Oil Conservation Essay
AVO Sensitivity in a reservoir undergoing
Enhanced oil recovery using steam flood
Introduction
Steam flooding sometimes known as a steam drive is one of the most conventional
thermal EOR Enhanced oil recovery method that is applied in heavy oil reservoirs.
This technique also is referred to as continuous steam injection and steam drive,
where steam is injected continuously through an injection well or wells, while oil is
produced via different wells where the oil is heat to higher temperatures and to
thereby decrease its viscosity enhancing its hydraulic properties and allowing its flow
through the surrounding formations toward the producing wells, alternatively a

chamber. The overburden was assumed to have a constant P wave, S wave and
density of 2600 m/s, 1600 m/s and 2500 kg/m3, respectively.
Background and theory
AVO results from energy partitioning‟, i.e. when a seismic wave hit a boundary,
portion of energy is reflected and the rest propagates through. If the angle of
incidence is not zero, pressure wave energy is partitioned further into reflected and
transmitted as P and S components. The ratio between of the reflected and
transmitted energy amplitudes is dependent on the disparity in physical properties
across the boundary; mainly shear velocity (Vs), compressional wave velocity (Vp),
and density (ПЃ). But, It is also notable that reflection amplitudes also depend on the
angle of progation between incidence and the surface as shown in the figure.
The reflection coefficient of a seismic wave reflecting off a boundary separating two
medias as a product from a normal incidence, can be expressed simply as R:
R=(Z_1 Z_0)/(z_1+z_0 )
where Z0 and Z1 are the acoustic impedances of the first and second medium,
respectively, although this simple relation cannot be utilized in case of abnormal
incidents, due to interchange conversion between P waves and S waves, and can be
described by Zoeppritz equations, where the amplitudes of reflected and refracted
waves at a planar interface for an incident P wave as a function of the
Wedding Anniversaries And Traditional Gift Materials
It s customary for married couples to celebrate their wedding anniversaries and
tradition states that there are certain types of gifts that are appropriate to give for
each anniversary. These gifts traditionally represent materials that symbolize a
marriage built in strength. They appear to have evolved during medieval Europe,
when women were presented with wreaths of silver for the twenty fifth
anniversaries and wreaths of gold for the fiftieth. If you ve been invited to party for a
couple celebrating a major wedding anniversary, use this following list of traditional
gift materials coupled with updated gift ideas and you ll be certain to wow the
celebrating couple.
First Anniversary.
The first wedding anniversary is associated with paper. You could give a card, of
course, or you could push the envelope a little bit (quite literally, in fact) with a
stationary set customized with the couple s initials. An inspiring book about love
also makes a great paper gift.
Second Anniversary.
It is tradition to give a gift of cotton for a second anniversary. Clothing may be too
personal of a gift to give, although, if you re close to the couple, a set of matching
pajamas would make a charming gift. If that s too intimate, opt for a decorative
pillow with some sort of inscription of love of heart on it.
Third Anniversary.
Leather is the custom for this one. Today it easy to find stylish, leather adorned
items for the home. Try a large picture frame or photo album. If you re
How To Be A Large Animal Veterinarian Essay
Large Animal Veterinarian
Every since I was a little girl I had always wanted too be a veterinarian. I did not
know what type of veterinarian but I knew I wanted to be one. As I started to get
older I realized what type of vet I wanted to be. A large animal veterinarian.
Because the I could work with cattle, horses, sheep, goats, and pigs. Being a large
animal vet consists of many challenging things. It also includes late night calls,
surgeries on the farm, and many other last minute operations. I love animals and I
really enjoy working them. I know that when I become a veterinarian I will have
fun and love what I am doing. I also have plans on going to Iowa State University.
ISU is known for their animal medicine. Being a large animal vet also makes a lot of
money. Being a large animal vet sounds challenging, fun, and exiting. But I am up...

One, your patients do not talk. Two, horses and cows are dangerous animals.
Three, the animal might not be trained and a big animal that is not trained just

show cows their yearly shots and medications. I help Dan (the vet) give the cows
their shots. It is very exciting but also hard. Because the cows are always moving
especially if the cow is not halter broke. LAst summer my main show cow Minnie
got a really bad case of warts. Minnie had to be on medication for almost two
months. The vet had to come out to my house twice too remove Minnie s moles. I
got the amazing opportunity to help Dan work on Minnie. It was very challenging
because Minnie does not like the vet at all. She kept trying to back away. We had
to remove the warts on her face. We ended up having too do it at the beginning over
summer and a week before fair. Becoming a large animal veterinarian is going too be

The Merits Of Teacher Performance Pay
THE MERITS OF TEACHER PERFORMANCE PAY IN KENYA
Introduction
This paper discusses the merits of performance pay for teachers in Kenya. I argued
here that remuneration reforms for civil service teachers will achieve production
efficiency. This paper has three main sections. Section 1 gives a brief description of
the scheme of service for teachers in Kenya. Section 2 highlights the economic case
in favour of teacher salaries and identifies the government failures in ensuring teacher
effectiveness.
Section 3 offers a criticism of teacher performance pay as a reform strategy in
determining teacher efficiency in Kenyan public schools. This section further delves
into the issues that affect effective teacher performance pay systems and reflect ...

The salary system is in ascending order in the scale of eleven job groups. The
highest paid teacher, chief principal (job group R) is at grade 11.The lowest paid
teacher, a P2 (job group F) is at grade 1. In addition to the basic salary, teachers are
paid allowances with allocations relative to the job group standing, this include;
house allowance, commuter allowance, medical allowance, responsibility
allowances. Teachers are entitled to an automatic annual salary increase of about
4% for every year of service (Teachers Service Commission, 2012 p 1 24). Duflo et
al (2012), elaborates on teacher recruitment and salaries in Kenya; illustrates the
central role played by the Teachers Service Commission in teacher management and
trade union representation is highlighted to show how the wage system works
(Duflo et al, 2012). Michael and Mathew (2007) underscore that salary schemes for
teachers are almost a worldwide characteristic of public schools. They rely on data
from national surveys that indicate that 100% of teachers in public schools are paid
using a pay set salary system (Michael and Mathew, 2007).
Glazerman et al, (2011) argue that the single salary system was created to address
equity issues and has spread over the globe, where teachers regularly get paid based
on qualification and experience as opposed to the measure of teacher effectiveness
and their students results. (Glazerman et al, 2011;

Introduction
In this consultancy report we will discuss about the concepts of community tourism
and pro poor tourism and their sustainability both in general and in the context of
South Africa. The first section of the report introduces sustainable tourism

(Ashley, et al., 2001) The degree of control is significant element of sustainability and
the debate is how local communities should be involved in the sustainable
development of tourism in their area. If sustainable tourism development is
successful, it may help pro poor tourism to reduce the poverty in different levels.
(Mowforth Munt, 2003) To achieve the sustainable tourism in poor regions tourism
development needs to be well planned and managed and the overall environmental
quality needs to be maintained and improved. Poverty reduction impacts should be
taken into consideration when assessing sustainability. (WTO, 2002)
e. Community tourism and pro poor tourism in South Africa: a critical review of
practice to date (Helin Henrietta)
In 1996 the government of South Africa published the White Paper on the
Development and Promotion of Tourism which set frameworks for South Africa s
new tourism policy. (Richards Wilson, 2007) The White Paper identifies that
community based tourism has a lot of potential on developing South Africa s
economy and implies many examples of community participation possibilities. It also
recognises the difficulties of community tourism, for example a lack of awareness,
lack of information or training and lack of access to finance. (Hughes Vaughan, 2001)
Over the last decade there have been major changes in tourism development and
actions in community tourism and pro poor tourism have become more common. The
Nursing Life In Nursing
Watching someone die is a situation I will never get used to. I know it is part of life
and part of nursing as well. I feel nurses help guide their patient s in healing and
even the end of life stages. Nurses are advocates the patients and offer a hand to
help in comforting. Death can be uplifting knowing the patient is able to let go and
they are no longer in pain. As someone passes, they look peaceful, relieved and
happy which is a beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time.
According to our class s textbook, Called to Care: A Christian Worldview for
Nursing , Death is universal, it is often called the, great equalizer. Many times,
nurses feel guilty because they think they should have done more for the patient.
(Shelly, 2006). I know I have been there myself. My goal is to help in curing the
patient or getting them better than before they were admitted. Also, to help them
recover from the surgery. When I first started nursing as a floor nurse, my intenetions
were to help patients get better, well I did not expect some to die from
complications or just from end stages of like such as Hospice. Like other people, the
suffer from agony of death because life has meaning, relationships have depth and
importance, and we are strongly aware of all unfinished business in this life. (Shelly,
2006)
I witnessed my first code which was one of my patients. I was an LPN at the time
and my first week after orientation. The patient requested to be on the unit I work
Compare And Contrast Distance Running And Cycling
Distance running and cycling first began and were introduced as sports, in the 1800 s
when the first Olympic Games took place. Since then, these sports have become
increasingly well known around the world and in society. Distance running, and road
racing cycling have many different components including the types of equipment s
used, muscles worked, VO2 max levels, the weather each sport can occur in, etc.
Although these two sports are quite different, they are both well known and loved by
the many individuals who take part in a healthy sporting lifestyle. By analyzing the
nutritional requirements, common injuries, and legal and/or illegal performance
enhancing drugs, many differences and similarities can be discovered and revealed
regarding these two sport activities.
Proper nutrition is one of the most essential elements to being healthy and living a
long life. Choosing better decisions with your nutrition and hydration can result in
improved performance, injury prevention and recovery. Both professional road racing
cyclists and marathon runners follow specific diets to obtain their careers as athletes,
so they can continue to do what they love. Cycling and running are both considered
endurance sports that require similar nutritional requirements when training, during,
and after the activity. Carbohydrates play a significant role in these two sports as they
provide energy for the central nervous system and help maintain essential glycogen
stores within the muscles,
African American Women And The Collective Psyche Of...
African American women have been purposefully written out of visual history
with the exception of scripted roles that have been predetermined by stereotypical
scripts that are imbedded in the collective psyche of American audiences beginning
in the 1890s. Dorothy Dandridge was a sensational performer that commanded
attention and left her audiences awestruck on screen and in life. At the age of
eleven, I recall sitting in front of the television for a special televised movie, called
Introducing Dorothy Dandridge. The film opens with a somber score and
voiceover of Dorothy (Halle Berry) asking the audience, Have you ever caught
sight of yourself by accident... And, you see yourself from the outside... That s
who you really are... That question captured my wondering eleven year old mind
and immediately pulled me into the world of a woman who was familiar to me.
She was familiar in her storytelling and questioning even before an image broke the
continuity of credits on flashing on the screen. My mother has always loved
mirrors. In one room there would be at least two mirrors suspended on the walls. I
have caught many glimpses of myself over the years, so I knew exactly what she
meant in asking the question. It s a question that continues to be answered by
Hollywood of black women, but without their input or consent. The question is
why? On November 9, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio a star was born, Ms. Dorothy
Dandridge. Ms. Dandridge s manager and close friend, Earl Mills recounts
Alcohol Use Disorder Essay
Alcohol use disorder (AUD) has a major national health impact in the United
States, affecting over 17 million people, causing more than 100,000 deaths and
costing over $200 billion annually (Bouchery et al., 2011; Grant et al., 2004;
Hardwood, 2000). Alcohol use and abuse is currently the third leading risk factor
for premature death and composed of nearly 4% of all deaths worldwide (World
Health Organizations). Despite a large amount of effort focusing on the development
of new medications for AUD, currently there are only 3 FDA approved treatments
on the market, all of which have only yielded limited success even when combined
with psychosocial support (Harris et al., 2010; Litten e al., 2012). This is evident by
the high rates of uncontrolled heavy drinking that continue to persist and the high
relapse rate in patients even after long term inpatient treatment and support
(Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration). As such, novel
approaches that allow for rapid development of new and effective medication to
treat and/or prevent AUD is an important public health goal (Bouchery et al., 2011;
Heilig and Egli, 2006; Johnson, 2010; Johnson et al., 2007; Steensland et al., 2007).
Using a translational approach to address this issue, our... Show more content on

In several animal and in vitro models, MOX has been shown to have superior BBB

greater margin of safety for MOX is thought to be linked to its lower intrinsic
activity at certain relevant receptors in the brain including GABAARs (Janko et al.,

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Song Lyrics
I m inspired by this song to keep my head up high, not to give up so easily. Reading
the lyrics and taking notice in the music introduced me to a different concept, despite
how hard times can get, someone else is having a tough time also. I ve found interest
in her overall message, sharing her struggle and hurt with her audience brings a
deeper connection, other than singing a songshe has no relation with. Her experience
with hurt spoke to me as a fellow singer, it encouraged my life lessons from past
hurts to say a little pray, and depend solely on faith. Hope, and faith which will
assist me along through my low valley of hurt. The better days that are described as

Information Has Become An Invaluable Resource
Information has become an invaluable resource. In modern society, it is necessary to
be able to send and receive data quickly in order to keep up with the rest of the world.
With so much technology at our fingertips, it is almost unheard of for someone to be
without a device that can connect the Internet. The technology that allows these
devices to communicate with one another is known as the Internetof Things. Because
of this concept, people are now able to exchange information faster than ever before.
The idea of machines being able to communicate with each other has been around
since the early 1800s. The telegraph, invented in the 1830s, became the first landline

2016
IoT Analytics https://iot analytics.com/top 10 iot project application areas q3 2016
/ One of the most significant applications of IoT in society involves the media and
entertainment industry. In 2014, the industry was the third fastest growing in terms
of devices with IoT connections, according to a report by Verizon Communications.
More and more consumers are using devices that can connect to the Internet, and are
therefore being exposed to the content put out by businesses. Because the industry
already has most of the resources necessary to implement IoT, businesses can gain
valuable information on their customers. Businesses can use this data and analyze it
in order to deliver their advertisements in a way that is more tailored to the
consumer. Using a customer s location, behaviors, preferences, and demographics
helps businesses personalize this content so that the advertisement will be more
likely to gain the viewer s interest. With all the digital and mobile devices being
used, the IoT has plenty of room to grow in this industry. (EMarketer)
In addition to media and entertainment, the Internet of Things is also helping to
improve the transportation and logistics industry. It is crucial for businesses to have
current, updated data on hand for them to succeed in these areas and be productive as
a company. The IoT can improve this by giving businesses
Chivalry In The Song Of Roland ( Le Chanson De Roland
Chivalry and culture transformed the High Middle Ages in the Song of Roland
(Le Chanson de Roland) because of the fact that it provides built in drama for the
poets and storytellers. This was originally a song that s passed down by minstrels
and later written down by monks around the twelfth century. Chivalry is a set of
systems and social codes governing the behavior of knights and gentlewomen. It also
includes a set of oaths of one s loyalty in regards to the overlord and observing
certain warfare. Throughout the poem/song, it showcases the characteristics of a
perfect knight in that day and age. The book differs from real events by changing
some aspects of location, ethnics, and the time period. In the real events that actually
happened, Charlemagne s men were fighting against the Basques. On the other hand,
in the book they were fighting the Muslims during the time of the Crusadesto make it
more exhilarating. At this point in time fighting on horseback became
increasingly popular, but the events that actually happened were all of the battles
were fought on foot. Another reason why they changed it is that of propaganda
towards the Crusades. Save Saragossa in its high mountain place/Marsilion holds
it, the king who hates God s name. At the present time, people would prefer to read
or listen to the stories about betrayal and fighting compared to stories that would
stay true to the fault. Besides, Charlemagne was a Christian king that conquered a
lot of the territory and Marsilion was a Muslim king that wanted his land back but
he didn t want war to come with it. Another contrast of the book and the true events
would be Charlemagne s true age. At Charlemayne, that is so old and hoar/I know
he s lived two hundred years and more. Charlemagne lived between the years of
768 814 AD (he died approximately the age of 46 years old). But in the book, they
depict him as a 200 year old emperor that will eventually fight an 800 year old Emir
of Babylon. This would captivate the audience for the purpose of current events that
were happening during the twelfth century. Once again this was propaganda for the
Crusades to promote the Christians fighting in the Holy Land in the Middle East
against the Muslims. This
Analysis Of Milan Kundera s Unbearable Lightness Of
Being
In Unbearable Lightness of Being, Milan Kundera uses the contrasting ideas of
lightness and weight to signify ones existence. Kundera disagrees with Frederich
Nietzsche s concept of Eternal Return, and believes that instead of one s existence
being a recurring event with little to no change in detail our lives only happen once,
meaning every action or decision in a life has a very brief existence.
The novel introduces us with Tomas, who is an extremely light character, with few
emotional ties to people, with a enormous need for many lovers. For him, love and
sex are separate entities. He loves Tereza, a single woman, but will sleep with a
large amount of other women throughout his life. The arrival of Tereza then
directly signifies a new addition of weight into Tomas life. She is described as The
two of them got into his car, which was parked in front of the house, and drove to
the station. There he claimed the suitcase (it was large and enormously heavy) and
took it and her home. (Kundera, Milan, and Michael Heim Henry. The Unbearable
Lightness of Being. page 9 10) Tereza has packed up what we consider is a large
amount of her belongings, moving her life into Tomas , in a large and enormous and
heavy suitcase. This suitcase contains her life, and the act of Tomas taking it home

Metaphors In Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God
Throughout the Eighteenth Century, religion fought a battle against science and
those who
did not stand with the church were not looked at as ethical people. In the sense that
they could not
possibly be good people if the did not live for God instead of themselves. Atheists
were not the only
group of people who were disliked even Quakers and Jews who did not share the
same God were
looked down upon. Jonathan Edwards made the message clear in his sermon that
those who did not
go to church and live for God were enemies of God. The church and its followers
started to make the
idea known to others that God would send them to hell for entirety unless they came
back to God as
quickly as possible and repented. In his famous sermon Sinners in the Hands of an
Angry God .
Jonathan Edwards puts fear in all those who do not follow the word of God by talking
about hell and
the punishment that unrepentant humans deserve. His metaphors including those
about hell, the wrath
of God and the unworthiness of humans is successful in scaring the unrepentant to
turn back to God
and as for forgiveness.
In one metaphor Edwards creates a clear image for his congregation when he explains
that
unrepentant sinners are like heavy lead plunging toward hell without the help of God.
Edwards writes, Your wickedness makes you as it were heavy as lead, and to tend
downwards with
great weight and pressure towards hell; and if God should let you go, you would
immediately sink and

The project s timeline is shown in the GANTT chart below. A significant portion of
time has been allotted to testing both the code and hardware to ensure any
problems that arise are able to be addressed without sending the project too far off
schedule. Some changes were made of the Gantt chart due to the decision made of
removing the PCB board and microcontroller out of the project which gave more
time for the transmission medium and Arduino Uno software. Also, the design
layout for the protoboard took over some of the time of the PCB board design. For
most of the time, the team was behind, but after getting a working transmission
medium design, the group was on track for finishing the project. The removal of the
microcontroller and PCB board, also gave some spare time in the schedule. The
design of the transmission medium and finalizing the software for collision detection
took longer than expected, however the ordering time of the protoboard and creating
a batter station was finish earlier than expected.

Equality And Respecting Equality
M1): Analyze the importance to public services of good citizens respecting equality
and supporting them by respecting the key concepts associated with diversity.
The possible issues related to equality and diversity
Stereotypes and discrimination against people with particular characteristics or
abilities could create a separation and mistrust between services and society or
particular community. There have been examples with policeforce in UK when police
services were accused of being institutionally racist to people from ethnic minorities
throughout modern era.
Public service have an important role of supporting different type of people that
have their own beliefs and their own way of live their life for example Ethnic groups.
Some ethnic group have a hard time to integrate to the society because of the
language, this difficult for the public service like police to communicate who doesn
t speak the language and it s even harder if they feel like they get shunned by
society because they don t speak the language, they look different and the culture
shock as not use to this compare to where they came from. Sometime for ethnic
group not able to integrate to their background can have bad effect on how they live
one example is be vulnerable by the society from racism and discrimination. The
results of this make it 10 times harder for the police to have the trust from ethnic
group as they might feel it better to stay in their own group not integrate to culture.

This is the main message of the story is having the attitude that everyone can win and

On The Road Dean Morarty Analysis
In Jack Kerouac s novel On the Road, we meet Sal Paradise and Dean Moriarty,
two very lost men. After publishing the novel, many critics commented that
Kerouac s novel glorifies the deeds of criminal young men living irresponsible
lives. Because of the low tolerance for rebellious youth, nowadays most of society
would share the critics opinion. As Dean and Sal are adults, most of their actions are
not inappropriate. Though this is true, the more one reads the novel, one sees just
how much of a failure Dean is. Throughout the novel, Dean, Sal, and their friends
have many parties. Drugs, alcohol, and parties are common themes in the novel.
These actions are appropriate. Dean, Sal, and their friends are trying to find
themselves. As Sal says,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Role Of Segregation In The Film And Film
The film book Eyes on the Prize really opened up my eyes to what was going on in
the 1960s. Segregation affected all elements of life in the United States, and blacks
did not have the same basic rights as whites. Blacks took a beating literally to get the
rights they deserved. These individuals overcame so much on their goal to receiving
freedom and equality. From getting beat, hospitalized, to boycotting busses, and
restaurants. Everything they did took tremendous courage. It is unbelievable that
their faith was strong enough to overcome such obstacles placed in front of them. In
Nashville, many hateful and segregated issues was displayed openly to the public.

White people did not like the sit in and spoke up about the sit in. However, this did
not stop local blacks in the city at all. Black citizens continued to help the
movement by any means that they could. Merchants would give food to those in jail
and people who owned houses would give up their homes for bail money. Z.
Alexander Looby was the top black Lawyer in Nashville, and he represented the
students. Alexander Looby won the case and the student s charges of disorderly
conduct was dropped. The students was still charged with a fine that had to be paid,
and some students refused to pay as they thought it was unjust and would rather do
jail time. Soon after, blacks organized to stop shopping downtown and spending their
money in a white man s store. Black leaders thought an economic boycott would
directly affect the white storeowners. The belief that not supporting these businesses
would directly affect the established political structure in Nashville Tennessee. Blacks
hoped that this boycott would put pressure on the government to change the
The Atmosphere Built Up By Jonny Greenwood
There Will Be Blood takes place in the early 1900 s, where prospector Daniel
Plainview sets out on a journey to claim his fortune though oil drilling. The longing
for riches, and the slow accent into madness are the key components in what makes
the film and it s character so enticing. The atmosphere built up by Daniel is
completed by the unique orchestral sounds; feelings of woe, suspense, fear, and
uncertain conclusions are skillfully captured. The pace of the film, the various scores,
and a deeply driven character all sum up to a masterfully skilled piece of work.
Scored by Jonny Greenwood, lead guitarist from the band RadioHead, uses his
skills as a composer to deliver a unique sound that pairs well with the film.
Described as RadioHead s jack of all trades, Greenwood is skilled in plying not
only the guitar, but also the xylophone, sampler, keyboards and the ondes Marenot,
the instrument used in the film (Bekkala). Showing his master in rock; his interest
span to other genres including classical. His inspirations come from Messiaen and
Ligeti, two paramount 20th century composers skilled in serialism and
postmodernism respectively. Their influences are clearly shown in Greenwood s
There Will Be Blood scores. Another composer, Penderecki,a modern skilled
composer and conductor also shows in Greenwood s work. I love hearing
Penderecki played by live orchestras there s noting like it... But Messiane was my
first connection to classical music(Woolfrey). In an interview
If Everyone Is A Lucky Dog Essay
If Everyone is A Lucky Dog I read a story of The Bible just now. A man in it was
fortune when I was under a heavy pressure to face a test. I sometimes thought why
I always lose chances, and I think I am not lucky. But when I think about a thing
from another aspect, I find that I am not only lucky, but also unique. Daniel the
servant of the living god was cast into a den of lions. A stone was laid over the
mouth of the pit, and then the king ordered to close it. No one can change his
purpose. But that night, it was a very long night for Darius the king, for he cannot
eat well, sleep well and hardly to listen to the music. The second day, he got up very
early in the morning. He went to the den of the lions and with a very sorrowful voice
cried. He asked toward to the den if he was alive. He did not know if he can live

Fortunately, he got a strong and cheery voice. He was still alive. The king regretted
what he had done to him, and he worried him so that he looks for him in the early
morning. The king did not want to be punished by god for the man was servant of
god; he regretted to treat him so violently. Daniel was brought up out of the den by
king, and the king put down his heart after he assured that there was no hurt found
upon him, because he had believed in god. Daniel was lucky, he was servant of
god, when he met difficult god will help him. When he was thrown into the den of
lions, god sent his angel to help him out of the lions who has shut the lions mouths
so that no hurt was found in him. There is no doubt that Daniel is lucky for he is
god s servant. He is unique. But for many people who are very common and not

Fletcher V Bribery Case
In 1795, the Georgia legislature passed a law granting land to four companies in
result of bribery from the companies to members of the legislature. Among the
people who were granted such land was John Peck. However, the next year, the
new Georgia legislature passed a law that nullified the 1795 law that granted the
land. Despite the new law, John Peck sold the granted land to Robert Fletcher, in
1803, claiming former sales of the land were lawful. Sequentially, Fletcher
discovered the law that nullified the original sale which made Peck s sale unlawful
therefore a breach of contract existed. Fletcher sued Peck for breach of contract
specifically the covenant that declared the original sales were lawful. The case was

The Laramie Project Personal Response
Life is an amazing, wonderful, beautiful adventure that we are blessed with every
day. But, we are greeted many times throughout those days with choices we have to
make. Most of those choices we make are built by the structure and beliefs that our
parents and loved ones have passed onto us. Looking into how we were brought up
can we really say what s right or wrong? Can we positively determine that everyone
thinks the same? While watching The LaramieProject you see and hear two hundred

Tim Tebow s Strength is Jesus Christ
ВЁWhen people see the work ethic, determination and the passion that I have, they re
going to ask, What drives you? What is that? Well, the answer is my relationship
with Jesus Christ. that s just what has always fueled me. (Rogeberg). As a
tremendously skilled and dedicated athlete, Tim Tebowuses his strengths to show
Christ to people in a unique way. Tim Tebow demonstrates that Christlikeness and
courage are essential to being a strong leader. On a crisp summer day, August the
fourteenth, nineteen eighty seven, a legend in football and leader in Christ was
born, named Timothy Richard Tebow. He was born into a small town in the
Philippines called Makati City. Tim Tebow s parents were originally from America
but they moved to the Philippines to do baptist missionary work (Whitaker, 5). In
October of 1990 Tim Tebow s family of four other older siblings moved to
Jacksonville, Florida where Tim was raised. The Tebow s next door neighbor,
Uncle Dick, was like a true uncle to Tim. Most of his childhood memories were
spent in Uncle Dick s household (Whitaker, 7). You rarely see homeschoolers turn
into NFL stars, but Tim Tebow was one. His mother homeschooled him from
kindergarten until senior year of high school. His mother and father were his
biggest influence to getting to know Christ ( Tim Tebow Biography ). Tim Tebow
says when he was seven years old he had a strange fear of getting into a wreck and
not spending eternity with God. With his parents help he accepted Christ
Examples Of The Narrator In A Rose For Emily
A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner is a suspenseful story not only because of its
complex chronology and shocking ending, but also because of Faulkner s unusual
use of narrative technique. While the narrator is seen by many as a windows pane or
mirror upon Emily s life, there is more to the narrator than simply being an unnamed
speaker or collective town voice. The rather unusual narrativeperspective creates
suspense and a sense of mystery as to the identity of the unnamed narrator, seemingly
representing a collective town voice; furthermore, the narrative perspective
significantly influences the characterisation of Emily. In this paper, I am going to
focus on the following questions: Who is the narrator? What is his relation to Emily?
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When first reading it, the narrator comes across as a collective town voice, as he
/she speaks for the whole town and tells us the gossip and ideas of the town people.
He does so in a very detached way, as he is not commenting on the information he
is giving us. However, it is obvious that the narrator is a member of this town, as he
is using personal pronouns like we and our . Furthermore, one might get the
impression that the narrator is all knowing because he seems to know many details
that he could only know if he either experienced the events himself or is
omniscient. For example, on page 121 in the first paragraph, the narrator describes
a visit of the Board of Aldermen at Miss Emily s. When referring to these men, the
narrator uses the pronoun they , rather than we , as he usually does. This means
that he is not one of those men who visit Emily. But his precise knowledge about
many details of this meeting leads to the assumption that he must be either all
knowing or if he is not one of the men of the Board of Aldermen he is another
character present. This could be a first hint to the narrator s real identity. Except for
the men of the Board of Aldermen and Miss Emily, there was only one more person
present: Tobe, Miss Emily s black
Impact Of The Automotive Industry On The United States...
Automobile Industry David Evinger ECO/372 8/3/2015 Professor Tim Ringgold
Introduction The automotive industry has been one of the factors of trade
between several countries that became very important to the United States trade
market. The industry took a heavy hit when the economy crashed in 1929 forcing
car industry sales to go down. The fall of sales with automobiles created havoc in
other industries as well. The domino effect began to take effect on other business
such as oil and gas companies. People stopped by oil and fuel when they couldn t
afford to use their automobiles. People couldn t get to work which had a huge factor
on employment and loss of jobs. This paper will discuss the huge effect it had with

One of the biggest name brand car dealers that took a hit due to models being
behind the new and current models was Pontiac and Saturn which in turn created
decrease in sales. The models needed to be removed from the factory assembly
lines. This had a huge effect on economy that laid off American civilians and
contributed to the unemployment numbers. Toyota and Honda started to take the
market by storm, and surpassing some of the American competitors. Once Ford
and GMC realized this they knew they had to try a different strategy to overcome
the growing market. Ford started to reduce emissions and save on fuel economy
with smaller engines with the same amount of speed. SWOT Analysis The
restoration or the United States auto industry is still on a sluggish as well as
delicate route, this really is based on JD Power s director of auto forecasting.
Presently the prediction is to have a market of 13.2m items for 2011; following
forecasted a market of 11.6m items for this year. Among the dangers for the 2011
market is that even though there will be greater advancements in the United States
Of America economy a lot of people will still be extremely careful, that will result
in a sluggish progress demand atmosphere for a while yet. The 3 largest
powerhouses of the United States of America automobile sector have a very good

Dante s Inferno Research Paper
Dante, full name Dante Alighieri, is an epic poet who hailed from the Late Middle
Ages of Italy, he was the brilliant writer behind The Divine Comedy. Dante wasn t a
follower, he was a trend setter . Dante was one of the first writers of his time to write
in the Tuscan dialect whereas most of his peers only wrote in Latin. This undertaking
led to Dante unintentionally playing a paramount role in the creation of the Italian
language. Dante was born in the year 1265 and died in 1321 a year after finishing
writing The Divine Comedy. Unfortunately, Dante did not get a chance to have a
relationship with his mother, she died just a few years after he was birthed into
the world. In 1285, Dante married a woman by the name of Gemma Donati when
he was 20 years of age. They were arranged to be together since his age, of just 12
years old. Dante wasn t in love with Gemma, he was in love with another woman,
named Beatrice Portinari. Dante even went as far as incorporating Beatrice in his
epic poem, she served as the pillar to The Divine Comedy. Dante s epoch making
also influenced the art culture in a vast way, many well known artists created

The Adoration Of Saints
The Adoration of Saints
Baroque is important in regards of European philosophical art history, generating
identifiable and stylistic changes in: painting, sculpture and architecture throughout
the periods of the late sixteenth century to the early eighteenth. Dominant particularly
in the regions of southern Europe such as: Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria and southern
Germany. Baroque is a stylistic movement that often exaggerated motion to: illustrate
drama, tension and grandeur features such as exaggerated lighting, intense emotions,
release from restraint, and even a kind of artistic sensationalism through various art
forms.
Baroque art did not really depict the life style of the people at that time; the era was
rather intimately integrated along the religious philosophies of the Catholic Counter
Reformation: instituting a program of restoration and a new way of living, in
Europe and its colonies. Its popularity and success was highly encouraged by the
Catholic Church and was made as a responsive movement made by the Council of
Trent towards the Protestant Reformation the two differed: Protestant reformers
wanted to reassess doctrines such as justification and sweep away medieval practices
such as the adoration of saints.

Communication Gap Between Generation Y And The Baby
Boomer...
This paper reviews an article written by Elza Venter from the Department of
Psychology of Education at the University of South Africa. The article is titled
Bridging the communication gap between Generation Y and the Baby Boomer
generation.
The article examines the generational communication gap between generation Y and
the Baby Boomer generation with the intention to suggest ways to bridge the gap.
Venter (2016) argues that meaningful communicationbetween the two generations is
important because they have connected channels of communication and the two can
give meaning to each other s lives. For instance, Baby Boomer are the parents,
employers, lecturers and teachers of Generation Y (Venter, 2016: 2). However, the
two generations do not always maintain good channels of communication. According
to Venter (2016) the baby boomer generation and Generation Y often times find
themselves engaged in conflict as a result generational differences.
In order to understand the communication gap between the two generations, Venter
(2016) studied interpersonal communication style of the each generation. The author
found that Generation Y and the Baby Boomer generation value different
communication styles and that creates a communication gap between the two
generations.
According to Venter (2016) the main differences in the two generations
communications styles can be summarised as follows:
Members of Generation Y are called digital natives because this generation grew up

DISTRIBUTION IN BANKING BUSINESS
Distribution in financial services marketing is concerned with how the service is
delivered to the customer, making sure that it is available in a place, at a time and in
a format that is appropriate and convenient for the customer.
In a growing number of countries, the expansion of the financial services sector has
been accompanied by a significant blurring of lines between different institutional
types with, for instance, retail banks offering insurance products (bancassuarance),
insurance companies offering bank accounts and supermarkets launching their own
credit cards. As a consequence, individual organizations can no longer claim a
distinctive market position based on the products they offer. ... Show more content on

Rationale for banking agents
Banking agents help financial institutions to divert existing customers from crowded
branches providing a complementary , often more convenient channel. Other
financial institutions, especially in developing markets, use agents to reach an
additional client segment or geography. Reaching poor clients in rural areas is often
prohibitively expensive for financial institutions since transaction numbers and
volumes do not cover the cost of a branch. In such environments banking agents that
piggy back on existing retail infrastructure and lower set up and running cost can
play a vital role in offering many low income people their first time access to a
range of financial services. Also, low income clients often feel more comfortable
banking at their local store than walking into a marble branch.
Banking agents are the backbone of mobile banking, i.e., performing transactions
over a mobile device, most often a mobile phone. To enable clients to convert cash
into electronic money and vice versa which can send be sent over their mobile
phone, clients will have to visit a branch, automated teller machine (ATM), or
banking agent. Especially in remote and rural locations, where cash is still the most
important way to pay and transact, a mobile banking service is dependent on
Analysis Of The Bluest Eye
In The Bluest Eye, Pecola the protagonist is taken under the Macteer family s wing
much like The African family is community based and the nurturing quality is not
contained within the nuclear family, but is rather the responsibility of the entire
community (Ranström). In traditional Africa each child has a place and is welcome
in the community. The act of parenting another child was not odd because every adult
that lived in each community believed that any child is welcome in anyone s home.
This, however, is not the case for Pecola. Although traditional African culture was
integrated into The Bluest Eye, it was not fully combined. Pecola lives in a very
abusive household and always wonders to herself, what if she were white, what if she
had blue eyes? Would it change things, hopefully for the better?
Pecola obsesses over all things white because the town makes fun of her blackness.
Pecola is alone due to her lack of beauty. In one scene Pecola is laughed at called e
mo and other names as other black children make fun of her blackness. Morrisons
uses collective voice to show the racial segregation at the time was not only white
people, but it was the different shades of black. Something that someone cannot

about matters over which the victim had no control: the color of her skin (Morrison,

Death And Release In Night By Elie Wiesel
For most of the memoir Night by Elie Wiesel, Elie was determined to remain with
his father. During the early years of the Holocaust, Elie was separated from his
mother and sisters, and the fear of losing his father as well motivated him to keep
them together at all costs. That grit very well may have been what kept him alive.
Eventually, his father s willpower deteriorated along with his health, making him
more of a burden than a tether by the end of the book. That being said, this situation
demonstrates the idea of death and release, a recurring theme present in the
conclusion of Night. In the final chapters, prisoners from Buna on their way to a
liberation camp struggled to survive the grueling journey. Many found death as a sort

What would he do without me? I was his sole support (86 87). This quote

suffered from. However, his father inspired him to continue fighting. Without Elie,
how would his father live? This question pushed Elie to continue running throughout
the entirety of the night until the SS Soldiers determined he could stop. He ran so

another prisoner, Rabbi Eliahu, had asked everyone around him if they had seen

watching him distance himself from his father. When considering the betrayal, Elie
thought, [Rabbi Eliahu s son] had felt his father growing weaker and, believing that
the end was near, had thought by this separation to free himself of a burden that
could diminish his own chance for survival (91). This quote presents another
situation exemplifying the aforementioned idea of a loved one becoming a burden.
The heartbreaking reality of what the rabbi s son had done prompted Elie to pray to
a god he no longer believed in. He asked for the strength to never abandon his father

Moths Interpretation Essay
Nature is the most beautiful as well as the most dangerous thing. It offers a lot of
threats as well as wonders. The human is the humble creature who might only see
the nature by its dark side. We are living the inside world, and nature is outside. We
think we are independent as we isolate ourselves. Adam Zagajewskis Moths is a
wonderful yet imagistic poem which captures a great sense of how human observed
and felt about nature: startle and tear away. It offers the readers a snapshot view of
a moment, an experience when our little worlds of safety met the unknown world
outside. If one does not prepare to deal with these things, he/ she will withdraw even
more. The poem begins with a dark scenery. The author and his group sit inside...

I believe the Zagajewski intended to put the same sentences at the beginning and the
end of the poem. This created a continuing effect. Throughout the poem, the moths
were still watching them. While the human is growing more and more inside, the
moths are still watching them. The author stated in August because during this time
period is the moths season. We can see them everywhere. Whenever there is a light,
they will fly toward it, try to get in and burn themselves. In the poem, the moths were
flying toward the bright light from the window of the author. They are pursuing
something else, not just the empty light rays. It was an amazing poem because by a
simple moment, the author could develop something deep and majestic, which brings

Battle of Bunker Hill
What would it be like to go to Bunker Hill? What would it be like to go to Breed s
Hill? Well, there was a battle called Battle of Bunker Hill that is a famous battle in
history. The Battle of Bunker Hill has many leaders, causes, effects and events that
lead to fight.
There were very few causes. Well to begin with, History.com says that Prescott, one of
the Patriots leaders, heard that the British were coming. So Prescott got prepared.
Although different sites say different causes. Ushistory.com states that the British
were threatening the Patriots. So of course, the patriots were determined to win.
There were also many men in this battle. According to the text, The American
Revolution, confirms Washington sent 1,000 men to defend for Bunker Hill. He
ignored orders and decided to fight for Breed s Hill, which was closer to the Boston
Harbor, 68.
There were main leaders on each side. For example, Encyclopedia Americana, says
on the British side Thomas Gage and General Howe lead the soldiers. They ordered
them to fire, get in columns, march and many more things. Howe was sent with
1,600 men to out number the Patriots. There was also a man named Artemas Ward
and he made an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Modeling and Simulation
Modeling and Simulation
A Simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real world process or system over
time. It involves the generation of an artificial history of a system and observation of
the artificial history to draw inferences concerning the operating characteristics of the
real system. Simulation can be used both as an analysis tool for predicting the effect
of changes to existing systems and as a design tool to predict performance of new
systems under varying sets of circumstances

indicating an individual s predictions about how a system will operate 4. By
compressing or expanding time simulation allows you to speed up or slow down
phenomena so that you can thoroughly investigate them.

Global Illlumination Despite Self-Illumination Analysis
Global Illumination Though Self illumination.
For some education is a foregone conclusion, particularly those who are wealthy and
have means to attend an institution of higher learning. Education is not the sole
purview of the wealthy while having means provides a lower bar for entry, lack of
means does not prevent one from enlightening the self. Such is the case for both
Frederick Douglas and Malcolm X, two men who enlightened themselves without
access to the wealth that tethers education to those of the upper class. Hard work and
determination can win the day and bestow a freedom that only an advanced
education offers. These two men are shining examples of what can be accomplished
when someone refuses to be denied an education. This story tells about, Malcolm X
and Fredrick Douglas, and how they found themselves trapped, uninformed, and rose
above their demographics.
Malcolm X was an African American convict who educated himself during his
prison sentence. He focused on the study of the civil rights of African Americans.
The illumination of Malcolm X began when he went to Charlestown Prison.
Behind a string of robberies targeting wealthy whites. Malcolm is often quoted as
saying, It had really begun back in the Charlestown Prison . (437) He met a man
named Bimbi being more knowledgeable than Malcolm X this inspired his self
education. He read every book he could get his hands on. Malcolm X could not
understand what he read. Realizing he needed to broaden his vocabulary he
Why Are Women More Prone To Cellulite Than Men
Cellulite affect both women and men at different age and sizes, but women are more
commonly to have it than men. Why are women more prone to cellulite than men?
Below the human skin there is a layer of tissue that is used to attach the skin to the
muscle. In women this connective tissue runs vertically and as it attach to the skin, it
creates chambers that trap and squeeze fat to produce cellulite. But in men this tissue
has a diagonal (cross pattern) that is smooth and continuous. Some Causes of

Each mind is a world. Who am I? What am I doing? Where am I going? These are
questions that should arise when speaking of identity, a sense of belonging, or

Obstacles For Women s Participation
Obstacles to Women s Participation in Sports
The obstacles to women s participation in sports are categorised into three and these
are financial, non support and time. Financial Influence
Findings from the study indicate that playing sport requires an ability to pay for
facilities and services. Participants complain that the high cost involved in paying for
the facilities serve as a deterrent to their sports participation especially for those who
have limited income. Non affordability and inability to pay on time to play truncates
regular participation. The services that participants say they require include:
employing highly skilled and qualified professionals (coach, instructors, and etcetera),
a physiotherapist, equipment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a major challenge for them. Mothers in situations like this say, what they
normally do is to save up towards payment of registration fees. This creates the
problem of irregular participation for them since they have to wait and not play until a
period they are able to raise money for the payments. Findings in the study show that
participants who have the habit of impulse spending, tend to unavoidably find
themselves spending more than their budget can support. They end up with financial
troubles especially during sales periods for sports products. For moms, kids also add
to the financial troubles in the case where kids want their moms to buy items they did
not budget for. Buying sale items and customized items which participants actually do
not need or not plan for increase the financial burden of participants. This situation
makes it more expensive and more difficult for participants to afford as they should
and play as they wish. Additional cost and miscellaneous spending on items like diet
/drinks, and memorabilia associated with play go on to increase the cost of
participation. For the team and non team participants interested in owning or renting
equipment, it is very challenging because participants complain that apart from the
high cost, time becomes an issue since participants will have to wait for their turn to
rent. The circumstance of this nature ends up altering play. Even though there is
availability and access

Crucifixion By Giotto Di Bondone Essay
There are many different aspects to the mystery of god and many people believe in
different things. Our understanding of the ideal representation of the wonder and awe
in the mystery of god is the trinity where there are three aspects. Through the artwork
of Crucifixion by Giotto di Bondone portrays God, is divine and Trinitarian. The
mystery of God is reflected in the picture of Crucifixion painted by Giotto Di
Bondone as the image explains the core Catholic Christian belief in the mystery of
trinityof one God, three elements namely the creator, Jesusthe Son and the Holy Spirit.
Giotto di Bondone was an Italian painter and architect from Florence in the late
middle ages. He generally considered in the first line of great artists who contributed
to the renaissance, which is the style of the painting (Artable, n.d). He drew his
figures and their postures according to his interpretation to the nature of God. In this
artwork it speaks the trinity, three elements; with the creator being the sky, angels
representing the Holy Spirit and the human Jesus as the son on the cross. In the picture

Analysis Of A Good Man Is Hard To Find
In A Good Man is Hard to Find , by Mary Flannery O Connor religion is evident
throughout the story. A great deal of arguments can be made that this piece is
attempting to show that the grandmother is capable of change by way of grace,
therefore transforming from a flat character to a round character, I say that a leopard
never changes their spots, and that she remains a flat character through out the entire
story.
The story starts by introducing the grandmother who providing reasons on why her
son should change the families vacation from Florida to Tennessee, largely due to
The Misfit being on the loose. Unable to do so, the family starts their journey, and the
grandmother spends much of her time reminiscing her past. Along the way, the
family makes a pit stop for lunch. While there the grandmother carry s on a
conversation with Red Sammy. They share their views as well as concerns regarding
the criminal. Back in the car, with the help of her grandchildren, she convinces her
son, Bailey to go off path and stop at a plantation she once visited. As they are
traveling down the dirt road, the grandmother realizes she was incorrect, and the
plantation is elsewhere; at that same moment the cat, whom the grandmother snuck
along, jumps onto the front seat, and the car crashes into a ditch and The Misfit is
introduced. Through the twists and turns of the story, the story ends with the family
is murdered.
The story is narrated by third person, and takes place in the South.

Land Grant College Act Essay
In 1862, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Land Grant College Act into law.
This Act, also known as the Morrill Act, was named after U.S. Representative Justin
Smith Morrill from Vermont, who first introduced the bill. The Land Grant College
Act laid the groundwork for a system that funded public universities around the
country. Because of this Act, states were able to provide funding to universities as a
result of the sale of the federal land that was given to these states . This
transformation allowed higher educationto be more available and affordable to all
social classes.
After the Land Grant College Act was put into place, people initially could attend

Yes, some students may not be able to afford college, but that s what scholarships,
and loans are for. A student at Tusculum College said that she struggled daily with
money when she was young, and that she was afraid that she would not be able to
afford college. She was then awarded several scholarships and grants that covered
most of her college tuition. If students really want to be in college, they can start at a
lower cost community college and then transfer to a four year college. Another option
for students includes college courses offered at the high school level. If students
decide to do this, it could save them around a semester s worth of tuition. Also,
people say that free college will make students less in debt, but the taxes will still
put them in almost as much debt as paying for college. Free college has a lot of
negative affects that most people do not realize.
In conclusion, there are many different reasons why college shouldn t be free.
These reasons include, students not getting a higher education to set themselves
apart and everyone s taxes would raise greatly. Students would not take their
education seriously, and college would be as crazy as a headless chicken. Students
will not be as successful after college if it were free because being in college was too
easy. Those are a few reasons why college should not be

Modern Dance In The 1950 s
Modern Dance is a free expressive way style of dancing that was developed in the
early 20th century as an insurgent against ballet. Isadora Duncan, Loie Fuller, and

  • 2. Oil Conservation Essay AVO Sensitivity in a reservoir undergoing Enhanced oil recovery using steam flood Introduction Steam flooding sometimes known as a steam drive is one of the most conventional thermal EOR Enhanced oil recovery method that is applied in heavy oil reservoirs. This technique also is referred to as continuous steam injection and steam drive, where steam is injected continuously through an injection well or wells, while oil is produced via different wells where the oil is heat to higher temperatures and to thereby decrease its viscosity enhancing its hydraulic properties and allowing its flow through the surrounding formations toward the producing wells, alternatively a second mechanism is the physical displacement employing in the same ... Background and theory AVO results from energy partitioning‟, i.e. when a seismic wave hit a boundary, portion of energy is reflected and the rest propagates through. If the angle of incidence is not zero, pressure wave energy is partitioned further into reflected and transmitted as P and S components. The ratio between of the reflected and transmitted energy amplitudes is dependent on the disparity in physical properties across the boundary; mainly shear velocity (Vs), compressional wave velocity (Vp), and density (ПЃ). But, It is also notable that reflection amplitudes also depend on the angle of progation between incidence and the surface as shown in the figure. The reflection coefficient of a seismic wave reflecting off a boundary separating two medias as a product from a normal incidence, can be expressed simply as R: R=(Z_1 Z_0)/(z_1+z_0 ) where Z0 and Z1 are the acoustic impedances of the first and second medium, respectively, although this simple relation cannot be utilized in case of abnormal incidents, due to interchange conversion between P waves and S waves, and can be described by Zoeppritz equations, where the amplitudes of reflected and refracted waves at a planar interface for an incident P wave as a function of the
  • 3. Wedding Anniversaries And Traditional Gift Materials It s customary for married couples to celebrate their wedding anniversaries and tradition states that there are certain types of gifts that are appropriate to give for each anniversary. These gifts traditionally represent materials that symbolize a marriage built in strength. They appear to have evolved during medieval Europe, when women were presented with wreaths of silver for the twenty fifth anniversaries and wreaths of gold for the fiftieth. If you ve been invited to party for a couple celebrating a major wedding anniversary, use this following list of traditional gift materials coupled with updated gift ideas and you ll be certain to wow the celebrating couple. First Anniversary. The first wedding anniversary is associated with paper. You could give a card, of course, or you could push the envelope a little bit (quite literally, in fact) with a stationary set customized with the couple s initials. An inspiring book about love also makes a great paper gift. Second Anniversary. It is tradition to give a gift of cotton for a second anniversary. Clothing may be too personal of a gift to give, although, if you re close to the couple, a set of matching pajamas would make a charming gift. If that s too intimate, opt for a decorative pillow with some sort of inscription of love of heart on it. Third Anniversary. Leather is the custom for this one. Today it easy to find stylish, leather adorned items for the home. Try a large picture frame or photo album. If you re
  • 4. How To Be A Large Animal Veterinarian Essay Large Animal Veterinarian Every since I was a little girl I had always wanted too be a veterinarian. I did not know what type of veterinarian but I knew I wanted to be one. As I started to get older I realized what type of vet I wanted to be. A large animal veterinarian. Because the I could work with cattle, horses, sheep, goats, and pigs. Being a large animal vet consists of many challenging things. It also includes late night calls, surgeries on the farm, and many other last minute operations. I love animals and I really enjoy working them. I know that when I become a veterinarian I will have fun and love what I am doing. I also have plans on going to Iowa State University. ISU is known for their animal medicine. One, your patients do not talk. Two, horses and cows are dangerous animals. Three, the animal might not be trained and a big animal that is not trained just makes it ten times more deadly. Those are just a few reasons why being a large animal vet is challenging. Every summer the vet comes to my house to give all my show cows their yearly shots and medications. I help Dan (the vet) give the cows their shots. It is very exciting but also hard. Because the cows are always moving especially if the cow is not halter broke. LAst summer my main show cow Minnie got a really bad case of warts. Minnie had to be on medication for almost two months. The vet had to come out to my house twice too remove Minnie s moles. I got the amazing opportunity to help Dan work on Minnie. It was very challenging because Minnie does not like the vet at all. She kept trying to back away. We had to remove the warts on her face. We ended up having too do it at the beginning over summer and a week before fair. Becoming a large animal veterinarian is going too be very
  • 5. The Merits Of Teacher Performance Pay THE MERITS OF TEACHER PERFORMANCE PAY IN KENYA Introduction This paper discusses the merits of performance pay for teachers in Kenya. I argued here that remuneration reforms for civil service teachers will achieve production efficiency. This paper has three main sections. Section 1 gives a brief description of the scheme of service for teachers in Kenya. Section 2 highlights the economic case in favour of teacher salaries and identifies the government failures in ensuring teacher effectiveness. Section 3 offers a criticism of teacher performance pay as a reform strategy in determining teacher efficiency in Kenyan public schools. This section further delves into the issues that affect effective teacher performance pay systems and reflect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The salary system is in ascending order in the scale of eleven job groups. The highest paid teacher, chief principal (job group R) is at grade 11.The lowest paid teacher, a P2 (job group F) is at grade 1. In addition to the basic salary, teachers are paid allowances with allocations relative to the job group standing, this include; house allowance, commuter allowance, medical allowance, responsibility allowances. Teachers are entitled to an automatic annual salary increase of about 4% for every year of service (Teachers Service Commission, 2012 p 1 24). Duflo et al (2012), elaborates on teacher recruitment and salaries in Kenya; illustrates the central role played by the Teachers Service Commission in teacher management and trade union representation is highlighted to show how the wage system works (Duflo et al, 2012). Michael and Mathew (2007) underscore that salary schemes for teachers are almost a worldwide characteristic of public schools. They rely on data from national surveys that indicate that 100% of teachers in public schools are paid using a pay set salary system (Michael and Mathew, 2007). Glazerman et al, (2011) argue that the single salary system was created to address equity issues and has spread over the globe, where teachers regularly get paid based on qualification and experience as opposed to the measure of teacher effectiveness and their students results. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Ashley, et al., 2001) The degree of control is significant element of sustainability and the debate is how local communities should be involved in the sustainable development of tourism in their area. If sustainable tourism development is successful, it may help pro poor tourism to reduce the poverty in different levels. (Mowforth Munt, 2003) To achieve the sustainable tourism in poor regions tourism development needs to be well planned and managed and the overall environmental quality needs to be maintained and improved. Poverty reduction impacts should be taken into consideration when assessing sustainability. (WTO, 2002) e. It also recognises the difficulties of community tourism, for example a lack of awareness, lack of information or training and lack of access to finance. • 8. Nursing Life In Nursing Watching someone die is a situation I will never get used to. I know it is part of life and part of nursing as well. I feel nurses help guide their patient s in healing and even the end of life stages. Nurses are advocates the patients and offer a hand to help in comforting. Death can be uplifting knowing the patient is able to let go and they are no longer in pain. As someone passes, they look peaceful, relieved and happy which is a beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time. According to our class s textbook, Called to Care: A Christian Worldview for Nursing , Death is universal, it is often called the, great equalizer. Many times, nurses feel guilty because they think they should have done more for the patient. (Shelly, 2006). I know I have been there myself. My goal is to help in curing the patient or getting them better than before they were admitted. Also, to help them recover from the surgery. When I first started nursing as a floor nurse, my intenetions were to help patients get better, well I did not expect some to die from complications or just from end stages of like such as Hospice. Like other people, the suffer from agony of death because life has meaning, relationships have depth and importance, and we are strongly aware of all unfinished business in this life. • 9. Compare And Contrast Distance Running And Cycling Distance running and cycling first began and were introduced as sports, in the 1800 s when the first Olympic Games took place. Since then, these sports have become increasingly well known around the world and in society. Distance running, and road racing cycling have many different components including the types of equipment s used, muscles worked, VO2 max levels, the weather each sport can occur in, etc. Although these two sports are quite different, they are both well known and loved by the many individuals who take part in a healthy sporting lifestyle. By analyzing the nutritional requirements, common injuries, and legal and/or illegal performance enhancing drugs, many differences and similarities can be discovered and revealed regarding these two sport activities. Proper nutrition is one of the most essential elements to being healthy and living a long life. Choosing better decisions with your nutrition and hydration can result in improved performance, injury prevention and recovery. Both professional road racing cyclists and marathon runners follow specific diets to obtain their careers as athletes, so they can continue to do what they love. Cycling and running are both considered endurance sports that require similar nutritional requirements when training, during, and after the activity. Carbohydrates play a significant role in these two sports as they provide energy for the central nervous system and help maintain essential glycogen stores within the muscles,
  • 10. African American Women And The Collective Psyche Of... African American women have been purposefully written out of visual history with the exception of scripted roles that have been predetermined by stereotypical scripts that are imbedded in the collective psyche of American audiences beginning in the 1890s. Dorothy Dandridge was a sensational performer that commanded attention and left her audiences awestruck on screen and in life. At the age of eleven, I recall sitting in front of the television for a special televised movie, called Introducing Dorothy Dandridge. The film opens with a somber score and voiceover of Dorothy (Halle Berry) asking the audience, Have you ever caught sight of yourself by accident... And, you see yourself from the outside... That s who you really are... That question captured my wondering eleven year old mind and immediately pulled me into the world of a woman who was familiar to me. She was familiar in her storytelling and questioning even before an image broke the continuity of credits on flashing on the screen. My mother has always loved mirrors. In one room there would be at least two mirrors suspended on the walls. I have caught many glimpses of myself over the years, so I knew exactly what she meant in asking the question. It s a question that continues to be answered by Hollywood of black women, but without their input or consent. The question is why? On November 9, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio a star was born, Ms. Dorothy Dandridge. Ms. Dandridge s manager and close friend, Earl Mills recounts
  • 11. Alcohol Use Disorder Essay Alcohol use disorder (AUD) has a major national health impact in the United States, affecting over 17 million people, causing more than 100,000 deaths and costing over $200 billion annually (Bouchery et al., 2011; Grant et al., 2004; Hardwood, 2000). Alcohol use and abuse is currently the third leading risk factor for premature death and composed of nearly 4% of all deaths worldwide (World Health Organizations). Despite a large amount of effort focusing on the development of new medications for AUD, currently there are only 3 FDA approved treatments on the market, all of which have only yielded limited success even when combined with psychosocial support (Harris et al., 2010; Litten e al., 2012). This is evident by the high rates of uncontrolled heavy drinking that continue to persist and the high relapse rate in patients even after long term inpatient treatment and support (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration). As such, novel approaches that allow for rapid development of new and effective medication to treat and/or prevent AUD is an important public health goal (Bouchery et al., 2011; Heilig and Egli, 2006; Johnson, 2010; Johnson et al., 2007; Steensland et al., 2007). Using a translational approach to address this issue, our... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In several animal and in vitro models, MOX has been shown to have superior BBB penetration while having a superior margin of safety when compared to IVM (Prichard et al., 2012; Janko et al., 2012; Menez et al. 2012, Kiki Mvouaka S et al., 2010). Despite reaching higher levels in the brain compared to IVM, the potential greater margin of safety for MOX is thought to be linked to its lower intrinsic activity at certain relevant receptors in the brain including GABAARs (Janko et al., 2012; Menez et al. 2012) and also possibly acting on P2X4 receptors
  • 12. A Rhetorical Analysis Of Song Lyrics I m inspired by this song to keep my head up high, not to give up so easily. Reading the lyrics and taking notice in the music introduced me to a different concept, despite how hard times can get, someone else is having a tough time also. I ve found interest in her overall message, sharing her struggle and hurt with her audience brings a deeper connection, other than singing a songshe has no relation with. Her experience with hurt spoke to me as a fellow singer, it encouraged my life lessons from past hurts to say a little pray, and depend solely on faith. In modern society, it is necessary to be able to send and receive data quickly in order to keep up with the rest of the world. With so much technology at our fingertips, it is almost unheard of for someone to be without a device that can connect the Internet. The technology that allows these devices to communicate with one another is known as the Internetof Things. Because of this concept, people are now able to exchange information faster than ever before. The idea of machines being able to communicate with each other has been around since the early 1800s. In 2014, the industry was the third fastest growing in terms of devices with IoT connections, according to a report by Verizon Communications. More and more consumers are using devices that can connect to the Internet, and are therefore being exposed to the content put out by businesses. Because the industry already has most of the resources necessary to implement IoT, businesses can gain valuable information on their customers. Businesses can use this data and analyze it in order to deliver their advertisements in a way that is more tailored to the consumer. • 14. Chivalry In The Song Of Roland ( Le Chanson De Roland Chivalry and culture transformed the High Middle Ages in the Song of Roland (Le Chanson de Roland) because of the fact that it provides built in drama for the poets and storytellers. This was originally a song that s passed down by minstrels and later written down by monks around the twelfth century. Chivalry is a set of systems and social codes governing the behavior of knights and gentlewomen. It also includes a set of oaths of one s loyalty in regards to the overlord and observing certain warfare. Throughout the poem/song, it showcases the characteristics of a perfect knight in that day and age. The book differs from real events by changing some aspects of location, ethnics, and the time period. In the real events that actually happened, Charlemagne s men were fighting against the Basques. On the other hand, in the book they were fighting the Muslims during the time of the Crusadesto make it more exhilarating. At this point in time fighting on horseback became increasingly popular, but the events that actually happened were all of the battles were fought on foot. Another reason why they changed it is that of propaganda towards the Crusades. Save Saragossa in its high mountain place/Marsilion holds it, the king who hates God s name. At the present time, people would prefer to read or listen to the stories about betrayal and fighting compared to stories that would stay true to the fault. Besides, Charlemagne was a Christian king that conquered a lot of the territory and Marsilion was a Muslim king that wanted his land back but he didn t want war to come with it. Another contrast of the book and the true events would be Charlemagne s true age. At Charlemayne, that is so old and hoar/I know he s lived two hundred years and more. Charlemagne lived between the years of 768 814 AD (he died approximately the age of 46 years old). But in the book, they depict him as a 200 year old emperor that will eventually fight an 800 year old Emir of Babylon. This would captivate the audience for the purpose of current events that were happening during the twelfth century. Once again this was propaganda for the Crusades to promote the Christians fighting in the Holy Land in the Middle East against the Muslims. This
  • 15. Analysis Of Milan Kundera s Unbearable Lightness Of Being In Unbearable Lightness of Being, Milan Kundera uses the contrasting ideas of lightness and weight to signify ones existence. Kundera disagrees with Frederich Nietzsche s concept of Eternal Return, and believes that instead of one s existence being a recurring event with little to no change in detail our lives only happen once, meaning every action or decision in a life has a very brief existence. The novel introduces us with Tomas, who is an extremely light character, with few emotional ties to people, with a enormous need for many lovers. For him, love and sex are separate entities. He loves Tereza, a single woman, but will sleep with a large amount of other women throughout his life. The arrival of Tereza then directly signifies a new addition of weight into Tomas life. She is described as The two of them got into his car, which was parked in front of the house, and drove to the station. There he claimed the suitcase (it was large and enormously heavy) and took it and her home. (Kundera, Milan, and Michael Heim Henry. The Unbearable Lightness of Being. page 9 10) Tereza has packed up what we consider is a large amount of her belongings, moving her life into Tomas , in a large and enormous and heavy suitcase. Metaphors In Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God Throughout the Eighteenth Century, religion fought a battle against science and those who did not stand with the church were not looked at as ethical people. In the sense that they could not possibly be good people if the did not live for God instead of themselves. Atheists were not the only group of people who were disliked even Quakers and Jews who did not share the same God were looked down upon. Jonathan Edwards made the message clear in his sermon that those who did not go to church and live for God were enemies of God. The church and its followers started to make the idea known to others that God would send them to hell for entirety unless they came back to God as quickly as possible and repented. In his famous sermon Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God . Jonathan Edwards puts fear in all those who do not follow the word of God by talking about hell and the punishment that unrepentant humans deserve. His metaphors including those about hell, the wrath of God and the unworthiness of humans is successful in scaring the unrepentant to turn back to God and as for forgiveness. In one metaphor Edwards creates a clear image for his congregation when he explains that unrepentant sinners are like heavy lead plunging toward hell without the help of God. Edwards writes, Your wickedness makes you as it were heavy as lead, and to tend downwards with great weight and pressure towards hell; and if God should let you go, you would

Some changes were made of the Gantt chart due to the decision made of removing the PCB board and microcontroller out of the project which gave more time for the transmission medium and Arduino Uno software. Also, the design layout for the protoboard took over some of the time of the PCB board design. For most of the time, the team was behind, but after getting a working transmission medium design, the group was on track for finishing the project. However, it is obvious that the narrator is a member of this town, as he is using personal pronouns like we and our . Furthermore, one might get the impression that the narrator is all knowing because he seems to know many details that he could only know if he either experienced the events himself or is omniscient. For example, on page 121 in the first paragraph, the narrator describes a visit of the Board of Aldermen at Miss Emily s. This could be a first hint to the narrator s real identity. Except for the men of the Board of Aldermen and Miss Emily, there was only one more person present: Tobe, Miss Emily s black

This paper reviews an article written by Elza Venter from the Department of Psychology of Education at the University of South Africa. The article is titled Bridging the communication gap between Generation Y and the Baby Boomer generation. The article examines the generational communication gap between generation Y and the Baby Boomer generation with the intention to suggest ways to bridge the gap. Venter (2016) argues that meaningful communicationbetween the two generations is important because they have connected channels of communication and the two can give meaning to each other s lives. For instance, Baby Boomer are the parents, employers, lecturers and teachers of Generation Y (Venter, 2016: 2). However, the two generations do not always maintain good channels of communication. According to Venter (2016) the baby boomer generation and Generation Y often times find themselves engaged in conflict as a result generational differences. In order to understand the communication gap between the two generations, Venter (2016) studied interpersonal communication style of the each generation. In a growing number of countries, the expansion of the financial services sector has been accompanied by a significant blurring of lines between different institutional types with, for instance, retail banks offering insurance products (bancassuarance), insurance companies offering bank accounts and supermarkets launching their own credit cards. As a consequence, individual organizations can no longer claim a distinctive market position based on the products they offer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example: money transfer agents, commission payment agents... Rationale for banking agents Banking agents help financial institutions to divert existing customers from crowded branches providing a complementary , often more convenient channel. Other financial institutions, especially in developing markets, use agents to reach an additional client segment or geography. Reaching poor clients in rural areas is often prohibitively expensive for financial institutions since transaction numbers and volumes do not cover the cost of a branch. In such environments banking agents that piggy back on existing retail infrastructure and lower set up and running cost can play a vital role in offering many low income people their first time access to a range of financial services. Also, low income clients often feel more comfortable banking at their local store than walking into a marble branch. Banking agents are the backbone of mobile banking, i.e., performing transactions over a mobile device, most often a mobile phone. To enable clients to convert cash into electronic money and vice versa which can send be sent over their mobile phone, clients will have to visit a branch, automated teller machine (ATM), or banking agent. Especially in remote and rural locations, where cash is still the most important way to pay and transact, a mobile banking service is dependent on

Analysis Of The Bluest Eye In The Bluest Eye, Pecola the protagonist is taken under the Macteer family s wing much like The African family is community based and the nurturing quality is not contained within the nuclear family, but is rather the responsibility of the entire community (Ranström). In traditional Africa each child has a place and is welcome in the community. The act of parenting another child was not odd because every adult that lived in each community believed that any child is welcome in anyone s home. This, however, is not the case for Pecola. Although traditional African culture was integrated into The Bluest Eye, it was not fully combined. Pecola lives in a very abusive household and always wonders to herself, what if she were white, what if she had blue eyes? Would it change things, hopefully for the better? Pecola obsesses over all things white because the town makes fun of her blackness. Pecola is alone due to her lack of beauty. In one scene Pecola is laughed at called e mo and other names as other black children make fun of her blackness. During the early years of the Holocaust, Elie was separated from his mother and sisters, and the fear of losing his father as well motivated him to keep them together at all costs. That grit very well may have been what kept him alive. Eventually, his father s willpower deteriorated along with his health, making him more of a burden than a tether by the end of the book. That being said, this situation demonstrates the idea of death and release, a recurring theme present in the conclusion of Night. This quote demonstrates how Elie didn t want to live because of the harrowing pains he suffered from. However, his father inspired him to continue fighting. Without Elie, how would his father live? This question pushed Elie to continue running throughout the entirety of the night until the SS Soldiers determined he could stop. He ran so that he and his father could survive. Together. As Elie ran with his father, he witnessed someone running away from theirs. Following the events of that night, another prisoner, Rabbi Eliahu, had asked everyone around him if they had seen his son. After answering no, Elie recalled not only spotting the rabbi s son but watching him distance himself from his father. When considering the betrayal, Elie thought, [Rabbi Eliahu s son] had felt his father growing weaker and, believing that the end was near, had thought by this separation to free himself of a burden that could diminish his own chance for survival (91). This quote presents another situation exemplifying the aforementioned idea of a loved one becoming a burden.
