Interest Groups Essay
An interest group is an organized group of people that come together to attempt to influence
policymakers in any level of government. They influence the different levels of government by giving
money to a political candidate. They write letters, emails, and make phone calls to the policymakers.
They attempt to get the policymakers to make legislation reflecting the objectives of the group (This
Nation, 2008). Americans choose to join these interest groups because they are motivated by the group
s objectives. They believe the group will protect their interest within the political realm. For an
example, a Texas restaurant owner might join the local chamber of commerce in order to have her
business interest represented within the local ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first one is lobbying. This the practice of talking with policymakers to persuade them to support a
certain legislation. It also includes testifying before congressional committees for or against a
proposed legislation (Schmidt, S., et al., 2011, p.151). The ratings game is where the group identify
the legislation that consider most important to goals then monitor how policymakers voted on it. The
legislators then receive scores based on their votes, on a range from 0 to 100%. A 100 percent means
that the policymaker voted with the group on every issue (Schmidt, S., et al., 2011, p.151). Campaign
assistance is the form of group members are able to work for the political campaigns, including
precinct workers to get out the vote. volunteers to put up posters, and pass out literature. staff the
phone banks at the campaign headquarters (Schmidt, S., et al., 2011, p.152). They generate public
pressure by producing advertisements in magazines and newspapers, mass mailings, and TV, and
demonstrations. The Internet make communication even more effective. The intent of this activity is to
convince policymakers that the public supports the group s position in a proposed legislation
(Schmidt, S., et al., 2011, p.152). The interest group utilize the constituents of the policymakers to

The Role of Infrastructure in Information Assurance and Cyber Security
The attacks on critical infrastructure have become a growing cause of concern for governments and
private providers internationally whether caused through cybercriminals pursuing financial gain or by
hackers as political acts intended to emasculate governments and companies credibility. The anxiety
around these threats is vindicated, as research exhibits that attacks on the critical infrastructure are
greater than before in both complexity and prevalence and will endure to develop in the near future.
The site management and monitoring have progressed for critical infrastructure facilities as they have
become more increasingly connected to the internet. However, added convenience of connectivity has
turned once limited attack surface of these industries into a fertile landscape for cyber attacks. Due to
the potentially high profile impacts of attacks on critical infrastructure systems, these industries have
become even more attractive targets for cybercriminals (Cavelty, 2014).

Re: Analytical Procedures
Audit Risks:
After analyzing the financial statements of Peach Blossom Cologne Company, we have concluded
through the change analysis the following accounts contain some measure of audit risk. In analyzing
the change analysis we concluded on threshold amounts of any change exceeding 15% and above the
amount of $5000. If both criteria were met, a business reason and possible client error reason were
provided. The following accounts provide the possibility for audit risk:
Cash Business reason: Acquired a loan during the period to obtain cash; Client error: Not properly
recording all expenses paid in cash
Accounts Receivable Business reason: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are some items that could affect the account (more reliable suppliers lowering the percentage
calculated), but this seems to go against the increase in accounts receivable. It will be important for
the audit team to find the underlying cause for the decrease in the percentage estimated.
Depreciation expense Depreciation did increase from the prior year, but not to the extent which would
have been expected. Peach Blossom made many equipment purchases in office, auto, and machines all
increasing from the prior period. It would be expected to have increased at a higher rate. The audit
team must figure out which method of depreciation Peach Blossom is using and make sure first year
depreciation on assets is being calculated.
Assessment of Risk of Financial Failure:
After analyzing the financial ratios of Peach Blossom Cologne Company, we place the company at a
low risk of client financial failure. The amount in sales, net income, and debt the company has
incurred show the company does not have an issue paying its liabilities. The ratios are analyzed below
in order to show the reasoning behind our distinction of the risk of financial failure.
Current and quick ratios The current ratio shows the companies ability to pay off its debt obligations
in a timely manner The ratios for Peach Blossom for the past two years are well above the industry
averages of both of the ratios.. It is therefore unlikely

Elsie and Her Mother in Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit
In a story of a young girl coming of age and finding her sexuality in a very religious community, it is
key to have a female figure that plays a key role for the character. A mother should play the key role
but what happens when this role is confused with a very spiritual role? Where will a young girl turn to
when her life goes against the rules society has set for her?
Jeanette has lived a sheltered life with no influence on her except for the church. Her mother is a strict
Christian with a deep resentment for things and people not within her fold. Being brought up in a
society where going against the norm is a sin. A society that shakes its head at acts of individualism
and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These differences between these two women are what make Jeanette a rounded person, if not a
confused one at first. Jeanette gained a sense a self with her mother. She knew she was to work with
the Lord and teach his words to others. Her goal in life was to go and be a missionary, to teach others
how to believe in God. Combined with this imbedded sense of self is the confidence Elsie gave her.
Elsie not only understood
the word of the Lord and came from within the society Jeanette grew up in, she had a sense of the
world around her, that the world didn?t start and stop with the preaching of the Lord. Elsie gave
Jeanette a feeling of fellowship, a deep friendship that was based on true feelings, not the Lord.
In one part of the book Elsie helps Jeanette with the transition of home schooling, which was based on
biblical texts, to public schooling. Elsie gave Jeanette a way of incorporating her biblical background
into a public school setting, even if it did shock and raise eyebrows. The older woman gave Jeanette a
much needed avenue to express herself. At this time her mother is not too upset with the friendship.
She likes the reaction Jeanette is getting from her religious art works and other biblical oddities that
seem out of place in public school. Elsie is still seen as a fellow follower, a follower of Jeanette?s
mother.
The relationship between Elsie and her mother gets strained after Jeanette is

The Effects Of Energy Subsidies On The Consumer, The...
Abstract Subsidies are one of the most powerful policy tools in the hands of the government. They
have been used for decades to achieve a range of economic, social and environmental objectives.
Indeed, one of the most important and challenging responsibilities of a government is allocating
financial resources to achieve public good. This paper analyses the effects of energy subsidies on the
consumer, the economy and the energy industry. Energy subsidies are any government actions that
support the cost of energy production in terms of reduction in prices paid by consumers and increase
in revenues to energy producers (World Bank, 2010). These investments aim to improve energy access
by making prices more affordable, shielding domestic consumers from international price volatility
and supporting energy intensive industries (The International Institute for sustainable development,
2012). In practice, energy subsidies come in different forms. (The IEA, 2002) and (UNEP, 2008)
identify the following typical mechanisms by which governments support the production and
consumption of energy: Direct financial transfers: grants to consumers, grants to producers, low
interest or preferential loans and government loan guarantees; Preferential tax treatment: tax credits,
tax rebates, exemptions on royalties, duties or tariffs, reduced tax rates, deferred tax liabilities and
accelerated depreciation on energy supply equipment; Trade restrictions: tariffs, tariff rate import
quotas

There is no doubt that the goal of the Social Security plan is noble. President Roosevelt said, upon it s
signing, We can never insure...the population against one hundred percent of the hazards and
vicissitudes of life, but we have tried to frame a law which will give some measure of protection to the
average citizen...against the loss of a job and against poverty ridden old age (SSA.) However, the
program is currently under uneasy footing. The main concern with Social Security is that, at the
current rate, funding will deplete after the next eighteen years (Wharton.) Social security was
established during a time when people had a shorter life expectation and as this life expectation
extends new funds will be necessary to continue the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Increased life expectancy and a decreasing birth rate have several implications both negative and
positive. This is good news the pressures created by rapid population growth are being relaxed, and
people are more likely to live to old age but it creates problems for programs such as Social Security...
In the United States, the retirement of the baby boom generation will result in a decrease in the
number of workers per Social Security beneficiary from 3.3 now to 2.0 in the year 2030 (Triest.) This
may not be the end to this reduction in the workers per beneficiary either. Similar to NIFI, Federal
Reserve economist Robert Triest expects the trust fund for Social Security to be exhausted by the year
2029. Therefore, there is a clear call for reform of this system. While the need for reform is little
disputed, how the reform is to take place is still in question. Before suggesting specific courses of
action it is important to consider the overarching goal of the reform. Is the goal simply to ensure that
the program has solid fiscal footing, or is it the increase in national saving? (Triest) Certainly there are
many economic benefits to better national savings, but achieving higher national savings is more
difficult than simply funding social security. In fact, since Robert Triest s overview in 1997, the US
has decreased the national savings rate as a percentage of GDP (Fig. 1) One major concern in

The Homelessness Of Homeless Youth Essay
Homeless individuals can be easily detected in our society. They are the individuals dressed in drab
clothing asking for money, the people sleeping on park benches in the middle of the night, and the
people who we judge when they beg for money wondering why they don t get a job. They are judged
under a certain narrative that reduces the homeless individual into their current state of being
(Lancione, 2013). To understand homelessness one should not only look at the current condition of the
individuals but also look at the discourse of factors and events that led homeless individuals into their
current states. Homeless youth although hard to spot are still very much a current problem in our
society. Many youth fall in between the cracks of the system and are forced to find different ways to
produce some sort of income. There is a strong stigma involved when it comes to homeless youth and
many face dangers and a great amount of stress while living on the streets (Kidd, 2007). Many of the
homeless youth find it difficult to survive and often don t have shelter and are always hungry (Kidd,
2007). To support themselves, many homeless youth find themselves engaging in prostitution as a
means of income and survival (Kidd, 2007). It is not enough to look at the current state of homeless
youth but also important to understand the different factors that lead them to making certain decisions;
it is no ones first choice to participate in illegal work. In my paper I argue that, the

Ambition In Beowulf
For centuries, culture has molded our minds into believing what is and what isn t considered an epic.
In present day, there are six concrete characteristics that every epic possesses. The poem, Beowulf, is
the perfect example of an epic. It contains all of the characteristics that an epic requires, and embodies
them exquisitely.
Beowulf was an exceptional leader, every epic has a leader who exhibits skillful authority, and the
ambition to protect their people. As the leader of the Geats, Beowulf had to be the strongest, and most
courageous of the men. He displayed his superhuman strength and courage when he battled Grendel.
For example, when Grendel wished to retreat due to Beowulf s grip, the narrator expresses, Had he

supernatural beings such as, Grendel, Grendel s mother, and a dragon. By having these supernatural
forces and creatures, the poem creates a sense of enchanting heroism. Fate and God s will is the

Examples Of God In Night By Elie Wiesel

God is a deity that in Elie wiesel s night, Elie Wiesel worshipped and in the novel those who
worshipped him stopped believing or just generally didn t believe. Before the holocaust and the
ghettos all started in the beginning of the novel all of the Jews had strong a faithful religion with their
God. Elie in the beginning had a very strong faithful religion. He studied the Jewish Oral Law and he
also studied Kabbalah. He started to have belief problems with his religion when they were moved
from the ghettos to their first camp Buna. When he arrived there and was there after awhile when he
saw some of things that were happening he started questioning why God would let what was
happening happen.
Later on in the novel two Jewish holidays pass Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Rosh Hashanah is the
celebration of a new year and Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement. During these two holidays all of
the Jews except Elie celebrated these holidays. While the rest of Jews were celebrating Elie was
questioning now if God even existed and if so whys he still allowing all of these deaths and poor
treatment of the Jewish people happen. Then at the end of the novel Elie didn t believe in him
anymore. All he could wonder was why would any God allowed so many deaths and cruel treatments
to happen. The view Adolf Hitler had on the Jewish peoples was that everything was their faults and
he hated them. Before Hitler became a Dictator he was a soldier just like everyone else in World War 1
and when the German Empire lost he was in disbelief and just couldn t believe it. Many nationalist
and conservatives believed that Germany had not lost the war on the battlefield but due to betrayal
from within, by a stab in the back . Socialists, communists and particularly Jews were blamed, even
though more than 100,000 German and Austrian Jews had served in the war and 12,000 had been
killed.
Hitler then joined NSDAP where he started to gain his power by becoming their strongman due too
being able to inspire people with his speeches. In his speeches he claimed Jews were not only
responsible for the unfair German defeat but were also blocking Germany s recovery. This kind of

Tort law is a very prevalent aspect of conducting business and daily life in the twenty first century.
According to the textbook, The Legal Environment of Business, tort law provides remedies for the
invasion of various protected interests. (Cross Miller, 2012) In this essay about tort law, I will talk
about a tort case that has personally impacted me. To do so, I will provide a background of the event,
apply facts of the case to applicable law, summarize lessons of the week as they relate to this case and

company will undoubtedly be sued for negligence. Chapter 12 section 5 states that negligence occurs
when someone suffers injury because of another s failure to live up to a required duty of care. (Cross
Miller, 2012) The duty of care that the driver had was to obey the traffic laws. He neglected to obey
such laws which ended in an injury to the driver of the truck. There are four elements to negligence.
These elements are duty of care, breach, causation and damages. Duty of Care People are able to act
freely, as long as their acts do not infringe on the rights of others. When a situation such as this
accident occurs they neglect their duty of care. The driver of the dump truck had the duty of care to
abide by the law and failed to do so by ignoring the red light. Breach The driver breached his legal
requirement to duty of care by failing to adhere to a red light. This breach is measured under a
reasonable person standard in that any reasonable person in the same situation would have stopped at
the red light rather than ignore it. A breach is simply a violation of a tort or law. Causation Was the

Petitioner V. Kulbicki Case Study
the court case Maryland, Petitioner v. James Kulbicki, James Kulbicki fatally shot his 22 year old
mistress. Kulbicki shot his mistress on the weekend before he was scheduled for a hearing on unpaid
child support, which was tied into a paternity suit between Kulbicki and his mistress. At Kulbicki s
trial, which began in 1995, evidence was presented that the bullet removed from the head of Kulbicki
s mistress matched the bullet fragment that was left in Kulbicki s truck. FBI Agent Ernest Peele, who
represented the CBLA (Comparative Bullet Lead Analysis), presented this evidence. Peele also

Kulbicki s file stayed in the state court until 2006, when Kulbicki added an additional claim that his

The Court of Appeals then vacated Kulbucki s conviction based on the fact that Kulbucki s attorneys

Kulbucki with effective assistance during the trial. However, the Supreme Court of the United States
held, in a per curiam opnion, that the Court of Appeals based the decision to vacate Kulbicki s
conviction on contemporary views of ballistic evidence. Since there was no reason for counsel to
investigate the validity of the ballistic evidence in 1995, the attorneys provided effective assistance to
Kulbicki because effective assistance did not require attorneys to verify the legitimacy of the ballistic
evidence (Maryland v. Kulbicki, 136 S. Ct. 2

How The Whole Foods Market ( Wfm ) Is A Model Company For...
Before viewing the videos, I thought of how Whole Foods Market (WFM) is a model company for
corporate social responsibility. I am therefore not surprised that the company was the first to endorse
Honest Tea. Seth Goldman, CEO of Honest Tea, echoes some of the very same sentiments that John
Mackey, founder of WFM does with regards to the purpose and mission of his company. Per Goldman
CRS is the focal point of how Honest Tea is managed and the motivation behind the business is not to
see, how many bottles can we sell to make money but how many bottles can we sell to expand this
model of business to make its impact more powerful, creating more than just a business (Honest Tea
Marketing video).
Whole Foods Management Philosophy
Guided by the philosophy of Conscious Capitalism WFM seeks to create value for all stakeholders to
include customers, suppliers, employees, shareholders, and the communities in which they do
business. John Mackey, founder and former Co CEO believes this approach to business helps WFM
fulfill their mission of Whole Foods, Whole People, Whole Planet . WFM s main purpose is not to
seek profits but to positively impact the world in which we live. Mackey believes that as a result of
such behaviors profits will follow. WFM s value driven management style is about making business
decisions that align with the specific values of the company, maximizing the overall long term value
for the company.

W. Jacobs The Monkey s Paw
I need a creative title!
Well, don t break into the money before I get back. (Jacobs, 5) In the short story The Monkey s Paw
by W.W. Jacobs, Herbert White says this, because his parents got greedy and wished for money to pay
for their house using a magical monkey s paw. Their son was then killed in a machinery accident, so
they were given money for his death on that company s property. They lost their son to a tragic death,
all because they got greedy for some money. That is why people should be thankful for what they have
is an ideal that has been lost in society.
First,
People always want what the do not have. For instance, in the story the family uses their first wish to

fact that their son died in a machinery accident. This perfectly happy family was now quiet and sad,
but they got the money that they wanted. They were given the exact amount of money that they
wanted, but their grief was unimaginable. The worst part, they caused their son s death, it was their

The At The Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market From 10
On September 3, 2016, I was given the opportunity to serve at The Statesboro Main Street Farmers
Market from 10:00am until 1:00pm. This event is open to the public from April to November every
Saturday from 9:30am 12:30pm beside the Bulloch County Courthouse and Sea Island Bank. Here
you will find many local vendors selling their own produce. This event is not limited to produce as
you will also find locals selling jewelry, baked goods, crafts, and my personal favorite, coffee. Some
locally owned stores other than farmers bring their business to the market such as Three Tree Coffee
Roasters, Sugar Magnolia, Cork s Kettle Corn, B G Honey Farm, etc. With a small town feel, this
charming location is perfect for the venue at hand.
What was your role at the event?
Upon arrival, I went to the information vendor located in the middle of the Farmers Market where I
was greeted by other volunteers and Melanie Sparrow, who told me my responsibilites for the
upcoming hours. My first duty was to hand out various advertisements for the upcoming GreenFest
which will be held October 1st, 2016, across the street from the Farmers Market. The GreenFest is
held by Georgia Southern s Center for Sustainability. The goal of this event is to teach people about
green living and what it entails. Much like the Farmers Market, there will be live music, vendors, and
workshops. Aside from passing out ads, I also helped keep attendance of everyone in the market by
taking a count every 30 minutes or so.

How Communication Affects The Country, Issues, Problems,...
Introduction
Communication is very essential to humans and is also a fundamental human right. Without
communication, no human being, group or community can exist or flourish, meaning society will not

information. Multiple forms of communication are used everyday such as oral communications which
includes television or conversations and written communications which includes newspapers or
reports. This research essay will talk about how communications such as print media or
telecommunications have developed in Vietnam. The main topics in this essay will be about the
history of communication, factors that led to the improvement of communication, communication

Bornstein and Sam Feder didn t seem to shy away from any aspect of the former s life. One of the
most interesting parts of the film for me involved Bornstein s interactions with presentist queer

perspective and modern transphobia is discussed yet again when Bornstein is speaking with a friend
who slips and uses the wrong pronouns Bornstein lightly teases them, saying that if the wrong
audience had heard him misgender her, they would have called him transphobic. There isn t much I

The Auditor and Fraud
EXPLAIN THE RESPECTIVE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF MANAGEMENT AND
AUDITORS IN THE PREVENTION AND DETECTION OF FRAUD.
The primary responsibility for fraud detection lies with management. This arises due to a contractual
duty of care. Directors are able to discharge their duty toward prevention and detection of fraud and
error in many ways, for example: * Complying with the Combined Code on Corporate Governance *
Developing a code of conduct, monitoring compliance and taking action against breaches *
Emphasising a strong commitment to fraud prevention. This involves establishing a culture of honesty
and ethical behaviour within the organisation with clearly communicated policies. * Establishing an

Typical rationalisations include:
I am only borrowing the money and will pay it back
Nobody will get hurt (perception of fraud as victimless crime
The company treats me unfairly and owes me
Its only temporary until my financial position improves
Everybody s at it!!
The extent to which individuals appear to be motivated by greed. Again, a difficult characteristic to
assess but the individual s concern with money and consumer goods may provide some clues about
this. If someone starts turning up to work in a brand new Ferrari, they may have won the lottery, or
benefited from the demise of a loving relative, or they could be up to no good!!
The degree of loyalty exhibited by an individual. If the individual has been with one firm a long time,
this may indicate a certain level of satisfaction with their employment and perhaps reduce the
likelihood of them committing fraud. You should, however, also be aware that experienced employees,
because they are trusted, might have a greater opportunity to commit fraud. Ernst amp; Young Survey
(2000) found that nearly half of the employees who defrauded their firms had been employed for over
five years. Also bear in mind that opportunities to commit fraud can arise when an employee reaches a
level of trust in an organisation or when internal controls are weak or nonexistent. Then the employee
if he or she is so motivated will perceive that there is an opportunity to commit fraud, conceal it, and

Research Paper On Hezbollah
The Islamic terrorist group that I have selected for this discussion is Hezbollah. The reason is that it is
one of the best funded, organized and lethal terrorists groups in the world. They have attacked several
American facilities in the Middle East, embassies, strategic military points, etc. They have been
funded by the government of Iran but they are also supported by other Islamic groups and nations;
Hamas, one of the most important political parties in Palestine also supports Hezbollah and considers
it its military arm. To the American military bases that surround Iran and that are ready to defend the
American interests in the region, Hezbollah represents one of the biggest concerns (Lahoud, 2010).

Deliberate Self-Harm Paper
Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting
behavior. Past occurrences may cause someone to act in a certain way, especially within social
situations. Deliberate Self Harm (DSH) is a behavior in which a person commits an act with the
purpose of physically harming themselves with or without real suicidal intent. Self harm is most often
related to going through trauma in childhood rather than as an adult. There are many reasons why
people are known to self harm; a lot of the time it is to help feel the pain they are feeling on the inside
in another way. One of the reasons a person may self harm is due to a high rate of childhood sexual or
physical abuse within their past. Despite people s beliefs, people who suffer from a self harm disorder
are not doing it for attention. If someone sees cuts or scars on someone s wrists or legs, their
immediate reaction is that it is from attention. In reality people who self harm are not doing it for
attention and a lot of the time these people take every precaution to hide the cuts to not be questioned
about it. There has been research conducted on many aspects that tie into this behavior; research that
involves both men and women, the outcomes of childhood abuse, and more. Together, these articles of

Star Wars Snoke Theory
Ever since the release of its first film in 1977, Star Wars stands as one of the most important works in
cinema history and has been a significant part of pop culture. At the time when Disney bought
Lucasfilm, fans were delighted to hear the announcement of a new Star Wars trilogy. The first film of
the new trilogy titled Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released in 2015 and left fans with many
unanswered questions, especially about the true identity of a major antagonist. Being known only as
Snoke, the film reveals him as the supreme leader of a military faction called the First Order. With
little screen time and appearing only as a hologram, the true identity of Snoke is shrouded in mystery.
There have been many theories regarding who he could really be. A popular theory I strongly support
is that Snoke is the former master of Emperor Palpatine, the antagonist from the previous trilogies. As
revealed in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Palpatine s master was known as Darth Plagueis. Plagueis
was a Sith Lord who had the uncanny ability to use the force to create life and bring people back from
the dead but was eventually betrayed and killed by Palpatine. Snoke is Plagueis because Snoke

killing Plagueis. Palpatine must have used his signature force lightning at full power and struck him

The Crying Of Lot 49
Trystero and the world around Oedipa are only simulations due to the fact that they have become so
layered with hyperrealism and even more simulations with all the characters Oedipa meets. She is
convinced that she is either uncovering a powerful conspiracy or she is going insane, but willing to go
wherever her investigation leads her in order to find meaning and truth behind it anyway. However,
for Baudrillard, ...it is dangerous to unmask images, since they dissimulate that fact that there is
nothing behind them (Baudrillard 169). In other words, in Oedipa s quest to unmask the clues she
finds, they are all simulations based upon other simulations without any truthful meaning at their core.
The Crying of Lot 49 depicts these layers of simulation through the clues Oedipa finds that are
supposed to reveal the truth behind the word Tristero. Her first introduction to the word Tristero comes
from her encounter of the painting, Bordando el Manto Terrestre. The real life painting by Spanish
exile, Remedios Varo, which depicts women, embroidering a kind of tapestry which spilled out the slit
windows and into a void, seeking hopelessly to fill the void (Pynchon 11). A further analysis is that
she herself is one of these women in the painting, forever weaving the clues and signs she receives,
but ultimately attempting to fill an infinite void.
Next, Oedipa hears the word Trystero in a play called The Courier s Tragedy (Pynchon 49) Then she

Shakespeare Authorship
For this project, I believe that I am an anti stratfordian. There is no possible way that Shakespeare
could have written all of his works in such minimal time. Going into this project, I expect to form a
more educated and informed opinion on this matter. I would like to acknowledge both sides of the
argument and pick a side. Before I started researching for this project, I had no idea where to start.
Frankly, I didn t even realize how controversial the Shakespeare s authorship question really was. I

what false information they presented to you. However, by the end of my research, I am hoping to find

At first I didn t think it was possible for him to write all of those plays. After I did my research, I
learned that playwrights would put other playwrights names on their plays so they would sell. This
allowed me to see that it wasn t Shakespeare s fault that he was claiming these many plays. They also
would put his name on it to pay tribute to him. I learned that Shakespeare did indeed, have a
respectable education, despite what anti stratfordians say. The education that Shakespeare received
from his grammar school was a big help, but it was his immense amount of reading that mainly
contributed to the writing of the plays. Shakespeare really understood everything about how plays
worked, whether it be picking the right actors or making small cramped stages work. Even though he
was a commoner who wrote about nobles and royalty, he was exposed to them in such a way that he
was able to create entire plays based on the upper class lifestyle. But the opposing side thinks Edward
de Vere was the true Bard. But since he died in 1604, and Shakespeare s big plays were produced after
Vere s death, it leads me to believe de Vere is not the true Bard. Lots of famous and respectable people
would disagree with me and claim that Shakespeare isn t the true Bard. However, the majority of
potential evidence points towards Shakespeare being the true Bard. There are too many speculations,

Detecting Facial Cues and Body Language
Expressions are very valuable, as they can prompt us regarding opportunities and threats in individuals
and scenarios that we encounter. Happiness indicates an approachable person while anger signifies
someone to stay away from. These two decisions are the most basic and simplest behavioral decisions.
But sometimes, this decision does go wrong, since humans are after all humans. And along with the
mistake, some circumstances are riskier than others. Such as going up to a vicious person might be an
inherently costly mistake than avoiding a person who is actually safe to approach ( Haselton Buss,
2000).
A highly adapted system of perception might be more attuned to locating cues that would signify
danger, such as the facial intensity in locating hints of anger, in individuals who seem to possess the
capability in dealing out more harm as distinguished by their built, carrying armaments and other
details. Some might not even present any immediate risk, but overlooking an identifying cue that
could indicate the stranger being harmful is a costly mistake due to bodily harm being a possibility
than when seeing such cues where there are none.
Approach, on the other hand, is a tricky matter. And as such, people afford opportunities that are
positive. Failing in getting into contact with a person who presents a favorable opportunity, whether it
is related to providing social support or willing to share resources, may be costly as well but not
overly damaging. And as such, a tuned

In Story of the Hour and The Yellow Wallpaper both share a common setting. The setting of both of
stories is a dark and depressing room. This room is important to the story due to the fact that in both of
the stories the protagonists are in the room for excessive periods of time. Chopin s shows the women
grieving in an empty room, but this empty room gets her the idea that she is now free. When the storm
of grief had spent she went to her room alone. She would have no one follow her (Chopin 144). This
shows that the protagonist is grieving over her husband s death and is wanting to be isolated.
However, in this isolation she does find her freedom. She starts thinking to herself that she can live for

The State Run Regulatory System
The Insurance industry is very heavily state regulated. According to the Government Accountability
Office (GAO) study, the state run regulatory system is Federal verses State Regulation protecting the
markets, insurance industry and policy holders and was evidenced during the financial crisis of 2008
09. The insurance business is highly profitable. Well run companies can make a lot of money, which
breeds competition from both inside and outside competitors (Property, 2013). Insurance companies
were well insulated from the severe financial crisis of 2007 2008 that affected the banks and security
firms, because the State regulations have the Insurance Industry walled off from Federal Regulations
(Property, 2013). During the Great Depression of the 1930s Insurance policy holders were protected
by the states prudent supervision and regulation (Property, 2013).
Banks and financial industry make money from taking risks, Insurance industry make money by
insuring against risk. (Property, 2013). The Federal government regulate the financial and banking
industry very heavily. Over the years, these regulations became more and more lax (Property, 2013).
Some regulations were weakened or eliminated and supervision of these industries were reduced
(Property,2013). Federal authorities decided to let these industries self regulate , which meant letting
everybody do anything they wanted (Property, 2013). Insurance Industry did not feel the same effects.

The Importance Of Art Education
What is the difference between a child a child in a lower income school and a higher income one? The
answer is opportunity. Children raised in lower income areas are less likely to have access to an art
education even in its most basic forms at a developmental stage. A young child is naturally curious
and has a drive to explore life and without an art education a child can lag severely behind other more
fortunate kids who have the opportunity to explore life through colors and develop basic motor skills
from holding a crayon and cutting paper. The definition of an art education varies based on the access
to materials. In one school it may be exploring texture and shape through clay, at another it may be
coloring a color sheet with crayons and markers.
At an early age children are predisposed to have creative needs. Their nature is curiosity and an art
education allows them to explore that while developing important life skills motor skills, self
expression, team work. An art education is the ability to guide children through a multitude of areas of
art whether it be coloring and cutting paper to playing with play doh. All of these allow a child to
explore the world they live in through color and shadow and light and dark. An art education can also
involve a more thorough look at the culture behind the piece, who was the creator, what was their
motivation for the piece. Children who have been exposed to the arts are more likely to identify these

How and where to find academic resources online
Usually where to look is sometimes just as important as how to look for information on the web. If
you find a good search engine once it does not mean it will always be the best engine to use.
Sometimes you need to check many different types of search engines. Like everything on the World
Wide Web search engines come in many different shapes, sizes and styles. Some are real, poorly
developed and some just want to find a way to throw spam at you and hope that you spend money on
their, ever so useless product. Let us start with real search engines and the different types, such as
directories, library directories, library catalogs, spider search engines, super searchers, and alternatives
to search engines.
Directories are topical lists of resources. These are usually compiled information on various topics,
usually by a set of individuals who manage the site. Depending on the management s standards, the
quality of these as in any engine can vary (Ackermann, 2005). A definite positive to using a directory
is that they usually carry less resources of higher quality, thus lessening the haystack, in order to find

A Compartment Of Tendon Progenitors
A Somitic Compartment of Tendon Progenitors Summary
Tendons are some of the most important tissues in the body of any organism, transferring the power
created by the muscles to the bones and allowing coordinated body movements to occur. However,
until recently there was very little known about the origin of this tissue and most of the research
performed focused on the limbs and the tendons associated with them. Along with the limited amount
of research seemingly none of it was focused on the axial and ventrolateral body wall tendons. It was
not until the discovery of Scleraxis (Scx), a bHLH transcription factor found in progenitor cells and
mature tendons, that tendons could be observed through the embryonic stages (Schweitzer et al. ...

Upon confirming that axial and intercostal tendons originated from the somites, the researchers
wanted to determine if the other somitic compartments affected the syndetome fate. Double whole
mount in situ hybridization was used to compare Scx in progenitor cells, Pax1 in sclerotome, and
MyoD in myotome. Scx expression was restricted to the anterior and posterior borders while MyoD
expression was present in the center of the myotome with no overlap of the two markers. When Scx
was compared to Pax1 it appeared that they existed in the same region; however, Pax1 was expressed
more ventromedial and Scx was closer to the myotome, these markers did not have any overlap either.
Additionally, Scx expression occurred much later in development compared to MyoD and Pax1(Kiefer
and Hauschka, 2001; Stockdale et al., 2000). It showed that the Scx expression progenitor cells had a
distinct fate producing a separate compartment of tendon progenitor cells, which did not overlap with
the adjacent tissues.
To establish the origin of the syndetome a fate map was created using a chick quail chimera where two
successive sclerotomes or dermomyotomes were transplanted from a quail to a chick embryo.
Utilizing in situ hybridization to visualize Scx expression and QCPN to identify quail cells,

Machiavelli can be thought of as a humanist. Although opinions on this differ greatly depending on

He used the term virtu in his book The Art of War which is a dialogue on military affairs. It describes
the great ability of a general who is able to adapt to various battlefield conditions as they present
themselves. It is said that the most vilified of political thinkers is also the one of whom it has been said
that he concentrated all his real and supreme values in what he called virtu . 6 What he meant by this
was that a prince would have to develop a different psychology than what he is used to. The new
prince is prepared to vary his conduct as the winds of fortune and changing circumstances constrain
him and not deviate from the right conduct if possible, but be should be capable of entering upon a
path of wrong doing when it becomes necessary . 7 Some ninety years ago Villari said that
Machiavelli always use the word virtue in the sense of courage and energy both for good and evil. To
Christian virtue in its more general meaning, he rather applied the term goodness, and felt much less
admiration for it than for the pagan virtue that was always fruitful of glory. 2 Although the political
life of Niccolo Machiavelli is quite interesting when analyzing his views on government and religion,
his personal life and experiences were equally a representation of him as a humanist. He was

Essay about I Wanted to Share My Father’s World
Although single parenthood is on the rise in homes today, children still often have a father role in their
life. It does not matter who the part is filled by: a father, uncle, older brother, grandfather, etc...; in
almost all cases, those relationships between the father (figure) and child have lasting impacts on the
youth the rest of their lives. In I Wanted to Share My Father s World, Jimmy Carter tells the audience
no matter the situation with a father, hold onto every moment.
As Carter opens the poem, he tells how at this point in his life, he still has this essential want for
things his own father presented him growing up. In the beginning, he expresses he has this ...pain [he]
mostly hide[s], / but [that] ties of blood, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, in this first stanza, Carter is perhaps saying the need for a father in general is a necessity, a
basic human right, and all children deserve a word of praise every now and then.
However, in the following stanzas, Carter changes his tone and tense to show how he felt growing up
with his father. He states, I despised the discipline / he used to shape what I should be (7 8). This
shows Carter, even though he disliked the means of reprimand his father implemented, understands his
father s ways were to help him become the man he should be. Through this insight, Carter says, not
owning up that he might feel / his own when he punished me (9 10). This is possibly saying not only
did he bear the chastisement, but his father sensed the pain as well. Yet again, maybe Carter has a
deeper message and is saying fathers and their children share the same troubles and triumphs. In
addition, Carter remembers how he didn t show [his] need to him, / since his response to an appeal /
would not have meant as much (11 13). Furthermore, he states his response, (12) would not have... /
...been as real (14). Telling such a harsh reality, Carter contrasts his statement and relays to the reader
through those rare [hard] times, (15) ...the pure joy / survive[d] (16 17).
In his closing stanza, Carter shares with the reader his present story and how his father, did in fact,
change his life. He states he, ...came to see what he d become, or always

Disagreeing With Online Dating
What is one commonality that we can get people to agree with worldwide? This is the fact that the
idea and practice of dating is very difficult. Finding that special someone to share a life with is
something that many people dread because we are never more vulnerable then when we are trying to
date. Traditionally we would have to go through many rigorous and almost ritualistic steps when
trying to find a mate. We would have to put on our best outfit, go somewhere public, and interact with
strangers to try and impress them enough that they do not want to walk away within the first thirty
seconds of meeting you. Within todays society however the ideas of dating have changed. Because we
have become so reliant on technology to do many of our activities we have also adapted our methods
for dating. We can now search for the perfect partner on the internet. Dating online has ... Show more

pressure and time constraints that face to face dating can not. We are also able to open up our dating
pool as online dating provides the potential for interactions across the globe where traditional dating is
restrictive and based on the people who are within our immediate area. Traditional dating has no way
convinced the lives of singles. The idea of being at the right place at the right time is all consuming
and finding time to go out to an event and interact socially is very restrictive. This requires an

High Rate of Salivary Nitric Oxide Levels in Children with...
ESTIMATION OF SALIVARY NITRIC OXIDE LEVELS IN CHILDREN WITH CONGENITAL
HEART DISEASES
INTRODUCTION
Heart disease is one of the most common developmental abnormalities among children, affecting
approximately 6 per 1,000 live births , .Dental management of children with congenital heart disease
requires special attention, because of their increased susceptibility to infectious endocarditis,
associated with bacteraemia induced by invasive dental procedures. Oral health in these patients is not
given due importance and thus they often have poor oral health. These patients also have increased
caries risk which may be largely attributed to the developmental enamel defects. , ,
There has been a mounting interest in the role of nitrates and nitrites in protection against oral diseases
particularly dental caries in the last few years. , There is a constant supply of concentrated nitrates, the
metabolic products of nitric oxide (NO) in the human oral cavity. It is generated either directly from
the physiological reduction of dietary nitrates or it originates from L arginine undergoing the reaction
catalyzed by inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) which is an enzyme expressed in salivary glands
and duct epithelial cells when induced by pro inflammatory stimuli. , , ,
Nitric oxide and its metabolic products, nitrates and nitrites, have been associated with various
deleterious effects in humans in the past decades. However, the recent evidence has suggested that NO

Argumentative Essay On Junk Science
In court, before testifying, the speaker is asked to put their hand on a bible and swear to tell the truth
and nothing but the truth. When a forensic specialist is testifying in court, they often say the phrase To
a reasonable degree of scientific certainty when presenting their analysis (Balko par.10). This phrase
sounds convincing and persuasive to both the judge and the jury, but does not have any accepted
meaning in the world of science and it does not give away the percent error of the analysis. If these
experts were to provide the percent error of their analysis in their testimony without saying this
common phrase then maybe the judge and the jury will have a better understanding of the data that is
being presented to them and may not even make a conviction based off the information that of which
was stated. The question that should be asked is how reliable is forensic science and are any advances
being made to prevent junk science from being used in the courtroom?
The opposition may argue that Forensic science is a good way to present evidence to the judge and the
jury to convince them that the defendant is guilty. Although this may be the case in some
circumstances it is not in every case. Forensic science is perceived as a form of science that is
typically being applied to criminal investigations. Most forensic sciences, such as odontology which is
the scientific study of the structure and diseases of teeth, are viewed as junk science because ...it does

The Importance Of Privacy Laws In The United States
The United States privacy laws deal with some legal issues, among which is the invasion of privacy.
In the line of this discussion, an affected party is allowed to file a suit against a person who invades
his or her personal space unlawfully against their own will. This law usually disregards activities that
may be of public interest such as celebrity lives or participation in events that may make news
headlines. Violation an individual s right to privacy can be the cause of a lawsuit against the violator.
The Fourth Amendment protects citizens from unwarranted search or seizure. This, in turn, brings up
the question, Do police invade one s privacy in their daily activities to uphold the law?
The answer is yes, especially regarding the cases

Boarding School Seasons Chapter Summaries
Boarding School Seasons by Brenda J. Child offers a look into the boarding school experiences of
many American Indian students. Child favors unpublished sources such as letters to give an
uncensored inside look into boarding school experiences. However, she also includes other sources
such as school newspapers, oral history collections, photographs, biographies, United States
government publications, and annual reports. Government boarding schools were created to help the
American government gain more control over Indians and to push the Natives to adopt the white ways
of life such as language, skill, and education. While integration was the ultimate objective, Child sets
out to show that even with the challenges of cultural assimilation and a devastating land policy,
American Indian people, even children, placed limits on assimilation and also defined and shaped the
boarding school era. (viii) The boarding schools designed to tear American Indian families apart did
not succeed in isolating children from their tribes, but created bonds and ... Show more content on

The schools were overcrowded, students were malnourished, and the federal government neglected to
provide Native children with even the most basic necessities in the schools where they resided. (32)
This chapter also discussed the assimilation process. Government schools taught students to be
ashamed of their names, their tribal languages, and even family surnames derived from tribal
language. (29) The next chapters speak of the homesickness many students felt because of the
assimilation policies keeping children from returning home on breaks and of the diseases that spread
rapidly throughout the schools such as tuberculosis and trachoma. Through the use of letters between
students and parents, Child paints a portrait of the emotional hardships families faced from being
separated with little

The Causes for the Conflict between Palestinians and Israelis
Conflict Between Palestinians and Israelis; The Cause
Against a backdrop of an ever increasing number of internal conflicts and the crash of conventional
means of conflict resolution to attain a resilient peace in divided societies, this paper presents a two
track approach to peacekeeping and conflict resolution. One track is represented by peacemaking,
defined as endeavors at finding a resolution to the issues in conflict at the political leadership level.
The other track, peacebuilding, refers to contact proposals at the grassroots level targeting at the
enhancement of intergroup relations. After a conversation of role of grassroots peacebuilding in a
peace process some groundwork findings on the bond between peacemaking and peacebuilding in two
divided societies, Palestine and Israel, will be discussed.
War is not a common phenomenon anymore after the post cold war era. According a research
conducted on active armed conflict across the world at the Uppsala University in Sweden, of all the
101 active armed conflicted between the late 80s and mid 90s, only six were actually between two
different states (Solenberg Wallensteen, 1997). These statistics clearly indicates that the conflict in
today s world is more internal and ethnic based.
The majority of the states are ethnically diverse. Nation state is a loosely used term since according to
one survey conducted in the early 70s indicated that out of 132 nations only 12 were truly nation
states. Similarly in 1983 out of

The Other Side of Colombia Travel adds interesting dimensions to a person s life. Some people find
difficulty and unfamiliarity to be compelling reasons to avoid travel, while others thrive on the
adventure of new and unknown destinations. I ve been fortunate to embrace the latter, and have
travelled and lived in many places, and a few countries. Colombia was my home for just over two
years. The people, places, customs and food are spectacular! The reputation of illicit activities are
confined and few, and I experienced none. There is a very progressive governmental structure, and
Colombia does not have any border issues at this time. The people are welcoming, friendly, and

  • 2. Interest Groups Essay An interest group is an organized group of people that come together to attempt to influence policymakers in any level of government. They influence the different levels of government by giving money to a political candidate. They write letters, emails, and make phone calls to the policymakers. They attempt to get the policymakers to make legislation reflecting the objectives of the group (This Nation, 2008). Americans choose to join these interest groups because they are motivated by the group s objectives. They believe the group will protect their interest within the political realm. The Role of Infrastructure in Information Assurance and Cyber Security Name: Institution: The Role of Infrastructure in Information Assurance and Cyber Security The attacks on critical infrastructure have become a growing cause of concern for governments and private providers internationally whether caused through cybercriminals pursuing financial gain or by hackers as political acts intended to emasculate governments and companies credibility. The anxiety around these threats is vindicated, as research exhibits that attacks on the critical infrastructure are greater than before in both complexity and prevalence and will endure to develop in the near future. The site management and monitoring have progressed for critical infrastructure facilities as they have become more increasingly connected to the internet. However, added convenience of connectivity has turned once limited attack surface of these industries into a fertile landscape for cyber attacks. Due to the potentially high profile impacts of attacks on critical infrastructure systems, these industries have become even more attractive targets for cybercriminals (Cavelty, 2014). In analyzing the change analysis we concluded on threshold amounts of any change exceeding 15% and above the amount of $5000. If both criteria were met, a business reason and possible client error reason were provided. The following accounts provide the possibility for audit risk: Cash Business reason: Acquired a loan during the period to obtain cash; Client error: Not properly recording all expenses paid in cash Accounts Receivable Business reason: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are some items that could affect the account (more reliable suppliers lowering the percentage calculated), but this seems to go against the increase in accounts receivable. It will be important for the audit team to find the underlying cause for the decrease in the percentage estimated. Depreciation expense Depreciation did increase from the prior year, but not to the extent which would have been expected. Peach Blossom made many equipment purchases in office, auto, and machines all increasing from the prior period. It would be expected to have increased at a higher rate. The audit team must figure out which method of depreciation Peach Blossom is using and make sure first year depreciation on assets is being calculated. Assessment of Risk of Financial Failure: After analyzing the financial ratios of Peach Blossom Cologne Company, we place the company at a low risk of client financial failure. The amount in sales, net income, and debt the company has incurred show the company does not have an issue paying its liabilities. The ratios are analyzed below in order to show the reasoning behind our distinction of the risk of financial failure. Elsie and Her Mother in Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit In a story of a young girl coming of age and finding her sexuality in a very religious community, it is key to have a female figure that plays a key role for the character. A mother should play the key role but what happens when this role is confused with a very spiritual role? Where will a young girl turn to when her life goes against the rules society has set for her? Jeanette has lived a sheltered life with no influence on her except for the church. Her mother is a strict Christian with a deep resentment for things and people not within her fold. Being brought up in a society where going against the norm is a sin. A society that shakes its head at acts of individualism and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She knew she was to work with the Lord and teach his words to others. Her goal in life was to go and be a missionary, to teach others how to believe in God. Combined with this imbedded sense of self is the confidence Elsie gave her. Elsie not only understood the word of the Lord and came from within the society Jeanette grew up in, she had a sense of the world around her, that the world didn?t start and stop with the preaching of the Lord. Elsie gave Jeanette a feeling of fellowship, a deep friendship that was based on true feelings, not the Lord. In one part of the book Elsie helps Jeanette with the transition of home schooling, which was based on biblical texts, to public schooling. Elsie gave Jeanette a way of incorporating her biblical background into a public school setting, even if it did shock and raise eyebrows. The older woman gave Jeanette a much needed avenue to express herself. At this time her mother is not too upset with the friendship. She likes the reaction Jeanette is getting from her religious art works and other biblical oddities that seem out of place in public school. • 6. The Effects Of Energy Subsidies On The Consumer, The... Abstract Subsidies are one of the most powerful policy tools in the hands of the government. They have been used for decades to achieve a range of economic, social and environmental objectives. Indeed, one of the most important and challenging responsibilities of a government is allocating financial resources to achieve public good. This paper analyses the effects of energy subsidies on the consumer, the economy and the energy industry. Energy subsidies are any government actions that support the cost of energy production in terms of reduction in prices paid by consumers and increase in revenues to energy producers (World Bank, 2010). These investments aim to improve energy access by making prices more affordable, shielding domestic consumers from international price volatility and supporting energy intensive industries (The International Institute for sustainable development, 2012). In practice, energy subsidies come in different forms. (The IEA, 2002) and (UNEP, 2008) identify the following typical mechanisms by which governments support the production and consumption of energy: Direct financial transfers: grants to consumers, grants to producers, low interest or preferential loans and government loan guarantees; Preferential tax treatment: tax credits, tax rebates, exemptions on royalties, duties or tariffs, reduced tax rates, deferred tax liabilities and accelerated depreciation on energy supply equipment; Trade restrictions: tariffs, tariff rate import quotas ... This is good news the pressures created by rapid population growth are being relaxed, and people are more likely to live to old age but it creates problems for programs such as Social Security... In the United States, the retirement of the baby boom generation will result in a decrease in the number of workers per Social Security beneficiary from 3.3 now to 2.0 in the year 2030 (Triest.) This may not be the end to this reduction in the workers per beneficiary either. Similar to NIFI, Federal Reserve economist Robert Triest expects the trust fund for Social Security to be exhausted by the year 2029. Therefore, there is a clear call for reform of this system. While the need for reform is little disputed, how the reform is to take place is still in question. Before suggesting specific courses of action it is important to consider the overarching goal of the reform. Is the goal simply to ensure that the program has solid fiscal footing, or is it the increase in national saving? (Triest) Certainly there are many economic benefits to better national savings, but achieving higher national savings is more difficult than simply funding social security. In fact, since Robert Triest s overview in 1997, the US has decreased the national savings rate as a percentage of GDP (Fig. 1) One major concern in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Homelessness Of Homeless Youth Essay Homeless individuals can be easily detected in our society. They are the individuals dressed in drab clothing asking for money, the people sleeping on park benches in the middle of the night, and the people who we judge when they beg for money wondering why they don t get a job. They are judged under a certain narrative that reduces the homeless individual into their current state of being (Lancione, 2013). To understand homelessness one should not only look at the current condition of the individuals but also look at the discourse of factors and events that led homeless individuals into their current states. Homeless youth although hard to spot are still very much a current problem in our society. Many youth fall in between the cracks of the system and are forced to find different ways to produce some sort of income. There is a strong stigma involved when it comes to homeless youth and many face dangers and a great amount of stress while living on the streets (Kidd, 2007). Many of the homeless youth find it difficult to survive and often don t have shelter and are always hungry (Kidd, 2007). To support themselves, many homeless youth find themselves engaging in prostitution as a means of income and survival (Kidd, 2007). It is not enough to look at the current state of homeless youth but also important to understand the different factors that lead them to making certain decisions; it is no ones first choice to participate in illegal work. Examples Of God In Night By Elie Wiesel Tayson Neely Ms. Scannell English 2 10/2/17 God is a deity that in Elie wiesel s night, Elie Wiesel worshipped and in the novel those who worshipped him stopped believing or just generally didn t believe. Before the holocaust and the ghettos all started in the beginning of the novel all of the Jews had strong a faithful religion with their God. Elie in the beginning had a very strong faithful religion. He studied the Jewish Oral Law and he also studied Kabbalah. He started to have belief problems with his religion when they were moved from the ghettos to their first camp Buna. When he arrived there and was there after awhile when he saw some of things that were happening he started questioning why God would let what was happening happen. Later on in the novel two Jewish holidays pass Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Rosh Hashanah is the celebration of a new year and Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement. During these two holidays all of the Jews except Elie celebrated these holidays. While the rest of Jews were celebrating Elie was questioning now if God even existed and if so whys he still allowing all of these deaths and poor treatment of the Jewish people happen. Then at the end of the novel Elie didn t believe in him anymore. All he could wonder was why would any God allowed so many deaths and cruel treatments to happen. The view Adolf Hitler had on the Jewish peoples was that everything was their faults and he hated them. Before Hitler became a Dictator he was a soldier just like everyone else in World War 1 and when the German Empire lost he was in disbelief and just couldn t believe it. Many nationalist and conservatives believed that Germany had not lost the war on the battlefield but due to betrayal from within, by a stab in the back . Socialists, communists and particularly Jews were blamed, even though more than 100,000 German and Austrian Jews had served in the war and 12,000 had been killed. Hitler then joined NSDAP where he started to gain his power by becoming their strongman due too being able to inspire people with his speeches. In his speeches he claimed Jews were not only responsible for the unfair German defeat but were also blocking Germany s recovery. This kind of shows what he thought of ... Breach The driver breached his legal requirement to duty of care by failing to adhere to a red light. Upon arrival, I went to the information vendor located in the middle of the Farmers Market where I was greeted by other volunteers and Melanie Sparrow, who told me my responsibilites for the upcoming hours. My first duty was to hand out various advertisements for the upcoming GreenFest which will be held October 1st, 2016, across the street from the Farmers Market. The GreenFest is held by Georgia Southern s Center for Sustainability. The goal of this event is to teach people about green living and what it entails. As someone who has never heard of Kate Bornstein before in their life, I was truly in for a treat. I never expected such a wide array of topics to be covered I certainly didn t expect to hear about Scientology, but Kate Bornstein and Sam Feder didn t seem to shy away from any aspect of the former s life. One of the most interesting parts of the film for me involved Bornstein s interactions with presentist queer activists through Twitter and her blog posts. She doesn t shy away from discussing how her use of the term tranny upsets a great majority of her younger audience. In the film, Bornstein claims that her use of tranny marks her as transphobic to plenty of queer folks. Differences between Bornstein s perspective and modern transphobia is discussed yet again when Bornstein is speaking with a friend who slips and uses the wrong pronouns Bornstein lightly teases them, saying that if the wrong audience had heard him misgender her, they would have called him transphobic. There isn t much I can say about how I feel about whether or not Bornstein is in the wrong that s never going to be my call to make. With that in mind, though, Bornstein s insistence in regard to ... The primary responsibility for fraud detection lies with management. This arises due to a contractual duty of care. Past occurrences may cause someone to act in a certain way, especially within social situations. Deliberate Self Harm (DSH) is a behavior in which a person commits an act with the purpose of physically harming themselves with or without real suicidal intent. There are many reasons why people are known to self harm; a lot of the time it is to help feel the pain they are feeling on the inside in another way. One of the reasons a person may self harm is due to a high rate of childhood sexual or physical abuse within their past. The Crying Of Lot 49 Trystero and the world around Oedipa are only simulations due to the fact that they have become so layered with hyperrealism and even more simulations with all the characters Oedipa meets. However, for Baudrillard, ...it is dangerous to unmask images, since they dissimulate that fact that there is nothing behind them (Baudrillard 169). In other words, in Oedipa s quest to unmask the clues she finds, they are all simulations based upon other simulations without any truthful meaning at their core. The Crying of Lot 49 depicts these layers of simulation through the clues Oedipa finds that are supposed to reveal the truth behind the word Tristero. Her first introduction to the word Tristero comes from her encounter of the painting, Bordando el Manto Terrestre. The real life painting by Spanish exile, Remedios Varo, which depicts women, embroidering a kind of tapestry which spilled out the slit windows and into a void, seeking hopelessly to fill the void (Pynchon 11). Happiness indicates an approachable person while anger signifies someone to stay away from. These two decisions are the most basic and simplest behavioral decisions. But sometimes, this decision does go wrong, since humans are after all humans. And along with the mistake, some circumstances are riskier than others. Such as going up to a vicious person might be an inherently costly mistake than avoiding a person who is actually safe to approach ( Haselton Buss, 2000). A highly adapted system of perception might be more attuned to locating cues that would signify danger, such as the facial intensity in locating hints of anger, in individuals who seem to possess the capability in dealing out more harm as distinguished by their built, carrying armaments and other details. Some might not even present any immediate risk, but overlooking an identifying cue that could indicate the stranger being harmful is a costly mistake due to bodily harm being a possibility than when seeing such cues where there are none. Approach, on the other hand, is a tricky matter. And as such, people afford opportunities that are positive. Scx expression was restricted to the anterior and posterior borders while MyoD expression was present in the center of the myotome with no overlap of the two markers. When Scx was compared to Pax1 it appeared that they existed in the same region; however, Pax1 was expressed more ventromedial and Scx was closer to the myotome, these markers did not have any overlap either. Additionally, Scx expression occurred much later in development compared to MyoD and Pax1(Kiefer and Hauschka, 2001; Stockdale et al., 2000). It showed that the Scx expression progenitor cells had a distinct fate producing a separate compartment of tendon progenitor cells, which did not overlap with the adjacent tissues. To establish the origin of the syndetome a fate map was created using a chick quail chimera where two successive sclerotomes or dermomyotomes were transplanted from a quail to a chick embryo. Utilizing in situ hybridization to visualize Scx expression and QCPN to identify quail cells, sclerotome and Scx expressing tendon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He used the term virtu in his book The Art of War which is a dialogue on military affairs. It describes the great ability of a general who is able to adapt to various battlefield conditions as they present themselves. It is said that the most vilified of political thinkers is also the one of whom it has been said that he concentrated all his real and supreme values in what he called virtu . 6 What he meant by this was that a prince would have to develop a different psychology than what he is used to. The new prince is prepared to vary his conduct as the winds of fortune and changing circumstances constrain him and not deviate from the right conduct if possible, but be should be capable of entering upon a path of wrong doing when it becomes necessary . 7 Some ninety years ago Villari said that Machiavelli always use the word virtue in the sense of courage and energy both for good and evil. To Christian virtue in its more general meaning, he rather applied the term goodness, and felt much less admiration for it than for the pagan virtue that was always fruitful of glory. 2 Although the political life of Niccolo Machiavelli is quite interesting when analyzing his views on government and religion, his personal life and experiences were equally a representation of him as a humanist. It does not matter who the part is filled by: a father, uncle, older brother, grandfather, etc...; in almost all cases, those relationships between the father (figure) and child have lasting impacts on the youth the rest of their lives. In I Wanted to Share My Father s World, Jimmy Carter tells the audience no matter the situation with a father, hold onto every moment. As Carter opens the poem, he tells how at this point in his life, he still has this essential want for things his own father presented him growing up. In the beginning, he expresses he has this ...pain [he] mostly hide[s], / but [that] ties of blood, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, in this first stanza, Carter is perhaps saying the need for a father in general is a necessity, a basic human right, and all children deserve a word of praise every now and then. However, in the following stanzas, Carter changes his tone and tense to show how he felt growing up with his father. He states, I despised the discipline / he used to shape what I should be (7 8). This shows Carter, even though he disliked the means of reprimand his father implemented, understands his father s ways were to help him become the man he should be. Through this insight, Carter says, not owning up that he might feel / his own when he punished me (9 10). This is possibly saying not only did he bear the chastisement, but his father sensed the pain as well. Yet again, maybe Carter has a deeper message and is saying fathers and their children share the same troubles and triumphs. ESTIMATION OF SALIVARY NITRIC OXIDE LEVELS IN CHILDREN WITH CONGENITAL HEART DISEASES INTRODUCTION Heart disease is one of the most common developmental abnormalities among children, affecting approximately 6 per 1,000 live births , .Dental management of children with congenital heart disease requires special attention, because of their increased susceptibility to infectious endocarditis, associated with bacteraemia induced by invasive dental procedures. Oral health in these patients is not given due importance and thus they often have poor oral health. These patients also have increased caries risk which may be largely attributed to the developmental enamel defects. , , There has been a mounting interest in the role of nitrates and nitrites in protection against oral diseases particularly dental caries in the last few years. , There is a constant supply of concentrated nitrates, the metabolic products of nitric oxide (NO) in the human oral cavity. It is generated either directly from the physiological reduction of dietary nitrates or it originates from L arginine undergoing the reaction catalyzed by inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) which is an enzyme expressed in salivary glands and duct epithelial cells when induced by pro inflammatory stimuli. , , , Nitric oxide and its metabolic products, nitrates and nitrites, have been associated with various deleterious effects in humans in the past decades. • 45. Argumentative Essay On Junk Science In court, before testifying, the speaker is asked to put their hand on a bible and swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. When a forensic specialist is testifying in court, they often say the phrase To a reasonable degree of scientific certainty when presenting their analysis (Balko par.10). This phrase sounds convincing and persuasive to both the judge and the jury, but does not have any accepted meaning in the world of science and it does not give away the percent error of the analysis. If these experts were to provide the percent error of their analysis in their testimony without saying this common phrase then maybe the judge and the jury will have a better understanding of the data that is being presented to them and may not even make a conviction based off the information that of which was stated. The question that should be asked is how reliable is forensic science and are any advances being made to prevent junk science from being used in the courtroom? The opposition may argue that Forensic science is a good way to present evidence to the judge and the jury to convince them that the defendant is guilty. Although this may be the case in some circumstances it is not in every case. Forensic science is perceived as a form of science that is typically being applied to criminal investigations. Child favors unpublished sources such as letters to give an uncensored inside look into boarding school experiences. However, she also includes other sources such as school newspapers, oral history collections, photographs, biographies, United States government publications, and annual reports. Government boarding schools were created to help the American government gain more control over Indians and to push the Natives to adopt the white ways of life such as language, skill, and education. While integration was the ultimate objective, Child sets out to show that even with the challenges of cultural assimilation and a devastating land policy, American Indian people, even children, placed limits on assimilation and also defined and shaped the boarding school era. The Causes for the Conflict between Palestinians and Israelis Conflict Between Palestinians and Israelis; The Cause Against a backdrop of an ever increasing number of internal conflicts and the crash of conventional means of conflict resolution to attain a resilient peace in divided societies, this paper presents a two track approach to peacekeeping and conflict resolution. One track is represented by peacemaking, defined as endeavors at finding a resolution to the issues in conflict at the political leadership level. The other track, peacebuilding, refers to contact proposals at the grassroots level targeting at the enhancement of intergroup relations. After a conversation of role of grassroots peacebuilding in a peace process some groundwork findings on the bond between peacemaking and peacebuilding in two divided societies, Palestine and Israel, will be discussed.
