There are improvements from the tension created in my opening sequence from the first
draft to the second draft. However, there is not too much developments. This is because
there is a minor change. In the first survey, 7 people felt tense and in the second survey
there were 8 people. There is only one more person who felt tense, which implies my
group and I were successful in creating tension.

There has been some changes of the understanding of the plot in my opening sequence.
After my first draft, there was an equal amount of people who did not understand the plot
and people who understood parts of it. However, if the total amount was added for these
results then the people who understood the plot is higher.
On the other hand, after the second survey there was a decrease by one in the number of
people who understood the plot and an increase by one in the number of people who did
not understand the plot. This shows that the changes we made after the first draft made the
audience confused.

Two of the three questions were positive. The
forth question (second image on the previous
slide) was helpful but showed the effects we
used were not good. From this, I added and
changed some of the effects. The audience
thought the effects were weak at the ending.
The majority of the people we asked thought
the sounds were good. Some thought there
needed to be some improvements but no one
thought the sounds were bad. From the
results, I modified where the score began and
ended. I also added other sounds, for example
fast breathing and coughing.
Question 6 was also positive (the image on the
left). Seven out of nine people (two people
skipped the question) thought the transitions
were good. However, we do need
improvements because some thought the
transitions in the opening sequence were not
good. When editing, I added effects at the
start, before the distribution company title.

All of the responses were positive. According to the audience, the opening
sequence looked like a thriller film.
Another beneficial response was the opening sequence left them asking
questions (Q2). This is positive because it would make the audience want
to carry on watching. This is because they would want to find out answers
for their questions. Plus, a convention of thriller is to leave questions.
All of the people we asked thought my opening sequence looked like a
thriller. This is shown in the first question.
This links with the sixth question. Nine out of eleven people would carry on
watching, which is a positive thing because it shows my opening sequence
was successful.
In question five, each person found a different part of the opening
sequence enjoyable to watch. This suggests that the opening sequence is
good throughout and not just effective in one part.

How did I attract my audience

  • 2. First survey – after first the draft Second survey – after the second draft There are improvements from the tension created in my opening sequence from the first draft to the second draft. However, there is not too much developments. This is because there is a minor change. In the first survey, 7 people felt tense and in the second survey there were 8 people. There is only one more person who felt tense, which implies my group and I were successful in creating tension.
  • 3. First survey – after the first draft Second survey – after the second draft There has been some changes of the understanding of the plot in my opening sequence. After my first draft, there was an equal amount of people who did not understand the plot and people who understood parts of it. However, if the total amount was added for these results then the people who understood the plot is higher. On the other hand, after the second survey there was a decrease by one in the number of people who understood the plot and an increase by one in the number of people who did not understand the plot. This shows that the changes we made after the first draft made the audience confused.

  • 5. First survey – after the first draft Two of the three questions were positive. The forth question (second image on the previous slide) was helpful but showed the effects we used were not good. From this, I added and changed some of the effects. The audience thought the effects were weak at the ending. The majority of the people we asked thought the sounds were good. Some thought there needed to be some improvements but no one thought the sounds were bad. From the results, I modified where the score began and ended. I also added other sounds, for example fast breathing and coughing. Question 6 was also positive (the image on the left). Seven out of nine people (two people skipped the question) thought the transitions were good. However, we do need improvements because some thought the transitions in the opening sequence were not good. When editing, I added effects at the start, before the distribution company title.

  • 8. Second survey – after the second draft All of the responses were positive. According to the audience, the opening sequence looked like a thriller film. Another beneficial response was the opening sequence left them asking questions (Q2). This is positive because it would make the audience want to carry on watching. This is because they would want to find out answers for their questions. Plus, a convention of thriller is to leave questions. All of the people we asked thought my opening sequence looked like a thriller. This is shown in the first question. This links with the sixth question. Nine out of eleven people would carry on watching, which is a positive thing because it shows my opening sequence was successful. In question five, each person found a different part of the opening sequence enjoyable to watch. This suggests that the opening sequence is good throughout and not just effective in one part.
