Home page analysis
- 1. The header on the home page is shown on every page of the website as it promotes the band’s name. Their logo is also in the centre so that it is recognisable and familiar to the audience. The colour scheme is black, white and grey to follow the theme of the album and the logo. This conforms to the alternative rock genre as it presents the dark stereotype of the genre which appeals to the youthful target audience. The navigation bar is located at the top of every page so that it is accessible by the audience and allows them to easily access every page. The main feature of the home page is the slideshow of photos displaying the band. This adds some colour to the website as well showing what the band has been up to . Fans usually like to look at photos of their favourite artists so aspect would appeal to the youth.
- 2. The home page also includes a live feed of the band updates. This is so that the fans are able to keep up with what the band are up to (interviews, new videos, etc.) The young target audience are very involved in social networking, such as Twitter, so this feature is relevant for the age group. Also included on the home page is the tour dates to remind the audience to buy tickets (which they can do by clicking the link provided). This promotes the band’s tour and professionalism.
