Summary Of The Essay Not Rants
Essays, Not Rants! 218: A Response
There s a recent New York Times article I came across that laments how the rise of the superhero
genre has conflated actor stardom with character stardom. The article itself doesn t really chase down
the points too well, but the central gist (as far as I can see) is that in the recent slate of films,
characters have come to trump actors. As Wesley Morris suggests in the article, when you watch
Oceans Eleven, it s George Clooney doing all the cool stuff as Danny Ocean; but when you watch
Rush, you don t see Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt, you see Thor as James Hunt. And as more big
name actors get roped in to superhero films (Cate Blanchett s gonna be in Thor: Ragnarok!), it s more
actors being roped in to playing a specific character.
Which makes Morris point of view seem a little weird. He implies that the fun of Ocean s Eleven is
seeing the star studded cast play off of each other, whereas Civil War is more about watching the
characters interact; the former being better. Which begs the question of whether or not you re
supposed to forget that it s an actor playing a character and not something happening before you.
Now, the attitude here feels a lot like that kid who s angry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In any case, based on the title, is about the changing role of celebrity that the uptick of superhero film
franchises have brought about. Which, alright, sure; but we ve also changed from the studio system of
the 50s. Marvel with the MCU (and, Fox with X Men and DC with their attempts at catchup) are
working on a new form of storytelling, one that sits somewhere at the nexus of film, television,
comics, and those old serials from forever ago. Maybe it s time that the nature of stardom changes,
what with the steady rise of nerd culture into the mainstream. After all, the geeks shall inherit the

Muscle Strength And Physical Function
II. Muscle strength
However lower limbs more relevant than upper limbs for estimation of gait and physical function,
handgrip strength has been used and well correlated with the most relevant outcomes. But there is
factors unrelated to muscle strength, e.g. motivation or cognition, may interfere the correct assessment
of muscle strength (Cruz Jentoft et al., 2010).
1) Handgrip strength
Isometric hand grip strength is well related with lower limbs muscle strength , knee extension torque
and calf cross sectional muscle area, decrease handgrip strength is a clinical marker of poor mobility
and a predictor of clinical outcomes than low muscle mass (Laurentani et al., 2003).
In practice, there is also relationship between baseline handgrip strength and disability for activities of
daily living (ADL). Handgrip strength is a good and simple measure of muscle strength, and it is well
correlated with leg strength (Fox et al., 2015)
2) knee flexion/extension
Strength can be measured either isometrically or isokinetically, the latter is closer reflection of muscle
function in daily activity. Isometric strength of maximum voluntary contractions can be measured with
simple custom made equipment. Modern, isokinetic dynamometers allow both isometric and
isokinetic measurements of strength. By concentric torque at different angular velocities (Hartmann et
al., 2009). This measurement is easy in frail older people (Callahan et al., 2007).

The Right And Choice Of Abortion
Yonathan D Nieto Villegas
Mr. Fons
English 2B
May 19, 2017
The Right to Life or Choice The decision to end the life of someone without their own consent has
caused great disruption among Americans. Before the civil rights movement, Americans idealized the
idea that abortion was ultimately prohibited due to the fact that religion predominated the beliefs of
the people. Now in a rapid changing liberal society, people are questioning if prohibiting a woman
from aborting is denying her inalienable right of freedom as listed under the First Amendment. The
right to abortion should be left in the hands of a woman s personal decision rather than being obligated
to live with the results of something she never wanted.
Abortion is the deliberate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The interpretation of this verse gives the proof that life begins even before the site of conception.
Therefore, the religions use this claim to enforce the fact that an abortion on whatever circumstance is
the killing of a human being. For instance, the Muslim faith has stated, Muslims regard abortion as
wrong and forbidden(BBC) . These views of the Muslim religion relate to the central idea that the
killing of a organism at any given time during the pregnancy is unethical and forbidden. In essence,
the idea of abortion has predominated as a wrongful sin according to religion and science. On the
other hand, there are people who suggest that the idea to be obligated to have a child is a form of
inhumanity in itself, as it robs the person of an unalienable right, the right to choose. In the tragic
testimony given by Lorna, she presents to the world her story on how live changing the ability to abort
can be. This testimony was presented by the National Abortion Federation. Lorna is a mother of three
with a number of health issues, including Lupus, a tumor on her upper intestines, and two uterine
abrasions. When Lorna found out she was pregnant, she knew immediately that carrying another
pregnancy to term was not an option for her. She had hemorrhaged while giving birth to

The Role Of Antisemitism In Early Modern Europe
Having considered anti Jewish sentiment in Early Modern Europe, it is reasonable to look at how Jews
were treated during the Enlightenment period in Germany and whether antisemitism was evident.
During this period, Jews did encounter individuals who demonstrated an acceptance of them. For
instance, Christian Wilhelm Von Dohm was a German scholar who determined that it was believed
that Jews acted in the way they did because of the circumstances they were put in. He further argued
that any other group of men, under such conditions, would be guilty of identical errors. Moreover, it is
because of these prejudices that prevent [a Jew] from becoming a good citizen. Therefore, it is
apparent that during this time period, some scholars tried

Quotes In The Book Holes
The adventurous novel Holes by Louis Sachar narrates the story of a boy named Stanley
Yelnats, he lives in a small house with his mom, dad, and his grandfather. During the novel there is a
part where the narrator explains how when he was walking home from school he a pair of shoes fall
out from nowhere, he picks them up and started walking and the police ran after him, the police
started accusing him that he stole them. Stanley family had always had bad luck thanks to his no good

The words „toughened‟ and „hardened‟ help the reader understand how he has changed since the

During Camp Green Lake, Stanley starts having some changes, one of the most noticeable ones in the
physical change that Stanley is able to determine during Camp. Stanley has changed physically during

Teaching Research Methods Within The Classroom
Abstract
Psychology undergraduates are required to study research methods within their course.
Psychology undergraduates are required to study research methods within their course. Within this are
many different statistical definitions which have been considered the most challenging aspect of the
curriculum.
An individual undergraduate psychology student took part in this study. The study aimed to increase
the accuracy and fluency of the recall of these definitions by applying an intervention phase of reading
through SAFMEDS cards aloud previous to recalling them in one minute. The SAFMEDS cards were
made up of key statistical concepts taken from a study guide which is core to the research methods
module. Results indicated that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is more of a requirement now as students are being given greater opportunities within their
course due to the new resources being put into psychology departments. Part of this means that
students are now able to conduct their own research within the third year of their degree, meaning they
need a deep level of understanding for statistics in order to accumulate adequate conclusions from
their results.
Precision teaching (PT) has proved to be an effective tool when aiming to teach students material
fluently and accurately. Lindsley (1990) showed that students in precision teaching classrooms who
were told to keep records of their own academic and non academic performance and use these records
to guide their performance and eventually lead to more academic success due to the visual
representation they had. This element of precision teaching is particularly useful as learners who
improve this way are susceptible to fluency based procedures which often consist of SAFMEDS or
packs of cards similar to this. SAFMEDS are typically used to help students become fluent in
definitions and basic concepts, in this experiment they are being used to improve a base of knowledge
on research methods within psychology.

Working for 1800 GOT JUNK? this summer was an awesome experience. I really believe that I found
the perfect internship for anyone who has never had one before. 1 800 GOT JUNK? Has never had an
intern until this summer. So both the company and I were fairly new to the intern and company
relationship. I think it worked out well the first person I met was the former vice president of
operations Michael fink. I met mike at the career fair that was held in the lane university center. He
told me they were looking for guys to do summer work and that they also had a mass communication
internship opportunity. A few weeks later I met with vice president of development Gregory frank.
Gregory is very upbeat guy who is seems passionate about growing the 1 800 GOT JUNK? Brand.
Before I became the intern he produced his own welcome video for the Washington D.C franchise. He
asked me if I could help in his mission to grow the brand and to keep wowing customers. I knew i was
up to the task. My first week of work was basic I learned how to make Welcome calls . A welcome
call is just a way to confirm that the client is aware that will be coming out to haul away their
miscellaneous items. During the welcome calls we also let customers know that our truck team
members will call them thirty minutes prior to their appointment window to reconfirm and they can
process payment on site with the truck team using either cash or credit card. During this first week of

Second Wave Feminism In The 1960s And 1970s
Second wave feminism in the 1960s and 1970s, in conjunction with other social movements, built a
foundation for much of the activist and intellectual work that followed. However, there was an
assumption of whiteness in the second wave feminist movement as well as a prominence of
heteronormativity, which blinded most of the populace to activist work done by women of color and
lesbians. For example, there was a whole strata of work in lesbian and gay scholarship which date
from the early 1970s which came out of the gay liberation movement. Lesbians (often in association
with Jewish women) led the way among white women in articulating a politic that accounted for white
women s position as both oppressed and oppressor. It can thus be appreciated ... Show more content

not easy to find. Women who had a desire to create such atmospheres were unable because they had

French Revolution Taxes
In the late 1780s France divided everyone into three social classes or estates. The first estate was the
clergy which was the highest, the second estate was the nobles, and the third estate was the
commoners, or the peasants. France was in a deep financial crisis. King Louis XIV had left France in
debt. The government began to barrow millions of dollars that went to paying the taxes. Food prices
started soaring because of bad harvests which brought hunger to many of the poor peasants. The
government had to increase taxes and reduce expenses to stop this financial crisis but the nobles and
the clergy tried to stop anything to not pay their taxes.
As France was in a huge financial crisis King Louis XIV brought all the clergy, nobles, and us the
commoners to vote by order on how we were going to split the taxes, this was called the meeting of
the estates general. The third estate became upset because we weren t all allowed to vote. This brought
the clergy to want an absolute monarch so they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the monarchy. Since this protest we have celebrated Bastille Day for our national independence

The Success of Groupon s Business Model
Groupon has been the primary source of bargaining leading individuals to try promotional offers at
restaurants, stores, and more. Their model works because shoppers are always looking for the best
deals to gain more value than they are willing or able to pay, enabling them to become a trusted guide
to local businesses. Their success now drives from the shift from searching and cutting for coupons to
the digital collection of coupons with a wide array of categories and search capabilities to narrow your
options that will best fit your preference. Other ventures such as LivingSocial, Amazon Local,
Sweetjack, DealChicken, Half Off Depot, Plum District, and TravelZoo have practiced the same
concept as Groupon but have not successfully executed or met the high levels of activity as Groupon.
Groupon has been triumphant in their practice as opposed to other similar ventures by offering more
deals with better discounts within the user s area than the other social media marketing sites and the
offers continue to expand worldwide. Groupon covers 185 cities while Living Social only acquires
140. According to DigitalBuzz 2011, the Inforgraphics portray Groupon to having 5 million
subscribers, 18 million Groupons sold in North America, $700 million saved in North America, a $30
average coupon price, with a 57% average Groupon discount. Joe Pulizzi claims an increase of
subscribers to 70 million. Similarly to online shopping, Groupon permits users to store deals in their

Arguments Against Nuclear Waste
Individually, they re no larger than your pinkie, but the energy packed pellets that are the radioactive
remains of nuclear power generation pose an enormous problem for nuclear energy plants that weren t
originally designed to store them. So far the 103 operating nuclear reactors in the United States have
generated an estimated 45,000 tons of waste that is expected to remain radioactive for more than
200,000 years (Onion, 2016). And right now, the waste, which emits radioactive particles that can eat
away at human tissue and organs, is being stored in tanks or concrete and steel bunkers at sites that
were only meant to contain the waste for perhaps decades, not centuries. Spent fuel is now stored in
pools and dry casks, says Rodney Ewing, a professor in nuclear engineering at the University of
Michigan. Today it s safe. But it s certainly not a long term solution (Ewing, 2015). ... Show more

Some argue the lack of a permanent, safe storage site for nuclear waste is reason enough to oppose
proposals in President Bush s energy plan to speed licensing of new nuclear power plants and extend
the operating licenses of existing plants. As Allison Macfarlane, a geologist and senior researcher at
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology says, Until we can figure out what to do with the waste, we
shouldn t make any more of it (Macfarlane, 2015). But those who tout the economic and
environmental benefits of nuclear energy argue a safe, permanent storage site has already been found
and only politics has prevented its opening. Others point to changing methods of nuclear power
generation that could ultimately reduce waste

Negative Effects Of Advertising In Advertising
Over $10.7 trillion were spent by American consumers in 2011 (mentalfloss.com). To put that into
perspective, with that amount of money, you could buy over thirteen trillion full size Hershey s bars,
almost 450 million family cars, or cover the incomes of almost 205 million US families
(kiplinger.com)! So, how exactly do companies get consumers to spend that much? Advertising! And
it s not simply showing consumers what products or services these companies have to offer. In many
cases, marketers lure consumers into buying from them by relying on common advertising traps.
The first common trap is to tug on the heartstrings of Americans. Companies frequently create
advertising that portrays people or animals dealing with difficult situations and asks the viewer for
money to improve their lives. A real world example of this type of advertising is the numerous
commercials produced by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or ASPCA.
Most of their ads focus on an abandoned animal that shows obvious signs of neglect in order to
encourage the viewer to empathize with the animal and donate money for their cause. Many people
end up donating when they see ads like this because they may feel guilty about not helping another
person or animal in need when they have the chance to do so or they may feel that their donations can
directly help end the other person s or animal s suffering.
The next ploy Americans fall for is the use of term free. Advertisers use the word free to create the
illusion that the consumer is getting a great deal in order to encourage them to buy something they
may not had wanted to buy in the first place. After all, who would not want something for free? But
usually in order to get something free, the consumer must first meet certain conditions. For example,
in order to qualify for free shipping on Amazon, you must spend a minimum of $25. Because the
shipping and handling fee is so high, many people who only had planned to buy one or two cheap
items end up shopping for additional items that they had not intended to buy just to get the free
shipping. So, in many cases they end up spending more money with the free shipping than if they just
bought the item they

The Accuracy Of The Film Red Tails
Some more accurate than others, they all concern the similar themes of a mission above others, a
personal conflict, and the character development to become iconic by the end of the film. For
example, in Red Tails, its accuracy can be somewhat, when concerning itself to the controversy of
black males in the American Air Force. Surprisingly, the directors of the movie did get the accuracy of
the aircraft they acquired throughout the duration of the movie. It pinpointed the racial tension
between troops, but also showed the desegregation that occurred after the two racial groups started
journeying in more missions. Its inaccuracy comes in the fact that not that many main characters die

Analysis Of The Movie The Gum Advertisement
The gum advertisement is an Extra Gum commercial that was recently uploaded and aired on
YouTube on October 7, 2015 (Richards). This particular commercial has been called the most
romantic and best tear jerker commercial to date (Stern). The commercial follows the romantic story
of Sarah and Juan. Their story begins with them first catching each other s eye, to the two falling in
love and becoming high school sweetheart s, and then continues to show their relationship progress as
it goes on for several years. During each monumental moment in their relationship, a piece of gum is
exchanged and focused on. A numerous number of appeals are present throughout the commercial.
Appeals that the creators of this gum commercial used include appeals to memory, consistency,
creativity, and love to successfully portray that love will survive any life change or challenge. The first
appeal that really makes a mark throughout this commercial is the appeal to memory and flashbacks.
The entire gum commercial focus on the memories written down on each gum wrapper by Juan. Every
time a memory is made by the couple, Juan draws the memory on the back of a gum wrapper and
saves it, without Sarah knowing he is doing this. With him keeping every gum wrapper, it leads to the
big emotional finale when he displays each framed gum wrapper on the walls in a private room for
Sarah before proposing to her. Before proposing to her, a series of flashbacks occur every time she
looks at all the gum

International And International Law And Policy
The International community: developments in International law and policy.
(Kirsti Samuels, 2007)
Civil war has become the dominant type of war in death tolls and severity. It has caused humanitarian
destruction on a vast scale, as well as serious disruption of regional and international peace and
security. The author Samuels states that her purpose of this work was that she has written this to
collate and analyse a broad range of international community practice with respect to civil conflicts
and coup d etat, and to investigate how this practice, which has changed in the past 15 years, is
shaping international law and policy. (Samuels, 2007). Since the end of the World War II, and
especially in the last decade, states, regional organizations, and the UN have become involved in
situations of civil conflicts and coups d etat. The international community has also formulated a series
of rationales for its actions, ranging from rejecting violence against civilians to rejecting the use of
force against domestic governments. The author states that for many years, such responses to civil
conflicts and coups took place in the cold war context, and they were largely governed by geopolitical
ideology and superpower motives rather than international policy or legal norms. This piece of work
will focus on the chapter called The nature and impact of the emerging norms . I chose this particular
chapter as it s the most relevant to what Samuel s is trying to address in her book.

In Unix® there are three sets of permissions that can be modified at the folder and file level; user,
group, and the world. In this illustration, user and group permissions will be discussed. To begin, a
command at the console must be executed to create the user group. The syntax is: groupadd [g gid [
o]] [ r] [ f] groupname. Simply typing in: groupadd group_name will suffice. Groupname is where you
put in the specific name of the group. If you don t specify additional parameters, the system will use
the defaults. Following the creation of the group, the users must be added into it. Execute this
command to add the existing users to the new group, Usermod G lt;newgroup gt; lt;user gt;. Since
there are 4990 user, a script would come in handy adding the users to the group. The VI editor is a
built in tool that allows the building of scripts. Now the real work begins, defining the permissions for
the file. From the console, navigate to the directory that contains the file that is to be shared. Type in

Internal Identity Conflicts In Lord Furnival, By Nathaniel...
Crispin s identity is something that he struggles with throughout the book. At the beginning of the
book, his name is Asta s son since he lives with his mother and never knew his father. He grew up
with no personal name and little dignity because he and his mother were so poor. Later, he becomes
the servant of Bear and finds out he is the son of Lord Furnival, the Lord of his small village and
various others throughout England. Simply because of the fact he is Lord Furnival s son, he is sought
to be silenced and killed. At the end of the book, he chooses to become what he wants to really be, a
free man who decides where his own path will take him. Crispin realizes that he ultimately decides
who he will serve while doing what action. The social restrictions that previously bind him are cut off
and he begins his new life. The picture with the question mark in the man s head represents the
internal identity conflict.
When John Aycliffe, the steward from Crispin s village, declares Crispin a wolf s head, it becomes
legal for anyone to kill Crispin. Whoever spots him, may kill him and reap a monetary award. Crispin
does not realize until the end of the book why he is to be killed. Much conflict of the book stems from
the escaping and dodging of men searching for Crispin. He always has the fear that he will be spotted
in one of the towns while he and Bear are performing. His fears become true when he is spotted in

Research Paper On Giotto
This is an artwork is by Giotto. Giotto was an artist that was very advance for his time. He grew up as
a shepherds boy in the outskirts of florence. There he worked on his paintings when an artist named
Cimabue saw his artwork and took him under his wing as an apprentice. Giotto s work is so important
because he was using a thing called perspective. Perspective was lost during the middle ages, but
Giotto reclaimed it. Though nobody used this method for a couple hundred years, if it weren t for
Giotto then it could have been much longer before art became more advanced. Florence, Italy had
other important features during the Renaissance besides Giotto s artwork. Florence was one of the five
very important city states in Italy. It was the capital of banking, thanks to the de Medici family. The de

The Arizona v. Fulminante Case
The center of a circle can never be located with only one line running through the shape. There must
be multiple lines, each one making it more clear where the center of the circle is. Analogously, the
murderer of a case can never be indicted with only one piece of evidence pointing at them. There must
be multiples indications, each one making it more clear who the murderer is. When Oreste Fulminante
confessed to the first degree murder of his stepdaughter, Jeneane Fulminante, the trial court used his
confession as evidence to sentence him to death. However, since his confession was coerced , the
Supreme Court decided to retry Fulminante s case without the use of the coerced confession as

The constitutional issue later appealed to the United States Supreme Court, where they discussed the
case s two separate issues, a voluntariness issue regarding a confession and a harmless error issue, as
stated by Mr. Jarrett during the trial at the United States Supreme Court ( Arizona v. Fulminante.
Oyez.org ). In Arizona v. Fulminante, the Supreme Court voted 5 to 4 to uphold the Arizona Supreme
Court s decision: Fulminante would receive a new trial and the confession would not be allowed; this
would be for future law reference. The Supreme Court, profoundly, ruled that a coerced confession
could not account as evidence against the person being tried ( Arizona v. Fulminante . Lawschool).
Arizona v. Fulminante was one of the few cases in law history with justices shifting from the majority
to the minority and vice versa. However, an advantageous vote of 5 to 4 at the Supreme Court settled
the majority and minority of the case. Highly qualified Chief Justice Rehnquist wrote for the majority,
The admission of an involuntary confession...is similar in both degree and kind to the erroneous

supply of evidence supporting the conviction of Fulminante, it would have incontrovertibly apparent
that he did murder his stepdaughter. Fulminante s method for murdering Jeneane involved excessive

The land has significant importance to Aboriginal peoples because it is more than just land to them; it
is the core of their spirituality and connection. In regards to land, they believe in preserving the
environment, rather than to build upon it and westernise. Aboriginal peoples identify and feel a sense
of belonging to their land with the evidence of rock engravings and artwork. They are people as much
as white people are, therefore, I have learned to spell it with a capital, be aware of the different groups
within Aboriginal peoples (Kaurna, etc.), and to say Aboriginal peoples rather than Aboriginal because
it sounds discriminative and segregated. I acknowledge Aboriginal peoples were the First Nation
peoples to settle in Australia; therefore, they have created the fundamental base of adaption for the
white peoples, such as digging sticks, rocks to carve with, and even the invention of the Didgeridoo.

Safety Culture Is The Common Beliefs And Ways
Culture is the common beliefs and ways of doing things shared between those who learned their ways
in the same environment. Safety culture is, however much of the same with a developed attitude
towards safety. Safety culture can be strong, where people within an organization report incidents that
occur or even when they had the opportunity to occur. On the other hand safety culture can also be
poor where incidents are hidden or swept under the carpet and no action can be taken to decrease the
possibility of it from happening again. Tools have been developed to assess the safety culture in many
different organizations, usually those that have a high risk. Rules and regulations are typically
implemented following incidents resulting in fatalities. Nuclear, medical and aviation are some of the
main industries that have begun assessing safety culture within their organizations and implementing
SMS systems to help distinguish situations that could have potentially caused an incident.
Over the years safety has been taken more and more seriously and the safety culture throughout many
organizations in general has been greatly improved upon. This has been mainly due to mishaps and
incidents in the past that have led to fatalities. Following these incidents have been regulations and
measures to ensure that the same thing is less likely to occur or possibly even impossible to occur
again. Since so many regulations are now in place incidents are few and far between, which is a good

Crete Battle Essay
What caused the battle?
The introduction of aircraft to the war gave countries the abilities to do things never thought possible.
Sending paratroopers to the ground from the sky, and high accuracy target bombing were only a
couple of things that the introduction of aircraft brought. However, in order to use these aircraft, a
place for takeoff and landing was a necessity. This is where the island of Crete, in Greece, had an
advantage. As Crete was the largest of the islands in the Mediterranean, it would be the perfect
location for raids into the Balkans and Southern Europe, along with being a base for tactical air
support in Greece and the Balkans. The harbor was also the largest in the Mediterranean, so it would
be ideal for Naval base operations. If Crete were to fall into the hands of the Germans, it could be used
for raids into Egypt and Palestine, used as a base in the eastern Mediterranean, used to prevent the

Although the hallucinations caused by the drug are short, the effect is almost instant. DMT is passing
through three barriers with the help of three different active transport mechanisms to be
compartmentalized and stored within the brain. With this process, high intracellular and vesicular
concentrations of DMT can be achieved within neurons. The outlined stages of uptake reveal that
considerable physiological effort is exerted for the accumulation and storage of DMT and suggest that
it has vital importance, since only a few compounds such as glucose and amino acids are known to be

Theme Of Selfishness In All My Sons
People Are Selfish According to The Washington Post, 70% of the American population is classified
as being selfish. ( Americans are patriotic, honest, lazy, and selfish, according to Americans: The
Washington Post ) Selfishness is displayed in the play All My Sons, as there is much conflict centered
around one family relating to the ideas of marriage, death, and lying. In this play, the author, Arthur
Miller, reveals that most people really do not care about others, by showing that they are indeed
selfish, so they can look better than other people. This is portrayed by the character Joe Keller. Joe s
selfishness is shown through how he blames others, and tries to cover up his mistakes, rather than
owning up to them. This interpretation is important because it makes the reader think of how they act,
and if they would be that 70% of the American population that is considered selfish. First, Miller
illustrates how Joe acts selfish by depicting how he blames others. In the contents of the play, Joe
tends to blame Steve, his previous business partner, for the majority of his problems. Throughout the
play Steve is in jail because Joe blamed him for manufacturing, and distributing all of the defective
plane parts that eventually lead to the death of twenty one innocent pilots. Miller shows that Joe was
indeed responsible for the manufacturing of the defective plane parts and let Steve face the
repercussions of those actions. When Joe refers to himself by stating, . . .

Example Of Social Facilitation
One of the oldest Social Psychology theories in the history of the field is Social Facilitation. Social
Facilitation is about how the presence of other people in the environment could affect our goal
directed behavior. The term Facilitation refers to the early observations that an individual s
performance is enhanced because of external factors such as the presence of other people. Social
Facilitation is a phenomenology that causes the behavior of an individual to change in the presence of
other people. Guerin (1993) stated that Social Facilitation exists when in the presence of other people,
an animal s behavior increases or decreases its level of arousal however does not interact with it.
Hence, an individual s performance on a task causes either a positive or negative effect. This can be
seen in many situations such as when one feels uneasy and uncomfortable in front of a many people
and performs worse than usual or when one dances better than others opposed to when dancing alone.
In an even handed context, it is the idea that an individual s performance is being facilitated in the
presence of another individual (Travis, 1925). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

behavior in a non social environment and inconsistency of human behavior in a social environment.

what responses an individual can provide during this occurrence (Guerin, 1993). The theory of Social

Persuasive Essay About Hunting Dog
Choosing a Dog That Fits Your Lifestyle
By Ron M. Ayalon
Sep 6, 2013
Other than serious behavioral problems, such as aggression, the reason most dogs wind up in shelters
is because their owners find out that they have just chosen the wrong dog for the way they live. Dogs
have evolved with humans over the course of thousands, maybe tens of thousands of years, and as
they shared our homes and lives, they have been bred to fill specific roles.
Besides the innate personality of the breed, there is also the dog s adult size to take into consideration.
That fluffy little St. Bernard puppy that fits so well on your lap now could grow into a 200 pound
giant in over a year. If your house or apartment is simply not big enough, at some point your dog is
going to outgrow its living space.

as Labrador or Golden retrievers or one of the spaniels, such as English or Cocker Spaniels. A laid

breeds also are a good choice for hunters. Remember that these breeds will still need plenty of
exercise outside of hunting season so be sure to take them for walks or runs daily.
Many people are worried about home security and will use a dog to guard the home. In one respect,
nearly every dog breed is a guard dog, but some breeds are more protective than others. When you
looking for a guard dog, you should look for a breed that will be easy to train, passive with the family,

Fast Fashion On The Fashion Industry
The popularity of cheap and fashionable clothing has been on the rise since the introduction of fast
fashion to major clothing companies. The fashion world has become one of the dominating parts of
consumer culture. However, the affordable clothing movement, in addition to the fast paced garment
work, has affected more than just our wallets. Advancement of new practices and clothing availability

Although fast fashion is a modern concept, the garment industry is one of the oldest and largest
sources of export in many countries. It contains a vast number of workers, and in many developing
countries, the clothing industry is the single largest employer of citizens. Employed women and men
work to produce the variety of clothing sold in countries such as America. Despite the substantial
employment in factories, many garment workers are often informally employed and home based thus

field must work based on uncertain and rushed production and receive little pay, benefits or vacation.
In countries such as Bangkok, garment employees earn on average daily about 845 baht (approx. US )
for a seven hour day (WIEGO). Practices such as low wages and unstable conditions lead to a
disposable way of employing workers, and most factories or employers ignore demands for pay raises

A dolphin s normal cruising speed is about 23 to 25 mph, and if they are bow riding, they have been
known to get up to 30mph. Because dolphins are mammals (warm blooded) their internal temperature
is between 97.9o to 99of. They normally come to the surface to breathe about every two minutes. Each
breath consists of a short, almost explosive exhalation, followed by a slightly longer inhalation.
Dolphins can hold their breath for up to several minutes and are capable of rapid and deep dives of

extracted from parts of the head and used to lubricated delicate watch mechanisms. Since cheaper oils

dolphins, however, become accidentally trapped and drowned in tuna nets. Between the years 1959

When looking at big brands and companies, such as fast food industries, one can think of a couple of
favorite go to places. Places like these have strong marketing strategies to get customers to keep
coming back for more and become favorable to the public. It is in the hands of public relations to
handle a company s brand image to get people hooked to a business s products and to keep a positive
relationship with its consumers. On the other hand, it is also the duty of public relations to handle the
company s image when it is ruined or in a crisis. One example of a company that has a great brand

I can t seem. To find myself again. My walls are closing in. (Linkin Park, Crawling ). These lyrics just
show to prove how much emotion was displayed into the song itself. With that said, censorship
sabotages an artist s intent to express themselves. Not only does it limit one s ability to put forth one s
feelings into his or her songs, but it also affects the artist s creativity.
Second of all, music should not be censored because it reduces an artist s capability to be creative. A
musician uses certain lyrics for a reason. Every lyric has some sort of meaning. Whether it be to
rhyme with a subsequent phrase, or going with the flow. Regardless of its purpose, it still has value.
However, creativity is not only limited to the lyrics in a song. Creativity can also be express through
rhythm and tone. The downside, one can only have so much creativity than resides in the tone of a
song. In the song, Never Take Away My Freedom it says, Can take everything I own. You can have
and sing my song. You can never take away my freedom (David Guetta). This means that he could be
stripped of everything that he owns. But his freedom can never be taken away by anyone. This holds
true about music as well. Artists have the ability to create any kind of music they wish. Lyrics help
surpass that limitation of creativity. An artist s lyrics cannot and should not be contained by the power
of the government. It takes time and dedication to create music. Musicians carefully

sold them to earn some cash out of them in order to buy a bicycle. His job was to put up posters
around town and this was his chance of bringing his family up from the poverty line. One day, while
he was glueing up posters around town someone stole his bicycle from him. He tried to catch up to the
man who stole his bicycle however he was in town which was very busy. There were too many people

Canada s Human Development Index
Canada is viewed internationally as one of the best nations to live in. Canada was recognized in the
Human Development Index report created by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
in July 2014 for being in the top 10 countries internationally. According to the UNDP, the Human
Development Index is a summary measure of average achievement in key dimensions of human
development: a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable and have a decent standard of living
(UNDP, 2014) . Furthermore, in regards to human rights, the Human Right Watch asserts that Canada
...[has] a global reputation as a defender of human rights at home and abroad [with] a solid record on
core civil and political right protections and a generally progressives approach to economic and social
rights ( HRW, 2015) . With this internationally recognized status, many flock to Canada seeking
refuge due to being victims of human right abuses in their home countries or apply to immigrate to
Canada for the better standard of socio economic conditions then what they experienced in their home
countries. Ironically, while many seek a path into Canada for a better life, the aboriginal population
suffers at the hands of the Canadian government.
The mistreatment of the Aboriginal population in Canada can historically be dated back to when the
first ship arrived during the colonial expansion of the British empire. As Canada grew its nation and
population, the maltreatment of aboriginals grew with it. For over a

Beloved Husband Vs Beloved Husband
For item number 7, as I searched for picture of gravestones online, I noticed that it s more common for
gravestones to have Beloved wife of... , rather than Beloved husband of... . I think that is phrase goes
back to the idea of traditional marriage and the roles females took in the relationship. For a very long
time, females were described as in being in the shadows of the husband or being dependent on them. I
think that Beloved wife of... demonstrates that that person did have a husband, and someone to care
for. Even after death, it demonstrates her loyalty to her partner. For males, I actually noticed that some
commonly said, Beloved husband, and father , and not necessarily address a wife s name. The last few
times that I have visited

I Read Is Hatchet Book Report
Hatchet Book Report The book I read is Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. It is about a thirteen year old boy
named Brian. This story takes place in the Canadian wilderness without a specified time. I think this
book is both interesting and helpful because of its contents.
To summarize the story, Brain was the sole passenger on the tiny Cessna 406 bush plane. He was
flying from the U.S. to Canada to spend summer break with his father after his parents divorced. The
pilot has a heart attack and the plane ends up crashing in a lake after Brain controlling it for a few
hours. Brain survived. He is now alone in the wilderness. Al he has there are himself and a hatchet that
his mom has given him.
This book contains a few major characters and a few ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He kept telling himself There, keep it that way. Short thoughts. (44) he did that in order to organize his
thoughts and not freak out. I admire that part about him because there won t be someone always there
to help you. Sometimes you are the one who has to comfort yourself.
Brain went through so much alone in the wilderness. He had faced wild animals such as a bear, a
skunk, and foxes. He knew how to deal with them for the most part. When the foxes were near him, he
knew to keep calm, not move, and wait until they leave. When the bear entered his home, he scared it
with fire so it won t come back. The skunk had attacked him without a warning but Brian knew how to
deal with the aftermath. He ran to the lake, took off his clothes, and jumped in. If it wasn t for this
story, I wouldn t have know how to act when there is a dangerous animal in me, how to build a home,
or catch fish and food.
His first attempt to get food was search for fruit. He walked around keeping the lake in his sight so he
won t get lost. That was a smart move because I would have wandered around forgetting about the
lake. He wanted to stay by the lake not only for the water but because when people come to rescue
him, they will notice him by the water rather than between trees. Which, again, I would have never
thought about.
I also learned how to make fire, home, and catch fish thanks to him. When making a fire, he needed
fuel, so he got bark. He also needed oxygen, so he was

Lyrd Skynyrd s Song Freebird

in 1973, and much to the record label s surprise, Freebird, was a hit, along with the bands first album
Leh nerd Skin nerd a title chosen because the band members knew the public would struggle to
pronounce the name of the band. Lynyrd Skynyrd has a ritual of using this song as a closing for each

brother Jonny took his place as lead singer in the band, he was unable to sing along to the song at
concerts, so the band would play and the crowd ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The intriguing thing about this poem is it s use of the imagery of a bird, the first line is the audience
being addressed as little bird something that could easily be a childhood nickname, Fly away little bird
/ Fly away to a better place / Where you will soar through the sky / In the wide open space This is a
simple verse of the author imploring the little bird to fly freely, nothing different until paired with the
second verse Fly away to live out all your hopes and dreams / Enter the real world / Of wondrous
things / Through the dark clouds and over the rainbows Using the mirroring words of hopes and
dreams and dark clouds and over the rainbows creates the thoughts of highs and loves and everything
in between, a common happening in the real world , which is usually used in regards of a child
growing up and becoming up and creating a life for themselves. This is defined even more in the next
three lines; Fly away to destinations unknown / Fly away to discover yourself / And embrace what you
find these lines emphasise the thought of growing up and moving on in life, but the use of embrace
encourages the little bird to not be afraid of change or transforming themselves, instead to welcome
the difference and

Reza Shah s Abolition Of The Pahlavi Dynasty In Iran
At the turn of 1925, Reza Shah began the Pahlavi dynasty in Iran. He is mostly known for his attempts
in modernizing Iran on the basis of the West. With this in mind, Reza Shah showed some of the
biggest reform movements throughout Iranian society. One reform, such as greater access to higher
education for women at Tehran University, show significant gains compared to previous years in Iran.
One of the biggest points of controversy in the course of Reza Shah s rule was the abolition of the
chador and the enforcement of unveiling. The chador is a traditional staple of women s clothing in
Iranian culture that only shows the face from the brow line, and drapes over the body from head to toe
like a veil. Under the circumstances, unveiling did not

The Principal Difference Between Rbd And Dynamic...
The principal idea of this theory is the capacity of the companies to adapt, reconfigure as such, as
reintegrate internal and external skills, competencies and resources in reaction to the changes in a

the ability to sustain a competitive advantage in a business market that change constantly as well

  • 3. Summary Of The Essay Not Rants Essays, Not Rants! 218: A Response There s a recent New York Times article I came across that laments how the rise of the superhero genre has conflated actor stardom with character stardom. The article itself doesn t really chase down the points too well, but the central gist (as far as I can see) is that in the recent slate of films, characters have come to trump actors. As Wesley Morris suggests in the article, when you watch Oceans Eleven, it s George Clooney doing all the cool stuff as Danny Ocean; but when you watch Rush, you don t see Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt, you see Thor as James Hunt. And as more big name actors get roped in to superhero films (Cate Blanchett s gonna be in Thor: Ragnarok!), it s more actors being roped in to playing a specific character. Which makes Morris point of view seem a little weird. He implies that the fun of Ocean s Eleven is seeing the star studded cast play off of each other, whereas Civil War is more about watching the characters interact; the former being better. Which begs the question of whether or not you re supposed to forget that it s an actor playing a character and not something happening before you. Now, the attitude here feels a lot like that kid who s angry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In any case, based on the title, is about the changing role of celebrity that the uptick of superhero film franchises have brought about. Which, alright, sure; but we ve also changed from the studio system of the 50s. Marvel with the MCU (and, Fox with X Men and DC with their attempts at catchup) are working on a new form of storytelling, one that sits somewhere at the nexus of film, television, comics, and those old serials from forever ago. Maybe it s time that the nature of stardom changes, what with the steady rise of nerd culture into the mainstream. After all, the geeks shall inherit the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Muscle Strength And Physical Function II. Muscle strength However lower limbs more relevant than upper limbs for estimation of gait and physical function, handgrip strength has been used and well correlated with the most relevant outcomes. But there is factors unrelated to muscle strength, e.g. motivation or cognition, may interfere the correct assessment of muscle strength (Cruz Jentoft et al., 2010). 1) Handgrip strength Isometric hand grip strength is well related with lower limbs muscle strength , knee extension torque and calf cross sectional muscle area, decrease handgrip strength is a clinical marker of poor mobility and a predictor of clinical outcomes than low muscle mass (Laurentani et al., 2003). In practice, there is also relationship between baseline handgrip strength and disability for activities of daily living (ADL). Handgrip strength is a good and simple measure of muscle strength, and it is well correlated with leg strength (Fox et al., 2015) 2) knee flexion/extension Strength can be measured either isometrically or isokinetically, the latter is closer reflection of muscle function in daily activity. Isometric strength of maximum voluntary contractions can be measured with simple custom made equipment. Modern, isokinetic dynamometers allow both isometric and isokinetic measurements of strength. By concentric torque at different angular velocities (Hartmann et al., 2009). This measurement is easy in frail older people (Callahan et al., 2007). 3) Peak expiratory flow In people without any ... • 5. The Right And Choice Of Abortion Yonathan D Nieto Villegas Mr. Fons English 2B May 19, 2017 The Right to Life or Choice The decision to end the life of someone without their own consent has caused great disruption among Americans. Before the civil rights movement, Americans idealized the idea that abortion was ultimately prohibited due to the fact that religion predominated the beliefs of the people. Now in a rapid changing liberal society, people are questioning if prohibiting a woman from aborting is denying her inalienable right of freedom as listed under the First Amendment. The right to abortion should be left in the hands of a woman s personal decision rather than being obligated to live with the results of something she never wanted. Abortion is the deliberate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The interpretation of this verse gives the proof that life begins even before the site of conception. Therefore, the religions use this claim to enforce the fact that an abortion on whatever circumstance is the killing of a human being. For instance, the Muslim faith has stated, Muslims regard abortion as wrong and forbidden(BBC) . These views of the Muslim religion relate to the central idea that the killing of a organism at any given time during the pregnancy is unethical and forbidden. In essence, the idea of abortion has predominated as a wrongful sin according to religion and science. On the other hand, there are people who suggest that the idea to be obligated to have a child is a form of inhumanity in itself, as it robs the person of an unalienable right, the right to choose. In the tragic testimony given by Lorna, she presents to the world her story on how live changing the ability to abort can be. This testimony was presented by the National Abortion Federation. Lorna is a mother of three with a number of health issues, including Lupus, a tumor on her upper intestines, and two uterine abrasions. The Role Of Antisemitism In Early Modern Europe Having considered anti Jewish sentiment in Early Modern Europe, it is reasonable to look at how Jews were treated during the Enlightenment period in Germany and whether antisemitism was evident. During this period, Jews did encounter individuals who demonstrated an acceptance of them. For instance, Christian Wilhelm Von Dohm was a German scholar who determined that it was believed that Jews acted in the way they did because of the circumstances they were put in. He further argued that any other group of men, under such conditions, would be guilty of identical errors. Psychology undergraduates are required to study research methods within their course. Within this are many different statistical definitions which have been considered the most challenging aspect of the curriculum. An individual undergraduate psychology student took part in this study. The study aimed to increase the accuracy and fluency of the recall of these definitions by applying an intervention phase of reading through SAFMEDS cards aloud previous to recalling them in one minute. Part of this means that students are now able to conduct their own research within the third year of their degree, meaning they need a deep level of understanding for statistics in order to accumulate adequate conclusions from their results. Precision teaching (PT) has proved to be an effective tool when aiming to teach students material fluently and accurately. Lindsley (1990) showed that students in precision teaching classrooms who were told to keep records of their own academic and non academic performance and use these records to guide their performance and eventually lead to more academic success due to the visual representation they had. This element of precision teaching is particularly useful as learners who improve this way are susceptible to fluency based procedures which often consist of SAFMEDS or packs of cards similar to this. Second Wave Feminism In The 1960s And 1970s Second wave feminism in the 1960s and 1970s, in conjunction with other social movements, built a foundation for much of the activist and intellectual work that followed. However, there was an assumption of whiteness in the second wave feminist movement as well as a prominence of heteronormativity, which blinded most of the populace to activist work done by women of color and lesbians. For example, there was a whole strata of work in lesbian and gay scholarship which date from the early 1970s which came out of the gay liberation movement. King Louis XIV had left France in debt. The government began to barrow millions of dollars that went to paying the taxes. Food prices started soaring because of bad harvests which brought hunger to many of the poor peasants. As France was in a huge financial crisis King Louis XIV brought all the clergy, nobles, and us the commoners to vote by order on how we were going to split the taxes, this was called the meeting of the estates general. Arguments Against Nuclear Waste Individually, they re no larger than your pinkie, but the energy packed pellets that are the radioactive remains of nuclear power generation pose an enormous problem for nuclear energy plants that weren t originally designed to store them. So far the 103 operating nuclear reactors in the United States have generated an estimated 45,000 tons of waste that is expected to remain radioactive for more than 200,000 years (Onion, 2016). And right now, the waste, which emits radioactive particles that can eat away at human tissue and organs, is being stored in tanks or concrete and steel bunkers at sites that were only meant to contain the waste for perhaps decades, not centuries. • 16. Negative Effects Of Advertising In Advertising Over $10.7 trillion were spent by American consumers in 2011 (mentalfloss.com). To put that into perspective, with that amount of money, you could buy over thirteen trillion full size Hershey s bars, almost 450 million family cars, or cover the incomes of almost 205 million US families (kiplinger.com)! So, how exactly do companies get consumers to spend that much? Advertising! And it s not simply showing consumers what products or services these companies have to offer. In many cases, marketers lure consumers into buying from them by relying on common advertising traps. The first common trap is to tug on the heartstrings of Americans. Companies frequently create advertising that portrays people or animals dealing with difficult situations and asks the viewer for money to improve their lives. A real world example of this type of advertising is the numerous commercials produced by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or ASPCA. Most of their ads focus on an abandoned animal that shows obvious signs of neglect in order to encourage the viewer to empathize with the animal and donate money for their cause. Many people end up donating when they see ads like this because they may feel guilty about not helping another person or animal in need when they have the chance to do so or they may feel that their donations can directly help end the other person s or animal s suffering. The next ploy Americans fall for is the use of term free. Advertisers use the word free to create the illusion that the consumer is getting a great deal in order to encourage them to buy something they may not had wanted to buy in the first place. After all, who would not want something for free? But usually in order to get something free, the consumer must first meet certain conditions. For example, in order to qualify for free shipping on Amazon, you must spend a minimum of $25. Because the shipping and handling fee is so high, many people who only had planned to buy one or two cheap items end up shopping for additional items that they had not intended to buy just to get the free shipping. So, in many cases they end up spending more money with the free shipping than if they just bought the item they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their story begins with them first catching each other s eye, to the two falling in love and becoming high school sweetheart s, and then continues to show their relationship progress as it goes on for several years. During each monumental moment in their relationship, a piece of gum is exchanged and focused on. A numerous number of appeals are present throughout the commercial. Appeals that the creators of this gum commercial used include appeals to memory, consistency, creativity, and love to successfully portray that love will survive any life change or challenge. The first appeal that really makes a mark throughout this commercial is the appeal to memory and flashbacks. The entire gum commercial focus on the memories written down on each gum wrapper by Juan. Every time a memory is made by the couple, Juan draws the memory on the back of a gum wrapper and saves it, without Sarah knowing he is doing this. With him keeping every gum wrapper, it leads to the big emotional finale when he displays each framed gum wrapper on the walls in a private room for Sarah before proposing to her. Before proposing to her, a series of flashbacks occur every time she looks at all the gum ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Kirsti Samuels, 2007) Civil war has become the dominant type of war in death tolls and severity. It has caused humanitarian destruction on a vast scale, as well as serious disruption of regional and international peace and security. The author Samuels states that her purpose of this work was that she has written this to collate and analyse a broad range of international community practice with respect to civil conflicts and coup d etat, and to investigate how this practice, which has changed in the past 15 years, is shaping international law and policy. (Samuels, 2007). Since the end of the World War II, and especially in the last decade, states, regional organizations, and the UN have become involved in situations of civil conflicts and coups d etat. The international community has also formulated a series of rationales for its actions, ranging from rejecting violence against civilians to rejecting the use of force against domestic governments. The author states that for many years, such responses to civil conflicts and coups took place in the cold war context, and they were largely governed by geopolitical ideology and superpower motives rather than international policy or legal norms. This piece of work will focus on the chapter called The nature and impact of the emerging norms . In the late 1960s, closer to 1970, a couple programmers at Bell Laboratories wrote an assembler to interface with a DEC PDP 7. • 21. Internal Identity Conflicts In Lord Furnival, By Nathaniel... Crispin s identity is something that he struggles with throughout the book. At the beginning of the book, his name is Asta s son since he lives with his mother and never knew his father. He grew up with no personal name and little dignity because he and his mother were so poor. Later, he becomes the servant of Bear and finds out he is the son of Lord Furnival, the Lord of his small village and various others throughout England. Simply because of the fact he is Lord Furnival s son, he is sought to be silenced and killed. At the end of the book, he chooses to become what he wants to really be, a free man who decides where his own path will take him. Crispin realizes that he ultimately decides who he will serve while doing what action. The social restrictions that previously bind him are cut off and he begins his new life. The picture with the question mark in the man s head represents the internal identity conflict. When John Aycliffe, the steward from Crispin s village, declares Crispin a wolf s head, it becomes legal for anyone to kill Crispin. Whoever spots him, may kill him and reap a monetary award. Crispin does not realize until the end of the book why he is to be killed. Much conflict of the book stems from the escaping and dodging of men searching for Crispin. Because dolphins are mammals (warm blooded) their internal temperature is between 97.9o to 99of. They normally come to the surface to breathe about every two minutes. Each breath consists of a short, almost explosive exhalation, followed by a slightly longer inhalation. Dolphins can hold their breath for up to several minutes and are capable of rapid and deep dives of more then 1,000 ft. Dolphins once were hunted commercially, for the small quantity of valuable oil extracted from parts of the head and used to lubricated delicate watch mechanisms. Since cheaper oils have now been found from other sources, dolphins are no longer hunted for this reason. Many dolphins, however, become accidentally trapped and drowned in tuna nets. Between the years 1959 and 1972 an estimated 4.8 million dolphins died this way (www.thedolphinplace.com/facts.html). • 39. International Journal Of Strategic Communication When looking at big brands and companies, such as fast food industries, one can think of a couple of favorite go to places. Places like these have strong marketing strategies to get customers to keep coming back for more and become favorable to the public. It is in the hands of public relations to handle a company s brand image to get people hooked to a business s products and to keep a positive relationship with its consumers. On the other hand, it is also the duty of public relations to handle the company s image when it is ruined or in a crisis. One example of a company that has a great brand image, but also dealt with a crisis is Chipotle and it s E. coli crisis. If it wasn t for Chipotle s powerful public image and integrity towards its customers when in crisis, the business would ve shut down completely. In this scenario, the power of public relations was Chipotle s hero. In the scholarly journal, International Journal of Strategic Communication, a particular article called, Communicating Corporate Social Responsibility and Brand Sincerity: A Case Study of Chipotle Mexican Grill s Food with Integrity Program by Matthew W. Ragas and Marilyn S. Roberts and the trade article, Chipotle, Edelman Split amid E. coli Crisis both portray the power of public relations within the brand, Chipotle in good and bad times. • 40. Censorship And Censorship Of Music Throughout the years, music has evolved and transformed in many ways. However, there are restrictions in today s music, otherwise known as, censorships. A crisis has emerged concerning the issue of censorship. This argument consists of two possible stances: one, supporting the continuation of censorship, and two, eliminating the status quo of censorships in the music industry. There have been countless debates and arguments regarding the issues of censorship ever since the U.S. Congress passed the Radio Act in 1927 (The History). The time has arrived for censorship to be brought to an end. I can t seem. To find myself again. My walls are closing in. (Linkin Park, Crawling ). These lyrics just show to prove how much emotion was displayed into the song itself. With that said, censorship sabotages an artist s intent to express themselves. Not only does it limit one s ability to put forth one s feelings into his or her songs, but it also affects the artist s creativity. Second of all, music should not be censored because it reduces an artist s capability to be creative. A musician uses certain lyrics for a reason. Every lyric has some sort of meaning. Whether it be to rhyme with a subsequent phrase, or going with the flow. Regardless of its purpose, it still has value. However, creativity is not only limited to the lyrics in a song. Creativity can also be express through rhythm and tone. The downside, one can only have so much creativity than resides in the tone of a song. In the song, Never Take Away My Freedom it says, Can take everything I own. You can have and sing my song. You can never take away my freedom (David Guetta). This means that he could be stripped of everything that he owns. But his freedom can never be taken away by anyone. This holds true about music as well. Artists have the ability to create any kind of music they wish. Lyrics help surpass that limitation of creativity. This story takes place in the Canadian wilderness without a specified time. I think this book is both interesting and helpful because of its contents. To summarize the story, Brain was the sole passenger on the tiny Cessna 406 bush plane. He was flying from the U.S. to Canada to spend summer break with his father after his parents divorced. The pilot has a heart attack and the plane ends up crashing in a lake after Brain controlling it for a few hours. Brain survived. He is now alone in the wilderness. He kept telling himself There, keep it that way. Short thoughts. (44) he did that in order to organize his thoughts and not freak out. I admire that part about him because there won t be someone always there to help you. Sometimes you are the one who has to comfort yourself. Brain went through so much alone in the wilderness. He had faced wild animals such as a bear, a skunk, and foxes. He knew how to deal with them for the most part. When the foxes were near him, he knew to keep calm, not move, and wait until they leave. When the bear entered his home, he scared it with fire so it won t come back. The skunk had attacked him without a warning but Brian knew how to deal with the aftermath. He ran to the lake, took off his clothes, and jumped in. If it wasn t for this story, I wouldn t have know how to act when there is a dangerous animal in me, how to build a home, or catch fish and food. His first attempt to get food was search for fruit. He walked around keeping the lake in his sight so he won t get lost. That was a smart move because I would have wandered around forgetting about the lake. He wanted to stay by the lake not only for the water but because when people come to rescue him, they will notice him by the water rather than between trees. Which, again, I would have never thought about. I also learned how to make fire, home, and catch fish thanks to him. When making a fire, he needed fuel, so he got bark.
