HomeRF is a wireless networking standard optimized for home and office use. It provides data and voice communication between devices like PCs, cordless phones, and DSL modems using a technology called SWAP (Shared Wireless Access Protocol). SWAP uses a hybrid TDMA/CSMA approach and frequency hopping to provide both high-speed packet data and interactive voice services with a range of up to 150 feet. HomeRF aims to make wireless connectivity affordable and enable communication between various smart home devices.
