The Handmaid Monologue
The sounds that ran through my mind when I think of the dreadful day when I saw my mom take a hit
from the crack pipe. I thought, why God, how could you let this be. Why did you forsake me? This
drug that took my mother and turned her life to dark whole and left her children to fin for themselves
at times. I took it upon myself to hide the drug when she was sleep. She was upset but when it came
time for another fix she upset when I told her what I done. I explain to her that she was destroying her
body. Although this is based off my life many of you today are experiencing the same thing It is
known that people are going to do what they want to do it is up to us to show and tell them their
purpose in life, tell them they are worth the fight.

Darkrealm Research Paper
In the beginning when darkness ruled the universe hideous daemons reined the planet for several
millennia till the light caused the daemons to vanish, which lead to believe they were destroyed. The
daemons waited for the day of Armageddon, when they would once again reign over the four corners
of the earth. Atmospheric disturbances caused by the super earthquakes created Dimension Gateways

and realms.
They encircled the globe, establishing Legion Command Posts to organize their slaughter campaigns.

Defiance a Film Directed by Edward Zwick
Defiance is a 2008 American docudrama film starring Daniel Craig and directed by Edward Zwick.
The plot takes place in Western Europe has Tuvia Bielski and his brothers lead a Jewish partisan group
against Nazi forces in the struggle for their lives. The group saved more than 1200 Jews from Nazi
persecution and would be one of the most successful Jewish resistance groups during WW2. The
movie is well done involving multiple elements and a high dose of action and adrenaline. Defiance
generally did well in theatres and was well approved by critics; and WELL displays some of the
events of the Holocaust.

They spent no less than two years under the shelter of the forests of Poland; Tuvia, the eldest often
sent scouts to infiltrate and recruit new members of the group from the nearby ghettos to the Naliboki
forest. The group s policy of accepting all would inflate the mass of the group to over 1200 Jews but
only a small amount (about 150) of the group would engage in armed combat and operation has most
of the population was woman, children, and seniors (70%).They lived in underground bunkers and
established basic infrastructure and utility building; kitchen, mill, bathhouse, bakery, medical clinic,
quarantine for those with infectious illness/disease and small livestock of cows provided milk.
Members of the group had useful trade skills in making goods, repairs, and providing logistical
support; this service was also extended to the nearby Soviet partisans. They were well known among
partisans for their workshop of 125 workers which included; tailors, shoemakers, metalworkers,
tanners, carpenters, leatherworkers, hat makers, barbers, watch makers completed daily repairs, new
products, and other useful services for the group and guests. Most children attended the dugout school.
Bielski partisans would often target Nazis and their combatants including disloyal local police forces
and performed sabotage missions which made them a nuisance to the Nazi government (which offered
100 000 bounty for the capture of Tuvia in 1943). To solve this issue the Nazis

How Does Emily Bronte Use Symbols In Wuthering Heights
Emily Bronte includes a variety of themes in Wuthering Heights that are prominently strengthened by
the use of symbolic figures. A specific theme that sticks with the reader is the theme of love, and a
symbol that strengthens this theme is the ghost of Catherine that appears a few times in this novel.
Love drives the plot in this story and is the reason that everything unfolds the way that it does. The
reader can observe how love affects each of our characters in a different way. Love can cause the
characters to become envious, naïve, insane, or even misguided. Heathcliff is a great example to show
the negative side effects of love. He never received closure from his love for Catherine, which in
result drove him mad and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Catherine s ghost is a metaphor that symbolizes Heathcliff s lack of closure and his overbearing guilt
that was put on him when Catherine died. Catherine Earnshaw, may you not rest as long as I am
living. You said I killed you haunt me then. The murdered do haunt their murderers... . This quote
reinforces the idea that the hauntings of Catherine symbolize how Heathcliff has been affected by her
death. Emily Bronte added Catherine s ghost into the story as a way to get this idea across to the
reader. Authors add symbols like this all the time as an easier way for the reader to understand a
certain concept that an author is trying to get across. However, if the ghost of Catherine is just a
symbol to display Heathcliff s lack of closure and intense guilt, why did Emily Bronte show Catherine
haunting Lockwood as well. This may be Bronte showing how Heathcliff s guilt and lack of closure is
affecting other people in a negative way. In the dream that Lockwood had there were a few pieces of
disturbing visual imagery depicting pain. Bronte wrote this in to show the immense pain these
characters are going through and using Catherine to symbolize this is extremely strategic. An author
always has a reason for putting every single minor detail into a story, so it makes sense that Bronte put
Catherine in this story as a symbol, not to be an actual

Search Theory, Linear And Random Walk Moving Target On The...
Abstract. This paper presents the cooperation between two searchers at the origin to seek for a random
walk moving target on the line. Any information of the target position is not available to the searchers
all the time. Rather than finding the conditions that make the expected value of the first meeting time
between one of the searchers and the target is finite, we show the existence of the optimal search
strategy which minimizes this first meeting time. The effectiveness of this model is illustrated using
numerical example.

the first meeting time between one of the searchers and the target is finite. Furthermore, they showed
the existence of the optimal search plan that minimizes the expected value of the first meeting time
and found it. More recently, El Hadidy [16] considered a search problem for a d dimensional
Brownian target that moves randomly on d space. He found the conditions that make the expected
value of the first meeting time between one of the searchers and the target is finite. In addition, he
showed the existence of the optimal search plan that minimizes the expected value of this first meeting

One of the famous search methods, is the coordinated linear search method which consider two unit

Wall Street Has Been Performing Criminal Acts Ever Since
Wall Street has been performing criminal acts ever since its inception, and many of these schemes
have become infamous public events. Scandals have included fraud, blackmail, and even outright
stealing of money. These schemes have involved different techniques over Wall Street s history, many
of which fundamentally changed how the world deals in finance and regulates the economy. What
most do not realize is that when someone commits fraud for billions of dollars, millions of people
around the world are affected due to having invested in false promises. These scandals have also had a
major effect on the American people, and it is important for people to know about Wall Street s darker

But Duer s information was unpredictable at best, and began to lose money rapidly, even taking out
money from the treasury in order to cover his losses. Once the public realized Duer s investments
were fake, a public panic ensued which caused the first ever financial panic in America. After
inflation, over 50 million dollars were lost which, while today may not seem a lot, one has to realize
that the United States had only a fraction of its population and land that it does today. Duer set the
stage for Wall Street scandals to come, and they would only get bigger as the years went by.
The next big scandal came in the mid 1800s, at which point Wall Street had already become the most
important financial institution in the Western world, and men such as Daniel Drew had become one of
the richest men on the planet. But Daniel Drew s success did not come legally. The technique Drew
used was what is today known as a pump and dump scheme, where a large portion of a company s
stock is bought before publicly decrying the company ( Pump and Dump, n.d.). Negative publicity for
the company would cause the stock s price to tumble, and Drew was able to sell short the stock for
massive returns. Selling short is when an investment is made with an expectation that the price will go
down, and where profit is only feasible in extreme cases where a stock fails ( Selling Short, n.d.). The
return on these investments caused Drew to be one of the richest men on Wall Street until Drew went

Benefits Of Helicopter Parenting
For most kids, moving to college is the first time they will be out of their parents house for a long
period of time. This opens them up to a lot of new experiences. Ideally, they should be ready to face
the new challenges living out of the house will bring. In some cases, the child will have an extremely
difficult time learning how to take care of themselves. The parents of the child play a huge role in
whether or not their child is ready for this step. When raising the child, they made the decision to
either let their child learn things on their own, or help them with every single task the child is
presented with. This has been a growing issue as time moves on. As helicopter parenting becomes
more common, it causes this reaction as stated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is when most parents would expect their children to become dependent and handle situations
alone, but this is not always the case. Washington Post writer, Amy Joyce, wrote How Helicopter
Parents are Ruining College Students , to explain mostly to parents why they need to let their child
handle problems in college on their own. Joyce explains that some parents even call the college
president when their child has some sort of issue going on. It is very common for a grown child to text
their parents to solve problems for them. This is becoming a growing concern as today s college
students are more attached to their parents. There are many people who believe that letting children
fail benefits them later in life. TV news reporter turned stay at home mom, Janie Porter, would like to
persuade others to not protect children from any consequences in life. Porter writes the article, Dear
Parents, Stop Rescuing Your Kids From Failure , to share how she raises her family and how it is

Peru s Human Development Index Essay
During the majority of the nineteenth century, Peru had consistently struggled with a turbulent
political history, especially regarding its stability. The incapability of institutions to solidify, which
contributes the the lack of political stability, occurred from quick successions of government and
constant reforms within the political structure (Weeks, 2015). But regardless of Peru s record of
political instability, steps have been taken in the recent years to consolidate its democracy and reach
for economic policies that are market friendly.
Although Peru is a developing country, it has a high human development index that has been
strengthening over the years. According to the Human Development Reports from the United Nations
Development Programme, Peru s Human Development Index (HDI) ranking has increased from
approximately .6 in 1990 to .734 in 2014, and has retained this ranking the following year (UNDP,
2015). Peru is also rated at 2.5 out of 7 in freedom (Freedom House, 2015). As for human security,
Peru has a homicide rate of 9.6 per 100,000 people, which is nearly double the homicide rate of the
United States (UNDP, 2015). According to the same 2014 reports, Peru s ranking under the
Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) is set as .043, meaning that 10.4% of the population falls
under multidimensional poverty, and 2.1% live under severe multidimensional poverty (UNDP, 2015).

What Are Respirators Are Common Today And Household Settings
Respirators are defined by Merriam Webster as, a device worn over the mouth and nose to protect the
respiratory tract by filtering out dangerous substances (as dusts or fumes) from inhaled air (Merriam
Webster). The use of respirators are common today in both industrial and household settings. The
earliest known idea for a respirator can be traced to Pliny the Elder over 1900 years ago. He suggested
the use of wearing animal bladders to protect Roman mine workers from inhaling red oxide of lead
(OSHA). In 1854, John Stenhouse developed a respirator using powdered charcoal (see Figure 1) that
could be used for protection from gas. Stenhouse s respirator led to the use of activated charcoal,
which is still used today (OSHA). There ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Wet laid process
The wet laid process is a modified version of a process that is used to create paper. There are various
methods that can be utilized based on the needs of the finished product, production, demand, etc. The
particular wet laid process that was utilized in this experiment yielded a mat that was approximately
12 x12 with varying thickness, based on the mass of material used. One mat could be produced
approximately every hour, with an additional two hours needed for the drying of each mat. The
material is mixed with a dispersal agent, flocculating agent, and a resin. The process involved the
mixing of the chemicals, along with the material. The resulting mixture is then added to the suction
box and filled with more water. A vacuum is then pulled by opening a valve below the suction box,
resulting in a mat of the material on the mesh bottom of the suction box.
This project was a continuation of prior research conducted by Meghan Moore. She investigated how
the efficiency of using activated carbon fiber compared to traditional filtering face piece respirators for
nanoparticle aerosols. The particular activated carbon fibers used in this study were two nonwoven
activated carbon fiber felts, with a surface area of 1,000m2/g and 1,500m2/g, and two woven activated
carbon fibers

An infant who is breastfed receives added health benefits compared to a child who is formula fed. In
the first few days after birth, the breast milk is comprised of protein, vitamins A and E, and antibodies
which help protect the infant from infection. After the first few days, the mature breast milk contains
fats and cholesterol, which are essential for the growth and development of the infant s nervous
system, eyes, and brain. It also contains micronutrients calcium and magnesium, which are beneficial
to the infant s growth (Thompson et al., 2010). Because of all the healthy components to breast milk,
there is significant research showing that children who are breastfed have reduction in diseases,
healthier bodies and mouths, and long term health benefits as well.
Research has shown that one of the greatest benefits is a reduction in Type 1 and 2 diabetes. It has
been shown that children than develop diabetes have had little or no consumption of human milk. It
has also been revealed that children who were fed cereal before four months of age are at a greater risk
of developing Type 1 diabetes. Infants who are exclusively breastfed also show a reduction in Chron s
disease, ulcerative colitis, Hodgkin s, leukemia, and some childhood lymphomas as lifelong
conditions. Because human milk allows for longer maturing of the infant s stomach, there are fewer
incidences of asthma and allergies (Ryan, 2012).

An Essay On The Colosseum
The Colosseum is one of the finest examples of ancient Roman architecture. The Colosseum was
commissioned around A.D. 70 72 by Emperor Vespasian of the Flavian dynasty as a gift to the Roman
people (History.com). The Colosseum entertained the Roman people, both plebeians and patricians,
for over one thousand years. The Colosseum used multiple examples of ancient architecture
techniques, entertained a variety of events, and attracts many tourists and visitors today.
The Colosseum used multiple examples of ancient architecture techniques. The first floor carried
Doric columns, the second Ionic and the third level Corinthian ( Colosseum ). Each type of column
uses a distinctive type of crowning that separates it from the other columns. Doric columns are the
simplest of the three columns. Doric columns can be identified by their capitals at the top of the
column.
The second floor of the Colosseum used Ionic columns. Ionic columns are easily recognized by their
decorative scrolls at the top of the column. Ionic columns were often used in ancient architecture, but
they are also commonly used today. The Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. utilizes Ionic
columns.

Leadership Theory And Organizational Culture
Abstract
The role of leadership has evolved over the years. Early leadership theories focused on the
characteristics of the leader and have shifted to focus on the leader s behavior, skills and style.
Emerging leadership theories continued to shift focus to team leadership and subordinate motivation.
Organizational culture is exists in all organizations and influences the work environment. Researchers
have studied leadership and organizational culture individually; however there have been less focus on
gaining an understanding of the relationship leadership and organizational culture.
In this paper, I will explore various leadership theories and relationship with organization culture. I
will also reflect on the type of leadership style that promotes a positive organizational culture.
Introduction
Leaders set the tone for the organization while Organizational culture sets the values that influence the
work environment. There needs to be some clarity on whether leadership influences organizational
culture or does organizational culture influence leadership. In order to understand the relationship
between leadership and organizational culture, we must first define them.
Leadership defined
Leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common
goal. (Northouse, 2013). Leadership involves establishing clear visions, communicating the vision to
followers, and developing strategies to achieve those goals. Leaders are

Essays On Siddhartha
Daniel Gutierrez Honors English 4 Mr. Rodriguez 08/30/17 Siddhartha That was how everyone loved
Siddhartha. He delighted and made everybody happy. But Siddhartha was not happy. (Page 6) This is
a great example of perception vs. reality as everyone makes it seem that one person might be happy,
but inside they can be at the complete opposite state. This causes him to have the desire for more
wisdom than what he has been taught. He wanted to find out what was really important and wanted to
feel no emotion in regards to what people think of him. What is concentration? What is the ability to
leave one s body? What is fasting? What is retention of breath? It is a flight from the self, it is a brief
escape from the torment of being I , it is a brief numbing of the mind to counter pain and the
senselessness of life. (Page 9) Siddhartha is saying. that the practices of the samana are just a way of
leaving life and its problems temporarily by making their bodies undergo these hardships. They
eventually become numb with the pain and by doing so, the samana are able to leave their worries of
the real world temporarily. Yes, he thought breather deeply, I will no longer try to escape from
Siddhartha. I will learn from myself, be my own pupil; I will learn from myself the secret of
Siddhartha. (Page 32) Here Siddhartha is demonstrating that he is the only one that matters when it
comes to thoughts of who he is, and only his opinion of himself matters. Acceptance and the ability to
look into himself will lead to that road of happiness. Also, to be minimalistic as to if there is nothing
to be needed then it is not. This is something many people should take into consideration as to stay
away from being materialistic. He looked around him as if seeing the world for the first time. The
world was beautiful, strange, and mysterious. (page 39) Siddhartha Govinda left to join the Samanas
to set themselves free for enlightenment. The Samanas put out the idea that you must eliminate the
self so one can achieve spiritual fulfillment one day. Now he, too, felt belatedly for once in his life that
strongest and strangest of passions; he suffered from it, suffered pitifully, and yet he was blessed, and

How Religious Figures Are Depicted
How Religious Figures are Depicted in Films
Religion often plays an important role in Hollywood films, but do Hollywood films play an important
role in religion? Perhaps the better question is, Does film play an important role in the way people
understand religious concepts?
Although the best reasons for going to the movies are to be entertained and eat popcorn, understanding
a film is actually quite complex. Movies are not only a reflection of life, they also have the capability
of shaping our norms, values, attitudes, and perception of life. Through the media of film, one can find
stories of practically anything imaginable and some things unimaginable. Movie makers use their art
to entertain, to promote political agendas, to educate, and to present life as it is, was, or could be. They
can present truth, truth as they interpret it, or simply ignore truth altogether. A movie can be a work of
fiction, non fiction, or anything in between. A film is an artist s interpretation. What one takes away
from a film depends upon how one interprets what has been seen and heard. Understanding film is
indeed difficult.
Understanding religion is also complex. In American society, Christianity is the largest religion;
however, there are vast differences among Christians, as to what one is to believe and how one s
beliefs are to be put into practice. It s the mixture of beliefs and practices of other religions and the
absence of any religious belief. America is indeed a melting pot when

Who Invented The Longbow
The bow is one of oldest weapons that can launch a projectile at great distances accurately. In
prehistoric times, the bow was used for hunting and war. Beth L. Habeishi and Staphanie Mallory in

According to Evelyn Tribble in Where are the archers in Shakespeare, archery is a complex skill that
has the properties of physiological, neurological, social, technological, economic, and material forces
all of which must be considered in an ecological model of skill (para 1). Tribble also suggests that
anthropologists use the phrase cultural transmission to analyze how cultures engage in making
knowledge (para 1). It pretty much means how their skills and knowledge had been passed down
through each cultures generation lines. The physical well being of the archer made the historiography
of the longbow in war amazing. An expertly made bow meshed with the trained physical and mental
intelligence of the bowman has a devastating effects and are very lethal. It was considered a very
effective weapon of its time until firearms were invented, but now it is just as effective as a hunting

longbow is determined primarily by the strength and skill of the bowman. To win in competitions and

Jacksonian Democracy
Topic: Jacksonian Democrats viewed themselves as the guardians of the United States Constitution,
political democracy, individual liberty, and equality of economic opportunity.
In light of the following documents and your knowledge of the 1820 s and 1830 s, to what extent do
you agree with the Jacksonians view of themselves?
Andrew Jackson began a whole new era in American history. Amongst his greatest accomplishments
were evoking the common man to be interested in government and tailoring democracy to satisfy the
same common man s needs. Of course, Jackson could not go about making such radical changes
without supporters, but that never surfaced as a problem. Jacksonian Democrats, as they came to be
called, were great in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Jacksonians arose from these issues and others, as is evidenced in writings of the time, such as
The Working Men s Declaration of Independence by George Henry Evans. They began to call the
public s attention to an oppression by the upper class through many different issues of the time, which
was looked down upon by some, such as Daniel Webster in response to Jackson s bank veto. This
dealt with the Bank War which was the primary economic dealing of the time in which President
Jackson vetoed the recharter of the Bank of the United States. He did so because he found the bank
unconstitutional and thought that it was a near monopoly that only benefited the rich. This stirred
public support and brought the class issue to the forefront for many people. Although some looked
upon Jackson s decision on the Bank as a bad one, the Jacksonians supported him because they saw it
as an attempt to support equality and eliminate a monopoly in the hands of the elite rich. Another such
instance that dealt with monopoly and equality of economic opportunity was the Charles River Bridge
v. Warren Bridge case in 1837. In it, Chief Justice Taney ruled that new enterprises could not be
confined by the implied privileges of old charters, in an effort to allow for competition and free
enterprise. Political democracy was one of the resurfacing interests during the Jacksonian Era.
Jacksonian Democrats saw it as their duty to protect the government run

What Is The Main Point Of The Return Of Martin Guerre
The Return of Martin Guerre by Natalie Davis a return that some may say focuses a little too much on
the touch of the and skewers into a romance and that would be the perspective of Robert Finlay.
Although Finlay does bring up some very key and valid points about The Return of Martin Guerre but
I do feel that Davis over all in both of her argument best describes what would happen. Starters Davis
is right in saying that Bertrande knew that the 1st Martin that arrived was not her husband. When she
saw him she, however she recoiled in surprise. Not until he had spoken to her affectionately,
reminding her of things they had done in and talked about, specifically mentioning the white hosen in

Well obviously Bertrande and Arnaud du Tilh had intercourse since they conceived a child. Even that
proverb is not uniquely pertinent, for, in the conditions of sexual intercourse in peasant households of
preindustrial Europe the couple clothed, in the darkened house, amid the cold and dirt, surrounded by
livestock and relatives any wife of Artigat might equally well have regarded her bedmate with the
jaded perspective expressed in the notorious masculine slur, De nuit tous chats son gris. (Robert
Finlay pg559) I have a difficult time with some of this because if this where all to be true which I m
sure he is exaggerating a little bit I bet a donkey wasn t sharing the bet with them. I do bet they
probably had dirt floors and it probably was a little cold but that doesn t exclude her from knowing
that he was not her husband because every person is different granted she hasn t been with her real
husband in a very long time but I m pretty sure she would know the touch of a man. I am for sure
going to have to agree with Davis on this you get older but your connection as husband and wife
doesn t change that s what I think Davis is really trying to point out in the book is that as husband and

Comparison Essay On My Truck
My car and my truck are complete opposites of each other on paper, but there are some similarities
they share. The truck is a blue 1974 Chevy C10, and the car is a red 1998 Chevy Cavalier. In my
opinion my car is safer, but the truck is cooler. I will be contrasting the body styles, the safety features,
and the technical differences. I will also be comparing the basic features. First of all, the body styles
are completely different. Well, the truck has a blue body with a body on frame type of construction. It
also has a two piece body, the cab and the bed. The car has a small, red, stream line body designed for
aerodynamics. It has a uni body design, meaning the body and the frame is one thing. body on frame
means that the body sits on the frame and is removable. Secondly, the safety features on the car are
vastly superior to the ones on the truck. The car has breaking points all over its body, so that in a
wreck it will be damaged worse to soften the impact. The truck just has a rigid steel body designed to
stay intact, while that s better for repairs, it s not better for injuries. My car also has airbags, anti lock

Then there are a few interlude shots of Peter Falk, before the montage, which is a maelstrom of
quickly paced short shots. The short, confusing shots serve to disorient the viewer and put them in the
same headspace as Cassiel, who is grieving, as well as to create symbolic meaning. In between the
handheld shots that progress through the city, there are shots of people that are vulnerable or hurt.
There is a shot of a woman lying on a staircase, a shot of a man on a bench, possibly an index pointing
at him being homeless, a fighting couple, a child crying for his mother, and footage that seems to be
from during the war, intercutting with shots of a bird s wings. Bird s wings are symbolically
associated with angels, and these shots intercut with shots of war and destruction, linking the two
together, the angel is the powerless witness of the war. The viewer understands the shots in the
montage to be from the angel s point of view; he is the one who sees all that pain and carries the
burden of comfort. Jump cuts are used as well throughout the montage, for example in the shot of the
women in the staircase, further increasing the sense of frantic confusion, and an example of poetic
rather than practical language, as the information is not delivered in a straightforward

Paradiso On Extra Sensory Perception
After analyzing the text from Looking Glass House and the article by Paradiso and Dublon titled Extra
Sensory Perception provided by the stimulus packet, I was inspired to look into the effects of violent
video games on adolescents by asking the question, Do violent video games contribute to youth
violence? The advancing technology making virtual scenarios more lifelike that was mentioned in
Extra Sensory Perception combined with Alice s active imagination in Looking Glass House made me
question how impactful the use of violent video games might be on an adolescent s mind. The impact
of violent video games is becoming a more common debate because, over the past few years, the sale
of video games has skyrocketed and therefore, so many teenagers and children are being exposed to
the content of these games. The advancements in technology have further enhanced the appeal of
video games. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

draws more attention the violent content within the games and the effects of this violence. Some
psychologists, pediatricians, and parents are concerned that the violence in video games influences
youth to commit violent crimes or to act aggressively. When looking at the issue from a psychological,
a cultural/social, and a criminal perspective, it can be concluded that violent video games contribute to

3.1 Network Architecture :
Network architecture is the configuration of an interchanges system. It is a structure for the
determination of a system s physical parts and their practical association and setup, its operational
standards and systems, and information organizations utilized as a part of its operation. Network
Architecture gives the subtle element outline of a system. It is utilized to arrange all the system layers
regulated in sensible structure by portraying each one stage in subtle element. It is likewise dependent
upon the complete working meanings of the conventions. The structural engineering is emphasized in
a circulated processing environment and its unpredictability can t be comprehended without a
structure. Subsequently there is a need to create provisions or systems to design a diagram of a system.
The first use of the expression software architecture planning put it particularly in the arranging period
of a task. While these arrangements had connection to physical items, the term finished not. At the
point when a system of associated gadgets, for example, phones and PCs, was arranged out, the
outcome was a system building design schematic. The real plans were for the most part extremely
fundamental; they might be all the more a rule than else other possibilities. In time, the system
construction modeling schematic started to hold extra material identifying with the system. Particular
physical articles were allocated positions dependent upon the

Essay on Narrative Therapy
Abstract
This paper will look at the logic of narrative therapy by focusing on 5 major points. This paper will
begin by discussing how the narrative approach defines and perceives problems. It will address how
narrative therapy views the nature of the relationship between the client and the professional. This
paper will look at how problems are solved using the narrative approach. It will also focus on three
main techniques used in narrative therapy, which will include externalization, deconstruction and re
authoring. This paper will also include a short narrative critique of the medical model. The Logic of
Narrative Therapy Narrative therapy is considered postmodern due to the fact that it uses a story
telling approach to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Kelley (1996) this process is recommended by narrative therapists because it allows the
client to begin to see where the discourse emerged from. The therapist must first just listen to the story
and determine what the client sees as the existing problem (Kelley, 1996). Then the therapist begins to
ask questions with the intention of bringing forth the full meaning of the problem (Kelley, 1996). In
deconstruction the therapist searches for answers as to who all is involved with the problem, what past
events lead up to the problem development, how the problem changed over time, how the client has
been fighting the problem thus far and how the problem is affecting the client s life (Kelley, 1996).
Kelley (1996) reported that after the therapist has a full understanding of the problem the
deconstruction phase moves on to its second stage. The therapist and the client begin working together
to break down the prevailing story in order to map the influence the problem is having on the client s
life (Kelley, 1996). Mapping the effect of the problem is particularly important because it lays the
foundation of the new story line (Monk, Winslade, Crocket Epston, 1997). According to Monk,
Winslade, Crocket Epston (1997) typically when the effect of the problem is discussed with the client
they begin to feel as if their story has been heard. They

An Evaluation Of An Investment Management Process
The Weebly website defines investment as a commitment of funds made in the expectations of some
positive rate of return otherwise emphasizing that expectation of returns in an essential element of an
investment (imsmo.weebly.com). Basically, any business investment strategy comprises of a number
of facets with some additional assistance from professional fund managers, settlement, dealing and the
preparation of reports for clients (imsmo.weebly.com). Investment strategies are broadly divided into
two main categories: real investments and financial investments. Levisaukaite (2010) categorizes real
investments as investments that generally involve some kind of tangible assets such as machinery or
land. On the other hand, financial investments often involve contracts stipulated in paper or presented
in some electronic form such as stocks or bonds. Any investment strategy demands the formulation of
an investment management process. An investment management process stipulates how an investor
should go about in making his/her decisions. The process involves a five step procedure in which the
stages include: Setting an investment policy An analysis and evaluation of investment vehicles The
formation of a diversified investment portfolio Portfolio revision The measurement and evaluation of

The History Of The Aloha State
The Aloha State became the 50th state in 1959, but the history of Hawaii goes back centuries earlier.
Roughly 1,500 years ago, Polynesians from the Marquesas Islands first set foot on Hawaii Island.
With only the stars to guide them, they miraculously sailed over 2000 miles in canoes to migrate to the
Islands. 500 years later, settlers from Tahiti arrived, bringing their beliefs in gods and demi gods and
instituting a strict social hierarchy based on a kapu (taboo) system. Hawaiian culture flourished over
the centuries, giving rise to the art of the hula and the sport of surfing, but land division conflicts
between ruling chieftains were common. In 1778, Captain James Cook, landed on Kauai at Waimea
Bay. Naming the archipelago the Sandwich

Adam Corolla Usc Lecture Essay
Adam Carolla Lecture Paper
One of the basic tenets of life is that greater opportunities will appear to individuals that actively
pursue and know how to recognize them. Since the majority of us do not have the luxury of being
born into wealth or power, the choices that we make ultimately shape our successes in life. Adam
Carolla begins by using examples to highlight the concepts of consistency and residual income. He
explains that it is easier and more useful to understand how to sell something and continue selling it
again and again as opposed to figuring out how to simply make a large amount of money. As a student
that had performed poorly in high school, he worked a variety of jobs including carpet cleaner and
boxing trainer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conversely, Adam Carolla cites an example of negative reinforcement being used as a form of
motivation. He refers to his time working as a carpet cleaner out of high school and the pain he felt
from working a horrible job with people he did not like. Carolla explains that by being miserable at a
bad job, he learned he did not want to continue working at a career that he did not enjoy. Using pain as
a motivating factor, this realization forced Adam to forge a better career path for himself. Another
important aspect of creating opportunities revolves around the concept of doing a job well regardless
of whether you enjoy it or not. In reality, the dream job is not typically the first job, the second job, or
even the third. However, this does not count as an excuse for not performing to the highest capacity at
any level of work. Adam expands, saying that it is crucial to get in the habit of doing things well and
not judge a job because you it feel it might be below you. Doing a job properly and to the fullest
ability demonstrates attention to the detail and is a key indicator of overall job performance to
employers. Experience and knowledge are also key elements that an individual can use to take
advantage of opportunities. In order to obtain chance for advancement, it is imperative to commit the
time to understand all the aspects of a job and acquire the knowledge necessary for when the
opportunity does come. In

Social Causes Of Youth Homelessness
On this essay, I am going to write about youth homelessness the causes of this phenomenon in this
country, and why it remains an issue very complex to resolve. There are a number of causes for youth
homelessness but we can divide them into two big groups: Causes derived from social policies such as
lack of funding or cuts to housing benefit; and causes derived from personal circumstances, for
example, a family breakdown.
Both renting and owing a home are challenging options for young people for many reasons including
lack of skills and money; that in some occasions translate not having somewhere to stay. On the social
causes for homelessness we find that one of the biggest issues is the shortage of housing, the
parliament estimates the need for additional housing in England at between 232,000 to 300,000 new
units per year, a level not reached since the late 1970s and two to three times current supply. Even
though this does not only affect young people in my opinion young people are one of the most
disadvantaged because the lack of supply makes housing very expensive and under 25 s get paid less
minimum wage so they can t afford to pay a house deposit. Another important social policy cause is
that since April 2017 young people aged 16 21(with some exemptions) will not be entitled to apply for
housing benefit a move made by the government to prevent young people slipping into a life of
benefits (HM treasury 2015). However, this new policy in my point of view just makes the

A Case Against Evolution Of Public Schools
A Case Against Evolution in Public Schools
Evolution is the most popular theory currently taught in public high schools, and is widely accepted as
a sound scientific concept to teach. However, it is equally true that many disagree with evolution and
many of its concepts as an explanation of the origin of life on our planet, and it is thus my opinion that
evolution should not even be taught in public science classes, as it is not scientifically sound, nor
should be a part of a wide variety of concepts taught to students that that should also include
intelligent design, creationism, or any other number of theories that have just as much of validity as
evolution.
Here, we will discuss why evolution as a scientific theory is flawed, and that ... Show more content on

New standards pointed out about that discrepancies in a molecular evidence has challenged the
evolutionary theory of common ancestry of all living things and that whether microevolution can be
extrapolated to explain macro evolutionary changes is controversial .(LeBeau, 2007)
In the 1900s, once disappointed by the courts, anti evolutionists moved onto intelligent design
.Basically, this concept considers the existence of what is termed irreducible complexity in nature,
which can only be attributed to an intelligent designer. (Clemmitt, 2005)
Intelligent design promotes idea that life is so complex could have only been created by an intelligent
being (Clemmitt, 2005)
Intelligent design supporters have believed that a low key approach is in order to be more successful
,rather than simply asking educational institutions to require that intelligent design be taught. Instead,
they ask only that schools teach the controversy surrounding evolution, arguing that broadening the
discussion will foster critical thought. (Clemmitt, 2005)
Intelligent Design advocates claim that their ideas constitute a true scientific originality. It seems that
one thing preventing Intelligent Design from qualifying as science is that it potentially explains too
much .Supporters of Intelligent Design completely disagree that theology should be rethought to
accommodate science. (Clemmitt, 2005)

  • 6. How Does Emily Bronte Use Symbols In Wuthering Heights Emily Bronte includes a variety of themes in Wuthering Heights that are prominently strengthened by the use of symbolic figures. A specific theme that sticks with the reader is the theme of love, and a symbol that strengthens this theme is the ghost of Catherine that appears a few times in this novel. Love drives the plot in this story and is the reason that everything unfolds the way that it does. The reader can observe how love affects each of our characters in a different way. Love can cause the characters to become envious, naïve, insane, or even misguided. Heathcliff is a great example to show the negative side effects of love. He never received closure from his love for Catherine, which in result drove him mad and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Catherine s ghost is a metaphor that symbolizes Heathcliff s lack of closure and his overbearing guilt that was put on him when Catherine died. Catherine Earnshaw, may you not rest as long as I am living. You said I killed you haunt me then. The murdered do haunt their murderers... . This quote reinforces the idea that the hauntings of Catherine symbolize how Heathcliff has been affected by her death. Emily Bronte added Catherine s ghost into the story as a way to get this idea across to the reader. Authors add symbols like this all the time as an easier way for the reader to understand a certain concept that an author is trying to get across. However, if the ghost of Catherine is just a symbol to display Heathcliff s lack of closure and intense guilt, why did Emily Bronte show Catherine haunting Lockwood as well. This may be Bronte showing how Heathcliff s guilt and lack of closure is affecting other people in a negative way. In the dream that Lockwood had there were a few pieces of disturbing visual imagery depicting pain. Bronte wrote this in to show the immense pain these characters are going through and using Catherine to symbolize this is extremely strategic. An author always has a reason for putting every single minor detail into a story, so it makes sense that Bronte put Catherine in this story as a symbol, not to be an actual ... This paper presents the cooperation between two searchers at the origin to seek for a random walk moving target on the line. Any information of the target position is not available to the searchers all the time. Rather than finding the conditions that make the expected value of the first meeting time between one of the searchers and the target is finite, we show the existence of the optimal search strategy which minimizes this first meeting time. The effectiveness of this model is illustrated using numerical example. Mathematics Subject Classification: 37A50, 60K30, 90B40. Recently, Mohamed et al. [15] studied this problem when the target moves on one of n intersected real lines in which any information of the target position is not available to the searchers all the time. Mohamed et al. formulate a search model and find the conditions under which the expected value of the first meeting time between one of the searchers and the target is finite. Furthermore, they showed the existence of the optimal search plan that minimizes the expected value of the first meeting time and found it. More recently, El Hadidy [16] considered a search problem for a d dimensional Brownian target that moves randomly on d space. He found the conditions that make the expected value of the first meeting time between one of the searchers and the target is finite. In addition, he showed the existence of the optimal search plan that minimizes the expected value of this first meeting time. A comprehensive discussion of many aspects of search problem is found in El Hadidy et al. [18 30]. Finding a Random walk moving target inside a cylinder has numerous applications in physics. Scandals have included fraud, blackmail, and even outright stealing of money. These schemes have involved different techniques over Wall Street s history, many of which fundamentally changed how the world deals in finance and regulates the economy. What most do not realize is that when someone commits fraud for billions of dollars, millions of people around the world are affected due to having invested in false promises. These scandals have also had a major effect on the American people, and it is important for people to know about Wall Street s darker hours. Wall Street began in 1792, which was very early ... Once the public realized Duer s investments were fake, a public panic ensued which caused the first ever financial panic in America. After inflation, over 50 million dollars were lost which, while today may not seem a lot, one has to realize that the United States had only a fraction of its population and land that it does today. Duer set the stage for Wall Street scandals to come, and they would only get bigger as the years went by. The next big scandal came in the mid 1800s, at which point Wall Street had already become the most important financial institution in the Western world, and men such as Daniel Drew had become one of the richest men on the planet. But Daniel Drew s success did not come legally. The technique Drew used was what is today known as a pump and dump scheme, where a large portion of a company s stock is bought before publicly decrying the company ( Pump and Dump, n.d.). Negative publicity for the company would cause the stock s price to tumble, and Drew was able to sell short the stock for massive returns. Selling short is when an investment is made with an expectation that the price will go down, and where profit is only feasible in extreme cases where a stock fails ( Selling Short, n.d.). This opens them up to a lot of new experiences. Ideally, they should be ready to face the new challenges living out of the house will bring. In some cases, the child will have an extremely difficult time learning how to take care of themselves. The parents of the child play a huge role in whether or not their child is ready for this step. When raising the child, they made the decision to either let their child learn things on their own, or help them with every single task the child is presented with. This is when most parents would expect their children to become dependent and handle situations alone, but this is not always the case. Washington Post writer, Amy Joyce, wrote How Helicopter Parents are Ruining College Students , to explain mostly to parents why they need to let their child handle problems in college on their own. Joyce explains that some parents even call the college president when their child has some sort of issue going on. It is very common for a grown child to text their parents to solve problems for them. This is becoming a growing concern as today s college students are more attached to their parents. There are many people who believe that letting children fail benefits them later in life. TV news reporter turned stay at home mom, Janie Porter, would like to persuade others to not protect children from any consequences in life. Porter writes the article, Dear Parents, Stop Rescuing Your Kids From Failure , to share how she raises her family and how it is working for her. • 11. Peru s Human Development Index Essay During the majority of the nineteenth century, Peru had consistently struggled with a turbulent political history, especially regarding its stability. The incapability of institutions to solidify, which contributes the the lack of political stability, occurred from quick successions of government and constant reforms within the political structure (Weeks, 2015). But regardless of Peru s record of political instability, steps have been taken in the recent years to consolidate its democracy and reach for economic policies that are market friendly. Although Peru is a developing country, it has a high human development index that has been strengthening over the years. According to the Human Development Reports from the United Nations Development Programme, Peru s Human Development Index (HDI) ranking has increased from approximately .6 in 1990 to .734 in 2014, and has retained this ranking the following year (UNDP, 2015). Peru is also rated at 2.5 out of 7 in freedom (Freedom House, 2015). As for human security, Peru has a homicide rate of 9.6 per 100,000 people, which is nearly double the homicide rate of the United States (UNDP, 2015). According to the same 2014 reports, Peru s ranking under the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) is set as .043, meaning that 10.4% of the population falls under multidimensional poverty, and 2.1% live under severe multidimensional poverty (UNDP, 2015). What Are Respirators Are Common Today And Household Settings Respirators are defined by Merriam Webster as, a device worn over the mouth and nose to protect the respiratory tract by filtering out dangerous substances (as dusts or fumes) from inhaled air (Merriam Webster). The use of respirators are common today in both industrial and household settings. The earliest known idea for a respirator can be traced to Pliny the Elder over 1900 years ago. He suggested the use of wearing animal bladders to protect Roman mine workers from inhaling red oxide of lead (OSHA). In 1854, John Stenhouse developed a respirator using powdered charcoal (see Figure 1) that could be used for protection from gas. There are 5 markings required (see figure 2) by NIOSH for approved particulate filtering face piece respirators (NIOSH, 2014); Wet laid process The wet laid process is a modified version of a process that is used to create paper. There are various methods that can be utilized based on the needs of the finished product, production, demand, etc. The particular wet laid process that was utilized in this experiment yielded a mat that was approximately 12 x12 with varying thickness, based on the mass of material used. One mat could be produced approximately every hour, with an additional two hours needed for the drying of each mat. The material is mixed with a dispersal agent, flocculating agent, and a resin. An infant who is breastfed receives added health benefits compared to a child who is formula fed. In the first few days after birth, the breast milk is comprised of protein, vitamins A and E, and antibodies which help protect the infant from infection. After the first few days, the mature breast milk contains fats and cholesterol, which are essential for the growth and development of the infant s nervous system, eyes, and brain. It also contains micronutrients calcium and magnesium, which are beneficial to the infant s growth (Thompson et al., 2010). Because of all the healthy components to breast milk, there is significant research showing that children who are breastfed have reduction in diseases, healthier bodies and mouths, and long term health benefits as well. Research has shown that one of the greatest benefits is a reduction in Type 1 and 2 diabetes. It has been shown that children than develop diabetes have had little or no consumption of human milk. It has also been revealed that children who were fed cereal before four months of age are at a greater risk of developing Type 1 diabetes. Infants who are exclusively breastfed also show a reduction in Chron s disease, ulcerative colitis, Hodgkin s, leukemia, and some childhood lymphomas as lifelong conditions. But Siddhartha was not happy. (Page 6) This is a great example of perception vs. reality as everyone makes it seem that one person might be happy, but inside they can be at the complete opposite state. This causes him to have the desire for more wisdom than what he has been taught. He wanted to find out what was really important and wanted to feel no emotion in regards to what people think of him. What is concentration? What is the ability to leave one s body? What is fasting? What is retention of breath? It is a flight from the self, it is a brief escape from the torment of being I , it is a brief numbing of the mind to counter pain and the senselessness of life. They eventually become numb with the pain and by doing so, the samana are able to leave their worries of the real world temporarily. Yes, he thought breather deeply, I will no longer try to escape from Siddhartha. I will learn from myself, be my own pupil; I will learn from myself the secret of Siddhartha. (Page 32) Here Siddhartha is demonstrating that he is the only one that matters when it comes to thoughts of who he is, and only his opinion of himself matters. Acceptance and the ability to look into himself will lead to that road of happiness. Also, to be minimalistic as to if there is nothing to be needed then it is not. This is something many people should take into consideration as to stay away from being materialistic. He looked around him as if seeing the world for the first time. The world was beautiful, strange, and mysterious. (page 39) Siddhartha Govinda left to join the Samanas to set themselves free for enlightenment. How Religious Figures Are Depicted How Religious Figures are Depicted in Films Religion often plays an important role in Hollywood films, but do Hollywood films play an important role in religion? Perhaps the better question is, Does film play an important role in the way people understand religious concepts? Although the best reasons for going to the movies are to be entertained and eat popcorn, understanding a film is actually quite complex. Movies are not only a reflection of life, they also have the capability of shaping our norms, values, attitudes, and perception of life. Through the media of film, one can find stories of practically anything imaginable and some things unimaginable. Movie makers use their art to entertain, to promote political agendas, to educate, and to present life as it is, was, or could be. They can present truth, truth as they interpret it, or simply ignore truth altogether. A movie can be a work of fiction, non fiction, or anything in between. A film is an artist s interpretation. What one takes away from a film depends upon how one interprets what has been seen and heard. Understanding film is indeed difficult. Understanding religion is also complex. In American society, Christianity is the largest religion; however, there are vast differences among Christians, as to what one is to believe and how one s beliefs are to be put into practice. They began to call the public s attention to an oppression by the upper class through many different issues of the time, which was looked down upon by some, such as Daniel Webster in response to Jackson s bank veto. This dealt with the Bank War which was the primary economic dealing of the time in which President Jackson vetoed the recharter of the Bank of the United States. He did so because he found the bank unconstitutional and thought that it was a near monopoly that only benefited the rich. This stirred public support and brought the class issue to the forefront for many people. Although some looked upon Jackson s decision on the Bank as a bad one, the Jacksonians supported him because they saw it as an attempt to support equality and eliminate a monopoly in the hands of the elite rich. Another such instance that dealt with monopoly and equality of economic opportunity was the Charles River Bridge v. Warren Bridge case in 1837. In it, Chief Justice Taney ruled that new enterprises could not be confined by the implied privileges of old charters, in an effort to allow for competition and free enterprise. The truck is a blue 1974 Chevy C10, and the car is a red 1998 Chevy Cavalier. In my opinion my car is safer, but the truck is cooler. I will be contrasting the body styles, the safety features, and the technical differences. I will also be comparing the basic features. First of all, the body styles are completely different. Well, the truck has a blue body with a body on frame type of construction. It also has a two piece body, the cab and the bed. The car has a small, red, stream line body designed for aerodynamics. It has a uni body design, meaning the body and the frame is one thing. body on frame means that the body sits on the frame and is removable. Secondly, the safety features on the car are vastly superior to the ones on the truck. The car has breaking points all over its body, so that in a wreck it will be damaged worse to soften the impact. The truck just has a rigid steel body designed to stay intact, while that s better for repairs, it s not better for injuries. My car also has airbags, anti lock brakes, and a three point seat belt. The scene I want to focus on for the textual analysis is the scene in which the angel Cassiel attempts to comfort a suicidal man, but his attempts at comfort fail when the man jumps off of a building, causing Cassiel to descend into a spiral of grief and anger. The scene starts with a sound bridge between a shot of birds in flight and a shot of a man sitting on the edge of a building. The sound of the birds mixes with non diegetic music and the sound of the man s thoughts. The viewers can hear his thoughts, which is symbolized by his non diegetic stream of consciousness monologue. Then there are a few interlude shots of Peter Falk, before the montage, which is a maelstrom of quickly paced short shots. The short, confusing shots serve to disorient the viewer and put them in the same headspace as Cassiel, who is grieving, as well as to create symbolic meaning. In between the handheld shots that progress through the city, there are shots of people that are vulnerable or hurt. There is a shot of a woman lying on a staircase, a shot of a man on a bench, possibly an index pointing at him being homeless, a fighting couple, a child crying for his mother, and footage that seems to be from during the war, intercutting with shots of a bird s wings. Bird s wings are symbolically associated with angels, and these shots intercut with shots of war and destruction, linking the two together, the angel is the powerless witness of the war. The viewer understands the shots in the montage to be from the angel s point of view; he is the one who sees all that pain and carries the burden of comfort. According to Kelley (1996) this process is recommended by narrative therapists because it allows the client to begin to see where the discourse emerged from. The therapist must first just listen to the story and determine what the client sees as the existing problem (Kelley, 1996). Then the therapist begins to ask questions with the intention of bringing forth the full meaning of the problem (Kelley, 1996). In deconstruction the therapist searches for answers as to who all is involved with the problem, what past events lead up to the problem development, how the problem changed over time, how the client has been fighting the problem thus far and how the problem is affecting the client s life (Kelley, 1996). Kelley (1996) reported that after the therapist has a full understanding of the problem the deconstruction phase moves on to its second stage. The therapist and the client begin working together to break down the prevailing story in order to map the influence the problem is having on the client s life (Kelley, 1996). Mapping the effect of the problem is particularly important because it lays the foundation of the new story line (Monk, Winslade, Crocket Epston, 1997). Since the majority of us do not have the luxury of being born into wealth or power, the choices that we make ultimately shape our successes in life. Adam Carolla begins by using examples to highlight the concepts of consistency and residual income. Conversely, Adam Carolla cites an example of negative reinforcement being used as a form of motivation. He refers to his time working as a carpet cleaner out of high school and the pain he felt from working a horrible job with people he did not like. Carolla explains that by being miserable at a bad job, he learned he did not want to continue working at a career that he did not enjoy. Using pain as a motivating factor, this realization forced Adam to forge a better career path for himself. Another important aspect of creating opportunities revolves around the concept of doing a job well regardless of whether you enjoy it or not. In reality, the dream job is not typically the first job, the second job, or even the third. However, this does not count as an excuse for not performing to the highest capacity at any level of work. Adam expands, saying that it is crucial to get in the habit of doing things well and not judge a job because you it feel it might be below you. Doing a job properly and to the fullest ability demonstrates attention to the detail and is a key indicator of overall job performance to employers. Experience and knowledge are also key elements that an individual can use to take advantage of opportunities. • 49. Social Causes Of Youth Homelessness On this essay, I am going to write about youth homelessness the causes of this phenomenon in this country, and why it remains an issue very complex to resolve. There are a number of causes for youth homelessness but we can divide them into two big groups: Causes derived from social policies such as lack of funding or cuts to housing benefit; and causes derived from personal circumstances, for example, a family breakdown. Both renting and owing a home are challenging options for young people for many reasons including lack of skills and money; that in some occasions translate not having somewhere to stay. On the social causes for homelessness we find that one of the biggest issues is the shortage of housing, the parliament estimates the need for additional housing in England at between 232,000 to 300,000 new units per year, a level not reached since the late 1970s and two to three times current supply. Even though this does not only affect young people in my opinion young people are one of the most disadvantaged because the lack of supply makes housing very expensive and under 25 s get paid less minimum wage so they can t afford to pay a house deposit. Another important social policy cause is that since April 2017 young people aged 16 21(with some exemptions) will not be entitled to apply for housing benefit a move made by the government to prevent young people slipping into a life of benefits (HM treasury 2015).
