. of buildings, to raise up, construct, erect
There are some interesting things I see here is this prim root definition of accuser which is the Greek
word Egeiro. This is a verb where you can see much action taking place. I will take you behind the
scenes into the unseen realm and explain what God has revealed to me that this is.
Here you have Satan who is aroused from sleep. Something caused him to arise. He was lying down at
our feet because of the blood of Jesus in which we have forgiveness of sin, subdued and rendered
powerless. For example, when we gave our hearts to the Lord, we confessed our sins and asked God s
forgiveness and we were cleansed by the blood of the Lamb. If this is true, how can Satan be aroused
again to rise against us? It is simple. When we initially got saved, our sins were cleansed, and we
entered the Kingdom of Heaven. Does that mean we will never sin again? No. It means we don t have
to be a slave to sin. When we do sin, before or after salvation, the accusations still come. When we
pray and confess our sins and

Archetypes In The Rising Essay
Bruce Springsteen s song The Rising is a requiem to those who lost their lives on 9/11 trying to save
others. He uses images, archetypes, and phrases with literal and figurative meanings to honor the
personal virtues of first responders, console the mourners, and provide inspiration and hope to the
country. Springsteen includes archetypes to alter the tone throughout the song. The firefighter made
his way through the darkness , where he [Couldn t] see nothin in front of [him] and [Couldn t] see
nothin coming up behind . The firefighter represents all of the emergency responders on 9/11. The
darkness depicts the fear and uncertainty the first responders felt rushing into the towers and
symbolizes the captivity and imprisonment of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By putting this into the song, it unifies and helps console people because they know others are feeling
the same way they do. Springsteen released his album The Rising in 2002 after reading many
obituaries of people who died on 9/11 that mentioned they were fans of his. After riding down the
street a few days after 9/11, someone rolled the window down and yelled to Springsteen We need you
now! This motivated Springsteen to release his album, named after the title song, The Rising .
Springsteen urged the firefighter to come on up for the rising into the afterlife, and at the same time
invited the country to rise up, unify, and transcend the tragedy of 9/11. Unlike other songs that came
out after 9/11 which called for revenge, he gave the depressed and mourning country a sense of hope,
that we can comeback from this catastrophe if we rise up together and rebuild, rather than rising up to

Trifles Influence On Theatre
Going into the 20th century, many theatre productions were very melodramatic. They had over
exaggerated motions and actions, and were aimed towards an upper class audience. However, once
realism was introduced, spurred by the influence of photography, the audience of plays shifted from
the upper class to the middle class. And it was at this point that plays like Trifles, Waiting for Lefty,
and Mulatto began ushering in the type of theatre we know today, where the setting often reflects the
society of the time of production. When photography took the art world by storm, it also had a large
influence on the theatre world as well. Staging and setting took on a more realistic appearance, trying
to make it look believable, like this could actually happen in the real world. The realism movement in
theatre really began with the Provincetown Players namely Eugene O Neill and Susan Glaspell, author
of Trifles. These playwrights became known for writing for and about everyday people and events.
And being written in 1916, Trifles focused on a topic quite popular at the time women s role in
society. At this time, the issue of women s voting rights was very popular now, with the constitutional

And the stories in this play reflected the feelings of many middle class people of the time. Written in
1935, the Great Depression was well under way. And most of the stories concerned monetary issues
obviously very common during the Great Depression Era. But it was written to be an agitprop, that is
a story that tries to combine an emotional connection to the story with a political message. And that s
just what it ended up being, ending as a sort of dramatized call to arms. It ended up being very
successful, too, becoming the most produced play from 1935 1960 across the

Manifest Destiny Is Dumb
Manifest Destiny is Dumb
One of the largest issues at the moment is Manifest Destiny, and if it actually applies to Texas, should
we annex Texas to follow our God Given Right , or deny them to reduce risk of war? If we do decide
to allow them to enter, Mexico would be very displeased with us, and because of that, we would be
displeased with them, resulting is a high chance of war with Mexico.
Even if God did give us the right of moving westward, is this what he meant by it? Possibly killing
thousands of Mexicans and theoretically torturing thousands more of Indians by pushing them off the
land of their ancestors through a trail of tears, and to an unknown environment with mysterious
climates? We are becoming Britain much too rapidly, we were

Procurement by government and for government is the stage where has the potential for corruption to happen. Therefore, we need to pay attention on procurement to prevent corruption. What is most important in procurement is that it must be announced in a public newspaper. E informing as well as e tendering and e auctioning bring greater transparency will by the publishing of notices and contract electronically. The public can check and control the procurement process through official websites (Novriyanto, 2008). As long as all the procedures are transparent enough, it makes all the parties, either the government or the suppliers, be accountable based on activities they are doing, corruption reduction happens as well. Since internet and communication technologies removed the geographical restrictions, access to new suppliers are more available and thus marketplace is competitive. Tayyab (2006) categorized antecedents into intrinsic and extrinsic work motivation. Intrinsic values are derived from individual s personal feelings and objectives, it comprises of feelings of enjoyment and satisfaction which are derived from work well done, interest in organizational activities, desire to seek higher job and better standards of living, recognition for work effort, and performance. It has been highlighted that an organization s workforce is the most valuable asset of the organization. Therefore, it is inherent that every organization stay committed to ensuring that the employees are committed to their work. An employee with greater organizational commitment has a greater chance of contributing to organizational success and will also experience higher levels of job satisfaction. The following can be pointed out as some of the benefits derivable from having a committed workforce. According to (Vandenberg and Lance 1992:5), commitment leads to job satisfaction, which is the level of contentment a person feels regarding his or her work. This can also affect performance. Job satisfaction can be influenced by a person s ability to complete a required task, the level of communication in the organization, and the way management treats the employees. When employees have affective commitment towards organization, they tend to have an increased level of job satisfaction. • 5. Leadership Philosophy Of The Coast Guard Subj: LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY 1. Leadership is the measure of one s ability to influence others to work to achieve a goal. I say that it is the measure of one s ability because, a leader will always be judged and when described, will normally have an adjective prior to the word leader. Some examples are: He was a good leader or He was a horrible leader and could not lead ants to a cookie crumb. Influencing people is the primary purpose of a leader. To influence people, one must realize that every person is different and has their own motivating factors. In order to know what a person s motivating factors are, a leader must know his people. Though, in this course it is said that the Coast Guard has leaders and managers, I would argue that to be a leader in the Coast Guard, one must also be a manager. A good leader could lead a group of people right off of a cliff, but should be able to manage the situation, circumstances and resources, so as not to lead his/her people off of the proverbial cliff. This can be seen in Leading Chiefs that do not manage their personnel allowance list (PAL), leading their unit into a very unnecessarily difficult transfer season. 2. During the course of my career, through two armed services, I have been influenced by numerous leaders. I can say, with absolute certainty, that everyone is an example. Not all of those examples are good and those can be the best form of influence. An example of what not to, do or be, can be more valuable than gold. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whereas ABCE1 s weak intrinsic ATPase activity is strongly activated by eRF1 bound ribosomes, stimulation by 40S subunits is weak, even though they bind strongly to ABCE1 (Pisarev et al, 2010). Release of mRNA and deacylated tRNA from post termination ribosomal complexes Deacylated tRNA and mRNA remain bound to the 40S subunit after release of the 60S subunit, and can be released by eIF1, eIF1A, eIF3 and its weakly associated eIF3j subunit (Pisarev et al., 2007, 2010). The multi subunit eIF3 binds to the 40S subunit s solvent side, extending from the mRNA entrance to the exit (des Georges et al., 2015), interacting with eIF3j at the former site and with eIF1 at the latter. eIF1 and eIF1A bind to the interface subunit, on the platform adjacent to P site initiator tRNA and in the A site, respectively. eIF1 discriminates against non initiator tRNAs in the P site (Lomakin et al., 2006) and destabilizes their binding in a manner that it augmented by eIF1A and particularly eIF3 (Pisarev et al., 2010). Release of P site tRNA leads to dissociation of mRNA in the absence of eIF3 and its partial retention in its presence. eIF3j enhances release of mRNA. Solar Energy Incentives Subject: Financial Incentives to Expand Solar Power Adoption in the United States Recommended Action The lack of a nationwide solar power policy, alongside significant technical hurdles, hinders the progress of renewable energy across the United States of America. Strengthen national policies by introducing financial incentives for research, development, and manufacturing that tackle technical challenges to the growth of renewable energy. Incentives such as tax breaks, low interest rate loans, and grants will allow the renewable energy sector to implement cost effective solutions and be and competitive against traditional energy sources. In addition, expanding the solar energy industry will spur job growth. Consumers want to adopt solar energy because its price is less vulnerable than many other energy sources, like petroleum, to global politics. Limited solar energy storage technologies present the main technical challenge of solar. Current battery capacities are inadequate to store captured solar energy. Moreover, seasonal variability in solar radiation and power demand peaks require the provision of adequate storage to make solar power a practical, large scale energy source. It is also difficult to connect solar energy to the current grids in America. The regulatory challenges involve governing access to the power grid, creating and implementing legal structures for local ownership, and protecting local owners against larger utility companies concerned with their market share. By focusing on grid parity and technical challenges through financial incentives, the United States will increase its usage of and benefits derived from solar energy usage. The financial incentives support both consumers and suppliers to adopt and develop solar energy. If the new solar energy supplies cost the same or less than previous energy because of these incentives achieving grid parity then consumers will have fewer reasons not to switch to solar energy. So, the economic crisis in 2008 became the global economic crisis and influenced international businesses. Economic activities were weakened, people lost their jobs, wages and benefits were reduced and unemployment was rising. As far as the US government wanted to keep US economy going they reduced already low interest rates and slowed down economic growth. US bank losses were forecast to hit $1 trillion and European bank losses will reach $1.6 trillion. Financial systems, in this case, created the financial crisis with devastating social and economic effects. Breakfast Table Political Argument was painted in 1948 during the presidential elections in the United States. It is a narrative art, whereby it uses visual image to convey some truths. Its purpose is to show us reality by way of detail, by setting of scene and by representation of two characters in a certain situation. On the left we see anger, discord and noise in the man and the child at his feet. On the opposite side we see calmness with the quiet dog and control with the restrained woman. There is a juvenile tendency to her response. One can question whether her stance is a representation of the early response of women who had recently been given the right to vote. The women have won, but as of yet they are not confident to retaliate to men s verbal violence against their achievement. Could this be the indifference Virginia Woolf refers to in her essay about women and nationalism? Are we to conclude that the man is compelled to fight? The international community recognizes Cambodia s trafficking epidemic, which child sex tourism falls under, and the United States ranks Cambodia as Tier Two on its Trafficking Persons Watch List. It is important to note that there is no internationally agreed upon definition of child sex tourism which in return perpetuates the problem. One may broadly define child sex tourism as the sexual exploitation of children by a person who travels from his or her home region in order to have sexual contact with children. Child sex tourists can be domestic travellers of international tourists. There are several factors that contribute to the perpetuation of Cambodia s problem. After being diagnosed with this personality disorder the individual can undergo treatment and prevent future crimes. • 29. Coppola Genre Criticism In other words, what would enable spectator to think that Marie is just a teenage girl, not the dauphine of France in historical biopic despite of the costumes and film setting, is Coppola s use of a contemporary pop and her aesthetic style. In short, as Coppola s engage with multiple border crossings or in between spaces in her film often places the characters into vulnerable positions, she do so in between stages where their identities are under erasure (Handyside 2007, 10). Genre criticism, on the other hand, was emerged from a backlash against auteurism with the growing dissatisfaction in the mid 1960s and early 1970s (Gledhill 2007, 252). Whereas the romantic tendency of auteur theory which used to categorise the directors by a canon of the good or great directors and the rest (Hayward 2013, 30), genre seemed to offer critics a far more inclusive and democratic method, one which was attuned to the industrial and commercial imperatives of Hollywood (Watson 2012, 189). The main purpose of genre was an association of the concerns of film industry with the desires of its audiences in so doing, it functions as a financial security blanket for the industry; a set of precepts and expectations for audience; and a critical frame work for reviewers (189). Moreover, repetition is a necessary instance of process in genre because genres establish a regulation of the variety of mainstream narrative across a series of individual texts, organising and systematising the ... If one accept that it is by fate a crisis happens and do not have any precautionary measures, then the crisis management is doomed to fail. This holds true when dealing with humanitarian aids after a disaster, whether man made or of natural cause. It is then of utmost importance that all the actors in the humanitarian community knows their roles and get their acts together harmoniously. Currently, there is much debate over what constitutes good faith . However, both jurisdictions have tended to agree on the conflated nature of the concepts of the implied terms of good faith and reasonableness and the obligation requiring parties to not act capriciously . Analysis Of The Passage By Dalton Trumbo ¨Parents act so strong for us, that we often forget just how fragile they are.¨ As we grow we often find ourselves not spending as much of our free time with our parents as we had when we could barely speak a sentence without having bad grammar. This maturing state is something all of us experience. We become more interactive with sports, friends, relationships, and we forget who gave us this wonderful life. In the following stories of ¨ The Passage¨, ¨Through the Tunnel¨ , and ¨American History¨ the author utilizes dialogue to indicate the disconnection from their parents in the journey to adulthood. In the story The Passage By Dalton Trumbo, the author portrays coming of age and the beginning of a new chapter in life through the dialogue between the protagonist, Joe, and his father. The bond between Joe and his father is exhibited as very stable and happy. Their bond displays the attachment every adolescent acquires with their parents; as we learn almost everything basic to life from our parents. This short story suggests that at one period in time we start to grow out of adolescence into young adults and begin to detach from our forever known guardians and heroes. We begin to mature and become more distracted with friends, school, sports, etc.. Joe, in this short story, depicts this detachment from our parents as we grow for example in paragraph two: Now he was 15 and Bill Harper was going to come tomorrow... • 38. What Is The Theme Of Alienation In Brave New World It is not uncommon for someone to experience being cut off from their home ; you are cut off when you go to college, the military, move, study abroad, etc. However, in these situations people tend to adapt, but imagine going somewhere where everything is different; the way people eat, socialize, sleep, have relationships, everything changes. Some people could say this is similar to moving into another country where the culture and language is different. In situations where everything you ve come accustomed to changes, you can feel like you don t belong. However, immersing yourself in a completely different lifestyle can also be enlightening. For John leaving his home meant everything was changing, but because his exile, he is not only alienated but enriched with completely different outlooks on life. In the novel Brave New World, Aldous Huxley uses imagery to develop John s experience and to show that exile brings both alienation and enlightenment in order to illustrate the theme of happiness is not worth individualism. Alex Huxley contrasts John s home and the Ford society in order to show that exile can bring alienation. Prior to John being cut off from his home, two members of the Ford society visit. Huxley uses imagery to contrast John s birthplace to the part of society that follows the Ford way. In this realistic fiction book by Doris Lessing, the main character Jerry, goes to a beach and he meets some boys that go through an underwater tunnel, and he wants to go too. In the book, it says that Jerry s mom is a widow so he has no dad. This could make him want friends even more than other people because he doesn t have a dad to play catch with or something. I think that s why that Jerry wants to make friends with the big boys, who were the other kids on the beach. The first piece of evidence is To be with them, of them, was a craving that filled his whole body. This supports my claim that Jerry is lonely because this piece of evidence means that Jerry doesn t just need friends, he also wants friends. This is important because in order to have friends, you need to want friends (although exceptions exist (me)). Another piece of evidence shows that Jerry is awkward on page 5, where it says and now, in a panic of failure, he yelled up, in English, Look at me! For example, when we gave our hearts to the Lord, we confessed our sins and asked God s forgiveness and we were cleansed by the blood of the Lamb. If this is true, how can Satan be aroused again to rise against us? It is simple. When we initially got saved, our sins were cleansed, and we entered the Kingdom of Heaven. They had over exaggerated motions and actions, and were aimed towards an upper class audience. However, once realism was introduced, spurred by the influence of photography, the audience of plays shifted from the upper class to the middle class. And it was at this point that plays like Trifles, Waiting for Lefty, and Mulatto began ushering in the type of theatre we know today, where the setting often reflects the society of the time of production. When photography took the art world by storm, it also had a large influence on the theatre world as well. Staging and setting took on a more realistic appearance, trying to make it look believable, like this could actually happen in the real world. The realism movement in theatre really began with the Provincetown Players namely Eugene O Neill and Susan Glaspell, author of Trifles.
