1. Essays About Love
Crafting an essay on the theme of love can be a challenging endeavor, as the concept of love is
both complex and multifaceted. Love transcends conventional boundaries, encompassing a
spectrum of emotions, experiences, and relationships. The difficulty lies in capturing the essence
of such a profound and abstract concept within the confines of an essay.
Firstly, defining love itself proves to be a daunting task, as it eludes a singular, universally
accepted definition. Love manifests in various forms - romantic, familial, platonic - each
carrying its own set of intricacies and nuances. Attempting to encapsulate the entirety of this
spectrum within the limited scope of an essay requires careful consideration and thoughtful
exploration.
Furthermore, the subjective nature of love adds another layer of complexity. What may be a
profound expression of love for one person might not resonate in the same way for another.
Thus, striking a balance between personal perspectives and a broader understanding of love
challenges the writer to navigate a delicate equilibrium.
Moreover, delving into the historical, cultural, and literary aspects of love demands extensive
research to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded analysis. Exploring how love has been
portrayed and understood throughout various periods in history and across diverse cultures
enriches the essay but also necessitates a commitment to scholarly investigation.
The emotional weight carried by the theme of love can also be overwhelming for the writer.
Communicating the depth of emotion associated with love requires a keen sense of empathy and
introspection. Balancing personal experiences with a broader exploration of the topic without
succumbing to sentimentality is a delicate art that demands both skill and finesse.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the theme of love presents a formidable challenge due to its
inherent complexity, subjective nature, and emotional depth. Successfully navigating these
obstacles requires a thoughtful and well-researched approach, blending personal insights with a
broader understanding of love. Ultimately, the task demands not only a mastery of language but
also a deep appreciation for the intricacies of human emotion.

2. Persuasive Essay On Standardized Test Scores
Have you ever thought about what college you want to go to after high school? In
order to get into that college, you must be accepted. Colleges look for a numerous
amount of criteria in order for you to get accepted, and one of those things colleges
look for is your standardized test score. The standardized testis a test administered
and scored in a consistent, or standard , way (edglossary.org). Seeing that you must
get a high enough score on the test in order for your dream college to accept you, the
tests are difficult, but are very worth it at the end. Colleges have been accepting
students into their school with standardized testscores for more than 50 years, and
with that being said, it has seemed to work pretty well (content.time.com). In the
end, standardized test scores show that you deserve to go to that college, and is
also a way of showing that you ve worked hard for so long to accomplish
something huge. When you take a standardized test, you can show colleges what
you are capable of. If you were taking a test that decided whether or not you went to
your dream college, you would want to do the best you could, right? Showing what
you can do on these tests are very important because it can determine whether or not
you get into the school you want. Having said this, in order for you to show
colleges what you can do, you have to do your best on the tests. Colleges use the test
scores to award scholarships to students with a high enough score. Not only is your

Journal Article
Mayak Disaster
Following World War 2 in 1945 the Soviet Union began commissioning a secret
nuclear reactor site deep in the Ural Mountains as part of an atomic bomb project.
This site was built hurriedly and in secret; five nuclear reactors were built to make,
refine, and machine plutonium for weapons in just 3 5 years. http:/
/planetliberty.wikidot.com/nuclear power incidents. When Mayak successfully
produced a nuclear bomb, Moscow demanded more weapons giving less time. In
order to deliver, Mayak disregarded basic safety and environmental standards,
leading to a series of nuclear accidents.
When the plant was first commissioned there were no controls in place to limit the
amount of radioactive materials being released. This led to the local environment
being massively contaminated, including the Techa River, which had 3 million curies
of liquid waste pumped into it between 1949 and 1956. In 1951 the waste was
directed to the Lake Karachai resulting in 120 million curies being released into its
water. The levels of Lake Karachai dropped in 1967 due to a drought which exposed
the contaminated shoreline. A windstorm dispersed 600 curies into the surrounding
environment contaminating 2700km2. http://www.radiation scott.org/mayak.htm On
the 29th September 1957 the residents of the local town, Kyshtym, noticed bluish

4. How To Capture Orca Whales
The process of imprisoning the animals begins when the aquarium hires private
contractors to capture young animals from the wild. One of SeaWorld s most well
known attractions, Shamu, was captured in this way by Ted Griffin. Griffin recalls
that in order to capture the whales, his team would use explosives to force them
into coves, where they would net the entire pod, which would often result in the
drowning of 3 5 whales every trip (Blackfish). In order to cover up the killings, the
team would then split open the whales, stuff them with rocks, and sink them in the
ocean. Once the calves are captured, they are shipped to any aquarium around the
world that pays the highest price for them, which causes an enormous amount of
distress for both the mother and her calf, due to the fact that in the wild the calf will
never leave its mothers side. This extreme act to capture the orca whales is not only
wreaking havoc amongst the orca whales but also proves to be an tremendously...

After arriving at the aquarium, the whales are put into tanks that are a maximum
of 40 feet deep and 80 feet wide, much smaller than the 100 mile area an Orca
would swim daily in the wild. To put things into perspective, the human equivalent
to these tanks would be about; 10 meters long, 6 meters wide, and 2 meters deep
(WDC), which is about the size of 2 school buses parked side by side. Among other
things, the tanks are harmful to the whales for three main reasons. The first reason is
the tanks are much too shallow for the whales to dive down into the shade of the
ocean to escape the suns hot rays. This being said, the whales are forced to stay on
the surface much more than they would in the wild, resulting in extreme sun burn.

The person who I am is composed of hundreds of identities, being a sister, a
daughter, a student, a woman, conversely, one identity transcends others being
Hispanic. Being a Hispanic means being individuals who have a rich history
preceding her that no one can deny. A history full of guidance and tradition. As part
of the Hispanic culture, there are certain foods that are not included in the wider
society. Every New Year s Eve my mom and I cook BuГ±uelos, which are fried

cultures are also immensely affectionate I always expect to greet others with
passion and affections ranging from hugs to kisses on the cheek. As part of my
heritage and culture I know that I will always have a place to come home to, my
mom will always be waiting with open arms for my return, not matter if a have a
family of my own. My family is extremely crucial, although most of my family live
in Colombia my brother and my mom are essential to who I am. For example, my
older brother moved out recently yet we still have Saturday dinners together. Being
Hispanic means being a member of a community, as I stated before, the only
immediate family I have in the Unites State is my brother and my mom nevertheless

Musical
On March 10, 2016, I visited my old high school for their annual spring musical
which includes the band and orchestra. The orchestra generally played 4 pieces
Symphony No. 5 by Beethoven, Symphony No. 9 by Beethoven, Beethoven
Symphony No.6, and Tchaikovsky No.6. The orchestra would also be playing
other various musical selections for private judges only. The school orchestra was
conducted by Sasha Brown who is also a former member of the philharmonic
orchestra. Mrs. Brown also helps assess unprivileged teens with music
scholarships, and help open up many opportunities for them. The stage was
brightly lit from both on stage and around the entire auditorium. The musicians
were arranged in a semi circle around stage. The back rows of the strings section
were seated on risers and high stools. They were all wearing silky smooth
burgundy shirts, the boys wore black pants, and the girls wore black skirts. They
seemed confident in their playing, very settled, and accustomed to being on stage.
Each student on stage had excellent posture and concentration. I was very
impressed with the level of skill they played with, being only in high school. The
music selection that was performed was classical. The orchestra was standard and
composed essentially violins, violas, cellos, flutes, and etc. First the violinist gave a
brief synopsis to the pieces they would be playing. After an overview of the program
the rest of the performers came out on stage. Once all the performers
8. The Elephant, Ivory And Trade
For many years, the population of mammals has been declining. One mammal in
particular that caught my eye was the elephant. The elephant population has been
decreasing significantly. One elephant species in exact has suffered more than others,
which is the African elephant. In Gao and Clark s words African elephants
(Loxodonta africana) are in great danger (Gao Clark, 23). This essay will review the
factors that triggers humans to kill African elephants and the main cause humans are
killing African elephants for. Although, humans might have valid reasons as to why
they kill innocent elephants, the killing of mammals doesn t service the circumstance
that the planet is losing that specific specie, which is something that it s hard to...

After, iron tools were invented, which started increasing the human densities in forest
zones (Barnes, 179). According to Barnes, human densities were low until the16th
century, right before iron tools were seen (Barnes, 179). These tools helped farmer
clear their way in the forests, making it easier for them to farm (Barnes, 179). After
the ivory demand from the Roman s, the Chinese started doing the same thing,
demanding for ivory which is still currently growing (Barnes, 178, Gao Clark, 23).
In more recent years, the ivory used has expanded in China (Gao Clark, 24). The
most common way ivory is used in China is for carving as a traditional art (Gao
Clark, 24). Ivory carving wasn t well known in the Chinese culture until later in the
1950 s, when ivory factories started establishing (Gao Clark, 24). Afterwards, ivory
carving became a major foreign currency generating industry in cities around China
(Gao Clark, 24). The industries failed a little after the Cultural Revolution that
occurred in the years between 1966 and 1976 (Gao Clark, 24). Ivory is used in many
things but the most common way the Chinese culture uses it is by the following:
figuring, ornaments, scholar s articles, and vessels (Gao Clark, 24).
As ivory started to get popular in the Chinese culture, new stores started selling
ivory. In around 1936, there has been calculated around 126 ivory facilities in Da Xin

10. The Indigenous Religions Of The World
The Indigenous Religions of the World
Throughout the world there are many various religions, some very common to you
and I. However, there are many religions that are common in several isolated places
all around the world in Japan, Australia, and the Americas. Many of these religions,
called Indigenous Religions are based on nature, and the earth. The practice of these
religions is considered sacred to the people that follow them. Many of these
indigenous people are fully sacrificed to their religion. They live their lives according
to these religions and are fully indebted to them. The four major Indigenous Religions
are Shinto, found in Japan, the Australian Aboriginal, African, and Native American.
The Native American Religion is based off of nature. Many Native Americans
believe in a Great Spirit who powers all aspects of life. This spirit, they believe,
makes its presence known through nature; plants and animals. Performing various
rituals, ceremonies, and prayers, the Native American people focus most of their
worship on important points of the agricultural and hunting seasons. Many of their
prayers are offered in song and dance form (Spielvogel) . One very well known
ceremony of the Native American people is the Sun Dance. The Sun Dance is
practiced by many tribes, even today, as a prayer for life. It is much like the Native
American s Thanksgiving. Many people may dance to pray for a relative or friend,
or to determine their place in the world, but it is their
11. Enterprise Systems Architecture Of An Organization
Enterprise Systems Architecture
Kerven Nelson
Nova Southeastern University
Enterprise system Architecture (ESA) is the overall IT system architecture of an
organization. This architecture is the key part of managing and evolving IT systems,
and therefore the business operations, of an organization. It consists of the
architectures of individual systems and their relationships in the perspective of an
organization. The Air Force has a limited idea of what enterprise architectureis, how
it works, and most importantly, why it is needed.
The point of this paper is to discuss these key questions, to present some guidelines
for implementation of enterprise architecture, and make people aware of some of the
possible consequence of enterprise architecture development. Architecture is known
to be necessary when considering the design of a new building. However, architecture
is equally as important when considering the design and creation of a composite
system within a business. Whether a business is expanding or new area is being
planned, the same issues must be considered (e.g. integrated services, interoperable
systems, and efficient operations). The end result of architecture is the arrangement
of mechanisms under familiar principles that ease change management and ensure
integrated and successful operation. The Federal Chief Information Officer (CIO)
council considers an enterprise as an organization supporting a defined business scope
and task and contains

The best thing about my job, though, is stopping at the end of the day and rejoining
the human universe. Orson Scott Card. Known as one of the best fictional writers
to exist, Card brings people into a whole new world with his novels (Enders). Card s
life is full of ups and downs and he experiences a broad range of different
experiences. Card s life includes many different aspects via his biography, the time
of which he lives in, and what impact he has left on the world. Card grew up in
Richland, Washington, on the date of Aug 24, 1951 (Orson). Card was named
after his grandfather who was named Orson Rega Card (Orson Scott). Card s father
was a professor so he always wanted to to grow up and follow in the steps of his
father (Orson). Card thought of his dad as a role model and always wanted to do
what his father always did. Because Card was more sophisticated as a child he
always fit in better with adults (Orson Scott).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Card and his family moved to Arizona (Orson Scott Card) where Card entered into

into the teen years, his life changed and many experiences shaped his world. First
off, mormonism influenced Card more than anything else in his life up to this
point. The Book of Mormon, Card says, is the most influential book that he has
ever read. Along with that, the act of being part of the Mormon community helped
Card gain a sense of belonging (Orson Scott Card). Card went to BYU for
Archeology, but quickly dropped that and got his BA in Theatre and cinema (Orson).

14. Football Concussionss And Concussions
Questions like What day is it? , or What time is it? can be good indicators, as
someone with a concussion will likely lose their short term memory ability
temporarily. The best way to deal with someone that has a concussion is to be patient
with them because they will have a hard time right after getting a concussion
remembering anything. Even after discussing ALS, CTE, and concussions and head
trauma, why is it that so far, only the NFL has taken a step in the right direction with
new helmets for their players?
The one set apart from football, is that it requires equipment for protection unlike
soccer, where the players wear only shin guards to protect their legs from other
players. Even in sports like lacrosse, there is minimal protective gear given to
athletes. The most likely athletes to get ALS, CTE or Concussions are boxers. Their
job is all about hitting their opponent until he is knocked out, or the rounds end.
Unconsciousness is one of the side effects of a concussion and there seems to be a
connection between boxing and CTE as well, except CTE is contracted through
multiple hits to the head without unconsciousness. The NFL seems to be the only
national sports league that has started taking steps to reduce the risk of concussions,
or an ALS/CTE diagnosis. No other league in any other sport has even changed the
rules of the game to make it safer for the athletes. In looking at each of the popular
sports in the world, it would be hard to change the rules because

Indignation, by Philip Roth, is narrated by Marcus Messner, a young man from
Newark, New Jersey, set in the early 1950 s. Marcus is dead, reflecting on the
critical events of his life leading up to his downfall. He believes these events were
causally related; if one event in his life ended differently, his death could have
been avoided. Marcus laments his misfortune as an unlucky soul. His mother calls
him defiant, as if it is a natural characteristic that all Messners, and followers of
Bertrand Russell inherently possess. While Marcus sees himself as a victim,
deprived of his true potential, the reality is in stark contrast. He is not a victim of a
series of mishaps ; Marcus died because of his failure to understand people and his...

His lack of understanding and his running from problems does not end with his

16. Shinto Vs Buddhism Essay
Temple and shrine are both used interchangeably because many visitors to Japan can
t tell the difference. To point out, using these terms interchangeably is like saying a
church and synagogue are equivalent. In Japan, there are two major religions
practiced by the Japanese people. A shrine is where Shintois practiced and Buddhism
is practiced at a temple.
Both Shinto and Buddhism date back to thousands of years. Shinto, a spiritual
principle, is an ancient religion of Japan based on the belief that powerful deities
called kami (gods) inhabit both heaven and earth. According to mythology, various
kanami were worshipped by their own individual clans. They often built shrines
dedicated to their chosen kami and utilized a shaman or diviner to ... Show more

It gained wide acceptance in the following century when the nobility advocated it.
BukkyЕЌ, a combination of two words, is the Japanese word for Buddhism. Butsu
translates to Buddha and kyЕЌ means doctrine.
In Japan, most people practice both faiths ambiguously as they are nearly parallel to
one another. Shinto primarily focuses on earthly matters, and shrines are often used
to host weddings or pray for good fortune. Whereas Buddhism is considered the
religion of spiritual beliefs and practices. Temples usually host funerals and are a
place to pray for ancestors.
You are probably at a Shinto shrine if you cross the threshold of a torii gate, see a
pair of guardians (usually dogs or lions) sitting on each side of the entrance, and
cleanse your mouth and hands at a purification fountain before prayer. Shinto shrines
have the suffix jingu , such as Ise Jingu.
The name of Buddhist temples use the suffix ji , such as Todaiji. You may find
yourself at a Japanese temple if you see an image of the Buddha, as this is always
housed at a Buddhist temple. A large incense burner is usually located at the front of
the temple; it is believed that the smoke has healing properties. On top of that, there
is often a pagoda at a Buddhist
17. Robert Cohn Vs Robert Cohn
Moving on to the next character that struggles with his identity, Robert Cohn,
much like Jake, wrestles with the question of is he a bull or is he a steer? While,
unlike Jake, he is capable of sexual relations and has an affair with Brett, Cohn
delivers the ironic statement that it s no life being a steer , hinting at his
insecurity in terms of his masculinity (Hemingway 145). On the surface, it would
appear that Cohn does not have adequate reason to be insecure about who he is as
a person. After all, he suffers no side effects from the war and is able to live his
life as he pleases, dissimilar to Jake. But Cohn is set apart from the others in the
story. Gross brilliantly puts into words just how subtle this differentiation can be
by stating how natural it seems . . . to call Jake Barnes Jake, Mike Campbell Mike,
Bill Gorton Bill, Lady Brett Ashley Brett, and how unnatural . . . to call Robert
Cohn Robert (123). He then follows this up with the assertion that Jake, and
everyone else, calls Cohn Cohn to distance him (Gross 123). Another aspect of this
differentiation results from Cohn s status as the only Jew in the novel. One further
distinction is the idea that Cohn has never known real love. As Jake points out in
the beginning, Cohn was married by the first girl who was nice to him , not a
woman he truly loved (Hemingway 12). Upon meeting Frances, a literary woman
who took a liking to Cohn and wanted to marry him, Cohn fancies that he was sure
he loved her
18. Analysis Of Grendel And The Novel The Land Of Stories
When the lens created by the anglo saxon society is removed the main antagonist
in the classic Beowulf, Grendel, is revealed to be a tortured beast who is targeted by
a religion crazed society. As stated by Chris Colfer in his novel The Land of Stories:
The Wishing Spell A villain is just a victim whose story hasn t been told, yet for
many this lesson falls on deaf ears (9). For many Grendelis a thing of nightmares, a
beast straight from hell that no villain can match. But when the society that
villainizes Grendel is examined more closely one realizes that Grendel is really just

Grendel s visual hallucinations could be a result of schizophrenia, migraines, or
Charles Bonnet syndrome, but whatever the cause of his hallucinations it is clear that
Grendel needs help (WebMD). Instead of ripping the arm off of schizophrenics, a
common treatment is therapy (Mayo Clinic). Rather than outcasting those with
Charles Bonnet syndrome most doctors instead treat the syndrome by encouraging
patients to spend time outdoors (Mayo Clinic). In one of the causes of Charles
Bonnet syndrome is social isolation (Mayo Clinic). Perhaps if the anglo saxon society
gave an attempt to accept Grendel and teach him their societal norms than they would
realize that Grendel is just an injured animal that needs help.
Not only did the anglo saxon society cause Grendel to develop Charles Bonnet
syndrome and treat Grendel as a social outcast, but they also torment the already hurt
beast. When hunting, most hunters aim for the quickest and most painless kill, but
when Beowulf hunts Grendel he chooses one of the longest and most painful
methods to kill Grendel. It is stated that Grendel let out horrible shrieks of pain and
defeat, (Raffel 17). Beowulf was meant to serve as an exterminator, but instead he
becomes the devil of Grendel s personal hell. He causes tears [to tear] out of
Grendel s taut throat, a ferocious beast who is known for being tough is brought to

It was a quiet morning of December 14, 2012 in Newtown, CT, USA during the
usual winter weather in New England state, with people preparing for the Christmas
holidays. What happened next has triggered consequences of starting the major
debate on gun control with the creation of a presidential task force charged with
recommending solutions to the problem of gun violence, and more specific, public
mass shootings. That is when 20 year old tall and lanky man named Adam Lanza

At the age of 18, any individual who is a legal citizen of the United States of
America has the option to vote, marry the love of their life, enter law abiding
contracts with banks, see R rated movies without the presence of an adult, serve in
any branch of the military, and buy tobacco products. These are important choices
given to those entering adulthood, but one choice not given to those who are legally
considered adults is drinking. 30 years ago this July, the National Drinking Age Act

22. The Department Of Health And Human Services
1. Describe the various missions of the Department of Health and Human Services.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has the mission of
enhancing the health and well being of all Americans. HHS is the U.S. government s
principal agency for protecting the health of Americans and is responsible for
providing essential human services for all and especially for those who are least able
to help themselves. The Department manages programs that cover all spectrums of
activities that impact healthcare, patient safety, and public health. HHS, though its
programs and partnerships, provide health cover to more than 100 million people
through Medicare and Medicaid, promote patient safety and health care quality in
health care settings, protects vulnerable individuals and communities from poor
health treatment, and leverages health information technology to improve the
quality of care for all (HHS, 2015). Though it s programming and other activities,
HHS works closely with state, local, and federal agencies to strengthen health care,
advance scientific knowledge, advance health care and safety, and ensure
transparency, accountability and effectiveness of all HHS programs. HHS s overall
mission is to help American s live healthy lives by providing millions of children,
families, and seniors with access to high quality health care, affordable child care,
and by pushing the boundaries of how we diagnose and treat disease.

23. The Effect Of Natural Selection
i.Evolution refers to change over time due to natural selection as organisms adapt and
diverge to produce multiple descendant species (Huxley L., Walter M., 2005, p. 698).
Two pillars which form the basis of all current knowledge of evolution originate from
the historical record of evolutionary change, fossil record and the study of the process
of evolutionary change, specifically the effect of natural selection. Recent
developments in science, including molecular and developmental biology, have
greatly contributed to the understanding of biological diversity and how evolution
has changed multiple species, particularly the humanspecies (Losos J., 2014, pp. 3).
ii. The concept of natural selection was partially introduced by naturalist Charles
Darwin in 1859 when he proposed and provided scientific evidence to describe
evolution as the idea that all species have evolved over time from common ancestors
through the process of natural selection. To survive in a particular environment,
Darwin s theory proposes that natural selection is the mechanism where organisms
must possess attributes that increase their chance of survival in that environment
(Chidrawi G., Robson M., Hollis S., 2010, pp 114). Therefore, there will be a
tendency for these attributes to be perpetuated and other less appropriate attributes to
be lost from the population over successive generations (Huxley L., Walter M., 2005,
pp. 698, 704). iii. Fossils are the remains of dead plants and animals that have not
24. The Battle Of The Invasion Of Normandy
After Marshal Montgomery blockaded Rommel, whose fame was generally known
as the Desert Fox with the navy and the air force in the Strait of Sicily for more than
100 days, the Allies won the North African Campaign on May 13, 1943. As the Allies
freed for further action with the victories of about 250,000 German and Italian troops
surrendered on the north coast of Africa, the British and the American strategists
were facing two options as their huge army quartered in the southern Mediterranean
(www.history.com). One of the option was put forward by the American chief,
suggesting that the Allies should transfer their forces north for the impending
invasion of Europe from the English Channel. Even though this suggestion was
disapproved by the English chief who held the opinion that the Allies should strike
the Europe from the southern Italy, this strategy was later known as the Invasion of
Normandy that completely helped the Allies win the WW II. The option that the
British chief favor for finally became the strategy of the Allies first step invasion in
Europe because it not only utilized the fighter cover from air bases on British Malta,
60 miles south of Sicily, but also saved the Allies shipping to the English Channel as
the American chief suggested that. The strategy of pressing north into Italy was
vividly described by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill as invading the the soft
underbelly of Europe (www.history.com). The underbelly here, however, referred to

their carne asada tacos, the loud, sharp clinks of tequila glasses, and the hoarse
bangs of a piГ±ata being beaten all come hand in hand, representing a Mexican
celebration in La La Land or also known as the city of Los Angeles. The city has been
nicknamed La La Land due to its recognition of being a place full of fun and out of
touch with reality. For the past several decades, the city of Los Angeles has
increasingly become a Latino city as they hosted countless festivals to celebrate the
Mexican cultural holidays such as Cinco de Mayo, El Dia de Los Muertos and etc. In
the book, The Labyrinth of Solitude, Octavio Paz discusses the generalization of
Mexicans and emphasizes the idea of them preferring to be placed in solitude due to
their fear of intimacy. The book even discusses the roles of a Mexican fiesta and
cultural aspects of the Latino culture. By having Mexican holidays celebrated in Los
Angeles, the city has become more invested into the Latino culture with the adoption
of its cultural belief of death and celebrations techniques, which include excessively
drinking, usage of guitars, letting off fireworks and celebratory gunshots.
One depiction of Mexican holidays shaping the city of Los Angeles into a Latino city
can be seen in the Mexican holiday El Dia del Los Muertos. For instance, Mexicans
believe in the concept of death not being the end of a person s life as Paz

director, is a member of the board of GM (K), which is presently chaired by Mr.
Bernard Hinga. Mr. Hinga and most directors are Kenyans. Company Objectives
Discussing the production capacity of GM (K), Mr. Dieterich recently reported
that the Nairobi plant was operating with only one shift (It has a three shift
potential) and forecast production at 2,300 units approximately 60% of the
capacity of one shift (E.g. 800 medium duty trucks, 600 light duty trucks, 500 pick
ups, 300 utility vehicles and 100 buses). This is reportedly a 50% increase over
last year s level of production. Utilizing a greater proportion of the production
capacity would help GM (K) to fulfill a national goal of providing more jobs. Mr.
Dieterich also stated that GM (K) had a responsibility to its customers and to the
public to continually improve the quality and safety of its products to meet both
strict international and GMC parent company standards, and to maintain high levels
of service. In short, he stated that it is service and quality that really sells products.

Humans have controlled fire for thousands of years. This basis of technology has
since allowed humans to expand. Fire allowed humans to hunt during the winter and
eventually hunt in groups. These groups had to have a certain understanding to create
a society that allowed everybody to survive. Through many years a language
developed which became a basis for society. These hunter groups had evolved enough
to settle down and create agriculture. Agriculture brought in people from many
different areas, and those people eventually learned that same language. Language
helped them by assigning a position in society such as hunters, farmers, and gatherers.
As these groups expanded, the area for hunting also expanded which may have led to
the discovery of other civilizations. Language was traded between the groups and
created even more languages by combining them together. Over time these groups
took language to many different areas in the Indo European area and allowed over
500 languages to develop. Language has since been crucial to the survival of humans.
Humans would have a difficult time communicating without language, and would not

28. The Issue Of Illegal Immigrants
Introduction
The debate of who should be allowed to enter the United States has been an issue for
many years, with the large number of people entering and living here illegally this
has become a significant talking point amongst the candidates in this presidential
election. But are their views something that should be shared and supported by
Christians today? There are definitely two opposing views from Christians on this
topic. I will present both views regarding illegal immigrants in the United States and
then I will present my own opinion on this topic.
There are two points of view on the issue of illegal immigrants. One side of the
argument says that illegal immigrants should be allowed into the country and should
be able to get help from the church to obtain legal documents. The other side states
that illegal immigrants should not be allowed into the country because it is illegal
and that goes against Biblical teachings.
This debate has been going on for many years and depending on the outcome of the
elections, the issue will be resolved one of the two ways.
Argument for Illegal Immigrants
The central argument for illegal immigration is the fact that as Christians we should
love our neighbor as ourselves and foreigners are no exception. Exodus 23:21 says,
Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt . One of the
problems that arises with illegal immigration is the fact that they are usually without
money and without a place to stay. The
29. Attention With Attention Deficit Disorder
Attention Deficit and Comorbidities Normally, during a conversation, a person will
have a thought, process it, and then decided whether or not to communicate it.
However, there are those who have no choice; they speak every thought that enters
their minds, a symptom of attention deficit disorder. In the public eye, mental health
concerns have had a long and rugged history. Treatment attempts have often been
extreme and damaging, from strait jackets to lobotomies, but, in today s society, we
are headed in a more civil direction. Brain imaging, medical tactics, and therapy have
helped patients and doctors understand mental health disorders, but there are still
those who fall through the cracks. While attention deficit disorder is currently one of
the most studied mental illnesses, many children are going undiagnosed and left to
battle the burden of the impairing symptoms without any aid. The impacts of
allowing children with attention deficit disorder to go untreated will increase the
probability of a comorbid disorder in their adulthood. The media holds a prominent
role as the factor influencing who will and who will not be diagnosed. Society forms
its understanding of attention deficit disorder from the stigmata created by media
portrayal and people are then forced to make their decisions within this realm of
society. Juanne N. Clarke from the department of sociology at Wilfrid Laurier
University in Canada demonstrates in her article, Magazine Portrayal of Attention
30. The Importance Of Gospel Music
Gospel music is church music. But it has a deeper meaning than that it has a
history and it also has a race background. In general Gospel music is a genre of
Christian Music. The word Gospel means good news. Gospel music spreads a
message of christianity of God, it expresses a message of good news. Gospel Musicis
joy and hope; it helped African American slaves to go through their daily challenges
and still have hope and faith.
During the late 1800 s African American churches started developing this type of
music. Gospel music is deeply rooted in the rich traditions of the African American
church. Music is important in every aspect of life. Music expresses emotions,
suffering, hope and help people to see things from a different point of view. There
s many different type of music, and church decided to have their own music called
gospel music. Music is also entertainment, church needed their own music that they
could identify. Every type of music is important but gospel music has a lot of
importance because is related to church but also has a background race story.
Gospel music helped slaves to escape to freedom and it also helped them to see life
in a different way. It helped them to have hope and faith because gospel music is
about God and his power and miracles. Gospel music promotes hope, wisdom and
mercy. Gospel Music had always been important, since the first day it was made. It is
so important because is music with a meaning promotes things that others music don t.
31. The Instability of Female Quixote Essay
The Instability of Female Quixote
In The Female Quixote, the whimsical nature of fiction is not just a barrier to social
acceptance, but an absurdity. Following popular notions of the time, fiction is
presented as a diversion and an indulgence that cannot be reconciled with reality and
threatens the reader s perception of actual experience. The theme is common, as is
evident through the basis of this novel, Cervantes s Don Quixote, and other works
such as Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. The story is a series of examples of what
not to do, acting as both a cautionary tale and conduct guide. But there is a
fundamental instability in the work resulting from the opposition of the moral and the

33. Ivf Morality
As our contemporary world continues to progress in both the fields of biology and
medicine, the use of assisted reproductive technologies, such as IVF, is increasing.
The catholic church remains faithful towards the fundamental values of the
sacredness of life and human dignity, which is evident in their firm, opposing
responses and teachings on the moral issue of IVF.
IVF, short for in vitro fertilisation, is one of several assisted reproductive technologies
used to help infertile couples conceive a child. The procedure essentially involves
separating the act of conception and fertilisation from one another, so that
fertilisation occurs outside of the parent s body, in a scientific environment. With the

conception and instead a scientist becomes the sole, decisive factor of where life

Requiring no form of an invitation, the challenges that individuals face throughout a
lifespan are least likely to receive a warm reception. These obstacles often cause an
elevation of emotions and negative modifications to behavior which requires
positive and effective decision making methods in order to overcome. Although trial
and error through experience is often summed up by saying experience is the best
teacher (Speake, 2015), studies over the years reveal positive effects from educating
adults on how to make better decisions with the use of skills acquired in Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)
training. Albert Ellis (1955) designed CBT and REBT methods to help clients
become equipped with the acquired CBT and REBT skills so he or she can use a
pacified temperament and a clear perceptional view of his or her problematic
situation (Ellis, 1955; Albert Ellis Institute, 2014; Leong, 2008). However, with such

35. What Makes a Good Parent
To my mind, the right answer to the question What makes a good parent is not easily
obtainable. You should spend a lot of time in contemplation before reaching to it. And
still there is no guarantee that finally you will get it.
Since many people have different opinions on raising a child there may be thousands
absolutely different answers to one and the same question, a rather tricky one, I
would say.
To tell you the truth, after I asked myself the same question, several things went
through my mind. What kind of parent will I be? How will I raise a child? Can I be a
good parent? What turns ordinary people into good parents? Panic overtook me and
I felt an overwhelming desire to rush to the local bookstore to purchase loads of
parenting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this is where common sense takes over. There will be things about the
way we were raised that we liked and disliked. The areas that we did not like about
the way we were raised can be turned around when we raise our own children. This
is how, I think, we can develop into a good parent.
Right now I would like to give some tips on how to become a good, loving parent.
To tell you the truth, I am a little bit afraid to sound superficial, as I am not a parent
yet. But, from another side, I had enough experience of being a child. So, now
when I am in my early twenties I can evaluate the way I was brought up by my
parents. It is true, the older we are the more we can understand our parents. Well, let
s pass on to the tips:
Recognize your child for the individual that they are. No two children are alike, and
even though they may resemble you, they are not you. You may have a child that
loves sports and one that can t stand to be outdoors. We should consider the
individuality of each child as a blessing and pursue ways to expand on that.
Discipline your child. That is not to say that you have to spank your child or beat
them unmercifully. Choose the method that works best for your child. You are the
adult in your relationship and should be the master manipulator.
Be involved in the schooling. Ask questions regarding how your child
36. The Importance Of Deforestation On The Environment
The world has relied on deforestation for many generations as a power source, human
migration, or clearings for agriculture. The removal of these forested areas, without
sufficiently replanting or by first incorporating proper consideration of all affected
living things in the area will result in a complete disregard of any laws protecting the
habitat. In conserving natural forested areas, economic planning, and biodiverse
offsetting will help in controlling human induced acts causing climate change and the
extinction of many species of wildlife.
In 1968, Garrett Hardin, an ecologist, warned of the impact on the environment
through a paper titled The Tragedy of the Commons (Burger, Gochfeld, 1998). He
writes that individuals are forever harming the global landscape by way of
blameless, or ignorant actions. The Commons suggests increased population would
degrade common resources. Thus Hardin focused on the relationship between
individual behavior and resource sustainability. While his theory works in some
cases, Garrett Hardin did not back up any of his presented evidence, but rather it was
his assumptions that have been cited throughout the years. Hardin wrote of shared
resources in England, where farming arrangements were shared by all who
participated. If a farmer bought a new cow, he would benefit however the increased
hoof traffic would degrade the entire area from overuse. Worth noting is the example
Hardin brings to light is unmanaged commons. Empirically speaking

have always enjoyed the writings of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and selected the
story called One of These Days . In the story, we are introduced to Aurelio Escovar
a poor, uneducated dentist. Although brief, the story is full of interesting imagery.
One thing I observed as I read the story is that he seems to lack any sense of
urgency. It seems he simply begins this day as he does every other. No patients
arrive and he pauses to study some buzzards he can see from the window. Who
spends time contemplating buzzards as they sit on a nearby roof? Why are they
even there? After several hours of this, the mayor arrives and he refuses to see him.
The mayor threatens to shoot him and when Aurelio opens his drawer to reveal his
own gun it becomes clear that it is not simply a figure of speech. He still lacks any
urgency as he takes his time to respond and get set up to pull the mayor s tooth that is
ailing him, even with the threat of being shot lingering.... Show more content on

39. Character Analysis Of A Streetcar Named Desire By...
A Streetcar Named Desire written by Tennessee Williams, introduces a self centered,
southern belle, Blanche DuBois who is exposed to the cruel reality that exists in New
Orleans. Blanche, the deceptive picture of purity, is giving an unexpected visit to her
sister, Stella, and brother in law, Stanley, who immediately demonstrate some doubts
about her staying with them. Throughout the tragic story, Tennessee Williams
develops Blanche as having a mental illness, escalated by the loss of family and her
home and Stanley s cruel treatment. Through Blanche DuBoisprosperous background,
insecure actions, and surreptitious manner, she develops as a dynamic character that
like a tragic hero she eventually causes her own decline. The DuBois family... Show

However, it is not until Stanley starts to uncover things from her past and that she
starts confessing to Mitch, her love interest, that the signs of her insanity are
demonstrated. In fact, in the beginning she knows that she is lying, such as not
letting them know about why they fired her from the school or telling Mitch her real
age. However, as she talks about her love interest and she starts hallucinating the
polka dot music and the shot, the reader is let know that she is mentally unstable. It
is even argued that the crying Mexican woman was most likely something part of her
imagination, as she is the only one that seems to acknowledge her. Furthermore, in
order for Stanley to investigate Blanche something must have ticked him off, and
something did, the beautiful expensive dresses that she carried in her suitcase.
Stanley wanted to see how she got all that money and why did she not share it with
him and Stella. However, as previously explained he found a lot more than that.
Stanley knew she was struggling with a mental illness; in fact, he was the one that
admitted her to the institution, but he was also the one that pushed her to the point of
breakage. A Streetcar Named Desireby Tennessee Williams follows the twisted life of
Blanche DuBois that through her prosperous background, insecure actions, and
surreptitious manner, she eventually causes her own decline. This roadtrip of a

Many people have heard of Microsoft. Many people have also heard of their
product known as Windows. Windows is a computer operating system. Even
though Microsoft only worked on computers, they released their first ever video
game console known as the Xbox in late 2001. The Xbox had newer, upgraded
versions of the console later on such as the Xbox 360in 2005 and the XboxOne in
2013. The idea of the Xbox first started when Kevin Bachus, Seamus Blackley, Otto

This was good, however, it had some consequences. When the Xbox 360 was
released as quickly as possible, huge, technical problems with the console caused
Microsoft to replace or repair most of the consoles. This made video game designers
learn valuable lessons about taking time with their products (Lasky). There were
many different designs of the Xbox 360, such as the Pro, Premium, Elite, and Arcade
(Loguidice). There are two current Xbox 360 S (slim) models which are the Xbox
360 250GB and the Xbox 360 4GB. These models are similar because they both
include 5 USB (universal serial bus) 2.0. ports and a custom port for the Kinect
sensor. They also have optical digital audio with built in WiFi (Loguidice). They also
are sleeker, smaller, and run quieter and cooler than their predecessors ( Loguidice).
The Xbox 360 4GB and the Xbox 360 250GB are also different. The Xbox 360 4GB
(as the name implies) has 4GB of storage. This is enough for playing physical copies
of games, but not for downloaded games. A hard drive can be purchased to get more
space though. This model also costs $100 less than the Xbox 360 250GB. The Xbox
360 250GB model includes a 250GB hard drive and a headset. It costs $100 more

Tennessee Williams wrote more than thirty plays from 1945 to 1961. Williams, who

45. Progression Of Photography Essay
Click, click, click, BOOM as the camera fell into the ground. I start to wonder what
it was like back in the old ages as television steamed from photography. Since the
beginning of time, pictures have always been a way to tell stories. When people
want to get a better idea of a story being told, they either have to look at a
photograph or create one in their head to fully understand what is going on. For this
paper I will explore the progression of photographyas it relates to television and radio

In television stills photos are shoot for all the important publicity photos for
marketing the show. According to Angus Young there are three stages for stills
photos in the television world and they are Episodic, Press shot, and Behind the

Episodic are images that relates to a particular episode. These photos will convey
an interesting angle on an individual episode or story thread. Episodic images are
often used online and in print along side TV guides or on the TV show or
Broadcaster s web sites. (Young 2011)
Press Shots are the images that will be used for posters, web sites and advertising
of the whole show or series. Often they re rather simple and can be shot separate to
the filming of the show on a specials shoot which is a dedicated publicity shoot with
the key cast of the show. (Young
46. Use of Energy by the Human Body
Throughout a normal day, the body uses glucose in the form of energy. The glucose
that the body uses is attained from carbohydrates that one receives from a meal
eaten during the day. However, when glucose begins to run out, especially if a
person is rigorously exercising, and is not restocked, the body must use its energy
supplies, glycogen. Glycogen is one of the most important polysaccharides in the
human body. It is the body s stored energy; with the highest storing sites being the
muscles and liver. Glycogen is important to the liver because it is able to provide a
backup supply of glucoseso that blood glucose concentration is maintained at a
sufficient level to supply the brain during times of starvation. Glycogen s function
in sustaining blood glucose levels is imperative because glucose is essentially the
only fuel source used by the brain. The primary function of muscle glycogen is to
supply fuel for the contraction of the muscles during exercise. However, insufficient
amount of glycogen in the liver and muscles can lead to numerous diseases, diseases
like Glycogen Storage Disorders (GSD). Glycogen synthesis and breakdown occur
by distinctive pathways that are catalyzed by different enzymes. Glycogen
phosphorylation involves three steps: the first is the release of glucose 1 phosphate
from glycogen, then altering of the glycogen substrate to allow additional
phosphorylation, and last is the conversion of glucose 1 phosphate to glucose 6
phosphate. Glycogen
47. Modern And Modern Popular Media
Ancient and modern popular media have misled audiences from the truth of the
typical diet of lower strata of Roman society. Modern movies and books and even
ancient satire, which was a popular culture medium of their day, all put forth a
stereotype of the decadent and rich citizens of Imperial Rome as contrasted with the
humble fare of the poor Romans. The modern media, possibly influenced by the
ancient satire and the fact that much of our information about the Roman diet comes
from what we know about the upper strata of Roman society and how they lived,
plays into stereotypes of the Romans of the Imperial Period stuffing themselves on
dormice and grapes while their society s servants went hungry. When the critical

It is a common belief that the Romans who were not wealthy enough to enjoy lavish
banquets were forced to eat a dreary and unhealthy diet of pulses and porridges.
Modern popular media, such as television shows and movies, have perpetuated this
belief. In the episode The Fires of Pompeii of the BBC television series Doctor Who,
the character Caecilius, depicted as one of the wealthiest inhabitants of Pompeii,
requests of his slave, oh Rombus, I m a little bit peckish. Get me some ants in
honey, there s a good man. Ooh, maybe a dormouse! Caecilius is shown to be very
wealthy by the size and beauty of his house, and the fact that he is in the act of
preparing to meet an important business man who has come all the way from Rome.
This request of his slave connects the dormouse to wealthy Romans. Also, his
uncertainty of whether he wants the dormouse or not creates the sense that the
dormouse is a delicacy, as if he, as one of the richest in Pompeii, can hardly afford
such a treat. From archeological evidence, it has been recently revealed that the
dormouse was not exclusive to those of the highest strata of Roman society.

According to the National Association of Social Workers (2016), social workers
help people overcome some of life s most difficult challenges: poverty,
discrimination, abuse, addiction, physical illness, divorce, loss, unemployment,
educational problems, disability, and mental illness. They help prevent crises and
counsel individuals, families, and communities to cope more effectively with the
stresses of everyday life . Through the lens of a professional, these are critical
qualities and experiences that assist social workers in understanding people and the
community, which they live in. In addition, it is very significant for social workers
to identify and familiarize themselves with the neighborhood s history, culture,
customs, and issues and most importantly, the people. By being conversant with the
background information, it will help social workers communicate more effectively
while in the process of building and establishing relationships with the people in the
community. Some fundamentals to social work in a community are education and
indicators of psychological and emotional distress. As reported by the website

49. Marlowe And FaustusDamnation In Shakespeare s Death
Perhaps the most poignant of these moments is in Act IV during which Faustus has a
troubling encounter with a horse courser. Speaking to himself (as well as the
audience), Faustus laments, what are thou, Faustus, but a man condemned to die?
(4.1, line 127). If the play were to be accepted as Calvinist, Faustus then becomes the
worst sort of sinner. As Calvin himself explains in Institutes of Christian Religion, We
see therefore that it is no absurdity, that one self act be ascribed to God, to Satan, and
to man: but the diversity in the end and manner of doing, causeth that therein
appeareth the justice of God to be without fault, and also the wickedness of Satan
and man, bewrayeth itself to their reproach (Calvin 207). In the Calvinist mindset,
Faustus damnation was first willed by God, then by Satan, and then by himself.
Faustus, and his actions in the play, could have acted as a cautionary tale, though a
rather dramatic one. However, even if one chooses to view the play as a critic of
Calvinism, it remains true that Marlowe s interpretation of the Faustmyth is wrought
with religious concerns of the time. Was Faustus fate predestined or could he have
saved his soul? This question and its difficult answer certainly would have resonated
with Elizabethan audiences. Interestingly enough, 21st century America was also
navigating a world in which religion and politics cannot be separated from one
another. During David Mamet s original production of Faustus,

The Wheel of life has six main sections which represent the six realms it was

But aside from Temperature, many other factors are recognized as affecting the rate
of evaporation.
The second factor, which we believe, plays a role in the rate at which evaporation
occurs is surface area. Surface area of a liquid could be defined as the area or
amount of water which in constant contact with the atmosphere. Surface area plays a
large role in our weather systems, as shown by our oceans. Our oceans our widely
exposed to the atmosphere and have a large surface area. This in turn allows them to
produce most of the moisture in the air through evaporation.
The change in the rate of evaporation by surface area is evident for all eyes in the
proceeding experiments later in this report. The effect that surface area has on
evaporation can be explained using the example from the understanding concepts
question #1 on page 535.
In this question it states that one litre of water is placed into each a pie plate and a
jar. They were both placed into the same room and were given time to evaporate.
Our prediction is that the water in the pie plate would evaporate quicker, assuming
its opening was wider than the jar. This would be because of the difference in
surface area. In this case as in every other increase in evaporation due to surface
area increase, it can be explained by one simple fact. Allowing the two reactants (air
and water) to contact more of each other will increase the rate of reaction. This
occurs because of the increase in the number of
53. Andrew Jackson Democracy
Democratic, Republic? Andrew Jackson s form and thought of democracy was very
different from the democracy the founding fathers originally wanted for our country.
The founding fathers wanted a country mostly ruled by Congress and they didn t
want average Americans to have a role in choosing... [the] president (Reinventing the
Presidency). The founding fathers thought of the presidential branch as being weak
and only good for doing what Congress wanted. Andrew Jacksonthe seventh president
of the united statesquickly showed the people how powerful his government
position was by enforcing his right to veto bills Congress passed. Over Jackson s
presidential term, he was a very different president than the founders originally
wanted in office, and many people thought of his presidency as being very
democratic. Jackson s term as president may have seemed democratic, but when you
look deeper into his laws and policies you can realize how his term wasn t really that
democratic.
Andrew Jackson wrote a letter to Congress on July 10, 1832, saying the rich and
powerful too often bend the acts of government to their selfish purposes (Doc. F).
Jackson is talking about the national bank in this letter to Congress and it was very
well known from his close friends that he had always been afraid of banks... [and
called bankers} vipers and thieves (Shi, Tindall, 324). He thought that the national
bank caused the government to have too much control over the people, but the way

Zhenli Xu Protestant Reformation Protestant Reformation is admittedly one of the
most important schisms in the history of Christianity. It started with Martin Luther
nailing the Ninety Five Theses on the door of the Catholic Church in Germany in
1517, and ended with the Peace of Westphalia in 1648. The Reformation was a
religious movement triggered by the rise of humanism during the Renaissance and
the general corruption of the Roman Catholic Church that eventually led to the break
out of wars of religions all over the Europe. Among all the causes of the Protestant
Reformation during 16th and 17th century, Renaissance played a very important role
of sparking questions and challenges against the Catholic Church. Renaissance
humanism was the study of classic Latin and Greek literatures and philosophies,
attempting to restore ancient morals and that emphasized the value of human
beings. Similarly, Martin Luther sought to restore Christianity back to as it was in
the apostolic church in which he believed that everything God required of us laid in
the Scripture. Also, the strike of the Black Death during the 14th century had made
people grow suspicious of the divine salvation as it killed millions of innocent.
Because of the Black Death, there was a severe shortage of clergies in Europe and
many of them were poorly trained. Consequently, church and church teachings

56. Historical Features Of Spatial Data Essay
Spatial data mining is a rising exploration field devoted to the advancement and
utilization of novel computational procedures for the examination of big spatial
datasets. It envelops methods for finding valuable spatial associations and patterns
that are not stored in spatial datasets. Generally these procedures need to manage
complex features with spatial data properties. The properties and relationships that
have been contained in spatial data are different from transactional data. For
instance, transactional data are stored in discrete space of numeric and categorical
data rather than spatial data which are stored in continuous space. Transactions in
transactional data are independent of each other unlike the spatial data share a
variety of spatial relationships among each other. The complexity of spatial data type
and implicit relationships among spatial objects makes the process of discovering
spatial patterns from spatial data is more difficult compared to the process
discovering patterns from traditional data. Different approaches have been
developed for knowledge discovery from spatial data such as Spatial Classification,
Spatial association rule mining, Spatial Clustering [8]. Spatial Classification spatial
classification is known as that attributes can be grouped with respect to their values
into categories also the attribute values of objects of neighbors may also be related
to the membership of objects so that they have to be considered as well
