The group created a questionnaire about horror film preferences that asked about subgenre preferences, fears, and viewing habits. They received responses from friends but realized they should have administered the questionnaires in person to clarify questions and ensure a 100% response rate. The questionnaire results showed that both males and females enjoyed supernatural films the most and had a fear of spiders. It also provided insights into how many films people watch monthly and their reasons for seeing films at the cinema.

Horror questionnaire results
1. Horror
Questionnaire
We went through the answers, completed graphs and pie charts to display our results, making it easier to generalise and understand the
information in a clearer form.
Our group has created a questionnaire which focused on sub-genre preferences, iconography and other subjects; for
example the viewers worst fear.
We asked people we know to complete the questionnaire and hand it back in their own time, but when going over our results it was evident
that we should have completed the questionnaires in person. So we could clear up confusion about questions and confirm a 100% return
rate.
The questionnaire shouldgive us an insight into who our target audience is and what they look for in horror
films.

We asked 8 people
what their worst fears
were, and these were
the results we ended
up with. 3 males said
death was their worst
fear, 2 male and 2
female said that spiders
were their worst fear
and only 1 female said
supernatural.

We asked 8 people how
many films they would
usually watch on a
monthly basis. It was
evident from our
questionnaire that none
of the people we asked
didn’t watch movies,
however more males
watched 6 to 10 films on
a monthly basis than
females. On the other
hand 1 female watched 11
to 20 films during the
month unlike the 0% of
males that did.

After asking 8 people to
choose as many reasons why
they go to see films at the
cinema as they wanted, both
males and females mostly
said that they go to see the
film because of the films
trailer. However the males
seem to choose to go to the
cinema for different reasons
than women, as the females
said they only go to see a
film at the cinema after
hearing about it on social
networking, word of mouth
and through watching the
trailer for the movie.
