3. Front cover
For my masthead I kept the brand identity going
through out with reusing it on the contents
page. The font style is serif to keep my genre
going throughout as it is for a sophisticated
audience, it gives that feel about it. It is called
‘RAW’ as I feel it is catchy and short to be
memorable for the audience. It also has
relevance from the saying ‘raw talent’ and the
setting on the camera in which I took my
images
4. Colour scheme
I made my front cover’s colour scheme to be
matching other music magazines, for
example, Q music magazine. I used
red, black, white and grey as they attract the
audience from being bold and standing out
well. I did not want to use to bright colours
because I thought that might make my
magazine look like it is of a younger target
audience.
5. Cover Lines
I used the cover lines to attract attention of my
reader to be interested in the articles featured
inside the magazine. For the key cover line, I
placed it central over the image so it was
obvious that it anchored the main image, I
placed it in a boarder and different font to stand
out against its coloured background and so it
looked more important in hierarchy than the
others.
6. Main Image
I used an image that looked mirrored on both
sides of three girls which is a midshot so you
could see their costumes and makeup well. The
eye contact caught the audience eye with the
sultry faces. I placed this central on my page as
it looked better and fitted well with the three of
the girls. It also fitted well with my other layers.

8. Contents
I kept brand identity going through my contents
page through my colour scheme, font and
masthead repeated on the contents page so it is
familiar to the reader because of the
consistency. I kept the featured articles that are
mentioned on my front covers the same on the
contents page with extra information
underneath the articles to keep the audience
interested.
9. images
I used a variety of images on my contents page
to keep my audience hooked and interested on
different artists to focus on. I anchored these
images so the reader is able to see what pages
they would be featured. My magazines were a
variety of shots, from close ups to mid shots.
10. Layout
I kept my layout similar to most other magazine
contents pages. I had it in a grid layout so it was
easy for the reader to understand but also
pleasing to the eye.
11.
12. Colours
I used colours that was relevant to my storyline
of being about wild animals. My theme was to
have animal prints and neutral colours on the
costumes so I echoed this on my double page
spreads. I wanted to continue my theme on
both pages, but I changed them so they
complimented my images that I used on them.
13. Pull out quotes
I used pull out quotes to break up my text but to
also interest my audience when they read the
interview. I used the best quotes from my
interview of the three artists which the reader
may read before they continue to read before
the interview which would make them want to
find out about the pull out quotes.
14. Make up and costume
The readers would be interested in the make up
as it is not the norm that they would see
everyday. I created the make up on the three
artists on their different body parts to add
variety. I did this in their parts of body that
would compliment their costume. The costumes
were fur coats then clothing with animal
patterns and neutral prints. I took lots of images
with different clothing so the reader does not
see the same clothing twice on two pages.
