2. The Importance Of Work In The Workplace
For many employed people, a workplace is like a second home. According to the Organisation
for Economic Co operation and Development in 2016 in the United States, the annual hours
actually worked per worker on their main job is 1,783 hours (OECD, 2017). The atmosphere of
a workplace contributes to the mental and emotional wellness of its employees and the
productivity of an organization, as a whole; therefore, it is important to establish consistent
house rules or guidelines to communicate to both management and employees how to conduct
themselves for the goodwill of the company and its people. Every person at an organization
brings a diverse set of individual needs and motivations apart from the company s primary
agenda. Despite their commitment to perform their specific work responsibilities while in the
workplace, each person obligates himself or herself to non work urgencies that can produce
interruptions within the boundaries of their required duty to an organization (Casper DePaulo,
2012). Such non work urgencies may involve a spouse or a child for a partnered employee;
therefore, many organizations establish family friendly policies in consideration of a partnered
employee s life outside of the workplace or the exceeding obligations of a person with parental
responsibilities (Casper DePaulo, 2012, p. 232). Family friendly policies could include a flexible
work schedule with the option to telecommute some days, or extra time off to care for an ill partner

3. How Does Hagar Affect Margaret s Life
Margaret s works often reflected her real life experiences, although changed and dramatized.
This was clearly apparent in the themes of the book. Things such as struggles with control,
pride, and feminism. I will be analyzing how these themes were influenced by Margaret s life,
time period in which the book was written, and how this would have influenced the book. The
two people we are going to be focused on are Hagar and Margaret herself. Hargar is the main
character and protagonist of the story and Margaret is,obviously, the author. Since the book is
based on Margaret s experiences, Hagar would represent Margaret in the story. Considering the
fact, that Margaret will have bias towards Hagar, I will also be analyzing how Margaret s point of...

Firstly, most males in the book are portrayed as the antagonist, from Hagar s perspective. But,
when you are such a prideful person, like Hagar, anyone who tries to maim you would be
perceived as evil . However, since she was perceived so egotistically it damages the reliability of
her claims. Such as she mistook her father s actions as cruelty who s to say she didn t do the
same to other antagonist(s) . Additionally, Hagar was very inconsiderate to the other characters.
She also wouldn t take responsibility when she was in the wrong. It is especially damaging, to
her reliability, considering how scenarios in the story were Margaret s edited version of her real
life experiences. Margaret could have easily changed the antagonist s actions to be perceived as
the bad guy when in reality she could just as equally been at

4. Billy Beane And Moneyball
Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game, by Michael Lewis is a book that discusses
how the Oakland Athletics became a baseball powerhouse despite having one of the smallest
budgets. The man who is the architect of this franchise is Billy Beane, an ex player turned
general manager. Beane was a player who had all of the physical tools old school scouts look
for, however he turned out to be a disappointment; instead of falling into the trap other general
managers fell into, he looked for a competitive edge, a new market inefficiency. He was not afraid
to go against the norm, he made a team with the second smallest budget into a powerhouse, and he
inspired an entire new era of successful general managers, as well as impacting people in other...

One of the most notable executives inspired by Beane is Theo Epstein, a Yale graduate who
talked with Beane as much as possible when he was the assistant general manager in the Red Sox
franchise and due to his frequent conversations with Beane, Epstein becomes obsessed with high
on base percentage players, such as Kevin Youkilis (Lewis 211). Inspired by Billy Beane, Theo
Epstein leads the Boston Red Sox to two World Series titles in nine years, placing a heavy
emphasis on on base percentage; The Red Sox never placed below second in annual on base
percentage during Epstein s tenure as general manager, and now Epstein is recreating the same
philosophy in Chicago (ESPN). Another baseball general manager who was tremendously
influenced by Billy Beane was Andrew Friedman; facing a tight budget in Tampa Bay much like
Beane in Oakland, he drafted many college players and he led a mediocre franchise to four
playoff appearances through following Billy Beane s philosophy (Vice Sports). The Pittsburgh
Pirates and their general manager, Neal Huntington have taken Beane s philosophy to a whole
different level; he hired people out of Ivy League schools just like Beane, however Huntington
hired many more specific analysts. Huntington hired Baseball Prospectus s Dan Fox to build the
structure of their proprietary database, while also being an analyst for the Pirates, also Mike
Fitzgerald was hired as an analyst who even traveled with the team on the road; over the years
the Pirates analytical team built a relationship with the players and the coaching staff, to the
point where the analytical group became a key part of the team, even more so than the Oakland A s
and Billy Beane (Sloan Sports Conference). Billy Beane s impact has spread even beyond baseball;
it has spread to soccer, american football, and basketball, one example of a soccer team following

5. Zionism Essay examples
Zionism
In the years just after World War II, Zionism (the desire to rebuild a Jewish national presence in
the Promised Land) became a popular Jewish cause all around the world. Many Jews who were
not practicing Judaism at all with religion became involved with the establishment of the State of
Israel. Even today, many years after the successful founding of the State of Israel, there are Jews
whose only real tie to Judaism is their belief in Zionism and their support for the State of Israel.
They are joined by many Jews who are members of synagogues and support a modern Jewish
religious movement, but who also find their prime identity as Jews in the Zionist cause.
Broadly speaking, Zionists are proud that a small and struggling state ... Show more content on

Or they may be agnostics, unsure of whether or not God exists. Among religions, Judaism is
somewhat unique in that it makes room for both atheists and agnostics to remain Jewish. It is
often pointed out that there is no positive commandment in the Torah requiring a Jew to believe
in God. When it comes to belief, the Torah commands that Jews adhere to the laws of the
covenant, which means that idolatry (the belief in many gods) is forbidden. But a person can
theoretically live an exemplary Jewish life without a belief in God. Moreover, connection with
the Jewish people is determined by birth, not by belief. If a person is born a Jew (or converts to
Judaism), he or she is identified as a Jew. There is no question about this. Even the most religious
Jew accepts birth (or conversion) as the only criteria for membership in the Jewish people.
ORTHODOX JUDAISM
Religious Jews today disagree on what Judaism is and what it should be. Orthodox Jews claim to
hold the true religion of Judaism. In fact, Orthodoxy only began to organize and solidify its beliefs
in the nineteenth century, in direct response to the Reform movement. To this day, there is less
agreement among Orthodox Jews about what being Orthodox means especially about how
particular laws should be followed than there is disagreement in any of the other modern
movements. So, for example, the State of Israel has two chief rabbis to serve the Orthodox one of

Arcangelo Corelli, also known as Father of Concerto Grosso , was an Italian composer, violinist,
and teacher. Corelli was born in Fusignano, Italy on February 17, 1653 where he studied
composing music until the late 1670 s. Corelli s musical talents led him to enter the service of
Queen Christina of Sweden, Franceso II, Cardinal Pamphili, Cardinal Ottoboni, who was Pope
Alexander VIII, and as the court musician for the Prince of Bavaria. Corelli composed and

Corelli also used this concept in his teachings; especially to such composers like Francesco
Geminiani and Pietro Locatelli. Other composers such as Antonio Vivaldi and Bach studied
Corelli s compositions. Towards the end of his life, Corelli toured all over Europe and gained
popularity. Corelli died a famous and rich man on January 19, 1713. His compositions eventually
gave him the name Father of Concerto Grosso . The composition I chose from Corelli s works is
his Christmas Concerto, Concerto Grosso Opus 6, that made Corelli the prime of his time. Corelli s
composition consists of a small group of solo instruments against a larger group of instruments. This
creates the terrace dynamics in the composition. The beginning of the composition starts out with
the two violins playing on different beats slow. The slow tempo makes the conjunct melody have a
smooth and pleasing texture. Then the melody jumps to an allegro tempo that is fast paced and
intense. The composition s tempo has a slow fast slow movement throughout the whole piece. The
fugal style contains stressed rhythms and vocal delays are a perfect example of his built concept of

her shadow at a tribal dance, and I have seen her, pensive and inviolable, her clothes clinging to
her wet body, beside a tank in Benares .Yes this woman keeps crossing my dreams causing in me
a fearful disturbance, the full meaning of which I have yet to understand. (p.93) This vague
image is later concretized in the form of Bilasia, the Bhil woman whom he finds an ideal
combination of Otherness and the Self. Bilasia s exotic Otherness is clearly seen in her untamed
beauty , her promiscuity and her obvious difference from the respectable wife, Meena. Yet, how
is Bilasia an ideal other for Billy Biswas, the upper class Hindu? Perhaps this may be explained by
the way tribals have generally been viewed as peripheral communities within the dominant Hindu
fold. So while recognizing the tribal Otherness, the Hindu view also makes them accessible.
Moreover, Bilasia has beauty albeit an untamed one and she belongs to the Bhil community, which
has traditionally been seen as possessing many Rajput qualities, like valour, nobility etc.
Incidentally, one may compare the account of Billy s life with that of Verrier Elwin, an Englishman
who came to India as a Christian missionary in 1927. A few years later, varrier Elwin voluntarily
gave up his ministry and decided to devote himself to the tribal people of India. He started living in

Symbolism can help express a strong point or message. In the book, Persepolis, symbolism is
shown throughout the story with certain images and phrases. Symbolism doesn t always have to
do with the words or phrases, rather the panels. For example, on page 29, the father is shown
taking pictures but it has no lines around the panel. This symbolizes time, it shows that there wasn t
a specific time he was taking the pictures, he was just snapping them over a long period of time.
Symbolism is very important in a story because it can help send a message that can t be taught
through the use of words. It is also important because it helps the reader understand the scenario and

In the graphic novel, the veil represents religion and restriction. In 1979, bilingual schools were

inner self, forcing her to choose between two beliefs. The veil acted as a symbol of the cultural
revolution, and it affected her everyday schooling. The veil incorporated religion in her
everyday life and it influenced the way she acted. On one panel, Marji explains, Everywhere in
the streets there were demonstrations for and against the veil (Satrapi 5). This quote shows that
the veil also created an imaginary line separating the two people. The symbol of the veil was
very effective because it helped the author explain the restrictions on freedom, and the imaginary
line between the two types of people. The veil also represents some sort of restriction, for
example, We found ourselves veiled and separated from our friends (Satrapi 4). This quote shows
that the kids were separated and handcuffed . The veil in this scenario represents the restriction
from being free. Overall, the veil played a huge part in Marji s life and effectively helped explain
some messages the author was trying to get

City Works Depot which is owned by Tournament Parking, originally known as the Auckland City
council Workshops or The Nelson Street Workshops is a spacious, architecturally designed and
refurbished structure that was designed by Ewen Wainscott a passionate man who later became
Auckland s chief city architect for a period of 37 years (1967 1985.)
It has a history spanning 50 years and shows a great hope of continuity. The old structure was
used by the city Council up until Mid April. It was later refurbished by Nat Cheshire of Cheshire
Architects who helped to preserve the depot s amazing history embracing the raw materials; steel,
concrete, and glass and robust timbers. It houses a range of businesses such as; Food Truck Garage,
Dry and Tea, Three beans coffee roasters, Brothers brewery, Advertising agencies, Bauer Media
offices, Paking among others. In the present two incredible and very unique opportunities remain to

The shot shows a male figure viewing photographs. We see the person from the rear, look over
his shoulder, past him, as he passes along the collection of images, and at the same time we look
into some of the faces that are visible in the photos and which seem to be looking at us outside of
the picture frame rather than at the person in the picture viewing them. We are dealing here with
black and white photographs from the late 1920s, which, among others, were taken by the German
anthropologist and racial theorist Egon von Eickstedt between 1926 and 1929.1 A selection of these
pictures, created in connection with research into the indigenous population of India listed under
the generic term Adivasiand this should be stressed first without explicit reference to the
problematic race theory based history of its origins, was brought back to India in 2012.
Accompanied by a team of ethnologists from Germany and England, the photographs were
exhibited in Tejgadh, in the state of Gujarat in northwest India, in different locations: in the still
young Museumof Voice of the Adivasi Academy, in individual private houses in the neighbouring
villages and in a consecrated place in the open air, reserved for rituals. This latter mentioned setting
has been recorded in the above mentioned photo. Mounted on brown card, the photographs hang in

3.12) According to first amendment every person has a right to express their feelings. Considering
the first amendment, library staff has right to complaint against the library committee to Federal
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as they were held up with hostile environment.
Library is a public place where various categories of people come to improve their knowledge with
available libraryresources in a peaceful environment. It is very important for library team to take
proper precautions as children of age below eighteen also visit public libraries.
If the libraries don t have filters and limitations on usage of internet access the library resources can
be misused. So, these kinds of conflicts can be avoided by taking proper precautions and safety
measures. Libraries should have filters so that whenever anyone is trying to access unusual sites
in public place it can directly block the site. The systems should be placed in such a way that
library staff can monitor what people are trying to access and if they notice any unwanted stuff is
displayed on screens they can directly block such kind of users. Library printers should not be
accessible by public people. If anyone wants a printout they need to send document to library staff
and only staff system can print documents. In this way library staff will have access to documents
and they can avoid if anyone wants to print unwanted stuff.

15. Examples Of Altruism In I Am Legend
Even though selflessness will always be driven by serving one s values, feelings, or desires which
is ultimately serving you, altruism does exist. Altruism exists when it requires a person to sacrifice
for another without consideration of personal gain because not every act has a selfish motive.
People must learn to contribute to life through objective reality because it universalizes existence.
Everyday life is filled with small acts of altruism. Or maybe altruism does involve being self
interested after all. Some of the things that one does do not always mean they are selfish. Let s
use the movie, I am Legend starring Will Smith as an example. Robert Neville (Will Smith) lives in

To be honest, I know my essay is crap. I completely suck at philosophy and I don t know many
things. But I do know that being altruistic means also being selfish. Third world countries
probably view America as an altruistic hero because they basically help fight wars for other
people. But as Arundhati Roy said, Wars are never fought for altruistic reasons. Yes, soldiers do
sacrifice their lives fighting, but it s not (mostly) because they are altruistic, but because it s
their way of paying rent . The definition of altruism is the belief in or practice of disinterested and
selfless concern for the well being of others. But think about it, while helping others, don t you
also help yourself? Like you can say, hey I am going to help at a homeless shelter because I feel
altruistic today. A part of you is lying to yourself; you are going to a homeless shelter because
yes, you feel like helping others, but you are also helping yourself feel good, which is an act of
being self interested. The reason why people help others is because it makes them feel good. It
can vary anything from relieving stress to feeling guilty for something so they do something nice,
like help others, which makes them believe they have a higher chance of going to heaven. Other
people help others to be seen as a hero although none of these examples are true definition of the
existence of

Solution Proposing a balanced scorecard Balanced scorecard is a set of measures, which give the
complete view of any business performance. Kaplan and Norton (1995) explained balanced
scorecard in following words: The balanced scorecard should translate a business unit s mission and
strategy into tangible objectives and measures. The measures represent a balance between external
measures for shareholders and customers and internal measures of critical business processes,
innovation and learning and growth. The measures are balance between outcome measures, the
results of past efforts, and the measures that drive future performance. And the scorecard is
balanced between objective, easily quantified outcome measures and subjective, somewhat

you need to estimate how much food or a meal plan, rent or dorm boarding, textbooks, school

Students have many options for paying for college one being getting a student loan. There are two
types of loans that students can get a Federal and Private student loan. The Department of Education

Graduate students may borrow up to $28,500 in federal loans. That loan is considered unsubsidized,
which means students must pay interest while in school.

22. The Ethics Of Living Jim Crow Stylistic Devices
In The Ethics of Living Jim Crow by Richard Wright, various stylistic devices and rhetorical
strategies are used such as symbolism, and colloquial language. The use of Wright s symbolism
of the green growing things establishes how African Americans were disadvantaged in their
upcoming. In this, the white boys which lived beyond the tracks were able to hide behind trees,
hedges, and the sloping embankments of their lawns. The symbolism of these green things,
displays how white people had an upper advantage in society, having luxurious lives to hide
behind. Meanwhile, Wright remarked I didn t have any trees or hedges to hide behind displaying
how African Americans were not protected, leaving them easily discriminated against and futile
against attack. In this, Wright remarks that the green things grew into an overarching symbol of
fear. Furthermore, the use of colloquial language by white people displayed how they had the
freedom to say what they pleased, whereas Wright had to talk formally to white people using
phrases such as Yes, sir , and No, sir, Mr. Pease. Additionally, Wright had to question every word
he said, in an attempt to not to offend a white man, describing how To have said: Thank you!
would have made the white man think that you thought you were receiving from him a personal
service. For such an act I have seen Negroes take a blow in the mouth. Together, these stylistic
choices affect the tone and meaning of the work as they display the unjust

23. What Is Auschwitz Concentration Camp
Auschwitz
Over 1 million jews were killed at the Auschwitz concentration camp. Jews were taken from their
homes and put into concentration camps against their will. The most famous of them was
Auschwitz. This concentration camp was by far the largest and had the biggest effect on the Jewish
Race.
Auschwitz was located in the suburbs of an abandoned city. The camp was originally a detention
center for political prisoners. But, the camp would soon be the biggest concentration camp in
history. Almost 1.25 million people that were deported to the camp would be killed.
The commanders of Auschwitz were Lieutenant Colonel Rudolf Huess and Colonel Arthur
Liebchenzel. They divided the camp into three different parts. The main camp, Birkenau, and the
third Manowitz. Most of the jews in the concentration camps were put in gas chambers, enslaved,
or sometimes died of starvation. Some of the prisoners weren t at the camps for very long if they

24. Essay on Cultural Impact of the Railway of Victorian England
Introduction
At the beginning of the industrial revolution in England during the mid nineteenth century, the
railroad was the most innovative mode of transportation known. The British Rail system was a
forerunner in railroad technology, uses, and underground engineering. Though the rail system was
extremely slow at first and prohibitively expensive to build and run, the British were not to be
dissuaded in their pursuit of non animal driven transportation. The most advanced mode of
transportation prior to the introduction of the rail system was the horse drawn omnibus on a track,
called a tram. This paper will examine the rail system from a cultural perspective, presenting the
impact the railway had on everyday lives in Victorian London ... Show more content on

Some samples of letters, also taken from Jack Simmons book, exemplify the drama of riding the
railroad:
You skim along like magic. We drove to the railway office at Warrington a short mile from the
town where we took our seats in a machine; for it was one continued machine although having the
appearance of 3 regular coaches and three divisions of seats like those in a coffee room the
coaches not open at the top the seats were. (Simmons 21)
Another writer(1) quoted in Simmons wrote, On my return to Chester I visited Liverpool [in
1836] and traveled from thence, for curiosity, a few miles towards Manchester on that then novel
mode of conveyance, a railroad. (Simmons 23) As fascinated as the public was with the
railroad, it was also exasperated by the poor service, (train arrival times were never announced
and there were accidents quite often), and the cost of riding. The train departure times were
announced, but the arrival times were never specified. To travel the length of 31 miles, the trip
would take 1 3/4 hours. This rate of travel was not a vast improvement from the 3 1/2 mile per
hour train trip of the first railway. Also, trains did not run between 9:00 am and 1:00 PM on
Sundays out of respect for religious services.
During the time Dombey and Son takes place, railway mania was sweeping England. There were
numerous Parliamentary acts passed to regulate the new booming industry. To get a clear picture of

25. Literary Elements Used In The Curse Of The Poisoned...
Authors are often sneaky about their writing. Writers have a story to tell, but exactly how they tell
it depends upon the actual contents of the tale. If the narrative is written outright, it can be tedious
to read. Both the writer and the readers tire quickly if the story gives all of the information, and
leaves nothing to be figured out by the reader. To avoid boredom, many writers will change up the
format of the story and include multiple literary elements to make it more interesting. This applies
to Paul Haven s story, The Curseof the Poisoned Pretzel. If he had simply stated that Skidmore
had killed Manchester, then the there would be no suspense for the reader. The lack of
information makes the story far more intriguing. To accomplish his task, Haven uses common
literary elements to his benefit. Thus, in The Curse of the Poisoned Pretzel by Paul Haven, the
reader believes Skidmore to be the killer of Manchester because of his characterization, the curse
of the pretzel, and the foreshadowing used in the excerpt. To begin, The author characterizes
Skidmore in such a way that the reader automatically assumes him to be guilty. Skidmore is
described to be evil. In The Curse of the Poisoned Pretzel, it states, He gave everyone the creeps,
suggesting that other characters were wary of him and that Skidmore killed Manchester without it
being directly stated by the author (Haven). This makes readers suspicious, and causes them to
think that Skidmore is really

has an extremely negative impact on many animals. Water polluted with different chemicals can
cause a decline of population in some species; On the other hand water polluted with nutrients can
lead to huge growth of toxic algae which when eaten by other animals may cause serious diseases
and death to these animals. Persistent organic pollutants contains the growth of fish and wipe out
their breed. Chemical runoff from farms run into oceans, seas, lakes and rivers. Littering can also
lead to death of many animals because of toxic substances in trash, such as oil, plastic, detergents
and pesticides (How PollutionAffect Animals). Oil spills affect marine animals and sea birds.
The oil makes the water harder to swim through, making the animals exhausted, and also making
it harder for it to breathe (Levete 12). Oil spills damages the growth of sea birds (Effects of
Pollution on People...). Animals can also die by getting themselves entangled in one of the many
litter items dumped in the water. Plastic waste can cause dangers to animals. Around one hundred
million tons of plastic is produced each year, ten percent ends up in the sea. A million sea birds
and mammals are killed each year by plastic waste (5 Ways Water Pollution is Killing Animals).
Plastic bags are killing the animals in the water. The bags can suffocate or choke the animal, by

An Analysis of Frost s Mending Wall Mending Wall written by Robert Frost seems to take place in
a countryside estate. The speaker and his neighbor are fixing a wall together, which separates their
properties. Mending Wall is a poem that describes the relationship between two neighbors and
idea of maintaining barriers. This poem reflects how people make physical barriers and emotional
barriers. A barrier is an object that keeps something in or the unwanted out. The speaker wants to
know why these barriers are up. If we make a psycho analysis of the speaker through the present
poem, we came to the conclusion that the neighbour is no one but the inner self of the speaker
(Srivastava 257). This wall is nothing, but the gap between human beings on various aspects
culturally, economically, and socially (Srivastava 257). The wallis a basis for the many differences
that people in our society have. Throughout this poem, we see the speaker struggle to find a reason
for having a wall that is separating him from the neighbor. The speaker is valuing innovation over
tradition. Although, the speaker is also a man of tradition he is trying to rebel against the norms
that frustrates him. The speaker does not want a relationship with his neighbor. In line 1, Frost
begins by saying Something there is that doesn t love a wall . Frost seems to refer to something as
anything in this world from humans to nature. This

29. Biological Branches Of The Complex Study Of Life
ABSTRACT Throughout history, there have been many studies conducted regarding different
biological branches of the complex study of life. Amylase, an enzyme that catabolizes starch
polymers, is one of the most important enzymes needed for the production of certain foods, such as
syrups, and different processes such as fermentation. Like everything s biological nature, these
certain enzymes are affected by different factors ranging from pH levels to temperature. Finding out
the temperature at which these enzymes reach their optimal condition (conditions at which these
enzymes work the best), is one of the most revealing studies of all. In this experiment, the affect that
temperature has on the enzymatic activity of Amylasewas the leading role, whether it was to
determine if it was slowing it down or speeding it up. For both experiments, iodine was used as the
control. First, the optimal temperatures of fungal Amylase were tested. For this particular task,
there was not too much changed noticed. For most of the temperatures, the activity change seen
was very minimal. With iodine and starchby itself, the activity remained the same as well as with
the amylase at the 85 degrees test. When testing for the bacterial Amylase, the most change was
seen at the 55 degrees test. Overall, it can be said that as temperature rises or decreases, enzymatic
activity is affected, but of course with a certain plateau.

Using the forearm as a strike is a great weapon; such as striking the head, the neck and the dead

breaking of the opponents arm. For a strong block, one is advised to practice the five star basic

Hunger is not limited to someone merely wanting a midnight snack. It s the pain experienced when

She reiterates the fact quite a bit through the duration of the story. The Misfit compares himself to
Jesus. As The Misfit previously stated in the story, when he was growing up he was the type of
child who had to know everything and exactly how it functioned and worked. He says that
because he can not know whether Jesus did what people claim for him has made him (the Misfit)
like he is. The desire of the Misfit to know everything and his inability to confirm or deny Jesus
story has created an intractable dilemma that consumes him (Woodiwis).
In the religious drama within the story, the Misfit acts as both Christ and anti Christ figure. He
compares himself to Christ, saying, It was the same case with Him as me, except He hadn t
committed any crime and they could prove I had committed one because they had the papers on

really only two alternatives in life: belief and disbelief. Inattention and indifference to faith, the
position held by most of the characters in A Good Man Is Hard to Findand many in O Connor s
other stories, are unacceptable and ultimately untenable responses. There can be no question,
however, of O Connor s intent. The Misfit and his gun create a moment of redemption for the

Representing oneself as a lawyer in court is known as self representation or self litigation. This
practice is not advised as it can lead to more problems than advantages for the accused.
Disadvantages may include unfair treatment in the court of law, misunderstanding due to minimal
or no legal background, and a greater possibility that the court system will suffer in the process. It
is important to be aware that most individuals who decide to participate in this practice do this out
of great desperation and lack of money (Grant, 2015). This creates panic and uneasiness which
reflects how they portray themselves in the courtroom. For this reason, advocating should be strictly

This is greatly due to the fact that this is cost free for the accused. This may seem like an
advantage at first, but in the end it is definitely not. When litigants choose to represent themselves
in the court of law they are given a great amount of responsibility. They are expected to manage
their time wisely, so that they have enough time to understand the law, interpret it, and organize it
into an effective and efficient way that fits their case (Feldstein, 2016, p.9). All legal documents
and important information relevant to the case must be brought forth in order to achieve the
desired outcome. If they do not understand the material, bring insignificant information and
evidence to court then this becomes an enormous disadvantage to them and to the entire court
process. In regards to the court process, there is a large amount of money that is distributed
between court clerks, court reporters, judges, and courtrooms in general (Makin, 2012). Thus, if
self representatives do not come prepared to court, this wastes a lot of time and money for
everyone involved. This practice creates an immense amount of tension that would not happen if a
lawyer was in charge. Self litigation places a great burden on not only the court system,

Resettlement policy and practices can be analyzed by different context and perspective. In the

Capps, R., Newland, K. (2015) have discussed that refugee resettlement policy in a different host

post migration issue is different. In this seminal work the author has discussed the increasing

countless spaces to this day do not function properly because every person who enters it cannot

people with difficulties of mobility, vision, hearing, or dexterity. This exclusion or added
difficulty means the design has failed. As we have continued to learn about human factors with a

the Assisted Living Centre was an accessible two level reception desk. This design can and

people to either be served standing, or served in a wheelchair. It also ensures children to be seen

In China, corruption is so apparent that often people are disincentivized to owning businesses
because permits and consultants cost too much and require bribes. Yet, bribes can cost the economy
big money because essentially the corrupt businessmen are taking the money away from public
services (111). The issues coming up in the future are that the governments that are corrupt might
have negative impacts on other global economies and spread the norm of corruption. Yet, both
countries do show the will to purify the Party which includes newly implemented rules against
gluttony, adultery, and even playing golf under the leadership of Wang Qishan (113). In China a
bigger issue is also the fact that the public is becoming increasingly involved in corruption
scandals. Officials worry people will get carried away with excessive accusations (115). More
issues stem from the type of political system that China has; they employ a nominal legal system
that runs at the discretion of the Party leadership so this means that whoever is in power can

My challenge to you is to:
1. Self examine Yourself. Reflect on your ministry and calling. Ask yourself, why do I do what I

42. German Soldiers Fought The Fuhrer s Ideological War
German soldiers fought the FГјhrer s ideological war. Hitler wanted the German race to take over
the world. Heinrich Bölls book, And Where Were You, Adam?, describes several soldiers and their
lives at the end of World War II. In the chaos of war, they found various reasons to capitulate with
the Holocaust and other atrocities, but at the same time, tried to find some normalcy and sanity in
an insane situation. Just as other warriors in other wars, they were humans who found themselves
in an inhuman situation. They were concerned with the defense of their homeland, family, and
future. They were not monsters, but men serving under monstrous leaders and nefarious conditions.
Germans foot soldiers went to war for several reasons such as German pride, honor, and love of the
fatherland. Personal recognition and medals were important to many. The fever of a new and
stronger Germanyswept up the soldiers and it was their duty to serve the Reich. They took an oath
of allegiance to Hitler (Spielvogel 118). Nazis indoctrinated new recruits with their philosophy.
Soldiers did not realize the wickedness that lay ahead. Once in the midst of war, however, Germans
became disillusioned and frightened. Some thought of home and loved ones while other worried
their link to past war crimes and rule violations. Many soldiers waited for the inevitable surrender
and others committed suicide. The war took the lives of many brave Germans without the

43. U.s. And Ireland Government Essay
U.S. and Ireland Government The overall organization of the U.S. and Irish government has a lot
of similarities but also has its differences. Ireland is known to be a parliamentary democracy and
has 3 branches of government, which are the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary branch. The
United States is similar in the way that they also have three branches of government which are the
Executive, Legislative and Judicial branch and has a democracy. The constitution was the
foundation for the U.S government just like it was for the Irish government and how they govern
their country. In Ireland there are many political parties while in the U.S. there are mainly only two.
The Irish constitution applies to the 32 counties in Ireland but in the United Statesit refers to the 50
states. In Ireland their common law system is based on the English model and in the United
States it s based on the English common law. The United States and Irish government has many
legislative powers in common, but the difference would be between the offices. In the United
States the Legislative Branch consists of the congress which is made up of two houses. The vice
president plays a role in one of the houses which is the Senate. The Senate is based on equal
representation, which allows 2 senators to be elected from each state, making it a total of 100
Senators. The other house which is The House of Representatives is based on population meaning

44. Fahrenheit 451 Mask Analysis
On the center of my art project is a mask. The mask is an a larger burn up photo of Clarisse
McMellan s things in her room. In that photo is a mask referencing the same mask that Montag
referred to as his happiness after he thought about Clarisse s question Are you happy? (Bradbury,
Ray 10) . Montag truly thinks about this question later after he goes into his bedroom ready to go
to bed. He thinks about the question and comes up with an answer, He was not happy... He wore
his happinesslike a mask and the girl [Clarisse] had run off across the lawn with the mask and there
was no way of getting it back (12). So in this painting I thoughtabout the mask that Clarisse had
that belonged to Montag, I painted a mask with a huge grin symbolizing Montag s happiness. He
was searching for answers and knowledge, for clarity, And I gave my heart to seek and search out
by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to
the sons of man to be exercised therewith (King James Bible Ecclesiastes 1 13). Searching for all
the meanings of things and knowledge is what eventually gave him happiness.

46. Critical Analysis on Edwidge Danticat s A Wall of Fire Rising
A Wall of Fire Rising , short story written by Edwidge Danticat, presents one man s desire for the
freedom and also, the gap between reality and fantasy which is created by the desire. Two
different perspectives of evaluating the life bring the conflict between the Guy and Lili who are
parents to the little guy. Throughout the story, the Guy implies that he wants to do something
that people will remind of him, but Lili who is opposing to the Guy, tries to settle the Guy down
and keep up with the normal life that they are belong to. The Guy is aggressive, adventurous and
reckless while Lili is realistic and responsible. The wall of fire is the metaphorical expression of the

that we may either live freely or we should die. (Danticat 150) The guy wiped his tear after he

Lili answers His heart hurts, (155) Because of the guy feels pity on himself, he considers his
own life as if it is meant for nothing. He does not want to continue with his boring life but, he
desires some excitement or magnificent changes to get involved in his life. To put this simply,
he wants to live freely, the guy has too much burdens on his shoulders, such as he is the one who
need to sacrifice his life to maintain the ordinary life of the family. It was now easier for him to
imagine their son s lips around those breasts than to imagine his anywhere near them. (90) This
phrase implies that the Guy does not feel Lili as a woman but more like little guy s mother. It also
foreshadows that there is not much things that would hold the Guy to stay in the ordinary life.
While the little guy s line from the play ignites the Guy s decision, the hot air balloon is the method
of practicing his dream. The Guy keeps telling his wife that he knows how the balloon flies and it

Freddie Mac Fraud The definition of fraud is an intentional deception or deceit, perpetrated for
profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage (dictionary.com). Fraud is a breach of law and
can be punishable by law. Mortgage fraud is one of the financial crimes where a company materially
misrepresents or omits information on its mortgage loan documentation in order to secure a loan
larger than what is actually required for the business. It could be perpetrated by one or more
participants, including the borrower, real estate agent, loan officer, appraiser or multiple related
parties. Fraud not only destroys a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Loan level misrepresentation might include fabricated employment, income, or asset documents.
Consumer and mortgage debts might not be disclosed on the application. The sources of funding
might also be misrepresented. Usually, the recorded owner should always be the same as the
person on the contract, who sells the property, title documents and appraisal when conducting a
purchase. If the person who sells the property or the person who borrows is not the same as the
owner on record, the loan needs to be reinvestigated to ensure the legitimacy of the transaction.
Identify theft is generally used when dealing with impersonal real estate agent, loan officers and
appraisers (Freddie Mac, 2012).
There are numerous types of fraud, such as builder bailout schemes, condominium conversion
bailout schemes, property flips and multi lien frauds. The builder bailout scheme occurs when the
sales speed in the market is slowing down while the builders and developers want to transfer
property quickly. Condominium conversion bailout schemes occur when the builders and
developers want to transfer units quickly and there is a depression on the real estate market.
Property flips happen when certain properties have changed ownership numerous times in a short
period of time. It becomes illegal when a property is purchased and resold frequently at an
artificially inflated value. Multi lien fraud occurs when multiple loans for the same house are
secured

[Name of the institution] Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce

The principle issue that emerged in the chamber of commerce was identified with issues

In our Western society, we have several different types of eating dysfunction, all of which are
unique and tragic in their own right. Despite their individuality, however, they all have several
overlapping symptoms that are key to their classification and severity. For Bulimia Nervosa (BN)
and Binge Eating Disorder (BED), one of the core features is bingeeating, which can be defined
objectively by number of calories eaten in a given time or subjectively by the feelings of the
binger. Binge eating has many different aspects that are of interest to scientists and clinicians alike.
One of those interests has to do with the reduction of this symptom among populations being treated

Therapies used.
Interpersonal therapy (IPT) is a derivative of therapy designed for depressed individuals, which
originated from the New Haven Boston Collaborative Depression Project (Fairburn et al 1993). It
borrows from the psychodynamic school of psychology, but concentrates on interpersonal
functioning and involves three steps: 1) the first is an intensive analysis of the interpersonal context
which the disorder develops and is maintained 2) the second involves addressing the interpersonal
problems and contracting with the patients to work on these problems 3) the third deconstructs
feelings about termination of therapy, reviews progress and outlines future work (Fairburn et al.
1993).
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is currently the most commonly used type of psychotherapy
(Peterson Mitchell 1999). It is based on the cognitive view of bulimia nervosa, which weighs
attitudes towards shape and weight as most significant for maintenance of the disorder. Therapy
actually includes a combination of behavioral and cognitive directives aimed at changing patterns
of behavior, attitudes of shape and weight, and cognitive distortions such as low self esteem
(Fairburn et al. 1993).
Behavioral therapy (BT) is similar to CBT but concentrates on behavioral procedures used to
normalize eating habits. The major features are regaining control over eating, establishing a regular

51. Analysis Of Wonder Woman
At First the World didn t Deserve Wonder Woman
When we think about the genre that is Superheroes, there are many names that come to mind
Superman, Thor, Batman, and Ironman to name a few. That the superhero world is a boy s club,
were the focus is on them saving the world and while there are women in the genre they have not
been the focus, but recently that changed with the release of Wonder Woman. Given the recent
political issues and what many feels is an attack on the female form, Wonder Woman was a bright
light for not only for women and little girls alike, but for the superhero genre as well. Wonder
Woman is the ideal of girl power and strength. She is as strong and courageous as any man; thus,
she has earned the respect of both females and males around the world.
We were first introduced to Wonder Woman during World War II, by William Moulton Marston, a
Harvard trained psychologist and lawyer. When we start with the obvious that being that Wonder
Woman was the first major superhero filmwith a woman as the lead, something that many felt
would never be successful, but with $103.1 million made on opening weekend and an entire
gross of $409 million , this film was wildly successful, and included with that success it was also
the biggest opening ever for a female director . Many people however would argue that Catwoman
that starred Halle Berry was the first female superhero movie, but they would be remiss to learn that
Catwoman was never considered a superhero, but in

52. Communication In Nursing
Every day I encounter various situations that put my values and beliefs at risk. Reflecting on my
experiences, is a journey I take to restoration while living in my truth. The scenario I recount in this
reflection is a life lesson that has helped me personally and professionally.
Topic and description of the scenario
Communication is arguably the most important skill I will use over the course of my future
nursing career. It is not enough to critically evaluate a disease process, but the psyche of the patient
and family must be considered regularly. To adequately assess any situation and ensure a more
positive experience, effective communication lines must be established.
On the first day of my pediatric clinical rotation, I was assigned to an eighteen day old newborn
girl (J.L.) diagnosed with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) contracted during her hospital stay.
Due to her condition, she had been moved to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to decrease

This scenario provides an example for most of my values, but communication is the most apparent.
As a professional, I will be called on to communicate with my patients, their families, and inter
professionally. Knowing most of my values presently and as a future nurse rely on my ability to
effectively communicate, I attempt to refine my skills with each opportunity. As a witness to this
issue, it is my belief that quality communication and empathy are not practiced by all health care
professionals. Regardless of this experience, I continue to believe my values are directly linked to
better patient outcome. I am no longer jaded and know that despite the length of time in practice
and experience there will be short comings. Unfortunately, patient centered and family care are the

54. Subjective Expectation Of Privacy In The Fourth Amendment
III.THE HANDGUN AND MAGAZINE SEIZED IN THE APARTMENT SHOULD BE
SUPPRESSED BECAUSE THEY WERE OBTAINED UNJUSTIFIABLY WITHOUT A
WARRANT AND AS A RESULT OF AN ILLEGAL SEARCH The defendant or proponent of a
motion to suppress has the burden of establishing that his own Fourth Amendment rights were
violated by the challenged search or seizure. (Rakas v. Illinois (1978) 439 U.S. 128, 131.) In
other words, the Fourth Amendment depends on the property rights were violated because the
person is claiming that they had a reasonable expectation of privacy in the invaded place. (Rakas
v. Illinois, supra, 439 U.S. at p.143.) In order to prove that the defendant has standing to challenge
the validity of a search, the defendant must show that there is an actual subjective expectation of
privacy and that the subjective expectation of privacy is one that the society recognizes as
reasonable. (Smith v. Maryland (1979) 442 U.S. 735, 740.) Additionally, under the Fourth
Amendment, all warrantless searches are per se unreasonable unless there is a warrantless
exception then officers need a warrant to conduct a search and seizure of a person s home. (U.S.
Const. amend. IV.) (A)Mr. Meyers has Standing to Challenge the Search and Seizure of the

where he has his Personal Belongings in. In Olson, the Supreme Court held that an overnight guest
