every government s policy to explore Ghana s hydrocarbon deposits. Historically, exploration for oil
and gas reserves in Ghana had been very limited due to the high risk nature of its terrain and low oil
price environment in 2004 when the Kosmos /E.O group made initial contact with GNPC. Between
1898 to the late nineties an estimated hundred exploration wells had been drilled in Ghana with no
significant discovery except for the Saltpond oil find in 1970. Our expert opinion on the recent oil

Question I 1. What do you want to review and why to begin your assessment of the organization s
compliance with HIPAA regarding the use and disclosure of PHI for research? My initial review
would begin with conducting a risk assessment involving these areas: a. Patient HIPAA agreements I
would review the organization patient HIPAA information release forms to ensure that the form

How Animation Can Bring The Dullest Of The Features And...
Introduction
In a sense Animation can bring the dullest of the features and bring it to life. It s like magic that gives
the most seemingly inanimate objects different kind of emotions and vitality. Animation made its way
to the Multimedia as one of the most attractive and much sought component over the years.
What is animation? To animate means to impart motion on something that cannot. Animation also
adds the essence of time, which increases the possibility of sending the desired information. Animator
need to specify how the thing they are animating move through time and space.
Decades ago when CGI doesn t exist animators were hand drawing plates for animated films and
cartoons, or relying on stop motion to create realistic effect. The birth of 3D animation was a long
process and cost billions and time to develop. Director of Avatar James Cameron waited around 20
years until 3D animation has advance before starting filming Avatar in 2009.

Descriptive Essay About Tinker Bell
The bearing summer heat shines down on us. My black wool socks absorb the heat, making my feet
feel sticky like gum. My dance shoes hug my toes. Not the sweet, grandma type hug, but more of a
strangling and choking squeeze. The actors next to me are suffering as well. I hope our stage makeup
doesn t sweat off. I whisper to my neighbor Boy, it sure is hot today. The boy next to me has a
bandana tied around his head hiding his short, wispy tan hair. When the show is over it my as well be
a mop of sweat. He whispers back Shhh! There is a slight tone in his voice. Suddenly, a small, sparkly
girl glistens pass our handmade ship we are leaning on. It s Tinker Bell. I can hear her tiny voice
interact with the audience, introducing our story. The other fairies raise their delicate voices
crescending to the final not of the song. A half hour, the sun ticking a wy like a clock in the sky....
Heh. That reminds me of the Tic Toc Croc. The actress who portrays this character wears a ginormous
croc costume, which is most likely a million degrees. That does not dent her kindred spirit though. She
always dab at the end of her song. Hey! It s our cue! taps my neighbor Jenny. I stand up and focus my
senses under my eyepatch. Soon our song begins. We burst out of the ship in a chorus like fashion
chanting: Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirate s life for me. As we walk drunkenly across the stone water fountain
cement, ur beloved captain appears. He steps of the mahogany balcony with

Babatunde Olatunji
The Nigerian drummer, Babatunde Olatunji, brought the traditions of African drumming to America
while studying in New York, but it all started in Ajido, Nigeria where he was born. Babatunde Olatunji
was born on April 7, 1927 in Ajido Nigeria. He was born in the family of the Yoruba Tribe, which was
one of Nigeria s largest ethnic groups. As a teen, Olatunji moved to Nigeria s biggest city, Lagos, in
order to attend school where he received the Rotary International Foundation Scholarship. The
scholarship was given by the United States in 1950 where Olatunji decided to leave home for Atlanta,
Georgia. Although he had gone to Atlanta to study political science, his interest in music continued to

While the rhythm sets the beat, the melody is the main creator of the characteristics. The melody sets
the tone, mood, and the story behind the song. Many songs feature complex melodies in order to tell
its story, but the melody is quite simple in Oya (Primitive Fire) . The melody is played by many
different percussion instruments, and begins in the second section of the song. At first listen, the song
sounds more like different layers of rhythmic patterns, but the combination of these patterns creates a
distinct melody. Unlike in common western music, the melody is being created through the use of
layers and counterpoint rather than a solo instrument. This is very common in the ancient African
music that Olatunji learned. The melody is played in a pentomic scale, but because a lot of Nigerian
drum music is improvisation, it is difficult to identify the specific major or minor scale.
The harmony is a harder concept to grasp in Olatunji s musical works because of the style of Nigerian
drum music. Nigerian drum music is commonly layers of instruments put together. Because each
instrument has its own leading role, it is hard to hear which instrument is specifically harmonizing
with the other instruments. In Oya (Primitive Fire) however, the harmony is a bit more prominent; the
harmony is played by the drums in section two. In this section there are two sets of drums being
played.

The True King Arthur
The True King Arthur
Kings, dragons, and great battles come to mind when you think of the Dark Ages. Another subject that
comes to mind is the great King Arthur. Everyone has heard of the so called King Arthur and his
infamous knights of the round table. The modern versions of King Arthur are just tales and myths told
to kids, but who is the true Arthur? Did he even exist? There are multiple suitors for the role of King
Arthur, but one man sticks out more than the others.
First, I want to talk about the myth and legends of King Arthur. According to Wyly, before Arthur s
birth, Britain was in the midst of a civil that was between numerous noblemen wanting land to gain
power (Wyly 18). Although there were noblemen warring for land and power, ... Show more content

Merlin then turned Arthur over to Sir Ector, to raise and love as his own with Ector s other son Sir Kay
(Wyly 20). While Arthur was being raised by Sir Ector, Uther fell deathly ill and died after a final
legendary battle (Wyly 21). Soon after the land went into another power struggle, but this time it was a
little more organized. There was a tournament held for all suitors to come and present their might and
potentially claim the throne (Wyly 21). Fortunately for Arthur his elder brother, Sir Kay, attended this
tournament, but forgot his sword at home (Wyly 22). In a panic Arthur searched for a sword for his
brother, and in this panic Arthur pulled the sword from the stone, which said the one who pulls the
sword from the stove is the true king of England (Wyly 22 23). Upon learning of this event and the
origins of the sword, all of the knights kneeled to him (Wyly 24). That is how Arthur reclaimed the
throne and began the legend of King Arthur.
Soon after, Arthur acquired a wife, Queen Guinevere, due to advice from Merlin and his knights
(Knowles 76). As it came to be Guinevere was the daughter of King Leodegrance, who also had The
Round Table (Knowles 76). Upon hearing of Arthur s desire to wed his daughter, King Leodegrance

Childhood And Adolescence During The Middle Ages
History has demonstrated that an evolution occurs with the aging of society. One such evolution is the
treatment of children. The concept of parens partriae was influenced by the exesting concepts of
childhood and adolescence during the Middle Ages. It experienced its first major evolution, judging
the 1960s, and has seen a further evolution in modern times. The following essay discuses those
evolutions, and evaluates if they are for the better, or worse.
According to dictionary.com definition of Parens Patriae is the government, or any other authority,
regarded as the legal protector of citizens unable to protect themselves. Parens Patriae is Latin for
parent of his or her country. It refers to the state s ability to act in the capacity of guardian for those
who have the inability to care for themselves. Examples of Parens Patriae are disabled individuals and
children. However, there has not always been protection for children. The middle Ages, was
significantly different for children, then it is at present. During the middle ages, the first relationship
that children experienced were within their immediate families. Like today, children lived with their
parents and siblings. However, because people dies younger, from disease, children were also know to
live with their extended families, such as aunts or uncles. Grandparents were disclosed, as most

Tom Blake Bully
Bullying is something that should always be prevented anywhere, whether it s online, at school, at

bullied especially just to lift someone s confidence up. There can be a stop to bullying, one just needs
to put their mind to it. Tom is your typical teenage guy; he goes to school and enjoys sports. He has a
pretty worry free life, his parents have always taught him to worry about school and nothing else that
could possibly affect him in a negative way. He is very intelligent when it comes to book smarts; he

back to the guy that everyone that had known him for a long time remembered, and they were glad
that he was not the same rude and obnoxious person anymore and that his eyes were opened and that
he realized that what he had done was wrong.
Bullying is an act of violence even if there isn t actual physical hurting. Mental violence hurts a
human being more than physical violence could hurt someone. Bullying can become something

Introduction. In Term Three Of The Practical Nursing Program
Introduction In term three of the practical nursing program we started our first placement in a hospital
setting. During the second week of placement we went out onto our assignment floors and got to
shadow a nurse. That morning I went to see all of the patients that my nurse had for the day to
introduce myself and tell them if they need anything to let me know. One of the patients that morning
was crying, so I had went up to her asked what was wrong, her response was I have been sitting in my
own stool since 6am, I rang my call bell and no one has came . This type of situation was a moral
dilemma, the patient is unable to change her own brief and the nurse was not nearby to do so. As a

A brief is suppose to be changed at least 5 8 times a day or immediately after it s been soiled. After a
brief change it is important to clean the area properly to prevent any infections. A urinary tract
infection can occur if a patient stays in their soiled brief for an extended amount of time or if they are
not cleansed properly. Another consequence with having a soiled brief is that you could be at risk for
skin breakdown. As stated Too much moisture over hydrates the skin, making it weak and more
sensitive to friction, shear and breakdown (think about being in the tub or pool for a long time).
Primary sources of excess skin moisture include sweating, bowel and bladder accidents, and drainage
from wounds (Skin Health: Prevention and Treatment of Skin Breakdown,2011). Therefore, if a
healthcare provider does not attend to a soiled brief immediately, risk for infection and skin
breakdown will occur.
My personal/ professional values and beliefs In this situation I felt that it conflicted with me on a
personal and professional level, being a student nurse and also a women. When I first went into the
room and seen a patient crying, I wanted to help but with my qualifications as a student I was not able
to. As a women not being able to change yourself or do anything on your own, takes away your pride
and dignity, making you feel useless and lowers your self esteem. If I had a family member in the
hospital I would hope that the nurses are treating them

Benefits Of Attending A Community College
Students nowadays face many challenges when it comes to obtaining a college education. We evaluate
an institution s quality based on what we need the most. The qualities sought out may vary by each
person s personal point of view. However, as a student, I ve found that most students seek for an
institute that benefits them the most. Attending a community college has been an enormous advantage
towards my education. I have been attending San Bernardino Valley College for the last two
semesters. I have come to respect their philosophies and values. The institution has now been in
business for 87 years. They venture to encourage both students and faculty towards high standards of
achievement and progress into exceptional members of the society. They now offer a variety of
degrees, transfer programs and certificates for a wide range of students. San Bernardino Valley
College has an accomplished staff, student support services and technological tools that pave the road
towards the conquest of a quality education.
Benefits of attending a community college as opposed to a traditional university tend to be overlooked
by potential students. They are either unaware of its advantages or do not fully understand how this
type of education can benefit their cause. Year after year large amounts of students choose to go
straight from high school and in to four year universities. The problem with this particular situations is
that universities in general tend to have 50 400 students in one

Essay on Recognizing the Armenian Genocide
The Armenian Genocide, also known as the Armenian Holocaust, was the organized killing of
Armenians. While there is no clear agreement on how many Armenians lost their lives, there is general

However, in 1913, an ultra nationalist group within the movement seized control of the group. This
faction was comprised of men who believed in creating a pure Turkish country that excluded non
Muslim and non Turkish people like the Christian Armenians (FACT SHEET). Two of head people of
CUP (Committee for Union and Progress) would later be responsible for initiating the mass murder.
They were Talat Pasha, and Jamal Pasha. Talat Pasha, also known as Mehmed Talat, was the minister
of interior affairs and Jamal Pasha was the Military Governor of Syria. These leaders became close
friends with Germany which in turn supplied the Turks with military support and training and in 1914,
the Ottoman Empire aligned itself with Germany and the central powers in World War I. As the war
raged on, and the Turks fought the Christian Russians, they began to worry about the Armenians. They
were worried that the Armenians would turn on them and fight on the enemy s side. Therefore CUP
decided the best thing to do is eliminate the race, wipe them off the face of the earth. The start of the
genocide started early in the year of 1915. The Turkish government starts to poke at an Armenian
massacre by publicly accusing and punishing Armenian bakers on an obviously false charge of
poisoning their bread (Genocide). By this time the Turks have also disarmed most of the Armenians

Taylorism And The Degradation Of Work

extent to which the question statement is true. In terms of key phrases, this essay focuses on

Celebrity Essay
What does it mean to be a celebrity? Celebrities are just famous usually well known for some type of
work they whether it be from acting, creating music, comedy, directing, or even social media most
celebrities are usually part of only one of these sub categories. Don t get me wrong there are some
multi hyphenate artists, but only one person exemplifies this more than Donald Glover Aka Childish
Gambino (Stage name) well known for rapping, writer, producer, actor, sketch comic, and stand up
comedic. I did not choose a specific song, scene from his tv show, or his album cover art mainly

Donald Glover left tv for a music artist career and became childish Gambino with eager fans, but with
some of the harshest critics. This was not the only time he had a self fulfilling prophecy. Coming from
a home strict with Jehovah Witness beliefs from his family. From his perspective, the religion told him
that the world was bad I believe it made me see the world differently. Part of the religion is teaching
you that the world is an evil place, so trying to reconcile really liking stuff in the world but also being

Religion being one of the biggest institutions in the world and because of the influence it has on

Introduction Paragraph...
Is a polar bear one of the eight species? A polar bear is a one of the eight species. Scientists believe
that the polar bear began over 200,000 years ago. They came from the brown bears ancestors. Most
experts think that polar bears are the longest bears. Males measure over 10 feet long, when standing
on their hind legs, other bear not so much. Brown bears and polar bear are the largest and are both
land carnivores. Polar bears are one of the worlds largest world predictors.
2.) Polar bears don t hibernate! Polar bears don t hibernate, expect if it is a pregnant female that
hibernates over winter in dens. Unlike other bears like brown, black, grizzle, polar bears don t
hibernate. Others may just dig a hole and spend several days in the hole, at a time. When the pregnant
female s activity level decreases, she gives birth and nurses her cubs. When the weather conditions are
rough, they might stay in longer. Polar bears are evolved to live in cold climates unlike brown bears

Kraft Foods, Incorporated has a long history, but even large companies who have been around a long

This method was eventually patented in 1916. This business continued to thrive, and in 1930, National

complex timeline of events, but
these three founders were a huge part of the foundation of this business. Through this long history,
Kraft has acquired more than 70 major brands (The History of, n.d., pg. 5). Kraft Foods Incorporated

make such a big mistake, and how did it affect them in the long run?
Ready to Roll Sweepstakes In June of 1989, Kraft Foods Incorporated put a promotional sweepstakes

The World Of The Desert
Dubai has built some of the world s prettiest buildings and other amazing feats that can t be
accomplished in the desert, but they somehow did it. For example, they built the tallest building in the
world in the middle of the desert, and the world s first 7 star hotel on an island in the Persian Gulf.
They have also built the two biggest malls in the world and one of them has a ski slope in it, yet it
stands in the middle of the desert. They also built a 5 star golf course in the desert and it is one of the
prettiest golf courses in the world. They also just passed London s Heathrow airport for being the most
traveled through airport, because when in Dubai two flights can land people anywhere in the world.
As a result, they just announced they are building a new airport that will make the old one look like
child s play. When they ran out of shoreline, for beachfront properties for the rich and wealthy, they
built new islands, all in shapes appealing to tourists, like palm trees or the globe. Ironically, Dubai
doesn t get most of their money from oil, they get it from tourism. This strategy is bold, since if they
fail to build things that will bring in tourists, one of the greatest cities on earth will not be so great

Pinhole Camera History
Photography
Photography is a word derived from the Greek words photos ( light ) and graphein ( to draw ) The
word was first used by the scientist Sir John F.W. Herschel in 1839. It is a method of recording images

Project A Satire
The action hero who does all his own stunts , that is what American audiences started calling famous
Chinese director, actor, and martial arts expert Jackie Chan. His movies are known to be action
packed, full of hand to hand combat, as well as having some comedic moments. The films analyzed in
this paper will be Project A (1982), Project A 2(1987), as well as Police Story (1985). All of these take
place in Hong Kong and are filled with satirical comedy as well as many martial arts scenes. During
the 1980 s, Hong Kong was known for its wealth, and it was recognized for its politics, expensive real
estate prices, as well as their entertainment. During that time, the manufacturing industry fell, as other
economic aspects like foreign trade and personal and general community services increased. Since

However, when it comes to satirical comedy, I noticed a clear distinction between the three movies.
The first two parts of Project A, give the impression of trying to portray a more serious role. On the
other hand, Police Story, has plenty of satirical moments as well as some sarcastic ones. My
conclusion to this is because Jackie Chan is trying to make fun of the Hong Kong society at the time.
During the 1980 s, crime in Hong Kong was abundant, and because of it, the director of the film tried
to ridicule the drug cartel portrayed in the movie. They are played as clumsy, and easily defeated by
Jackie Chan s incredible martial arts skills. During the whole movie, the astute policeman, played by
Jackie Chan, constantly outsmarts the Hong Kong drug cartel. In other words, the Hong Kong cartel is
portrayed as stupid and incompetent. During the Project A films however, even though we do see this
overpower of the protagonist on his enemies, it is not as apparent. Sanpao, as well as his followers,

Meanwhile, Renaissance and Antiquity became a synonym of university, which was used alternatively
as its Latin translation academy . As Renaissance was over and was taken over by Mannerism in art,
academies became more loose and informal and grew in number in Italy. Since 1540 even the
associations liked to call themselves academies, which further made the understanding of its
connotation complex. In Rome the academy found by Queen Christina changed the notion further as it
became center of activities like reading and criticizing poetry, literature, performing drama and
comedy plays. The author focused the meanings of academy getting broader. Feastings organized by
peasants, lecturing, discussions and research by scholars were added aims to the academies in Italy.
However the term was never used for the entire university or a school. In schools academies were
referred as groups of students tutored privately by some noblemen. This spread in the use of
academies affected the art abundantly after the Mannerism took over. Artists started to specialize in
various genre of art i.e. still life, folk life, water color etc. in contrast with Renaissance academies the
Mannerism academies were organized, with elaborated rules.

China s Most Favored Nation Trade Status
If the United States is going to stand by and let China break the agreement that we have set then what
is the point of having rules or laws in the first place? If we can accept the fact that China is breaking
our laws then we can also understand that this behavior can very well lead to a state of anarchy and
lawlessness. These are all things that are breed by a lack of law, and also facilitated by a lack of proper
enforcement of our current laws. This is a warning also for the future as we show China that the

How Did The Mahele Impact The Hawaiians
Mahele means land division in Hawaiian and within the land division it was split into four parts, the
King, chiefs, commoners, and could be purchased by the foreigners (Borreca). This happened when
King Kamehameha realized that his Hawaiian Islands could be taken forcefully by the foreigners
(Borreca). Then, King Kamehameha created the mahele to prevent foreigners from taking their land.
This did not go well because the Hawaiian chiefs started to sell the land to the foreigners which
caused Hawaiians land ownership to lessen. The mahele did not benefit the Hawaiians because they
lost resources, lost land, and their crops were stolen and destroyed by the foreigners.
A political impact was that the Hawaiians lost many resources. This was because of the land divider
did not equally and fairly divide the land. Hawaiians that lived in the ocean and the midland were
unable to go into the mountains and cut down trees for their needs. Therefore Hawaiian childrens were
eating raw potato because of no firewood and their mouths were swollen from eaten raw taro (Hio).

Taking a Look at Photosynthetic Pigments
Photosynthetic pigments
Introduction
Some animals and most plants use photosynthesis to convert light energy into chemical energy. The
energy that is created can be stored and is accessed later on by consumers. The consumers of the
organisms break bonds while digesting the plant material and the stored energy is released into their
perspective systems. The entire process of photosynthesis can be summarized as carbon dioxide and
water reacting with light to create sugar, water and oxygen. Although put deceivingly simple terms,
the process of photosynthesis energy conversion can be broken into two different reaction pathways, a
light independent reaction and a light dependent reaction. In the light independent reaction, the energy
stored by the plant as ATP and NADPH is used to fixate carbon dioxide and create sugar. Inversely,
the light dependent reactions use the absorption of light to produce ATP and high energy electrons that
are stored. The absorbing molecules found within the plant are referred to as pigments and each one
absorbs different wavelengths. For example, chlorophyll absorbs red and blue light while other
pigments absorb all other wavelengths of light that are left over. The other pigments found in plants
fall into a group called carotenoids. Within the carotenoid group, the wavelengths for violet and blue
light are absorbed. To understanding pigments in plants in relation to light, Thin Layer
Chromatography (TLC) and spectroscopy are used to test the

Giving children too many participation awards gives them a false sense of skill. If they think they are

The American Of The White Americans Essay
The strong will of the white Americans lead to many different races of people changing their ideas
because of what was being exerted on them. In dealing with the other races Americans had many
opposed views and different ideas for their cultures and also their sufficiency of self government.
Americans in the nineteenth century used domestic policy to culturally deprive the newly freed slaves
and the American Indians, then in the early twentieth century Americans used newly gained power and
foreign policy to help and rule over the Philippines and the people who inhabited there. America is no
stranger to imposing their own ideas onto other people and even other places. Slaves once freed really
were not free at all. Many things still inhibited them into starting their own independent lives. White
Americans were a big one, the placement of black codes, negative perceptions of the Freedman s
Bureau and just the view of African Americans in general all prohibited black slaves to live their lives
the way they wanted to. Rather they were required to live how the white men wanted them to live. The
Americans had the attitude of being above and better than the African Americans, their negativity and
deprivation of blacks led to America being unable to progress for a long while. Document 12.9 in

Analysis Of Diving Into The Wreck
A Learning Journey Adrienne Rich s poem Diving into the Wreck is a detailed piece written in free
verse that discusses the emotional journey of her narrator as she sails out into sea to scuba dive and try
to uncover a myth that she once read in a book. The narrator uses a detached tone while explaining her
dive beneath the sea to show a constant image of lonesomeness and a clear focus of the actions of
humanity. In doing so, she creates a feeling of isolation while discovering the wreck she originally
came to find as well as an internal journey we soon come to find out. From the beginning, the narrator
of this poem states being alone by comparing her situation to a group of explorers. I am having to do
this/not like Cousteau with his/assiduous team/aboard the sun flooded schooner/but here alone (Rich 8
12). Here she is showing her lonesomeness compared to the adventures of Cousteau and his team.
There is also an image within this line that stands out from the rest which is in line 11, sun flooded
schooner, which contrasts her situation and journey and shows us how gloomy it really is going on this
adventure by herself (Rich). Going forth through the poem, the tone remains detached and becomes
less intense as we read on, so us as readers never know how she is truly feeling. Reading further, we
approach a symbol and an arguable metaphor for a portal between two worlds: the ladder. Starting on
line 13, the ladder receives its own stanza, The ladder is always

Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Gap Among Working Women
Critical Analysis Template
PRINCIPLE:
The gender pay gap is defined as a discrepancy in the average level of wages, salaries, and income

Pay gap grows as worker age, is in public sector work, and widen among married workers than singles

Essay On A Quilt Of A Country By Nadine Gordimer
A quilt of a country is an essay about the idea that every man in the united states is created equal.
Anna Quindlen says that the united states is like a huge quilt. That means that it is full of many
different crazy people who come together as one when it matters. Also this means if our country is in
danger like on 9/11 the people of the united states no matter what race help each other. Also in the text
she compares America to a mongrel what she means by this is that
America is full of all different people from all different races and people who are of two races. I
believe that the United States is better as a mixed nation with all different races.

What all these stories have in common is they all talk about something that is seen in our everyday

races. She refers to our nation as a mongrel of a nation meaning it is full of mixed people. The second
story talks about slavery in africa and how it affected her. You can still see forms of slavery in today s

about symbolism and how a dad needed to pay more attention to his daughter. You can see symbols all

In conclusion i believe that all of these stories are important in their own way. Also i believe that these
points need to be solved before we can move on. Child slavery in china is a huge problem that needs

Inequality in Latin America Essay
Although Latin America has faced many social, political, and economic issues within the last three
centuries, inequality remains one of the most important, historical, and omnipresent aspects of the
region s culture. As Europeans took over Latin America during the time of colonization, they
implemented many elitist social structures that have held strong and are evident today (Harris).
Income inequality is the most visible and greatest disparity that the region faces; yet inequality
between gender, ethnicities, and education remain strong and significant problems with a necessity for

Only few Europeans came over to colonize, but their human capital, technology, wealth, and legal and
economic institutions made it effortless to take control. Spain emerged as the leader in colonizing the
New World and implemented encomiendas, aiding certain elites and giving little to the rest of the
population. The Catholic Church, fueling Spain and Portugal s exclusive ownership of land, led to
social mobility and acquisition of titles. Led by elites, the Church had favorable settler condition and
acquired land in order to gain immense wealth and express their position of elitism (Harris). The
prompt initial land inequality fostered concentrated political power as well. Elites controlled the
governments in order to protect their interests and diminish all possibilities of shifts of power to the
lower classes (De Ferranti). After many countries in Latin America received their independence,
limited change of conditions occurred and the elite maintained control in the new republics. The basis
for economic inequality remained the same and the patterns persisted. In the early 19th century, the
majority of countries had developed republican democracies yet the upper class still had the power to
act in their own interests. A direct bearing established the extent of the elite s ability to influence the

Advantages And Disadvantages On Bonds
What are bonds?
You have probably heard people talking about bonds, or read about them and how much one can earn
if they invest in bonds but you really do not know what bonds are or how they work. We shall take
you through all these and enlighten you.
Bonds are debt securities or debt investment whereby, if you buy a bond, you are actually lending your
money but with security. It is a way for you to invest your money by lending it. Borrowers will issue
bonds so as to raise funds from investors and most of the funds are usually used as capital for further
ventures or expansion. Some of the entities that issue bonds are governments, corporations,
municipalities and other federal agencies.
The entity that issues the bond is known as the Issuer and when you purchase one, ... Show more

1. High taxes are charged on the interest payments from bonds than most of the other investment
incomes. Therefore this will affect how much you end up with as interest because what you get is
what is left after the taxes have been deducted.
2. Bonds may have low risk factors; however, they also have lower returns if compared to other
investments such as stocks. This means that if you are going for high returns in a short time then
bonds are not the best option.
3. If you buy a bond when interest rates are low, even if the interest rates go up, you will still get your
interests calculated at the low rates rather than being revised to the high interest rates. This, therefore,
means that you are stuck at earning using low interest rates no matter how high the interest rates rise.
4. The interest you an investor earns from bonds are mostly paid either once a year or twice a year in
most cases. This means that if you are looking for a more regular source of income as an investment,
then bonds would not be great for you unless you find bonds that pay off interest more

Longhorn Steakhouse History
LongHorn Steakhouse
It all started with a man by the name of George McKerrow Jr, who had a passion for delicious steaks.
Luckily he had a snowstorm hit his hometown in Atlanta, Georgia that brought stranded motorist into
the only hospitable place available a restaurant called LongHorn Steaks Restaurant Saloon. The tales
of the expertly grilled steak was spread like a wildfire throughout the towns. This was the beginning
of a new chain restaurant called LongHorn Steakhouse, which is known for their Flo s Filet and the
Bone In Outlaw, fall of the bone ribs, and hand cut salmon. In later years, LongHorn eventually joined
Darden Restaurants with Olive Garden and Red Lobster. With a location in Mechanicsburg,
Pennsylvania, it is one of many steakhouses that you can choose from. It is a well organized restaurant
that has been serving steak, chicken, and fish for 30 years where the meat is never frozen. In addition
to that, it is the only steakhouse that catches the eyes of the customer, usually from the dark red lights
that light up during the night. The restaurant is opened Sunday to Thursday from 11:00 AM to 10:00
PM and Friday to Saturday 11:00 to 11:00 PM.
As we walk through the double doors of the entrance, we are warmly greeted right away by the
LongHorn Staff, who are dressed in black tops and blue jeans. We had dinner at Longhorn after
discovering a 30 minute wait at our first restaurant choice. The wait at Longhorn was only about 15
minutes, which was not bad for a

Shakespeare As A Modern Comedy
William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright and actor. He is widely regarded as the greatest
writer in the English language and the world s pre eminent dramatist. He is often called England s
national poet and the Bard of Avon. Shakespeare has written many plays during his time. He wrote
poems, tragedies, and of course some of his most known plays are comedies. What made Shakespeare
so popular? Why are his comedies so well known? How did his way of writing comedies form the
way others wrote and continue to write in the years after him? These are some questions many
educators and students want to understand while studying Shakespeare. Focusing on his writing within
his most popular comedies, Shakespeare has formed literature into what it is today. When the first
collected edition of Shakespeare s plays, the First Folio, was published in 1623, its contents page
divided them into three categories: comedies, histories and, tragedies. The list of comedies included
Measure for Measure and The Merchant of Venice, plays that modern audiences and readers have not
found particularly funny. Also included were two late plays, The Tempest and The Winter s Tale, that
critics often now classify as romances (Mullan). If we ask ourselves what these four plays have in
common with those such as As You Like It or Twelfth Night; which we are used to calling comedies,
the answer gives us a clue to the meaning of comedy for many of Shakespeare s educated
contemporaries. All of them

The Application Of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
Nowadays, new technology is rapidly shaping the way how construction projects are delivered. The
application of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is one of these examples. Unlike conventional aerial
measurement by aircraft, it doesn t require expensive aeronautical facility and trivial procedure.
Comparing to other surveying approaches like using the GPS navigation, the UAV systems can
outperform in many large scale projects by saving cost and time. There many explorations to potential
applications of UAVs budget and schedule control, construction innovation, and safety practices.
However, in the United States, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and many state
regulations often prevent or limit the wide use of UAVs. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To fulfill that goal, the booming technology like point cloud technology can be utilized with the
UAVs. In construction aspect, the point cloud data is a set of coordinates produced by 3D scanning
process which executed by the UAVs. By software like Geomagic Studio, the point cloud data for the
job site can be converted into 3D topographic, or the sections inside the building can be transformed
into 3D models. By the year 2018, the domestic UAV industry is expected to grow to be a $13.6
billion market (Hanna, 2014). Due to the small payload of the UAVs and the movement attributions in
the flight, the most of unmanned aerial vehicles utilized in the construction site cannot be equipped
with professional cameras. However, the data collected by UAVs still meets the accuracy requirements
for the construction. Comparing to other surveying options like using measure station or GPS
equipment, the data collected by UAV systems can still outperform the data measured by traditional
equipment and techniques in cost and time. Therefore, with proper construction strategy, the UAV
systems with point cloud can be a promising tool for construction. It is important for construction
managers to consider value engineering which means balancing three elements: quality, cost, and
schedule in the construction process. Basically, applying UAV system with point cloud technology can
improve the overall construction efficiency through three aspects: improving the

The Re-birth, Revolt, and Removal of the Cherokee Essay
The Re birth, Revolt, and Removal of the Cherokee
The Cherokee were forced into giving up most of their land in the eighteenth century. Through
fraudulent treaties and unjust deals the Cherokee lost close to all of their land during this time. One of
the biggest loses coming from Henderson s Purchase , in Kentucky, 1775. In an effort to stop the
complete takeover of all Indian land, the Cherokees go through a transformation in order to survive in
a new world. The great Cherokee renascence of 1794 1833 was the re birth of that people in the image
of the United States, yet with a difference. (McLoughlin, Preface)
The Cherokee renascence was an attempt to conform to a new economic and political society, through

The laws that the natives had made, became more elaborate, and were put together as their
constitution in 1827. The Cherokees became prime example of a developing Indian, and were labeled
as, the most civilized tribe in America. (McLoughlin, pg. 279) The Cherokees became self sufficient
and began competing with American traders, instead of having to rely on their goods to survive. Their
newfound education also helped in their ability to reason, and bargain. Another important aspect in
this renascence, that affected Indian education, was the emergence of mixed blood Indians. The mixed
blood Indians brought a new blend of people who had the knowledge of both cultures and could better
combine both ways of living into one that was better off.
They adopted many European customs while outlining American way of life, such as, a representative
government, schools, churches, roads, and even styles of fashion. The Cherokee also took on
American thoughts on slavery, and in many cases had slaves. Since the Cherokees homeland was in
the Deep South, they thought it would be prudent politically to take the side of slavery. Taking on
these new European customs has an adverse effect on traditional Indian ways. They still celebrated
some of their old festivals the Green Corn Dance for Thanksgiving, the purification ritual, the lighting

The Role Of Irritable Bowel Disease ( Ibd )
Although the gut microbiota are involved in a range of functions within the human body, this essay
will focus on their role in the development of Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD). The human gut
microbiota play a significant role in the metabolic health of individuals with irritable bowel diseases
such as Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Crohn s Disease (CD). IBD, UC and CD are chronic
gastrointestinal illnesses, all of which have an uncertain etiology. Symptoms of these illnesses can
include diarrhoea, weight loss, ulceration, proliferation and even total obstruction of the
gastrointestinal (GI) tract. (1). However the causes of these diseases are not strictly known(2). There
are a vast number of bacterial species that reside within the GI tract, some of which can play a role in
producing inflammation. It is believed that microbial patterns may play a role in causing IBD. The
innate immune system may play a role in altering the gut microbiota profile. Certain pathogens have
also been found to play a role in the development of IBD. Finally, diet and nutrition play a role in
IBD, however certain nutrients are believed to have both positive and negative effects. This essay will
aim to critically explore what is responsible for IBD: both internal and external factors that influence
the human gut microbiota, and hence trigger IBD, or more specifically; an abnormal immune response
in a vulnerable individual, or a deviation in immune function that leads to an altered immune response

Who Is The Sheng Family Obituary In Nineteenth-Century...
Sheng Xuanhuai 盛宣懷 (1844 1916), former Minister of Communications and Junior Guardian of the
Heir Apparent (taizi taibao 太子太保) of the Qing Dynasty (1644 1911), passed away in Shanghai on
April 27, 1916. In November 1917, the Sheng family assembled an unprecedentedly extravagant
funeral procession in the International Settlement of Shanghai. Widely believed to have cost the Sheng
family 300,000 silver dollars, the mile long cortege passed along major streets at the heart of Shanghai
and thereby captivated probably over one million spectators. The 1917 funeral procession of Sheng
Xuanhuai made a lasting impression upon the Shanghai citizens as a grand spectacle in this city. While
a living Sheng Xuanhuai s accomplishment in modernizing China s industry, commerce, education,
and transportation has been fruitfully studied, this article turns attention to a deceased Sheng s
contribution to shaping a modern sensibility in early twentieth century Shanghai. The activities in
November 1917 to mourn the late Sheng Xuanhuai that featured ... Show more content on

Examples Of Obstacles In A Play
An obstacles that I have overcame was stage fright, When I was in a play I didn t want to talk in front
of anyone. At first, I was really shy and didn t want to talk for my director because maybe I will forget
the words that I had to say. Also, my whole family was gonna be at the play watching me talk. Not
only, was I scared to talk on stage I was scared to talk to the others that were in the play with me.
Finally, I talked to this girl who had the lead roll her name was Angel she had helped me talk in the

Meanwhile, When it was my turn to talk in front of my director i was thinking of what she had told me

While the rhythm sets the beat, the melody is the main creator of the characteristics. The melody sets the tone, mood, and the story behind the song. Many songs feature complex melodies in order to tell its story, but the melody is quite simple in Oya (Primitive Fire) . The melody is played by many different percussion instruments, and begins in the second section of the song. At first listen, the song sounds more like different layers of rhythmic patterns, but the combination of these patterns creates a distinct melody. Unlike in common western music, the melody is being created through the use of layers and counterpoint rather than a solo instrument. This is very common in the ancient African music that Olatunji learned. The melody is played in a pentomic scale, but because a lot of Nigerian drum music is improvisation, it is difficult to identify the specific major or minor scale. The harmony is a harder concept to grasp in Olatunji s musical works because of the style of Nigerian drum music. Nigerian drum music is commonly layers of instruments put together. Because each instrument has its own leading role, it is hard to hear which instrument is specifically harmonizing with the other instruments. In Oya (Primitive Fire) however, the harmony is a bit more prominent; the harmony is played by the drums in section two. In this section there are two sets of drums being played. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A brief is suppose to be changed at least 5 8 times a day or immediately after it s been soiled. After a brief change it is important to clean the area properly to prevent any infections. A urinary tract infection can occur if a patient stays in their soiled brief for an extended amount of time or if they are not cleansed properly. Another consequence with having a soiled brief is that you could be at risk for skin breakdown. As stated Too much moisture over hydrates the skin, making it weak and more sensitive to friction, shear and breakdown (think about being in the tub or pool for a long time). Primary sources of excess skin moisture include sweating, bowel and bladder accidents, and drainage from wounds (Skin Health: Prevention and Treatment of Skin Breakdown,2011). Therefore, if a healthcare provider does not attend to a soiled brief immediately, risk for infection and skin breakdown will occur. When I first went into the room and seen a patient crying, I wanted to help but with my qualifications as a student I was not able to. While there is no clear agreement on how many Armenians lost their lives, there is general agreement among Western scholars that over a million Armenians may have perished between 1914 and 1918. It all happened during the Ottoman Empire, present day Turkey, where 2 million Armenians lived. The Armenian Genocide is the second most studied massacre, after the Holocaust. However, in 1913, an ultra nationalist group within the movement seized control of the group. This faction was comprised of men who believed in creating a pure Turkish country that excluded non Muslim and non Turkish people like the Christian Armenians (FACT SHEET). Two of head people of CUP (Committee for Union and Progress) would later be responsible for initiating the mass murder. They were Talat Pasha, and Jamal Pasha. Talat Pasha, also known as Mehmed Talat, was the minister of interior affairs and Jamal Pasha was the Military Governor of Syria. These leaders became close friends with Germany which in turn supplied the Turks with military support and training and in 1914, the Ottoman Empire aligned itself with Germany and the central powers in World War I. As the war raged on, and the Turks fought the Christian Russians, they began to worry about the Armenians. They were worried that the Armenians would turn on them and fight on the enemy s side. Therefore CUP decided the best thing to do is eliminate the race, wipe them off the face of the earth. The start of the genocide started early in the year of 1915. The Turkish government starts to poke at an Armenian massacre by publicly accusing and punishing Armenian bakers on an obviously false charge of poisoning their bread (Genocide). By this time the Turks have also disarmed most of the Armenians that are/were serving in the military (FACT SHEET). April 24th 1915, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This essay will conclude that Taylorism hasn t led to the degradation of work to a full extent as most importantly it has the opposite effect on knowledge workers by upskilling their occupations, through improving their depth of knowledge. How Did The Mahele Impact The Hawaiians Mahele means land division in Hawaiian and within the land division it was split into four parts, the King, chiefs, commoners, and could be purchased by the foreigners (Borreca). This happened when King Kamehameha realized that his Hawaiian Islands could be taken forcefully by the foreigners (Borreca). Then, King Kamehameha created the mahele to prevent foreigners from taking their land. This did not go well because the Hawaiian chiefs started to sell the land to the foreigners which caused Hawaiians land ownership to lessen. The mahele did not benefit the Hawaiians because they lost resources, lost land, and their crops were stolen and destroyed by the foreigners. • 31. Taking a Look at Photosynthetic Pigments Photosynthetic pigments Introduction Some animals and most plants use photosynthesis to convert light energy into chemical energy. The energy that is created can be stored and is accessed later on by consumers. The consumers of the organisms break bonds while digesting the plant material and the stored energy is released into their perspective systems. The entire process of photosynthesis can be summarized as carbon dioxide and water reacting with light to create sugar, water and oxygen. Although put deceivingly simple terms, the process of photosynthesis energy conversion can be broken into two different reaction pathways, a light independent reaction and a light dependent reaction. In the light independent reaction, the energy stored by the plant as ATP and NADPH is used to fixate carbon dioxide and create sugar. Inversely, the light dependent reactions use the absorption of light to produce ATP and high energy electrons that are stored. The absorbing molecules found within the plant are referred to as pigments and each one absorbs different wavelengths. For example, chlorophyll absorbs red and blue light while other pigments absorb all other wavelengths of light that are left over. The other pigments found in plants fall into a group called carotenoids. Within the carotenoid group, the wavelengths for violet and blue light are absorbed. In dealing with the other races Americans had many opposed views and different ideas for their cultures and also their sufficiency of self government. Analysis Of Diving Into The Wreck A Learning Journey Adrienne Rich s poem Diving into the Wreck is a detailed piece written in free verse that discusses the emotional journey of her narrator as she sails out into sea to scuba dive and try to uncover a myth that she once read in a book. The narrator uses a detached tone while explaining her dive beneath the sea to show a constant image of lonesomeness and a clear focus of the actions of humanity. In doing so, she creates a feeling of isolation while discovering the wreck she originally came to find as well as an internal journey we soon come to find out. From the beginning, the narrator of this poem states being alone by comparing her situation to a group of explorers. I am having to do this/not like Cousteau with his/assiduous team/aboard the sun flooded schooner/but here alone (Rich 8 12). Here she is showing her lonesomeness compared to the adventures of Cousteau and his team. There is also an image within this line that stands out from the rest which is in line 11, sun flooded schooner, which contrasts her situation and journey and shows us how gloomy it really is going on this adventure by herself (Rich). Going forth through the poem, the tone remains detached and becomes less intense as we read on, so us as readers never know how she is truly feeling. Anna Quindlen says that the united states is like a huge quilt. That means that it is full of many different crazy people who come together as one when it matters. Also this means if our country is in danger like on 9/11 the people of the united states no matter what race help each other. Also in the text she compares America to a mongrel what she means by this is that America is full of all different people from all different races and people who are of two races. Inequality in Latin America Essay Although Latin America has faced many social, political, and economic issues within the last three centuries, inequality remains one of the most important, historical, and omnipresent aspects of the region s culture. As Europeans took over Latin America during the time of colonization, they implemented many elitist social structures that have held strong and are evident today (Harris). Income inequality is the most visible and greatest disparity that the region faces; yet inequality between gender, ethnicities, and education remain strong and significant problems with a necessity for improvement. Only few Europeans came over to colonize, but their human capital, technology, wealth, and legal and economic institutions made it effortless to take control. Spain emerged as the leader in colonizing the New World and implemented encomiendas, aiding certain elites and giving little to the rest of the population. The Catholic Church, fueling Spain and Portugal s exclusive ownership of land, led to social mobility and acquisition of titles. Led by elites, the Church had favorable settler condition and acquired land in order to gain immense wealth and express their position of elitism (Harris). The prompt initial land inequality fostered concentrated political power as well. Elites controlled the governments in order to protect their interests and diminish all possibilities of shifts of power to the lower classes (De Ferranti). After many countries in Latin America received their independence, limited change of conditions occurred and the elite maintained control in the new republics. The basis for economic inequality remained the same and the patterns persisted. In the early 19th century, the majority of countries had developed republican democracies yet the upper class still had the power to act in their own interests. A direct bearing established the extent of the elite s ability to influence the formation of government policies. Landowners opposed any institutional change that could transfer power ... Therefore this will affect how much you end up with as interest because what you get is what is left after the taxes have been deducted. 2. Bonds may have low risk factors; however, they also have lower returns if compared to other investments such as stocks. This means that if you are going for high returns in a short time then bonds are not the best option. 3. If you buy a bond when interest rates are low, even if the interest rates go up, you will still get your interests calculated at the low rates rather than being revised to the high interest rates. This, therefore, means that you are stuck at earning using low interest rates no matter how high the interest rates rise. 4. These are some questions many educators and students want to understand while studying Shakespeare. Focusing on his writing within his most popular comedies, Shakespeare has formed literature into what it is today. When the first collected edition of Shakespeare s plays, the First Folio, was published in 1623, its contents page divided them into three categories: comedies, histories and, tragedies. The list of comedies included Measure for Measure and The Merchant of Venice, plays that modern audiences and readers have not found particularly funny. Also included were two late plays, The Tempest and The Winter s Tale, that critics often now classify as romances (Mullan). If we ask ourselves what these four plays have in common with those such as As You Like It or Twelfth Night; which we are used to calling comedies, the answer gives us a clue to the meaning of comedy for many of Shakespeare s educated contemporaries. By the year 2018, the domestic UAV industry is expected to grow to be a $13.6 billion market (Hanna, 2014). Due to the small payload of the UAVs and the movement attributions in the flight, the most of unmanned aerial vehicles utilized in the construction site cannot be equipped with professional cameras. However, the data collected by UAVs still meets the accuracy requirements for the construction. Comparing to other surveying options like using measure station or GPS equipment, the data collected by UAV systems can still outperform the data measured by traditional equipment and techniques in cost and time. Therefore, with proper construction strategy, the UAV systems with point cloud can be a promising tool for construction. The Role Of Irritable Bowel Disease ( Ibd ) Although the gut microbiota are involved in a range of functions within the human body, this essay will focus on their role in the development of Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD). The human gut microbiota play a significant role in the metabolic health of individuals with irritable bowel diseases such as Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Crohn s Disease (CD). IBD, UC and CD are chronic gastrointestinal illnesses, all of which have an uncertain etiology. Symptoms of these illnesses can include diarrhoea, weight loss, ulceration, proliferation and even total obstruction of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. (1). However the causes of these diseases are not strictly known(2). There are a vast number of bacterial species that reside within the GI tract, some of which can play a role in producing inflammation. It is believed that microbial patterns may play a role in causing IBD. The innate immune system may play a role in altering the gut microbiota profile. Certain pathogens have also been found to play a role in the development of IBD. Finally, diet and nutrition play a role in IBD, however certain nutrients are believed to have both positive and negative effects. This essay will aim to critically explore what is responsible for IBD: both internal and external factors that influence the human gut microbiota, and hence trigger IBD, or more specifically; an abnormal immune response in a vulnerable individual, or a deviation in immune function that leads to an altered immune response ...
