A digipak is a paperboard or cardstock packaging for CDs or DVDs that typically contains one or more plastic trays for the disc. Digipaks fold into a protective case and come in various panel configurations. They contain visual elements like the artist name, album title and images related to the music. Conventionally, the front cover prominently displays this information to draw in customers, while the inside and back provide additional context like track listings and lyrics. Digipaks benefit artists by promoting their work, emphasizing their message, and reinforcing their brand identity.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. 2. What is a Digipak?
A Digipak is a packaging for CD or DVD and they typically consist of a
gatefold paperboard or cardstock outer binding, with one or more
plastic trays capable of holding a CD or DVD attached to the inside the
generic. The digipak is usually held under a traditional jewel case.
A digipak can be opened like a book or it can have three parts so that
when opened one portion can open to the write and one can open to
the left an example of this would be the background of this
presentation.
Digipaks have certain conventions, they include various element for
example visual images, album title, band/ artists name, basic
background information of the artist. In this PowerPoint I will be
discussing my research and planning
3. Folds
DigiPaks have been designed purposely to fold into a square CD case.
DigiPaks can fold in in different way depending on how many panels
there are.
•The disc is secured by the paper/cardboard that is folded around or
inside the plastic case.
•The main promoters of the CD are the front and back panels due to that
it is the first viewable perspective the customer sees therefore it the
back and especially the front panel must draw the customer in.
•The extra information that is to with the album/artist/song are usually
inside the digipak.
•The inside panels are usually more subtle with theme compared to the
out side panels
4. Forms - Flat-
Plan
Consists of 4 square
panels that is folded
in half – This is a very
typical digipak that I
plan on using for my
own design
5. Forms - Six
Panel
Digipak
This is slightly
different, the digipak
will have 6 square
panels and will open
with one portion to
the left and one to
the right.
6. Forms-
Eight Panel
This type of digipak
will have provide
significant amount of
detail to its viewer.
This digipak is not
typically used by
many artist unless it
is a featured album
containing many
songs.
8. Front Cover
•The album title will be present and will usually be in a different but
related font to its theme. The colour of the font may also be different
•The artist’s name will be present and will usually be above the album
title, the font will usually be the same with throughout all there albums
or posters to relate to there persona.
•There will be an picture of the artist or an eye catching artwork that will
have some relation to the theme of there album or a song or there
genre. The image used will usually be familiar to the audience through
there music video or there certain motif.
10. Back cover
•Again there will be an image relating to the front cover, the image will
usually be overlaid with other content such as the track list.
•The track list will be displayed on the back cover, sometimes the track list
will have the length of the tracks and the track numbers. The track list is
essential as the customer will need to know what they are purchasing.
•On the bottom there will be information about copyrights and permissions
•There may be information such as the artists website links and social
networking sites.
•We do not tend to see the artist name on the back cover however
sometimes it could be present. Most likely the album title will be shown
than the artist name.
•On the bottom corner there will be a barcode as well as the contributing
record companies.
12. Inside
•Inside there will be more backgrounds again relating the theme
throughout.
•There are often extra information which could include:
• Song lyrics
• Information about the album
• Quotes
• Personal Messages
• Artist Information
14. How do DigiPaks Benefit the
Artist?
Promotional aspect – Helps bring attention to the artist through selling
there product and therefore encouraging consumers to buy and listen
to there music.
Support the Artist – Fans may purchase the product in order to support
the artist and show gratitude to there work.
Emphasises there work – For example if there is certain message that
is conveyed in there lyrics, the artist will be able to explore this message
and convey it to there consumer through visual print.
Brand Identity - The digipak will likely embody the theme and image of
the artist therefore emphasising the artists brand image or motif.
